5 Star Rating We had an amazing dining experience at Blue Water Cafe. Everything was perfect - from the warm, friendly service - to the lovely booth we got just for the two of us, even on a busy night, which made the evening feel even more special. The food was great, and the cocktails were excellent. If you love fish and seafood, this place is a must-visit when in Vancouver. They also offer an extensive wine list and some fantastic cocktail options. Would definitely go back! [Date of visit: 07 October 2025]

5 Star Rating We are seafood lovers, and my husband took me here for my birthday dinner. The oysters were very fresh and juicy. The food was good, and the service was great. We sat in the balcony area, which was warm. The only downside was the heater — it couldn’t be adjusted, so when one table complained that it was too hot, they turned it off. Once it was off, it got cold again, so they had to keep switching it on and off. The walkway to the washroom was also quite dark. Overall, we had a great time there.

5 Star Rating We visited Blue Water Cafe in Vancouver after making the trip in from White Rock, and it was absolutely worth it. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, and the overall vibe is fantastic. A huge shout-out to our waiter Liam, who was truly exceptional. His service was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable — he made the experience feel extra special. The seafood was incredibly fresh and delicious, easily some of the best we’ve had. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavour. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!

5 Star Rating I had an incredible dinner at Blue Water Café last night. Everything we ordered was flawless. The Amalfi Coast pasta special with grilled octopus was unreal….perfectly cooked, fresh, and full of flavour. The halibut sashimi was some of the best I’ve ever had, and the halibut special was another 10/10 dish that rounded out the meal perfectly. Service, atmosphere, food… all exceptional. Easily one of the best dining experiences in the city. Highly recommend!

5 Star Rating Great place to hang out with friends, specially their outdoor seating in their patio! Inside the music was too loud but still a nice place to hang out! Their food was pretty good and the drinks we ordered were pretty good, too! I liked their sushi options and their fries was good, too!

5 Star Rating I love the Blackened Chicken at Cactus Club. I order it almost every time I go! I still don’t know how they make chicken breast this tender and flavorful. If you like a bit of spice, I definitely recommend it. The broccolini was slightly overcooked this time, but still tasty. I also recommend the cheesecake—it was light, smooth, and a perfect finish to the meal. 😌 The patio was a little bit cold in this rainy day but the heater was great. Unfortunately our umbrella was lost in the umbrella holder and we got wet walking back to our car

2 Star Rating Andrea was an excellent server—friendly, patient, and made us feel welcome. Unfortunately, the hostess just showed us to our table and dropped the menus in a messy way, which felt unwelcoming. When I asked her a question, she seemed clueless and simply told me to “check the menu,” which was disappointing. The pasta (prawn ravioli) was lovely but far too small a portion for the price. The piña colada was nice, but much of the food was overly saucy, making it sticky and less enjoyable to eat. Overall, not quite the experience my wife and I were expecting from the place.

5 Star Rating Outstanding Service – Thanks Rajan! I’ve been coming to this Subway for years, and Rajan has always been amazing. Super friendly, respectful, and just really good at what he does. Even when it’s busy, he stays calm and never rushes anyone. What I really appreciate is that he actually remembers my usual order, which makes the whole experience fast and easy. He also always lets me know about the latest deals, so I get the best value. Honestly, Rajan goes the extra mile every time. He deserves to be recognized—this place wouldn’t be the same without him.

3 Star Rating I debated whether to write this review because overall my experience wasn’t bad. The food was tasty and fresh, I had the chicken dish, which was juicy and delicious, and the soup of the day, a Thai-style coconut soup that was surprisingly good. The warm focaccia was great too, though slightly over-grilled with some bitter spots. Service was friendly and attentive, maybe a bit too much at times. The only thing that threw me off was that we were there for a birthday celebration (not mine), which I mentioned in the reservation and again on arrival. They congratulated us, which was nice, but there was no small gesture or complimentary dessert at the end, something most restaurants usually do. Not a big deal, but it felt a little awkward since I’d mentioned there might be a surprise. Overall, the food and service were good, but the experience didn’t stand out enough for me to return. Still, it wasn’t bad, just neutral.

