We are so happy we chose Frederick's for lunch after our legal weeding ceremony at Islington Town Hall. From the very beginning, Andreea made the whole process incredibly easy and stress-free. She was a pleasure to work with, responsive, organised and attentive to every detail. On the day, everything had been perfectly arranged in advance. Our guests' food orders had been taken care of, all of the drinks we had requested were ready in the room, and every detail had been thoughtfully considered. We were especially touched by the little extras – the beautifully printed menus, place cards and welcome sign. These thoughtful touches made the celebration feel so special and exceeded our expectations. The Clarence Room was beautiful and the perfect size for our group of 16 guests, with plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy the afternoon. The food was outstanding and received so many compliments from our guests. In fact, everyone commented on both the quality of the food and the exceptional service. Everything was executed flawlessly from start to finish. Frederick's made our wedding celebration feel effortless and truly special. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you to Andreea and the entire team for helping us create such wonderful memories.

Classic fine dining restaurant in the heart of Islington. An incredibly stylish interior, conservatory with glass roof and garden area which is stunning on a sunny day. The service is excellent and the food is excellent exceptional. British cuisine at its finest.

We held a small wedding gathering at The club Room at the end of February, and we are very grateful to Andreea for her thoughtful planning and communication. Everything went smoothly, and the restaurant even has a lovely small garden outside, perfect for photos. With the sunny weather, everything was absolutely perfect!

I photographed a beautiful Wedding at Fredericks and it was such a memorable day. The food was so fantastic and the staff were great. Highly recommend as a location for a cool, London Wedding. I'd love to come back.

I'm giving this place 3 stars as not fair to judge it too harshly as just opened under new management. Its had a sort of make over but I found it a bit bleak - again, it's prob a work in progress so things may improve. Nice barman served me - quite pleasant. No toilet paper in ladies loo - thats pretty rare nowadays so needs monitoring. I think it's a case of let's see how it goes!

This is an excellent venue for any party. We had our engagement party there back in November, and they pulled out all the stops for us, even helped organise external caterers and brought in drinks they didn’t usually have. Nothing was too much effort. If you get Bala managing things for you, you are in extremely good hands. Can’t wait for the next celebration to have there. We took over all three floors with 150 people, it was an absolute rager! Very easy and they delivered a great party

I went here with my family for a Sunday Roast after we saw there was new management. The roasts were delicious and of a proper size! There were even vegan and vegetarian roast options which did not hold back- the roast parsnip was a personal favourite. The bar staff were super friendly and helpful with our young child, and the building had obviously just had a refresh as it was decorated tastefully with flowers on the tables. Would definitely return!

Lovely neighbourhood pub with lots of food and drinks options. We had the burger and Sunday roast, which was fab! Love the portions and the friendly service. I recommend the Sunday road mix for the meat lovers and the veggie option for the vegetable enthusiasts.

Spent my Saturday evening here. Was spectacular with such hard working bar staff, someone who really stood out to me was a lady named Chloe. She was extremely attentive to us and extremely pleasant. What a lovely addition to have to your team! The food was spectacular, I honestly can’t rate this pub enough. I will be back every weekend thanks to this great customer service which you tend to get anymore. Go the Islington Townhouse Pub!!!

Incredible little pub. Went to watch the Arsenal parade and was so happy that we booked a table for after. The vibe was impeccable, the team were so accommodating and really made our night. The scotch egg and sausage roll were some of the best I've had. Didn't know they had a roof terrace but it was gorgeous. Will definitely be coming back to this gem of a pub! Thanks team!

had a great meal at the castle! all of it tasted amazing and the service was good. the food took a bit longer to come out than i would’ve liked but it wasn’t majorly bad and it all tasted superb. it was quiet in there but there was music on at a good level so i enjoyed the atmosphere. would recommend and would return!

Had such a lovely time at The Castle in Angel. The garden is honestly one of the best parts of the place, super cozy, beautiful atmosphere. Also a special thank you to Erika, who was absolutely amazing. She was so warm, attentive, and welcoming, and really made the whole experience feel extra special. Her energy and kindness genuinely stand out. Will definitely be coming back!

I always have great experience in chilango. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We always have little chat with them. Andre and Ravi (I am sorry if I spelled that wrong) are great. The place was clean and tidy. The food was super delicious. I had vegan chicken which was tasty. My bowl was full of flavour, sauce and perfect portion size. Second time I got burrito and it was just amazing! Full of flavour, very big portion! Definitely will be coming back! I can highly recommend this place! Thanks team!

