Went for the Billy Nomates gig in October '25. The venue's good. Was able to see most of the stage even though I'm not that tall and was about a third of the way back to the side. Sound quality was pretty good (maybe could've used a slight reduction in the bass). Plenty of options at the bars, and the number of Brett staff was better than normal for a venue this size. Good transport links too.

I love this venue. It’s got a lot of history and is small enough to feel a little bit intimate in comparison to the bigger venues. It has hardly changed a bit for years, apart from being a bit spruced up over the years. It’s in the heart of Camden so there’s always somewhere to go after the gig and the people that go here are great. It’s a good crack and one of my favourite venues. ‘Ave it!

Went for a gig. Venue is really cool. I don't live in London, but it gave me rock bar vibes, even though the style of it is a little grand. Best thing I can say is the sound system was top notch, even with booming discordant base, and choppy guitar riffs. Would definitely go back for a drink or another gig.

It's a nice small venue and not too overbearing. It's great to see your favourite bands up close and very loudly! Staff were good with watching people to make sure everyone was safe and they swiftly handed out cups of cold water in the excessive heat to keep everyone hydrated. Steel Panther were fantastic! 🖤🤘🏻
Cîara Frain - 3 months ago
Great venue but the security especially is the best I've seen! They did an amazing job checking in on people and handing out water regularly. My small girlfriend was up on center rail and one of the security guys kept checking in on her to make sure she was ok when it got particularly rowdy and gave her water. Fantastic to see people who obviously care about looking after everyone in the crowd.

I was welcomed by the lovely girl named Helen who searched for a table for me and seated me while I was still waiting for my partner.
The atmosphere was amazing, great vibe and music.
The decor is very cool and unique even inside the rest rooms.
The food was good.
We had two burgers- vegan and beef with extra bacon.
My vegan one was good but could have had more vegetables inside. It was just like piece of salad and pickle. Could be something more.
In general very good experience.
The staff was great, we were looked after.
Thanks .

Food was delicious 😋 enjoyed the tuna starter & squid. Unfortunately the chicken wings were dry for me. We had burgers as mains, nice portion took some home. The dessert was a dark chocolate ganache with honeycomb. Strangely served in a drinking glass - nice, rich but small portion.
Venue was gorgeous inside, unfortunately not enough staff, despite going up to pay I was told I had to await a server - that took age's!!.
As part of First table.

Cannot recommend this place enough it is AMAZING! We went for a friends bday dinner last night and just had the most incredible time. The staff were absolutely fantastic like 100/10 amazing. We had the most incredible waitress Lotte and it was her first day!! She was so good with taking into consideration allergies, range of orders, providing information, just everything we were shocked it was her first day because she was so amazing. Also Serena was fantastic as well! Then the food was DELICIOUS definitely recommend as all sharing plates! Fave dishes were the artichoke dip and oxtail nuggets. Then the vibe - great live music, so much atmosphere, and even though there was a line to get in at the end of the night the bar still felt spacious. In case you can’t tell I absolutely loved my night here and will be back - thanks so much to all the team there for such a great night!

Amazing food here! Really blew me away. Lovely, friendly and helpful stuff. Big thank you to Leticia for outstanding service! We had the mac and cheese (which was lovely), I had the brisket sandwich (which blew me away, it was cooked perfectly and had loads of flavour to it), and my partner had the fried chicken.
Would highly recommend and will definitely be back again sometime in the future!

Unforgettable Night at The Jazz Cafe!
I absolutely loved it at The Jazz Cafe! My hubby and I booked a table in the restaurant, super easy to do, for the 6th of November to celebrate our 38th anniversary (the day we first met 💕).
We started with the chicken wings and prawn dumplings, both delicious, but honestly, I was too excited to eat much more because we also had tickets for the House Orchestra. And wow… what a night! We ate, we danced, and we just soaked up the incredible vibe together.
The atmosphere was electric, buzzing crowd, live music, dimmed lights, it honestly felt like stepping into a smoky basement jazz club straight out of a movie. We popped some champagne and partied till late, celebrating another anniversary that will definitely go down in history.
A massive shoutout to our waiter, Tom, he was so attentive and really made our night extra special. 💫
If you love house music played live by a band, there’s honestly no better place to experience it than The Jazz Cafe. Can’t wait to go back! 🎷🎶

Wonderful experience at this extraordinary venue. First time visiting to meet excellent Ayo, the stage name of Joy Olasunmibo Ogunmakin who is the singer and song writer. The venue had to offer an intimate atmosphere and very good acoustics. My guests and I had a lovely dinner at upstairs sitting area, the bar was well-served and staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. I definitely plan to come again.

Great venue with bar and fairly small standing area downstairs so you’re never too far from the stage. Seating upstairs which you need to book and have a meal. Good view with slightly higher - and cheaper - tables (bar stools) a bit further back. Food was good although fairly small portions. Staff friendly and a good mixture of music across different nights. Overall an intimate venue with a great atmosphere- a really good night out. Thankfully very close to Camden Town tube station.

