The perfect location! Where we stay every time we come to London. Close to the tube, the park, within walking distance from all the main attractions. Lovely! The rooms were clean upon arrival, the beds and pillows were so comfortable. The hospitality was FANTASTIC! We interacted with Hassan on several occasions and were always helped in a kind, cheery and professional way!

If you’re thinking you’re going to get a posh London experience staying here, forget it.
The only good thing about this place is the central location and being right across from Hyde Park.
The included breakfast is terrible. The bed was so hard and I could feel the springs through the mattress. The walls are paper thin, you can hear the person in the room beside you when they cough.
The room is the tiniest room I’ve ever stayed in (for that price anyway!) and basic amenities like a tissue box and body lotion are non existent.
Checkout is 11am but at 10am, a housekeeper fully opened my room door without knocking “just to check” if we were still there. Just a horrible experience.
The front desk and restaurant staff are pleasant people. Everything else is trash.

We had a pleasant stay at Thistle Hotel Hyde Park Kensington Gardens. Hassan at the front desk was exceptionally friendly and helpful, which made a great first impression. The room was comfortable and clean, with everything we needed for a short stay.
The buffet breakfast offered a good variety of food, and we enjoyed the quality overall. However, we did notice that some of the cups at the coffee machine appeared to have coffee residue even after being washed, which could be improved.
One big plus is the convenience of having a market located right under the hotel in the petrol station—perfect for quick snacks or essentials.
Overall, we were happy with our stay and would recommend this hotel to others visiting the area.

This is a lovely hotel close to the tube and the park in a bustling area. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the staff is superb! Be sure to say hello to Sogand at breakfast! She is so kind and such a joy in the morning! Thanks for everything!

Was quite happy with my stay here with my partner travelling internationally. The reception and all workers were very pleasant. The room is cozy and hotel is placed quite conveniently with bus right outside that can take you straight to soho shopping district strip or train on other side of the hotel close by to take you any where else! Room service was pretty prompt for amenities and overall very happy with our stay!

Great food, service is efficient and attentive. The pork belly with rice was delicious. The crab and corn soup was my favourite dish. The hot sauces were incredibly tasty, and the pickled chilli on the side paired well with the main dish. The staff were very nice and gave me an orange and mints at the end of the meal to refresh my palate. Downfall: the decor and furniture needs an update.

Was on holiday in London and hadn’t had any Asian food in over a week so I was looking to satisfy a craving! Food was flavourful and the service was so quick and efficient. Got some delicious little oranges at the end of the meal too. My favourite was the spicy chilli beef - was super soft and the flavour was perfect. I think the green beens and pork was a little bit on the salty side but was fine as we ate it with the noodles. The noodles were great with a good amount of meats and a perfect crunch!

A friend introduced me to Four Seasons. The restaurant is in a good location. I’m happy that our waiter was accommodating, as I do not eat pork. The menu options are good and I really enjoyed their braised tofu. Good food for those seeking authentic Chinese food.

a stone's throw from our accommodation in London we decided to try this chinese restaurant. if we had judged it by its appearance it would not have been our first choice, but it was almost full and it was only 4pm. my trio of roast meats was really tasty. my daughter enjoyed her plate of only noodles and roast pork made especially for her.
Ferdinando Salvestrini - 2 months ago
We came here as a group of seven and had a great time. The roast duck was the highlight – tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The barbecued pork and crispy pork were just standard, nothing to rave about, but decent. The atmosphere was quite plain, and honestly, it hasn’t changed much – I ate here 20 years ago and it still looks pretty much the same. Prices were friendly, making it a good option for a casual group meal.

Lovely Lunch Date at Phoenix Bar!
Hi! My partner and I visited Phoenix Bar for a casual lunch date, and we absolutely loved it. The vibe of the place was relaxed and welcoming—perfect for a chill afternoon together.
We ordered the Cheese and Bacon Burger, Fish and Chips, and a couple of cold beers to go with it. The burger was juicy, packed with flavour, and the bacon added the perfect crunch. The fish was beautifully crispy on the outside and tender inside, and the chips were golden and delicious. Everything tasted freshly made and well-seasoned.
The staff were super friendly and attentive, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We really appreciated how warm and professional the service was—it made the experience feel even more special.
Overall, it was a great spot for a couple’s meal. Tasty food, good drinks, and a lovely atmosphere—we’ll definitely be coming back again soon. Highly recommend!

so we came here to eat the sunday roast and made a reservation to be sure to have it, but when we arrived and ordered they told us that it was all finished and it was barely 7.30 pm. so we had to order something else and waited more than half an hour for it but the pie was very delicious, as well as the sticky toffee pudding. the service was practically non present since we had to get our own drink and set our own table. the atmosphere although is typical but you must beware of pickpockets as a lady in the local told us.

