5 Star Rating Trying Japadog in Vancouver was one of those food experiences that truly lives up to the hype. Located in the heart of the city, this iconic spot blends Japanese flavors with the classic hot dog in a way that feels both creative and incredibly satisfying. I started with the Wagyu Terimayo dog, and honestly, it was one of the best hot dogs I’ve ever tried. The Wagyu sausage was juicy, rich, and perfectly cooked, with a deep beefy flavor that stood out from the first bite. The teriyaki sauce added a sweet and savory balance, while the Japanese mayo gave it a creamy, smooth finish without overpowering the meat. Every ingredient felt intentional, and the combination worked flawlessly. Then I tried the Yakisoba dog, which was something completely different and far from a “normal” hot dog—in the best way possible. The yakisoba noodles on top added texture and heartiness, turning it into a unique fusion dish rather than just street food. It was flavorful, slightly sweet, slightly savory, and surprisingly well-balanced. Definitely not something you eat every day, but that’s exactly what made it special. Japadog is fun, bold, and memorable. If you’re in Vancouver and want to try a hot dog that breaks all the rules while still tasting amazing, this place is a must.

4 Star Rating I had an overnight layover in Vancouver, and this is the place I chose to go for my only meal in the city; that’s how good it is. I first tried Japadog years ago, and it made a lasting impression for the most unique hot dog offerings. Everything on the menu deserves its own individual shoutout: the drinks, the hot dogs, the poutine, the dessert ice cream, everything is simply worth a visit! Even late at night, there was always someone in line. This time around, I visited a bit late at night, which was a new experience. My only two complaints and reasons for the one star short is that we were left to dine in the cold since the indoor dining closed after 10pm, and many of the fan favorite menu items were completely sold out. I would suggest for the owners to invest in an outdoor heater to keep customers warm in the wintertime if it’s not possible to extend dining hours indoors past 10pm. And given the demand for some of the menu items, it might be prudent to maintain supplies to keep up with the demand. I’m sure I’m not the only person who returns hoping to taste something, and it would be disappointing to leave without a chance, especially as we travel from other countries. Overall, Japadog is just as great as I remembered. Although I didn’t get a chance to order the items I wanted, I had fun exploring new menu varieties. Definitely looking forward to next time….

4 Star Rating The kurobuta dogs are pretty good along with the shaken fry options. I like the original but my husband has tried some of the more adventurous options like the yakiniku one and loved it. The service is always great. My only complaint is that the space itself is dirty and is a bit unappetizing. Love that they're open so late!

5 Star Rating I've been going to JapaDog forever ! It is a Vancouver classic and the Robson location never disappoints! We had the Wagyu Terimayo and the Ebi Tempura dog both packed with flavor and so unique. The drinks were refreshing (Japanade Pink Lemonade and Yuzu Matcha Lemonade) and the shaker fries were incredible, especially the Shichimi & Garlic and the Butter & Shoyu. The staff were friendly, the food came out quickly, and the whole experience reminded me why JapaDog has been loved here for 20 years. Definitely worth the hype!

5 Star Rating We’re spending one day in Vancouver before boarding a cruise and Japadog just happened to be a block from our hotel. We’ve seen a YouTube video about it and it looked amazing so we knew when we booked our hotel that that would be our first stop after checking in. It’s a small place and quite busy, but it’s busy for a really good reason. The staff is super friendly and helpful, especially for Japadog newbies. I was super happy to see that there were vegetarian options of the exact dogs I wanted to try. The flavor of these dogs is unreal and unlike anything we’ve ever tried before. We are planning a longer trip to Vancouver and you’d better believe Japadog will be a regular stop!

5 Star Rating Gotham Steakhouse is an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between upscale and welcoming, making it ideal for both special occasions and business dinners. The service is polished, attentive, and genuinely professional without ever feeling rushed. The food is outstanding. Steaks are cooked to absolute perfection, beautifully seasoned, and of consistently high quality. The menu offers excellent variety, from classic cuts to thoughtfully prepared seafood and sides that elevate the entire meal. Every dish reflects precision, care, and top-tier ingredients. What truly sets Gotham apart is its consistency—everything operates at a very high standard, from the kitchen to the front of house. It is a benchmark steakhouse that delivers exactly what you expect and more. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience.

