Very loud but lovely and delicious place with a menu with many global influences added into the options. We had dropped a fork and a waiter immediately came with another one before we even picked up the fallen fork! It made for a very magical moment. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked and suited everyone’s tastes. Would definitely recommend for a fun outing!

Enjoy coming to this restaurant. I ordered the lamb dish which is what they are known for. Huge portions, can definitely be shared with someone. It would be nice to order this, and something else a bit smaller and share with your friend. We sat in the round booth with red chairs. So it was really cozy, and good size to chat with everyone around the table. Very nice atmosphere that's not too loud, which is appreciated. So easy to chat with people. Other people ordered ahi tuna, tofu, mussels, and other dishes. I also had a glass of chardonnay. So it was a very pleasant evening songstress new friends and acquaintances. The server was really friendly and polite.

Very fine food. The Waygu carpaccio was rich, melted in your mouth, and absolutely delicious. The presentation of the food was very artful. The pea tips and kabocha squash were nice veggies to go with the tuna. The chocolate lava cake was decadent, warm, and melty. The yogurt ice cream was unique. Cheeses were tasty. A very enjoyable dinner experience and food adventure.

we’ve been going to chambar for a while now, and it’s one of those places that just feels locked in. from the moment we walk in, there’s a sense that everything is intentional, nothing rushed, nothing sloppy. they run a tight ship, and it shows in every detail, down to their menus and even the cloth napkins. there’s a level of care that feels deliberate, like a lot of thought has gone into how every part of the experience comes together. the menu is always well balanced, colourful, fresh, and genuinely healthy without sacrificing flavour. everything feels composed with purpose, not just for taste but for how it all fits together on the plate. even their staff meal mondays carry that same thoughtfulness, which says a lot about their standards. after more than two decades in the city, chambar isn’t just a restaurant, it’s part of the fabric here. they’ve helped shape the local dining scene, trained people who’ve gone on to do great things, and built a reputation that carries real weight in the industry. being a pillar in the community isn’t just about longevity, it’s about hard work, long hours, consistency, showing up, and maintaining a level of care people can count on. chambar does that, quietly and confidently. why it’s not recognized as a michelin recommended is beyond me.

I’d heard a lot about Chambar over the years and finally made it in for brunch on a recent Vancouver visit. The place was buzzing, packed tables, that satisfying hum of a busy restaurant on a weekend morning. The Belgian angle on brunch is a nice change of pace, and the room has a great atmosphere that makes you want to linger over your coffee. Service was friendly and they clearly cared, but with the place that full, things moved slowly. No one seemed stressed about it though, it’s that kind of spot where you just settle in and go with the flow. The food was genuinely good, well-prepared and satisfying, though I’ll be honest, nothing made me put my fork down in amazement. A solid, enjoyable meal, just not a life-changing one. I’d go back, but I’d clear my afternoon first.

First time at Moxies on West Georgia, and the food completely exceeded expectations. - The Food: We ordered the Mahi Mahi and the Mango Chicken. Both dishes delivered incredible flavor and top quality. The portions were just right, filling and satisfying. - The Service: Bre provided outstanding service. She was very friendly, attentive, and gave us the right amount of space to enjoy our meal. - The Atmosphere: The space is well-suited for a casual business meeting or drinks. - The Takeaway: We tried two glasses of white wine on happy hour. While the happy hour drink selection is solid, the regular food menu is the real star here. We will definitely return.

Everyone at Moxies is friendly and talkative. Gives off a nice positive vibe that remains throughout the meal. Our waiter was Joe. He helped us choose a few options for lunch as we didn’t want to order from the brunch menu. Started with Chili Cashew Chicken Apps. They were accompanied by thin crispy “wontons” which had a BBQ flavor. Not sure I would like this combo but it was actually really a great combo of flavors. We also tried the Vegetarian Power Bowl and Tofu Thai Curry Laksa. Great food, excellent waiters. All in all, a 10 out of 10 experience. Thanks to Joe and the rest of the staff at Moxies.

