5 Star Rating Genuinely well deserved 5 stars. £148 for 2 Dorset crab starters, 2 John Dory mains and a shared Ivy Trifle may sound high, but the quality was exceptional. And these days you can't go out for a meal for 2 without spending the best part of £100. The extra spend was justified. Surroundings and service excellent.

5 Star Rating We had a late reservation for six. The service was pretty slow, but when our orders came out everything was good. They have a full dedicated vegetarian page, the risotto I got wasn’t my favorite, but wasn’t terrible. Everyone at the table enjoyed their steaks and the beef Wellington.

5 Star Rating The most loveliest place I've been to. We booked on the day for a table and was greeted and taken to our seats. We had an amazing server who came and chatted. She was the highlight of the day! If you ever go to The Ivy just talk to the servers and chat to them. The downside was I went to the men's toilets and as I cupped my hands for the soap dispenser, it squirted up and onto my glasses and hair. White soap doesn't look good smeared on glasses after coming out of a bathroom. Although you may feel the prices are steep because of the location it isn't. I'd say it's on par with usual London prices. The service was amazing and the food was quick. Sheppard's Pie was delicious and although you have to wait 14 mins (a joke we had with our server), it's worth it for the experience. Really can't wait to go back. Really lovely.

4 Star Rating Well it is The Ivy! Nice old decor and amazing ladies bathroom! Went for lunch and they have a great lunch menu for 2 courses for £19 and add £5 if you still have room for dessert. Great choices for the lunch menu. We had the squid and bang bang chicken salad starters which were all very good. For main we all had the shepherds pie which was delicious! Served with gravy. Ordered a couple of sides, creamed spinach and green beans with almonds. Dessert was frozen berries with sorbet and creme brulee which was delicious!! Lovely ambiance and good service. Highly recommend it for lunch! Be sure to make a reservation though.

5 Star Rating Went here Monday 27/05. We’ve reserved a booking at 12:00. Staff at the reception was really friendly at went straight to showing us our table. Not just the staff from the reception who was approachable and friendly but all their staff were friendly, knowledgeable and it made our lunch pleasant and comfortable. After sorting out everything, we had a quick talk with Taki explaining the restaurant and that they have a published book for their recipes in the restaurant. I took the opportunity to ask how to cook the garlic mushroom(side) I had ordered. I didn’t find it in the book but Carolina kindly sent it to us via e-mail and I’m really thankful for that. Paul was kind enough to be in our service. We ordered drinks first, and then ordered starters and mains since we were starving. For the drinks, I ordered the non-alcoholic one, which was the Shirley Temple. ( I loved it, especially with the cherries on top) I had to ask Paul if I could top up the cherries after I finished the first batch. For starters, we ordered Hawksmoor Smoked Salmon and Bone Marrow with Onions. I was not able to taste the salmon though. But one thing I can say about the Bone Marrow was it was tasty and has a very unique combination. It was so full, and the onions compliment the bone marrow. It has a bit of sweetness (from the onion) and saltiness which is the perfect balance. I was already full from my starters. Had to adjust my stomach so it can fit more food. For the Main, we ordered the T-bone medium rare 650g. When it was served I was so excited. They have explained each side of the T-bone. Sirloin and fillet. It was cooked beautifully and you can definitely appreciate the pinkness and tenderness of the meat. I preferred the sirloin part since it has a bit of fat compared to the fillet but it was really melting in the mouth and you can’t really resist having more from it. You don’t need a sauce from it as well. Good for sharing as well (2person). For the sides, we ordered Beef dipping fries and garlic mushrooms. The fries were cooked well and it was crispy with their intended taste. For the Garlic Mushroom, I can say never miss ordering this side. It was delectable. It has some buttery salt taste, with other unique combination of ingredients in it. I was really loving it and if I wasn’t full enough, I would have ordered a second batch of the Garlic Mushroom. For dessert, we ordered their Sticky Toffee Pudding. I have been always a fan of sticky toffee puddings. It’s always my first choice of dessert when eating out. The sauce was sweet, balanced with the pudding and topped with cream. Loved it all the way. The ambience and the vibe of the interior were elegant. The bar was separated from the dining area. It was a comfortable experience with no pressure. Because every staff was really capable and approachable.

