Large room at back - it's like being in a glasshouse, overlooking a garden. Staff were friendly, efficient and we hadwater &bread replaced with ease. We went at lunchtime so both a l carte & set menu available. My main was skate and fabulous. The dessert of Passion Fruit baked Alaska was quite disappointing - I was expecting a tall mound of meringue on an ice cream sponge base but instead the base was a bit hard - like a biscuit and the filling was a sorbet. It was very flat. Coffee good.

Frederick’s is such a lovely spot near Angel’s antique market. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, with lots of greenery and a relaxed vibe. We tried the Angus beef tartare, which was super fresh, and the chargrilled lamb neck, which was so tender and full of flavor. The sticky toffee pudding was the perfect way to end the meal. The service was friendly, and the cocktails were great too. It’s a perfect place for a date night or a nice dinner with friends. Definitely coming back!

Received a £100 voucher with our new home in the area..what a fantastic surprise we had for lunch! What a nice place, big open and airy dining room. A good breadth of different cuisines and options from wine and starters all the way through to deserts. It’s not the most creative or daring menu but it’s an excellent option where anyone would be able to find something they like on the menu. We had: Courgette flower - 7/10 (salad need more texture/dressing) Scallops - 7/10 (cauliflower rice is not a good pairing, makes the whole thing a little cold and watery but other accompaniments were tasty) Monkfish - 7/10 (needs some kind of butter sauce/hollandaise-type thing. Was a little lacking in warmth and fattiness for a rounded dish) Duck - 8/10(our favourite savoury dish, good variation of textures. Just could do with a little more of the jus and could have been a little warmer) Tiramisu - 9/10 Banana cheesecake - 10/10 (favourite overall dish, texture, flavour..all spot on !!) As you can see most dishes were well above average but this place for me wasn’t one of those restaurants that’s all about the food. As an experience it was lovely. Hacin and Jason served us and had absolutely impeccable timing and manor about them. Smiled, poured drinks at the right time, took plates at the right time and gave great recommendations. I hope the management here are proud and look after their staff as they were all lovely, warm and welcoming. A professional, warm and relaxed feeling vibe to this one I will hopefully revisit.

I went here with my family for a Sunday Roast after we saw there was new management. The roasts were delicious and of a proper size! There were even vegan and vegetarian roast options which did not hold back- the roast parsnip was a personal favourite. The bar staff were super friendly and helpful with our young child, and the building had obviously just had a refresh as it was decorated tastefully with flowers on the tables. Would definitely return!

Lovely neighbourhood pub with lots of food and drinks options. We had the burger and Sunday roast, which was fab! Love the portions and the friendly service. I recommend the Sunday road mix for the meat lovers and the veggie option for the vegetable enthusiasts.

The best Sunday roast I've ever had As someone who isn't really a fan of the Sunday roast the one I had here was out of this world everything about this place was exceptional the staff were very attentive without being over bearing the atmosphere was great and the food was the highlight l would highly recommend the Islington townhouse to everyone

Spent my Saturday evening here. Was spectacular with such hard working bar staff, someone who really stood out to me was a lady named Chloe. She was extremely attentive to us and extremely pleasant. What a lovely addition to have to your team! The food was spectacular, I honestly can’t rate this pub enough. I will be back every weekend thanks to this great customer service which you tend to get anymore. Go the Islington Townhouse Pub!!!

I went to The Castle in Angel today for Sunday Roast and it was such a lovely experience! The food was delicious, perfectly cooked, and the atmosphere really cozy. A special mention to Reece, our waiter, he was incredibly kind, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Definitely recommend this place and will be back for sure!

had a great meal at the castle! all of it tasted amazing and the service was good. the food took a bit longer to come out than i would’ve liked but it wasn’t majorly bad and it all tasted superb. it was quiet in there but there was music on at a good level so i enjoyed the atmosphere. would recommend and would return!

Lovely pub, for a drink but this time we ate and the food was outstanding. We went for Sunday lunch and between three us us managed to try the beef, chicken and pork. All the meats were very nicely cooked, and a generous portion (especially the beef) and came with amazing Yorkshire puddings and lots of veg. Extra gravy and puddings available on request and included in the price I think! Brilliant.

