I stumbled upon this place in the middle of my wife shoes shopping spree, it’s in the Galería Menescal between Barra and Sra.copacabana, so far the best Esphiha I have had in Rio. If one gets lucky you may get a plate, and be prepare to eat standing up with your Kibe or Esphia in a napkin….but it’s worth the wait in line and a bit squeezed in this tiny place. Loved the food

Wonderful, delicious and healthy food. Run by Victor who is the owner. A very likeable person who's working hard to make the business a success. Started about 2 months ago. Falafel were good. The combos are also good. It's fast food but well made.
I wish Victor great success. And pray that one day he will own the whole building with fine dining arab restaurant.

Rude and bad service, food was a bit boring and dry. Nice location.

Lovely place! Has great Lebanese food. Really very tasty and very cheap as well. We just used it as a take away. Not really much space inside to sit and eat and enjoy the food. Everything I got from there was delicious

One of the best by kilo restaurants in the area.

Not bad. Food was decent for lunch. It was cheap. Nice service.

Good food but rather on the expensive side for what's being offered. Higher end restaurants down the block charge the same price for their food, so heads up.

Buffet by weight. Meat dishes were good.

Esquisito.

We really enjoyed our dinner here! Maybe even 5 star. Big selection of food. LOVED the simple but delicious black bean soup with pork belly, cheap and filling and tastes great! Also the cold octopus with vinegar and seasoning. And the sardine. The shrimp rice for one person was good and actually enough for two people. Our server was super nice, smiling, patient, and helpful. They have nice drinks here too. Outdoor seating looked fine, but we stayed inside which is comfortable and many seats. Glad we came here and will come back for sure.

Dropped in during a guided food tour. This history of the place is interesting and the hard work to keep it open over time is commendable. I really liked the squid and fish I had. Would definitely return.

Iberian-style tapas with decades of tradition
-22.965992°, -43.187334° Behind the Siqueira Campos/Copacabana metro station, this small, long-established Portuguese boteco (tavern) is known for its wide selection of seafood tapas, including octopus, crab, smoked salmon and pickled garlic behind a glass front, and traditional appetisers. Operating since 1957, it has sold Portuguese and Spanish delicacies in 100-gram portions, accompanied by ice-cold beers or cachaça (sugar cane liqueur). Former customers took over from the original owners and have preserved the traditional boteco ambiance down to the last detail.
In April 2025, we ordered grilled squid with broccoli rice and salad (R$50) for lunch. The presented grilled squid was a surprise as we expected it to be sliced before grilling. It was cooked rather than grilled in one piece and gave us a different taste of octopus. No octopus deep-fried. Service was good at the small and narrow tables. The atmosphere was special.
For an authentic and tasty experience, especially for seafood lovers, Adega Pérola remains a remarkable destination in Copacabana.

Came just before noon when it was moderately empty and left an hour later when a queue was starting to form outside
The service is friendly and helpful and they have a long menu but I picked from the display case. I don’t speak Portuguese but the server was very patient and nice! Got fried fish eggs and salmon, which were great! I also got the oysters but they weren’t very good - tasted extremely salty and fishy.
Their WiFi is super fast, but because the place is crowded I left early.

Mostly indoor seating with a counter of already prepared dishes. We had the mussels and octopus dish. You order by grams. Both were marinated the same way with onion, oil and other spices. Both were tender and slightly cooled when served. We didn't try any hot entrees. The coconut water actually came in the coconut. That was the best-very refreshing after a long day of flights and no sleep, walking around in the heat.

A very cute place to have morning coffee and pastry or buy traditional Brazilian food items. Small place with only two tables but very friendly and helpful staff. Quickly became our go to place for breakfast. Also bought Brazilian cheese, crackers, and a type of traditional mango/guava(?) spread. Many other items to choose from. Our favorite pastry was a kind of Brazilian corn bread (much much better than American ones) pictured here.

A wonderful place!! Where you'll find delicious products: Santa Rosa coffee, originally from Minas Gerais, is simply delicious! Don't miss: the mango and guava sweets! But above all, the excellent service from Felipe! What a kind and warm person! He offered us coffee, samples of the sweets, and was very attentive to all our questions!

From the moment we walked in, Felipe made us feel at home.
A pleasant place with high-quality products at a fair price.
We enjoyed tastings of coffee, arequipe, and other sweets, all delicious, and the service was first-rate.
A good place to buy typical Brazilian products or to spend time sharing a delicious Brazilian coffee.
Thank you, Felipe, for your great service.

O lugar é bem pequeno, com poucas mesas.
A comida do buffet fica muito parada e acaba ficando meio esquisita.
Lá fora fala que 100g custa R$4,99, mas a balança marca R$6,49.
Restaurantes melhores oferecem comida mais barata.

Excellent service, good prices, and delicious food.
If you pay 15 reais in the low season and 17 reais in the summer, it's an all-you-can-eat buffet and/or by the kilo... and the servers are very friendly.

Really reasonably priced, tasty açai with all the toppings you can choose from included. We have frequented this place since our arrival in Rio and would definitely recommend.
Kara H - 6 months ago
I'm not sure what happened with the açaí batch they used to make our bowls, but the taste was awful, mouldy and off. My boyfriend and I tried to mention it to the server (it wasn’t our first açaí bowl), and we asked if something had gone wrong. He insisted that this was the normal taste. We decided not to eat it because we were genuinely concerned it might make us sick. That said, the server was very polite and did refund us, which we appreciated!

Easily the best açai in Rio. Have tried nearly all Açai brands in the south zone and this is the one that people always ask me to bring for them. Kind staff

100% recommend this place! Great Lebanese food with such an amazing price—32 reals for a huge plate of 5 options (you can also have less options for a cheaper prices). I’m so happy that I found this place in the neighborhood.
The owners/staff are the most friendliest people. They welcomed me, introduced themselves and explained all the choices to me. There were regular customers who also chatted with me. You can tell the place has good energy and the food is made with love. It reminded me of those small neighborhood restaurants in NYC.
They speak English too so that’s a plus. I will definitely be a regular customer here!

Perfect place for good and affortable food
I recommend taking a plate with 5 things, and mix it how you like it (only 32real!!)
Man behind counter is such a cutie who will help you chose the best combo
Sadly we found it on our last day in Rio, so we couldn't get back to ask for recipe of veg tomatoe, eggplant and chickpea thingy, which was delicious!
This place deserves more hype🙌

All dishes are well served. Food is quite tasty. The restaurant is small and there isn’t much of an ambience, but there is no better place to stretch your dollar. It is worth it! Good inexpensive food and all employees treat you well. It is not purely Arabian food, there is a touch of Brazil in it, which makes it even better... in my humble opinion.
