Very fine food. The Waygu carpaccio was rich, melted in your mouth, and absolutely delicious. The presentation of the food was very artful. The pea tips and kabocha squash were nice veggies to go with the tuna. The chocolate lava cake was decadent, warm, and melty. The yogurt ice cream was unique. Cheeses were tasty. A very enjoyable dinner experience and food adventure.

we’ve been going to chambar for a while now, and it’s one of those places that just feels locked in. from the moment we walk in, there’s a sense that everything is intentional, nothing rushed, nothing sloppy. they run a tight ship, and it shows in every detail, down to their menus and even the cloth napkins.
there’s a level of care that feels deliberate, like a lot of thought has gone into how every part of the experience comes together.
the menu is always well balanced, colourful, fresh, and genuinely healthy without sacrificing flavour. everything feels composed with purpose, not just for taste but for how it all fits together on the plate.
even their staff meal mondays carry that same thoughtfulness, which says a lot about their standards.
after more than two decades in the city, chambar isn’t just a restaurant, it’s part of the fabric here. they’ve helped shape the local dining scene, trained people who’ve gone on to do great things, and built a reputation that carries real weight in the industry. being a pillar in the community isn’t just about longevity, it’s about hard work, long hours, consistency, showing up, and maintaining a level of care people can count on. chambar does that, quietly and confidently.
why it’s not recognized as a michelin recommended is beyond me.

Chambar was a second choice after we didn't want to wait in a long line up for brunch last weekend, and knowing now I'm so glad we went here instead. The service is unmatched. Our server (more like a food sommelier) Scott, was absolutely on point. He romanticized everything on the menu, from the apple smoked bacon to the Belgian waffles and nothing disappointed. Top notch. The drinks and food were unbelievablably amazing and we were celebrating my bachelorette, so Scott hooked it up for up with some Lemoncello appertivos and sweet treats at the end. Our whole group was impressed. Thank you so much Chambar for an amazing experience and making my bachelorette so special!

We came to try their $28 Staff Meal hosted every Monday after 5pm and it did not disappoint! The menu changes every week and they post it on their website ahead of time. I loved how seating was communal as it really encouraged connecting with those sitting next to you. We met so many friendly people throughout our meal!
Highly recommend checking them out for an affordable, creative, delicious and heart warming meal. I also love how the chefs’ creativity really shines through the food and you get to try items they don’t usually serve on the menu. Can’t wait to be back to try more! (Media invite + own honest opinions)

I’d heard a lot about Chambar over the years and finally made it in for brunch on a recent Vancouver visit. The place was buzzing, packed tables, that satisfying hum of a busy restaurant on a weekend morning. The Belgian angle on brunch is a nice change of pace, and the room has a great atmosphere that makes you want to linger over your coffee.
Service was friendly and they clearly cared, but with the place that full, things moved slowly. No one seemed stressed about it though, it’s that kind of spot where you just settle in and go with the flow. The food was genuinely good, well-prepared and satisfying, though I’ll be honest, nothing made me put my fork down in amazement. A solid, enjoyable meal, just not a life-changing one. I’d go back, but I’d clear my afternoon first.

Does this look like a $60 medium-cooked ribeye to you?
I’m getting tired of going to restaurants, paying good money for a premium cut of beef, and being served something that is overcooked, tough, and simply not worth the price.
This steak neither looked nor tasted like a ribeye, yet I was repeatedly assured that it was. Out of curiosity, I even showed the photos to ChatGPT. Its assessment was that the steak appeared to be a medium-well New York strip. Of course, AI isn’t a steak expert, but its opinion matched my own experience.
To be fair, the waitress was excellent throughout the entire experience. She was friendly, professional, and did her best to address the issue. The problem was not the service—it was the steak itself.
To the restaurant’s credit, they ultimately refunded the steak and provided a $60 credit toward a future visit. Unfortunately, I’m not from the area, so I won’t be able to use it—and based on the quality of this steak, I’m not sure I would want to.
I exclusively order ribeye when dining out, and I’ve had some excellent ribeyes at other Moxies locations. This one, however, was nowhere close to the standard I would expect from a $60 steak.