5 Star Rating In my recent trip to Vancouver, I decided to treat myself a birthday dinner at this place. I got there later than I had wanted. Firstly, the receptionist, she was so nice on the phone. When I was running late she even followed up with me. Then when I got there things were already getting quieter gradually. I decided to stay nevertheless and treat myself to some a mind blowing steak with bread and vegetables along with wine, all ordered separately and have their own prices. This is where I wished they had a proper meal instead of you paying for each item. Just for myself I ended up paying $150+. On google the prices were a bit different and not the same as on the menu at they had in person. So yes it’s an expensive place to eat but hey I was told that they had a happy hour and the prices seem so much more reasonable. Nevertheless, not going to take away from the quality of not just food, but the venue and the server. If I recall his name correctly his name was Luke? He was very nice and professional. The venue itself had a dim light vibe aand there is a lounge section where they also have a piano which I think would be my favourite section. The steak was probably the best steak of my life. So thank you for the wonderful dinner and going out of your way to serve me beyond the regular hours. I appreciated your patience and left feeling pretty accomplished despite the higher prices.

5 Star Rating Before I even finished my meal I told my boyfriend this was the best birthday dinner ever! I was absolutely blown away by everything at Gotham. From the second you walk in, you are met with warm smiles and fantastic hospitality . The Christmas decor was a beautiful touch. Our server was attentive, kind and really made our first dining experience here memorable. Now the food? I could go on for ages about but there’s no doubt this is th best steakhouse dinner I’ve ever had. The meat would melt in mouth . The ceasar salad was perfectly garlicky and the side of lemon takes it up a notch. But what really stole the show for us was the sticky toffee pudding…I’ll have dreams about it! From beginning to end it was the most attentive and delicious dinner I’ve had in quite some time. Highly recommend

5 Star Rating Excellent place. We started with the cheese toast, a succulent appetizer. For mains, we ordered the fillet mignon rare and the 20-oz bone-in ribeye medium rare. The fillet was super tender, while the ribeye was very flavorful. Both were cooked to order. As a side dish, we ordered their lyonnaise potatoes, which did not disappoint. For dessert, we had the key lime pie (very creamy, but a touch too sweet) and the Belgian chocolate bourbon cake. The service was very friendly and professional. Our waiter was very thorough with all descriptions and they let us try several wines to pick our glasses. The atmosphere is demure and warm. We spent $321 for two after tax before tip and it was totally worth it.

5 Star Rating Finally made it to Gotham after talking about it for three years, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. From the moment we walked in, the aesthetics and ambience stood out... antique, regal, and intimate, yet still lively. The music was great, and the entire team made us feel genuinely welcome. The servers were friendly, attentive, and a pleasure to chat with, which really elevated the experience. For appetizers, we started with the famous cheese toast (a must-order). Perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, honestly addictive. We also had the steak tartare, fresh oysters, and crab cake, all of which were beautifully prepared and full of flavor. A couple of cocktails to start set the tone for the evening. For mains, we shared the porterhouse steak, and you truly can’t go wrong with it. The steak was juicy, tender, and cooked perfectly, so easy to cut and incredibly satisfying. We paired it with mashed potatoes, creamed corn, asparagus, and peppercorn sauce, along with a glass of red wine, and everything complemented the steak perfectly. To finish, we had the old-fashioned chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, which was rich, decadent, and the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, Gotham delivers on atmosphere, service, and food. It’s a classic steakhouse experience done right, and definitely a place worth returning to. Highly recommend for a special night out.

4 Star Rating Dining at Hawksworth was a delicious and pleasant experience. All the staff were super welcoming and professional. All the food I ordered was cooked to well with a highlight being the carrot cake for dessert. I really enjoyed the pineapple purée on the cake as it gave a nice contrast between the sweet mascarpone and the cake. Overall, I would come back as it was a great experience.

5 Star Rating Hawksworth Restaurant was the perfect choice to celebrate our 10-year anniversary. My wife and I loved the cozy, warm atmosphere and the beautifully decorated space. The staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, and the sommelier did an excellent job helping us select a wine that perfectly complemented our meal. The salmon tartare, risotto, and mixed green salad were all delicious, and the pork and scallops were an absolute 10/10. A beautiful restaurant and an unforgettable dining experience. We are so glad we went.

3 Star Rating We ordered beef carpaccio and Sunday prime rib dinner. The beef carpaccio was extremely small and had barely any beef. Prime rib was a little chewy and the broccolini that came as a side tasted burnt. Both my partner and I agreed that the keg prime rib was significantly better than this. The food looked way better than it tasted. The atmosphere and service were good. Nice wait staff.