Does this look like a $60 medium-cooked ribeye to you? I’m getting tired of going to restaurants, paying good money for a premium cut of beef, and being served something that is overcooked, tough, and simply not worth the price. This steak neither looked nor tasted like a ribeye, yet I was repeatedly assured that it was. Out of curiosity, I even showed the photos to ChatGPT. Its assessment was that the steak appeared to be a medium-well New York strip. Of course, AI isn’t a steak expert, but its opinion matched my own experience. To be fair, the waitress was excellent throughout the entire experience. She was friendly, professional, and did her best to address the issue. The problem was not the service—it was the steak itself. To the restaurant’s credit, they ultimately refunded the steak and provided a $60 credit toward a future visit. Unfortunately, I’m not from the area, so I won’t be able to use it—and based on the quality of this steak, I’m not sure I would want to. I exclusively order ribeye when dining out, and I’ve had some excellent ribeyes at other Moxies locations. This one, however, was nowhere close to the standard I would expect from a $60 steak.

The best thing about being at Sandman's on West Georgia is the easy access to Moxie's. Loved their food, the vibe and the excellent staff! Trust the staff on their food recommendation and be delighted. Thank you, after an extremely touristy day of 30k steps, we needed that delicious food and easy banter.

Service was a bit slow for a fairly dead afternoon - we were sat outside on the patio, would likely be quicker if we were inside. All in all, a good spot to stop by when out and about in Downtown!

A good experience at Frankie’s. We generally only eat Italian food in Italy, but we found the cuisine here to be good nonetheless. Just pizza and beer, but well-prepared. We also enjoyed the breakfast. We’ll be back tomorrow—definitely recommended.

We came for a belated Valentine’s dinner, and really enjoyed the experience! 🍝The food was super tasty, as well as a reasonable portion especially for more upscale places (I had to take some home). I really enjoyed the Casarecce Boscaiola - it was super flavourful, lovely sauce, and a decent amount of beef with small chunks of sausage. my partner got the Chicken Linguini - the chicken was nice and juicy, with a considerable amount of pieces! The flavour imo was a bit subtle. 🥖The complimentary focaccia bread was delicious - it had hints of rosemary and olive oil. Although it arrived near the end of our meal, the fresh bread had a toasted nice crust and bouncy center. Perfect to dip with the sauce. 🍟We also got truffle fries for $10. There are a few classic items that are sold but not listed on the menu. It was really good, would have loved more sauce though. 🤵‍♀️Our server was very nice - she wasn’t afraid to load us up with cheese, thank you! 🕯️The restaurant was nicely decorated - we were sat at a very small table despite making a reservation and the restaurant being pretty empty. The place had a nice dim setting, which is a nice vibe, but can be hard to take pictures. The washroom is outside of the restaurant in the hotel area. I ready that there was music - we must have missed it!

We had a wonderful dinner for my birthday. The waitress in the bar was friendly and made our night. My husband had the Dine 2 Go 3 course meal. Beef and onion soup, rack of lamb and the berry crepe dessert. She warned that it was a smaller portion of lamb which it was but it was tasty. The side dish of white beans and veggies seemed very undercooked. The bell peppers were still crunchy, eggplant chewy and white beans tough. I had the seafood linguine which was loaded with seafood, the linguine was a bit al dente for my taste and the sauce unseasoned. She even brought me a piece of fudge and sang for my birthday which was very sweet.

I’ve passed by this cooking school a few times and knew they had a café offering breakfast, lunch, and drinks. Unfortunately, they’re closed on weekends, so I never had the chance to visit—until today. As I walked by, a very friendly staff member greeted me at the door, which made me decide to go in. The person who helped me order was also all smiles and very welcoming. They offer both breakfast and lunch, and I ordered the avocado toast and a cortado. The café has a charming, rustic interior with plenty of seating. Once your food is ready, they bring it to your table. The breakfast looked fresh and beautifully presented. The egg was perfectly cooked—soft and delicate—and the sourdough bread had a great texture, crispy on the outside and soft inside. The only downside for me was the sun-dried tomato tapenade, which was a bit too acidic and overpowered the overall flavor. The coffee was decent and reasonably priced. Overall, it was a good experience. They have a wide selection of food, and I noticed they also sell a variety of house-made products, including frozen items like Green Thai Prawn Curry and Lemongrass Coconut Chicken—both of which I’m interested in trying next time. Overall, a solid spot worth visiting.

