Classic fine dining restaurant in the heart of Islington. An incredibly stylish interior, conservatory with glass roof and garden area which is stunning on a sunny day. The service is excellent and the food is excellent exceptional. British cuisine at its finest.

We held a small wedding gathering at The club Room at the end of February, and we are very grateful to Andreea for her thoughtful planning and communication. Everything went smoothly, and the restaurant even has a lovely small garden outside, perfect for photos. With the sunny weather, everything was absolutely perfect!

Service started off slow but quickly recovered after 12 minutes. Can't go wrong with the duck breast. Cooked to near perfection with potato rosti and green beans. I assume reservations are required since the place was packed.

Good modern European food. Clean and classic dishes for those not looking for surprises . No 'point of difference' as Marcus Waering would look for Service was great, staff were very attentive and friendly. My husband was dressed in black and the white table napkin left lint on his trousers. They quickly swapped out for black napkins AND brought out a lint roller which sorted the issue. Loved the opportunity for sheltered alfresco dining in their outdoor area on a warm spring evening. A bit pricey for what it was but an enjoyable meal experience given the rarity of comfortable outdoor dining in London. Also, great pescatarian options. I had lots of choice from the menu.

Frederick’s is such a lovely spot near Angel’s antique market. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, with lots of greenery and a relaxed vibe. We tried the Angus beef tartare, which was super fresh, and the chargrilled lamb neck, which was so tender and full of flavor. The sticky toffee pudding was the perfect way to end the meal. The service was friendly, and the cocktails were great too. It’s a perfect place for a date night or a nice dinner with friends. Definitely coming back!

I went here with my family for a Sunday Roast after we saw there was new management. The roasts were delicious and of a proper size! There were even vegan and vegetarian roast options which did not hold back- the roast parsnip was a personal favourite. The bar staff were super friendly and helpful with our young child, and the building had obviously just had a refresh as it was decorated tastefully with flowers on the tables. Would definitely return!

Lovely neighbourhood pub with lots of food and drinks options. We had the burger and Sunday roast, which was fab! Love the portions and the friendly service. I recommend the Sunday road mix for the meat lovers and the veggie option for the vegetable enthusiasts.

Spent my Saturday evening here. Was spectacular with such hard working bar staff, someone who really stood out to me was a lady named Chloe. She was extremely attentive to us and extremely pleasant. What a lovely addition to have to your team! The food was spectacular, I honestly can’t rate this pub enough. I will be back every weekend thanks to this great customer service which you tend to get anymore. Go the Islington Townhouse Pub!!!

Spacious clean pub in a convenient location. They were kind enough to put on the Football, was a little surprised it wasn't playing on super Sunday. Sunday roasts post lots of options and the chicken I had was quite good. The staff was friendly and the manager knew more than a thing or two about cask ales. The upstairs was bustling, lots of people coming in and out to enjoy a boozy Sunday, but it had no real impact on the calmer downstairs environment. I was with my little one and we had a great time. Overall a nice spot to catch as pint, a match or a meal.

Incredible little pub. Went to watch the Arsenal parade and was so happy that we booked a table for after. The vibe was impeccable, the team were so accommodating and really made our night. The scotch egg and sausage roll were some of the best I've had. Didn't know they had a roof terrace but it was gorgeous. Will definitely be coming back to this gem of a pub! Thanks team!

I went to The Castle in Angel today for Sunday Roast and it was such a lovely experience! The food was delicious, perfectly cooked, and the atmosphere really cozy. A special mention to Reece, our waiter, he was incredibly kind, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Definitely recommend this place and will be back for sure!

Had such a lovely time at The Castle in Angel. The garden is honestly one of the best parts of the place, super cozy, beautiful atmosphere. Also a special thank you to Erika, who was absolutely amazing. She was so warm, attentive, and welcoming, and really made the whole experience feel extra special. Her energy and kindness genuinely stand out. Will definitely be coming back!

had a great meal at the castle! all of it tasted amazing and the service was good. the food took a bit longer to come out than i would’ve liked but it wasn’t majorly bad and it all tasted superb. it was quiet in there but there was music on at a good level so i enjoyed the atmosphere. would recommend and would return!