2 Star Rating Hawksworth Restaurant has always been one of the most highly praised restaurants in the past decade, if not longer. Sadly, that is no longer the case after a recent visit. Dishes are no longer sent out with quality control, poor ingredient combinations, and there is a lack of aesthetics just to name a few. When the server brought the first dish, Prosciutto di san daniele with pickled vegetables, it was an embarrassing moment for me in front of my guests. No one wanted this extremely low quality meat and vegetables paired with unappetizing plating until the table was halfway cleared. The beets dish was sprinkled with cumin, pork collar was cooked in a sweet soy sauce that is similar to the Chinese dish braised pork. Since when did Hawksworth become a fusion restaurant? If I wanted fusion food, there are plenty of places elsewhere to visit at a much better price. Beef carpaccio was not fresh, fries that came with the burger were stale, scallops were too salty, and the duck confit was dry. The best dish that day was the baby kale salad. Why did I not bring these issues up with the server? Because it would be impossible to fix any of these problems without proper management at the establishment, and I do not care how the business runs in the future. The Hawksworth Group just lost a customer who used to buy thousands of dollars in gift cards. After the remaining balance is used, it will be a forever goodbye to Hawksworth Restaurant and all of its other businesses under his name.

5 Star Rating I went for happy hour at 5pm. You can only sit on the patio or lounge for happy hour. Restaurant seating is not available if you want to order their happy hour menu. Fridays are best with $2 oysters and half price bubbles. Definitely worth it. The dozen of oysters was so worth it. Super fresh and sweet. Fanny bay oysters were very large and meaty. Worth the $2 a piece. Tempura oysters were delicious. Oysters were fresh and the batter was so light. Very well done at $10 happy hour pricing. Beef carpaccio is well seasoned. Maybe a bit small for the price even at happy hour. Beets were delicious. The sauce paired well with the sweet beets. Truffle fries are not memorable. Fries are a bit hard after frying. Had two cocktails. The one with ginger beer was delicious. Well worth the price and so tasty. Hawksworth cocktail was okay. Still tasty but the one with ginger beer was better. Overall, I enjoy the food at Hawksworth. Would come again to try another menu.

4 Star Rating Seating is limited to the upstairs while the main floor is undergoing renovations. The ambiance is modern and chic. The service professionals are exactly that. Andrew took care of us as we didn't even look at the menu. We started with cheesy cheese bread which was definitely cheesy but more like a a fancy grilled cheese sandwich. The ceasar salad prepared at the table was old school and classic. The thirty two oz prime rib was delicious and cooked perfectly, while the mashed potatoes and roasted mushrooms were tasty but not overwhelming. The presentation of my plate was nothing special. Dessert was rich, velvety and tasty. Coffee was adequate. Overall the service (Andrew) was excellent and the food was tasty. Prices are more on the higher side but not shocking. I would most likely return when the main floor has reopened.

5 Star Rating Went in for a solo night and it was EXACTLY what I needed. Point blank. It was a classic, cozy, dim lighting, and instantly feels like a treat. I ordered a mezcal sour (my go-to) and it was perfection…froth all over my lips and everything LOL!! You know it’s good when you take a delicious sip and instead of got milk, it’s got froth? HA love! Food was incredible too. Steak cooked just the way I like it, and the whole plate was just so satisfying. But honestly, the service is what made the night! Blown away by the outgoing, genuinely kind, and they checked in a lot without it ever feeling annoying. They made eating alone feel easy and actually really enjoyable. Nailed it Hy’s!!

5 Star Rating We had the most incredible experience at Hy's Steakhouse & Cocktail Bar celebrating my brother’s birthday! From the moment we walked in, everything felt special, warm atmosphere, attentive service, and amazing food. Chris, our server, was fantastic, friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole night feel effortless and celebratory. Truly top-notch service. We shared a variety of dishes and every single one was outstanding. The famous cheese toast absolutely lived up to the hype, and the Caesar salad prepared right at the table was such a fun (and delicious) experience. The black & blue ahi tuna was perfectly done, and the jumbo prawn cocktail was fresh and full of flavour. For mains, the long bone Berkshire pork chop with mashed potatoes and bourbon apple reduction was unbelievably tender and rich (photo added!), and the 8oz filet was cooked to perfection. We finished with the bananas foster, flambéed tableside and served with vanilla ice cream, which was the perfect sweet ending. I also had the Red Beret to drink and it was amazing, highly recommend! Everything from the food to the service to the overall atmosphere made this such a memorable celebration. We’ll absolutely be back!