2 Star Rating We ate from the express menu as we were going to a show afterward. The service and atmosphere were great. The appetizer of Yorkshire pudding with potted beef was the highlight. The Yorkshires were just warm and putting the potted beef and gravy on made them hot, sweet and delicious! The steak and chips not so good. I upgraded to the fillet cap and ordered it medium rare. Maybe due to its shape - thick at one end thin at the other it was medium at best - mostly well done. The steak was dry and extremely disappointing. My brother’s steak was no different. I would have sent it back if I had time. Perhaps if it was not from the less expensive express menu they would have cooked them better.

3 Star Rating Rather disappointing meal- steak was overcook, a bit burnt on the outside and not juicy on the inside. Peppercorn sauce didn’t go very well with the steak, would prefer salt and pepper. Not worth the price (chateaubriand). Waitress kept coming to rush us to order even though we told them that we were waiting for friends or people clearly just sat down, too pushy.

5 Star Rating Exceptional service, the staff here are absolutely brilliant. You are welcomed in to this dimly lit and cosy venue with a smile and you can expect friendly and professional service throughout. Our waitress gave us excellent recommendations of food and wine and they all seem to know the menu very well without the need to oversell anything. They were so accommodating and it feels like they genuinely want you to enjoy your whole experience. Came here with a group of friends and we all had the chefs tasting menu and ordered a couple of additional recommended dishes. All the tapas here is delicious and served to look as good as it tastes. I knocked off a star for my food rating but only because I was left a little disappointed with the dessert! I have such a sweet tooth and the churros on the set menu were a little greasy and not coated evenly or very well with cinnamon and sugar, although the chocolate and the lemony mascarpone they were served with were both delicious. We also ordered a pistachio tiramisu which didnt taste of much at all and so was a bit disappointed with that. Overall though, this is a great date night or group night out! The atmosphere is so nice and cosy and relaxing. The music isnt too loud and every thing is just right. I think it would also be great to hire out the upstairs as it is a nice sized room, with a projector screen available and a separate bar. Also extremely good value for money. The tasting menu was £40pp and there was plenty of food. None of us left hungry! The yellow tail tuna was to die for!

5 Star Rating We came to Rules before seeing a show on the West End. The restaurant was very accommodating with our schedule, and were able to get us through the full meal in 90 minutes. Our waiter was very kind and informative. We ordered the rabbit and lamb chop, and were happy with the quality and quantity of food. The rabbit was the clear winner, but the entire meal was great. The restaurant was beautiful, and it felt like we stepped back in time while dining there. If you have time, please consider going up to the bar on the 1st floor after dinner. There is a lovely terrace just beyond the bar, which would have been delightful on this perfect summer evening. Overall, we were happy with our evening, and would definitely return.

5 Star Rating Visiting from the U.S. read several reviews that were negative that gave us pause to go here. We ended up going and happy that we did. Yes it’s $ but the food was very good. Had the chicken leak and mushroom pie (it was great). Daughters and wife had the rump steak and really enjoyed. My son had the smoked chicken salad. He loved the smoked chicken only complaint was that there wasn’t enough chicken. Finished with the sticky toffee and ice creams. Solid. Daughter is 10 and they asked her age as we came in (can’t have 9 or younger after 7) so they do enforce that fwiw.

5 Star Rating Have to visit the oldest restaurant in London if you visiting. It carries that historical feeling being there and appreciating the stories those walls have heard. The leg of rabbit and the steak and kidney pie were amazing. There was no room for appetizers during that visit. The rabbit was tender and had no gaminess at all. It was like a leg of tender chicken. The winner was the steak and kidney pie though. Excellent crust and flavor. Paired with some mustard for a kick is the way. The courgettes with tomatoes was a surprise hit and I encourage that to be included in any order. The cocktails were well done and I would visit again. The sticky toffee pudding was a bit burnt but not bad. The vanilla ice cream on the side helped. This was the first crumble I have had in London and it was pretty good. 2024.07.03