We had such a great experience at The Dirty Apron, and a big part of that was our instructor, Tessa! She was warm, knowledgeable, and made the whole class feel welcoming from the start. Her instructions were clear and easy to follow, and she struck the perfect balance between teaching proper techniques and keeping things fun and relaxed.

My firm hosted an event where we attended a cooking class. We cooked our own meal from scratch. Takashi demonstrated the recipes beautifully and then we were off to go replicate. Well let me just say this was one of my favourite corporate events ever! I would highly recommend this as a team building exercise. I will definitely be going back to take some more classes. Also the quality of the ingredients was incredible. Takashi and the team were wonderful!!

We’ve held staff events at The Dirty Apron three separate times now, and every experience has been incredible! They’re so easy to work with and are extremely detailed throughout the entire planning process, clearly explaining how everything works and what you need to provide both ahead of time and on the day of the event. You don't need to be a great cook to do well in their kitchen. The chefs are with you every step of the way, providing instructions, guidance, and plenty of help as you work through your chosen dishes. We usually do a three-course meal with our staff split into three teams for a friendly competition on who makes the best dish, and it’s always such a fun experience. You get to completely forget about work for a few hours, relax, mingle with your coworkers, and then sit down and enjoy a delicious meal that you helped make! We’ll definitely be back every year and can’t recommend The Dirty Apron enough. Whether you’re looking for a fun staff event or just want to try one of their cooking classes, you absolutely have to give them a try at least once - you’ll love it!

We were doing groceries at T&T just around the corner and wanted some sushi, so we decided to stop by this place. We got the edamame, which was pretty meh—it was a bit overcooked. We also ordered a half order of salmon sashimi and a half order of tuna sashimi, and those were really, really good. The pieces were big, fresh, and had a great texture. I also got one piece of ikura, which was delicious, and one piece of ika nigiri. The ika was a little chewy, but it wasn't fishy. We also got the beef roll and the oven baked salmon roll with cream cheese. I really wanted to like this place more because everything came out looking and smelling so good. Unfortunately, they put unagi sauce on everything, and I'm not a big fan of having sweet sauce on all my rolls. A little bit is okay, but I don't like it on every roll. I didn't realize they did that here, so next time I'll read the menu more carefully and ask for it on the side. Service was friendly and very fast. Overall, I would come back and try other items. I'll just make sure to customize my order next time.

After reading all the reviews calling this place a “hidden gem,” I was expecting sushi enlightenment. Instead, I got a reminder that expectations are dangerous. The fish was fine. Not bad, not amazing, just fine. The biggest disappointment was the crispy cup topped with fish roe. It looked great, but by the time it reached the table it had completely lost its crunch and turned soggy. The salad was fresh, but the dressing was so sour it overwhelmed everything else. The nigiri was decent, although getting two pieces of sushi on a plate large enough to land a helicopter felt a little dramatic. One thing that surprised me: I was asked to pay before the food arrived. I actually joked, “Do I look suspicious?” I don’t think they understood and may have thought I was ordering takeout. It wasn’t a huge issue, but it felt unusual. Overall, nothing was terrible, but nothing justified the reputation either. Vancouver has a lot of sushi restaurants, and this one felt average rather than memorable. Two stars. The best thing I got was exercise from walking here.

This location posts an impressive selection of sashimi, aburi, and nigiri. Although steeper in price, the sashimi platter contains the most delectable seafood in the region and generous quantity of lean and fatter fish varieties. The presentation is excellent and the service goes above and beyond to ensure a welcoming and exquisite experience. I will return when I am in the vicinity. Thank you.

