A great hotel for any traveler in London. Its right next to the underground and a Boots! Very convenient. Plenty of taxis hang around the hotel too! The hotel is in great walking distance to many locations! Only place that would be a longer walk is the Tower of London. The hotel was clean and attentive! All the workers were super friendly and kind. The rooms were very clean. Lots of space. Great shower had a lot of amenities. The beds were actually very comfortable. There’s a restaurant in the hotel. There’s also a Starbucks in the hotel. There’s a beautiful main room with the main staircase to lead to the rooms. Only downside the elevators did take a while so we mainly just took the stairs, very accessible and right next to many good restaurants and shops. One thing that was very nice. They offered a lot of snacks and free water in the fridge. They would refill it every day. I felt very safe. The view was fine. It just faced an office the only downside the building that had an office in it would blast the bright lights around midnight so that would get annoying however, their curtains were very good at blacking out lights!

What an amazing hotel. The history of the hotel is enough to make you stay. However if you need more convincing the refreshments in the mini bar is problem at the top of my list. As a mom of 3 kids we got to the room very late and the kids wanted a nibble and something to drink. It was amazing to open the mini bar and find treats and drinks free!!! Then on arrival we had the nicest slice of chocolate cake and they do this for every room. It’s just wonderful. In a world where greed is the new way of life it’s just wonderful to go to a hotel that offers you more than the other hotels we go to where services have been reduced. The staff are great too. Just one lady at reception made us feel like we were inconveniencing her for doing her job but that didn’t dampen our stay. I wish I could spend a month or two at the hotel and tweet it a little to get it to 5 stars because it’s close enough to being a 5 star establishment. The location is amazing.

The Clermont made our stay in London perfect! Check in was smooth and friendly. They even offered free welcome drinks for us and a teddy bear for our son. The hotel was more beautiful than its pictures. Our room was ready with our son's pullout already made. Our bed was the biggest bed Ive ever slept in. My wife and I joked we needed to call each other to even talk from one side to the other. The room came stocked with complimentary snacks and beverages that were replenished daily. The hotel bar had excellent drinks. The attached restaurant looked good but we never ate there though as a guest we received 30% off. The staff recommendations for local restaurants were terrific. Many top attractions were in easy walking distance. The Charing Cross underground was below the hotel and the Embankment underground was just down the street. Trafalgar Square was around the corner. The location could not have been better. Look forward to returning again soon!

Our stay at Clermont was very memorable. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location was excellent, close to the metro and train, and within a 20-minute walk of many major landmarks. Breakfast was good, though the variety could feel limited during a longer stay. The complimentary minibar, with espresso, soft drinks, and snacks, was a great touch. Staff were friendly and helpful. Our room view was not ideal, overlooking another building, but front-facing rooms may be better. Maintaining the room temperature was a bit tricky, though there is AC at least. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for a stay in London, with plenty of supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, and gift shops nearby. Only negative thing to improve could be WiFi which was super slow and youtube pausing so often which was frustrating. In addition, adding footwear in the room would be nice and suggested.

Beautiful building and interior, in such a great location. Perfect for a catch up with friends or a business meeting over lunch/dinner. Service throughout was good, but not attentive. However, the Italian waiter who served coffee when I first arrived in the bar area, she was brilliant - thank you!

Had very good pre-theatre menu here last night. Very reasonable and although limited choice of starter, main and dessert they were all excellent - salmon starter, minute steak and cheesecake. It is and impressive high ceiling.dining room inside an hotel. Our waiter was great as well.

A second late lunch a boyds. Food service and staff excellent. Love it here, not rushed, lovely ambience. After enjoying late lunch we went to the theatre and came back to boyds for cocktails and drinks. Wonderful atmosphere and all the staff so helpful and friendly. Shiraz makes the very best cocktails, a work of art and taste like a dream! Amazing experience in boyds. Not to mention, great value for money. Highly recommend this venue, escape the crowds, the noise and enjoy the high end treatment from the staff and Wonderful cuisine at the very best prices. A true hidden gem 💎 ✨️ 💖

I was deeply attracted when I came to this restaurant for the first time! The traditional British fish and chips are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The chips are golden and crispy, and the fish is tender and boneless. Dipped in the special sauce, it's extremely delicious. The restaurant is simply and generously decorated, clean and tidy. The waiters are very polite and will clean the table in a timely manner, providing attentive service. It's worth a try!

