Really yummy out-of-the-box fusion menu that we remembered from a trip to Vancouver about a decade ago. Back then it was a food truck, and it’s nice to return to find a store front to sit and eat. The menu has grown and we really liked the Japanese inspired nori and bonito topped dogs. Our son had the cheese/beef topped one and it was 🫤. The savory choices are delicious, and I’m hoping to visit again to try the takoyaki and poutines. Tip: the butter and soy fries are delicious!!

Hot diggity dog, it's been a while since I had a Japadog but it's still the top dog for me. To celebrate their 20th(!) anniversary, Japadog is giving away free hot dogs from May 1-3: Korubata Terimayo, Okonomi, or Beef Bacon Cheese.
I went with their classic Korubata Terimayo and it was as delicious as I remember. The Korubata pork sausage was so juicy and had some snap to it from the grill; it perfectly complemented the soft texture of the hot dog bun. With the fried onions, teriyaki sauce, Japanese mayo, and seaweed, it was the perfect combination of sweet and savoury.
I got there right at 5pm and only waited 30 minutes. Japadog's small but mighty team was so well-organized, efficient, and friendly. There was even a staff member dressed as a hot dog which I found so endearing and funny.
Congrats, Japadog, on an incredible 20 years in Vancouver and thank you again for the delicious hot dog. You are a staple in our city. Here's to another 20+!

While it was definitely not your regular hot dog, it did not blow me away as I was expecting. It was a tad pricy, but not too crazy. There are definitely some interesting combinations (over 20) so perhaps what I had (the #6 Yakisoba and the #1) just didn't hit it for me. Their fries are good though and it was a cool atmosphere.

A twist on the standard hot dog. So amazing. We were at the Robson St location in Vancouver. Service was great. Place is super small but has plenty of space outside. We'll be back.

Located at the center of Vancouver, this place provides delicious and fairly reasonably priced Japanese style hot dogs. The bright colors of the restaurant make it clearly visible without being obnoxious, and the inside demonstrates the history of the curious treat they sell. In addition to the striking name and concept, the building itself looks distinct and iconic. The hot dogs themselves are fine without being exceptional: what makes them special are the toppings, which include ingredients like soba noodles and teriyaki sauce. There are a few more conventional, more typically North American flavors, but I highly recommend the more distinctly Japanese ones, as those are what makes this place special. Hot dogs with seaweed might not seem initially delightful, but this place makes that combination and others like it work in a delicious and eccentric way.

Had the most amazing experience at Gotham. Our server Anne Marie was not only attentive, but brought an amazing energy to our dining experience. Luke, Zach, Brandon and Won were also so lovely.
Food was phenomenal, went for “social hour”- great deal! Would highly recommend the steak and shrimp skewer and oysters. Everything was perfectly cooked and staff ensured we were enjoying our meals. Patio was a beautiful ambiance and music really set the vibe.
Certainly expensive but worth it if you enjoy fine dining! A little surprised that the old fashion had multiple ice cubes as opposed to the classic king cube but all in all, would recommend! Thank you staff!

My husband and I visited Gotham Steakhouse and Cocktail Bar, and let me just say, I was thoroughly impressed! As soon as you walk in, the vibe is just perfect—it's classy and cozy at the same time, making it a great spot for a romantic dinner or a night out with family and friends.
Now, let's talk about the food. The steak was seriously one of the best I've ever had! We went with the Tomahawk, and it was cooked exactly how we like it—so tender and flavorful. They have some amazing side dishes too; the truffle mashed potatoes were definitely a highlight.
They do have a fantastic menu. We tried the creamed corn and seasonal veggies sides..And the lobster?! Wow! So..good.. and it was not only beautiful but also packed with flavor.
The service was top-notch too. Our server was so friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed without being too much. I feel like they have the nicest folks here..
Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Gotham Steakhouse. If you're looking for a place to enjoy a delicious meal with a great atmosphere, I highly recommend checking it out!

