We had a wonderful experience here. We thought the food was excellent and the service prompt, efficient, and friendly. Some reviewers seem to forget that we are in a busy train station where some people have to eat quickly, while others can linger. We were lingerers, and we made sure our servers knew that from the beginning. With that mind, we had a wonderful meal that was presented beautifully and never felt either rushed or that the food was lacking in any way. Make sure the staff is aware of your expectations and you’ll have a magnificent meal. Try to arrive early for lunch so it feels a little less crowded.

Le Train Bleu is, without question, one of the most breathtaking and historic dining rooms in Paris. The space itself is absolutely magnificent. The architecture, the painted ceilings, the chandeliers, the grandeur. It truly feels like stepping into another era. The atmosphere alone makes the visit worthwhile. However, while the setting is extraordinary, I believe the cuisine does not quite live up to the level that such a remarkable place deserves. The food was good, but not memorable, and certainly not at the standard one would expect in a restaurant of this historic stature. In a venue of this beauty and legacy, the culinary experience should feel equally elevated. With some evolution and refinement in the kitchen, it could truly match the magic of the space. Still, it remains an iconic Parisian location that is worth experiencing for its atmosphere alone.

The setting is undeniably beautiful and distinctive, just as many other reviewers have noted. Our servers were warm, knowledgeable, and attentive throughout the evening. We were also pleasantly surprised by the wine list, which featured excellent Pommerol and Margaux selections not often found on Parisian menus. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the ambiance. The dishes were average at best and felt out of step with the restaurant’s elegant décor. My bœuf was chewy, and the potato galette was soggy. The pigeon mousse and foie gras lacked flavor and were served far too cold. The floating island, however, was delightful. Overall, the quality of the food did not justify the steep prices. It’s a stunning restaurant if you’re looking to impress a date or business guests, but it’s not the right choice for those who truly value well-executed cuisine.

We went for Christmas dinner and it was delightful. Christophe made sure our wine never ran out and was super attentive. We felt all the food was worth every penny spent. They also have a good wine list. I’d recommend starting with the caviar and a glass of champagne. The sea bass we had was something we will be talking about for years to come - absolutely delicious.

Hearty medieval portions (or dare I say American portions), consistent and traditional table side service dressed to the nines, and gilded expansive setting. What more can you ask for? Will definitely return. My children especially loved this restaurant.

This restaurant is such a lovely place for dinner. The owner also be the waitress is so friendly and helpful, even though with tourists. The menu is simple but every dish has its own signature with an unbelievable cheap price. Really really highly recommend. P.s: the capacity is quite small so dont come so late after the opening time.

What an amazing French restaurant! Husband cooks and the wife waits the tables with some help. The service is something out of a diary book because it’s so personal and friendly. The food is all freshly prepared and the menu changes. I’ve spent many weeks in Paris over the past few summers and this is where I go to have my best food. Glad to visit today as they’re taking a family holiday tomorrow for a week. Yum yum yum.

Small restaurant with French home made food and attentive service. We have been a group of 5 people, the waitress treated us very friendly and showed a lot of patience. The food was absolutely delicious. They offer combination of starters, main courses and a desserts. Thank you, we had a wonderful evening.

We called here for lunch before leaving from the Gare de Lyon. The service was hugely friendly and quick, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere is classic French bistro. We had Blanquette de Saumon and Magret de Carnard with a Côte du Rhône from a well chosen wine list. In short an ideal spot for a good value and delicious meal before catching the train.

I had a good experience at Brasserie L’Européen. The restaurant has a stylish, classic Parisian feel — bright, lively, and with a great atmosphere. The complimentary bread at the start was unfortunately a bit hard and didn’t feel fresh, which was surprising for a French restaurant — you’d expect the bread to shine here! That said, everything else made up for it. I ordered the rump steak, cooked rare and served with onions and a flavorful onion sauce. It was delicious — tender, nicely seasoned, and paired perfectly with crispy French fries. The dish was around €28. I also had a pint of Grimbergen Blonde for about €10, which was excellent and complemented the meal nicely. The service was friendly and efficient, and overall, the atmosphere was very pleasant. The restaurant is elegant yet relaxed. The only odd detail was that some of the chairs in our section had wheels — a quirky touch in such a classic setting! Overall, a great spot for a good meal in Paris, especially if you’re looking for a traditional brasserie with charm and energy.

