We had a pleasant stay at Thistle Hotel Hyde Park Kensington Gardens. Hassan at the front desk was exceptionally friendly and helpful, which made a great first impression. The room was comfortable and clean, with everything we needed for a short stay.
The buffet breakfast offered a good variety of food, and we enjoyed the quality overall. However, we did notice that some of the cups at the coffee machine appeared to have coffee residue even after being washed, which could be improved.
One big plus is the convenience of having a market located right under the hotel in the petrol station—perfect for quick snacks or essentials.
Overall, we were happy with our stay and would recommend this hotel to others visiting the area.

We stayed at the Thistle Kensington overnight for our anniversary, right from our very first interaction, the staff were really friendly and helpful. We arrived 3 hours before check in, to ask if they would mind us leaving our bags, they said our room was actually ready now and we could check in early! Which was amazing, as we weren’t expecting this! The room was a standard double, but it was lovely, really clean and a very comfy bed, TV, everything we needed and a nice touch with some glass bottles of water, kettle tea coffee etc.
We paid extra (£15 each) for the morning buffet breakfast, it was really busy when we arrived down there in the morning, there was a decent amount of choice, though I wouldn’t say it was anything special, it was still nice. Overall a great experience and special mention to how helpful and friendly the staff were; thank you! Would stay again!

A delightful little gem that feels both charming and welcoming. While the hotel itself is great, it is the exceptional friendliness and attentiveness of the staff that elevates it to fantastic.
The rooms are well-maintained, clean, and comfortable. They strike the perfect balance between functionality and style, offering everything needed for a pleasant stay.
Breakfast is another highlight, with a wide variety of delicious options. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty traditional breakfast or something lighter, the offerings are fresh, plentiful, and delicious, ensuring a fantastic start to the day.
Overall, the Thistle Kensington is a highly recommend!

Have been coming to this hotel repeatedly and here are my views :
This location of this hotel is excellent, housekeeping team is going great job so you will find clean rooms here .excellent seating area On the first floor.
What I did not like is the following:
Reception man in check in should be train to meet customer requests for the room ex : connection, floor , not only hand the key and say to the customer we are full and this is all that we have.
Despite the beautiful seating area and the amazing staff I don’t know the reason of choosing to choose the news channel for the tv for a place that should be relaxing for people on holiday and not interested in hearing world news.

A special thank you for your incredibly warm welcom! Many thanks PELIN ❤️ for your kindness, bright smile and attentiveness that truly made all the difference and we will keep such wonderful memories of our time in London thanks to you.
My daughter absolutely keeps talking about how lovely you were with her. It really touched us both and made our stay even more special.
Thank you again and we hope to see you again on a future visit!

We came here as a group of seven and had a great time. The roast duck was the highlight – tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The barbecued pork and crispy pork were just standard, nothing to rave about, but decent. The atmosphere was quite plain, and honestly, it hasn’t changed much – I ate here 20 years ago and it still looks pretty much the same. Prices were friendly, making it a good option for a casual group meal.

The original branch of Four Seasons Roast Duck in central London is renowned for its succulent and juicy roast duck. The duck pairs perfectly with pickled vegetables and chili oil, served alongside steaming hot rice for a satisfying meal.
The roast duck features a crispy skin with a generous layer of fat. The stir-fried vegetables are delicious and offer a nice variety. However, the price of plain rice is slightly on the higher side.
The owner and staff provide excellent service, making for a pleasant dining experience overall.

Real old school Chinese food. I've travelled from east london and I am not disappointed. I wish I came with a bigger belly. I couldn't finish my 3 meat combination with noodles.
Value for money also. The only downfall is the decor of the place, however the food takes that all away, because its so delicious. Absolutely coming back and definitely recommend

A friend of mine recommended this place. I went here with my husband to have our lunch. We ordered half roasted duck (Cantonese style). And my husband said it was the best roasted duck he ever had in London ever. He loved it so much he ordered one more portion for himself. We also ordered the morning glory, it was also delicious. The place is cozy and the servers were very accommodating. And the toilets are very clean!!! I appreciate them for keeping the toiles clean and lovely.

