5 Star Rating Above and beyond! A huge thank you to Victor and Blessing. My husband and I stayed at the Mal in London on a Sunday evening before the Christmas holiday. The room was lovely and the service was excellent. Unfortunately, I became quite ill early on Monday morning when we were to check out. We were offered a very late check out to accommodate our needs and assured we could stay in the room another night if I was unable to travel. Luckily, I was able to travel by 2:00 pm. The excellent service and kind words that Blessing and Victor offered us made a very challenging situation much easier. The location was fabulous, only a few minutes walk from the Elizabeth Line. The area is especially peaceful at night. Our room overlooked the Charterhouse. Everything you might need including coffee shops and restaurants are only a short walk from the Square. We will definitely return to this Malmaison!

5 Star Rating My wife and I stayed overnight at the Malmaison in London last Sunday. She became very ill the morning we were checking out. The staff - especially Blessing - were spectacular. She was kind and understanding allowing us to extend our checkout time. Thankfully, my wife was able to recover enough for us to leave later in day. Forever grateful for the support and generosity we received. The hotel and our room were lovely. It is in an excellent location in London as well - very convenient with the Elisabeth line tube station a short distance away and you’re spoiled for choice regarding eateries, bakeries and coffee shops. We will definitely be returning!

4 Star Rating Overall, a very 4-night comfortable stay. Customer service was pleasant. Room was clean, functional and comfy. Wi-fi was strong and no problems. Enjoyed the complimentary water. Location is okay and near tube stations to get around the city. Lost a star because of the late night loudness. Woken up every day at 0500 as someone was messing with the rubbish bins, and also housekeeping getting ready for the day. Also, HVAC system is very loud and the little radiator didn't quite keep me warm on the cold winter nights. Other than that, hotel very quiet. Restaurant was okay, but plenty of eateries nearby.

5 Star Rating I visited St Johns because I volunteer at the Spitalfields City Farm, where I know the restaurant sources some of its produce from. I had also read lots of good reviews about their food, and I can happily say that all the positive reviewer are correct. The food here is incredible! The dishes are simple but you can tell the care and intention that has gone into sourcing quality ingredients and cooking them with precision. Their vegetarian menu is not expansive but we tried pretty much all the veggie dishes they had, and I loved every single one of them. All the dishes look to celebrate the flavour and texture of the vegetables so the seasoning is light and designed very much to complement the produce, rather than overpower it. My favorite was their side cabbage greens - it was cooked to perfection, with the most subtle but delectable buttery dressing. Their desert menu was very impressive. We had their chocolate cake which was very delicious - perhaps one of the best ones I’ve had. They also brought out complimentary madeleines which we had with some coffees To finish it all off, the service was also very good. All the staff were friendly, kind and precessional. I would very much like to come here again, and also try the other branches of St Johns.

4 Star Rating Anthony Bourdain’s London favorite. The restaurant that popularized nose-to-tail dining, St. JOHN is an institution in London. I’d been meaning to go for a while, and my eventual visit did not disappoint. Great, simple food gives reason as to why English food shouldn’t be written quickly. Would recommend it to a friend, and I would definitely go again. Highlights • Roast Bone Marrow and Parsley Salad: Maybe the most famous dish here, I fully blame it for the rising cost of bone marrow. A great example on how simple, high-quality ingredients can produce exceptional results. The parsley salad adds a great freshness to the plate, very well balanced • Potted Beef: The best dish of the day. The beef was perfectly seasoned: a bit sweet, a bit smoky, well cooked and very umami. Tasted like slightly sweet birria, so good we ordered it twice • Abbey’s Chocolate Cake: I love chocolate, and this cake was a chocolate lover’s dream. Rich, decadent, dark and covered in ganache. One of the best chocolate cakes I’ve ever had • The Restaurant itself: St. JOHN thrives on the beauty of simplicity. From its decorations to its menus to its dishes, the restaurant delivers a high-class experience with all the humility of a simple english farmer. Recommended for date nights Lowlights: • Mylor Prawns and Aioli: We found the prawns and aioli combination to be a bit harsh and overpowering, and the prawns themselves didn’t have much meat. One of the few misses of the night • Rollright, Pink Fir and Spring Onion: This dish was just cheese, onions and potato. Simplicity can be good, but in the case of this dish it was just too simple and boring

