i got very severe decision paralysis from this huge menu and i have so many regrets about my life choices. the hot dogs were a tad disappointing tbh — the bun was very normal looking and wasn’t very fresh. i think it would’ve been a lot yummier if it was fresh. the cheese on the tonkatsu dog was a bit plasticky, although it did make it more flavourful. the wagyu menchi katsu dog was vEry juicy, you could tell that it actually was very high quality (unlike the bread), and its heavy flavour was balanced by the sweet sauce. however the cutlet actually only took up like half of the bun so half of the time you were literally just eating mayo and slaw. both the tonkatsu and menchikatsu were fried FRESH so it was served nice and piping hot.
compared to the hot dogs, the desserts were MUCHHHHH better. the black sesame milkshake was so good — it wasn’t too sweet, but there was a great black sesame flavour. the age ice cream buns were also reALLLY yummy. the fried, crispy sweet buns were really warm and paired so perfectly with the (not too sweet) cold and smooth matcha ice cream. the sugar coating the bun also elevated it — honestly these fried buns were such a highlight.

Really yummy out-of-the-box fusion menu that we remembered from a trip to Vancouver about a decade ago. Back then it was a food truck, and it’s nice to return to find a store front to sit and eat. The menu has grown and we really liked the Japanese inspired nori and bonito topped dogs. Our son had the cheese/beef topped one and it was 🫤. The savory choices are delicious, and I’m hoping to visit again to try the takoyaki and poutines. Tip: the butter and soy fries are delicious!!

Hot diggity dog, it's been a while since I had a Japadog but it's still the top dog for me. To celebrate their 20th(!) anniversary, Japadog is giving away free hot dogs from May 1-3: Korubata Terimayo, Okonomi, or Beef Bacon Cheese.
I went with their classic Korubata Terimayo and it was as delicious as I remember. The Korubata pork sausage was so juicy and had some snap to it from the grill; it perfectly complemented the soft texture of the hot dog bun. With the fried onions, teriyaki sauce, Japanese mayo, and seaweed, it was the perfect combination of sweet and savoury.
I got there right at 5pm and only waited 30 minutes. Japadog's small but mighty team was so well-organized, efficient, and friendly. There was even a staff member dressed as a hot dog which I found so endearing and funny.
Congrats, Japadog, on an incredible 20 years in Vancouver and thank you again for the delicious hot dog. You are a staple in our city. Here's to another 20+!

While it was definitely not your regular hot dog, it did not blow me away as I was expecting. It was a tad pricy, but not too crazy. There are definitely some interesting combinations (over 20) so perhaps what I had (the #6 Yakisoba and the #1) just didn't hit it for me. Their fries are good though and it was a cool atmosphere.

We made reservations at Gotham to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. From the start, we were warmly greeted by a friendly hostess and promptly seated. Our server was attentive and did wish us a happy anniversary, which we appreciated.
We started with the crab cakes and garlic shrimp appetizers—both were absolutely delicious. For our entrées, my husband ordered the steak while I had the lamb chops. We also shared three side dishes: mushrooms, mashed potatoes, and asparagus. Everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and we truly enjoyed the meal from start to finish.
We were so full by the end of the meal that we skipped dessert. Our total bill came to around $470, and while the food and service were excellent, I was a bit disappointed that the restaurant didn’t do more to acknowledge our special occasion. A complimentary dessert or celebratory touch would have gone a long way in making the evening feel more memorable, especially given the price point.
Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, but the lack of any personalized gesture for our anniversary left us wanting just a bit more from such a high-end restaurant.

Had the most amazing experience at Gotham. Our server Anne Marie was not only attentive, but brought an amazing energy to our dining experience. Luke, Zach, Brandon and Won were also so lovely.
Food was phenomenal, went for “social hour”- great deal! Would highly recommend the steak and shrimp skewer and oysters. Everything was perfectly cooked and staff ensured we were enjoying our meals. Patio was a beautiful ambiance and music really set the vibe.
Certainly expensive but worth it if you enjoy fine dining! A little surprised that the old fashion had multiple ice cubes as opposed to the classic king cube but all in all, would recommend! Thank you staff!

Not only was the food top-notch, but the server who took care of us all night,Jamie, was absolutely wonderful. He was so friendly and took the time to explain the menu and the dishes, offering great recommendations. He even took photos for us, making the experience extra special. We never felt rushed; instead, we felt truly taken care of. I ordered the steak and lobster with mashed potatoes, cheese toast, and marinated vegetables, and it was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic dinner at Gotham. The server was attentive and made sure everything came out just right. The steaks were tender and seasoned perfectly. Their sticky toffee pudding was the highlight of the night, rich and absolutely delicious.

