Cosy little Bistro, beautiful selection of wine and simple, perfectly cooked and super French, no fuss, done perfectly!
The chef is really passionate about what she makes and she always makes it seasonal!

A charming local French bistro in Belleville. Very classic, cosy and non-pretentious. The waiter will hand you a hand written menu/blackboard, only in French, to order from. A perfect spot if you want a Parisian dinner experience like a local, away from tourists and hype.

We are tourists and were a little intimidated reading previous reviews about the service but it was more than adequate! The dishes are using quality ingredients, each well thought out and executed. We are 2 people and has 5 entrees, a main and a dessert (would have eaten more if we had the stomach space to spare). The owner gave great recommendations on wines and digestif to pair with our food. The bistro is cosy and a great place to spend a whole evening indulging. *menu is written in French and can be google translated- although I am sure the owner would have provided any help we needed

It has its reputation for a reason. Incredible French cuisine prepared flawlessly. The recommended wine was one of the best we have ever had.
For those who say the service is rude, it goes a long way to be polite and learn how to say 'I'm sorry, I don't speak French' in French, if you are a foreigner.

This place is worth the trek abit outside of the touristy zones - very delicious and homey bistro-food. The owner does seem a bit grumpy, but that doesn’t matter much when the food is this good at very reasonable prices. Especially the sweetbread, beef cheeks, and the vanilla/apple/ginger-dessert were very good! Make sure to call ahead to reserve - you can’t reserve until two days prior

A very nice spot where you'll be able to eat too much for a very fair price ! Even the salad will stuff you as they are very generous.Take a look at the desert, they are gorgeous. As for the main course you'll have plenty to choose.
It was delightful in every way :)
Thanks again

The food is authentic and delicious! It’s difficult to find a real japanese place who serves good sushi for 26€ at night. The assortment of desserts gives us a bit of each dessert and all of them taste so good, especially the black sesame ice cream. The flavour is so rich. Same for the matcha cake which is not too sweet but full of flavour.
The staffs are friendly and welcoming. We will definitely come back.

While the food was decent, the service was extremely slow. We waited almost an hour for our ramen and sushi, which was frustrating, especially for a meal that shouldn't take that long to prepare.
That being said, the waitress was very kind and attentive, which made the experience slightly better. However, the long wait time overshadowed the overall dining experience. If you're in a rush, this might not be the best choice. But if you have time to spare and value friendly service, it could still be worth a visit.

Kind service, but very limited and narrow seating. Lovely fresh fish, cut the way it should be. Don't come for the interiour design, only for the food, or take out! Higher budget than normal, but really fresh products.

One of the greatest in Paris, everything is fresh and served promptly. Menu is classic sushis and sides but the rare item is the grilled tofu in tje starters area. Don't miss it !

Traditional Japanese. Well above average food. The menu is not too big but covers many different japanese styles. If you're in this neighborhood and want good Japanese, it's the place to go.

Staff were super friendly, extremely low wait times for food, most importantly, food was SUPER delicious. Ordered beef tataki, beef tartare, and beef with mash. Their fruity IPA beer was also tasty. I don’t understand how the is place is not 5 stars because it’s so amazing. I love everything here, no complaints.

This was my favorite dining experience in Paris. No reservations, no research, just a neighborhood cafe that was perfect on a rainy afternoon. The duck and the cheese plate were fantastic and the champagne on happy hour was delicious!

Great steaks tar tar and wine
Stas Kalashnikov (sslaventiy) - 6 months ago
The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is the menu is a little odd and limited. I got a poached egg in truffle foam with bacon. It was a full bowl of truffle foam with a cold poached egg in it topped with bacon. A little strange. Delicious but overwhelming. The egg was perfectly poached but it really should have been warmed up. All that said, the staff was lovely and patient with my English. Certainly worth a stop for a snack and a 50cl of wine.

Lovely local Bistro that I visited on the day I arrived in Paris! a very cozy place with small space but the staff were friendly and the food was good. (also liked the red checkered table mats)the best menu was truffle soup, I didn’t expected such a strong truffle taste for this price!

Food was great and amazing service, the ladies who was the waiter speak english very fluent and even explain the menu board one by one which rarely seen in local french restaurant (very impress, owner should give her a raise!) . Food come very fast, serve hot and cook right. Will come again in couple days

After a long day of frustration with metro and bus strike, it was really good feeling to have a hassle free dinner. The waiter was friendly and welcoming. the food service was fast and most important it was delicious. It was like a home cooked meal with generous portions. It was the kind of place you instantly feel comfortable and could stay til closing time. Worth the visit!

I've been coming to this neighborhood bistro for 15 years now. It recently changed owners, and while most of the new "equipe" are friendly and efficient, the menu is different and some items are disappointing. Gone are the classic "profiteroles," which are hard to find in a lot of restaurants today. Recently they had a "plat du jour" that was called "poulet au curry"/chicken curry, a dish I usually like. I ordered it; unfortunately, it was chicken in a bland white cream sauce, no curry was distinguishable at all. The server did not ask what I thought of it. When I paid, I said it was not much of a "curry" chicken, and his response was indifferent: "il n'y a pas de soucis"/"No worries" or "no problem". Strange. To be fair, I ordered a burger a couple of weeks before and thought it was "correct". Same for a poulet fermier before. Generally, I find the staff courteous, too, so perhaps this person was having a bad day and, to maintain sanity, couldn't be bothered by another complaint. But I've worked in restaurants when I was younger. That's no way to keep customers and build a reputation. The Zephyr is a beautiful art deco vintage bistrot. I hope they find a way to recover their culinary quality and respect customers' reports of disappointing experiences, instead of dismissing them as "no problem."