This is a great spot to go to if you want authentic french food. The restaurant is huge in size and it feels like a maze, but I'm a good way. The waiters are welcoming and nice which is an exception for Parisians. I has the beef steak and it was cooked to perfection. Also started the meal with the raviolis, which I definitely recommend. Did not have dessert but they all looked delicious. An overall recommended experience. It is not very fancy, but do try to come decently dressed by the way.

Great spot for breakfast in the area, right across the street from Gare de Lyon. We went three days in a row because it was such a great deal: €11 for the “Le Complet” breakfast, and it was also delicious. The bread and the eggs were amazing, and the service was good and quick. Highly recommended.

Came to this place early on a Sunday morning, staff attentive and decent. They know English, can pay with credit card. Food got served in a reasonable time, but had my bread and butter to keep me happy. Its at the corner of the street easy to notice. Indoor and outdoor seating available. The breakfast portion of my omlette with cheese was quiet enough.

We stayed at the Gare de Lyon Marriott and this restaurant was a block away. The food - mostly steak Au poivre, duck confit, huge oysters, and profiteroles were out of this world delicious. We loved it so much because the atmosphere was lively, service was amazing, that we went at least 5 times for dinner. Loved the friendly engaging waiters who seemed truly happy to converse in English with a French twist. They even opened late until 1-2 am and were the only ones opened when we got back from the Eiffel Tower one night.

We stayed at the hotel close by and we were looking for good food and found this place and had been eating here every night of our visit in Paris. We had calzone and Scaloppina allamilanese. They both are so good.... We keep having same thing every night. Don't want to take a chance at other place. Tiramisu was a good choice for dessert too!

My friend and I ate here without making a reservation. We were seated promptly. The restaurant was not super busy, but is not far from a tourististy spot in Paris (Le tour Eiffel). Clean and pretty inside. They have menus in both FR and EN. The server didn't really speak English well, but that's okay because I ordered for us in French. But, he could get by. We first had the Mix de Brushetta (Brushetta Mix). She had Prosecco. Perrier 33mL for me. The Brushetta was good, but we weren't expecting the cured raw salmon as a "topping." However, it was tasty. The toppi gs are described in either menu, so you should ask as they might change. We ordered separate meals, but tasted each other's. My meal came out incorrectly so I had to wait. She had pizza, which was just okay. She removed a few pepperonis for me to taste a bite while I waited. First they brought out this huge bowl of twisty pasta with ham (Coquillettes du Jambon, Comté à la Truffe), which looked good, but I don't eat meat. I didn't have a chance to take a photo b/c I didn't let the server leave it. When I correct meal came, I had the Ravioli Ricotta E Spinaci (Rav w/ Ricotta & Spinach), which was DELICIOUS! My friend was so jealous. It came out hot and looked like a smaller bowl, but we were both surprised by the amount. It kept giving, and she kept dipping her pizza in my sauce. It really was quite good. The British guy next to us chatted with us and let me try his Tiramisu, which was great. Clean and crisp, with the taste of espresso but not overpowering and not overly sweet. And her Panna Cotta was good also, smooth, chilled, not too sweet. But my Crème Brûlée was very good. The sugar was thin and not burnt, also smooth. And I tasted all the vanilla, with the visible beans. I highly recommend the Ravioli.

