A cute place in st.louis my sister went to before and decided to return together. We all enjoyed the dinner very much, friendly services and great dishes. The whole place smelled like truffle (which I love but not for some other people). Had an artichoke salad and duck fillets. Really well cooked and seasoned. Highly recommend.

Just a very solid restaurant- the small, hard working staff was friendly and attentive and the food was well prepared. My duck breast with blueberry sauce was a warm pink perfection - not dry or chewy. The blueberry sauce was only slightly sweet with a tartness that really paired well with the duck. My wife's fish was also well prepared and tasty. The vegetables were a little over cooked but well seasoned. Prices seemed very appropriate.

We've been there on a Friday evening for dinner. The food was delicious. We ordered the food of the day option and a vegetable plate, both are recommendable. The service was fantastic, very fast and friendly.

We had been told about Chez Julian and booked for dinner. We were not disappointed. Everything was beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful, the decor sublime and atmosphere perfect. The food was well presented, such a special dinner. We shared the starter of avocado, crab & prawns, stunning. Mains - duck & tuna tartare, both very tasteful. Desserts were wonderful - rice pudding & strawberries - a great combo and sorbets, beautifully presented and sharp flavours. If you chose Chez Julian you will eat well.

I went here on a recommendation from family who used to live in Paris. We had breakfast and enjoyed it immensely. A simple omelette, coffee, and yogurt with granola. The atmosphere and decor is beautiful, and the service was fantastic - very friendly. (I don’t recommend getting “American bacon” anywhere in Paris… that is not place-specific.) Looking forward to going back soon!

We made a reservation and were sat down immediately. The staff was very nice. We started with the avocado with king crab meat and prawns which we loved. Then my husband and I split the chicken and it was absolutely delicious - plus our server showed us the fully cooked chicken before taking it away again to cut and plate it for us. We finished off with the creme brûlée which is definitely worth trying! Excellent experience.

We had the most wonderful time! The food was to die for and Luna was the most wonderful waitress. She had entertained our silly questions as well helped us with our French. She was super welcoming and kind the entire time. Other workers were also super helpful and were dealing with unrest patrons with ease. The atmosphere was stunning and chic. As a foreigner, I cannot recommend this place enough. A hidden gem with kind people and amazing food.

My girlfriend and I came back to Don Giovanni after being in Paris 4 years ago, with a vivid memory of this authentic Italian trattoria. Although we already knew this place was good, our second visit surpassed our expectations. Amazing Italian cuisine, great wine and above all extraordinary service. Our waitress was lovely. The pasta dishes were all delicious, making me want to come back and try more varieties! The veal was slightly greasy. The tiramisu was very tasty; it would have been even better with more ladyfingers!

Absolutely fabulous❤️🤌🏻 This place has my heart! I haven’t tried the mains on the menu yet! I always go for pastas and they are irresistibly gorgeous! So delicious and Al dente just the way it should be! Nice, cute, tiny and cozy place. You must really be stupid if you have leftovers in your plate by the end of your meal😌 Staff is super friendly! Service 10/10 Ambience 10/10 (I personally love it) Food 11/10 Oh, and make sure you don’t leave the restaurant without having any desserts (even if you have diabetes or not😉) Panna Cotta is your love at first sight and it should be illegal to leave without having tiramisu! They are pretty generous with their portions. After all, its an Italian restaurant💁🏼‍♂️ Can’t wait for my next pasta day🥰🥰 This is my favourite Italian restaurant in Paris!

Honestly incredible experience, service and food last night. The singing was outstanding!!!! We went with our 3 year old daughter too and they were very accommodating and went over and beyond to make us feel comfortable which I have heard is unusual in Paris at dinner service with kids. I had a very special birthday here would 100% recommend.

Food is fresh and delicious. Our waitress Donna had given us good recommendations of dessert, they were excellent ! The singers sang some extraits of opera among us. The best moment was at around 10pm when they invited everybody to sing together. A nice souvenir for our birthdays.

This place was one of the highlights of my trip to Paris. The decor is theatre-like with heavy curtains, and the nice red lamps on the table. The welcoming staff is nice and smiling. We went on a Wednesday and had the full lyrical menu for half the price. We loved being “serenaded” with arias of different, well-known opera plays. They took especially good care of an old gentleman who had his birthday that night. The food was truly good, full of flavour. I would definitely recommend this place!!!

