Had a really great dinner at Blue Water Cafe.
We started with the Songbird and Smoke Show cocktails. Both were great, but the Smoke Show was definitely my favorite. The mezcal gave it an amazing smoky flavor.
For appetizers, we had the sockeye salmon sushi roll and the dynamite roll. The dynamite roll was good, but the sockeye salmon roll was the standout. The salmon was incredibly fresh, and there was a lot more salmon than rice compared to most sushi rolls, so every bite was packed with flavor.
The complimentary bread service was also delicious. It came with two dipping sauces, and the carrot and lentil one was my favorite.
For dinner, we ordered the braised short rib and the flat iron steak. Both were really good. The only thing I’d mention is that the sauce on the short rib was a little strong for my taste, but it was still a great dish. We also got mashed potatoes and mushrooms on the side, and both were super tasty.
For dessert, we shared the warm chocolate cake with ice cream, which was the perfect way to end the meal.
The vibe was great, lots of people-watching, and the service was spot on. Our server was attentive without hovering and checked in just the right amount.
Overall, a really enjoyable experience and I’d definitely go back.

Great presentation of the food, amazing service by the staff and God atmosphere. The food quality was not all there for the price you pay. Lack a few flavors and a few dishes not all delicious. Great experience worth to try at least once

Thank you Jared & team.
We had dinner at Blue Water Cafe last night, and our server, Jared, was absolutely outstanding. He was incredibly attentive throughout the entire evening and possessed a deep knowledge of the menu, explaining the dishes with great detail. His drink recommendations were also spot on and enhanced our meal perfectly.
What impressed us the most was his impeccable pacing; he managed to attend to every single table with absolute precision, without ever making anyone feel rushed. Jared balances warmth and professionalism beautifully, and he was truly a key figure in making our evening a memorable success.
A huge thank you to Jared and the entire team for an unforgettable night. Exceptional service like this elevates the entire dining experience. Highly recommended!

We celebrated a birthday at Blu Water Cafe on Boxing Day and had a fantastic experience. We focused on the raw and sushi bar, ordering oysters, trout and tuna tartare, hamachi, and several rolls – all were excellent.
The flavors were fresh, bright, and clean, exactly what you want from quality seafood. Every dish was beautifully executed and showcased the ingredients perfectly. The cocktails were equally impressive and paired wonderfully with our meal.
The menu is extensive with so much we didn’t get to try, which just means we’ll have to return. We finished with the lava cake for dessert, and the restaurant made our birthday celebration feel special with thoughtful touches.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for top-notch seafood in Vancouver. The raw bar alone is worth the visit.

Little bit of a late post but me and my girlfriend came here for the valentines special menu. It was amazing and the service was really thoughtful. Our server was Aaron, and he was very kind and made terrific suggestions. He was very honest too and suggested I get the Sablefish rather than their steak. I was very happy I did make that decision as the food was top notch. They gave complimentary bread with a very nice hummus style spread. The appetizers were very tasty, especially the crab cakes. The desert was also super delicious, the tiramisu had quite a strong orange profile to it. The $50 whiskey flight from a japanese distiller was also quite smooth and tasty. Overall will visit again and ask for Aaron!

Amazing food and atmosphere! I came in with some friends earlier today and had a wonderful experience. We were kindly greeted and walked to our table by Sofia.
The service is always the best here, expo Matis was so kind to my table and gave us some great food recommendations. The avocado kale salad has been my go to for years now, but he recommended the crispy tofu bowl so I went with that. IT WAS PHENOMENAL!! The service is always the best here and the food never misses.

We had such a great experience at Cactus Club Cafe Yaletown thanks to our server Anabelle. She was energetic, friendly, and very attentive, always checking in on us with a genuine smile that made the whole place feel brighter.
She knew the menu really well and gave us great recommendations. We tried her favorite, the Peach Bellini, and absolutely loved it. Anabelle was truly a breath of fresh air and made our visit even more enjoyable.
Cactus Club is lucky to have her. She is a wonderful asset to the team. Thank you, Anabelle, for such amazing service.