I was so pleasantly surprised by the FLAVOUR this burrito had, I’ve had burritos from other places and sometimes it feels like you’re just chewing on nothing, but THIS place 😮 I was actually shocked at how much flavour the steak and prawns had even alongside all the toppings I got, they didn’t disappear under the flavours of everything else. Honestly really happy I came and will definitely be back 😝. (Also the price of my burrito was the same as some other popular places that we all know, except all my toppings were free so it actually turned out cheaper) finished this is under 10 mins Icl

Perfect date night spot! We had such an amazing high-quality Japanese meal together. The decor is clean and minimalist, creating a really comfortable and relaxed vibe. The Turbot Kosho Ponzu and Nori Tori Karaage were absolute highlights—we loved both! If you don't feel like overthinking the menu, the Sasa Set is definitely the easiest and best choice. Plus, their sake cocktails are exceptional. Highly recommend!

This was me and my husband's second visit to Sasa Sushi, and we were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary. Our first visit was two years ago for our 8th anniversary, and I have to say, this place blew me away all over again. Where do I start? Let’s begin with the most important part – the food. Every single mouthful was bursting with fresh, delicate, authentic flavours. It was so good that it instantly took me back to my time living in Japan over 10 years ago. My husband and I couldn’t fault a thing. From the delicious plum wine to his absolute favourite—the Spicy Wagyu Roll—everything was exceptional. The roll was simply incredible: a crispy outer layer, soft, buttery wagyu beef, creamy sauce, and a subtle smoky char. It was heaven in every bite. In fact, we loved it so much we ordered a second portion! It’s an absolute must-order. Everything we ate was outstanding. The ambience is classy yet relaxed, with a stylish, welcoming atmosphere. The staff were warm, friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. I only wish we lived closer so we could visit more often. A perfect place for a special occasion, and we’ll definitely be back whenever we’re in the area.

★★★★★ Excellent sushi and one of our favorite meals in London. The jalapeño sashimi dish and the miso scallops were outstanding and packed with flavor. Fresh fish, beautifully presented dishes. We’ll definitely be back. Unfortunately the service was a little off - a dish as well as tap water were forgotten until we reminded the staff. Hopefully that was a one-off thing and you’ll not have that unfortunate experience.

Decent sushi! Price is on the expensive side given the portion sizes, especially the crispy salmon bites.. 3 pieces for £10 with tiny bit of salmon on top is a bit criminal! We got the salmon sharer set which was good! Sushi had more rice than salmon and minute amount of greens inside! The tuna don is also very expensive given the size as it’s just rice with a few slices of tuna! The sushi was also sliced really thinly so it didn’t feel like a complete roll, and the rolls are about £15!! So overall value is not great! Quality was good, atmosphere is good! But still hungry after the meal!

Really enjoyed my lunch here! Firstly, the service was great and efficient. Secondly, the food was amazing. I had the Myddelton Bento with Hojicha! The sashimi was fresh and delicious, and I loved the rock shrimp tempura! The tea was comforting and I like the design of the teapot. Lastly, the interior is elegant and lovely. I felt that SASA is one of the best Japanese restaurants I have been to in London! I will definitely come back to try their dinner menu:)

I had such a lovely experience at this restaurant in Angel, I can’t recommend it enough! The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the chicken Pad Thai and it was full of flavor, perfectly balanced, fresh, and super satisfying. You can really tell care goes into the dishes here. The staff were kind and attentive, and Emese in particular went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. It genuinely made the whole experience even better. Also, a huge bonus: it’s dog-friendly. My pup was able to relax while I enjoyed my meal, which is always such a plus. Highly recommend if you’re in the Angel area

I had a vegan bottomless bowl, and everything was delicious. Next time I will skip the chips and have more of the tofu curry instead. My favourites were the sweetcorn fritter balls with stiracha mayo and and the bang bang broccoli with sweet chilli dip - so tasty! I was served by Sai, who was super helpful, kind, patient and friendly - she has a lovely and positive energy, and is a real credit to your restaurant!