The service response speed is super fast! The waiter came right away when we waved. All our requests were met promptly, such as asking for extra chili and vinegar, which were delivered immediately. Very efficient!

I randomly walked into this pub in London and ended up having one of the best meals of my recent trip—crispy chicken wings, with a Texas BBQ sauce (if I remember correctly ) and fries that were golden and crunchy. I added a ‘no-jito’ to it too. Honestly, when I walked in there, I had no expectations. I was just a hungry traveller who needed to fill his stomach and I was glad I went there instead. On my next trip to London, I shall pass by.

The service staff is great. Which makes up for the food. I ordered the Chicken BLT and it only had 3 chunks of chicken and dry. The bread was not toasted, so be sure to ask. The fries are good though. I’d just come for the service.

An interestingly located place. The food was fairly good. You order at the bar or through an app.
A big plus for the free tap water.
The staff mainly just bring out the food – more of a delivery role than full service – so it's actually a relief that there's no added service charge.

Stopped by for lunch. Lots of seating, friendly & accommodating staff. Ordered the halloumi to start - it was perfect. Had the Chicken BLT & Steak Sandwich for mains. Both were great!

Stopped in at Silver Cross Pub and was really impressed! The fish and chips were excellent—crispy, flavorful, and cooked just right. Portion size was generous and definitely worth the price. Great atmosphere and friendly service made it a perfect lunch stop. Would absolutely come back!

Stayed here on business. No fridges in room, which is disappointing especially when business travellers don’t necessarily want to dine out for every meal. A/C is great, so is the bathroom (despite rooms & bathrooms being slightly dated). Blackout curtains which is great. Restaurant is not the best - breakfast items are left for a while, and only refreshed upon request. I ordered a chicken burger, and the texture was as if it had been cooked, without thawing properly (meat was hard, and almost layered) - staff tried arguing saying it was fine.

Bar terrible, free drink on arrival, choice of beers were, budweiser (headache in a glass) or alcohol free becks, all other beers were out of stock. House red was terrible.
Good hotel dispite this, would have given a better review were it not ggor ue bar service

The location was perfect and beds comfortable enough. However, we were upgraded to a deluxe…but ended up in a room with broken air con (they did warn us) and disabled room with a shower that trickled rather than washed, and we had to sit down for.
Can’t complain as we didn’t pay for the upgrade but, for what we paid, it wasn’t amazing.

Not a 4-Star Hotel.
Great location, great sized bed.
Dirty rooms, stains on furniture, housekeeping that would not replace things like empty body wash, toilet paper.
Unhelpful night staff who’s default line was to ask the morning staff.
And don’t plan to sleep late, the building becomes slamming doors central.
The staff can do better.

This was a Mother and Daughter treat. Booked the package offer which included, double standard room, breakfast, bottle of bubbles and box of chocolates in the room. Plus room upgrade. Not cheap!! No room upgrade available on arrival. I had requested a twin room on my booking form. I recieved several emails before my arrival with offers of a room upgrade for a discounted price. No bottle of bubbles or chocolates in the room. After several phone call and visits to the reception. We final got the bottle of bubbles but they said they didn't have any chocolates available so as a substitute 3 sweets with a drizzle of chocolate on top to share. No complimentary water or fridge in the room.
Breakfast was good and the location for us was great. It was the Package offer that encouraged me to stay at this hotel. Disappointing will not stay again. 😕

Believe me when I say this is the best pub in London! Great food, amazing place and 1 min walk from Trafalgar. You must try the Sherlock beer and the beef and raclette pie, my favourites over all.
Ps: if you go on Sunday, check the Sunday roast ;)
Maria Teresa Bellora - a week ago
Popped into The Sherlock Holmes Pub for the vibe, 10/10 atmosphere, but the real surprise was the Komoran Chicken Rice Bowl. Tender chicken in a tangy, gently spicy sauce over perfectly cooked sticky rice; way more flavorful than your standard pub fare. Prices are a touch high (you’re paying for the location and theme), but this bowl felt fresh, hearty, and not as heavy as a burger. If you want something lighter that still hits the spot amid all the classic British dishes, this is a smart pick.

