We were delighted to find this place in a beautiful park setting. It has great food to go along with the view and some of the friendliest people in Paris. I will definitely be back and be recommending this place to all of my friends that come visit. I love that they are inclusive and welcoming, all sorts of people were here, young and old, men and women, human and dog. (I think the dogs were only outside.)

Perfectly located within Buttes-Chaumont parc, this trendy bar and restaurant offers plenty of space, both indoors with funky décor and outdoors on the terrace. They serve tapas, pizzas, and a variety of seasonal, homemade dishes. It’s also quite family-friendly, with a foosball table and high chairs available 👌

Located inside of the park and closed to the metro station, nice fun energetic queer bar and children friendly, drag race screening was fun to watch. It’s in the Paris metropolitan area, so I did pass through some scary part of Paris to get there, but once you are here it’s all rainbows and glitter.

Super chill, a safe space with great staff and a fantastic vibe, perfect for grabbing a drink and chatting up near the heights of Buttes-Chaumont, plus the pizza is amazing! ☀️☺️

Great pizza when they have it otherwise there are plenty of great apero type food items. Beer is a bit pricy for my taste but it is in a park so there is a premium. There is a foosball table for kids and is generally kid-friendly. Lots of space inside and out.

The shopkeeper was very kind and welcoming. However, the value for money was rather poor (frozen bread, tasteless chicken, stale cucumber), and hygiene needs improvement (dirty work surface, unwashed hands even though you were on your phone when I arrived, mayonnaise spilled on the table and then put back in my sandwich). The sandwich itself was quite good.

The food was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were great too. The atmosphere was scenic and relaxing. I mainly wanted to write this review because our waiter was the sweetest guy. He didn't speak much english but he still engaged with us and offered to take our photo (I included it hehe). He was a sweetheart and I wish him all the best. Would definitely recommend!

What a fantastic little place to eat, right next to a huge park, so you can walk then eat and drink! Their food is equal to any goumet restaurant, but at affordable prices. I ate here twice: first the sea bass (dorade) with asparagus and a mountain of top quality crunchy chunks of baguette. The second time I enjoyed a huge bowl of vegetable Pad Thai, with four giant king prawns, the largest I have ever seen! Everything was perfectly seasoned, the fish filet with garlic and fresh basil, so very enjoyable! Lovely people too!

Excellent place. Based on an American theme (unsurprising as it is, I believe, a small American chain). Makes a change from the standard breakfast options. We went for a "brunch" and did not regret the choice. The youngest had a stack of 3 (enormous) pancakes with a blueberry compote in between each one and a scoop of icecream on top. A really welcome change from tinned whipped cream. The amount was too much even for his wildest dream of a sugar fix. The rest of us had eggs benediction with bacon. Nicely cooked crisp bacon on top of 2 perfectly poached eggs all covered by a gloriously tart hollandaise sauce and some finely chopped salad. It was served with some slices of baguette and butter which were lovely to mop up the yolks and remaining sauce. We had also ordered the baguette with apricot jam which was not needed but absolutely delicious. Overall, excellent value and quality.

Generous portions for brunch, but finally realized uncooked seafood is no more good for me, so next time I will select bacon instead of salmon, in addition tea comes with luke warm water, whereas hot water will be preferable, I wish, above all, alles gud

Delicious food but the waitress working the evening of May 30th was extremely hostile and incompetent. She dropped a to-go box on the dirty sidewalk and then we witnessed her hand it to a couple sitting at another table as if nothing had happened. She also spilled my mom's salad in the ash tray on our table and walked off, made absolutely no effort to clean it up or apologize.

My third time in que du bon always the same pleasure. Lovely staff, brilliant wines and such a delicate work in offals. Best brain ever appreciated the fact that it was not fried like in most places. Veal liver was also perfectly cooked and the texture of the greens matched it perfectly

So many interesting menu options such as cervelle de veau (veal brain), sweetbread (veal thymus), and more. All with intense flavors and high-quality ingredients. Every dish was so good! I didn’t leave a single drop of sauce!! I mean, really! The restaurant was a bit crowded and a little loud, with small tables placed quite close together, but it didn’t bother me. And we didn’t expect the dessert to be sooo good! homemade rhubarb ice cream with meringue. The ice cream was perfectly smooth, with a hint of Negroni. Incredible! We will definitely come back again!

I have eaten ris de veau, a.k.a. sweetbreads or mollejas de res, all over the world, including at multiple Michelin starred restaurants, and cooked them many times myself. These were undoubtedly the best I have ever had. Anywhere. A sensation. A miracle. The service and the environment also outstanding. Especially if you don’t like people talking you to death. Friendly and efficient. Excellent recommendations. La cervelle de veau, rice pudding, and Armagnac also all beautiful. Cannot describe how highly I recommend this restaurant. Reserve sweetbreads and brain in advance.

This friendly casual spot ticked all the boxes for me - excellent menu, extensive natural wine list, knowledgeable friendly service. We knew we were in for a winner as two friends had recommended it. The menu formule was an affordable 22€ for 3 courses but we opted for à la carte dishes and weren’t disappointed. I had the veal tongue pastrami followed by the turbot, washed down with a Chenin blanc. It was all exceptional. Highly recommend booking ahead

Wonderful neighborhood place with an impressive wine board. Two English speaking waitresses were busy but very helpful. Menu (attached) features game and offal. We started with thinly sliced veal tongue and thinly sliced pig ears. Wonderful. For mains we ate sweet breads and a crout stuffed with wild boar (vol-au-vent). Desert was a berry tarte. Located in the 18th so a bit of a project to get there but it’s not to be missed

Nice, small place, friendly, fast and smiling service. :) Affligem beer is really good, kind of sweet, not too strong. You can also get food from here, even some vegetarian options. They speak English here. And what else...maybe ought to visit the restroom here if going to the park.

