A timeless Parisian experience.
Café de la Paix is more than just a brasserie — it’s a piece of Parisian history. The setting is absolutely stunning, with its magnificent Belle Époque décor and an atmosphere that feels both elegant and welcoming.
We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast: excellent coffee, fresh juice, and delicious crêpes, all beautifully presented. The quality of the ingredients was evident, simple yet refined, exactly what you expect from such an iconic place.
Service was attentive, professional, and pleasant, making the experience even more enjoyable. Sitting there, you truly feel the soul of Paris — unhurried, refined, and timeless.

The restaurant side was much quieter than the café side, which I appreciated, and service started off very well. However, once the room became only slightly busier, it felt less attentive and at times a little impatient, which surprised me for a restaurant at this level.
The food was a mixed bag. The drinks were strong, the oysters were delicious, the foie gras was good, and the beef tournedos was excellent. The millefeuille was also a lovely dessert. But other dishes were underwhelming: the white asparagus was bland and unevenly cooked, the crab with lime lacked flavor, and the sea bass with crispy rice was disappointing. Our side of fries was also forgotten and only arrived after we reminded the staff, lukewarm.
I’m glad I tried it, but for the price, I expected a more polished and consistent experience.

Café de la Paix was absolutely outstanding. We had the croque monsieur and croque madame, and they were the most perfect and delicious versions we’ve ever tried. The cheese was truly French in both style and flavor, rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced.
Everything was executed flawlessly, from the crisp bread to the silky béchamel and beautifully melted cheese. A classic done to perfection in an iconic setting.
An unforgettable experience and a must-visit for anyone who loves authentic French cuisine.

I came on Saturday afternoon around 3 p.m. I needed to queue about 5 minutes but then soon got a table for 5 people. The staffs were really nice and they spoke English quite well. I ordered an iced matcha latte. The interior decorations were really beautiful. A good place to take beautiful pictures.

Some places you visit… and some you remember.
Café de la Paix is the kind of place that makes you slow down without even realising it. The setting, the light, the way the food arrives… everything feels intentional.
The dishes were beautifully presented and full of flavour, but it was the overall experience that made it stand out. There is a sense of ease and quiet elegance that is hard to find.
It felt like Paris… in the best way.

A wonderful place with a truly luxurious atmosphere. The design of the restaurant is very stylish and elegant you feel comfortable and impressed from the very first moment. The interior is thoughtfully designed and creates the perfect setting for a special evening.
The food was also excellent. We ordered a seafood platter, escargots, meat, and prosecco everything was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. You can really feel the quality and care in every dish.
Overall, this is the kind of restaurant you visit for the atmosphere, great food, and a memorable evening. Highly recommended for dinner or a special occasion.

My wife had a craving for seafood so we ventured into this lovely restaurant which served up some great food which did not disappoint. The quality of the food was excellent esp the French onion soup and seafood platter. The waiter who served us was friendly and took time to explain some the dishes to us and as a bonus, we bumped into Zendaya right after the meal as there was movie reception next door. Only in Paris!

My favorite place in Paris! We come back here every time. Incredibly delicious cuisine, snails, foie gras, duck breast, tar tar, the freshest seafood and, of course, crepe flambe! The waiters are very caring, special thanks to Shimul!!!
You are the best!!!!

My experience at Hippopotamus Steakhouse in Paris was truly exceptional!
From the very first moment, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The lighting, décor, and even the people inside created a wonderful and inviting environment, perfect for enjoying a relaxed meal.
The food was outstanding — incredibly tasty, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried reflected high-quality ingredients and great attention to detail.
A special mention goes to the service, which was absolutely excellent and extremely attentive. The staff were polite, friendly, and genuinely eager to help with anything we needed, making the entire experience even more enjoyable.
It is clearly far superior to the corresponding location on 68 Bd du Montparnasse, both in terms of food quality and overall service and dining experience.
I would definitely visit again and highly recommend it!

The beef steak had far too many chewy tendons, and I expected much better quality. The kids’ menu was good and fairly diverse. On the positive side, the service was fast and efficient.

Mathias was a great server. He helped us pick a good option as our French was limited. Looks like most of the staff speak some english. Busy area so be sure to get here early!

