This was truly one of my favourite culinary experiences in Paris, and I’ve been here many times. The owner is so friendly, it’s a neighbourhood place, he says hello to everyone on the street. The food is made with so much care, authentic and absolutely delicious. The portions are very good. The space feels so cosy and casual. I highly recommend that you visit this restaurant.

Couscous(lamb)
I come in very late (10pm), tired and cold. The owner welcomes me cheerfully and really soothes my mind! I love the Chocolat. The couscous’s lamb is quite big so I cannot finish eating it. The owner is so caring, asking me if it fits my taste. (No worries at all if you see this comment! I loooove it) It’s my first night in Paris and I feel so welcomed and warm

Such a lovely spot! Everything was spot on — great food, great service, and such a cosy atmosphere.
The scallops were amazing (my absolute favourite), and the duck breast was full of flavour with a rich, delicious sauce.
After a full, happy and (exhausting 😄)day at Disneyland, I randomly walked past this place and decided to stop in. Best decision ever. The owner was so kind and welcoming, and the whole dinner felt like the perfect ending to the day.
(And yes, with my adorable little mice 🐭❤️)

L’Esprit de Famille feels less like a restaurant and more like being invited into someone’s home for dinner. Not in a staged way. In the honest, slightly imperfect way that signals care rather than performance.
The room sets the tone. Red-and-white tablecloths, a compact bar, warm light, no effort to impress beyond comfort. It is relaxed and casual, the kind of place where conversation settles in without friction.
The food follows the same philosophy. We ordered a couple of specials, and both landed. Nothing tried to surprise. Everything aimed to satisfy. Flavors leaned familiar, rooted, and complete. The kind of cooking that values balance and warmth over invention. You do not analyze each bite. You finish the plate.
What defines the experience is the host. The owner welcomed us, guided us through the menu, and stayed present without hovering. Kind, friendly, helpful. He set the rhythm of the meal. That presence matters more here than technique or plating.
This is not a destination for spectacle. It is a place you return to when you want to feel taken care of. Paris has many restaurants that chase attention. L’Esprit de Famille earns trust instead.

This was by far the most enjoyable meal we had in Paris. Coming from the US, we wanted to have an authentic French dinner at a table outside. And they exceeded all expectations. The food was fantastic and the owner made us feel so very welcome. We are already planning to come back for a morning coffee. Do not miss this lovely dining experience in Paris. ❤️🇫🇷

Excellent dining option a few blocks from Gar de Lyon. They serve some classic French dishes like streak and potatoes, which we got. And also some of their house specialties like the chicken with crayfish in butter sauce -- amazing dish!
My favorite, however, was the snout salad. It was surprisingly refreshing during a hot summer day. Service was at pat with most restaurants in Paris. Will return to try other specialities next time. Recommended! Note that there are limited seafood options.

Classical french food, excellent service and an institution in the area.
No credit cards accepted as the banks refused to fund Boboss when he bought the restaurant (last century...), so he doesn't fund the banks since then. Prepare cash, totally worth it !

Warm, authentic, and full of character. Le Quincy feels like a true Parisian bistro. The food is rich, traditional, and very satisfying, and the atmosphere makes the whole experience even better. A great spot if you want classic French cuisine in a cozy setting.

A traditional French restaurant which offers classification dishes, it’s small but very cosy. It seems like people dining there are the regular one and they know each other. A gentleman on the next table chatted with us. It was from him that we knew the owner (who is still working in the restaurant) is over 80 years ago. The owner and the staff are all extremely friendly even they don’t really speak English. There is no English menu available but you can always find a way to order and communicate with them. You get a small class of bubble as a welcome drink once seated. I think this place deserves more rating.

Delicious food and warm, friendly service. Traditional French cuisine focused on fish and seafood. We had bouillabaisse and sea bass filet. Definitely would eat there again. Very good value. It’s a one person operation amazingly.

