To be honest, this is an awkward review, as the service and food is pretty decent. But as I spent over 450 per single person (I’m a lone eater and opened a bottle), 550 if we count for tip, I still have to rush through my courses and make way in 2 hrs for “reserved clients” as I was just a walk-in customer. I could have had better experience somewhere else probably. Maybe I should be grateful for walking in with a table I guess? Not sure

I really enjoyed the atmosphere here — the open kitchen adds a nice touch, and the food was impressive overall. From the seasoning to the presentation, everything was very appetizing. The Kobe-style short ribs, though, were a bit too soft and had too much fat. It got a little overwhelming to finish on my own.

Great place for a special occasion. The waiter was very knowledgeable and personable, he made great recommendations on food. We got the Char and Scallops as our mains and the tsunami and oysters as a starter. The cheesecake to end was delicious and had a little twist on the classic recipe. You can see the kitchen and sushi bar from anywhere you sit in the restaurant which is cool.

We decided to celebrate our anniversary at this beautiful restaurant last week. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth. The service was impeccable - attentive and knowledgeable. The staff took great care in explaining the menu and offering recommendations that enhanced the overall experience. Every course arrived promptly and with an artistry that showcased the chef’s passion for culinary excellence. I especially loved Smoked Sockeye Salmon Terrine - flavourful and perfectly prepared. While the main courses Sablefish and Free Range Chicken were beautifully cooked with balanced flavours, textures and presentation. To round off the meal, the dessert Elderflower Creme Brûlée was nothing short of divine. In every aspect, the restaurant excels. Whether it’s the artfully crafted dishes or the attentive, friendly service, it’s an experience I’ll be eager to repeat and recommend to friends.

We had an amazing experience dining as a group of six. Our server, Chris, was absolutely incredible. He guided us through the evening, making recommendations that elevated our meal. We started with the Seafood Tower, which was fantastic, and then he suggested an assortment of sushi that completely blew us away. Since we were all jet-lagged, Chris took the lead, making decisions with the confidence and expertise of a true professional. His exceptional service made our night unforgettable.
Be sure to ask for a table on the patio. They have a beautifully heated outdoor space that creates a cozy and inviting atmosphere—perfect for enjoying an excellent sushi experience. Highly recommend!

Dinner at Cactus Club – Always Solid
After a long day at work, we stopped by the Cactus Club Yaletown near home—our go-to spot for a reliable meal. We kicked things off with the Creole Fries with honey toss—super tasty and a great way to start. I always get the shredded chicken lettuce wraps (a personal favorite), but tonight they were a bit heavier on the sauce and spice than usual. Still good, just a little overwhelming.
The fish tacos and chicken burger were solid—nothing groundbreaking, but definitely satisfying. Honestly, that it up in general for us: nothing too fancy, but consistently good and comforting.
Shoutout to our server tonight—she was friendly and on top of everything, even though I didn’t catch her name. Service is usually good here, but tonight it was especially great.
We’ll be back again soon, as always.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner with our friends here. Started with apps including the tuna, calamari, and hot chicken and pickles (definitely spices but delicious) and then the main course, chargrilled steak and potatoes (amazing) and the salmon sushi (wife loved it). It was a little loud inside so it made carrying on conversations a little hard but not impossible. Very busy so would recommend setting a reservation.

I had a late dinner, my English professor suggested cactus club; she said they provide good food, atmosphere and service.
This Club always crowded , it drives me curious to try.
So I tried Baja tacos and Thai curry . For dessert new York cheesecake and key lime pie.
The tacos were good especially the Baja fish It was deep fried perfectly, savory and crispy. On the one hand, the Thai curry was under seasoned, it needed a little more spicy . The cheesecake was perfect combined with berry sauce and a yogurt mouse. However the key lime for me was a little bit bitter.
Overall it was fine.

The food is incredible. We decided to go for lunch the day after our dinner was so good. Unfortunately our server Raquel G ruined the entire experience for us. We were completely ignored, after she grudgingly took our initial order. We had to getup from our table, and ask another waiter to get us an order tea drink or another dish.
This is a pity, as our experience the night before was amazing. The lettuce wraps and salmon roll were delicious. My gin sour was delicious.

Great service by Preet , I mostly order veggie wrap from the Subway .TBH have been here so many times and always got disappointed by the service of the other staff members . This is the first time, I got the prefect wrap.
Once again thanks Preet for a good breakfast.

Very good service, clean Subway, plenty of seating indoors and outdoors even when the weather is cold. Very quick, kind and nice sandwich maker when I went in. There was a bit of a line and she was working alone but worked quickly and efficiently.

Never thought I'd write a review here but the lady working today at around 11:45AM was amazing. She was initially by herself and handled the SkipTheDishes system error professionally and even threw in a free cookie for me for the wait (not even Subway's fault). One of the best services I've ever witnessed.

