One of the best places to stay during the holidays. Incredible location walkable to everything - SoHo, Covent Gardens, Big Ben - or an easy tube next door. Staff is lovely (a special shoutout to James with great recs and beyond helpful) and rooms are spacious. Can’t recommend this place more every time you’re in town.

We had an absolutely wonderful afternoon tea at The Clermont London, Charing Cross, and it truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and well looked after.
The food was exceptional. The scones were some of the best we’ve ever had warm, fluffy, and beautifully paired with clotted cream and jam. The chocolate cake was rich, smooth, and incredibly indulgent. Every sweet treat on the stand was crafted with such care and tasted phenomenal. You could really feel the passion and skill behind each bite.
A heartfelt thank you to Chef Alin and Chef Amit for creating such a delicious and memorable selection. Their talent really shines through in every detail. We also want to express our gratitude to Konrad and Andrei, who were absolutely lovely. Their attentiveness, kindness, and constant smiles made the whole experience even more special. They checked on us throughout, ensuring everything was perfect, and their warm energy added so much to our afternoon.
Overall, it was a delightful experience from start to finish beautiful food, a relaxing atmosphere, and an incredible team who made us feel truly valued. We highly recommend The Clermont for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable afternoon tea in London.

Lovely hotel with superb Cleanliness and amenities in the room. We love the traditional feeling. The staff professionalism could have been better. When we went to check-in someone was drinking a Frappuccino at the desk and another was chomping on a muffin 🤣. On day of departure we called to extend check out for 30 mins and they kindly accepted but 10 mins before we were due to leave the receptionist was knocking on the door telling us check out was 11:00. The way she spoke was like we were being inconvenient.

I visited The Claremont at Platform 7 yesterday after my sister’s graduation, and we had such an amazing experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was elegant and welcoming, but what truly made the evening special was the exceptional service we received.
A huge thank you to Chagor, Anna, and Conrad, who were all incredibly attentive, kind, and thoughtful throughout our visit. I had requested a dessert plate with a congratulatory message for my sister, and to my surprise, they had already prepared a beautiful plate in advance.
What made it even more touching was that they gifted it to us without charging. It was such an unexpected gesture and made the celebration feel even more meaningful.
The food was fantastic, the ambiance was lovely, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for.
Thank you to the whole team at The Claremont for making our evening so memorable. We will definitely be returning!

Stay there 2 weeks ago. Excellent staffs you have there from the front to the house keeping. Room were clean and comfy. Daniel made our stay extra nice because of his friendliness towards us.
Location is good as you can get food and groceries very easily. And it’s a very strategic location
The only down side is the lift that was really slow but one of the the lift were under maintenance, so probably that’s why.

Had very good pre-theatre menu here last night. Very reasonable and although limited choice of starter, main and dessert they were all excellent - salmon starter, minute steak and cheesecake. It is and impressive high ceiling.dining room inside an hotel. Our waiter was great as well.

A second late lunch a boyds. Food service and staff excellent. Love it here, not rushed, lovely ambience. After enjoying late lunch we went to the theatre and came back to boyds for cocktails and drinks. Wonderful atmosphere and all the staff so helpful and friendly. Shiraz makes the very best cocktails, a work of art and taste like a dream! Amazing experience in boyds. Not to mention, great value for money. Highly recommend this venue, escape the crowds, the noise and enjoy the high end treatment from the staff and Wonderful cuisine at the very best prices. A true hidden gem 💎 ✨️ 💖

I was deeply attracted when I came to this restaurant for the first time! The traditional British fish and chips are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The chips are golden and crispy, and the fish is tender and boneless. Dipped in the special sauce, it's extremely delicious. The restaurant is simply and generously decorated, clean and tidy. The waiters are very polite and will clean the table in a timely manner, providing attentive service. It's worth a try!

If you’re looking for a unique bar/restaurant experience, or looking for an unobstructed view of the London Eye, you should definitely visit. The boat docked on the River Thames gives this place a fun and unique way to enjoy a pint of beer, apps with friends, dinner with loved ones, or a party night out.
From land it doesn’t look like a whole lot but once you get on board, it offers so much more.
If you’re a tourist walking the streets of London all day, this is a perfect location to get off your feet and grab a cold (or hot in the winter) beverage and relax with a beautiful view of the river and the London Eye.

What a way to spend NYE! If you're visiting from outside London, be prepared for a lot of rigamarole getting to and from this venue. It is not easy but it's worth it! My only issue is the (expensive) seating in the stateroom. The DJ music is unbearably loud and incessant, especially since we were seated right next to the speaker. Food was decent. Could use more heaters on the outside decks.

Amazing place bordering on 6*. First visit, came for a drink. A pub/restaurant located on a ship (too big for a boat) on the Thames across from the London eye just down from Parliament. We initially sat outside on top of the deck, not knowing they had an inside area but when it started raining heavily we found out they had so we moved inside downstairs. The inside area was huge, very smart and modern. They also have another seating area further downstairs, they also have a function room available to hire out.Great selection of drinks at usual London prices. Service was very helpful and friendly. Food was available but we didn't stay to eat. A definite place to visit, I hope to go again, and with fantastic views it's heard to find fault with anything here.

Was there for NYE.
Food was incredible, atmosphere was pumping. Wait times at the bars were a little longer than expected, but fine.
Espresso martini was great!

The boat on the Thames, my absolute favourite place to sit and watch the world go by on a summers day in London. There’s nothing better than enjoying a drink within sight of Big Ben and the London eye. Not to mention a great fully stocked bar, fabulous service and a lovely relaxed friendly atmosphere. We had the meat sharing platter which was gorgeous although there are plenty of other snacks available and there’s a restaurant downstairs for more formal dining. It’s definitely our favourite outdoor venue whenever we visit London. A bit pricey for us northerners but it’s London and it’s just such a different experience. Well worth a visit.