The Castle provided a warm welcome and the staff were very friendly. I took my son for a Sunday roast dinner which was pre booked online. We were advised that the oven for Yorkshire pudding was broken and orders were running slightly behind which was fine. We were seated downstairs in the bar area as there were some football matches that day on the screens and the choice of craft beers were to our liking also which was great. Unfortunately, every time we went to the bar to ask how long the food was going to be and were reassured “not long” it actually took 2 hours before we received our dinners from being seated. We are not from the area and I was treating my son to a Christmas visit to London and the reviews at the Castle were good online and I didn’t fancy dragging him around to find somewhere else at 3-4pm on a Sunday which is why we persevered. The food was ok but had a tad of a “ oh my god we forgot about you here’s what we have left” vibe to it. A real shame because it’s a nice place with friendly staff and maybe we were the unfortunate table which got missed in the service. Clearly would’ve scored higher if not for the 2 hour wait. Don’t let our experience stop you from visiting because I believe you could have a lovely dinner and great drinks… just keep an eye on the time

I always have great experience in chilango. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We always have little chat with them. Andre and Ravi (I am sorry if I spelled that wrong) are great. The place was clean and tidy. The food was super delicious. I had vegan chicken which was tasty. My bowl was full of flavour, sauce and perfect portion size. Second time I got burrito and it was just amazing! Full of flavour, very big portion! Definitely will be coming back! I can highly recommend this place! Thanks team!

I really like Chilango! The food is always fresh and full of flavor, the burritos and tacos are amazing, and the staff are super friendly. It’s my go-to spot when I want something tasty and quick definitely worth it every time!

I was tempted to give the food a 4 because of the limited vegan options. But that wouldn’t be fair as it’s not a vegan restaurant and there are sufficient options. Besides the taste and quality is excellent as well as super filling. This was my first time and the staff were great at explaining the process and options. It is fun and reassuring to watch them prepare your meal and be asked what you want included; an anxious vegans’ dream. The decor is super colourful and fun. My only critique of the atmosphere was the music was really loud; which was a little much during the day while the restaurant wasn’t full. Great Latin vibe though. A fantastic experience and I will come again.

Found this place by mistake. Great interior design, the staff was friendly. Nice burritos, tried the chilango and steak burritos. We got fries with sauce and it was fresh. Spacious seating areas are available. The restrooms are in the basement and it was clean.

We've been going there twice a month (at least) for the last 6 months. All ingredients are fresh and tasty, the beef and chicken are cooked to perfection, the guacamole is full of flavours and the sauce in the salad is delicious. And the staff is delightful, we've now become regulars, they always greet us with a hello and a smile, we love this place!

We had such a genuinely lovely time, the service was great, staff were friendly and food was fast. 💨🍸☕️ The seared set and seared salmon ume were absolute highlights, full of flavour without being heavy. The fish tasted incredibly fresh, and you could really tell the quality straight away. 🍣 🍣🍣 We also tried some of the hot food options and honestly, they were just as good as the sushi! Great wine list! 🍤 🍆 🍢🫛 We tried the melon liqueur! 🍈🧡 It was a fun little surprise! super refreshing and easy to drink and really well with the seared set. Definitely recommend going with friends! 👯‍♀️👯‍♀️👬🏼

Can not recommend enough their Crunchy Tuna roll. My friends and I also had the Rainbow, Volcano and Wagyu Nigiri roll and we loved all of them. Prices were not too bad and the atmosphere and service was lovely.

Sashimi was fairly average, and the cocktails were sweet but pleasantly so. The sushi and rolls were really delicious, although a bit pricey. The food was so good that I definitely want to come back again someday.

Really enjoyed my lunch here! Firstly, the service was great and efficient. Secondly, the food was amazing. I had the Myddelton Bento with Hojicha! The sashimi was fresh and delicious, and I loved the rock shrimp tempura! The tea was comforting and I like the design of the teapot. Lastly, the interior is elegant and lovely. I felt that SASA is one of the best Japanese restaurants I have been to in London! I will definitely come back to try their dinner menu:)

I had a lovely time at Banana Tree. It’s halal! I go uni near here and have gone 3 times already, and the food has never disappointed. Today, I got their limited edition Lamb Rendang, and it was beautiful. Aromatic and opens with a comforting warmth. I honestly hope they make it a permanent option in their menu!! I want it everyday. I also always get the Bang Bang Broccoli, just a standard as if it were a water 😭 Service is also really nice!! They check up on you and tend to you often. Make sure you sign up for their offers! They have a £15 off voucher when you spend £30 or more!! My entire meal came to £19 (£21.38 inc service charge) Guys just go here kasmeh bruh

Not as busy and didn't have the hectic rumble of other Banana Trees. So the food came quickly and efficiently. Alex our service provider was funny and charming. Had good banter and made good recommendations. The atmosphere was chilled and I wasn't in a rush to eat even with the 90 mins time for the "Bottomless Bowl". I would highly recommend and it's only 5 mins away from Angel station.