I always have great experience in chilango. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We always have little chat with them. Andre and Ravi (I am sorry if I spelled that wrong) are great. The place was clean and tidy. The food was super delicious. I had vegan chicken which was tasty. My bowl was full of flavour, sauce and perfect portion size. Second time I got burrito and it was just amazing! Full of flavour, very big portion! Definitely will be coming back! I can highly recommend this place! Thanks team!

I was tempted to give the food a 4 because of the limited vegan options. But that wouldn’t be fair as it’s not a vegan restaurant and there are sufficient options. Besides the taste and quality is excellent as well as super filling. This was my first time and the staff were great at explaining the process and options. It is fun and reassuring to watch them prepare your meal and be asked what you want included; an anxious vegans’ dream. The decor is super colourful and fun. My only critique of the atmosphere was the music was really loud; which was a little much during the day while the restaurant wasn’t full. Great Latin vibe though. A fantastic experience and I will come again.

I've been coming here for years and the quality and portion size of the burrito have been consistent (ly high). The Wi-Fi isn't great but if you hot spot, you can work here for hours eating delicious food. 😀

I almost don’t want too many people knowing about this place because it’s that good. Family run restaurant but the decor and service is quite high end. My personal favourite Japanese restaurant in London. Their rainbow rolls, scallop (delicious combo with nori and fish roe) are a must have! Tempura is also very crispy. Must order their beef sushi roll its also a delight, the crisp and the softness mixed together.

Can not recommend enough their Crunchy Tuna roll. My friends and I also had the Rainbow, Volcano and Wagyu Nigiri roll and we loved all of them. Prices were not too bad and the atmosphere and service was lovely.

Really enjoyed my lunch here! Firstly, the service was great and efficient. Secondly, the food was amazing. I had the Myddelton Bento with Hojicha! The sashimi was fresh and delicious, and I loved the rock shrimp tempura! The tea was comforting and I like the design of the teapot. Lastly, the interior is elegant and lovely. I felt that SASA is one of the best Japanese restaurants I have been to in London! I will definitely come back to try their dinner menu:)

This is probably our new favourite sushi spot and so happy we finally came to try it. The crunchy tuna roll is so good, definitely recommend. The fish were all so fresh. We also got the SASA set, which comes with the spider roll, 6 nigiris and sashimi. Such good value and was well made. We ended with the basque cheesecake, which we didn’t expect much from, but it was very good. Not too heavy and a nice way to end our meal. Definitely recommend giving this place a try.

We had such a genuinely lovely time, the service was great, staff were friendly and food was fast. 💨🍸☕️ The seared set and seared salmon ume were absolute highlights, full of flavour without being heavy. The fish tasted incredibly fresh, and you could really tell the quality straight away. 🍣 🍣🍣 We also tried some of the hot food options and honestly, they were just as good as the sushi! Great wine list! 🍤 🍆 🍢🫛 We tried the melon liqueur! 🍈🧡 It was a fun little surprise! super refreshing and easy to drink and really well with the seared set. Definitely recommend going with friends! 👯‍♀️👯‍♀️👬🏼

I had such a lovely experience at this restaurant in Angel, I can’t recommend it enough! The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the chicken Pad Thai and it was full of flavor, perfectly balanced, fresh, and super satisfying. You can really tell care goes into the dishes here. The staff were kind and attentive, and Emese in particular went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. It genuinely made the whole experience even better. Also, a huge bonus: it’s dog-friendly. My pup was able to relax while I enjoyed my meal, which is always such a plus. Highly recommend if you’re in the Angel area

