This restaurant, located inside Gare de Lyon in Paris, has one of the most beautiful interiors I’ve ever seen. The grand, palace-like decor is absolutely stunning, with magnificent ceilings, beautiful paintings, and elegant details throughout. It’s hard to believe that such an extraordinary restaurant is located inside a train station. I honestly can’t imagine finding another train station restaurant with an interior this impressive. We had a reservation, so we were seated right away without any wait, and we were given a lovely table. The food wasn’t quite to my personal taste, but the beautiful surroundings and wonderful atmosphere made the experience very special. The interior alone is well worth a visit😉❣️

Booked a reservation for my mom’s birthday, it had been her dream to go eat there at least once. The service has been impeccable, the lady on the phone when i called was very polite and we only had a little waiting time when arriving which is normal everywhere. The waiters were very nice and professional. Especially when they learned it was my mom’s birthday, they also provide sparkling water from St-Geron which is rare nowadays but so fancy and delicious! We had a wonderful and tasty 3 courses meal and champagne. 😋 And got the famous crepe Suzette made in front of us!!

Le Train Bleu is, without question, one of the most breathtaking and historic dining rooms in Paris. The space itself is absolutely magnificent. The architecture, the painted ceilings, the chandeliers, the grandeur. It truly feels like stepping into another era. The atmosphere alone makes the visit worthwhile. However, while the setting is extraordinary, I believe the cuisine does not quite live up to the level that such a remarkable place deserves. The food was good, but not memorable, and certainly not at the standard one would expect in a restaurant of this historic stature. In a venue of this beauty and legacy, the culinary experience should feel equally elevated. With some evolution and refinement in the kitchen, it could truly match the magic of the space. Still, it remains an iconic Parisian location that is worth experiencing for its atmosphere alone.

This rating started out as a 1 star when we arrived, after making reservations months ago, and they tried to seat us facing a wall at the back corner. We requested a table out where we could view the amazing ambiance, and that was readily accommodated - great! We sat there for 20 mins... tried to make eye contact with a server to just get drinks started even. Nope. We waved over the gal who sat us and asked via Google translate if someone could take our order. She went over to the server and he nodded. Another 5 mins passed (while we watched him clean plates off a table!?), and he finally came over. He said bonsoir, we smiled said bonsoir, AND HE WALKED AWAY! Now we were very confused, as he walked over to a table that had arrived 10 mins after us and took THEIR order. I scanned the "rate us on Google" placard on our table and just like that an AMAZING gentleman shows up and from that moment on, the service was fantastic. Turns out he's worked there for 40 years! HE gets 5 stars. If it were not for him, there was no amount of ambiance and amazing photo ops that would have made this worth it. We had visited Museé D'Orsay and had lunch there and were more wowed, to be frank. Le Train Bleu cocktail was fresh and pleasant. The sea bass was not crispy skinned as stated on the menu, served as a stew essentially, the vegetables were over cooked and the gnocchi soggy. The lamb was not carved at the table as indicated on the menu, but was very good. The chicken dish was also good. The crepes were amazing! Would I recommend...? I don't think it's worth the hype. But the people watching was fun.

Very nice interior and super-friendly staff. They welcome you with a small complimentary starter, which is a lovely touch. I ordered the salad to start—a really nice combination of high-quality apricots and walnuts with a balsamic dressing. For the main course, I chose the lamb, which came with a delicious potato gratin. To finish, they offered me a lovely glass of cava and mini madeleines on the house. A really enjoyable dining experience from start to finish!

An authentic and family restaurant, with excellent French cuisine at a very reasonable price. The service is very attentive and helpful! Without a doubt, a great option to eat and spend a wonderful evening in Paris. (don't forget to try their duck... simply spectacular!)

This restaurant is such a lovely place for dinner. The owner also be the waitress is so friendly and helpful, even though with tourists. The menu is simple but every dish has its own signature with an unbelievable cheap price. Really really highly recommend. P.s: the capacity is quite small so dont come so late after the opening time.

Small restaurant with French home made food and attentive service. We have been a group of 5 people, the waitress treated us very friendly and showed a lot of patience. The food was absolutely delicious. They offer combination of starters, main courses and a desserts. Thank you, we had a wonderful evening.