Great place to hang out with friends, specially their outdoor seating in their patio! Inside the music was too loud but still a nice place to hang out! Their food was pretty good and the drinks we ordered were pretty good, too! I liked their sushi options and their fries was good, too!

Cactus Club Cafe is honestly never disappointing. The food is consistently great always fresh, well-seasoned, and exactly what you’re expecting. Service is quick, friendly, and on point without feeling rushed or fake.
Everything runs smoothly every time I go, which makes it such an easy, reliable choice whether you’re grabbing a casual meal or going out with friends. The vibe is nice, the staff are welcoming, and you’re never left waiting too long. Solid experience all around, every single time.

I’ve been a long-time Subway customer, and I have to say, today’s visit really stood out. Kiran was incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming. She represents the brand so well and her positive attitude genuinely made my day. Customer service like this deserves recognition. Thank you, Kiran.

Kirin is awesome. She makes your day brighter with her friendly fun 😁 attitude. She really puts in an effort to make an interaction in a industry where most service workers are, quiet and/or bored. Really appreciated 👏

Usually excellent when this one guy is there. Makes it with care and does everything you would expect at a subway. Then went there today. Placed order online had to use app because it was the only way I could use the coupon, but I was physically in the Subway store. Two ladies were there and were more interested in talking among themselves in their own language. Not much attention to the customer. It was creepy and rude. Then one insisted that I sit down while they make my sandwich. Why do I have to sit down while you make it? I wanted to oversee it. I wasn’t sure if I entered everything correctly online and I was in the store anyway. Why would you want me to insist I sit down? It was creepy. And they knew I was entering my order online while I was in the store. Maybe they have some personal issue with taking verbal instructions? Well, then, why do you work at a subway? I asked her for extra lettuce. She snapped at me and said she’s already done that. She was so sloppy the way she put together a sandwich. I have no idea why. Just placing my order. Never spoke to them. Never seen them before. Never had this problem before went into Subway hundreds of times over the past 25 years. Hope the manager reads this review. Why did you hire those two ladies? I don’t want to go there again if they’re working there. You just lost my business.

We visited Bricks & Mortar last night and had a great overall experience. Aria took wonderful care of us—attentive, friendly, and made the evening feel easy and enjoyable.
The appetizers didn’t quite meet our expectations but except Pork belly and scallops, but the main dishes absolutely made up for it—delicious, well-prepared, and full of flavor. Broccoli Caesar salad, Pork T Bone and roasted chicken were outstanding!
All in all, a lovely night with great service. We’ll definitely be back, especially for the mains!
Oh and this place is gorgeous.

There aren’t a ton of vegan options, but what they do have is pretty tasty. Standard, sure, but still good. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff are awesome. Sweet Happy Hour deals, and the covered patio is a highlight for me. Great for dates or a chill spot to grab drinks and appies with a friend.

Went to Brix & Mortar in Yaletown and had such a nice evening. I ordered the salmon and my friend got the pork steak — his portion was seriously big, super generous. The salmon was really well cooked, fresh, and flavorful without being heavy. We also had a salad and it was actually really good, fresh and nicely balanced.
The atmosphere is one of the best parts — very cozy, warm, and a bit romantic. There was a wedding happening inside while we were there, which made the whole place feel lively and kind of special, but still comfortable.
Overall everything felt well done — food, portions, and vibe. It’s a great spot for a relaxed dinner or even a special occasion.

We tried the $57 dine-out menu and really enjoyed the feast. We started with the Caesar salad and crab hush puppies, which ere fresh, flavorful, and nicely crispy. The salmon and duck breast were both tender and satisfying. Desserts were good, though a bit too saucy and sweet for our taste. Service was attentive, and we’d come back to try the regular menu! Highly recommended for their romantic atmosphere, good food, attentive service and we got lucky and enjoyed live music performance!
FoodieLion - 4 months ago
We really enjoyed the Brix dine out last year and this year did not disappoint. The hush puppies and pate were fantastic starters. The duck main was the best duck I’ve ever had and the salmon was also delicious. We hardly had room but the desserts were delicious more than worth the effort. Can’t wait for next year!