We easily made a reservation online just a couple hours before we went. The mulled wine and fish and chips were the best we had on our entire trip. Atmosphere was fun, historic and service was great. Conveniently located, easy walk from our hotel at Charing Cross. I would 100% go back again.

Believe me when I say this is the best pub in London! Great food, amazing place and 1 min walk from Trafalgar. You must try the Sherlock beer and the beef and raclette pie, my favourites over all.
Ps: if you go on Sunday, check the Sunday roast ;)

We accidentally visited this place for a late lunch neae Trafalgar and it was great! Fish&chips, burger - big portions and very delicious + 2 draught beers that were fantastic. Cozy atmosphere and excellent service. Totally recommend it!

What’s a fantastic surprise, we stopped for a quick drink and discovered this gem 💎 of a pub. Fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff, good food and it was before John the manager showed us what hospitality really means, he took us on a tour around the place - there is a tribute to Sherlock upstairs. This place should be on the must see map of London.

This is hands down one of the best pubs in London, and what makes it even more unique is that it’s literally split into two buildings with a tunnel underground connecting them—a quirky detail that adds so much charm to the visit. The atmosphere is stunning, with a beautifully traditional interior that feels warm and inviting. It’s the perfect place to unwind, whether you’re after a quiet pint or a cozy evening with friends. The vibe strikes just the right balance of historic character and relaxing comfort.
The food here is a real highlight. Everything is fresh, full of flavor, and great value for money—elevating the experience far beyond your standard pub fare. From hearty mains to lighter bites, every dish feels thoughtfully prepared and consistently delicious. The beer selection is excellent, with plenty of variety on tap, and the top shelf spirits are equally impressive. All in all, this pub is a must-visit for anyone looking for authentic character, excellent food, and a fantastic drinking experience in the heart of London.
Definitely a very easy 5*****

I can fully understand why The Ship & Shovel is in the Good Beer Guide, it's a cracker.
Selling a full range of Badger Beers, this is a welcome change to the many London pubs who sell Timothy Taylor Landlord!
You can move between the two bars, yes, you have to see it to believe it. Plenty of seating and on a nice day plenty of outdoor standing area.
Food is served but this really is a cracking drinkers pub.

It was fantastic here!
The location was fantastic - right by Trafalgar Square. The pub was lovely inside, great atmosphere and was very spacious.
I am gluten free and they were brilliant with this.
Would definitely recommend!

I was disappointed with several aspects of my visit.
Firstly, the food did not match the quality or presentation depicted in the photos posted in the reviews by the pub, which was concerning given the limited number of other customer reviews. Furthermore, I found the service to be very poor. It appeared that employees preferred to stay behind the bar, and there were no dedicated servers. Guests were required to order and collect every item from the bar. Overall, the food itself was subpar.
Note:
If you want superb drinks, food and service to match from a Pub got to "The Larrik" you will thank me I promise.

This restaurant is cosy, spacious, has seemingly unlimited tables, serves tasty burgers and (!) you can order via an app. I loved that we didn't have to flag down a waiter, because they never see me. This was perfection.
Evelyn Evertsen-Romp - 3 months ago
There are a lot of tables to sit from but it can get really crowded early in the evening so I would recommend getting there a good time to get a table. The staff were friendly and attentive and kept the all the tables clean. The meat pie with chips were delicious especially trying it for the first time, overall a great pub.

Went with a group of 20 on a Friday evening in December and the place was absolutely heaving (including a group of 90 kids!). I was worried food would take a long time, as it was so busy, and that service would be slow.
Ellen looked after us super well, was really friendly and efficient. All the food arrived promptly and was of the usual Pizza Express quality.
Well done to the whole team - they managed very well!

I have been looking forward to dining at PizzaExpress again for a long time. I was especially excited to enjoy their gluten-free Dough Balls once more. The food was absolutely fantastic, service was amazing and the restaurant provided a nice, peaceful atmosphere to relax and enjoy the meal. It can get a bit crowded at times, but it’s not a major issue. Thank you for another pleasant experience and delicious food:-)

We went there last Thursday with 50 students and ate a pizza. The room downstairs is big enough to welcome large groups of pupils. I forgot to take a picture of the chocolate cake but is was amazing! Moist and delicious!
The waitresses were very nice and helpful!
Thanks a lot for everything and the take away for the coach driver!

We booked a large party very last minute... most places would have said no, but not Pizza Express! They were happy to accommodate us, provided top class service and the food went down a treat!
Our waiter Filipe was amazing - handled our large party with precision, order and a touch of humour! He ensured we weren't without a drink all night and at one point made such a funny impromptu joke that the whole table was in hysterics! The restaurant was busy but he made time for us which we really appreciated. We will come back because of him!

The pizza (I had pepperoni pizza) with a bottomless drink - which was delicious. A great spacing and usage of ingredients (not too little or too much, just right). There was also a great balance of sauce as well.
The customer service was also rapid, and to a good standard. Staff here also established a good rapport.
It’s London, of course Pizza Hut will be busy at times (especially from 12:00).

We were the First time at any Pizza Hut and thought we ordered a Pizza for two (size was like a regular pizza), but with the bill the big surprise came. We payed > 40£ for 1 Pizza. And there was nothing Special with that but the cheesy crust.

The Fonduta Formaggi really stood out for me. It was rich, creamy, and perfectly cheesy without being overpowering, absolutely comforting and indulgent in the best way.