What an amazing experience! My mom and I took my sister for her birthday dinner and we had such a good time. The food and ambience were 10/10. Our server was Craig and he was always there when we needed him without being intrusive and made the evening a little more fun with his jokes. The host and manager were also both really friendly and nice. Brix and Mortar is one of my favorite restaurants and I always enjoy their food and service.

This was easily the highlight of our first days in our honeymoon trip. Not only was the food amazing, but every single server in the restaurant congratulated us and made our experience special. A special thank you to Corey, that made the experience fun, personalized and special, even speaking to us in French when he recognized our mother-tongue. 10/10- would highly recommend.

Hands 🙌 Down one of favourite restaurants in DT. And that’s saying something as you can see from my reviews I’ve been too all the fancy restaurants here.
From the amazing service to the fantastic environment and patio. My gf and I just loved everything! We had happy hour drinks and their $39 2 course meal and you would think in 2025 it would be downsized? Nope, quality and quantity = excellent 👏
Ignore past reviews. They should be min 4.5 in our books and we live in the area, so no questions we’ll be back!! Cheers 🥂

The food at Brix is always good and I love eating there! It’s also nice that they periodically change their menu. They just came out with a new menu and it’s awesome! I loved the cucumber salad, meat and cheese plate, and the buttermilk fried chicken. Cucumber salad may not sound exciting, but this one had an awesome dressing and tasted so great (also looked beautiful)! The meat and cheese plate was also a unique and creative as it’s not like other plates you can put together at home because it came with potato chips made in house. Another fun dish is the pimento cheese with Frito lays chips - very creative! Hope Brix continues to come up with innovative food as always!

🌟 Amazing Lebanese Food at Nuba in Yaletown! 🌟
If you’re looking for delicious, healthy, and flavorful Lebanese food, Nuba in Yaletown is a must-visit! Everything from the food to the atmosphere and service was top-notch.
🍽️ The Food (5/5)
We tried a few dishes, and honestly, every single one was a hit!
✅ Najib’s Special (Crispy Cauliflower) – Hands down the BEST dish of the night! Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft inside, and packed with flavor. The dip made it even better!
✅ Chicken Skewers – So juicy and tender, paired with creamy hummus and pickled veggies. Loved the balance of flavors!
✅ Makanek (Lebanese Sausages) – These little sausages were packed with spices and had a slightly sweet glaze. Super tasty with the yogurt sauce!
Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and not overly greasy. You can really tell they use quality ingredients.
🏡 The Atmosphere (4.5/5)
The vibe here is warm and inviting, with a nice blend of modern and Middle Eastern decor. It’s a bit on the cozy side, so it can get busy, but that just adds to the energy. Highly recommend making a reservation, especially for dinner!
💁♀️ The Service (5/5)
The staff was super friendly and helpful! They gave great recommendations and checked in just the right amount. The food came out at a good pace, and we never felt rushed.
💰 Worth the Price? (4.5/5)
Prices are a little on the higher side, but considering the fresh ingredients and overall experience, it’s totally worth it. Plus, they have tons of vegan options, which is a big plus!
📌 Final Thoughts – Highly Recommend!
Whether you’re a fan of Lebanese cuisine or just want to try something new, Nuba in Yaletown won’t disappoint. The crispy cauliflower and chicken skewers are absolute must-tries!
🔥 Rating: 5/5 🔥
📍 Location: Yaletown, Vancouver
📅 Make a reservation if you’re coming for dinner!
Would 100% come back again! 🙌

That is a very nice place, with a lot of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. I got the drink on the house and it was delicious and refreshing lemonade. Didn’t get the chance to ask a servers name, but he was delightful and very friendly. The food was well seasoned and really tasty. I also asked about the weight of lamb to count the proteins and they provided that to me. I would rate it 6 stars if I could.

I recently visited Nuba in Yaletown, and overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience. The restaurant has a warm and inviting ambiance, perfect for a relaxed meal.
The food was the real highlight—every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented. I tried the Lamb Kafta, and the lamb had an authentic Lebanese taste. The hummus was exceptionally creamy and paired well with fresh pita bread. Service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience.
Pricing was on the higher side, but given the quality of the food and atmosphere, I felt it was worth it.
Would I recommend Nuba? Absolutely! Especially if you love Middle Eastern flavors and want a cozy yet stylish spot in Vancouver.

The restaurant has a nice, slightly upscale atmosphere, and while the food was okay, it didn’t quite meet expectations given the high prices and small portions.
We ordered octopus, which unfortunately was a bit overcooked and had a burnt taste. When I politely brought it up, the waitress responded in a way that felt dismissive and a little rude—saying that I shouldn’t have eaten it if I wanted it changed, even though I wasn’t actually asking for a replacement. That kind of attitude left a bad impression.
Overall, the experience was just average—decent food, but not memorable, and the service left room for improvement.

I came here for their dine out special for the second time and am still so impressed by the food! The miso fish was flavourful but my personal fav is the champagne roll from their sushi set. Absolutely delicious!