If you want a french restaurant near Lyon station, don't hesitate reservation here strongly recommend. Manager was so nice explaining about served dishes and warm greeting. But not crowded yet. Bill was quickly checked included discount. I felt like a michelins or hotels restaurants. Thanks to service, my first meet in French was memorable.

Simply adorable place. Atmosphere, interior, dishes are very nice. We were looking for bouillabaisse nearby Bastilia and we found it here. It was very delicious, as well as tarte tatin and souffle. Service was extremely polite and friendly. We will come back during next Paris visit!

Best dinner we had in Paris! The owner is the one who served us - he was very kind and helpful. The meals were very tasty, the service was fast and prices are very affordable! The menu is not so varied but you can find appetizers, meat, desserts. We will surely come back here next time in Paris!

Cute spot close to our Airbnb so we visited for a drink our first arrival. The owners were incredibly welcoming and kind and wanted to chat even though our french was novice level. We went back for nightcaps during our stay and was welcomed each time. Our cocktails were delicious and prices fair.

Best dining experience on our trip to Paris! The woman who served us (maybe the owner?) was so hospitable and friendly. She really made us feel at home and cared for. The fried calamari was excellent! And what a beautiful outdoor seating area. I’ll be back every time I visit Paris!

Such a fun, lovely surprise to find this little bistro! Steaks were delicious and perfectly cooked! Wine and coffee were fabulous and dessert was divine! And best of all was the feeling from the owners that they cared that we were well fed and happy!

BAANBECK Overall Rating 4.8 out of 5

Reviews
I recently visited Baanbeck and was immediately impressed by the ambiance. The interior feels sophisticated—akin to a fine dining establishment—yet the menu prices remain quite reasonable for this level of quality in Paris.
We ordered a generous spread to share, including the Peek Kai Tod (fried chicken wings), Fresh Rolls, and Laab Kai Tod. The food generally leans towards a modern interpretation of Thai cuisine rather than strictly traditional rustic styles. To accompany the meal, we chose a bottle of Vouvray (Chenin Blanc), which was an excellent choice; its crisp acidity and floral notes paired beautifully with the spices of the Som Tam and Pad Thai.
However, I do have one constructive note regarding the Tom Yum Kung. While Thai cuisine naturally balances sweet and sour, I found the broth here to be overly sweet, overpowering the other herbal nuances. If you prefer a more savory or acidic soup, keep this in mind.
Despite that, it was a very enjoyable evening. The balance of a chic atmosphere, tasty dishes, and good value makes this a spot I would happily visit again when in the neighborhood.

A very chill but viral Thai restaurant giving a view on the Seine! The lady who served us is extremely nice and friendly, which made my birthday a very pleasant one 😊the dishes are refreshing and flavorful, with authentic ingredients that I haven’t been tasting for quite a while. Very vegetarian friendly as well.
Highly recommend the corn beignets and the green mango
salad 🦚many thanks again!

We were looking for a Thai restaurant in the vicinity when we came across freshly decorated Baabbeck. Although they don’t have an extensive menu, but the food we tried was excellent. The Pad Thai was not only visually pleasing but also one of the best I have ever eaten. The green curry was very original and well balanced. The papaya salad was simply delicious. Certainly a Thai restaurant that doesn’t disappoint.
Fardad - a year ago
Amazing Thai food is a really cool and unique atmosphere. I had the green mango salad and pork dish. Thought the flavors were excellent for salad and loved that it was actually spicy which can sometimes be harder to find in Europe in my experience. The mango itself could have been a little more firmer and crunchy but I still highly recommend the dish. The addition of tomatoes and dragon fruit was delicious and so fresh. Thought the pork and rice were also good but different than what I was expecting. The pork was like ground beef texture. Portion sizes were large and prices were reasonable. Presentation was also good. I really liked the overall vibe of the restaurant. The decor includes lots of plants and there are also some interesting surprises and talking pieces. With the modern zen vibe I think this would be a good date night restaurant. Looking forward to going back and trying more dishes.
Ben Arnold - a year ago
Very nice place with modern deco. The food was great! The Pad Thai was top notch. And the presentation was very innovative.
When we arrived at 7pm, we had the entire place all to ourselves, which made it a bit "boring." The bland pop music did not help the atmosphere - and did not fit the cuisine at all. Other guests arrived only towards 8pm.
The waiter was pleasant, but service could be improved - our appetizers arrived, but we had no cutlery and had to ask for it. Empty glasses of wine were not taken out of the table. And the toilets need better looking after.