5 Star Rating Really memorable dining experience! Everything I had was unique for me. I got the bone marrow toast which I really liked - salty, savory, fresh with the greens. The bread is fantastic. I also got the ox liver, onions, and beets and horseradish. The liver was like a slightly tough steak but without any gristle or fat. It is rich and creamy. I liked it! The horseradish was not overly strong, I think I’d prefer a little sharper. The onions added some pop, which was needed cause beets are generally quite muted flavorwise. I also got the Madelines and a decaf espresso, which was a tasty pairing! On their own the Madelines are a bit uninspired so the coffee adds a strong counter. The service was very good! I didn’t have a reservation but it was easy right after lunch hour on a weekday in January. I love what they’re doing there overall - innovative and unpretentious!

3 Star Rating They say good things come to those who wait. After waiting a few weeks for our booking, we were however hoping the experience would be a little better than just good. But good, was as good as it got. The venue is tastefully stylish, and not too pretentious, which it turned out was the opposite of the service, which at times bordered on the slightly aloof. The food was good, the welsh rarebit tasty and packin a flavour bomb to hit your taste buds. The beetroot, boiled egg and anchovy salad was a favourite for the way the opposing flavours somehow felt like they’ve always belonged together. The special was faggots in a chicken pea stew that promised deep rich flavours but underwhelmed in its regularity. Overall the experience was enjoyably good, but we were left hoping it would have been a great one.

5 Star Rating My partner secretly booked this restaurant for my birthday, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The staff were so welcoming and knowledgeable, which made us feel truly taken care of. We chose the full set menu with wine pairing, and every dish was incredible. As a French person, I can be a bit critical when it comes to food (we French take it very seriously 😉), but here everything was simply perfect. One highlight for me was an artichoke dish by Chef Pascal, with just one bite, it brought me straight back to a childhood memory. It’s truly amazing when a chef can create food that evokes such deep emotions! We were also very grateful to the Chef and his team for taking the time to show us around the kitchen and share a moment with us. It made the evening feel even more special and memorable. I had the most wonderful birthday celebration here, and it’s an experience I’ll always remember. Thank you so much to the whole team!

5 Star Rating We had a wonderful evening at the Club Gascon on 7th August. The food is of an amazing standard complemented by original and unique presentations which really add to the whole culinary experience. Everyone of the dishes was delicious. The service was attentive, friendly and professional. The atmosphere was relaxed and sophisticated in a decor of impeccable standard. We really enjoyed everything about the evening, will definitely return and would recommend. We certainly feel that the price was very reasonable for the quality of this experience. 3 Star Rating We dined here, ordering the 3 course menu before a 730 concert at St. Paul’s cathedral. The reviews of this place were not as glowing as some other options a bit further away, but we opted for a place that was easily walkable. I’m giving 3 stars bc 1 star can seem hyperbolic but honestly as it relates to food, it was a beautifully plated one star. First the positives. Both our fish and duck were cooked perfectly. For first course Wife had the faux gras (walnut) and it was interesting on the first bite but mushy and not compelling after that. I got the other option and I’m not entirely sure what i got. Every single element of the creatively plated dish was unpleasant. The salty fingers were not pleasant alone and not treated with any technique to make them interesting (maybe pickling or candying them would have made them interesting). The other elements seemed to be some sort of root that was supposed to be a vehicle for the garnishes but the sauces were unpleasant. I tried them all as some different bite combination to try to find the interesting bite. I never found it. For the mains, I got the duck. The cook was perfect and the potatoes were great. The sauce on top was some sort of raspberry glaze that seemed about as complex as some $3 raspberry bbq sauce that I could get at a grocery store. The truly greatest flaw was in my wife’s fish/curry dish. My wife took one bite and commented that her mouth was entirely overwhelmed with salt. I tasted her fish and it was fine, so I tasted a piece with the curry surrounding it and that was the source of what seemed to be an entire box of salt. I’m not talking about just salted above preference, I’m talking about something that tastes like someone unscrewed the salt shaker top as a joke and the entire container was poured in. She could not enjoy anything after and picked around to try to salvage the other elements but left mostly unfinished. I don’t think we have ever sent a dish back but we joked that perhaps today was the day. We didn’t but when they were cleaning up, we did comment to the waiter that it was inedible. I think we expected them to taste the curry in the kitchen and realize that someone had made a serious error of proportion. But the service continued as if everything was perfect. Dessert was very delayed. (We had informed them the day prior of our time constraints and they assured us we would have plenty of time.) maybe there was some staff missing from the kitchen? Bc there was only one other table in the entire restaurant for the entire evening we were there. The desserts were fine but we rushed a few bites bc we had to leave and pay. Part of this trips goal for us was to eat great food, completely unhindered by price…and it was delightful with 5 Michelin restaurants and many others that seemed very close. This one restaurant will be memorable for all the wrong reasons. My wife and I still have funny flash backs to how surreal the experience was. Honestly the whole experience made us think we were possibly in a hidden camera reality show where horrible food comes out beautifully plated and the guests are recorded, trying to convince themselves that the food is good. And the show just escalates with worse and worse dishes coming out. There was just one other couple in the restaurant and it seemed entirely more plausible that it was a reality show than the dishes actually being this bad…by the way, I would totally watch that reality show if someone wants to steal my idea.