We went to Moxie’s and got the chimichurri steak salad + wings, and the salad actually stole the show. The steak was cooked really nicely and the chimichurri?? sooo good. Super fresh, garlicky, a little tangy and it just made everything taste better without being heavy.
Funniest part is my friend had never even heard of chimichurri before… and now he’s obsessed 💀 like fully converted after one bite.
Wings were also really good, crispy, juicy, not greasy. We got hot + honey garlic on the side (our server suggested it since my friend is diabetic and didn’t want something too sweet), which honestly worked out perfect because you can control the sauce. The hot had a nice kick and the honey garlic wasn’t overpowering. It's slightly breaded, though - just a heads up for anyone carb or glucose conscious. You can ask for sauces on the side.
Vibe inside is nice too: clean, cute, not crazy loud so you can actually talk. Service was decent, Vancouver-standard. Nice servers!
Would definitely come back, if only for that salad again ✨🔥

Stayed overnight at the hotel and didn't feel like venturing far so the wife and I took our 4 kids who don't do well at restaurants that don't start with a Mcd. I had the steak and mushroom sauce the wife had the vindaloo and the kids had the chicken burger and reg burger, pot stickers and pork belly ramen and a cheese pizza. All the food was better than amazing and im pretty fussy. My med rare steak was perfectly med rare. But the waitress was amazing. Our youngest with sensory issues didn't like his pizza (I tried it, it was good maybe needed some more sauce) but the waitress was awesome and asked him what can she do to fix and ended up bringing a fresh plate of chicken fingers with no issues. 11/10 and the chimichurri is delicious.

We came for happy hour and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. The food and drinks were great, but what really made the evening memorable was the exceptional service. Our server was incredible—attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our visit.
A special thank you to Sara, whose warm personality and genuine kindness made our night extra special. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and her positive energy truly enhanced the entire experience. Outstanding hospitality like this is rare and greatly appreciated. We’ll definitely be back!

Fantastic! Reasonably priced and delicious. Walked in and got seated almost instantly. HIGHLY recommend the pasta with mushrooms (I forgot the name). The Tiramisu is a good staple but if you want a real flavor bomb, go for the cheesecake.

Offers a refined yet accessible dining experience that hits a sweet spot between quality and value. Visiting on a quiet weekend afternoon, I found the atmosphere to be the establishment's standout feature. The interior is curated with a pleasant, inviting aesthetic that feels upscale without being intimidating—a rare balance that makes it suitable for both a casual lunch and a more intentional weekend outing.
The service, while professional, presented a curious contradiction. Despite there being only one other table occupied during my visit, the staff seemed somewhat indifferent; It wasn’t a lack of competence—orders were accurate and the pace was steady—but rather a lack of engagement that one might expect in a nearly empty room. It felt as though the energy of the room dipped along with the foot traffic.
Regarding the menu, the food is impressively priced for the quality provided. The dishes are well-executed and satisfying, offering a level of culinary care that often commands a higher premium elsewhere. It is a reliable choice for those seeking a "good meal" that doesn't overreach but masters the fundamentals.
A point of logistical clarity for future visitors: while Frankie’s is often associated with its adjacent Jazz bar, the two appear to be are separate facilities. According to the staff, the bar operates independently with its own schedule and management. If you are looking to pair a live set with your meal, it is worth checking their specific hours beforehand, as the restaurant maintains its own distinct, quieter identity during the day.

We came for a belated Valentine’s dinner, and really enjoyed the experience!
🍝The food was super tasty, as well as a reasonable portion especially for more upscale places (I had to take some home).
I really enjoyed the Casarecce Boscaiola - it was super flavourful, lovely sauce, and a decent amount of beef with small chunks of sausage.
my partner got the Chicken Linguini - the chicken was nice and juicy, with a considerable amount of pieces! The flavour imo was a bit subtle.
🥖The complimentary focaccia bread was delicious - it had hints of rosemary and olive oil. Although it arrived near the end of our meal, the fresh bread had a toasted nice crust and bouncy center. Perfect to dip with the sauce.
🍟We also got truffle fries for $10. There are a few classic items that are sold but not listed on the menu. It was really good, would have loved more sauce though.
🤵♀️Our server was very nice - she wasn’t afraid to load us up with cheese, thank you!
🕯️The restaurant was nicely decorated - we were sat at a very small table despite making a reservation and the restaurant being pretty empty. The place had a nice dim setting, which is a nice vibe, but can be hard to take pictures. The washroom is outside of the restaurant in the hotel area.
I ready that there was music - we must have missed it!

We had a wonderful dinner for my birthday. The waitress in the bar was friendly and made our night. My husband had the Dine 2 Go 3 course meal. Beef and onion soup, rack of lamb and the berry crepe dessert. She warned that it was a smaller portion of lamb which it was but it was tasty. The side dish of white beans and veggies seemed very undercooked. The bell peppers were still crunchy, eggplant chewy and white beans tough. I had the seafood linguine which was loaded with seafood, the linguine was a bit al dente for my taste and the sauce unseasoned. She even brought me a piece of fudge and sang for my birthday which was very sweet.

