This was great!! If you're vegan and want to try out some typical French dishes, then this is the restaurant for you. Excellent onion soup and lemon meringue dessert

They don't allow for more than 5 stars for the food or I would choose that. The food is perfect. Such great French flavors in vegan dishes. The service is great and very personable. Even if you are not absorbing Vegan or Vegetarian, you will be amazed by the food.

Beautiful and hearty vegan food! Definitely recommend and will be returning when back in Paris. The male waiter that served us was so friendly and helpful; really made our experience. We had the French onion soup and seitan bourguigon and loved every bit!

A long-standing vegan ally that has been operational since 2003, this particular venue continues to promote healthy vegan cuisine, honouring classic French dishes, but with a vegan twist.
Homemade for sure.

L’Ambroisie is the embodiment of what Michelin 3-star dining should be: refined, authentic, and grounded in tradition. In contrast to the growing number of trendy fine dining establishments chasing novelty with gimmicks and theatrics, L’Ambroisie stands firm in its devotion to classic French gastronomy—elegant, focused, and deeply rooted in culinary heritage.
The setting is exquisite. Located in a 17th-century townhouse on Place des Vosges, the dining room is quiet, richly decorated, and full of character. It feels less like a restaurant and more like a private salon—a place where time slows down and every detail matters.
What impressed me most, beyond the cuisine, was the supreme level of service. Traditional in the best sense: polished, discreet, and genuinely warm. I felt respected from the moment I arrived, and it was clear that the staff carry a deep pride in what they do. There’s a sincerity and passion here that can’t be faked.
L’Ambroisie doesn’t shout for your attention—it doesn’t need to. Its excellence speaks softly, through perfect technique, an unwavering sense of identity, and a commitment to true hospitality. For anyone who values substance over spectacle, this is an experience not to be missed.

Went there before it appeared on that Netflix Jap TV show. Feels like old school French fine dining. I think it was the Sommelier who welcomed, and took care of us. Very friendly, very warm and sincere. Gave me solid recommendations about what a French person would love from the menu. I love offals and stinky cheeses, and he picked the best for us. Really loved the "Frenchness" of the place. It's not another expensive avant garde starred place.

We originally chose L’Ambroisie Paris as the final highlight of our trip, inspired by its appearance in a film that left a deep impression on us. We had high expectations, but unfortunately, the dining experience turned out to be one of the most disappointing of our entire journey.
The service was far from what one would expect at a Michelin three-star establishment. From the moment we arrived, the staff displayed a lack of warmth, professionalism, and courtesy. Their demeanor, the way they spoke to us, and even the careless placement of tableware all felt unwelcoming. To our shock, the utensils provided were visibly chipped — something completely unacceptable at this level of fine dining.
What truly left us speechless was an incident involving my handbag. The staff had placed it on a hook beneath the table, but during the meal, one of the waiters casually swept bread crumbs off the table with a scraping stick — directly into my bag. I was stunned. It was beyond disrespectful and completely unimaginable for a restaurant of this caliber.
As for the food, while the plating was fine, the flavors were underwhelming and failed to live up to either the restaurant’s reputation or its price point.
Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience. For a restaurant of such prestige and price, the lack of attention to service and detail was unacceptable. We cannot recommend this restaurant, especially to those who value hospitality, care, and a truly refined dining experience.

This was probably one of my favorite restaurants ever. There aren't many classic fine dining French restaurants out there that don't offer a tasting option, so this place was special. For starters, we had the famous curry langoustine and foie gras + morels. The langoustines were light and sweet, and probably the best tasting I have ever had, with the sauce not overpowering and as a perfect compliment. The Foie was so creamy and decadent with a luxurious sauce. For the plats, we had the lamb and the bass filets in a creamy artichoke sauce with Kristal caviar. The bass was not only plated beautifully, it was my favorite dish I had in Paris. Just a perfect combination of textures and flavor balance in every bite. Next up, was the cheese course which we were offered nearly 20 different options to choose from. We were stuffed by the end and decided to share the chocolate tart. One of our servers thought this was a mistake and comped us a 2nd one so we could both enjoy our own. Another wow dish that's been on the menu for 35+ years. The wine selected for us worked with every course. Service was flawless and personable. One of our servers, who has worked there for 30+ years wanted to introduce us to his granddaughter on our way out as it was her first day working. Just a wonderful experience at such a storied restaurant. Can't wait to return.