We tried this new neighborhood restaurant that replaced Ma Bicoque, and it was a really pleasant surprise! 👌
The welcome is warm, the service attentive, and you can feel their genuine desire to do things well. For those who knew it, Saïd is still there.
The dishes are varied, flavorful, beautifully presented, and prepared with quality ingredients.
The prices are quite reasonable for the quality offered.
The atmosphere is friendly, ideal for a weekday lunch or dinner, or a nice get-together with friends.
I wish them a successful opening and much success – we'll gladly be back! 🍽️✨

Delicious food, beautifully presented and generous portions, very welcoming, friendly, and smiling staff in a quiet restaurant opposite the Paris marina. Main course, dessert, and coffee for under €20.
I will definitely be back for lunch and I highly recommend this restaurant.
Thank you to the entire team at L'Arsenal restaurant.

Unfortunately, I can't vouch for the quality of what I ate; it was an Arsenal burger, and it's nowhere near what a real burger should be for the price. The service, however, was lovely and attentive.

Amazing authentic Italian pizza in Bastille! 🇮🇹🍕
One of the best pizzas I’ve had in Paris, especially around the Bastille area. The flavors are truly authentic and remind you of real Italian cooking. The ingredients taste fresh, and the pizza is cooked perfectly.

GREAT CHINESE FOOD - GREAT PRICES
Walking around hungry near the Gare Du Lyon train station, we came upon this small, take-away sized family run restaurant. It is clean inside, quiet and no frills if you choose to grab a table. But the food is not ordinary, it is high quality Chinese, Japanese with a good, traditional selection. I had fried rice (riz cantonais), sweet and sour pork, a nim, noodles and mushroom chicken. All of the dishes were high quality. The owners are very friendly and I spoke with them a few minutes after eating to let them know I had found a good place to return to eat. While we were busily eating, several Parisians drifted in quietly, retrieving their white take away bags, so this seems to be a popular Chinese take-away hot spot as well. Paris has countless restaurants, most are good, however there are dozens upon dozens of exceptional Chinese food restaurants littered around Paris and being a Chinese food fanatic, I have made it my mission to hunt, each and every one of them down. This is another notch on my pole. Electrohermit gives Aux Bonheurs two thumbs up and I will be back.

Wow, what an unexpected treasure just off the main road! The location is incredibly convenient for a quick visit. The banchan portions were quite generous, but, oh no, they were out of galbi! What a downer since that’s what we were really looking forward to. The beef bulgogi was surprisingly sweet, and the pork bulgogi was chopped way too fine. The mandu didn’t impress either, with a mushy filling and lacking flavor. I wasn’t quite prepared for such tiny bites of Korean food. Still, we were absolutely thrilled with the fresh and delicious kimchi! It’s definitely a hidden spot worth discovering! 🌟

This is by far the best Korean food I've ever eaten. I highly recommend the chicken bulgogi! The family that owns the restaurant is very kind and was very patient with us as we do not speak French. The food was so delicious that we ate there both nights we spent in Paris. Highly recommended!

I don't leave reviews often, but I had to for this restaurant. We found this place on a whim and found a hidden gem within Paris. Not only was the food up to the quality of homemade South Korean food, the atmosphere and the service/attention given to us was beyond phenomenal. I will 100% recommend this place to any South Koreans or even any other tourist looking for a hearty/filling restaurant to eat at.
We will visit this place in the future because it's easily our favorite restaurant of all time. The entire atmosphere, service, and food all just reminded me of "home".