We went there for dinner, as my mom is a fan of Sherlock Holmes. She uses a wheelchair and the staff was very attentive and helped us get to the first floor. The food was really nice and the staff very nice and attentive. The atmosphere is really cosy and quiet. They are aware of allergies and can accommodate most. Really nice place.

Had dinner at The Sherlock Homes Pub in downtown London, England.. Had the fish and chips and my wife had a hamburger platter. The fish and chips were great. Some if the best I have ever had. The pub also has a Sherlock Homes room with memorabilia from the real Sherlock Hime with the London police. The atmosphere of the pub is very welcoming and friendly.

We stopped here because of the name and are glad we did. The atmosphere is great and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We both had the fish and chips and thoroughly enjoyed them. The pub can be a bit noisy but that adds to the charm.

I can fully understand why The Ship & Shovel is in the Good Beer Guide, it's a cracker.
Selling a full range of Badger Beers, this is a welcome change to the many London pubs who sell Timothy Taylor Landlord!
You can move between the two bars, yes, you have to see it to believe it. Plenty of seating and on a nice day plenty of outdoor standing area.
Food is served but this really is a cracking drinkers pub.

Great pub in central London. Good selection of beers. A bit of an institution. Always bustling in this small gem, but not too noisy.

The Beer is great here love it and Prices are what you’d expect in London. Service is quick and the staff are welcoming, which adds to the overall vibe. If you can grab a seat by the window, it’s a great spot to people-watch, otherwise the little alley area out back makes for a relaxed place to enjoy a drink.

Excellent traditional pub close to Charing X and Covent Garden. Good selection of traditional draught ales, as well as the usual lagers and stouts.
Efficient, friendly bar staff - even when really busy they can cope well.
Small pavement strips out front and round back in the alley to drink outside if its a bit too claustrophobic for you; but don't stray too far with your drink otherwise you might be reprimanded!
Reasonably priced for central London with a pint typically costing £5.50 to £6.

We went there last Thursday with 50 students and ate a pizza. The room downstairs is big enough to welcome large groups of pupils. I forgot to take a picture of the chocolate cake but is was amazing! Moist and delicious!
The waitresses were very nice and helpful!
Thanks a lot for everything and the take away for the coach driver!

I have been looking forward to dining at PizzaExpress again for a long time. I was especially excited to enjoy their gluten-free Dough Balls once more. The food was absolutely fantastic, service was amazing and the restaurant provided a nice, peaceful atmosphere to relax and enjoy the meal. It can get a bit crowded at times, but it’s not a major issue. Thank you for another pleasant experience and delicious food:-)

I wanted to try Pizza Express as I hadn't been since I was a teen and kids ate free with a adult ordering a main. It was alright overall. We did book ahead so got sat really quickly on a busy night however because it was so busy, service was a bit slow. They were alright at catering for my childs dairy allergy. However, my pizza arrived with hardly any cheese. I was mocked for asking if my son could have pineapple on his pizza (far enough Italian restaurants don't do it but I didn't think Pizza Express counted as an Italian restaurant just thought it sold all sorts food). Also thought that it was silly that the kid's drinks weren't included in the kid's meal deal.

We really enjoyed our lunch in this traditional English pub - bangers and mash plus a steak pie. Nothing wrong with the quality at all. I had the Samual Smith lager and it was as good as any and served with a smile! Plenty of seating upstairs for dining as the ground floor is for the drinkers.

I was looking for a quiet spot for meal and a cold pint after a day spent walking around London. I happened upon The Chandos outside of Covent Garden. I stopped in and was directed upstairs to the dining room. I had exceptional service from the bartender, Riley, who was quick with my drinks and very good company. The space is lovely, the food is delicious and when you need a little respite from the crowds and chaos, go here. You’ll be so glad you did! The fish and chips are wonderful and the organic wheat beer from Sam Adam’s hit the spot!

Being coming for a long time. Love having a drink here. Beautiful place located just off Trafalgar Square. Came for some food. Told we had to go upstairs for food, as opposed to previous visits where we'd eaten downstairs, but fair enough. Service very good. Good was good but a little small considering how much it costs. Went for fish and chips, had 10 chips. Wasn't great, especially for the price which was high. Slightly disappointed.