Went there for our wedding anniversary. I simply cannot fault the food - everything you’d expect for traditional French cuisine done to its very best.
The service in comparison fell slightly short.
Overall I’d still go back to this Michelin restaurant - I have had plenty overpriced Michelin French food over the years in London so it’s refreshing to be at a place where food is actually exceptionally done.

Been here a couple of times and it has never disappointed. Loved every dish I tried.
I asked the server to get us a brownie and a candle in it since it was my friend’s birthday and she did, at the perfect time. Thank you for that.

Been here for a solo dinner during summer. Tables outside are placed along a very quiet street with barely any car or people passing, so ideal for dining.
Had the pleasure to enjoy a beautiful sunset sky along my dinner. The risotto was great and very interesting both in terms of flavor and presentation. But what really shook me was the dessert! Really recommend (as an Italian myself)

I wanted to like this place . However, the food was just not good.. Sunday night in Paris. We picked this place because it was close to us and recommended by our Airbnb hosts . However,, the food is just weird. We ordered the asparagus that was in an Overly sweetened sauce from a white wine And I had the recommended Artichoke pasta Dish. The artichoke pasta had a very strange taste. That was not bad, but just not enjoyable. The atmosphere is very quaint and warm and the waitress was great. However, the food just isn’t Up to Paris standards.

I highly recommend this restaurant. The ambiance is amazing. And The staff members were welcoming and helpful. The food was authentic and tasteful. I had the fried shrimps on a bed of chopped vegetables, the shrimp was excellent but I found the taste was too vinegary coz the capers are pickled already so high acidity and salt, then they also added pickled apples. So I suggest either the apples of the capers. Or they could replace the capers with green black peppers that are green n fresh. We also had the fish that was beautifully presented, opened and stuffed with the vegetables. Same thing the olives in their were picked so they were high on salt and acidity and that strong flavor was dominant over the delicious sea bass and the delicate vegetables. I also had a special dessert for the first time in my life I had eggplants for dessert !!!! Yes it was made into jam with orange peel and a ball of ricotta cheese to balance it off, very sweet but good.

Totally bad experience today. I reserved one week before the arrival and explicitly mentioned that we need children seat. We didn't get one, and I think they don't have one. We wanted a seat indoors as it was quite windy outside, but they said unfortunately not possible due to some group reservation later that evening. The tone of the waiter was a bit rude - either you sit outside - or we don't have a seat for you.
Furthermore , he also totally forgot our order of onion soup. Terrible service.
The food quality was quite ok. But i won't go there again due to a very poor service.

Found this place when the place we were headed was closed for renovations. What a fortunate find!
Matthew, our waiter, was VERY helpful in explaining the menus to us and the wide variety of delicious desserts.
There was one item we ordered that didn’t agree with our American taste buds and he happily exchanged is for a delicious club sandwich that we loved.
Friendly place, great service, delicious food!
Highly recommend.

I’m now made of 80% lemon meringue 🤪
I happily waited 45 mins for the lemon meringue to be ready and it was worth the weight. It not only looked impressive, but tasted incredible. The citron was tart and the meringue super fluffy, sticky and sweet. The staff were really friendly too.

This has been on my want to go list for a long time and I’m so happy I made it. Delicious French food with tarts, sandwiches, salads and dishes of the day - but the star is obviously the cakes. They had easily 20 different cakes and pies on offer - well sized for sharing - and lots of creative options. The service was good and the place extends quite far in the back so the line to get in moves quite quickly. Definitely a new staple for future visits.

Went with my partner today for lunch and dessert ..
Firstly friendly and efficient service in very cozy decor.
We ordered quiche that came with a small salad which was excellent .
The big shock came with the desserts , overly sweet meringue and very acidic lemon pie. I couldn't finish it and my partner's raspberry apple linzer tart was meh but we also asked for 2 apple turnovers as takeaway .
The bill was over the top : 70 euros.
We won't be going back ..