It was our first visit to Frankie's and we will definitely be back! The service was amazing, even though the restaurant got a lot busier as the night went on. Our server was so efficient and friendly. Food came quickly! We both ordered the lamb shanks and risotto...🤩🤩 it was beyond delicious!!! The appies of mussels and misto olives were delicious and mouth watering.🤤 5 out of 5 for food, service, amambiance.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I’ve passed by this cooking school a few times and knew they had a café offering breakfast, lunch, and drinks. Unfortunately, they’re closed on weekends, so I never had the chance to visit—until today.
As I walked by, a very friendly staff member greeted me at the door, which made me decide to go in. The person who helped me order was also all smiles and very welcoming.
They offer both breakfast and lunch, and I ordered the avocado toast and a cortado. The café has a charming, rustic interior with plenty of seating. Once your food is ready, they bring it to your table.
The breakfast looked fresh and beautifully presented. The egg was perfectly cooked—soft and delicate—and the sourdough bread had a great texture, crispy on the outside and soft inside. The only downside for me was the sun-dried tomato tapenade, which was a bit too acidic and overpowered the overall flavor.
The coffee was decent and reasonably priced. Overall, it was a good experience. They have a wide selection of food, and I noticed they also sell a variety of house-made products, including frozen items like Green Thai Prawn Curry and Lemongrass Coconut Chicken—both of which I’m interested in trying next time.
Overall, a solid spot worth visiting.

We had such a great experience at The Dirty Apron, and a big part of that was our instructor, Tessa! She was warm, knowledgeable, and made the whole class feel welcoming from the start. Her instructions were clear and easy to follow, and she struck the perfect balance between teaching proper techniques and keeping things fun and relaxed.

This was a gift from my husband and I was hesitant- but boy was I ever pleased. The chef that taught us was excellent- not only great teacher but entertaining as well. Food was amazing and we paired each dish with wine. 10/10

Unique experience as you eat what you make! Your teacher will walk you through a dish, then you go back to your station so that you can create it yourself. He's very engaging, knowledgable, and funny!
The fresh ingredients are already measured and partly prepared for you. You do have to put in some work, but it's great that you don't have to prep it from scratch, and no washing dishes!
Our group made the steak salad, lobster stuffed squid ink tortellini, and chocolate lava cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
The facility is very clean and elegant. Just a minor note that the location is near Downtown East Side, so be vigilant and you should be fine. Street or parkade parking available nearby.

Service and ambiance was great. Very fast as well. Miso soup very flavourful, sashimi and nigiri, good pieces, however, when we got the salmon avocado and the kuro maki, it was very disappointed. The rice was way too seasoned and the rice vinegar was overpowering all the other flavours. All I could taste was vinager. I would suggest the chef to use a mildish seasoning for the rice to balance all the flavours.

Was quite disappointed with our sushi. The pressed sushi had fish 3mm thick, nothing inside the blocks of rice. It was basically $16 for plain sushi rice and thin fish on top. The other sushi rolls were really small. The biggest issue was the rice... It was a mushy paste! Honestly the worst sushi I've ever had. I was really sad I went here to treat my friend to dinner but it was so embarrassing.

Great pizza!! Paul came in behind us and confirmed it was the best pizza in the city. $4 for a ready slice—they heat it back up in the oven. Hot and yum! Or order your own pizza. The employee there Sadu? He’s so awesome. Super helpful. Lots of sauces to go on top he wrote Paul a thank you written in ranch sauce on his cheese pizza. Paul likes cheese the best. We tried the pesto and the pepperoni. We also tried a slice of pesto pizza from a nearby pizza place just to confirm, and this really was the better pizza by far. Great price. Great food. Highly recommend!

Food: I got the lamb kafta. It was a little under seasoned but the sauce made up for it. Wasn't mind blowing but it was okay. Small portion, 2 pieces, I don't think I'd order it again. The red pepper appetizer wasn't that special either. It was sweet, not enough salt and the bread was a little stale. Overall wasn't that satisfied with my meal. I would wanna try the chicken shawarma next time.
Service: nice waiters
Atmosphere: relatively quiet, real candles and pretty good vibes.

Meat & Bread never let's me down. Their meatball sandwich is INSANE. The ratio of meatball to bread is off the charts. Seriously, I couldn't believe how stacked the sandwich was when it arrived.
Amazing bread, flavour profiles and more than enough to fill you up for one meal.
If you're ordering takeaway, put your order in early because they do sell out of sandwiches as the day goes on!