Such a great spot! Very casual and extremely quick to serve. Every part of my meal was wonderful. I had a few the gommae, tako sunomono, miso soup, and 6 pieces of niguri. All were very fresh and nicely presented. I will definitely be back!

Rocked up looking for a good slice of pizza. My parents and I stumbled across this place for an easy dinner on our last night in the city, and we were not disappointed. Staff were lovely and even went out of their way to tell us the different slices available, offered us nice pieces, and the food is definitely your money's worth. We dined here on a Saturday evening while vacationing in Vancouver. The food was phenomenal and the service was more than what we expected. All the staff was extremely friendly. Even though we ate during their closing hours, they did not rush us and allowed us to order additional items. Highly recommend the mixed mezze dips platter and mixed grill platter. We ordered additional rounds of the lamb kebab because it was to die for. Cocktails were 10/10, every single one that we ordered was better than the last. I would however avoid the desserts. The baklava, though tasty was dry. The molten lava cake was refused and sent back by our kids. Didn’t look very appealing. We would definitely go back on future visits for dinner.

My boss treated me to lunch at Nuba in Gastown today. When I saw it was downstairs, I was initially worried it might be damp or smelly, but I was totally wrong! As soon as we stepped in, we were greeted by a bustling atmosphere and that amazing, unique Mediterranean aroma. I ordered the lamb kofta and hummus—both were delicious! The variety of sauces on the side really leveled up the flavor. My only minor wish would be for the bread to be served hot and fresh. Overall, a great experience. Highly recommended! While itself is a wonderful experience, it is difficult to ignore the heartbreaking crisis of homelessness and addiction in this part of downtown. It is deeply concerning that this area, which represents the historic heart of our city, is so heavily impacted by these social issues. Beyond the humanitarian aspect, it is unfortunate that this situation detracts from the beauty of the neighborhood, making it feel uncomfortable for residents and tourists alike. I truly hope for better public initiatives that prioritize both the dignity of these individuals through proper reintegration programs and the restoration of the downtown area as a welcoming destination for everyone.

Tried with pretty high expectations, but it didn’t quite live up to them for me. The menu has some unique and interesting items, but overall I found the flavours a bit underwhelming. The garden falafel wrap was probably the best thing we had, nice portion size, balanced flavours, and quite enjoyable. Najib’s Special was okay and the quantity was generous, but it felt underseasoned, and some of the cauliflower seemed undercooked. The hummus was good though. Drinks were mixed, the ginger beer was nice but nothing particularly memorable, while the watermelon and sumac sangria unfortunately tasted a bit artificial and wasn’t enjoyable for me. Not a bad experience overall, just not as flavourful as I expected.

I stopped by Meat & Bread for lunch today after work and had a fantastic experience. I ended up chatting with three really nice guys there—I asked for their top recommendations, mentioning that I’m a Google review writer. They pointed me toward the porchetta, and it was incredible! A great find, with the feel of a stylish Meatpacking District deli: industrial loft design, an open kitchen and a relaxed atmosphere. The Buffalo Chicken sandwich was tasty, savoury and beautifully balanced, with tender chicken, crunchy slaw and creamy house ranch. Behind the counter, the skilled and friendly team carve the meat fresh and offer genuinely helpful advice. Simple, fresh and expertly done!

Wonderful little dessert cafe! Very attentive service and amazing cheesecake. My partner and I got the Apple Cheesecake and the Raspberry Chocolate Cheesecake. Both were fantastic and came in very generous portion sizes. I see why the cheesecake is award winning. We came at around 9:30PM on a Tuesday and there were a few customers having quiet conversations with soft music playing, an overall very comfortable atmosphere.