4 Star Rating Came here after many years. It’s still a dark dungeon of a restaurant with no light or windows. Service is great, food is well prepared and on point. The rack of lamb is حالال. Sides and desserts are good. It is too pricey overall for what you get. I’d prefer Elisa or Black and Blue if I had a choice. The Whistler Hy’s is on another level compared to this location.

A warm, lively, intimate atmosphere, exceptionally polite, informative and skilled waitstaff (more on that later) and a wide selection of delicious entrées. The tableside preparation is a unique and exciting option, as waiters here will literally make your meal right besides you. I recommended the caesar salad, steak Diane and the bananas foster in particular. The drinks are quite varied as well and I particularly enjoy their takes on classic cocktails. 5 Star Rating I absolutely loved our date night experience here! Our waitress Taylor was very attentive and polite. We ordered dessert 1st as I usually do with a calamari shareable, which also contained jalapeños which I dont like, but I didnt see that they were apart of the order, but it didn't matter as I was able to put them to the side without the flavor of them on the calamari. We ordered the steak platter which consisted of 3 diff steaks, cooked to perfection! Im allergic to red wine, to which our waiter Taylor double checked with the cooks to make sure the sauces to the steak platter didn't contain red wine, the peppercorn sauce actually contains red wine n let the cooks know! The only picture I didn't get a picture of was the bread n herb n garlic butter which we were served at the start of our night! But the bread was crispy on the outside n soft n fluffy on the inside. My husband asked if he gets an employee discount for being apart of LFG group n we did get the discount! Absolutely loved the atmosphere n service at the Keg, my 2nd time being here, so much better service from the 1st time being here!the shrimp and scallops side was actually quite disappointing as there was only 2 shrimp and 3 scallops n like 6 peices of asparagus. But will deff be returning to try other menu items for sure.

I had the lobster bisque, bread, prime rib with onion strings and a twice baked potato with a cheesecake for dessert. Exceptional service from Meghan. The only thing that puzzled me was the torn carpet in the bar area. I had trouble with my chair because it got caught on the carpet. They should cut it or glue it down. Otherwise, a great experience.

4 Star Rating Went here to celebrate a birthday. We were so hungry and went crazy with the food so we had a hard time finishing the second round lol. The sushi is okay, the price is cheap for AYCE (lunch time) so i’d say it’s not bad. The veggie salad (?) was not good and we didn’t really like their kimchi either. The tonkatsu was also better than i expected, i was craving for it so we asked for that too. As for the bbq, love love love their beef and chicken, pork was okay. We went in pretty late so they were closing and made us pay before we finished. I couldn’t really understand the owner when she was asking me to pay and then she ended up choosing and pressing the tip by herself which was kind of a letdown with the experience. I wouldn’t say it was a well-deserved tip for the service and considering we weren’t even a group. Overall it was nice, except the last part. A great place to go if your hungry and craving for both sushi and bbq!

5 Star Rating My girlfriend and I came to Shabusen Yakiniku House for the all-you-can-eat option and chose the Korean BBQ, and it was an awesome experience. It was her first time ever doing Korean BBQ, so I really wanted it to be somewhere memorable—and Shabusen absolutely delivered. The quality of the food was excellent, especially for all you can eat. Everything tasted fresh, well-marinated, and came out quickly. Our absolute favourite was the short rib. It was incredibly tender, flavorful, and easily the standout dish of the night. Watching the meat cook right at the table made the whole experience fun and interactive, which was perfect for a first-timer. The variety of options meant we could try a little bit of everything without feeling rushed. The atmosphere was lively but still comfortable, making it a great spot for a date or a casual night out. Overall, the food, experience, and value made this a place we’d happily return to. If you’re looking to try Korean BBQ—especially for the first time—Shabusen Yakiniku House is a fantastic choice.

4 Star Rating We did not have any wait luckily because we had reservation online, but as we were exiting there were over 20 people waiting outside the restaurant. Overall I'd give it a 4/5 stars. One star missing for the food quality, it's not super high but it's good for the price you're paying. The value is great considering you get to order 3 rounds and there's no limit to how many items you order per round, but you do need to finish what's on your table to avoid getting a penalty. Our favourite item was the fried scallops. The dining environment was comfortable as well, despite being a bit loud. Service was decent, and speedy. I'd come back here again!