Nice place. One of the only pubs I've been to that has a pool table. Just a pity that the barstaff wanted to talk on her phone instead of listening to my order that she got wrong.

I went to other pubs in London but I kept returning to this one. The staff, the pints, the food, the entertainment, and the atmosphere are all excellent. I was a tourist who met locals and made friends quickly. You seriously want to experience a real London pub, visit this one. This American will be back. PS, try the bangers.

The atmosphere here is unmatched—better than anything else around. They host live music from Wednesday to Sunday, creating the perfect vibe for any night out.
Pet friendly. No cash!
The staff is amazing—super friendly and attentive. They genuinely care about your experience, checking in to make sure you’re comfortable without letting things get out of hand. They’re also incredibly mindful of creating a safe environment, always staying alert to prevent any harassment. It’s a place where you can truly relax and enjoy yourself.

My first time at Gold Mine Chinese in Bayswater was a success, but with a few caveats. We arrived on a Sunday at 1 PM and were fortunate to get the last table, which shows just how popular this place is.
The Food: The food was absolutely delicious and the highlight of the meal. It was definitely worth the wait.
The Atmosphere: The small upstairs room was very noisy and packed, which created a bustling, no-frills kind of vibe.
Service and Wait Time: Service was slow, and the dishes came out sporadically—our appetizer even arrived after our main course. It's not a place to go if you're in a hurry or very hungry.
Overall, I'd recommend Gold Mine for authentic, delicious Chinese food, but be ready for a lively atmosphere and a very casual, unpredictable dining pace.

Located on Queensway in Bayswater, the roasted meats at Gold Mine are must-orders, with the establishment offering a comforting, old-school Cantonese banquet-style setting. The menu is extensive, featuring a wide variety of dishes, including different meats, vegetarian options, and a special dumpling selection. The food quality was excellent, and every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious. We had Fried Calamari, Gold Mine Prawns, Steamed Eggs, Garlic Vegetables, Roasted Duck, and my favorite — the Crispy Shredded Duck Wraps.
Don’t forget to ask for chili oil 😋😋😋
The staff were all very friendly and welcoming.
If you’re a duck lover, this place is a must-visit when you’re in 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🦆🦆🦆

Gold Mine on Queensway is an absolute gem for Chinese cuisine lovers! Its location is incredibly convenient, just a short walk from Bayswater Station.
We had a booking for a Friday night but arrived slightly late due to traffic. The staff were understanding, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. From the outside, the restaurant may not seem that large, but it actually spans multiple levels. While the ground floor has a bustling atmosphere with closely arranged tables, there are also separate rooms for those looking for a more intimate setting. We were seated towards the inside of the restaurant, which offered a bit more privacy and made for a comfortable dining experience.
The atmosphere at Gold Mine is relaxed and casual—nothing overly fancy in terms of decor, but warm and inviting. The focus here is undoubtedly on the food.
The menu is extensive, offering a huge variety of dishes, including different meats, vegetarian options, and a special dumpling selection. The food quality was great, and every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious. We started with the spinach dumplings, pork dumplings, and turnip cakes from the special menu. The grilled turnip cakes were a standout—crispy on the outside, soft inside, and had an interesting taste. A must-try! The roasted duck was simply exceptional—perfectly crispy skin with juicy, tender meat. We initially ordered a quarter portion to sample it, but the team generously upgraded us to a half, which was a lovely surprise. The braised tofu stew was another highlight, rich and full of flavour, and the vermicelli were also pretty good. We paired our meal with delicate, light tea, which complemented the flavours beautifully.
Service was very good - attentive and impressively fast.
We had a lovely time and we will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!