2 Star Rating For the price they charge, I would expect much better service. We had a dinner for my anniversary. I specified that, when booked the table, however no one greeted us for our celebration. We had 6 course tasting menu. Food was ok, but not more than that. Despite being a French restaurant, I sensed a lot of middle-eastern notes in spices and sauces. My wife did not touched the mushrooms, but no one asked her if she wants something else. I was almost running for the waitress to get the bill. After all that, 13.5% were included for the service fee. Don’t understand how restaurant with such service gets a Michelin star. Very disappointed. I am sure there are better venues in London

5 Star Rating Old Red Cow is a lovely pub tucked away on a quiet street not far from St. Paul’s Cathedral. We stopped by for some good beer and dinner — and we weren’t disappointed! The crowd seemed mostly local, with people chatting in pairs, which gave the place a warm and cozy vibe. It was pleasantly quiet and perfect for conversation. 5 Star Rating 🚇 Barbican 🍺 £6.70 Moretti ❤️ A brutalist Barbican boozer. The Shakespeare sits on a corner of a crescent of shops and flats at the front end of the Golden Lane Estate EC1. The nearest Tube is Barbican which is only a two minute walk. The Shakespeare was built in 1964 and is Grade II listed. The name is inspired by the Bard himself, who lived some hundred metres away throughout his time in London. The is a one bar pub with a comedy club in the basement. The bar is set out in almost a “H” shape with the servery on the left hand side as you walk in. Even though this pub is traditionally decorated, due to the architecture of the building it does feel modern in here. The seating is a mix of elongated leatherette banquettes, a few poser tables and traditional tables and chairs. Around the walls are gold framed Elizabethan era repro portraits, mirrors and chalkboards with promotions. The beer choice was a straightforward selection of keg beers and ciders. I opted for a Moretti, decent enough pint but a bit pricey for this lager. There is a simple eclectic food menu comprising of Burgers, pasta and Toasties, a Ham & Cheese Toastie cost £5.95. I arrived around 4.30pm on a sunny Friday afternoon in July. The pub was fairly quiet as Fridays in the city are not as busy as they once was. There were a few punters sat inside, the majority were sat outside enjoying the summer sun and watching the world go by. The service here was excellent, the Guvnor is a bit of a character, he was jovial and set an upbeat tone. @theshakespearebarbican is not the most handsome of boozers you’ll come across and almost has an estate pub feel. I enjoyed my visit here primarily due to the pub’s location and sitting outside watching the comings and goings around the Barbican. This pub is worth a look of you’re in the area. ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 07.07.23

5 Star Rating This was our choice of a dinner venue after visiting The Piano works. It is a small intimate restaurant and wine bar which was busy, but still had a nice relaxed feel about it. We enjoyed an excellent bottle of Rose wine and several dishes from the very interesting menu. The food lends itself to being enjoyed as a sharing type meal similar to tapas. The Venison meatballs were outstanding. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed everything we ate. A little gem of a wine bar.