5 Star Rating My husband and I got married at Brix just over a week ago, and we had the most amazing celebration! We had our ceremony and reception all in one evening, and it could not have gone better. The atmosphere was magical, the staff were amazing, and Jenn and her team thought of everything! Their support throughout the process of planning was unmatched. They helped me figure out every detail, from the menu, to the timeline, to seating, decor etc. I got so many compliments from guests during and after our wedding about how smoothly everything went, how beautiful the venue was, how delicious the food was and how great the service was. Brix also recommended an amazing DJ and photographer. Thank you so much Jenn, David, Jaimie, Wade, Jacob, Germain, Hobee, Corey and Shauna for making our wedding the most incredible day. You all put so much care and effort into supporting us and making us feel so special! 5 Star Rating I went there a couple of months back to celebrate an anniversary, and honestly this might be one of the best Western restaurants I’ve ever been to. I usually prefer Asian food because most Western restaurants I’ve tried just don’t feel worth it - small portions, expensive ingredients, and the flavors often fall flat and bland and lack “depth” I was looking for. So I only go to western restaurants for special occasions. But this place completely changed my mind. The portions were generous and everything was well-balanced. We ordered the duck and the pork chop. Both were amazing, but the duck absolutely was my fav. It was cooked perfectly, juicy inside with crispy skin. I’d say it’s a must-order here. Definitely a place I’d come back to again.

5 Star Rating My wife found Nubas online and we thought we would give it a try. It was one of the best restaurants we have eaten at lately. The hummus was smooth and super flavorful with the pomegranate seeds a great addition. The bread was warm and I couldn’t stop eating it. The salad and chicken dish were so full of flavors I had to stop my self from eating it all. I was so full I couldn’t eat any more but the waitress insisted on us sampling some of the dessert. The staff was friendly and very attentive. If you are in town please stop by Nuba and give them a chance you won’t be disappointed.

4 Star Rating Went to Nuba tonight while visiting from out of town — such a lovely Mediterranean spot! We loveddd the cauliflower dish — it was surprising and delicious. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive, and the food overall was really good. 5 Star Rating 10/10 food was perfect, like clear the plate good. Just smaller portions than I expected. 3 bite sized scallops for $28.50 (Hokkaido Scallops) amazing presentation and full of diverse flavors though, (Seafood Pasta - Supper) had 1 scallop, 2 prawns, 5 mussels and 5 clams $46.50. Although very delicious, can't say I would pay $46.50 for that again. And we had the happy hour (at 2pm) oysters (14 × $2.95 = $41.30), which were $4.95 regularly the waiter told me. Also had a Low Tide Lager $6.50. Very good immediate and attentive service, the interior was very warm and inviting. After $15 tip, total was $144.59.

4 Star Rating First and most important, these were the best oysters I've ever had. Typically western oysters are thick and tough and taste was too fishy (in Toronto) but these BC oysters were fantastic. We had both east and west oysters. Both amazing. Fresh, shucked properly and has great hot sauces to pair. The mussels were good too. Service was ok, our server was nice and gave us good info on the menu. As for atmosphere...it was really loud, but it's a pub so, ok I guess. We were on the balcony. I found it extremely hot up there. And we had a little mouse running around underneath our tables. I'm not overly concerned as everything was clean and our food was prepared infront of us by the bar. But it was a bit of a concern when we told the server and another man who came to ask how our food was about it. They both kind of just shrugged it off like it was an ordinary thing that happens. Other than that, I'd still go back for the damn good oysters

Finished off the meal with sticky toffee pudding. While it wasn't as good as those I used to eat in the UK, it was a surprise to see on the menu so I ordered it. Sat at the bar instead of a table as it was fairly busy. Bartender was attentive though.

5 Star Rating This is going to be my favorite go to French Seafood restaurant with amazing views of Marinaside. Great food & service from concierge Lorenzo to Melody our waitress and even the gal who kept filling our water without asking. We started with nicely fried calamari which came with some light salad. Delicious & tender. We ordered the whole Dover sole lemon buttered fish to share and added seasonal veggies. Deliciously seasoned. It also came with potatoes. Note: it cost $5-$8 if you want them to cut fish for you inside. But it’s a much enjoyable experience to see the whole fish and it was easy to share as it was pre sliced on the side to lift up the fish to pull out the moist fish. Perfectly cooked as I’m a fish lover. Bonus was free surprise desert for my hubby on his bday and I tried first time French cake which was sponge cake with mixed berries inside & nice baked exterior served warm with side of vanilla ice cream. We were so thankful to be accommodated great new outdoor patio seating right on the street with amazing Marinaside view. My hubby and I are autoimmune compromised so it was nice we could reserved patio seating which most restaurants don’t do. Value of food, service, and ambiance totally worth it. I posted clips of video indoor & outdoor and menu to view. Enjoy.