This place was excellent, great service, great food, great live music. The staff was welcoming, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about serving steaks and ensuring guests had a quality experience. Our server, Ken engaged us in conversation, made appropriate jokes, and was generally aware and in tune with our needs and dining experience. I would eat here again, 10/10. We didn’t have a reservation, rolled in with eight on a Friday night and were sat in a few minutes by the kitchen, which is expected without having a reservation. But you know what, I’d do it again. It was not too loud or overwhelming, and it was great to see the staff interact so well.
The menu is simple and full of delicious eats, we ordered crab cakes, steaks, and a few kids meals. I feel like I can speak with the table by saying everyone was pleased and our membership to the clean plate club is still intact.
I had the 16oz tenderloin, rare as is proper in the eyes of gods and men, and man I wish I had ordered two. So delicious. Alberta Prime, juicy and well seasoned to the last bite! Death row meal for sure.
We also had the grilled pablano peppers, broccoli, baked and mashed taters, and the cheesy bread.
You gots to eat hear, friends.

From the moment we stepped into Gotham Steakhouse, everything flowed effortlessly. The entrance was sleek and welcoming, and we were quickly seated on the outdoor patio, which had the perfect vibe for a laid-back, upscale afternoon/evening cozy, relaxed, and just the right touch of city energy without being too busy. All the staff were fantastic from the servers to just anybody working out there where you see hospitality present in all corners.
We started with a few appetizers. The cheese toast was a clear favorite: simple, comforting, and packed with flavor. The fried portobello mushrooms were a pleasant surprise as they’re supposed to be watery, but then it had the right crisp, rich, and satisfying especially when it was offered with couple of mayo based dips. Every bite felt like it was crafted with care. The steak and prawn skewer was delicious, the bacon cheddar burger was juicy and indulgent, and the Seymour Street fried chicken brought a bold crunch, tender juicy on the inside with mayo dip on the side that hit just right. Had several cocktail, mocktail, and shots of drinks that didn’t disappoint.
The star of the meal was the steak. The Canadian prime beef, cooked to perfection- medium rare, served over French bread with a side of classic Caesar salad was just perfection. The char, the meat, just melts in your mouth. Honestly, one of the best steaks I’ve had it’s buttery, tender, and full of flavor.
We finished with the key lime pie, which was beautifully made and it was a big slice. The tart blended nicely with the whip and lime, crust was good. Kinda sweet, but still a solid dessert to cap off the meal. Recommended for sweet tooths! 😃
All in all, Gotham nails the upscale steakhouse experience without trying too hard. I’d absolutely recommend it and would love to go back especially to repeat some orders and would love to explore other ones too.

We had dinner at Hawksworth last night and overall, it was a nice evening out. A few of the dishes were larger than expected, which was a pleasant surprise given the price of dining out these days — always nice when it feels like you’re getting some value.
That said, my main — the veal cutlet — was unfortunately overly salty. And I tend to like my food on the saltier side, so for me to say it was too salty really means something. The waitress was great about it and kindly offered to replace the dish. Shortly after, the manager came by as well, apologized, and offered the same, which I appreciated. I decided not to go for a replacement of the same item as I figured it might come out similarly, and while I considered ordering something else, I just lost my appetite.
To their credit, they comped the dish and also offered a dessert on the house. So while the dish itself was a miss, the service was absolutely excellent — thoughtful, proactive, and professional from start to finish.
All in all, I’d give it 4 stars. Not a knock on the service at all, but more a reflection of the food experience that evening. Would still come back and give it another shot.

Fantastic experience from the moment I walked in. Didn't have a reservation, but was solo and it was early. The place was busy, so I got lucky. Right away I had staff attending to me. The food was phenomenal. The service was exceptional. Thanks to Sasha and the team for all their attention. Sorry I forgot to take your gift with me. Until next time!
Highly recommend,

Last night was my first time dined here which has a solid reputation, but I have mixed feelings about my experience. The ambiance and service were definitely the highlights — the staff was friendly, attentive, and the overall vibe was warm and comfortable. It’s definitely a great spot to relax and enjoy a meal.
As for the food, it was decent, but not quite as impressive as I expected. I ordered the main dish, which was good, but it was on the smaller side. Honestly, if I hadn’t added on a side, I might’ve left still hungry. The flavors were fine, but nothing that really stood out or wowed me.
Overall, the experience was pleasant, but I don’t know if I’d rush back based on the food alone. Still, if you're looking for a comfortable spot with great service, it’s worth considering.

