Hey, I thought Turkey was where East met West! I didn’t realize it was as easy as sprinkling some seaweed on fries and a hot dog and adding some yuzu to lemonade. If I was less cultured, I wouldn’t care about the hyperbolic claim but being such a refined sophisticate means I can’t let this go without a touch of protest.

I visited Japadog on Robson Street with a friend a while ago. The food was decent and reasonably priced, making it a good option if you’re looking for a quick bite downtown. The hot dogs are unique and worth trying at least once, but personally, it’s not one of my favorite spots. The quality was okay, and while I do find myself craving it from time to time, it’s not something I would go out of my way for. The staff were fine and the service was pretty much what you’d expect from a fast food place nothing exceptional, but no issues either. Overall, it’s a decent stop if you’re curious to try something different and want a quick, affordable meal.

This place is a Vancouver institution and with good reason. Hot dogs are a crowd pleaser and so is Japanese food, so combining the two was always going to be a winner. The sweetness of the teriyaki and creamy mayo just works in a hot dog, and you can tell the sausages and buns are quality too. An absolute must try if you're in the city

This spot is always a hit! They have plenty of menu options that serves different palates. The hot dogs are on the pricier side(especially because for portion you get) but the quality of ingredients is always pretty good. There’s plenty of seating but it does feel a little tight. Great spot to get a late night snack - especially since they’re open till 3am

Trying Japadog in Vancouver was one of those food experiences that truly lives up to the hype. Located in the heart of the city, this iconic spot blends Japanese flavors with the classic hot dog in a way that feels both creative and incredibly satisfying. I started with the Wagyu Terimayo dog, and honestly, it was one of the best hot dogs I’ve ever tried. The Wagyu sausage was juicy, rich, and perfectly cooked, with a deep beefy flavor that stood out from the first bite. The teriyaki sauce added a sweet and savory balance, while the Japanese mayo gave it a creamy, smooth finish without overpowering the meat. Every ingredient felt intentional, and the combination worked flawlessly. Then I tried the Yakisoba dog, which was something completely different and far from a “normal” hot dog—in the best way possible. The yakisoba noodles on top added texture and heartiness, turning it into a unique fusion dish rather than just street food. It was flavorful, slightly sweet, slightly savory, and surprisingly well-balanced. Definitely not something you eat every day, but that’s exactly what made it special. Japadog is fun, bold, and memorable. If you’re in Vancouver and want to try a hot dog that breaks all the rules while still tasting amazing, this place is a must.

Great food! Great service! I think our servers name was Colby, he was great. We tried a lot of things. Cheese toast, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, broccoli, Brussels, and portobello sticks, and a 32oz rib steak. It was all actually really good. Steak was cooked slightly over medium rare, but im trying hard to find any issues here. Great food, great service great atmosphere! Will come back and bring guests next time.

In my recent trip to Vancouver, I decided to treat myself a birthday dinner at this place. I got there later than I had wanted. Firstly, the receptionist, she was so nice on the phone. When I was running late she even followed up with me. Then when I got there things were already getting quieter gradually. I decided to stay nevertheless and treat myself to some a mind blowing steak with bread and vegetables along with wine, all ordered separately and have their own prices. This is where I wished they had a proper meal instead of you paying for each item. Just for myself I ended up paying $150+. On google the prices were a bit different and not the same as on the menu at they had in person. So yes it’s an expensive place to eat but hey I was told that they had a happy hour and the prices seem so much more reasonable. Nevertheless, not going to take away from the quality of not just food, but the venue and the server. If I recall his name correctly his name was Luke? He was very nice and professional. The venue itself had a dim light vibe aand there is a lounge section where they also have a piano which I think would be my favourite section. The steak was probably the best steak of my life. So thank you for the wonderful dinner and going out of your way to serve me beyond the regular hours. I appreciated your patience and left feeling pretty accomplished despite the higher prices.

Finally made it to Gotham after talking about it for three years, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. From the moment we walked in, the aesthetics and ambience stood out... antique, regal, and intimate, yet still lively. The music was great, and the entire team made us feel genuinely welcome. The servers were friendly, attentive, and a pleasure to chat with, which really elevated the experience. For appetizers, we started with the famous cheese toast (a must-order). Perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, honestly addictive. We also had the steak tartare, fresh oysters, and crab cake, all of which were beautifully prepared and full of flavor. A couple of cocktails to start set the tone for the evening. For mains, we shared the porterhouse steak, and you truly can’t go wrong with it. The steak was juicy, tender, and cooked perfectly, so easy to cut and incredibly satisfying. We paired it with mashed potatoes, creamed corn, asparagus, and peppercorn sauce, along with a glass of red wine, and everything complemented the steak perfectly. To finish, we had the old-fashioned chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, which was rich, decadent, and the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, Gotham delivers on atmosphere, service, and food. It’s a classic steakhouse experience done right, and definitely a place worth returning to. Highly recommend for a special night out.

