My wife and I chose to stay at Rosewood London for a long weekend, and we had an amazing experience. The rooms and service are top notch, and the hotel is conveniently located right next to the Holborn Underground station, which connects to two lines that can get you to almost everything in the city (including Kings Cross and Heathrow). Another huge benefit is the hotel has a guest-only entrance to their on-site bar, Scarfes. It is one of the top bars in the world, and there is a queue for non-guests every night. We went twice and were given a table immediately without waiting - such a great amenity! We will absolutely choose Rosewood the next time we come to London, and I couldn’t recommend it more as it’s an amazing place to relax after a long day exploring the city.

Lovely afternoon tea at the Rosewood hotel. The staff is attentive and welcoming and the menu is well thought and accurately presented. We enjoyed the selection of savoury and sweet treats. A perfect way to spend a few hours in a relaxed ambiance. The hotel was nicely decorated for Christmas too!

I stayed at the Rosewood for six nights, at nearly £1,000 per night. The room itself was luxurious and very comfortable, the lobby was beautiful, and housekeeping was meticulous.
However, my overall experience was mediocre for a five-star hotel, with nothing truly exceptional to mention. I did not receive a warm welcome from the staff at the entrance or at reception. There was no small talk, no sense of hospitality—overall, a very bland experience.
I am from Qatar and wear a headscarf. On several occasions, staff members spoke directly to my husband without acknowledging me or even making eye contact. This felt strange and uncomfortable. I am unsure whether they assumed it was inappropriate to address me directly or assumed I could not speak English. Either way, it was disappointing. I travel frequently to Europe and the United States, and I have never experienced this kind of treatment before.
Breakfast was also mediocre. The buffet was only available on weekends, while weekdays offered a set menu with very limited options.
Overall, while the hotel is visually impressive and well maintained, the experience itself felt average and did not meet the expectations of a true five-star hotel.

My stay at Rosewood London was absolutely exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the staff provided a warm welcome and outstanding service, reflecting the hotel’s world-class standards. The lobby is stunning — elegant, spacious, and filled with soft lighting that creates a sense of calm luxury.
The room was beautifully designed, with a plush bed, elegant furnishings, and a marble bathroom stocked with high-end amenities. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged for maximum comfort. Despite being in the heart of London, the atmosphere was quiet and peaceful, perfect for rest after a busy day exploring the city.
Breakfast at the Mirror Room was a highlight — fresh ingredients, a great selection of dishes, and attentive service in a refined setting.
Overall, Rosewood London offers the perfect balance of British charm and modern sophistication. It’s ideal for those seeking luxury, comfort, and impeccable hospitality. I would absolutely stay here again. 🌹✨

I celebrated my 50th birthday here over the weekend. Stayed in family room with two kids.
As always, it´s about the people. The kids were made comfortable and entertained, excellent advice from the concierge and a slight misunderstanding regarding payment for breakfast was solved without hesitation by the front desk. A true five star experience.

This is a small, intimate bowling alley with just six lanes, which gives it a cozy rather than grand feel. The layout is noticeably cramped, and at £18 per person for one game (roughly 30 minutes), expectations were understandably higher. That said, the atmosphere is lively and enjoyable, staff keep things running smoothly, and it works well for a casual, low-key session with friends. Plenty of tables are available if you plan to eat, and the bar offers a decent selection of drinks. Good fun in a quirky, small-scale setting, but the price-to-space ratio feels steep. Worth it if you value the intimate vibe and don’t mind the squeeze; otherwise, manage expectations or look for larger venues nearby.

Pretty good bowling alley. Not the best beer selection in my opinion but enough for all tastes to be catered for. Just maybe not the brands you like. They do food as well, was not bad for that type of place. We had a great time so would recommend the place.

Went to All star Lanes Holborn with my colleagues and had a really good time. Though drinks were not up-to my liking but still a good place to spend time with friends and family

We had the best time. We went for the Lodge area, where there are only 2 lanes and is almost empty. We had also a private karaoke session and it was so much fun! I had never tried it before and I cant recommend enough!

Had a galentines here on the 13th and we all had the most amazing time! Bowling, food and drinks were great however the service we received stole the show, unfortunately I don’t remember her name but she was doing a mix of reception and being on the floor in the evening of the 13th of Feb, she was a delight as was everyone working that night.