Absolutely fantastic venue. Intimate session. Great acoustics. Back again after last year for a repeat of Third World. Fairly accessible. Main toilets are on a lower level. Eating with stage viewing area upstairs. Very friendly vibe.

We had a fantastic experience at Jamon Jamon Camden! The tapas were delicious, the chorizo and chicken paella was perfectly cooked. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and a special mention to the new manager, Isa, who gave us great recommendations and made us feel at home.
If you love authentic Spanish food with excellent service, this is the place to go!

My interest in visiting this place was because I saw that Amy Winehouse loved to eat there.
That's why I went there and I eat Spanish food (I had already tried Spanish food when I was in Barcelona and Madrid).
So this place is very nice, the atmosphere, the food, the service and the music and it’s close to the bus station, metro, pubs, etc. I love it.
El Canasto de Lady - 10 months ago
Staff were nice enough and did came out in a timely way, it was hot. Had 5 plates, 2 were good the others were OK. The bravas is best described as small cubed fries with two sauces on the side. At nearly £7..well...so I would say the food was average compared to other Spanish tapas I have had at this price point. No major complaints but first visit for 5 plates and that will be my only visit.

I thoroughly enjoyed the delectable dishes at the restaurant.
The culinary experience was exceptional as we indulged in a variety of items
1. gamas
2. Chorizo
3. Paella with seafood,
4. paella with ink,
5. calamari.
Each dish left a lasting impression with its incredible flavors, making the overall dining experience immensely satisfying.
The service and ambiance added to the positive experience; everything was simply outstanding, leaving no room for complaints. The staff provided excellent service, contributing to the overall pleasant vibe of the place.
Tip: Reserve to dine at Soho for a delightful experience.

We chanced upon this when we were looking for a place to eat. And we are really glad we did. The food is good. And the restaurant feels airy and inviting. I particularly like the natural daylight coming through the glass roof. The mushrooms and the prawns are highly recommended.

Amazing place for metalheads and alt people! Although it's close to the underground station there are not many tourists, they have a huge variety of drinks, friendly stuff, great ambience and amazing food (all vegan)! Concerts are in a separate room upstairs so you can enjoy a drink in the bar all the time.
N Lacrima - 4 months ago
Large rock/metal bar tucked on a Camden side street with a small music venue upstairs.
Good lively but chilled atmosphere, though the low lighting and loud music can make choosing a drink a bit of a challenge. The staff are great.
The upstairs venue is tiny with a very low stage. So it can be difficult to see much. Sound is fantastic. Limited number of gender neutral toilets, so be prepared to queue.

I'm surprised I've never been in this place. I don't visit Camden now, it's a place to avoid for me, used to be my and my crew place-to-go almost 2 decades ago thou but we usually would go in direction of markets or stay in World's End.
Anyway, it's no brainer dive in metalhead place, very good vibes, music is not too loud and they have room for live gigs upstairs.
Great service from barmaid, sorry, don't know her name. We had a small chat about non-alcoholic beers and why it's so hard to get Guinness 0 in London. Top notch service. Recommended beer was good too.
Oh, and toilets are amazing. Don't expect much from place like this, they are clean enough but amount of graffiti and stickers is on record level.
Cool spot, not as busy as well known establishment across the street. Only let down was plastic cups. I get it, but I like my drinks in glass.

The Black Heart is a large pub tucked in a side street 30 seconds walk from Camden tube station. It's hidden in plain sight as there signage isn't obvious from the top of the road.
I came with a group of friends because we had heard good things about the Sunday roasts.
We booked a table for 6 and I was a little surprised to find we had a booth table. The 6 of us could just about squeeze in and eat without elbowing each other, but it would have been nice to have extra space.
The food was definitely worth the visit - the tofu pork belly was delicious, with a slightly sweet flavour to it. I enjoyed the crackling and vegan Yorkshire pudding which are so rare to find (even in vegan restaurants). The Yokshire pudding had the perfect mix of crunchy top and squidgy bottom! All the vegetables were cooked and seasoned well and the giant jug of gravy was popular with everyone.
I didn't see a price on the menu so I was pleasantly surprised the roast was £18.
There's a large selection of drinks, including Belgian beers which all looked to be reasonably priced too.
I would definitely come back again!

One of our stops on our pub crawl through the Camden area and this place had great vibes. Would only recommend it if you're into metal/rock but our group thought it was pretty awesome. We ordered some premixed shots and went on our way, but I could definitely see myself having more drinks here if we had more time!

Great little pub, lovely and quiet away from the manic high street. £6 for a Stella which isn’t too bad for London prices. Great music!