Matcha Noodles Surprise at Banana Tree Islington I recently visited Banana Tree Islington for the Big Noodle Takeover, and it was such a fun and tasty experience! This spot really delivers bold Asian flavours with generous portions, perfect for sharing with a friend. The matcha coconut curry noodles were a standout. We had the vegan tofu version, and it gave Japanese tamagoyaki vibes: soft, slightly sweet, and so satisfying. Rich, creamy, and unexpectedly delicious, they almost feel like a twist on pasta! The chicken pad thai was tender and full of flavour with generous chunks of tasty chicken breast. The giant prawn crackers were light, crispy, and addictive, making the perfect start to the meal. Desserts didn’t disappoint either. We had banana fritters with chocolate & caramel sauce and ice cream, plus a chocolate‑miso‑style sweet. The banana fritters were amazing! I was skeptical at first but the supervisor Sandeed said this was his favourite! It was super crispy/crunchy, and delicious with the chocolate sauce and ice cream! Huge shout‑out to the staff, especially Sandeep, who made sure everything ran smoothly. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. The place is spacious, nice environment with a lot of greenery (not real tho) the crowd was pleasant. Clean toilets. If you’re after bold, comforting Asian flavours, generous portions, and a friendly vibe, Banana Tree Islington is a must‑try.

This was my first visit here and I would give the food 10/10 especially for the mains. Loved the noodle bowls!! The season's special mango-chicken noodles was amazing and if you like it spicy ask for their homemade sauces. The lychee-martini was the best I had and they do an amazing 2 for 1 cocktail deal throughout the week. They could have done better with the soya eggs as starter by adding some herbs, spring onions and chillies the traditional way but, otherwise the food was fresh and delicious.

I had a lovely time at Banana Tree. It’s halal! I go uni near here and have gone 3 times already, and the food has never disappointed. Today, I got their limited edition Lamb Rendang, and it was beautiful. Aromatic and opens with a comforting warmth. I honestly hope they make it a permanent option in their menu!! I want it everyday. I also always get the Bang Bang Broccoli, just a standard as if it were a water 😭 Service is also really nice!! They check up on you and tend to you often. Make sure you sign up for their offers! They have a £15 off voucher when you spend £30 or more!! My entire meal came to £19 (£21.38 inc service charge) Guys just go here kasmeh bruh

Been here a number of times now, and every time was a great experience! Great food that always leaves me full and service also top-notch. I'd like to mention Maia (or Maya?) who made my order on my most recent visit and who did so very welcomingly (and gracefully!). Only 'downside' is not having a customer toilet, but since the place itself isn't the biggest, can't really expect one either :)

Was my first time trying Mexican food, and I was blown away. The food was so flavourful and the staff so helpful. They guided me on how to order and was very helpful with suggesting what I’d like according to my preference. The portion size was also great. I went for the medium chicken asado bowl and they filled it to the brim. They also don’t skip on the toppings and you can ask for more. I couldn’t finish the medium bowl at once, so I would say the portion size was good and really filling. I personally enjoyed it so much I got it 2 days in a row!! Also if you’re a student, the app has great deals for you. Overall, I had a great experience and definitely enjoyed my first Mexican meal. Definitely recommend.

Ordered a chicken bowl from this branch on Deliveroo - it was made and delivered quickly, and would be an overall quite decent meal if not for an absurd amount of onions - which were never requested (perhaps the "grilled veg" option got interpreted as "shove in a whole onion bulb"?). The onions soaked into the rest of the bowl, making it all taste of onions.

Visited here before a gig for drinks. The pub is nice and the staff were friendly and attentive but I wouldn't recommend the food. We waited nearly an hour for our food and most of it came out cold. We returned all of the chips and got fresh ones as they were stone cold (and we thought we could get fresh ones quickly), but after waiting nearly an hour we just ate the rest of the food. The pasta was pretty bland, the fish was kinda dry but I'm told the burgers were nice. The lady behind the bar looking after us was very apologetic. They play the music really loudly as well, to the point you're having to shout at people on the same table as you.

One of the best pubs I've been in UK! Amazing staff, super food, very nice decoration! The people who work there are amazing, super helpful,very easy going and funny! We tried veggie roasty, fish and chips burger and desserts! We loved everything and super lucky to have our last lunch in UK before leaving :)

We had our wedding reception here last weekend. We pre arranged a selection of party plate foods for a buffet for 20 guests, and everyone loved it. Great service from the bar staff as well. Highly recommended if you want a low key venue for a smaller group of wedding/party guests.

Highly recommend this lovely restaurant. All the dishes we ordered were delicious, plentiful & well presented. And the staff were very accommodating in substituting items on their shareable platters. There are several options for vegetarians - the Three Mush-Kuteers is a must try for those that love mushrooms.

Stopped in for a late Saturday night meal and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had duck spring rolls, pad Thai, sweet-and-sour shrimp and drunken noodles with beef, and all three were delicious. However, coconut jasmine sorbet for dessert was the best - I couldn’t get enough of it. Service was fast and we really liked the ambiance. We’ll be back!