Had an amazing time here with my fiancée celebrating my birthday! She surprised me a resy, and I’ve never been or heard of Minami prior to today. I learned that it was a sister restaurant to Miku (which we both love)! We started the night off with cocktails, I had an old fashion and my fiancée had a vodka sparkling wine drink which was super refreshing. We both had the Minami tasting menu ($98) CA and it was satisfying in terms of volume and how full we were. All the dishes were good and some more delicious than others. Top dishes we enjoyed were the beets, steak and all the sushi that came with the set. The rice had a perfect balance in flavor with the sweetness and sourness of the vinegar and the texture was perfect. Did not have any expectations for the dessert (green tea pastry) but it was truly amazing and included in the set. Also received a bday dessert sampler which I was very thoughtful!

Stopped in for an early dinner before a wine tasting event and arrived just in time for Happy Hour at 5pm. The $2.95 oysters were fresh and succulent, an excellent deal. We also ordered the crab dip, which was rich and flavorful, though it could’ve used a bit more bread for scooping. The place was packed, so I was glad to have booked ahead.

Rodney's Oyster House in Yaletown is an absolute gem for seafood lovers! The Caesar with a giant shrimp was unreal—perfectly balanced and packed with flavor. The Clam Chowder was a delicious surprise, rich and comforting. The clams cooked with wine were incredibly fresh and flavorful. While the portion sizes are on the smaller side, the quality, taste, and service more than make up for it. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and creates a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend for anyone craving top-notch seafood in Vancouver!

If someone were to ask me for my favorite seafood restaurant on earth, Rodney's Oyster House in Vancouver would be towards the top of that list! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with a lively and welcoming atmosphere, with incredibly knowledgeable staff that are passionate about their oysters, guiding you through the impressive selection with genuine enthusiasm. And the oysters themselves? Simply divine – so fresh, briny, and perfectly shucked. Beyond the stellar oysters, the rest of the seafood menu is equally impressive, with dishes bursting with flavor. The service is top-notch, attentive without being intrusive. It's the perfect spot for a special occasion or a casual night out with friends. Five stars all the way – a must-visit for any seafood lover in Vancouver!

Really good stuff here! I don’t like the fishy after taste of eating seafood but surprisingly I had none of it eating the oysters and the lobster. The sliders were delicious! I ordered lobster poutine, it’s really tasty. All the portion sizes were quite big and filling. I tried their oysters and they’re indeed very fresh. Staff was also friendly and attentive, and the food came in fast. I highly recommend!

Taking a stroll from David Lam Park to Cooper’s Park led to an unexpected culinary delight—Provence Marinaside.
So far, this place serves the best ravioli and baguette I’ve had in BC. The baguette was perfectly done—crispy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside. It was so good, we couldn’t resist ordering a second one. As for the ravioli? Simply the best in town. The balance between the sauce and the filling was spot on—rich, flavorful, and satisfying.
Not everything hit the same high mark though. The meatballs had a lovely tomato sauce and were well-prepared, but $16 for two medium-sized pieces feels a bit steep. Worth trying, but not the best value.
The only real disappointment was the steak. We ordered it medium, but it came out clearly overcooked. While we didn’t send it back (we don’t like wasting food), even at medium-well, it just met the standard—not exceptional. The sauce, however, was excellent.
Service was attentive but not intrusive—staff showed up at just the right times and treated us well throughout the meal.
Despite the letdown with the steak, the overall experience and quality of the other dishes were so good that I’m still giving Provence Marinaside a solid 5-star rating. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

It is a huge restaurant offering both patio heated and indoor seating. Located right by the water, it offers a very relaxing ambiance. Decent quality except the scallops I had is a bit sandy. The pasta is on the salty side especially the salmon. They offer a dessert for the birthday person which is very generous these days. Attentive service. Overall an enjoyable experience.

Had a fantastic time with my dog! Pet friendly patio, excellent service from the time you step to be greeted, through end to service to make you feel pampered! The bennys and focaccia were to die far, the potatoes very indulgent! Ordered a side portion of ham and bacon for my doggo, served in her own little container and water bowl with ice. Coffee was refilled timely, with a keen eye to ensure you had everything you needed. The spot is by the waters, great location near Yaletown doc with lots of vegetarian options.
Feedback: I would recommend though to have options to swap meat with vegetarian options like mushroom or avocado without an extra charge, it's common practice in majority of breakfast spots, so was surprised to hear this, a slight let down in comparison to the impeccable service and great quality of food. Will definitely visit again.
You should sell your focaccia, I'm sure you'll have long queues to buy it! 10/10 :)

We truly enjoyed our recent customer experience at Earls in Yaletown. We were seated out on the patio where we could people watch and enjoy the busy night scene unfold with fresh, delicious drinks.
We shared the spicy California roll, calamari, yam fries and spicy Asian chicken dragon wraps and all were delicious.
And I discovered a watermelon radish for the first time.
I love this downtown Vancouver location and it's vibe.