Reservation was easy peasy. Food was a delight. Ordered tiger prawns, red lentil soup, halloomi salad, pomegranate hummus, flat bread and the cauliflower dish. Finished with the chocolate cheesecake and they treated us to some delicious baklava. Chris served us and was lovely.
I had the sabha rose milk and my parents enjoyed the ginger beer.

I went here with my friends to try Lebanese food, and the experience did not disappoint! The service was wonderful and the waitress was so friendly, giving us personal recommendations and dipping sauces to try. The lamb skewers were delicious, especially with the potatoes! They were tender and great paired with the different sauces. The cauliflower was also flavourful with nice dips, and the hummus and pita bread were good as well. I tried a lot of new flavours, all presented beautifully and served on a pleasant winter day.

Got the chicken shish tawook lunch special and it was amazing! I got take out too, which made it all the more incredible the food was still great. The potatoes were perfect and the garlic sauce made everything so much better. I will be back.

I was looking for a Middle Eastern spot and I came across this wonderful place. I began with the lentil soup which was comforting, flavorful and perfect start to my experience at Nuba. I then enjoyed the Shish Taouk lunch plate with roasted potatoes. Although I would have liked more chicken, it was delicious and I really enjoyed all the flavours on the plate. The hummus was nice, not as nice as my mother’s homemade of course, but I enjoyed it. The roasted potatoes were on point. Service was great, I’ll be back.

Went to Nuba tonight while visiting from out of town — such a lovely Mediterranean spot! We loveddd the cauliflower dish — it was surprising and delicious. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive, and the food overall was really good. Prices felt a little on the higher side, and I wish the pita was made in-house (I think that would have made a big difference), but all in all, it was a really lovely dinner with great atmosphere.

The food here is absolutely delicious! It is on the pricier side, but is very worth it. We've been here multiple times, but decided to stop by for a quick bite as we had eaten earlier. The aburi was great as usual and we ended up ordering the Ebi aburi as well even though we were full from earlier in the day. The karage was great and was a small portion, which worked out for us. The restaurant has a very nice Japanese vibe as well. The server was friendly and very attentive. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and I will be going back myself.

The food is good but average. We are in love chicken but espresso martini was sooooo goooddd! The best in town I guess. Sushis are normal sushi, there is nothing special taste actually. I didn’t like the dessert, it was not sweet.

Great dinner overall. A few items we originally wanted weren’t available, but the staff handled it really well and suggested great alternatives instead, which actually ended up being a pleasant surprise. Service was warm, attentive, and the atmosphere felt lively without being too loud.
I especially liked the cassis martini - dangerously easy to drink. Would definitely come back.

I had the most incredible dining experience here. The tasting menu is truly authentic Japanese cuisine — every course was beautifully presented and thoughtfully balanced. From the delicate sashimi to the seasonal hot dishes, each bite highlighted the chef’s skill and respect for ingredients.
The service was warm, attentive, and never rushed, allowing us to enjoy the full progression of flavors at a perfect pace. The atmosphere is intimate yet welcoming, making it ideal for both a special occasion and an evening of discovery.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for an authentic Japanese tasting experience that goes far beyond the usual sushi spot.

10/10 food was perfect, like clear the plate good. Just smaller portions than I expected. 3 bite sized scallops for $28.50 (Hokkaido Scallops) amazing presentation and full of diverse flavors though, (Seafood Pasta - Supper) had 1 scallop, 2 prawns, 5 mussels and 5 clams $46.50. Although very delicious, can't say I would pay $46.50 for that again. And we had the happy hour (at 2pm) oysters (14 × $2.95 = $41.30), which were $4.95 regularly the waiter told me. Also had a Low Tide Lager $6.50. Very good immediate and attentive service, the interior was very warm and inviting. After $15 tip, total was $144.59.