4 Star Rating Had a really nice overall experience at Joey Burrard. The vibe and atmosphere are honestly the highlight a modern, cozy, and relaxed without feeling too loud or overcrowded. It wasn’t too busy when we went, which made it perfect for actually enjoying the space and conversation. Service was great throughout the visit. Server was attentive, friendly, and smooth without being overbearing, which always makes a big difference. The food was good but not mind-blowing; some dishes were enjoyable, though nothing really stood out as “wow” for the price. Portions do feel a bit small compared to the cost, but considering it’s downtown Vancouver, that’s kind of expected. Drinks were definitely a strong point those were well made, refreshing, and nicely presented. Overall, even though the food wasn’t the best I’ve had, the atmosphere, service, and drinks really pulled everything together and made the experience worth it. A solid spot for a chill night out, drinks, and good vibes rather than coming strictly for the food.

5 Star Rating Last week, we celebrated our daughter’s 8th birthday, and we had an amazing time at this restaurant. When we arrived, the staff was super friendly and welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. They even threw in a free dessert on the house, which was a nice touch. It was definitely worth the price, and it met our expectations. The only downside was that the food service could have been a bit faster. Overall, though, I highly recommend this restaurant. It was a great experience!

5 Star Rating I had an amazing dining experience here. I visited a few weeks ago for a business meeting with some female colleagues, and we were pleasantly surprised by the welcome bubbly offered as soon as we walked in. It was such a thoughtful touch that made us feel right at home. The hostesses were friendly and professional, and our server was an absolute delight. I unfortunately don’t remember his name, but he was a tall Black gentleman who was exceptionally professional, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely warm. His recommendations were spot-on—especially the potato salad, which he insisted we try. It turned out to be the best I’ve ever had. We tried several menu items, all of which were phenomenal. Everything paired beautifully with both the wine and the perfectly crafted smoked Old Fashioneds. I honestly have no suggestions for improvement. It was a 10/10 experience across the board—from the ambiance, to the service, to the food. Highly recommend. This made my first time in Vancouver memorable and I cannot wait to be back!

5 Star Rating We visited last valentines day in Joeys. Food was really good, especially the spaghetti with lobsters & steak! and ofc the crab dip. Our server, Zack was the best—his service was top-notch. He was always there whenever we needed something, and he checked on us often. Cocktails was good too, we will definitely come back.

5 Star Rating We enjoyed an excellent Dine Out Vancouver dinner at Diva at the Metropolitan. The service was truly exceptional—Eka, the Assistant Manager, was so welcoming and ensured we had a wonderful evening, and Maraya was an attentive, friendly server. Every course was a hit: the Beet & Burrata Salad was fresh and light, the Braised Short Rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender on a bed of risotto, and the Pistachio Tiramisu was absolutely heavenly. It was also excellent value for a downtown hotel dinner. I highly recommend Diva at the Met. We look forward to another visit!

4 Star Rating Drove to the Met for dinner with someone staying in the hotel. There’s no one on parking duty at 5 pm, so we had to wait a while to get someone from front desk to help. Happy Hour is 3-6 pm, but the plates were only $1 cheaper than the appetizer menu, so doesn’t really seem worth it. They also advertised $6 happy hour beer but charged us $7 for some reason. Had the crispy Taiwanese chicken and pork belly as an appetizer. The Taiwanese chicken was very tasty, but you can’t really have bad Taiwanese chicken. Could’ve passed on the pork belly. A bit tart for me. I had the burger and it was decent. It came with very tasty and crispy fries. Partner had the Calabrian pizza, which was very tasty too. For dessert, I had the carrot cake, which was very good. It came with ginger ice cream, which gave it a nice kick. Fine experience, they have 50% off wine on Sundays, which is nice. Probably won’t return since I can get equally good food elsewhere without taking a trip downtown. If you live downtown, worth a visit, as prices are decent for good quality food.

5 Star Rating I was not expecting it to be so good !! We tried a few different cocktails and all were amazing. A pretty good variety of different types of drinks. We came in during happy hour. My favourite drink was a spicy mango cocktail. Truffle fries were crisp + seasoned well, also had carbonara and fish tacos. Carbonara was rich, fish tacos were cooked perfectly not too heavy.

5 Star Rating A table of 8 of us go for happy hour after work each night and diva hit the spot tonight. Arancini balls were perfect! Add some Friday margs and a crème brule to top it off and my night is made.

5 Star Rating We had a very enjoyable time here. The chicken tikka, served with spinach saag and corn bread was interesting, not what we expected, but very tasty and spicy. Desserts were fab, a cherry chocolate fondant and strawberry shortcake with strawberry compote and a mousse. These were the highlights! Our server Fernanda was a joy. Highly recommended.
