3 Star Rating A nice restaurant but quite overhyped. We were expecting a bit more from the food and whilst they all tasted good... that's it. Just good. Nothing special or amazing that would make us want to return regularly. The veal chop in particular was tasty but so salty that you end up drinking lots of water for the rest of the night. The desserts we tried are, again...just OK. I know it's a popular place and you can tell by how busy it always gets but we just don't see what the big deal is. The service was very good, in theme with the traditional vibe of the establishment. The atmosphere itself felt quite similar to a typical pub. Very very loud and you get to smell all of your neighbours' dishes as soon as you enter through the door. There's no sense of intimacy or class, as you'd expect. In our opinion, it also looks a lot better in the photos than in real life. Overall we were quite disappointed and will not be returning here for the foreseeable future. The bill (inc. service charge) came to £224 for the two of us. You can double this if you like to drink.

4 Star Rating Loved the Wolseley. It was absolutely packed yet the service remained on point. We had a lovely waitress who was attentive, really lovely and friendly. Our food was delicious especially the Hake. Rated 4 stars though because the Flat Iron Steak was a rather chewy and bland in flavour, the new potatoes were way too salty and the green beans a bit too overcooked so slightly on the mushy side!. However the rest of the meal was lovely. We had goats cheese & asparagus tart and ham hock terrine to start. Complimentary bread with the best most delicious butter!! The Hake was fish of the day and beautifully cooked and served on stunning mushroom base. Couldn’t fit in a dessert but we were surprised with amazing macarons as a complimentary anniversary treat. Would definitely go again. £140 (2 starters 2 mains 2 cokes pot of tea double espresso and service charge)

4 Star Rating We had a pleasant dining experience at The Wolseley in London. The ambiance was elegant and inviting, and the staff were attentive and courteous. We ordered a three-course meal, and while the food was good, it didn’t quite hit the exceptional mark for us. Overall, it was a solid 4 out of 5, and we would consider visiting again for the lovely atmosphere and service. ---

4 Star Rating We visited for tea time and were provided with a lovely selection of snacks, sweets, and two scones. Overall, it was a good experience, but the service could use some improvement. I mentioned to our server that it was our first visit and asked her to explain the menu. Unfortunately, her English was poor, so we couldn't understand. Given that the selection of sweets and snacks is determined by the chef/restaurant, I expected someone to explain each item and its ingredients, but we were left guessing.

5 Star Rating Fantastic food and exceptional service. Had dinner with my family and had such a pleasant evening. The staff were extremely attentive and kind. Lorand was the most tremendous server I’ve ever had, he was so personable and made the entire dining experience wonderful . The food and cocktails were delicious. The plant based burger was also a great option for those with a plant based diet. I look forward to returning.

4 Star Rating Popped in for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. Pretty quiet and was seated quickly. Very welcoming staff, all very friendly! The wagyu croquettes were divine!! Really enjoyed the lobster roll was stuffed with a good amount of lobster, really yummy. The winner was the garlic butter though! That was sooooo good. Myself and my friend shared the mac and cheese too, that was very very delicious. Highly recommend this branch, the staff were ace. Food was lovely. Served super quick. Big fan!

5 Star Rating Came here in September 2023 with a good friend for dinner. We was seen straight away but told it was a 20 min wait which we returned back. We was helped with our menu choices and then recommended some of the favourites which didn’t disappoint. Although we had a few drunk guys beside us which wasn’t pleasant the waitress was able to accommodate us and even offered us a free desert due to the drunk customers. Apart from that this was a good place to go for a meal and would certainly have come here again after enjoying the experience that evening.

2 Star Rating We got the whole grilled lobster and lobster roll. Lobster is fresh, and overall everything is amazing. But service is poor The waiter seems to be treating us differently from other customers. Took away our wine glass without even asking if we will be drinking wine. After we ordered our mains, he didn’t even bothered asking if we like to drink anything, and just ask us if we’d like still or tap water. I ordered my own drink, and he replied “just one?”. Also didn’t bother to check up on us or ask us for more drinks/ water throughout our dinner. I am not entirely sure if the waiter is just rude, or is basing his action on the fact that we appears to be ethically Chinese. Though I saw him chatting and serving customers of other ethnicity just fine

4 Star Rating Decent choice if you have something to go to in Mayfair. They have a fixed menu until 6:30pm, 3 courses for £35. With drinks on-top it came to around £65 per person. We the chicken liver parfait, Asparagus, Salmon, risotto, Chicken Kiev and blueberry cheesecake. All were reasonably tasty. A la carte is average prices for the type of venue & area. Service was good. Venue got a bit noisy. When busy.