The oysters were incredibly fresh and delicious, with a wide variety of sauce options. The clams were outstanding as well. The atmosphere is engaging—you can watch the kitchen team at work throughout your meal, which makes the experience even more enjoyable.

The cuisine was well-executed and flavorful, complemented by a pleasant ambiance and courteous, attentive staff. However, the seafood lacked the expected freshness, suggesting previously frozen ingredients rather than premium quality. Good to Try.

Excellent place of your looking for oysters. The seafood selection is a little limited but very high quality.
Service staff is extremely polite and professional. The bar cocktail options can be expanded a little.
The overall experience was exceptional. This isn’t some “buck-a-shuck” oyster house. Definitely recommend.

The food is to die for, authentic French cuisine that will have you salivating for a whole week after just thinking about what you ate. Great late night menu too and the most exquisite service. They really let you enjoy your meal in a relaxing atmosphere without feeling rushed. Highly recommend the mushroom ravioli!

I went for Fine Dining in early February 2026 with my friends for Dine Out Vancouver and thoroughly enjoyed the food & service. I am limited to Seafood and Vegetarian options only when I go out to eat. For the appy, I had their crab and shrimp cakes - tasty with a lovely Mocktail! For the main dish, I had their Wild Mushroom Ravioli, and this was my first time to have seafood with this type of dish, which was wild caught prawns. The combination was terrific and the raviolis were soooo plump with filling. Then I enjoyed my dessert with their fresh lattè 💜. Overall, it was a great night!

Totally enjoyed the complete experience at Provence before heading to the Black Keys concert. We went to celebrate my wife's 63rd birthday and they wished her a happy birthday as we came in and our server made it her job to celebrate the occasion. We shares the grilled shrimp and avocado and scallops to start the grilled fish trio, crab and lobster bamboo rice, grilled shrimp provencale and sable fish. All were delicious and had totally different flavour profiles. The wine list is extensive and has something for everyone. The no alcohol "g and t" was very good as well. They the brought a complimentary tasting of Armagnac and creme caramel. Both delicious and even better together ;) We also shared a great lemon tart. Beautiful location, great food and even better vibe and service!
Ps should have taken photos of food but couldn't wait to taste...

Provence is our regular lunch and brunch place. They offer a Vegan Herbed Green Chickpea Cakes with roasted vegetables, frisée and ratatouille sauce. I remember enjoying it but also my skin reacting to it afterwards which puzzled me. Typically, I order the roasted vegetables because they do that much better than what I make at home. We've eaten at Provence countless times and sometimes with our friends. Only once were we lucky enough to enjoy the corner round booth – that has to be the best table in there. Before I developed intolerance to tomatoes and garlic, I used to enjoy their seafood spaghetti. Apart from the chickpea cakes and grilled vegetables, there are not many options for vegans. But the dining room gets a lot of lights from windows on two sides, it is a pleasant environment to enjoy lunch.

Our server Mishayla was the best! So sweet and friendly and accommodating! The appis were decent, but all our mains were cold unfortunately, my guess is coz they were really busy. I had the steak and tortellini and it was overall rather bland, and my steak was chewy. The drinks and dessert were great though.

Husband and I celebrated his birthday with brunch at Earls.
We started with the warm spinach and 3 cheese dip. Generous portion and delicious - I would return just for that!
We tried a couple of the zero proof mocktails, margarita and mango coconut cooler.
The margarita was good, the cooler was excellent.
I had the avocados benny with added bacon, husband had the chorizo hash.
He said his hash was one of the best he has had, balanced and flavourful. We both chose our eggs medium and they were a perfect medium cook.
The Benny is served with a nice side salad and amazing potatoes. Excellent hollandaise. The whole dish was perfect.
We shared an order of the almond berry pancake and oh lort that’s dangerously delicious.
I’m glad we split it!
Our servers were Liam and Crystal. 10/10 service.
It’s a lovely space, comfortable seating, music was nice and at a nice level. The patio is decorated beautifully, will try the outside next time!