Location is perfect and the staff service and hospitality was delightful. From the reception staff, the restaurant staff to the housekeeping (the two housekeeping ladies - Miyoka and her lovely aunt were so warm); everyone is helpful and friendly.
Initially we were given a much smaller twin bed room but we informed how inconvenient that was given our luggage and how the room looked much smaller than the image of the one we'd booked, and it got resolved and we got a bigger one.
Overall, the experience was amazing!

Was here for a week stay as I wanted a central location in London to see as much as I could in such little time. Great location to stay just outside of Soho and leads you right to Oxford St. Walking distance to many areas.
Rooms were basic. Bed a little too firm for me. Water pressure in shower strong. Towel warmer rack in bathroom was amazing. Housekeeping daily however they missed a few things here and there, yet politely obliged when requested to finish service. Room service was fantastic. In fact all staff were extremely friendly and exciting to chat with at front desk, bar, and restaurant.
Bar and restaurant was amazing. A complementary english breakfast was the best part. Small cocktail list at the bar. Grabbed a drink on occasion before we ventured over to the Soho bars.
Overall nice place to stay would stay again due to the location and fair deal.

The hotel have a clean and welcoming entrence and a lobby bar and restaurant with lift to the rooms.
I can really recommend this hotel just in the end of New Oxfordstreet. We stayed in a junior svit that was surprisingly big, and the room was really nice and clean as well as the bathroom. It was well organized with security safe, a bigger minibar fridge, the/water/coffe (Nespresso machine) and comfortable beds, pillows, quilta and beddings.
The staff was super friendly and helpfull with anything we wanted.
There’s noice from the road outside but it Will call down later at night and it dosn’t disturbe in the morning.

Location great - close to Oxford St, Tottenham Court rd station and walk from Leicester sq, covent garden and theatre land. Staff are great too - nice and friendly. Room was a bit tired and dated - old fashioned bathroom. Bed very comfortable but breakfast a bit limited. Three star facilities but four staff service overall…

We were here for afternoon tea and the staff were exceptional and very welcoming. Raj, our host, was particulary attentive to our requests and promptly assisted us. The food was delicious, teas brewed to perfection and the atmosphere was perfect for celebrating a birthday. Thank you to all the staff on Sat 7 Feb! Highly recommend this place.

One of my favourite pubs. It just has this really special old world pub vibe. All the woodwork, tiling, the little glass partitions and the tiny cosy nooks make it feel like you are stepping back in time. It is a bit of a maze in the best way. The atmosphere is always spot on and the beer is reliably good as you would expect from a Sam Smith pub (I always go for the organic lager). Just a brilliant place.

What an absolute gem! The Princess Louise in London is hands-down one of the most stunning pubs I've ever stepped into. The interior is superbly decorated—think ornate Victorian tiling, intricate woodwork, and those gorgeous snugs that make you feel like you've time-traveled to the 1890s. It's not just a pub... it's a work of art!

Cosiest pub in London! The atmosphere inside was incredible and the design!! It was not crowded, so you can normally sit and talk, which we loved a lot.

One of the finest pubs I visited while I was in London. An old pub, not many tourists, it has a cozy room upstairs where you can eat, away from the noise. Not too many draught beers, but what they have is excellent. It has a good choice of premium pub food.

Lovely old fashioned pub from Samuel Smiths. Lady that served us was very warm and friendly. One star off for the Gents loos... horrible. Seems to be a trend with Samuel Smith pubs. Its nice that the pub is Victorian in style, but the sanitation doesn't need to be!

Great place to eat. They are famous for the beef burgers which are huge. Its a modern place with the restaurant down stairs. We ate early a table of 8 and the food came quickly. After having the prawn starter followed by the beef burger there was no room for desert. We place was clean and well kept and our server was amazing. I would recommend.

Good pub vibes, they have downstairs for food that are quite popular too.
Nice interior design and friendly staff, but steak was very average (good portion though).

I went on Saturday for dinner and it wasn't too busy. They have two floors and one bar. The service was attentive and fast. I ordered a bottle of pinot noir for £45 and the steak platter to share: fillet, steak, both cooked medium-rare, prawns and onion rings for £69, with the additional chimichuri sauce. For dessert, sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream. The food arrived fairly quickly and it was cooked perfectly and soo tasty. I must return to try the rest! I recommend it!