We had to go & find out for ourselves if fourseasons was the ‘real deal’
or just another ‘influenced hype’.
What we had 👀:
S&S Chicken Hong Kong style - £14.30
Large Egg Fried Rice (no veg) - £11
Lobster With Crispy Noodles - £66
Chicken Chow Mein (no veg) - £12.80
Whole Special Roast Duck - £35.80
Barbecue Pork (char siu) - £15.20
Salt & Chilli Calamari - £17.50
Salt & Chilli Prawn - £17.50
Crispy Pork Belly - £15.20
Mini Spring Rolls - £7.80
Soft Shell Crab - £10.80
(Not including drinks or service charge)
What we thought 💭:
This spot has been hyped so much and we finally got to see why, this was hands down THE BEST roast duck, char siu & crispy belly pork we’ve had in London, I see why they’re famous for these 3 roast meats, 10 out of 10 in that department.
The sides were all spot on as-well. The rice, the chow-mein everything just tasted so fresh.
The salt and chilli prawns and calamari were 10/10.
The deep fried soft shell crab wasn’t for us, it was more to do with the texture of the crab rather than the actual taste, but the kids loved it 😅.
The whole lobster & noodles was okay, you do get a lot of meat in the lobster I’ll give them that, and a lot of noodles to share out, but we just wasn’t fond of the ginger & spring onion sauce it came in, I wish we chose one of the other options of sauce to have the lobster in. It wasn’t bad at all, it just became a bit overpowering after a while. But that was the sauce option recommended to us because we had kids, and the other options we were told, had a kick to them 🌶️. But it was still enjoyable and like I said the lobster was really meaty which was good.
We most definitely will be returning.
Four seasons is definitely a new family favourite.

Great pub with great food. Excellent atmosphere with good prices, there’s lots of seating options and they even have a pool table. Multiple screens showing different channels so you can watch what you want. Staff was very friendly and attentive, would love to come back to this place.

so we came here to eat the sunday roast and made a reservation to be sure to have it, but when we arrived and ordered they told us that it was all finished and it was barely 7.30 pm. so we had to order something else and waited more than half an hour for it but the pie was very delicious, as well as the sticky toffee pudding. the service was practically non present since we had to get our own drink and set our own table. the atmosphere although is typical but you must beware of pickpockets as a lady in the local told us.

Nice place. One of the only pubs I've been to that has a pool table. Just a pity that the barstaff wanted to talk on her phone instead of listening to my order that she got wrong.

Central London prices for pints do apply, but the staff here makes up for it by being both personable and fast. I have been coming here for months as competitors are inferior for lack of fun vibe.
I love coming here for the big games as they have a projector and 5 other TVs. Best for live sports in the area, especially football. I think they do poker nights a couple times a week, and they have a pool table too. Quickly becoming my local.
Please be nice to the staff, people tend to be aggressive during sporting events in England. A real great hangout for those that are happy to share the space.

Went there with 4 kids as it was close and reviews good, warrented - it's a relatively classic pub, a bit gentrified though due to the clientele I believe - that being said the kids got a ''real'' pub, Fish & Chips experience and loved it - the tables were kind of dirty, it was a bit noisy, you had to order at the bar - that being said the service was impeccable and the food very good &plenty. We reccomend as a family of 6 (kids 6-17)

I went to other pubs in London but I kept returning to this one. The staff, the pints, the food, the entertainment, and the atmosphere are all excellent. I was a tourist who met locals and made friends quickly. You seriously want to experience a real London pub, visit this one. This American will be back. PS, try the bangers.

Delicious traditional Chinese fare in a casual atmosphere. Service was efficient and friendly.
I ordered the pork dumplings, chef recommended chili chicken special (served cold, see photo), and a side of egg fried rice. Prices are steep for a Chinese restaurant, but I think this is typical in the UK.
I also ordered a dry martini, which tasted too sweet and as soon as I let the server know, she immediately took the item off the bill.
This place reminded me so much of a typical Cantonese style dim sum restaurant in New York Chinatown so there was a touch of sweet nostalgia for me.
All in all, I would come to this restaurant again and again!