5 Star Rating Wow! From my very first contact with Vinoteca to walking out the door after an amazing lunch, the service from Leon, Ludovic and the team at Vinoteca Farringdon was absolutely first-class. We were a group of 13 celebrating a special occasion and had the private dining room downstairs, along with the Chef’s Menu. Every email was answered quickly and helpfully in advance, and on arrival, the room had been set up beautifully. At a time when eating out in London can be expensive and often disappointing, this was the complete opposite. The food, service, and atmosphere were exceptional — one of our group even said it was the best meal out they’ve had in ages, and I completely agree. Thank you to everyone at Vinoteca Farringdon — I honestly can’t recommend you highly enough!

3 Star Rating We visited for a friend’s birthday and the evening began very positively. Our waiter, Gow, was excellent. He was warm, witty, and explained everything clearly, which made us feel comfortable and set a great tone for the experience. The food was also very good, creative and full of flavour. The concept itself is unique and engaging. However, there was one interaction that significantly affected my experience. While a staff member was singing around, I recognised one of the songs and joined in for a moment. The staff member who was singing stopped abruptly and said, “I don’t know what’s wrong with that lady.” Although I cannot be completely certain the comment was directed at me due to the darkness, I was left feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable for the rest of the evening. It was never my intention to disrupt anything. I was enjoying the atmosphere and felt immersed in the moment. Unfortunately, that interaction changed what had been a joyful celebration into something that felt humiliating and disheartening, and I left feeling quite upset. The food and our waiter’s service were genuinely very good. The experience was overshadowed by one moment that could have been handled more thoughtfully.

2 Star Rating i recently dined here, and found the experience to be more of a concept driven than cuisine driven. The service was perfectly fine and the staff handled the dark professionally, however beyond the novelty of dining in complete darkness the overall atmosphere felt somewhat flat. Unfortunately the food itself was underwhelming, and the dishes lacked texture and depth of flavour and the courses seemed to blur into the next without any clear distinction. While the idea behind the restaurant is certainly intriguing, the execution - at least from a culinary perspective, didn’t quite live up to expectations. All 3 of us left very disappointed.

5 Star Rating We brought our kids (7&9) and we all had a wonderful experience. The hosts were helpful, and helped make the dark a fun adventure rather than scary for our kids. The food was delicious, although the flavors were a bit too complex for the children. The whole experience takes time, and can't really be rushed. We took almost 2.5 hours for two courses, so make sure you budget more if you want dessert or to linger after. We are looking forward to going back!

5 Star Rating This was my first time experiencing a dining-in-the-dark restaurant, and it also happened to be a birthday celebration, which made it even more special. The entire experience felt fresh, unique, and surprisingly enjoyable. Our guide and server, Michael, was extremely professional and reassuring. His clear guidance helped ease any initial fear or discomfort of dining in complete darkness, allowing us to relax and fully immerse ourselves in the experience. The quality of the food was excellent, and dining in the dark created a unique opportunity to focus purely on flavors and textures. It was also interesting and enjoyable to interact with others in the darkness, which added an unexpected social element to the evening. What truly surprised us was how time passed so quickly when we were fully focused on the food and conversation. It was a genuinely pleasant, memorable, and highly satisfying dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for something different and meaningful.

5 Star Rating We arrived without reservation on a busy Thursday evening, around 7:30pm. We dined on the fourth floor and whilst the had a number of large corporate tables, they were able to squeeze us in. There is a sommelier on hand, walking the floor to help with any wine selections. We chose their recommendations and had a mixture of seafood and meat dishes. The starters were delicate and full of complex flavours. For mains, side dish’s are needed. The cabbage and spinach were delicious, with the triple cooked chips being light and fluffy.