5 Star Rating I recently organized a full buyout at Provence Marinaside for a special occasion, and I truly feel that everyone at the restaurant went above and beyond. We reserved the entire restaurant and planned the menu about a month in advance. In the last 48 hours before the event, I had to ask them to change the floor plan three times because our number of guests kept changing — yet when I arrived an hour before the event, the dining room looked absolutely spectacular. As it was a weekday, we were following a specific timeline, and the team managed to keep nearly 90 guests perfectly on schedule from the canapés to the four-course menu. Every course was beautifully presented, delicious, and portioned just right — which is rare for a multi-course dinner of that size. The service was impeccable. The staff’s attention to detail, customer care, and willingness to assist with anything I needed made the entire evening seamless. I genuinely felt I could rely on them at every moment. I couldn’t have asked for anything to go better. I would absolutely return for any important event and highly recommend Provence Marinaside for exceptional food, service, and hospitality.

5 Star Rating Taking a stroll from David Lam Park to Cooper’s Park led to an unexpected culinary delight—Provence Marinaside. So far, this place serves the best ravioli and baguette I’ve had in BC. The baguette was perfectly done—crispy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside. It was so good, we couldn’t resist ordering a second one. As for the ravioli? Simply the best in town. The balance between the sauce and the filling was spot on—rich, flavorful, and satisfying. Not everything hit the same high mark though. The meatballs had a lovely tomato sauce and were well-prepared, but $16 for two medium-sized pieces feels a bit steep. Worth trying, but not the best value. The only real disappointment was the steak. We ordered it medium, but it came out clearly overcooked. While we didn’t send it back (we don’t like wasting food), even at medium-well, it just met the standard—not exceptional. The sauce, however, was excellent. Service was attentive but not intrusive—staff showed up at just the right times and treated us well throughout the meal. Despite the letdown with the steak, the overall experience and quality of the other dishes were so good that I’m still giving Provence Marinaside a solid 5-star rating. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

5 Star Rating Last night we celebrated my bestie’s birthday in a new winter wonderland patio at Earls Yaletown, and honestly.. it felt like a dream🥹❄️✨✨ The vibes were so cozyyy, but what made the night truly unforgettable are our cutest server Kelly and the coolest manager Dan. 🥰🥰 Kelly made us feel so welcomed and special as you can see from smile on my face hehe, and her energy set the tone for such a happy celebration. PS she is also a cool photographer ;) And then there was THE manager, Dan, definition of caring and warm hospitality. He checked on us so kindly and you could tell he genuinely cared. It wasn’t just service, it was hosted with pure heart ♥️ Thank you Kelly and Dan for making my friend’s birthday night so special 💛 10/10 can’t wait to come back!!! ✨✨✨

4 Star Rating We like the patio in summer. The margarita pizza is very delicious. We come here a lot for different occasions so we like the happy hour menu. Jordan is the waiter most of the time serves us and he's also very helpful. I hope they fix the burger because the last time I ordered one it wasn't perfectly cooked and it was so greasy and Kelly was so nice to refund it.

5 Star Rating What a special experience on our first night on holidays in Canada! 🇨🇦 The staff including the manager were so open and enthusiastic about exploring destinations in their country. The food was outstanding and servings very generous! I had the tuna poke bowl with very fresh and high quality ingredients. My son had the spicy pizza with hot honey which was an amazing flavour combination. I couldn’t resist the seasonal pumpkin tart for dessert, although we rarely order dessert, and I certainly did not regret tasting it: beautiful pastry and spiced filling, the servings were quite large and I wish we had shared dessert… but then my husband and son were perfectly happy with their cheesecake too ☺️ Thank you Dan and his wonderful team for making this such a great experience!

5 Star Rating Before my friend’s return home, we had our last meal in Vancouver at Earls, and it was such a wonderful experience. Thanks to Kelly’s special care, our final dinner was filled with happiness. With her bright smile and warm heart, she kindly made sure we had everything we needed and that the food was to our taste. I truly hope this review reaches Kelly! As someone of the same nationality, I know how rare it is to meet someone like her while living abroad, and meeting such a great staff member on a special day made me twice as happy. Kelly, I am still touched by your service. I’ll definitely come back again. Thank you so much!