Located on Queensway in Bayswater, the roasted meats at Gold Mine are must-orders, with the establishment offering a comforting, old-school Cantonese banquet-style setting. The menu is extensive, featuring a wide variety of dishes, including different meats, vegetarian options, and a special dumpling selection. The food quality was excellent, and every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious. We had Fried Calamari, Gold Mine Prawns, Steamed Eggs, Garlic Vegetables, Roasted Duck, and my favorite — the Crispy Shredded Duck Wraps.
Don’t forget to ask for chili oil 😋😋😋
The staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
If you’re a duck lover, this place is a must-visit when you’re in 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🦆🦆🦆

Gold Mine on Queensway is an absolute gem for Chinese cuisine lovers! Its location is incredibly convenient, just a short walk from Bayswater Station.
We had a booking for a Friday night but arrived slightly late due to traffic. The staff were understanding, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. From the outside, the restaurant may not seem that large, but it actually spans multiple levels. While the ground floor has a bustling atmosphere with closely arranged tables, there are also separate rooms for those looking for a more intimate setting. We were seated towards the inside of the restaurant, which offered a bit more privacy and made for a comfortable dining experience.
The atmosphere at Gold Mine is relaxed and casual—nothing overly fancy in terms of decor, but warm and inviting. The focus here is undoubtedly on the food.
The menu is extensive, offering a huge variety of dishes, including different meats, vegetarian options, and a special dumpling selection. The food quality was great, and every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious. We started with the spinach dumplings, pork dumplings, and turnip cakes from the special menu. The grilled turnip cakes were a standout—crispy on the outside, soft inside, and had an interesting taste. A must-try! The roasted duck was simply exceptional—perfectly crispy skin with juicy, tender meat. We initially ordered a quarter portion to sample it, but the team generously upgraded us to a half, which was a lovely surprise. The braised tofu stew was another highlight, rich and full of flavour, and the vermicelli were also pretty good. We paired our meal with delicate, light tea, which complemented the flavours beautifully.
Service was very good - attentive and impressively fast.
We had a lovely time and we will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!

The food was amazing. Very tasty.
It's a very large restaurant.
But the service is so and so...
Aafter we finished our main course, the waiter gave us the bill, without offering desert.
We felt like we were kicked out...
The bill was detailed only with the names of the dishes, but without the price of each one, only the total.

Nice place a short walk from Bayswater station.
I have come here for a lunar new year dinner the last two year, and the food has always been great.
As you’d expect, they have a huge selection and variety of dishes available, and I have never been disappointed eating here.
The service is nice enough; pretty much what you would expect – efficient and to the point.

It was a very cozy place, a bit outskirts of Notting Hill. The food was fascinating, and the service was great. I had such a lovely time at this restaurant today for lunch. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was exceptional.
A special mention to Charmaine, who took care of my table with such kindness and professionalism. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal.
The food was absolutely delicious! I had the spaghetti with meatballs, which was rich, comforting, and full of flavour. I was also treated to a free vegan Margherita pizza, which was a delightful surprise—light, fresh, and incredibly tasty. We had a wonderful dinner at Halepi — the atmosphere was truly charming, and the warm welcome made the experience even better.
We especially enjoyed chatting with Abbas, whose service was outstanding, and with Maria, the PhD student working in the kitchen. She was incredibly kind and shared that she’s expecting a baby in about two months — wishing her all the best!
The ambiance was lovely, and although the bill was on the higher side, the overall experience was absolutely worth it. A place definitely worth visiting!

Finally tried Halepi, and I wish I had found it sooner! I’ve lived in the area for a while and somehow never came across it, but I’m so glad I did. The Greek food was amazing, and the portions were really generous. The house Greek salad was so fresh, and the marinated tiger prawns were definitely a favorite. We tried a variety of dishes, and everything was great. The atmosphere is super cozy, which just makes the whole experience even better. I went there in an autumn wet day for lunch. Surprisingly, many tables are seated. Thought the ginger lobster noodles is a bit expensive compared to other dishes, it is worth trying. Staff are helpful, and hospitality. We ordered only two dishes, Ginger Lobster Noodles and Drunken Chicken, with a bowl of steamed rice. That is sufficient for a couple.

Restaurant is located near Hyde Park London. It was busy when we got there for dinner but they managed to get us a table. We have the popular ginger lobster noodle, roasted duck, asparagus in broth and hot and sour soup. We were wowed by the very flavourful lobster noodle. Duck was good but I the asparagus was a little bland for me. However I love the well balanced hot and sour soup. Highly recommend to those seeking for authentic Chinese food. The server is attentive and funny. Enjoyed the meal