Booked for a surprise birthday lunch for a colleague and the entire team were exceptionally mindful and accommodating from the hostesses to the front of house staff. We were able to be seated outside in the beautiful courtyard patio and were recommended delicious wine. Our server, Seeun, was simply outstanding. She was thoughtful to adjust the dish and I appreciated her attentiveness to be available but never disrupt. The food was delicious, ambiance was soothing, and service was impeccable. This continues to be one of my most favourite restaurants in Vancouver for an elevated experience.

Went to Hawksworth for our anniversary dinner and had a great time. Portions were solid for the price. We started with the mussels (really good), then had the pork & scallops and lamb chop for mains — both were excellent. Tried the cabbage and mushroom sides, but they were both so salty — would skip sides next time and go for another appy or main instead. Finished with the Basque cheesecake, which was just okay (not as good as the ones we had in Spain recently). Service by Lou was friendly and attentive, and we got complimentary bubbly to celebrate. Would definitely go back, just order a bit differently next time.

My boyfriend and I went to Hawksworth to celebrate our anniversary, and we had such a wonderful experience. The rib eye and veal steak were absolutely amazing, perfectly cooked and full of flavour.
Special shoutout to our server, Jenna, who was exceptional throughout the night. Due to some circumstances, she had to move our table, but she was so attentive and generous that we weren’t bothered by the change at all. Her thoughtful service made our night even more special. Loved everything about the evening, we’ll definitely be back!

We had dinner at Hawksworth last night and overall, it was a nice evening out. A few of the dishes were larger than expected, which was a pleasant surprise given the price of dining out these days — always nice when it feels like you’re getting some value.
That said, my main — the veal cutlet — was unfortunately overly salty. And I tend to like my food on the saltier side, so for me to say it was too salty really means something. The waitress was great about it and kindly offered to replace the dish. Shortly after, the manager came by as well, apologized, and offered the same, which I appreciated. I decided not to go for a replacement of the same item as I figured it might come out similarly, and while I considered ordering something else, I just lost my appetite.
To their credit, they comped the dish and also offered a dessert on the house. So while the dish itself was a miss, the service was absolutely excellent — thoughtful, proactive, and professional from start to finish.
All in all, I’d give it 4 stars. Not a knock on the service at all, but more a reflection of the food experience that evening. Would still come back and give it another shot.

We went to this restaurant for girls’ night and were unfortunately disappointed by the service. Our server seemed completely indifferent to us. They didn’t check in on us and forgot about our condiments. However, everyone else was great. The food was really tasty, especially the halibut and salmon— focaccia could use more seasoning, though.
Overall, it’s a good place, maybe we just caught our server at a bad day?

Food was mediocre as best, we ordered the 20oz dry aged steak and asked to be in medium. It was super charred on the outside and dried, looked like it was deep fried on the outside than grilled. Super disappointed but server said it’s normal for Hy’s as they wood charcoal their steaks. But let me tell you, I have not tasted a $200 steak this bitter and dried. Cesar salad, cheese toast, desserts are average at best, we booked for a birthday celebration and received no complementary desserts. Overall, I wouldn’t come back again as the quality of food is comparable to Joey, cactus club and earls but they charged a high premium.

Cheese toast lacks the taste that it used to have. Ahi Tuna was terrible. Escargot was less than mediocre. Caesar salad was too salty. Porterhouse was the only saving grace of this meal. Cheese cake tastes like something from a package. Will not be visiting this restaurant anytime soon.
Winson - a week ago
I ordered the ribeye Chicago style, rare, with a Caesar salad and it was outstanding. The steak was cooked perfectly — beautifully charred on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside, exactly the rare doneness I was hoping for. Every bite was rich, flavorful, and showed off the quality of the beef.
The Caesar salad was a highlight as well. Made tableside, it was crisp, creamy, and balanced with just the right amount of garlic, Parmesan, and anchovy. A perfect start before the steak.
The combination of top-notch ingredients, expert preparation, and classic presentation made this one of the best steakhouse meals I’ve had in Vancouver. Absolutely worth 5 stars.

Visiting here with a friends who were in town was an absolute treat. From start to finish, the experience felt upscale, classic, and indulgent — exactly what you want for a special night out.
We kicked things off with a spread of seafood appetizers; there was a freshness to everything that set high expectations for the rest of the meal. The prawns in the prawn cocktail were firm and sweet, and every bite reminded me seafood done well is all about balance. We also tried the cheese toast — rich, gooey, indulgent — it warmed us up for more.
For my entree I went with a surf and turf, and wow, did it deliver. The steak was cooked to perfection — juicy, flavorful, and the crust had that satisfying sear. The lobster side was excellent too; tender, sweet, and paired beautifully with drawn butter. My friend ordered a Beef Wellington and was similarly impressed: generous cut, cooked just right, with good seasoning. The sides complemented the mains well, nothing clashed, and everything felt well thought-out.
Service here deserves its own praise. The staff were professional, attentive and polished. They knew the menu well and were patient with questions. The ambiance reinforces the fine‑dining feel — dark woods, refined decor, comfortable lighting — creating an atmosphere that’s formal but not stuffy.
Dessert was one of the highlights. I had the bananas foster which was done tableside. The presentation itself was almost ceremonial — the flames, the caramelized bananas — but more importantly, the taste matched the drama. Sweet but not overwhelming, creamy, with that caramel‑and‑rum finish that makes you pause and savor. Truly memorable.