Super nice small adress in le marais. A bit off the main roads which means more locals then tourists. Food was fresh and tasty. Their signature fish was outstanding. Good value for money ! Nice terrasse at the front of the place.

*update photos 2025 My favorite Japanese restaurant in Paris! They only bring red quality salmon and their prices are medium (almost the same with a normal sushi place in the city). Almost everything in the menu is excellent, but I highly recommend the Shake and Shake Nagi. I also love the edamame, and in this place they really taste like the original Japanese ones. As a soft drink I recommend the green tea without sugar or if it’s in the winter the hot green tea (excellent!). For desert you need to the mochi (the one with green tea!)! Photos with all these attached. Location is excellent, just next to Hôtel de Ville and close to Notre Dame, which makes it a very good place to stop for lunch or dinner, in between tourist activities. Since the size of the restaurant is quite small (around 36-40 places) their interior design is simple and clean with many Japanese like ornaments. I also attached photos of the menu (23.06.2019). Overall, I highly recommend this place.

What a recommendation from Rick Steves! Food was amazing (beef wellington, half lobster, and chicken supreme) were all delightful. Also started with a Salad that was enough to split for 2-3. Service was exceptional and attentive to every detail.

The restaurant is in a tourist area so whilst it's nicely French, expect quite a few tourists. But then again that's what we were! Very nice Saturday night meal, one x sea bass and one sausage & aligot sharing a citrus cheesecake. Bottle of very good Bordeaux & coffee - €93 which I think is good for a few hundred yards from Notre Dame . Buzzy atmosphere & decent service, all good !

Location is magical: Ile Ste Louis is a time warp and under visited in Paris (this from someone who lived in Paris). This restaurant is good: good food, good and warm service from Madame and her team, and seriously welcoming. You must have the purée enhanced with aligot cheese! And when I was not sure which wine to have with the earthy food, Madame said “je m’en occupe” and came with 2 glasses of red gorgeous wine that completely enhanced the sausage. In a cozy Parisian neighbourhood within easy walking distance of Notre Dame, I will be back!!

We had dinner here on our third evening in Paris. We were seated on the enclosed patio which was great to enjoy the evening's activity. Michael stated with gravlax salmon and dill, for the entrees I had the Louis Phillip burger made with French Aubrac Beef which is on par with Kobe & Wagyu Beef and fries, Michael had the Duck Magret de canard with a lovely bottle of red wine.

We have been to many restaurants here in Paris and this one really surpasses all. Service was great, food was well cooked, the portion was decent. Had the onion soup, lamb shank and pork chops and we really loved it. Special shout out to the service crew that help us out with our cranky baby. Abiento!

What a wonderful restaurant in Paris. We were immediately seated and service was quick. Great suggestions by the waiter and extraordinary nice and patient. We took the dive to try Escargot for the first time, and they cooked it to perfection. The beef bourguignon was very good. The atmosphere... If I could give a 10, I would watching the hustle and bustle of Paris from the patio was perfection. Next time we go to Paris, this will be a stop !

I indulged in the vegan bowl, and it was a delightful experience. The fresh ingredients, including the well-cooked and moist falafels, harmonized seamlessly, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. The teriyaki sesame sauce added a delightful touch to the dish. As a vegan it is good to be able to go to have options around the city and would recommend the bowl.

Might be the best gelato I’ve ever had, and I spent two weeks in Italy one summer… I’m not sure what they put into it that makes it so good, maybe it’s just how beautiful they make it look when scooping it but it was absolutely divine. We actually visited two locations and staff were amazing at both. My aunt is also gluten free and was able to get a cone!! I’ll be thinking about this gelato every time I want something sweet!

A great ice cream shop with fresh, delicious flavours! The staff was very eager to hep us with flavours and created a beautiful flower-shape serving! Here, one does not order number of scoops but rather how big cup/cone they want. Then the staff fills it up with ice cream 😜 A great option for late-night (and not only) ice cream cravings!

This place is AMAZING! I got lemon and mango sorbet and it was delightful! (I even got a rose flavoured macaron on top of my sorbet and it was the best macaron I’ve ever had!) We got here early at 12 and were the first customers. The service was great and the staff is very kind. We had the $31 lunch option and got main course and desert. The food was good and the steak was well cooked to a medium (which in my country would be medium rare). The atmosphere was alright, the cow vibe isn’t for everyone and it didn’t help that we were the only ones there. The desert was alright, my crème brule had to much sugar and not all was melted. My partners apple desert was however amazing!