It's OK, but just ok. Glum bar staff don't help. Differing prices between rounds also don't help.
Jason Whittle - 2 weeks ago
Great pub, somehow still authentic and I could tell locals still pay it a visit. Incredible, since it's Camden and stone's throw from that dystopian high street.
It has a run down vibe which I love in boozers but at the same time needs a proper work with toilets, they are not nice to use at all. I know, I know, I'm old.
Cool service, those guys are chilled and I bet seen everything. Not that much room to seat thou.
Barely any choice when it comes to non-alkoholic beers, I don’t why that is. It’s London in general.

What a fabulous find! Ended up here last night after a friend’s event, sadly missed the live music festival earlier in the day (which sounded epic), but was there for great DJ’s & a lively super friendly crowd & bar team. 🎉
Met one of the owners, Sarah, who couldn’t have been nicer too.
Great venue, with a real community vibe, go solo, go with friends, highly recommend 💜😊

Wetherspoons in Camden Town is a solid spot for affordable food and drinks in a lively area. The building has a unique character, and there’s plenty of space to sit, both indoors and out. Service is usually quick, even when it's busy. Great selection of beers at reasonable prices. It's not fancy, but it's reliable and perfect for a casual meet-up before exploring Camden Market.

Great pub by the river. I’d never been to The Spoons in Camden, but what a great find. Less than £10 for a round of two drinks, and right by the lock, you can’t go wrong. Charlie was amazing! She was running around like noone’s business clearing tables and all sorts. Her service was top notch. I’m going back there for sure!

An okay Wetherspoons next to the Camden Locks.
The inside is very big (and strangely has it's Toilets on the ground floor - that's a 1st for a Wetherspoons 🤣). The outside has a large terraced area with nice views of Regents Canal. It is popular and gets very busy, so finding a free table is very difficult 🫤
Most of the staff are really good, the Manageress is really unhelpful with a real miserable attitude 👎
The food isnt great, the Pizza was pretty awful 🤢
The drinks are cheap (for London)...
If you find yourself in the vicinity, there are lots of better (independent) Bars nearby, you should visit before going here ...

Pictured is the "small pub classics" sized fish and chips. The perfect serving size at a great price! The location was great, fantastic views of Camden Lock out the windows.
Even though you place your order through an app, the service was surprisingly great! Prompt delivery of drinks and food, and we were checked up on to see if we needed anything else. Lovely!

I rarely leave a review, however I feel it's vital to give feedback especially as hospitality is my background.
Disappointed with both the dishes we ordered - the quality and customer service at this branch has really gone down. Perhaps it was just a duff Thursday night.
I felt that only 2 members of staff were personable. Especially Kedest, thank you for your wonderful service, even when you were overseeing the bar, your attentiveness was truly appreciated.
Following ordering, I was shocked to have my salad placed carelessly by the floor Manager at the end of the table, as opposed to in front of me, on my paper mat.
I know customers can be difficult on many occasions, but a little bit more kindness and attentiveness would have been much appreciated. Especially when you pay nearly £40 for 2 underwhelming dishes. I guess it all depends on the Brsnch, the kitchen team & the floor team on the day.
This has been a long standing jaunt for myself and my daughter, being local, hence our disappointment.

Grilled chicken ramen - the chicken was not grilled, generally bland taste and old, scarse in ingredients. The Nepalese waiter took all the £5 cash tip across the hall and tuck into his jacked, basically robbing his 2 other colleagues who served us. I, personally, felt robbed. Wagamama's at Victoria, Battersea and South Bank are much better quality in food and athmosphere.

Updated review Feb 2023
This was a place where I used to come every 3-6 months and carrying my friends here. This time we came we were completely disappointed.
The food became much worse, when we asked why the waiter told us that they changed the sauces… look at the pictures of my review before and after.
They did not have most of the things we wanted. Prawn and begs had little shrimps instead or half of the prawns in a nest of veggies. The mains had only 3 (!!!) pieces of prawns…
I asked to have no ice in the smoothie and the waitress told me that it would be less in portion - the way they try to save the money by adding the ice
Completely dissatisfied and disappointed. Not planning to come back. Such a shame this place has become much worse. I used to recommend this place a lot. Now regret.

Great bottomless brunch myself and 3 friends came about 12:30 and had reserved online but we were greeted and seated quickly and the food started coming out and the alcohol was flowing! Another point to note if you don’t drink like myself they offer the menu of mock tails in lieu of the alcoholic beverages! Was a great little venue tucked down Inverness street.

Tried to get a variety of dishes and generally enjoyed the food, particularly the roti canai. Unfortunately had to pull down the rating as my nasi goreng had a hair. However, the dealt with it super professionally and no arguments with apologies and taken off service. It was a shame because the quality of food was nice alongside the decor and feel.

It was our 2nd visit, and it was still the same warmth by the staff. Despite being a late entry to the restaurant, the chef made a special chicken starter for us, fingerlicking delicious. The Malaysian chicken curry was full of flavours. And the Thai chilli prawns were amazing with jasmine rice