Old world charm with delightfully relaxed service. Andrew was fantastic our entire meal, expertly preparing our table side dishes of choice (Caesar salad and bananas Foster), and offering great conversation and trivia throughout. Everything we ate was excellent, but the service was the real star here. A very special night out we’ll be sure to repeat!

I came here a little late into the evening on a Saturday. There was plenty of room both at the bar and tables. I was quickly seated. My server was super fun and made some great recommendations. I ended up with the blackened chicken, which really hit the spot. The mac & cheese is definitely made in house. The dessert was divine. I have been to The Keg at locations in Toronto and Montreal. This one in Vancouver was no different in terms of high quality and service.

We celebrated my birthday at The Keg Steakhouse and had a truly memorable evening. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with complimentary sourdough and cheese to start off our meal – an excellent way to build our appetite. The bar impressed us with a wide selection of cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages; I opted for a Shirley Temple that was deliciously sweet, though slightly on the watered-down side.
Our server, Dallas, struck the perfect balance of professionalism and humour. He anticipated our needs, answered all our questions, and even shared the charming history behind the classic Billy Miner Pie® that the restaurant kindly gifted us for my birthday. The pie itself was delightful.
As for the steak, it was outstanding. I chose the 10 oz Top Sirloin, and my girlfriend enjoyed the Filet Mignon. Both were cooked to perfection, tender and flavourful. It was the best steak I'd ever had. The elegant decor and spotless facilities, including the washrooms, enhanced the experience, making it feel both upscale and welcoming.
All in all, The Keg delivered exceptional food, attentive service, and a warm atmosphere. I look forward to returning and highly recommend it for any special celebration or a night out with friends.

We had a wonderful dining experience at The Keg Steakhouse. Cathleen provided excellent service and manager Brandon made sure we were well taken care of, which really elevated the evening.
We ordered the prime steak. While it was good, I personally felt it could have used a little more marinade, and there was also a bit more fat on the meat than I expected. With the vibrant atmosphere and the excellent service, the expectations are naturally very high, so I was hoping for something a little more refined.
That said, the shrimp were outstanding and the salad was fresh and flavorful. Overall, a very positive experience with top-quality service and a lively vibe.

We stopped in on 06/30/2025 before the Run the Jewels and Wu-Tang Clan concert at Rogers Arena. We went in not knowing what we wanted other than some drinks.
I had the onion rings as I had realized in all my years of going to the Keg I had never tried. Well I feel dumb for not trying sooner, the flavor and crunchy batter. This was in my top 3 onion rings I have had. (will need to have at other locations)
My friend had mac n cheese no photo and the summer special raspberry sorbet. He said the sorbet was creamy and packed with intense flavor and would have a again.
Our server was fantastic kept the drinks full and when we needed to pay was prompt with the bills and machine.
I will be back when I have more time and can enjoy a steak with some onion rings.

Exceptional experience celebrating Mother's Day at [Keg Restaurant]! From start to finish, everything was 10/10 - drinks, mains, and dessert. This was my first time at Shabusen, and I’ll admit, I was a bit skeptical about the whole AYCE (all-you-can-eat) concept in Vancouver. That skepticism disappeared quickly.
From the moment we walked in, the service stood out. Every staff member—from the host to the food runners—was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. No rushed attitudes, no frowns. They even swapped out our BBQ grill without us asking, which was a nice surprise. Food came out fast, and empty plates were cleared away efficiently, keeping our table fresh and uncluttered.
I originally came here just for the salmon sashimi, but ended up trying a wide range of dishes—and loved them all. The quality of the food exceeded expectations, and the variety made it even better.
If you can, I recommend coming for dinner. The price is a bit higher, but you get nearly double the menu choices compared to lunch, making it well worth it. Definitely a spot I’d return to.

Shabusen is one of my favorite spots, whenever I’m craving sushi and BBQ.The BBQ pork here is seriously amazing, super juicy and flavorful. Every time I come, I can’t help but order way too much of it because it’s just too good. The sushi rolls are fresh and packed with flavor, and the sashimi is buttery and melts in your mouth.Everything always tastes so satisfying.Even when it gets busy, the service stays friendly and fast, and the food keeps coming without too much wait. If you’re looking for a place that has a good mix of fresh sushi, sashimi, and BBQ, I definitely recommend this place. Always hits the spot!