Very delicious food. The steak was amazing. Yes, it is rather pricy. Around 175 for a 90z steak. Recommended to us medium and we took the suggestion. Meat was delicious. The onion rings and the mushroom fries were nice as well. Both tastes crispy still even towards the end of the meal.

Celebrating my birthday 🎂 here! Heard so much great things about here so we came for a Visit! We order two appetizers, 🥣soup of the day: I think they have different soup everyday but it was lamb 🐑 that day, it was alright for me~ 🥗 octopus 🐙 salad: yummy and sour, we would love to try spinach salad next time! Cheese 🧀 toast so yummy 😋 will definitely recommend people to order! Beef Carpaccio: loving 🥰 the truffle so much! Yummy! 😋 🥩: Dried Aged bone 🦴 in rib steak: soooo good! Loving it! Don’t miss out their steak 🥩 if you come Gotham to celebrate anything! Ordered the chocolate cake for this delightful birthday celebration and coffeee! Will definitely come back again!

The food quality and flavors were very good, and overall I enjoyed the experience. I have a mushroom allergy, and while the dish was prepared without mushrooms as requested, there wasn’t any substitution added, which slightly affected the balance of the dish. Had an incredible lunch at Hawksworth in Vancouver—honestly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while. The food was beautifully presented and every dish was balanced, thoughtful, and full of flavor. The space itself feels refined but still comfortable, not stuffy. What really made the experience stand out was the service. Our server was absolutely out of this world—attentive without hovering, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely warm. From the moment we stepped into Hawksworth, the experience set a high bar. We were greeted with a warm, genuine welcome at reception, and the transition into the main dining area was seamless—gracious without feeling scripted. Our server, Lou, elevated the evening with attentive and thoughtful service. Orders were handled with care, and recommendations were offered with confidence and insight, especially around what dishes paired well together. It felt less like upselling and more like being guided by someone who truly knows (and loves) the menu. The pear salad was an unexpected highlight. As someone who firmly believes blue cheese and I are not on speaking terms, I was pleasantly surprised. The blue cheese was balanced and restrained—enough to add character without overpowering the dish. I may have to admit that a new relationship with blue cheese has officially begun. The short ribs chimichurri with sweet potato were, quite simply, outstanding. Fork-tender, rich, and deeply flavorful, it melted in the mouth and made conversation pause for all the right reasons. Dessert sealed the deal. The malted chocolate torte with tonka bean ice cream and the rye chocolate sponge were indulgent, well-balanced, and memorable—decadent without being heavy. A perfect ending to a thoughtfully curated meal. I’ll admit, when I first saw the Dine Out Vancouver price point of $70, I was underwhelmed. But Hawksworth quickly proved me wrong. The quality, execution, service, and overall experience delivered far beyond expectations. This was money well spent—and a reminder that sometimes skepticism deserves to be politely shown the door. Hawksworth didn’t just participate in Dine Out Vancouver; they made it worth dining out for.

Dining at Hawksworth was a delicious and pleasant experience. All the staff were super welcoming and professional. All the food I ordered was cooked to well with a highlight being the carrot cake for dessert. I really enjoyed the pineapple purée on the cake as it gave a nice contrast between the sweet mascarpone and the cake. Overall, I would come back as it was a great experience.

We ordered beef carpaccio and Sunday prime rib dinner. The beef carpaccio was extremely small and had barely any beef. Prime rib was a little chewy and the broccolini that came as a side tasted burnt. Both my partner and I agreed that the keg prime rib was significantly better than this. The food looked way better than it tasted. The atmosphere and service were good. Nice wait staff.

Hy's was recommended to us by a couple we met the day before while out having some drinks. They said the steaks were great and the cheese toast to die for. So we figured we had one evening without dinner plans and why not give it a go. The cheese toast is amazing can confirm, also had the sautéed prawns which were cooked well and the sauce they come in delicious if I had know how good i would have ordered it with the cheese bread to dip into. As it was my wife kept the bowl with the sauce to dip her lobster in instead of butter. The French onion soup was the best one I have ever had, incredibly rich broth. We also had the table side Caesar salad, which was well prepared. I had the table side steak Diane also as it isn't something avaliable almost anywhere and I was very happy with my choice. The wife had filled and lobster both were cooked to perfection. The only thing we didn't love is the artwork which is a bit odd. But all in all a great dining experience. Our waitress Amanda did awesome preparing the table side cases and steak Diane. And Andrew in the bar was excellent as well when we had a few drinks prior to our reservation.

