Oakridge Park
Oakridge Park in Vancouver is an upscale shopping complex conveniently located adjacent to the Oakridge - 41st Avenue SkyTrain Station on the Canada Line
Oakridge Centre, once Vancouver's first shopping mall, is undergoing a monumental transformation into Oakridge Park. The original structure, which closed in 2020, is being redeveloped into a world-class cultural and retail hub, set to reopen in Spring 2025. This ambitious project will blend luxury retail, residential living, public art, and a stunning nine-acre park.
The Vision for Oakridge Park
The new Oakridge Park is designed to be more than just a shopping centre; it's a fully integrated community. The project will feature a mix of luxury and mainstream retailers, a wide array of dining experiences from a unique food hall to fine dining, and significant cultural spaces, including a library and performance venues.
A Look at the Future
- World-Class Shopping: A curated selection of global luxury brands and unique local retailers.
- A Culinary Hub: Over 100,000 square feet of space dedicated to food, including a food hall, cafes, and restaurants.
- A Nine-Acre Park: A massive urban park featuring running and walking trails, public art, and event spaces.

Why It's Worth the Wait
- Unmatched Convenience: Direct access to the Canada Line SkyTrain makes it one of the most accessible destinations in the city.
- A New City Hub: It promises to be a vibrant centre for shopping, dining, living, and culture in Vancouver.
- Architectural Landmark: The design itself is set to be an architectural marvel, blending seamlessly with the surrounding parkland.

Oakridge Park Reviews

Visiting Oakridge Park (the revamped mall at 650 W 41st Ave) was a sleek, spacious treat—bright, airy interiors with soaring ceilings, elegant fountains, and that fresh luxury vibe shining through in spots like the high-end stores and Crate & Barrel. The single-storey layout made it easy to wander, with casual eats like Freshslice Pizza hitting quick and tasty, plus the promise of the upcoming Time Out Market food hall adding excitement. Friendly crowds, great natural light, and a modern upscale feel made it a solid spot for shopping or a relaxed browse, especially as it gears up for its full spring 2026 glow-up!

Oakridge Park has a lot of potential, but in its current state it’s more frustrating than enjoyable. While the redevelopment is clearly ambitious, the mall feels unfinished and awkward to navigate, with limited open stores and a layout that doesn’t yet feel intuitive.
Shopping options are sparse, and many visits end up feeling like a detour rather than a destination. It often feels more like a construction zone in transition than a functioning mall, which makes it hard to relax or spend meaningful time there. The atmosphere lacks warmth, and there’s very little that encourages you to stay longer than necessary.

I had a great day at Oakridge Park. I walked around and saw so many cool stores and fun things to look at. There were nice places to eat and grab a drink when I got hungry. I liked how easy it was to get there by SkyTrain and I could shop and walk around for a long time before getting tired. The mall is clean and the people who work there are friendly. I even found some new clothes and toys that I really liked. It felt like a big adventure and I would go back again with my family.

This place feels like a work in progress with big ideas and yet still a real part of daily life in Vancouver. Oakridge Park used to be Oakridge Centre, a mall that folks here grew up going to for shopping and eating. It is now being reimagined into a larger, bustling urban hub that aims to mix living, working, culture, nature, and retail all in one place. It’s planned to offer spaces for events, live music, fashion, food, and parks right in the heart of the city, connected to the Canada Line so it’s easy to access from downtown or the airport.

Oakridge Park might take some time to fully redevelop, but I look forward to seeing the construction completed by the next time I return to Vancouver. Transit oriented density is necessary at this site, as well as a thriving shopping area for the new residences in this neighbourhood.