We went to this restaurant for girls’ night and were unfortunately disappointed by the service. Our server seemed completely indifferent to us. They didn’t check in on us and forgot about our condiments. However, everyone else was great. The food was really tasty, especially the halibut and salmon— focaccia could use more seasoning, though.
Overall, it’s a good place, maybe we just caught our server at a bad day?

A Near-Perfect Michelin Star Experience—Almost
Dining at Hawksworth was an experience that flirted with perfection—until the final act.
The ambiance was elegant yet inviting, with beautiful lighting that set the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey. The service was poised, knowledgeable, and accommodating… at least until the very end.
Opting for the fixed four-course menu, I was treated to a symphony of flavors. The appetizer was an intricate balance of textures, the second course—a delicate bison dish—was flawlessly executed, and the third, a masterpiece desert, left me eagerly anticipating the finale.
Except… it never came. Instead, I was handed the bill!
Somewhere between clearing the last plate and presenting the bill, the promised fourth course simply vanished.
I initially thought it was an intentional pause, but when the waiter reappeared, it was with the check, not my final dish. When I inquired, he looked genuinely surprised, muttered something about a “mix-up,” and " I forgot" and offered an apologetic smile and brought the last course.
While the food itself was outstanding and the setting sublime, that glaring misstep was hard to overlook.
A Michelin-starred experience should be flawless, and for a set menu, every dish should make it to the table.

This steakhouse offers a warm and refined atmosphere, with dark, tasteful décor that gives it a polished yet comfortable feel. We stopped in for lunch and were impressed by the quality of the food—crispy, flavorful cheese sticks and a tender, well-seasoned steak kebab that was cooked just right.
Our server was exceptionally friendly and talkative in the best way—engaging and attentive without being intrusive, which really added to the experience.
While it was a lunch visit, the menu prices and overall ambiance suggest a more upscale dining experience, making it a great option for business lunches, special midday outings, or simply treating yourself to something a bit nicer than the usual lunch fare. Overall, a great experience with quality food and standout service.

Our first visit to Hy’s, and we love it!! The atmosphere is great, and I love how open the space is, you can see chef cooking steak in the kitchen. Their cheese toast is really classic, and onion soup I like!!👍🏻 Steaks are great, price not too expensive too.

Amazing service and food! We arrived early for our dinner reservations and enjoyed Happy Hour upstairs. Karen was Amazing and took all my food allergies very seriously. The happy hour cocktails (2 ounces) for only $11. Great price. We made our way downstairs for dinner where Andy was our waiter. He was personable and informative. Our dinner was absolutely fantastic. The room is amazing and unchanged since the early 60s. We will absolutely be back. 5 stars all around! Great work!

We’ve been to the one in Whistler several times and thought we’d try the one in Vancouver. Both are fantastic, the only way this one trumps Whistler is the cool building it’s in, and its history. It is two levels and there are plenty of intimate dining spots. We can recommend the French Onion soup and the New York steak sandwich. Hys is great if you enjoy fantastic steak and red wine.

We stopped in on 06/30/2025 before the Run the Jewels and Wu-Tang Clan concert at Rogers Arena. We went in not knowing what we wanted other than some drinks.
I had the onion rings as I had realized in all my years of going to the Keg I had never tried. Well I feel dumb for not trying sooner, the flavor and crunchy batter. This was in my top 3 onion rings I have had. (will need to have at other locations)
My friend had mac n cheese no photo and the summer special raspberry sorbet. He said the sorbet was creamy and packed with intense flavor and would have a again.
Our server was fantastic kept the drinks full and when we needed to pay was prompt with the bills and machine.
I will be back when I have more time and can enjoy a steak with some onion rings.