What an amazing French restaurant! Husband cooks and the wife waits the tables with some help. The service is something out of a diary book because it’s so personal and friendly. The food is all freshly prepared and the menu changes. I’ve spent many weeks in Paris over the past few summers and this is where I go to have my best food. Glad to visit today as they’re taking a family holiday tomorrow for a week. Yum yum yum.

They even welcomed us the next day at midnight and it felt like being with family- you know those late nights when mum waited for you with some nice food after partying. A European-style restaurant that offers very reasonably priced courses, perfect for those who want to just enjoy a meal without staying for drinks. The beef is cooked beautifully, and the service is excellent. It’s definitely another truly impressive dining experience.

We stayed at the Gare de Lyon Marriott and this restaurant was a block away. The food - mostly steak Au poivre, duck confit, huge oysters, and profiteroles were out of this world delicious. We loved it so much because the atmosphere was lively, service was amazing, that we went at least 5 times for dinner. Loved the friendly engaging waiters who seemed truly happy to converse in English with a French twist. They even opened late until 1-2 am and were the only ones opened when we got back from the Eiffel Tower one night.

The food is very good and good variety of the menu. I tried the traditional French choucroute with seafood, the shrimp is impressively good The restaurant is bright and comfy and the manager is very funny and friendly. I definitely recommend here

Very disappointing experience. The prices are quite high, but the food didn't match the cost. The fries were not fresh and seemed reheated, which affected the overall meal. The fish was just okay, but nothing special. I expected much better quality for the price. I wouldn't return unless the food quality improves.

We stayed at the hotel close by and we were looking for good food and found this place and had been eating here every night of our visit in Paris. We had calzone and Scaloppina allamilanese. They both are so good.... We keep having same thing every night. Don't want to take a chance at other place. Tiramisu was a good choice for dessert too!

Love their pizzas and the relaxing vibe here. The aubergine one was my favourite and surprisingly super yummy. Came back another day for the spicy chorizo one which was also very good. Don’t eat cheese but forgot to ask not to have cheese when ordering at 2nd visit but the gentleman who served the pizza to me was very kind and immediately returned the pizza to kitchen without question when I told him that and brought me a new one without cheese 15minutes later. Will definitely come back next time in Paris. Highly recommended for everyone who wants a slice of good pizza 🍕 (espresso is very good too)

The lasagna was excellent. Full of flavor, great ingredients, rich and cheesy. The panna cotta was outta sight! Creamy, smooth, rich and the berry topping was perfect. Definitely a place to enjoy!

My friend and I ate here without making a reservation. We were seated promptly. The restaurant was not super busy, but is not far from a tourististy spot in Paris (Le tour Eiffel). Clean and pretty inside. They have menus in both FR and EN. The server didn't really speak English well, but that's okay because I ordered for us in French. But, he could get by. We first had the Mix de Brushetta (Brushetta Mix). She had Prosecco. Perrier 33mL for me. The Brushetta was good, but we weren't expecting the cured raw salmon as a "topping." However, it was tasty. The toppi gs are described in either menu, so you should ask as they might change. We ordered separate meals, but tasted each other's. My meal came out incorrectly so I had to wait. She had pizza, which was just okay. She removed a few pepperonis for me to taste a bite while I waited. First they brought out this huge bowl of twisty pasta with ham (Coquillettes du Jambon, Comté à la Truffe), which looked good, but I don't eat meat. I didn't have a chance to take a photo b/c I didn't let the server leave it. When I correct meal came, I had the Ravioli Ricotta E Spinaci (Rav w/ Ricotta & Spinach), which was DELICIOUS! My friend was so jealous. It came out hot and looked like a smaller bowl, but we were both surprised by the amount. It kept giving, and she kept dipping her pizza in my sauce. It really was quite good. The British guy next to us chatted with us and let me try his Tiramisu, which was great. Clean and crisp, with the taste of espresso but not overpowering and not overly sweet. And her Panna Cotta was good also, smooth, chilled, not too sweet. But my Crème Brûlée was very good. The sugar was thin and not burnt, also smooth. And I tasted all the vanilla, with the visible beans. I highly recommend the Ravioli.