A hidden gem in the heart of Paris! L’Îlot Vache is a charming, cozy restaurant that perfectly captures the spirit of French hospitality. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and made to feel right at home. The ambiance is intimate and rustic, with just the right touch of elegance—ideal for a romantic dinner or a quiet evening with friends. The food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and rich with authentic French flavors. The duck confit was tender and flavorful, and the tarte Tatin was hands-down one of the best I’ve ever had. Their wine selection is thoughtful and pairs perfectly with the menu. Service was impeccable—attentive without being intrusive, and the staff were happy to offer recommendations in English when needed. If you’re looking for a true Parisian dining experience away from the tourist traps, L’Îlot Vache is not to be missed. I’ll definitely be returning on my next trip to Paris!

L'Îlot Vache is one our favorite Ile St Louis / Heart of Paris restaurants. It had been several years since our last visit to Paris, but the restaurant has maintained exceptional cuisine, excellent wine selection, and attentive service. Entrée of Fois Gras mi-cuit was the best we had eaten on this trip, and for many years; I also had the escargot - yummy good. Main of Duck á l'Orange for me was perfectly cooked and presented; for my partner, she had the Soupe á l'Ognion. Perfectly paired wines throughout. Thank you to the L'Îlot Vache team for making our last dinner in France for this trip a special one!

Enjoyed everything about our meal at this restaurant. Reservations are highly recommended! The host helping us could not find our reservation, and I was baffled until I pulled up the confirmation email only to discover that I had somehow mixed up the time and arrived at 8:00 pm instead of 7:30 pm. Our host was so kind, he went to check and through sheer luck, found an outdoor seat facing the sidewalk. We couldn’t have been more elated. We ordered the foie gras as an appetizer, and each got the beef bourguignon and crème brûlée for dessert. The beef bourguignon was rich and full of beef, potatoes, and carrots. It was a comforting and satisfying dish. The crème brûlée was the perfect way to end the night. Later in the evening, it started to rain. I don’t know what rain-detecting powers the staff had, but before we even felt a single drop, they alerted us and quickly helped move our table and chairs back. We didn’t feel a drop of rain the entire time. We were very pleased with the attentive staff and thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience.

We made a reservation which I think is a good plan if you intend to dine here. I had heard rave reviews of Au Bourguignon, namely for their signature beef bourguignon and decided to try it out. The staff were all lovely! Super helpful, friendly, and kind. In fact, a woman at the table next to us who was diabetic had a diabetic episode and basically fainted at the table and the staff was very quick to react. We started with the onion soup and eggs mimosa with white summer truffle. The eggs were absolutely divine. The soup was good but not up to my standards which are really high. I make exceptionally great French onion soup at home and thought this one was a bit bland in comparison. We split an order of the beef bourguignon, which I think was smart since we also had appetizers and it was a large serving. The beef was fantastic! It truly lived up to my expectations and I can see why this restaurant is so highly regarded in Paris as a spot to get great beef bourguignon. If that's on your wish list for Paris dining, then this is a great spot to sample this cozy dish. All in all, I would happily recommend Au Bourguignon du Marais!

I would probably say the area of improvement is to check on the customers, we waited 30 mins for the check bc no one even passed by us. We ordered three things, the snails, their famous beef bourguignon, and for dessert, the profiteroles with vanilla ice cream. The snails were soft, buttery, and kinda fun to eat. Not bad at all for my first time trying them. The beef bourguignon though… that was deep. Rich flavor, The meat was tender, almost melting into the sauce. I kinda wished for one more bite when it was over. Then came the dessert... the profiteroles. That one stole the night. Cold vanilla ice cream stuffed inside light pastry, sitting in a puddle of warm fudge. And the tiny almond bits on top? That little crunch made it perfect. Service was friendly without being pushy, and the place just felt cozy, very Paris-y in the best way. Would definitely go back just for that dessert.

I couldn't get a reservation the day before for dinner but walked in and got a table outside immediately (in winter). The service is impeccable, top class. Waiter spoke perfect precise English. We had the onion soup, beef bourguignon, beef tartare and pear poached in wine. All were superb quality. Their beef bourguignon is worthy of being the restaurants namesake. The house red wine was really excellent for a house pour and paired with the bourguignon perfectly. Onion soup and poached pear were destroyed before remembering to take pictures 😅