My first visit at this place. Been welcomed by a staff member and a manager who seated me while she could as it was a little busy. She was very polite and friendly. I ordered tofu laksa and I asked for no aubergine inside as I don’t like it. The soup was full of flour and spicy but I been warned and I was aware of it as well but I don’t mind spices. I been asked if I am allergic to anything and also the special lunch offer was presented to me and I could have free soft drink. The decor is nice and cozy. I paid 12.32£ which I think is reasonable. The wait for the food wasn’t long at all. Thanks.

I recently have visited Tortilla Islington 3 times. Each time I had a very good experience. The team members were friendly and helpful, big thanks to Raj and Umang who served me 2 times and were going above and beyond. They offered me to download the app so I could collect the points on my way to free meal. The manager is very helpful and friendly too, we spoked few times and she makes everyone feel very welcomed. The food is very delicious. Full of flavour and ingredients are fresh. The place is clean and there is a nice Mexican vibe. I will be visiting regularly, definitely! I can recommend this spot 100%! Thanks!

Was my first time trying Mexican food, and I was blown away. The food was so flavourful and the staff so helpful. They guided me on how to order and was very helpful with suggesting what I’d like according to my preference. The portion size was also great. I went for the medium chicken asado bowl and they filled it to the brim. They also don’t skip on the toppings and you can ask for more. I couldn’t finish the medium bowl at once, so I would say the portion size was good and really filling. I personally enjoyed it so much I got it 2 days in a row!! Also if you’re a student, the app has great deals for you. Overall, I had a great experience and definitely enjoyed my first Mexican meal. Definitely recommend.

Easy and friendly place when you need a quick and healthy meal. I had the burrito with Mexican rice, roasted vegetables, guacamole and cheese sauce. I was with my daughter who is vegetarian and she had a vegetarian burrito which tasted great. We also had tortilla chips, delicious. Portion sizes were generous and the service was quick. Friendly staff, Stephanie explained all the choices and gave some recommendations. The place was clean and looked very efficient as we ate and watched people come and go. Definitely recommend this place for its tasty food and friendly service.

I had a great experience at the tortilla restaurant. The food was fresh, tasty, and served quickly. The tortillas were warm and full of flavour, and the ingredients tasted really fresh. Abdul gave excellent service — he was very friendly, helpful, and made sure everything was perfect for us. His positive attitude made the visit even better. Me and my wife Mary met her brother and sister in law first time that we have been to the Angelic and it's a great place to go food is fantastic and great value for money for a bar in Central London staff are so helpful and friendly and great atmosphere and dog friendly so if you are in the area and out with family and friends do try to visit the Angelic bar as I know that you will have a wonderful time as we are planning to visit again very soon

One of the best pubs I've been in UK! Amazing staff, super food, very nice decoration! The people who work there are amazing, super helpful,very easy going and funny! We tried veggie roasty, fish and chips burger and desserts! We loved everything and super lucky to have our last lunch in UK before leaving :)

I came here for a pre birthday celebration. James was our server and by god he was great, he ran the whole upstairs by himself. Completely attentive and really approachable. Couldn’t rave about him anymore. Food was delicious - I had roast beef and then sticky toffee pudding. Everyone I was with said the exact same thing. I really like the angelic great pub and big shout out to James! Smashed it x

Used to be a lot more cosy and nice, but still a decent pub in the area even if more noisy than it used to be. Best thing about it is the toilets and the little fountain they have. Worth popping in and staying if it’s quiet, otherwise it’s worth moving on somewhere else.

not the best pho i’ve had but their lunchboxes are the shining star here. they are super affordable, £9 for a small box and £11 for a medium. (they also have a large box but i’m not sure of the price). you get rice or noodles, vegetables, and a topping. there were so many options like chicken satay, a hot&chili chicken, and roast pork. however, they’re only open 11-3 during the week so it’s obviously perfect for a quick lunch if you’re already in the area but inconvenient if you’re simply craving it on a random day.

Best Chicken Pho in the Angel area. It's worth the £9.5 takeaway price. There are also lots of other Asian food options for lunch for dining in or take away.

So we only live down the road & always miss this place as it’s only open Mon-Fri (we work weekdays) but really wanting to try it! We finally got the chance today & we weren’t disappointed at all. The customer service was 10/10! We mentioned it was our first time & was told we could have a mixture of rice & noodles with either (£6.50 small box - 1 topping) or (£9 medium box - 2 toppings)! We got one of each size, let me tell you it was great value off money. We got the Malaysian Chicken Curry, Roast Pork & Hot & Chilli Chicken. 2 x Chicken Spring Rolls & 3 x Fried Fish! Everything was AMAZING! Definitely recommend this place and will be coming back very soon! Looking forward to the summer selections 😁