3 Star Rating Smiths of Smithfield had good food, but poor service and a busy atmosphere. Upon arrival, we were seated and waited 15+ minutes for a server to come to us to order drinks or food. When we were first approached, we asked for a specific bottle of wine and were told we could not order the bottle through the waitress but had to wait for the sommelier (despite knowing what we wanted). We waited another 5-10 minutes until she came and we were able to order. Then a few more minutes for the server to come take our order. We were seated at least 20 minutes total before we were helped with anything. The starters were good - the steak tartare, oysters, and scallops were all tasty. We ordered the t-bone and chateaubriand both medium rare, but I much preferred the t-bone, though it was cut with so much meat left on the bone. The ox cheek mash was the highlight of the meal. Overall, the service was unfortunately what left me wanting more. Between the long waits & asking the waitress for more water twice (and never receiving it), we were disappointed. The place was very noisy, which I am not accustomed to for a “steakhouse”. At the end, after ordering over 600 pounds worth of food, we went to order dessert and they were out of what we wanted. When we asked to modify the ice cream flavor on a second dessert, the waitress said it was just “too busy to ask the servers to change something”. After paying so much, I would really have appreciated simply changing out an ice cream flavor, but that wasn’t provided.

4 Star Rating Had a lovely meal at Smiths of Smithfield. Went with a group of four and we ordered a decent amount of dishes: steak tartare, smoked salmon, scallops, oysters, beef cheek mash, the T-bone steak, and the Chateaubriand. Everything was delicious. Out of the starters my favorite was the beef tartare. Both of the steaks were great but I leaned more towards the T-bone. Lastly, the beef cheek mash was amazing. I highly recommend you order it.

5 Star Rating I was very satisfied with the restaurant and strongly recommend it! For a starter, I had a Smoked salmon, devon crab, fennel, orange, brown crab mayo, salmon roe which was delicious! I never tried the combination of orange and salmon before, it was a very successful combination. For main dish, I had 9oz Dairy Cow sirloin, watercress, pickled shallots, ox cheek gravy, truffle chips. Very tasty and very generous portion! For dessert, I had Dark chocolate & cherry gâteaux, sour cherry ice cream, which was great too! The atmosphere was very cozy with low to moderate noise and the service was excellent!

5 Star Rating Perfect place to go for a pint after work. It’s usually pretty heaving in there on a Thursday from 5pm so would definitely recommend booking a table online. Good seating downstairs as well and the pizza is actually pretty banging, and I say this as someone who was recently in New York. My only minor critique is the music is too loud. When there’s already loads of people in there I don’t necessarily see the point of blasting the music even louder since you basically just end up shouting to hear people, but tbh this is a problem in just about every London pub. Other than that - all good I’ll definitely keep coming here.

5 Star Rating This is a lucky find on a quiet road near the busy Farringdon Station. I was seriously impressed with the pizza here! Service is lovely, bit slow.. but totally understandable. I am coming back again. Must try if you sceptical 👍🏻🫶🏻

4 Star Rating Lovely pub in a nice area of town, great music and various line ups all the time. Nice selection of drinks and the Guinness was OK but it was £7.45 a pint, one of the dearest around town but the pizza's are very tasty and are very reasonable priced. Definitely worth a visit if your drinking around that area.

5 Star Rating We recently had the privilege to shoot a wedding reception in this beautiful central London space and its honestly such a great option for a London wedding reception. Location is of course impeccable, but the space itself was absolutely beautiful and the food excellent and varied. Perfect for couples wanting a London wedding!

5 Star Rating We got married here in June 2023 and couldn't be happier with our venue choice. The entire planning process was very smooth due to the very helpful Matilda who was a huge help in making sure our wedding planning was stress-free and our day was perfect. The venue is the perfect location for a London wedding as the streets are very quiet at the weekends meaning our guests could all enjoy drinks outside and we could get some fantastic photos without hardly anyone around at all. The food was a stand out part of our day, with countless guests telling us it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding! The menu options are great and we could not fault the food at all. Overall we had a great experience at Balfour St Barts and could not recommend it enough as a wedding venue!

4 Star Rating This bar/restaurant is beautiful on the inside, draped in fairy lights and new, comfortable furniture throughout. They have an extensive wines list (on the more expensive side) which is great if you want to try something new, alongside a gin menu. I attended an open mic on a Monday night and got to see so many talented performers so it was a lot of fun! ✨