Enjoyed an absolutely delicious lunch! We both had 4 hour cooked beef with truffle cream and potatoes. Was amazing. And the service was fantastic too, this was our last meal in Paris before heading home and was delighted it was lovely!

Went to this place as we were staying close and the staff were so welcoming. The pasta wasn’t available until 7pm but the staff made it a little earlier, we were happy to wait but so pleased they went the extra mile. Loved the food so much we got take away on our last night in Paris. The pepperoni pizza and the spaghetti bolognaise are so tasty, would recommend these for sure.

Our last night in Paris on a raining evening we went into this restaurant not expecting much as it was fairly empty and looked a bit drab. However, we all had a wonderful meal. The service was friendly and attentive and we loved our food. My wife and I had the Chicken Schnitzel which came with a beautiful Spaghetti Bolognese. My teenagers had the pizza. Despite going through Italy for a fortnight, we still look back on this meal as one of the better Italian inspired feeds we had on our trip. It was reasonably priced for the centre of Paris with generous portions.

Whenever I travel to Paris, I make a point of seeking out places that serve authentic couscous and tajines. Ironically, it’s not always easy. Given the city’s rich North African heritage, you’d expect Paris to be a haven for this kind of cuisine—but more often than not, the experience falls short. This time, however, was different. For the first time, I had a truly perfect meal. The Couscous Royal was outstanding—beautifully cooked and served in generous portions (generous enough that finishing it felt like a personal achievement). The semolina, in particular, deserves special mention: light, fluffy, and full of flavor. It may sound unusual to focus on semolina, but I had genuinely never tasted it prepared so well. The vegetables—chunky carrots, celery, and courgettes—were paired with a sauce that struck the perfect balance: rich and deeply seasoned, yet light enough to complement rather than overwhelm the dish. The accompanying meat platter featured four pieces, each one tender and full of flavor. Simply delicious. The lamb tajine was equally exceptional—rich, fragrant, and perfectly cooked. This restaurant has firmly earned its place on my list of favorite spots in Paris. The café itself is simple and unpretentious, which only adds to its charm. Its location, right next to the beautiful Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, makes it even more special—perfect for a long, leisurely walk afterward to digest such an indulgent meal. The wine, like everything else, was excellent. I wholeheartedly recommend this place and sincerely hope the quality and service remain just as impeccable in the future

Wonderful experience here with a family party of 16 which they accommodated with grace and efficiency. We took up one whole side of the outside area. They could not have been more helpful with the children's likes and dislikes, especially as one has a severe peanut allergy and another eats practically nothing but avocados and cucumber. Four of the group are vegetarians and really enjoyed the vegetarian couscous and salads. The entrecôte steaks for the meat eaters were huge! The food was great and the service outstanding. Highly recommended!

This place is an absolute gem. It is famous for its roast chicken and fries, and probably for being one of the cheapest places to get them. The portion of chicken may not be huge, but it is still an excellent deal and absolutely delicious. Both the chicken and the fries were full of flavor. They also offer other simple French starters, such as pâté and eggs with mayonnaise, as well as other homemade dishes and desserts. It feels like a very local spot, simple and authentic, with a real neighborhood atmosphere. Everything was very tasty, the prices were very affordable, and overall it was a great experience. I would absolutely recommend it.

Typically french bistro. Cheap and noisy. If you want the french experience, I definitely recommend it. The food is simple they are doing volume to reduce the price and so you will not pay that much. The best will be to arrive a little bit before noon or 19h if you want to have a place straight away or you will have to queued to get a spot. They use every single space to put a table. It definitely bring you into an old version of France.

Absolutely loved this place. Such a warm and wonderful atmosphere, incredibly friendly hosts who helped us understand what was on the menu even through the language barrier. Food was delicious and lovingly made. I recommend the poulet frites and the fresh orange juice and the lemon meringue tarte with coffee. We will certainly be back!

We had a wonderful lunch here. The chicken and fries were tasty and unbelievable value. The lemon meringue pie was incredible. The best I’ve ever had. Lunch was amazing and very good value. I wish I could return. There are some bad reviews here related to not speaking English. I don’t understand- you are visiting France! If you are polite and make an effort to use a bit of French (even use Google Translate) you will not have any problems. The staff and professional and friendly if you try.

Super bon! The food is amazing an perfectly crafted. I had the artichokes and the veal and everything was on point. The service and the atmosphere is super too. They give you their recommendations and even the background playlist is matching the great atmosphere in the dining area. Prices are as well matching with the taste of the dishes. Can only recommend to visit the restaurant before it gets hyped in the near future.

We heard about Gilou through friends living in Paris and were lucky enough to get a table when we visited for the weekend. It did not disappoint: delicious food; great wine recommendations; and a lovely vibe. We will definitely be coming back on our next trip. This is a must-do if you’re in the area and able to get a reservation!

We went for dinner on a Saturday night. The waiters were really helpful explaining the dishes. The wine choice on the menu was delicious and food was incredible. It was a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant too.

A great place to eat well with good music (not too loud to prevent conversations) and a vibrant atmosphere. The service is friendly, efficient and knowledgeable about their food and wine. We paid approx. €60 per person, aperitif, starter, main and dessert, plus a glass of wine. Good value for money. Well worth a try.