I went there on a friend’s recommendation, and I have to say it was a great one! The place is beautiful and stylish, with large industrial-style tables and a big counter where you can eat and interact with the friendly restaurant staff. The sandwich was delicious and well-balanced, with just the right amount of everything. The porchetta was absolutely crazy you can tell it’s fresh and made daily. I would have liked a couple more beer options, but overall, I’ll definitely be back and will recommend it to others!

Phenomenal Sandwich. This place is spot on for an amazing experience. For a person like myself who hates mustard, this place has the most amazing house mustard.( I love it). I tried the Porchetta & Feature McMeatball both were top notch. Their bread was amazing flavorful and crisp but still soft inside. Portions were great, definitely filling. Prices were spot on for the insane quality. Friendly Staff. Clean Establishment. Fast Service. Cozy Atmosphere

Haven’t tried many sandwich shops in Vancouver so I don’t have much to compare this to, but I dropped in one afternoon for lunch because it was close by to an appointment. We had a pulled pork sandwich and buffalo chicken sandwich. Sandwiches were good, lots of filling and meat wasn’t dry. I wish the bread was toasted(?) or toasted more if it was. But otherwise it’s a nice little place for a quick and easy lunch.

Ever since they opened over a decade ago, I’ve been coming here for their cheesecake, and their extensive menu selections! Many of them are whimsical and unique from all the other cafe/ bistro/ restaurant / bar! Yes they serve alcohol and spiked bubble tea!! Wow. The owner is really nice and they really put care into the service, every time we’re here the napkin is always different and folded nicely as seen in this picture, background is their Oreo cheesecake. Our favourite is their original cheesecake and their seasonal flavours, if you dine in, the plating is so photogenic. Their coffee also much better than some other cafes near by. We love the cortado, mocha, espresso. The interior is so fun and quirky, with indoor fountain and so many diff seating options! If you are into liminal spaces and a quiet gathering right by Stadium Chinatown skytrain ( 30 sec walk) and opens late, then this is the place for you! They also have sandwiches, soups, fries, hamburgers etc!

This is such a cozy and welcoming dessert café. The space is bright, clean, and thoughtfully designed — it has a relaxing, home-like atmosphere that makes it really comfortable to sit and unwind, whether you’re alone or with friends.
I ordered a latte and really enjoyed it. The coffee was smooth and well-balanced, with beautiful latte art on top. It’s the kind of place where you can easily spend some quiet time reading, thinking, or just enjoying the vibe.
Overall, it’s a lovely spot for coffee, dessert, and good company. I’d be happy to come back again. 💛

All my friends really liked them and the service was also really good. The owner really wanted to make sure we would like the drinks and it showed

I ended up coming here because it was one of the only places open so late. Inside it’s kind of random and casual, but I like how they have a lot of options on their menu. Including alcoholic bubble tea! I didn’t try it but plan to come back next time for that. We got the award-winning apple cheesecake and a mango slushy which were both good.

Good time dining here for coffee on a weekend late morning! Service was friendly and prompt. They have an extensive beverage menu and baked goods options (including their coffee buns and other items). I had a decaf latte and a To Live For Bakery Lemon Coconut Loaf. Latte had a nice coffee flavour. The loaf came refrigerated and I didn't ask, but I'm sure they would've warmed it on request. My friend had their pistachio latte (great flavour with pistachio pieces on top) and the white chocolate pistachio croissant. They ate it cool/room temperature, but it probably would've tasted better heated (as there was filling inside). Still a good croissant though! Would recommend and return.
One thing we noticed was the hand sanitizer at the self-service counter (where you return dishes, get milk for coffee, etc.), located against a wall right above the stir sticks. As the automatic dispenser can drip quite easily, the extra liquid is quite susceptible to landing on and contaminating the objects below. They should relocate it, or at least, not have items like utensils underneath it.

Good spot for a breakfast. Food was really good. We had the OG bun with mascarpone and berries and was amazing. The smoked salmon bagel was good too. Tea and coffee was normal. The latte could have more coffee for our taste but overall the place was good. The price was a bit high but the food was good so I guess it's OK.

Popped in for a quick snack, Spinach and Feta pastry was good!
But the Spanish Latte was delicious, sweet but not overly, very smooth.
It’s a cozy little cafe with a few double seaters, then two bigger tables so a larger group could be accommodated.
Service was great, our barista was very polite, double checked our order before confirming and was great at explaining what an item was if we asked.
Highly recommend! Can’t wait to come back!

I wish I could give you more than five stars. The coffee, hot or is the best I have ever had. Your pastries and sandwiches are delicious and many. The mornings sitting out on the terrace is relaxing and full of interesting views. Music is soothing and not too loud. And your staff! Your staff are so friendly and supportive of everything. I absolutely loved coming here every morning not only for the coffee but also to engage with you and your team.