Matcha Noodles Surprise at Banana Tree Islington I recently visited Banana Tree Islington for the Big Noodle Takeover, and it was such a fun and tasty experience! This spot really delivers bold Asian flavours with generous portions, perfect for sharing with a friend. The matcha coconut curry noodles were a standout. We had the vegan tofu version, and it gave Japanese tamagoyaki vibes: soft, slightly sweet, and so satisfying. Rich, creamy, and unexpectedly delicious, they almost feel like a twist on pasta! The chicken pad thai was tender and full of flavour with generous chunks of tasty chicken breast. The giant prawn crackers were light, crispy, and addictive, making the perfect start to the meal. Desserts didn’t disappoint either. We had banana fritters with chocolate & caramel sauce and ice cream, plus a chocolate‑miso‑style sweet. The banana fritters were amazing! I was skeptical at first but the supervisor Sandeed said this was his favourite! It was super crispy/crunchy, and delicious with the chocolate sauce and ice cream! Huge shout‑out to the staff, especially Sandeep, who made sure everything ran smoothly. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. The place is spacious, nice environment with a lot of greenery (not real tho) the crowd was pleasant. Clean toilets. If you’re after bold, comforting Asian flavours, generous portions, and a friendly vibe, Banana Tree Islington is a must‑try.

Not as busy and didn't have the hectic rumble of other Banana Trees. So the food came quickly and efficiently. Alex our service provider was funny and charming. Had good banter and made good recommendations. The atmosphere was chilled and I wasn't in a rush to eat even with the 90 mins time for the "Bottomless Bowl". I would highly recommend and it's only 5 mins away from Angel station.

This was my first visit here and I would give the food 10/10 especially for the mains. Loved the noodle bowls!! The season's special mango-chicken noodles was amazing and if you like it spicy ask for their homemade sauces. The lychee-martini was the best I had and they do an amazing 2 for 1 cocktail deal throughout the week. They could have done better with the soya eggs as starter by adding some herbs, spring onions and chillies the traditional way but, otherwise the food was fresh and delicious.

Easy and friendly place when you need a quick and healthy meal. I had the burrito with Mexican rice, roasted vegetables, guacamole and cheese sauce. I was with my daughter who is vegetarian and she had a vegetarian burrito which tasted great. We also had tortilla chips, delicious. Portion sizes were generous and the service was quick. Friendly staff, Stephanie explained all the choices and gave some recommendations. The place was clean and looked very efficient as we ate and watched people come and go. Definitely recommend this place for its tasty food and friendly service.

Was my first time trying Mexican food, and I was blown away. The food was so flavourful and the staff so helpful. They guided me on how to order and was very helpful with suggesting what I’d like according to my preference. The portion size was also great. I went for the medium chicken asado bowl and they filled it to the brim. They also don’t skip on the toppings and you can ask for more. I couldn’t finish the medium bowl at once, so I would say the portion size was good and really filling. I personally enjoyed it so much I got it 2 days in a row!! Also if you’re a student, the app has great deals for you. Overall, I had a great experience and definitely enjoyed my first Mexican meal. Definitely recommend.

Me and my wife Mary met her brother and sister in law first time that we have been to the Angelic and it's a great place to go food is fantastic and great value for money for a bar in Central London staff are so helpful and friendly and great atmosphere and dog friendly so if you are in the area and out with family and friends do try to visit the Angelic bar as I know that you will have a wonderful time as we are planning to visit again very soon

Nice pub just a short walk from Angel Station. It’s a reasonably large space, split across two floors, and with some good outdoor seating space for nice summer day. They have a good selection of beers on tap, and they serve classic pub food, all pretty good. It is a good place some fish and chips on a Friday, or Sunday roast. The service is nice and friendly, making the a very nice place to frequent.

This is a beautiful local pub in brilliant location.we had a great lunch- well cooked,fair prices( I recommend the fish finger brioche) and spent a nice afternoon watching the racing.Good wine list and beer and ciders.Lovely private room to hire upstairs too.Thanks to Keira and Katie for looking after us. UPDATE! what a shame the owners have decided to rename the Angelic which was such a great name- I know the pub was originally called George1V but there are enough similarly named pubs -The Angelic was cool.

Highly recommend this lovely restaurant. All the dishes we ordered were delicious, plentiful & well presented. And the staff were very accommodating in substituting items on their shareable platters. There are several options for vegetarians - the Three Mush-Kuteers is a must try for those that love mushrooms.