Stopped by after 7 pm looking for dinner based on the reviews but surprised there was barely food on the menu. It’d confusing as past posts showed substantive dining options. We had a charcuterie board that was good, omelette and sandwich. The service was great and drinks were excellent. Expensive though for what we ordered

The mountain salad was good, the duck was better and the lasagna was excellent. A friendly staff and pleasant environment at good prices, what more could you ask for?

Really classic bistro fare, can’t go wrong. Good value. Pleasant spot with multiple dining areas and very friendly staff although at times slow. Took two menus and the fish and chips and pave de boeuf were good with the fries nice and crispy.

Right by our airbnb, we came for a late lunch after landing from Athens. Greeted by a friendly man who spoke some English. He showed us the daily menu and bless his heart tried to explain it in English. We tried to use as much Frnech as we knew and settled upon two daily specials with plum tarts for dessert. We left soooooo happy. The steak skewers where cooked perfectly. The sauce was incredible. And the frites were super cripsy and the jug of wine was super affordable....I only wanted more. Great first meal in Paris! We also came here for breakfast and got a cappucino and croissant for €5.

This dinner lived up to the hype for us! We did the smaller tasting menu and am always curious how the portion sizing is for this type of menu, but the portions were perfect. The staff was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. The food was flavorful, interesting, and incredibly memorable. We had the seasonal asparagus, cucumber/strawberry dishes, tortellini, mushroom dumplings, pork chop, and strawberry pavlova dessert. The dessert was amazing!!
The interior is beautiful and had great music playing. Only atmosphere cons were that it was almost too quiet and we were sat next in the corner next to the toilets and got wafts from the toilet area every now and then.
Overall, would highly recommend for a memorable meal in Paris.

The three of us opted for the tasting menu and it was delicious - unique!! You will definitely leave full because the portions are not small (I’m from nyc)! Everything was so good. Hard to pick a favorite - the mapo tofu twist dish and the big chunk of fish were top runners but the duck?! Omg. So good. Duck probably was my favorite. We weren’t able to finish the shrimp toast and fish dish even though they were so yummy bc we were so full!!
It’s already not easy to get a reservation but I suspect it’ll continue to be even more popular. While it’s got a tasting menu and the food quality is excellent, atmosphere is pretty laid back and casual. Servers very nice. Oh the only dish I was not a fan of was the cucumber/kiwi/melon one but only because it has cilantro and I can’t eat that-but my friends liked it, it was refreshing

Best culinary experience ever!
From the restaurant atmosphere, to the little details like the shop stick stand to the music playing in the background - the extremely cordial and friendly staff - and finally the food. Coming to the Cheval d’Or was an experience that took a while to happen but will never regret.
Favorite savory: the tortellini/ the salmon/ the croque madame - I mean everything we had.
Favorite sweet: the homemade madeleine served in a saint jacque shell (still have the taste of it in my mouth).
My biggest thank and support to the entirety of the restaurant’s team.
Will come back for sure next time I’ll be in Paris.

Beautiful presentation, friendly staff, and lovely decor. The price is great for a nine-course meal. The starters were absolutely amazing, and the duck was hands-down the best I’ve ever had. The rice was perfectly sticky, and the pickles were adorable and paired beautifully with the duck. However, the pancake didn’t quite work—I would have preferred the usual style over the egg-based one. The rice itself was excellent, but having both rice and pancakes felt like too much. Sometimes, less is more.
Dessert was incredible, but three massive portions were a bit overwhelming. A smaller serving or just one dessert would have made it perfect. Don’t get me wrong, all three were delicious, but a bit of restraint would have elevated the experience.
On a positive note, the music selection was great, and the volume was just right—not too loud, creating a nice ambiance. Overall, the food was tasty, but a few small tweaks would have made it truly exceptional.

One of the best meals in Paris! Had the 9 course prie fix menu, but they were generous with portions and felt more like a 12 course. I thought the fusion of East Asian and french food was creative and delicious.

The food is ok for the price, it looks good in the photos, but in terms of taste it is not wow, I would say a little dry or too sour. The staff is fine, but they throw the menus at you. I guess it is a good deal but I am not sure if I would come back, also the neighbourhood is a little sketchy. (we had the shared plate and chicket chawarma)

The food was exceptional—flavorful mezze, perfectly seasoned crunchy falafel, and mouthwatering hummus. But what truly stood out was the impeccable service. Zale, one of your staff members, made us feel like VIPs. His friendly demeanor and attention to detail were commendable.
And let’s not forget the creative cocktails. I suggested Bayrouth icetea and Lebanon mule …Thank you for creating such a memorable experience. L’Artisan Lebanese is now at the top of my recommendation list

It gave me one more reason to love Paris and gave me an unforgettable experience. Lebanese food was a first for me. And I realized Lebanese food is truly amazing. It was so delicious such an amazing!!! Make me sad because after I don’t know I could find this same restaurant in Korea. It was refreshing, not greasy, hearty, and so delicious that word will never describe how much it is good. And the restaurant workers and owner are so nice, sweet, gentle and full of youthful energy. The price is reasonable and I think I will be looking for Lebanese food anywhere where I am in the future.

Excellent Neapolitan pizza! I've been coming here for years and it's still my favorite in Paris.
They have such a good and wide selection of toppings for both white and tomato-based pizzas that it's difficult to choose. The wine is fine and the bottles affordable.

We had a really great meal here. The food was excellent, really first class and as close to pizza from Italy as I have found outside. It's a real locals joint and the service matches, made to feel totally welcome.
Can I just say now that having lived with an Italian who makes pretty much the best Tiramisu, Il Posto's is right up there.
Wonderful evening