Delicious traditional Chinese fare in a casual atmosphere. Service was efficient and friendly.
I ordered the pork dumplings, chef recommended chili chicken special (served cold, see photo), and a side of egg fried rice. Prices are steep for a Chinese restaurant, but I think this is typical in the UK.
I also ordered a dry martini, which tasted too sweet and as soon as I let the server know, she immediately took the item off the bill.
This place reminded me so much of a typical Cantonese style dim sum restaurant in New York Chinatown so there was a touch of sweet nostalgia for me.
All in all, I would come to this restaurant again and again!

The food was amazing. Very tasty.
It's a very large restaurant.
But the service is so and so...
Aafter we finished our main course, the waiter gave us the bill, without offering desert.
We felt like we were kicked out...
The bill was detailed only with the names of the dishes, but without the price of each one, only the total.

What a charming little pub! Was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was here. The house burger is to die for. The combination of the pork belly with beef patty is one I have never seen before and don’t know if I can go back! Every bite was flavourful and the onion rings were incredible. Crunchy and packs a punch. Highly recommend for a date or small groups. Staff were also very friendly 😊 Thank you!

Tucked away on the corner of Moscow Road, just a short stroll from Kensington Park, the King's Head Pub is a delightful gem that gives charm and warmth. From the moment you step inside, the cozy classic British pub unique atmosphere warms you up.😁😁😁👍 I tried the some vodka and a pint of beer—both were spot on, perfect for a relaxed afternoon. The bartender was very freindly, adding a personal touch that made the visit even more pleasant. The food was satisfying and hearty, just what you'd hope for in a classic London pub. With its long-standing history and characterful interior, it’s easy to see why locals and visitors alike keep coming back. The selection of beers is good, and the good service makes every pint taste better. Honestly, it’s a briliant spot to unwind, chat, and soak in the authentic pub vibe. Highly reccomended for anyone in the area.😊👍👍👍

This public house was a short walk from the hotel where my wife and I were staying on honeymoon. It showed up in a list of recommended pubs to eat and drink at. I was not disappointed at all when I saw the beers on tap (proper pulled beers!) and the menu options. The steak and ale pie was cooked to perfection. The meat fell apart nicely, the jus was nice and rich, and the triple cooked chips were phenomenal. It was a sensory delight, the crunch of the chips, the rich aromas, the nice charm of a good pub. I was blown away by how friendly the staff were. Would definitely recommend this place to all looking for a good night out that doesn’t break the bank!

Prices are good. But the place is too small and the tables and chairs are so close to each other, also it’s too noisy because everyone is talking in a small area. But overall I loved it!
Booking ahead is a must, cause it’s always full.

Progressively busy on a Friday lunchtime, we had a nice window table and were never hassled to make way for orher guests.
The mezze for two is really too much, the dips, beans, salads, meat just kept on coming - a huge doggy bag to take away in the end.
My daughter loved her super soft lamb kebab with chips - that was a generous portion too.
Another time we might have opted for the house white wine, the Greek chardonnay was okay.

Highly recommend this spot for anyone who loves Greek cuisine done right. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Maybe because we are tourist but we didn’t feel very welcome. The service was poor and we were forgotten about a number of time: The chicken schnitzel was very very good as were the chive mashed potatoes. We finished it off with a sticky toffee pudding to finish our trip. This place is good if you are wanting something close by.

Went here on a work trip by myself. Staff at the bar were nice, my rating is based on 2 things;
1) meal came out 5 mins after ordering, burger was raw in the middle (see picture).
2) I noticed after that service was added to my bill….but I ordered my food and drink at the bar….is this normal for London these days?

Went here between lunch and dinner and it definitely hit the spot for the typical British pub with its food offerings. Had the steak and venison pie, fish and chips, and pineapple cider. Service was good and prices are reasonable.

The best pub in this location!
It is neat and cosy, with friendly customers and staff. I came just for one drink, but ended up staying for nearly 3 hours. I was greeted like a family friend, served the best drink and cheered up with a few jokes. I ended up talking to a group of funny customers. I got hungry in the process and ordered a steak. I did not expect in my wildest dreams a steak to be so good in the pub. They do very well for a pub. I was served by a young, charming girl. I think her name was Elizabeth. I felt like she is reading my mind, every time I need something - she's there at my table with a smile.
I will be back again soon. Highly recommend coming for a drink and a chat with locals.