Very disappointing experience because this place was so well rated. We had two different kinds of pie (quiche) - both over cooked. Then we still wanted to try our luck with the delicious looking desserts but that was equally disappointing.
The flan had zero vanilla taste.
The signature lemon Mareng cake did not have a good taste. And the Normand cake was very simple.
Only giving two stars for the very friendly staff.

We came for oysters and were not disappointed. We had all 4 different types as the other 2 were not in season. We also had 1/2 lobster which wasn’t the best but still ok. The Moka Baileys dessert is delicious.
We were served by Seam who spoke English, was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. There was another waitress who was there on her first day and it was good to see how Seam taught her the ropes kindly.
Nice atmosphere with happy singing along bartenders😂

A good friend of mine, who used to live in Paris, kindly recommended booking a table here for my birthday — and what a fantastic suggestion it was!
By day, the venue operates as a fish shop, but in the evening, it transforms into an elegant yet cosy restaurant. My partner and I started with an appetiser before sharing 'Le Seafood,' a generous platter of mixed cooked and raw fish. I highly recommend it — the oysters were exceptional! To accompany our meal, we chose my favourite white wine, Muscadet, and were impressed by their extensive selection of quality wines.
The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, speaking excellent English. A special mention goes to 'The Lillies'—the two lovely waitresses, Lilly and Lilly — who took great care of us and kept us entertained all evening. To top it off, we were delighted when the chef came out to greet us and check if everything had been to our satisfaction. Despite it being the end of service and us being the last guests, they continued to make us feel welcome.
To be honest, I wouldn’t think twice about returning — next time I’m in Paris, I’ll definitely stop by this amazing restaurant again!

If you’re in Paris and craving a truly exceptional seafood experience, this restaurant should be at the top of your list. Nestled in a charming corner of the city, the ambiance here is both elegant and inviting, blending classic Parisian decor with a modern touch. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that each guest is well taken care of without being intrusive. Especially a waitress Imane, she made my day!
The seafood offerings are nothing short of spectacular. Starting with an impeccably fresh oyster platter, each shell boasts a delicate, briny sweetness that transports you straight to the coast. The lobster and king crab are cooked to perfection, and the subtle seasoning enhances rather than masks the natural flavors. You must truly try shrimps with garlic!
Overall, this restaurant is more than just a meal; it’s an experience that combines Parisian charm with the finest seafood, making it a must-visit for any seafood lover in the city. Highly recommended!

The orange crepe was the best! We came here twice during our stay just for this orange crepe. It was fresh and nicely chewy, and it's so much better with extra whipped cream.
They also had English menu.
However the waiter suggested us to leave at first because apparently the kitchen was busy and it'd take 30-45 mins for us to get our food, in fact it only took 5-10 mins to get our orders which was weird.

My favorite Japanese restaurant in Paris! They only bring red quality salmon and their prices are medium (almost the same with a normal sushi place in the city).
Almost everything in the menu is excellent, but I highly recommend the Shake and Shake Nagi. I also love the edamame, and in this place they really taste like the original Japanese ones. As a soft drink I recommend the green tea without sugar or if it’s in the winter the hot green tea (excellent!). For desert you need to the mochi (the one with green tea!)! Photos with all these attached.
Location is excellent, just next to Hôtel de Ville and close to Notre Dame, which makes it a very good place to stop for lunch or dinner, in between tourist activities.
Since the size of the restaurant is quite small (around 36-40 places) their interior design is simple and clean with many Japanese like ornaments.
I also attached photos of the menu (23.06.2019).
Overall, I highly recommend this place.

The food is definitely not for Asian flavor. Ramen is one of the most terrible I’ve ever had in my life — it’s too soft, like soaking in soup for too long. We order a bowl and it’s just fine. Nothing special. Don’t go if you travel from Asia and like authentic Asian food.

We just enjoyed a lovely evening at Don Giovanni. The food was typical Italian fare which is served internationally. Generally, the dishes were well executed - the starters were simple, yet tasty, using fresh ingredients. Our pasta dishes were wonderful.