Overall, this was a less than average experience. The food was good, but the service really affected our visit. The 3 stars are only for our waiter’s attitude, he was fine. Unfortunately, the welcoming team was disappointing. They saw us several times sitting at the table and acted as if we weren’t there, which made us feel ignored. With better attention and hospitality at the entrance, the experience could be much improved.

We had dinner here on our last night in Paris, and it did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was high quality and incredibly tasty. It was surprisingly busy for a Wednesday evening, filled with locals—which is always a great sign.
Despite how busy it was, the service remained excellent. The staff was attentive, the food arrived quickly, and everything was beautifully presented. The combination of quality, flavor, and service made for a wonderful dining experience.
I highly recommend this restaurant.

Awesome experience. The food was delicious and very well presented (the veau is super delicious, the best I've ever tasted). The staff is very cool and friendly starting from the waitress arriving to the chef. And what about the environment? Super cool, this open patio in which you can eat outside also during the winter. What else I can say? Go there.

It’s a shame having such opportunity to use this beautiful place to have a Starbucks that wouldn’t respect the building by having clean rest room and dish up employe not washing his hands. What does it takes to keep it clean?
Service counter employees are very nice.

Starbucks on Boulevard des Capucines is one of the prettiest Starbucks stores in Paris. It’s located inside a converted 17th-century courtyard, and the interior is stunning and unlike any other Starbucks in the city.
The staff member who served me was really enthusiastic and friendly. She appeared to have not only great knowledge about the coffee and the menu, but she seemed so happy to be there and helped make my experience a better one.
I ordered an Iced Toffee Nut Latte, the coffee did taste slightly weak, and it was far too milky for my liking, but I liked how they served it in a regular glass, compared to paper/plastic
I did find it to be very busy, even visiting at mid-day on a Monday, it was difficult to find a table, and the few free tables were unclean with crumbs/spillages/empty cups.
One of the best-looking Starbucks locations in the city, with a super-friendly barista, although beverage quality and cleanliness could be improved.
Aaron - 6 months ago
I happened to find this Starbucks by chance, and the interior was truly grand. As it is near the opera house, I wondered if that was the reason for such an impressive design, although I did not look into the history. Having a coffee and a piece of pastry, or even just a single cup of coffee, felt like enjoying tea in a five-star hotel.
The lighting and tables created a stylish atmosphere, almost as if I were sitting in the library at the Musée d’Orsay reading a book or working on a computer. It made the whole place feel even more elegant. The staff were also attentive, regularly walking around and quickly clearing and cleaning tables after customers left.
As with many Starbucks branches, there was a constant queue for the toilets, so they were not perfectly clean, but it almost seemed harder to maintain because the toilets looked even busier than the coffee counter.
Compared with this branch, the first Starbucks that opened in London feels rather modest.

I'm not a Starbucks fan, but this one is truly one of the most beautiful Starbucks in the world, and since I was in the neighborhood, I didn't want to pass it up. It's so beautiful that most of the time is crowded, so you'll struggle to get a table. Once that's done, you can enjoy your coffee, which tastes the same in almost every country. We accompanied it with a delicious slice of pie. I recommend not skipping this visit.

This restaurant made me genuinely ask myself if italian cuisine is better than Asian’s. My conclusion is YES. The xiao long bao were astonishing, noodles, beans, meats were like a simphony in my mouth, not exaggerating. Highly suggest to visit

I liked the open kitchen where the lady was making dumplings. It seems that the restaurant is owned and operated by an elderly couple, who were very nice.
We ordered various dishes. Among those, I liked the Yangzhou fried rice. The dumplings were not good; I just couldn't understand why they were sweet. The Sichuan spicy fried chicken was also not spicy, but sweet. We arrived one hour before closing time, so maybe they were tired and provided subpar dishes. At least, that’s what I want to believe.

Food was GREAT 👍. The owners are very friendly and nice. When we asked for the best route to the Effie tower, they help us and provided several different routes.
Eat here and I’m pretty sure they (both food and service) won’t let you down! 😇

Food was excellent, and the co-owner was the server who talked to us as they had just opened doors at 1900H. Loved the explanation of the food and the wine, ended up with us just getting the bottle after tasting. We were given tap water and bread with butter to start, and the food was delicious 😋 Would recommend this diner, quieter than those along the main road.