Went in September last year at the Dunsmuir unit and it was incredible. The shrimp cocktail was otherworldly. Steaks were great, beers were cold, and the amount of food surprised us. Staff was super attentive and receptive. Whole experience made us want to return again this year to another unit. Loved it!

Exceptional experience celebrating Mother's Day at [Keg Restaurant]! From start to finish, everything was 10/10 - drinks, mains, and dessert. But what truly made the evening shine was our server, Wayne. His warm welcome and top-notch service exceeded our expectations. We're repeat customers and can't wait to come back! Highly recommend!

Went for an early dinner with a friend on a Tuesday. Sat in a cozy booth at the end of the restaurant past the bar. I was surprised how quiet it was, even for a Tuesday. But it was very sunny outside and no events (like hockey) going on.
To start we shared the Baked Brie appetizer, which was very good, although i found the topping on the cheese to be a bit sweet. thankfully it was only a small amount.
For mains we Blue Cheese Filet with seasonal vegetables, and 10oz Prime Rib with mashed potatoes. The prime rib was perfection and went well with the mashed potatoes, although I was wishing I had also got the mixed vegetables.
The Filet, which was bacon wrap was good, although it was a little over cooked to what we had asked (medium rare). The blue cheese topping was more the consistency of mash potatoes, the a sauce which is what we were expecting. It was still good though. The vegetables were a delight, and nice to have a variety rather than just 1 or 2 vegetables.
For dessert we got their special banana cream, which came unexpectantly in a glass. It had the consistency of a pudding, but was more watery once you got passed the whipped cream, almost to the point you could drink it. Was okay, but a bit bland, and I wouldn't recommend it.
Service was great, non rushed, but efficient, friendly and professional. It was particularly nice to have a quiet and cozy setting without much background noise.

The place was buzzing when we visited on a Saturday night. Highly recommend getting reservations for the weekends. Our server was courteous and well versed with the menu. We had ordered the prime rib and were surprised at how raw it looked. All my doubts were thrown out of the window as soon as I took my first bite. It was exceptionally juicy. All other steaks were great too. The Old Fashioned hit the spot and so did the Calamari. It was money well spent. We will surely be back.

This place has gotta be one of the best Japanese BBQ I have ever had. The service was great: starting from our reception to our server. The meat quality was also superb. The salad, the miso soup, the roll, the beef sushi and the pork are all great and very yummy for my family of 6. We had such a wonderful time here. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice and we sat on a window seat that perfectly shows downtown vancouver which is great because the weather was perfect that day. View and food are both amazing. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Shabusen is one of my favorite spots, whenever I’m craving sushi and BBQ.The BBQ pork here is seriously amazing, super juicy and flavorful. Every time I come, I can’t help but order way too much of it because it’s just too good. The sushi rolls are fresh and packed with flavor, and the sashimi is buttery and melts in your mouth.Everything always tastes so satisfying.Even when it gets busy, the service stays friendly and fast, and the food keeps coming without too much wait. If you’re looking for a place that has a good mix of fresh sushi, sashimi, and BBQ, I definitely recommend this place. Always hits the spot!

Decent AYCE Sushi and KBBQ restaurant among the crowd of nearby restaurants. Service was good, though at times we would have to get our servers' attention rather than having them periodically check up on us. The food itself was good. The sashimi was pretty fresh, and the cuts of meat were delicious. Though, the sushi was a bit bland and boring - primarily the Dynamite Roll. All in all, Shabusen is one of the better AYCE options in Vancouver, and definitely give the AYCE dinner option a try.

Shabusen is by far the best restaurant of this kind in the city. Service is always great and even when they’re full and you need to wait, they take the time to let you know how long you need to wait for your table and the best is they don’t lie… if they say 10 minutes your table will be ready in 10 minutes. You can ask any server for anything and they will help you right away and even if they see you’re missing something they ask. They also clean your table on the go and a lot of times you don’t even notice. Really professional service.
Cost is one of the best parts because for all the food you can eat and the quality is totally worth it.
High recommended.