5 Star Rating What a fabulous place to eat and experience a very different type of restaurant. Kind of a throwback to times gone by. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere just lovely. There is so much to look at inside, with pictures, paintings and decor collected over the years. The food, while more expensive than I would normally choose, was so tasty, fresh and well-prepared. We were very full with starters, main and side dishes. We were planning on dessert but had no room! Our drinks were delicious and freshly prepared. The wine was not cheap but was delightful. 4 Star Rating We came for an early dinner and it was already quite lively. The drinks is very affordable- £10 for a drink. But the food is all around 20 quid. 3 Star Rating 5 out of 10 Great place to go with friend on a night out, as the music and the vibe of the place set the mood for a fun night. I had great expectations as I saw some good reviews and place was full when we arrived. Service is good and quick. However, I am disappointed with the menu and the food. We ordered Nachos as starter and vegetarian tacos as main with plantain as side. The nachos were tasty, a little bit salty but definitely not home made. The vegetarian options were very limited and vegan even worse. Considering the few options I at least expected them to be good, but the vegetarian tacos were simple and nothing special, the rice was surprisingly plain. I loved the plantain though. I consider the place to be expensive considering the size and quality of the food. However we had a £20 discount with the fork that made it worthy. To sum up, I loved the place but food was disappointing. I strongly recommend to review the vegetarian/vegan options of the menu as it can be easily improved and it would make a huge difference.

5 Star Rating Had not been to Clos Maggiore for 10 years and the first thing they said after my arrival at the restaurant was " Welcome back after 10 years". It was a special event- my birthday. And I got a really nice table in the centre of the conservatory. The staff were very attentive and welcoming. Of special mention was the Polish lady, the sommelier, whose name I believe is Natalia, whose knowledge of the wines was excellent. I went for the 5 course taster menu with 5 wines and I was not disappointed with the quality of the dishes, their presentation and the matching if the wines. At the end of the evening I got a lovely small box of chocs to take away. I will definitely be back. And the wait will not be 10 year wait for my next visit.

4 Star Rating As a tourist, I have been to London a couple times but this is the first time I made it to the legendary Dishroom. With the great reputation and the long lines outside on a weekday, I was having very high expectations. I would say it’s good but probably not as great as I have imagined. Still, they got a menu of great variety and some very intriguing Indian fusion dishes that were very delightful. The portion was relatively small, the price was quite fair, which was a pleasant surprise for us. Their atmosphere and service were definitely on the top notch. I guess the only downside would be the long waiting time, but I would still recommend checking this place out if you haven’t done so yet!

We walked in before 5pm, got a table right away, but by the time we leaving, a long line of people were waiting outside. We even saw the same long line on our way back to hotel after we walked around for 2hrs. The food was yummy, service was even better. I liked cheese naan the best, soft and chewy. 4 Star Rating Don't know if the food was good or not so I couldn't rate that one! The service was great though, I met a friendly Irish barkeep who recommended a fine stout there. It's a shame I couldn't explore the entire place being that it's the biggest pub in London, because most areas were closed off being that it was daytime. I bet the place gets jam-packed on the weekends.

4 Star Rating This was an odd place. They offer table service but it was sporadic at best. After food was served never saw the server again. Had to go to bar to pay. Maybe that was the way it's done. Again, odd. Beer options were limited. The food was good. No complains there.

4 Star Rating We went here for the atmosphere. It was a bit underwhelming. The food was OK. We had fish and chips. They were cooked fine, the potatoes, not very crisp. We were supposed to get mushy peas, but they seemed to be out so we got whole peas...

5 Star Rating Certainly one of the more picturesque pubs in London. Had a couple in here yesterday - first visit and am happy to say I’d go back. Stunning Victorian/Edwardian style interior.

5 Star Rating Great pub in an excellent location x service was fast considering how packed the bar was. And fantastic prices for a lovely Pinot. The girlies enjoyed the excess of mirrors, and the chips were thick and perfectly salted. It was bright but not in an overpowering way and made everything cheery.
