We were in Paris during the intense heat at half term and luckily the hotel had much needed aircon. The hotel had a great feel, staff were very helpful and friendly, the beds were really comfy, water refills were available as were sweet treats. The hotel is well situated for the metro. Having read reviews on the location, we felt safe getting to and from the hotel and found it was no different to any other street in Paris. All in all it was a great value stay and we definitely would stay again.

As 2 Aussie girls who were visiting Paris for the first time the staff ensured we were well looked after. We felt safe with the 24hr reception. The staff also made sure we knew our way around Paris and suggested many restaurants and activities to do while we were here which we appreciated a lot! Highly recommend staying at this location!

A budget hotel- rooms are very clean and has everything you need- kettle/ tea and coffee (no milk) hairdryer/ shower gel. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The reception area has complimentary coffee (no milk), water and sweets. The area where the hotel is located is a bit sketchy, watch out for pickpockets! Amazing bakery just around the corner that does the best croissants, sandwiches and coffee, definitely worth a visit!

The hotel workers were very nice and friendly and always ready to help us. They were really polite and the breakfast was fine just what you need to start the day! Location was well connected to everything around 15-20 minutes to tourist attractions it’s a quiet and safe neighborhood. I was really satisfied with our stay and the room was cleaned even everyday if that’s what you wanted! Really recommend Hotel Kabanel!

The hotel is situated near 2 main train stations Gare Du Nord and Gare de l'est, which is a prime locartion for travelling to other cities and countries. The moment we stepped in we were greeted with some sweets and tea, the room was comfortable, pretty quiet, and it also had an AC, which could be uselful in summer time. The breakfast was included, and it was great. The hotel servicemen also helped us to keep our luggage for free after the checkout, which was ideal as we were able to go to other points of interest.

Nice candy store in the train station. Lots of choices, including ice cream cones. A good place to pick up a gift box of custom chocolates. Expensive, though. Would be 5 stars if the price was a little better.

🌟 Overall Impression
The restaurant’s usual style: elegant plating, generous portions, and a contemporary-French interpretation of bistro classics. The dishes appear well-executed, with attention to textures and sauces, which is consistent with what the restaurant is known for.
⸻
🐙 Grilled Octopus with Butternut Purée
Visual Impression:
• The octopus looks beautifully caramelized with a slightly charred exterior — a good sign of proper searing.
• The butternut purée is smooth, vibrant, and generously portioned.
• Light scatter of herbs and spices gives a modern, refined feel.
Likely Taste and Execution:
• Searing should give a smoky edge while keeping the interior tender.
• The sweetness of butternut purée likely balances the brininess of the octopus nicely.
• The drizzle of sauce suggests richness, maybe citrus or beurre blanc to finish it.
This looks like one of their signature-style starters: comforting but elevated.
⸻
🍤 Fresh Tagliatelle with Shrimp
Visual Impression:
• Hearty portion, creamy sauce, and fresh herbs — visually inviting.
• Shrimp appear plump and well-cooked, with a bright color.
• The pasta looks hand-cut or at least fresh (slightly uneven edges), which is a good sign.
Likely Taste:
• Cream-based sauce seems rich, but fresh herbs like dill and chives help lighten it.
• This dish probably leans toward indulgent rather than subtle.
This is one of those plates that feels like a reliable crowd-pleaser.
⸻
🥩 Steak with Creamy Herb Sauce
Visual Impression:
• The steak is cooked on the rare side — beautifully pink inside, nicely seared outside.
• Served simply, letting the meat speak for itself.
• The sauce looks like a creamy herb or shallot-based jus — French classic.
Likely Taste:
• Rich, earthy, a bit peppery.
• Sauce adds depth without overwhelming the meat.
This reflects traditional French comfort executed with finesse.
⸻
🥩 Beef Tartare with Fries and Arugula
Visual Impression:
• The tartare looks hand-chopped, not ground, which is the proper way.
• Plenty of herbs incorporated, giving freshness.
• Simple plating: arugula salad, fries on the side.
Likely Taste:
• Bright, tangy, herbaceous.
• Crisp fries add welcome texture contrast.
A very French bistro staple, done authentically.
⸻
🍮 Trio of Crèmes Brûlées
Visual Impression:
• Small ramekins with evenly caramelised tops.
• A mix of flavors (likely vanilla, pistachio, or seasonal options).
This is one of their signature desserts — comforting, not flashy.
⸻
🍞 Pain Perdu + Sorbet + Poached Fruit + Mini Crème Brûlée
Visual Impression:
• The pain perdu looks thick, golden, caramelised — exactly how it should be.
• Raspberry sorbet gives acidity and contrast.
• Poached fruit adds softness and sweetness.
• Mini crème brûlée ties the whole plate together.
Likely Taste:
• Rich, buttery, decadent.
• Great balance of hot/cold and sweet/tart.
This is a dessert meant for sharing — an excellent finish.
⸻
🍫 Chocolate Fondant with Ice Cream
Visual Impression:
• Classic molten-center style.
• Appears dense and glossy, a sign of good chocolate quality.
• Ice cream adds needed contrast.
A simple but well-executed finale.
⸻
✅ Final Verdict
Based on the dishes you ordered:
• Plating: Elegant, balanced, and consistent.
• Portions: Quite generous for Paris — especially pasta and desserts.
• Technique: Solid. Seared octopus, rare steak, hand-chopped tartare — all show skill.
• Flavor profile (likely): Rich, comforting, with modern touches.
• Value: Looks like a meal that delivers both quality and indulgence.
enjoyed a warm, well-paced dinner with excellent desserts, got the full Les Enfants Perdus experience.