The food was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked halibut, a rich and flavourful steak, vibrant asparagus, and carrots that were elevated far beyond the ordinary. The tableside Caesar salad was a standout moment—fresh, interactive, and done with such care and precision. Took a friend here for her 40th birthday last night and it was exemplary. Rib-eye steak is my favourite cut so I am well versed in it, well Hy’s quality was absolutely above almost any I have enjoyed elsewhere. The char on the steak was delicious, the meat tender and cooked perfect med rare. The service was excellent, Alexei was fabulous. My only complaint (I wouldn’t even call it that) was the mash potatoes were not as creamy, or flavoured as I would have liked and their texture was not the best. The bill was pricey as to be expected but we purposely did not pay attention to the cost of anything when selecting our choices.

We found our steakhouse! Just wow! The steak was cooked to perfection on a charcoal grill, perfectly seasoned, tender medium well. The atmosphere was so fancy and high end. My husband brought me here for the first time although he had been here before. We’ve been to Elisa in Yaletown and have always tried booking there but was always full. So he recommended to go to Hy’s and I told why he only took me there now. We had an amazing dining experience! The ambiance, service of our host was top notched five stars and of course the food was worth the five stars price! We will definitely return!

Soup and dessert were so so, but very tempting to come pay a visit for another lunch again! Would love to try their steak burger 🍔 in the future! Definitely coming back again!

Had an excellent dine out Vancouver experience at the Keg on Dunsmuir downtown. 3 courses for only $58, great value. I had the lobster bisque, bread, prime rib with onion strings and a twice baked potato with a cheesecake for dessert. Exceptional service from Meghan. The only thing that puzzled me was the torn carpet in the bar area. I had trouble with my chair because it got caught on the carpet. They should cut it or glue it down. Otherwise, a great experience.

The Keg at Dunsmuir delivers exactly what you’d expect from this iconic steakhouse chain — and then some. The staff were genuinely warm and attentive, making the evening feel welcoming from the moment you walk in. The steak was consistent and cooked just right — exactly why The Keg has stayed a go-to for so many years. And the location on Dunsmuir? Hard to beat for a business dinner or a night out downtown. The Billy Miner Pie was the perfect ending — rich, indulgent, and worth every bite. A Keg classic that never disappoints. One letdown though: we missed out on the cheesy bread, which was a real disappointment. It’s one of those must-have starters, and not having it on the table left a noticeable gap in the experience. Hopefully that’s something they bring back or keep consistently available. Overall, a solid night out with great service, quality food, and a prime location. Would return — just making sure to sort out the cheesy bread situation next time. 😄

Celebrated a birthday and anniversary, and we left fully satisfied with the experience! Our server Sam was friendly, had a great sense of humour and was attentive. We ordered beef carpaccio, top sirloin, side of brussell sprouts and a billy miner pie - all were delicious and well presented. Portions were good and the steak was cooked perfectly! Our dinner and service deserved 5 stars!

I absolutely loved our date night experience here! Our waitress Taylor was very attentive and polite. We ordered dessert 1st as I usually do with a calamari shareable, which also contained jalapeños which I dont like, but I didnt see that they were apart of the order, but it didn't matter as I was able to put them to the side without the flavor of them on the calamari. We ordered the steak platter which consisted of 3 diff steaks, cooked to perfection! Im allergic to red wine, to which our waiter Taylor double checked with the cooks to make sure the sauces to the steak platter didn't contain red wine, the peppercorn sauce actually contains red wine n let the cooks know! The only picture I didn't get a picture of was the bread n herb n garlic butter which we were served at the start of our night! But the bread was crispy on the outside n soft n fluffy on the inside. My husband asked if he gets an employee discount for being apart of LFG group n we did get the discount! Absolutely loved the atmosphere n service at the Keg, my 2nd time being here, so much better service from the 1st time being here!the shrimp and scallops side was actually quite disappointing as there was only 2 shrimp and 3 scallops n like 6 peices of asparagus. But will deff be returning to try other menu items for sure.

Super friendly for single customer becoz they have bar table with tiny bbq stove ! Location is very good just few walks after exit Burrard station. I felt a bit Odd of their policy, every purchase just max 8pcs sashimi ,it is call "limited" AYCE, however, the sashimi taste good and thick! Besides other dishes are umlimited order! The BBQ beef is nice, i also ordered different rolls, which is taste good, too. I recommend ordered fried chick, scallop roll, i will come again if the day i want eat sushi ! ☺

Food was lowkey very mid. To be fair it’s ayce so it was pretty reasonable. Nothing really stood out, the sashimi was alright, I liked the hamachi but not really the tuna or salmon. The staff were very nice and attentive and helped us out a lot. The food came pretty quickly too, it wasn’t very busy on a Thursday night. I wish they gave a dipping sauce for the meat.