Charisma is one of my favourite cafes in all of Vancouver. I love that the owner family members greet me by name and I always feel so welcomed and at home. We’ve been to at least three cake jar workshops now and I feel so special that there’s always vegan whipped cream for me. This is one of my family’s most fun activities we can all do together and everyone enjoys wholeheartedly. We arrive, order dinner, build our cake jars with the most delightful selection of options (sprinkles, chocolate flakes, syrups, fruit, Oreo crumbs, nuts, freshly baked chocolate/vanilla/black sesame/lemon/red bean cake, matcha marshmallow fluff, regular whipped cream, popping bobas, etc.) and then by the time we’re done with our jars, we label them, put them in the display fridge, and we have a delightful dinner. The kids will dig into their cakes but we adults save ours for home. It usually takes me 3 sittings to finish my jar! Definitely better than floral arrangement - I can honestly say it’s an amazing way to calm down after an incredibly stressful adrenaline-fueled day. Mango real fruit slush is my most recommended item on the menu. I’ll often pop in for that alone if I’m in the area. Yam fries with a sandwich that I feel for that day is my second go-to. I’m a proud regular here!

Ever since they opened over a decade ago, I’ve been coming here for their cheesecake, and their extensive menu selections! Many of them are whimsical and unique from all the other cafe/ bistro/ restaurant / bar! Yes they serve alcohol and spiked bubble tea!! Wow. The owner is really nice and they really put care into the service, every time we’re here the napkin is always different and folded nicely as seen in this picture, background is their Oreo cheesecake. Our favourite is their original cheesecake and their seasonal flavours, if you dine in, the plating is so photogenic. Their coffee also much better than some other cafes near by. We love the cortado, mocha, espresso. The interior is so fun and quirky, with indoor fountain and so many diff seating options! If you are into liminal spaces and a quiet gathering right by Stadium Chinatown skytrain ( 30 sec walk) and opens late, then this is the place for you! They also have sandwiches, soups, fries, hamburgers etc!

Cute little restaurant. Lots of food and drink options with customization! I had their fresh mango and coconut drink and it’s refreshing with the perfect amount of sweetness and creaminess. I also ordered a slice of the chocolate hazelnut cheesecake and it’s absolutely divine. They have an award winning apple cheesecake I’ll have to try next time I’m in. Good spot for a breakfast. Food was really good. We had the OG bun with mascarpone and berries and was amazing. The smoked salmon bagel was good too. Tea and coffee was normal. The latte could have more coffee for our taste but overall the place was good. The price was a bit high but the food was good so I guess it's OK.

Popped in for a quick snack, Spinach and Feta pastry was good! But the Spanish Latte was delicious, sweet but not overly, very smooth. It’s a cozy little cafe with a few double seaters, then two bigger tables so a larger group could be accommodated. Service was great, our barista was very polite, double checked our order before confirming and was great at explaining what an item was if we asked. Highly recommend! Can’t wait to come back!

Good time dining here for coffee on a weekend late morning! Service was friendly and prompt. They have an extensive beverage menu and baked goods options (including their coffee buns and other items). I had a decaf latte and a To Live For Bakery Lemon Coconut Loaf. Latte had a nice coffee flavour. The loaf came refrigerated and I didn't ask, but I'm sure they would've warmed it on request. My friend had their pistachio latte (great flavour with pistachio pieces on top) and the white chocolate pistachio croissant. They ate it cool/room temperature, but it probably would've tasted better heated (as there was filling inside). Still a good croissant though! Would recommend and return. One thing we noticed was the hand sanitizer at the self-service counter (where you return dishes, get milk for coffee, etc.), located against a wall right above the stir sticks. As the automatic dispenser can drip quite easily, the extra liquid is quite susceptible to landing on and contaminating the objects below. They should relocate it, or at least, not have items like utensils underneath it.

What a gem! The coffee here is absolutely delicious, rich and perfectly crafted every time. But what truly sets Papa Roti apart is Elham, the owner. She is incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about what she does. You feel right at home the moment you walk in. If you're in Vancouver and looking for great coffee with a personal touch, this is the place. Highly recommended
