We ordered two pizzas for delivery and they were really disappointing. They use really weird dough, cheap cheese and the pizzas were saturated in oil. We couldn’t eat them. Definately not recommended if you like Italian style pizzas.

Ambiente pequeno, mas, muito acolhedor. Fomos até o local comer uns salgados. O atendimento das meninas foi muito bom (educadas e de boa conversa). Os salgados tem uma massa muito saborosa, leve e com recheio espetacular (comemos de carne seca, frango com catupiry e calabresa). Com certeza voltaremos para provar as pizzas (o cheiro é delicioso).

Pedi uma pizza gigante meia portuguesa meia mussarela. Quando recebi a caixa veio bem leve parecia que não tinha nada dentro. Muito pouco recheio. Pizza ruim. Aliás para um belo apreciador de pizza, horrível. Não recomendo .

This restaurant is well known for the locals and is hidden a few blocks from thr main strip. If you LOVE seafood this is the place to GO. They are well known for the "pastel de camarones" its a fried shrimp empanada that its delicious. We order the Lobster Belle Meuniere and feed 3. It was soooo good! Natan and Sousa were our servers and it felt that they wre our personal butler's. They make sure the wine glasses were top off, re-filled the plate with lobster, potatoes, and garnished them. It was a great experience.

100% recommended. O caranguejo is a great and strange restaurant. Forget instagrammable and boogie places. That's not it. O caranguejo is about high quality ingredients, amazingly sized portions, and the best you can get in terms of sea food in Copacabana. Has been recommended to me by many locals and I just visited. It's located far from the beach, the menu isn't affordable but the portions can feed 2 to 3. For someone visiting alone, look no further, and order some bolinho de bacalhau (cod) and a escondidinho de camarão (shrimp thick stew). In my opinion, this hidden and inconspicuous place is worth your visit and all its 5 stars (maybe 4 on atmosphere as discussed).

I found the restaurant before I arrived in Rio, and upon arrival it turned out to be right next to our hotel. We ate dinner there every day and every day with a different fish. I ate the best fish of my life here. Everything fresh, aromatic, topped off with wine and a Rio vibe! A great place worth a visit! There is also a bar next to the restaurant where you can eat empanadas to take away. Highly recommended!

Restaurante O Caranguejo was an interesting dining experience. Be prepared to be in the open. As a foreigner, you may stick out like a sore thumb, especially if you dine on the sidewalk. It’s a good place to interact with passersby, if your given mood calls for it. I was approached roughly 6 times during the course of my visit and meal. The entree, Camarão Médio (shrimp spaghetti), was a bit bland, and I was apparently charged double…I don’t see 310 Reais on the menu for any given item, but hey. Service was nice. He kept a peculiar constant vigil on my table, as well as shoo away vagrants at the super busy traffic intersection. Careful accepting pop-up pastry offers…everything comes with a price. Overall, it’s worth trying for a new place to visit just to say you have. Admittedly, I haven’t tried their seafood dishes, so I may go again for it. This time I’ll request seating inside, despite its population density.

Buffet restaurant with an majority of vegan and vegetarian options, but also chicken and salmon and other meat options. Simple place, but food is good! You weigh your good and pay accordingly. Staff if helpful when English is not working. As always with buffet, I ate too much so no room for deserts, but they some cakes to choose from, some of which are vegan.

Self-serve style restaurant with lots of vegan options and a great place if you're looking for real, wholefoods (rather than faux meats and cheese etc). Also a bonus for it all being authentic Brazilian style food. Only thing to be mindful of is that you pay by the kilo and it gets surprisingly expensive surprisingly quickly (for traditional Brazilian food).

Just to confirm all, this isn't a fully vegan place but a place with a lot of vegan options. Having said that, the food is great. Its buffet based system where you pick what you like and charged by weight

Delicious food! Not quite "al dente", but not Chef Bouardee either. I found the toppings enjoyable and they have variety on the menu. Only complaint is for lunch, I struggled to order my food speaking in English. Yet, I returned the same day for dinner only to learn they have an English menu (?!) I had tipped the lunch lady helping me with my English lunch order. Now I feel like I may have gotten scammed. Be advised.

Not bad nor great. Unique idea and pretty seamless to order, but good lacked flavour or texture in truth. If receiving at a proper restaurant, would have been greatly disappointed. Good for a quick stop for food, not the place to look forward to though.

We've gone there many times, it's a mixture of fast food and quality at the same time, all the ingredients seems, tastes and smells new, they got a promotion for 300gr of pasta that is enough for me that eat alot.

Good decent pasta for (not so) affordable prices. Good if you’re on a budget, a hurry, all-carbs diet and don’t all the annoying noisy people who often goes there. Service is ok. I mean, they do their best given the poor conditions provided by their bosses.

The best pizza I had in my life. This place scores down all places in Rio minus one star. They speak English more than any other places, and that is a big plus. Nice small clean toilet. Nice sweets and desserts. Nothing to complain, I truly hope I will be back.

This is a 24x7 place and many party goers will drop-by after partying into the late hours in a Sunday morning. I was there at about 6.30am in a Sunday morning and the crowd was noisy and rowdy but no drunkards around. They have pizzas, burgers and mains for food and a variety of drinks including hot beverages. Food was great in the sense that they are not salty like those few restaurants I been to in São Paulo and Rio over the last few days. Salt was provided in packets when the fries was served. Portion is still big to me. Must try their desserts though I cannot remember the names. Service staff was friendly and helpful though they do not speak much English. A nice place to catch up with friends over pizzas and fries.

We came here for a late-night pizza slice. As it was a rather famous pizza place we were hoping to find Rio’s best pizza. The slices are rather big. We paid our order at the payment desk (opposite to the bar, left from the main entrance) and then we could get our orders from the bar. We had some take-away slices as the seating area was all packed. The service was super friendly and quick. We had a caprese and a pepperoni/salame slice. The pizza is rather hefty and greasy, not a classical Napoli or Roman style pizza. The crust was filled with cheese as well and in the end it felt like a lot of cheese and bread. We liked the experience and it is great that they have 24h service. For a long night with booze it seems a perfect place to come by afterwards. Enjoy!

Tourist review: great service, great post midnight meal. Felt safe, staff were courteous - food was a good size and very tasty. We had the fish and the steak... I saw other having gigantic tasty looking pizza slices.. - Next time!

Neighborhood pizza joint. Sells soft drinks and beer. A diverse menu offering salads, burgers, chicken fingers etc Don't expect New York pizza but its tasty.

The place is very good for the price. Sometimes the hot water and light in the bathroom didn't work. As for safety, you shouldn't have to worry about the favela; just be careful. (The area isn't very nice.)