Love their pizzas and the relaxing vibe here. The aubergine one was my favourite and surprisingly super yummy. Came back another day for the spicy chorizo one which was also very good. Don’t eat cheese but forgot to ask not to have cheese when ordering at 2nd visit but the gentleman who served the pizza to me was very kind and immediately returned the pizza to kitchen without question when I told him that and brought me a new one without cheese 15minutes later. Will definitely come back next time in Paris. Highly recommended for everyone who wants a slice of good pizza 🍕 (espresso is very good too)

Amazing place to get a quick bite after a long day of travel as this is right next to the train station. Plating and presentation is a big deal here. You get the fancy feel at a very reasonable price. If you are staying at the hotel above the restaurant you also get a 20% discount. You do have to pay for water. The Spaghetti was a little bland. However the ravioli was amazing. There are only a few vegetarian options.

The food is all right but the staff are not up to the Subway standards. They hardly acknowledge customers and do so with a a rude voice. I felt shamed for asking half of my sandwich to go. This was not a good experience. The sandwich was good though.

We had a fantastic experience at this Subway near Gare de Lyon in Paris! The food was fresh and delicious, just as expected, but what truly stood out was the exceptional service. A kind and helpful Indian girl went above and beyond to assist us not only did she serve us with a warm smile, but she also helped us book a cab, making our experience even smoother. Her hospitality and willingness to help made a big difference. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the amazing service!

I travel the world for my work. I enjoy all types of cuisine, and always appreciate where I am. But there are few places I ever think “I’d love to be back in ___________ to eat some of that __________”. Mainly because international cuisine is so ubiquitous, you can often get whatever _________ you were introduced to on your trip, everywhere and anywhere else. What makes a place special is the preparation and presentation. Express de Lyon, despite the rather misleading name (in the US “express” typically means counter-service pre-prepared food - this is NOT the case), delivered the absolute best beef cut dinner I had during my week in Paris. It was seasoned and cooked to absolute perfection. The blue cheese sauce was perfect without being overpowering, and the frites (French fries for my fellow Americans) were homemade and perfectly crispy and delicious. The beer selection is wonderful, the prices are half of what the flashier neighbors charge, and they’re privately and locally owned and run by great people. This is one dish I will long for in the future. Good thing I have to come back in June.

This is the best beer bar I've found in Paris! I've seeked them out and have visited several of the top rated establishments, and the selection here really cut through. The funny thing is it was just next to my hotel and I at first overlooked it as being a train station area pass. But once it lured me in, I realized it was the real deal. A great selection of 15 taps, mostly Belgian and craft. Small but notable bottle selection. Highly recommend, particularly for lovers of Belgian beer! Food looked and smelled good, but I did not get a chance to indulge.

Leary of a place so close to the train station, I took the advice of a local guy and had a simple dinner of burger and fries with a beer. It was totally satisfying and tasty. And an absolutely outstanding selection of beer on tap. I highly recommend the Express de Lyon. The waiter spoke English, was personable and helpful. Very reasonable price.

Lovely little place next to Gare de Lyon. It is budget friendly and the food tastes good and looks homemade. Nothing fancy, but delicious 😋😋😋 Both pasta dishes were great, and they carry a good selection of herbal tea. Perfect place to sit outside, relax, wait for a train, people-watch and feel as a Parisian for a moment.

After losing the rugby and wandering back to our hotel we stopped for a nightcap. The place itself is nothing special but the atmosphere and locals, this is a bar used by local rail staff, are the most friendly and forthcoming. Ok we were the only English in there and France had won but it wasn't all about the rugby. The owner treated us to a drink and so did a couple of locals. For just one drink before bed we spent over two hours such was the company.

This is a fantastic place to have Couscous Kabyle, served in perfect style between Thursday and Sunday. I liked it so much that I returned for an equally decent Salade Auvergnate at lunch the next day. Desserts are recommended as well - the Café Gourmand is actually quite copious, and the Dame Blanche came with the biggest hat of whipped cream I've ever encountered. Definitely recommended when stopping over at Gare de Lyon or staying nearby.

My partner and I were staying at a local hotel and chose Le Maximilien because of its convenient location. The staff provided a warm welcome and we were very impressed by the food: it was clear that quality ingredients had been used and the taste and presentation were excellent. We were surprised at how reasonable the price was for the high standard of food. The restaurant has a quirky Parisian feel we liked. We’d happily visit again when in Paris.