We came here for Happy Hour to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. My sister and I shared the Szechuan lettuce wrap with chicken, one of my favourites; it’s the right balance of sweet & spice. We all shared and enjoyed the truffle fries, roasted corn guacamole and the secret /not so secret, ever famous Crispy mashed potatoes. It’s not on the menu, only regulars would know about this and I highly recommended to try when visiting Joeys.
From the time we were seated, the hostess / Manager Erika took care of us. The service is wonderful as always. I have been coming here for many years and I’m happy they still uphold such high standards when it comes to customer service. Our server is so sweet, she surprised my daughter with a plate of delicious brownies and Joeys gifted her with a movie gift card. My daughter is very happy and I’m just in awe of this level of customer service.
Just a quick note, our server forgot to remind us of the last call for happy hour. It’s not a big deal, I should have known it ends at 5 since I’ve been here many times. Overall we really enjoyed all the food, wine, the impeccable service; I can’t wait to come back.

A friend and I went to Joeys last night after a concert for a bite. The service at first was a bit off. We sat at the table for some time before anyone came but the server recognized that and gave us mashed potatoes on the house. We also ordered the sushi and lettuce wraps. The food was very delicious and the venue is very beautiful.

A great experience in every way. We picked this restaurant for our anniversary dinner. We were greeted with warm smiles and a complimentary glass of bubbles while being sat for our reservation. The atmosphere was classy and intimate.
Our servers name was Chris. He was knowledgeable about the menu and had some really good recommendations for us. We started with the steak french dip appetizers. They were AMAZING. I could eat ten of those things. Highly recommend them! Four our entrees we had the herb crushed salmon and the steak and ravioli Bianco dishes. What a combo! This place definitely does steak right!
We finished with the creme brulee cheesecake. Let me tell you... This cheesecake was awarded worthy. I've never had anything like it. They left a nice note on the plate in strawberry coulis.
The manager, Frank, made sure to greet us and ensure our experience went smoothly. He was very friendly, and easy on the eyes.
A second manager, Feden, congratulated us and took our payment while sharing some nice stories about the restaurant. It is so clear they operate as a unit there and all employees have respect for each other.
I think this restaurant is a must stop for locals or anyone traveling through Vancouver.

Truffle fries were crisp + seasoned well, also had carbonara and fish tacos. Carbonara was rich, fish tacos were cooked perfectly not too heavy.

We had a very enjoyable time here. The chicken tikka, served with spinach saag and corn bread was interesting, not what we expected, but very tasty and spicy. Desserts were fab, a cherry chocolate fondant and strawberry shortcake with strawberry compote and a mousse. These were the highlights! Our server Fernanda was a joy.
Highly recommended.

Drove to the Met for dinner with someone staying in the hotel. There’s no one on parking duty at 5 pm, so we had to wait a while to get someone from front desk to help.
Happy Hour is 3-6 pm, but the plates were only $1 cheaper than the appetizer menu, so doesn’t really seem worth it. They also advertised $6 happy hour beer but charged us $7 for some reason.
Had the crispy Taiwanese chicken and pork belly as an appetizer. The Taiwanese chicken was very tasty, but you can’t really have bad Taiwanese chicken. Could’ve passed on the pork belly. A bit tart for me.
I had the burger and it was decent. It came with very tasty and crispy fries. Partner had the Calabrian pizza, which was very tasty too.
For dessert, I had the carrot cake, which was very good. It came with ginger ice cream, which gave it a nice kick.
Fine experience, they have 50% off wine on Sundays, which is nice. Probably won’t return since I can get equally good food elsewhere without taking a trip downtown. If you live downtown, worth a visit, as prices are decent for good quality food.

Came on a Friday at around 4:30pm for a quick bite.
Sliders: pretty dry and sad. The buns were soft but not buttery
Tuna tataki: very fishy (yes I know it's fish) but in a bad way. Like bad ocean flavours and the green sauce did not help. I did like the marinated cucumber and the edamame. That went well with it
Calamari: best dish of the night. The sauce was not good but the calamari was fried perfectly. Not overly chewy and pretty tender. Batter wasn't too heavy
Overall service was good. Food was Mediocre but the atmosphere was great. Not too loud as there weren't too many customers.