We stumbled upon Les Enfants Perdus by chance and were so glad we did. This charming spot near Canal Saint Martin felt like a hidden treasure. The duck was an absolute showstopper, the ceviche was delicious, and the fresh, warm basket of bread was a perfect start. Our waitress was sweet and welcoming, and the whole experience felt relaxed and special. The food is genuinely excellent—I highly recommend it!

Overall a great experience. We went for a business dinner and the atmosphere was perfect - cozy, warm, and ideal for a special evening.
Most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious. Excellent wine list, a very good selection of non-alcoholic drinks as well, and the service was truly top notch.
I would definitely recommend Les Enfants Perdus and would happily come back.

As a foodie and culinary enthusiast, les Enfants Perdus checked all the boxes for me. Brought my family to this place and blew everyone’s mind with this little precious gem. One cannot place this establishment in a box, you cannot reduce it to just “fine dining”, or “cosy bistro”, or “experimental cuisine”, it is everything all at once! I promise that if you try any item on their menu, you will experience a new flavour combination you never thought possible. L.E.P is a culinary experience and a wonderfully charming place.
Being on the pricier side of Parisian menues, this place is not for the regular mindless food cravings, nor for the ones looking to indulge in big meals - so reserve Les Enfants Perdus for special occasions.

Really expected better from this place, the food was ok, some items were better than others, the menu descriptions are missing details and each plate was a surprise. The kids menu was a good surprise but again we didnt know what we were getting.
The waiter seemed impatient and in a rush (even for Paris terms), didnt want to accept any replacements even if super simple, something other resto's wouldn't hesitate to do. Then he asked for a tip at the end...
Biggest low point is that a wedding was planned at the same time, they were stuffed into a corner and the "regular" tables got pushed into the other half of the resto, it was really loud, there was not much of an effort made to seperate and we ended up leaving early because it was just so annoying.
I may try this place again if in the area but likely will try a few others before coming back.

Went for the brunch formule. I had Benedict egg and my friend had avocado toast
Orange juice
Pancakes and guafre for dessert
Absolutely amazing 🥰
Kucheli Michelle Banu - 9 months ago
Lovely staff and beautiful atmosphere but the food is unfortunately underwhelming. Pancakes and French toast come in tiny portions (and not amazing) and the “avocado toast” is a marriage of avocado and other veggies with a few small pieces of toast and a lack of flavour.

The place is super nice and waiters are very kind. Food is also great although kind of expensive! 25€ for a small salad is quite a lot. Next time I’m in town I’ll try something more “consistent” because I was still hungry when I finished my salad.

First time in Paris and me and my best friend were craving sushi. We were very impressed with the quick delivery and the food tasted great! The white wine I ordered was very cold which was a huge plus. Delivery driver was nice as well. We only have a couple days left here but we already decided we want to order from this restaurant again.

Great service. However I'd advise not to go during peak time. The food was great except for Mine Frite which were a bit too thick and bulky (pa exactement mine frais kuman moris) but i believe to get the version i was hoping for, i should've ordered from the "Fait Maison" menu. But will definitely come back 🤚

The best Mauritian place among the 4 places I ate in paris.
We enjoyed all the food we had there.
Dhol puri, roti, samoussa and biryani.
The dhol puri and roti were soft and the curry was seasoned well.
The biryani was flavourful and chicken was tender (same flavour as I used to have in Mauritius).

I ordered dhollpuris, gato piments, samousas, and mine bouillie — everything was absolutely delicious! All the food served is halal and full of authentic flavor. The service was fast and the prices offered great value for money.
They have a wide variety of Mauritian dishes on the menu, ranging from dhollpuris, boulettes, bol renversé, fried noodles, mine bouillie, briani, and more.
5/5 — highly recommended for anyone craving real Mauritian cuisine!

We randomly pop in and glad to have a wide range of choices, we ordered fried noodles and rice as my parent was poorly so prefer hot food and the gentleman is so thoughtful to arrange her some warm drink. We are pleased to have this family feel Japanese bistro. We keep seeing lots of take away order and bet they are very popular around the area. Thanks!