I visited for a friend’s birthday, and we had a really fun time. The concept is interactive because the meat is brought to your table and you cook it yourself, which makes the meal more enjoyable, especially when you’re with a group of friends. Its affordable & tasty for a unlimited meat & sashimi / sushi 😍🍣🍖 The service was a little bit slow (since most of the time there's a lot of people dinning in) so once you order it on the paper of how many items / food you want, just make sure you get enough coz it really takes time. It's too crowded too depending on the time & some other time you'll gonna wait up to 30 mins for you to be seated. So better call them first & have a reservation especially if you're in a group planning to dine in there. Lunch time doesn't have a dessert. Dinner time, had a coffee jelly. Parking was difficult to find, but there's a street parking elsewhere since its downtown.

Great atmosphere, stylish interior, and one of the nicer spots in North Vancouver for a casual dinner or late-night outing. The patio especially creates a really beautiful vibe at night with the lights and surrounding scenery. The complimentary sparkling wine at the beginning was a nice touch and made the experience feel welcoming from the start. The food overall was good and presentation was excellent. The steak was cooked properly and flavorful, and the sushi pairing was surprisingly enjoyable as well. Portions were decent and the menu had a good variety of options for different tastes. Service was friendly and professional, although the restaurant was quite busy and things felt a little slower than expected at times. A few small details could be improved considering the pricing, which is slightly on the expensive side. That said, the overall experience, atmosphere, and location still made the night enjoyable. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was lovely. We were even offered a glass of sparkling wine while we waited which was a nice touch. The food was delicious, especially the hummus and pita bread. The only dish that could use some improvement was the spicy lobster pasta. I’d happily pay a little more if it came with a more generous portion of lobster, as the pieces were quite small. Overall, it was a great dining experience and a wonderful restaurant in downtown. I’d definitely come back.

We’ve been to JOEY more than 20 times over the past five years, usually with our entire family, but this visit was especially memorable. This time, it was just my husband and me enjoying a date night, and Sarah made the evening truly special. She was warm, attentive, and an absolute delight. What impressed us most was how carefully she listened, she surprised us by serving dessert with a thoughtful note that said, “Happy Date Night.” It was such a personal and meaningful touch. This was genuinely the best experience we’ve had at JOEY in five years. Sarah deserves full credit for going above and beyond and making our date night unforgettable. JOEY Burrard is a very lovely restaurant with a modern, sleek, contemporary feel. They were able to accommodate me and my friend without a reservation on a busy dinner night, which I really appreciated. Service was excellent. Everyone was sweet, attentive, and welcoming, and the complimentary welcome bubbles were a nice touch. The short rib dip was good, though not especially memorable. The udon carbonara with chicken katsu was the standout for me, and my colleague’s salmon was also solid. Overall, I’d definitely come back. It may not be life-changing food, but it’s a reliable, polished spot with good vibes, decent drinks, friendly service, and a lovely atmosphere for lunch or dinner indoors or outdoors.

Nice and quiet restaurant with pretty tasty food. When I came it was quite empty which was a shame because it's definitely a place worth visiting. Service was very kind and fast, always with a smile and a nice conversation. Food came out quickly, and tasted well. The food was quite good but was a bit expansive and you expect more for that price. The schnitzel was well balanced with the ranch and the mashed potatoes which I really enjoyed.

I love Diva at the Met because I’m obsessed with pasta and they have such delicious stuffed pasta and seafood pasta dishes. My kids loved it too, and the burgers were really good. They also have cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks, so it’s the perfect place to enjoy with family or even by yourself.

We enjoyed an excellent Dine Out Vancouver dinner at Diva at the Metropolitan. The service was truly exceptional—Eka, the Assistant Manager, was so welcoming and ensured we had a wonderful evening, and Maraya was an attentive, friendly server. Every course was a hit: the Beet & Burrata Salad was fresh and light, the Braised Short Rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender on a bed of risotto, and the Pistachio Tiramisu was absolutely heavenly. It was also excellent value for a downtown hotel dinner. I highly recommend Diva at the Met. We look forward to another visit!

Tried this place twice. They have really limited vegetarian options. Have tried their truffle grilled cheese + tomato soup from lunch feature which is for 25 and is pretty reasonable. The taste of grilled cheese and soup was really delicious. Apart from this, tried their butternut squash kofta which was okay. It didn't have much gravy as opposed to the usual kofta dishes. Although they did have a piece of khakhar added to the dish which tasted really good.