4 Star Rating Great restaurant. Classy and good for all occasions. Very handy, next to green park. Great value set menu, excellent service. Spoiled slightly by finding on the bill a cover charge of £4 per person, which was bizarre for London, especially as £11 was then charged for the bread!

5 Star Rating Beautiful restaurant, fabulous service. Had bone marrow and brioche - divine. Great wine list by the glass (which is very hard to find in london). I ordered the signature fish pie for main which looked great but was swimming in cream and butter so decided not to eat except for forking out the fish because I don’t want to be 8000 kilos. Lovely art. Great chairs.

The consistent pleasantness and professionalism of every member of staff we encountered is an impressive thing to achieve. We had the Dover sole and a Ribeye Steak; both were exquisite. 4 Star Rating 2nd time visiting, foods great! Experience a lot of new things, I just can’t justify the spend plus the service charge. The money bags, duck, sushi roll, black cod are the best items, if you visit you must try, the rest I honestly can’t see the price attached to them! Good experience with friends, but I can definitely suggest to you better options with better quality of food with a fraction of the price. I understand location etc plays a big part, but it doesn’t justify the cost of items in this place.

Felt that we were shouted at to vacate the room as they had another event, to me they shouldn't have booked another event straight after ours as you would have needed time to get the room ready.

3 Star Rating I was a member of the ROSL from 2010 to 2024. I ended up with rather mixed feelings about the place, especially in recent years. Since the pandemic, its business strategy seems to have shifted towards acting as an events location that is heavily marketed on social media. The restaurant in the basement reflects that, having been revamped to offer expensive gourmet dining. To me, though, that's not really the function of a private members' club where most members want a comfortable "home away from home". If I wanted expensive fine dining and social media-style presentation, I would choose any one of the other expensive restaurants in the area. The service overall for members feels like it's declined since 2010; it's now very difficult to get coordinated service upstairs, for example. Since I joined, the Edinburgh clubhouse also closed. I understand the financial reasons behind this decision, but it does mean a loss of one of the main appeals of the ROSL. The groups and events put on for younger members were really flourishing in the 2010s, but have recently fallen into disrepair and I am aware that many other younger members have also left. The ROSL chooses the arbitrary cut-off point of 30 for its younger member pricing tier (I understand certain rival London clubs maintain the younger member pricing tier until about 35). This pricing strategy meant an increase in my annual membership fee of about 200% (not a joke) once I hit my thirties. Although the ROSL membership fee is still low compared with that of many clubs, I do think there is better value to be found elsewhere as many rivals offer more extensive leisure, food and sporting facilities. There is still plenty to recommend the ROSL, especially for older members. It plays host to many musical and cultural events and has a lovely garden to use during the summer. The location is also amazing. For me, though, it doesn't feel enough of a cohesive home away from home with the personalised levels of service experienced in other clubs to warrant my continued membership. * Update * I subsequently checked the membership page for the ROSL, and it seems the younger member rate now only runs from 17-25. Compare with certain other clubs which have a younger member tier up to 35 (for instance, The Lansdowne).

2 Star Rating The least tasty salad I've ever tried was at Aubaine Maifaire London. It consisted of five wedges of Chinese cabbage coated in a tangy white sauce, two slices of overcooked and dried-out chicken breast (2 cm * 10 cm) without salt but with a strong bitterness of black stale pepper, one anchovy - just one! - and three very thin slices of Parmesan measuring 1.5 cm * 1.5 cm. It was an entirely dry and flavorless salad with a bitter taste. When I asked for additional white sauce, the waiter brought sour mayonnaise. I never knew that Caesar salad could contain mayonnaise 🫢. The price for this displeasure was £22!!! I would have liked to request a refund, but the situation didn't allow for it. Have a good day, everyone!

My favourite dish of the night was the beef Tatare the best I’ve ever had and will change your impression of the dish.