Did I really travel all the way to Paris to eat at a Subway? No! Many years ago, I ate there on occasion but I have always found their rolls somewhat unfilling. This time, I had eaten a big breakfast at an excellent hotel and only wanted something to drink on a very hot day while I waited for my train. The two drinks shown set me back a whopping €6.40 which is £5.55 in real money. My only consolation is that they would probably have cost me more in the station.

The food is all right but the staff are not up to the Subway standards. They hardly acknowledge customers and do so with a a rude voice. I felt shamed for asking half of my sandwich to go. This was not a good experience. The sandwich was good though.

I travel the world for my work. I enjoy all types of cuisine, and always appreciate where I am. But there are few places I ever think “I’d love to be back in ___________ to eat some of that __________”. Mainly because international cuisine is so ubiquitous, you can often get whatever _________ you were introduced to on your trip, everywhere and anywhere else. What makes a place special is the preparation and presentation. Express de Lyon, despite the rather misleading name (in the US “express” typically means counter-service pre-prepared food - this is NOT the case), delivered the absolute best beef cut dinner I had during my week in Paris. It was seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection. The blue cheese sauce was perfect without being overpowering, and the frites (French fries for my fellow Americans) were homemade and perfectly crispy and delicious. The beer selection is wonderful, the prices are half of what the flashier neighbors charge, and they’re privately and locally owned and run by great people. This is one dish I will long for in the future. Good thing I have to come back in June.

Leary of a place so close to the train station, I took the advice of a local guy and had a simple dinner of burger and fries with a beer. It was totally satisfying and tasty. And an absolutely outstanding selection of beer on tap. I highly recommend the Express de Lyon. The waiter spoke English, was personable and helpful. Very reasonable price.

Staying overnight nearby ready to catch an early train out in the morning I needed a meal and a drink. Having passed several possible restaurants I wandered into this one and was very pleased that I did. It's unpretentious, serves good food and beer, and is very reasonably priced for central Paris. The service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere comfortable. I got talking to my neighbour, also on her own, she told me she commutes via Gare de Lyon and this is where she always comes if she misses her train or can't be bothered to cook. That's a real endorsement!

What a great spot. The charcuterie board was excellent, the beer was cold, and flank steak was delicious! This is probably one of the best hidden spots arpund this train station! We loved it!

Lovely little place next to Gare de Lyon. It is budget friendly and the food tastes good and looks homemade. Nothing fancy, but delicious 😋😋😋 Both pasta dishes were great, and they carry a good selection of herbal tea. Perfect place to sit outside, relax, wait for a train, people-watch and feel as a Parisian for a moment.

We wanted to have lunch at the Le train Bleu in the Gare de Lyon before our train left, but the prices were too high to rush a 1 hour lunch there, so we went across the street to the Station Cafe. We had 2 different things that were on the menu. One was a Veal Ragu, the other a Veal Milanese. It was solid, good food and of exceptional value. Even with 2 cocktails and 2 glasses of white wine it only cost 55 EUR Norm Siegenthaler

After losing the rugby and wandering back to our hotel we stopped for a nightcap. The place itself is nothing special but the atmosphere and locals, this is a bar used by local rail staff, are the most friendly and forthcoming. Ok we were the only English in there and France had won but it wasn't all about the rugby. The owner treated us to a drink and so did a couple of locals. For just one drink before bed we spent over two hours such was the company.

Before me and my friends traveled further to Barcelona, we had a lunch break here. Staff is very friendly, and prices are not too high. There are enough places to sit, but the only thing is: there’s no toilet, so you need to go to the station for a toilet. But anyway: this is a great spot to eat and drink something and then continue your journey. Very nice location right in front of the station!

If you love a burger this is the place. Visited twice on a recent trip and excellent on both occasions. Roquefort and Maxi Maximilien equally good. Nice relaxed casual atmosphere and reasonably priced

This is a fantastic place to have Couscous Kabyle, served in perfect style between Thursday and Sunday. I liked it so much that I returned for an equally decent Salade Auvergnate at lunch the next day. Desserts are recommended as well - the Café Gourmand is actually quite copious, and the Dame Blanche came with the biggest hat of whipped cream I've ever encountered. Definitely recommended when stopping over at Gare de Lyon or staying nearby.