The quality of the meat wasn't the best but it was expected since it was an AYCE restaurant. The kimchi was a little too sweet, and the quality of the sushi wasn't great either. The menu wasn't very clear that some food items only come out as 1 piece per quantity ordered, and service was so-so.

Decent AYCE Sushi and KBBQ restaurant among the crowd of nearby restaurants. Service was good, though at times we would have to get our servers' attention rather than having them periodically check up on us. The food itself was good. The sashimi was pretty fresh, and the cuts of meat were delicious. Though, the sushi was a bit bland and boring - primarily the Dynamite Roll. All in all, Shabusen is one of the better AYCE options in Vancouver, and definitely give the AYCE dinner option a try.

What. A. Restaurant!!!!!!! Rocked up here mid week for a 9:30pm reservation. Super sexy looking 👀 restaurant/ bar on fancy Burrard Street. We were warmly welcomed aside an enormous wine wall and asked if we would prefer the lounge or bar area?? I decided in the bar as there were numerous TVs playing sport and the music sounded good- lots of atmosphere, sophisticated, edgy design with big bar area and large sliding door opening up to a spacious patio area 🔥. Sat in a booth and looked after by Edwin who was a top boy🤜🏻💥Ace menu , so good in fact we struggled to decide. Incredible tastes, expertly cooked- perfect in fact. Washed down with negroni , pinot Grigio and beer. Take a look at the pics😳😳 I even took a pic of the toilet as it was so cool!!!!
Thank you Joey Burrard for a fantastic night out. Thanks to the staff - high attention to detail yet layed back and friendly. Thank you designers- you have an incredible gift to imagine the concept, materials, lighting and nail it. As Arnie said- I’ll be back. My favourite Vancouver 🇨🇦 restaurant🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼Book it👌🏻

We had our after-work meal here and tried the crispy tempura prawn and the roasted corn guacamole—both were excellent! Super tasty and delicious. It was during happy hour, but the lounge area where the happy hour menu is normally served was already full. We asked if we could sit in the dining area but still order from the happy hour menu, and they kindly said yes, which we really appreciated.
That said, I do have a couple of thoughts. First, why is the happy hour menu restricted to only one section of the restaurant? It feels unnecessarily limiting. And second, something I found quite unusual: typically, happy hour items are regular menu items offered at a lower price during certain hours. But here, the happy hour menu has items that aren’t even available on the regular menu! I’ve honestly never seen that anywhere else—it’s a bit strange.

We came here for Happy Hour to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. My sister and I shared the Szechuan lettuce wrap with chicken, one of my favourites; it’s the right balance of sweet & spice. We all shared and enjoyed the truffle fries, roasted corn guacamole and the secret /not so secret, ever famous Crispy mashed potatoes. It’s not on the menu, only regulars would know about this and I highly recommended to try when visiting Joeys.
From the time we were seated, the hostess / Manager Erika took care of us. The service is wonderful as always. I have been coming here for many years and I’m happy they still uphold such high standards when it comes to customer service. Our server is so sweet, she surprised my daughter with a plate of delicious brownies and Joeys gifted her with a movie gift card. My daughter is very happy and I’m just in awe of this level of customer service.
Just a quick note, our server forgot to remind us of the last call for happy hour. It’s not a big deal, I should have known it ends at 5 since I’ve been here many times. Overall we really enjoyed all the food, wine, the impeccable service; I can’t wait to come back.

Great atmosphere and service.
Had a sangria which tasted amazing along with the guacamole starter, which was the highlight of our dinner there.
For mains, I had the Korean tofu bowl, which was good. Could've had better flavors.. my friend ordered a chicken dish in a thai peanut sauce which she absolutely loved.
Would definitely go back for more.

I was not expecting it to be so good !!
We tried a few different cocktails and all were amazing. A pretty good variety of different types of drinks.
We came in during happy hour. My favourite drink was a spicy mango cocktail.
Truffle fries were crisp + seasoned well, also had carbonara and fish tacos. Carbonara was rich, fish tacos were cooked perfectly not too heavy.

We had a very enjoyable time here. The chicken tikka, served with spinach saag and corn bread was interesting, not what we expected, but very tasty and spicy. Desserts were fab, a cherry chocolate fondant and strawberry shortcake with strawberry compote and a mousse. These were the highlights! Our server Fernanda was a joy.
Highly recommended.

Went for happy hour before going to the theatre. Drinks and food were great. Service started out great then declined. Server forgot to place our order, it wasn’t busy at all, maybe 7-8 tables, food took forever to arrive, very warm in there no AC in July ! Seems it’s definitely not like it used to be. Even my bill had someone else’s order on it, an extra $35 so server had to get it redone. The appetizers were delicious, beetroot hummus and buttermilk chicken bites. Unfortunately we won’t be back, they need to improve since there is a lot of competition in Vancouver