This place is not a pub serving food. It's a high end restaurant serving beer. Absolutely fantastic on every level. Service, decor, food and great beer and wine. Stunning venue and very traditionally English. Recommend this place for excellent food. Everything was tasty and the chefs know how to cook.

Lovely meal after my graduation yesterday! Our food items were really lovely. We got the salmon plate, pork ribs, butternut squash soup, the burger, chicken pot pie, and the beef brisket. The martini and the gin-let drinks were watery, but the sloe royal drink was very nice and not too sweet. Great service and great atmosphere in the Oak Room. Very nice to dine here around Christmas, they have beautiful decorations.

Stumbled upon this place on a cold winter’s evening, and wow—what a find! It was exactly what we needed. The pub is stunning, and the food was fantastic. We were lucky to get a table for dinner upstairs. We both ordered the slow-cooked beef brisket, and it was probably the best beef we’ve ever had. The staff were so lovely and polite, and the service was excellent. We had a truly wonderful evening.

We visited The Ship Tavern on a Saturday evening and had a really lovely time! The decor was warm and inviting, and the staff were all super friendly and welcoming. We ordered the fish and chips, and it was delicious! It was crispy, and the portions were very generous. I also had a latte (yes, at 8pm… don’t judge!) and it was tasty!

Great hidden gem, pub downstairs which can get a little crowded but great atmosphere. Dining upstairs was brilliant, very tasty and beautifully prepared top quality gastro pub food and the prices are fair for central London. My only very very slight critique is I feel like the Guinness was not the best, not the worst but a little lacking

Lovely spot! Great food and really friendly service. I was there with my dog, and the staff were so caring - they brought out a water bowl for her. There’s plenty of space, both indoors and outdoors, which makes it a perfect place to catch-up with friends. Highly recommend!

I was honoured to be invited back to this place by the team. The service is amazing and the atmosphere really cozy, I would highly recommend it for a gathering if you happen to be in the area. The big windows also provide nice natural lighting (uncommon in pubs) whilst keeping its charm.
The staff were in both occasions very attentive. Thank you guys

Really nice experience with good food and friendly service. The menu is also decent with lots of options, including both savoury and sweet options. The monday madness deal for cheap pancakes was also great. Finally the chilli fries were a fantastic side. Review based on a lunchtime visit on a Monday.
Mike C - 3 weeks ago
We visited My Old Dutch for brunch, and while the setting was nice, the overall experience was quite a mixed bag.
The Food
The food was strictly "okay." While the portions are generous, the quality control was lacking—one of our savoury pancakes was significantly burnt on the bottom, which really spoiled the flavor. For a place specializing in pancakes, you’d expect better consistency.
The Service & Timing
This was the most disappointing part. The service was completely inattentive. After taking our initial order, the staff disappeared. There were no check-backs, and we spent a good portion of our meal trying to catch someone's eye. We eventually had to look around and raise our voices just to get any attention.
To make matters worse, we actually had to cancel our dessert order because they took so long to bring it out. After waiting an age, we simply lost our appetite and decided to leave.
The Atmosphere
On a positive note, the atmosphere was actually quite good. It has that classic pancake house charm and a lively energy, but the poor service and long waits really dampened the mood.

On valentines day, we went to My old dutch with the children and we had a great time. My children were happy, the staff were very attentive and friendly from the moment we walked in. We was a little late and worried we would lose our booking but they kindly allowed us to come in and made us feel welcome. The food was amazing and so was the drinks. Ive been before and will certainly go again. Something for everyone. I highly recommend! Thank you!

Great value, the chicken for the chicken and waffles are bland but the waffles are amazing. Super cute atmosphere, got food 5 minutes after ordering which is a bit suspicious. Bacon is hotel breakfast buffet quality but you get tonnes

Asian–white couple visiting. We stood in front of the reception smiling and making eye contact, yet three staff members looked at us and walked away, leaving us standing there for literally five minutes until I finally had to ask for assistance.
We genuinely fancied this place and chose it for what we hoped would be a lovely brunch. After being shown to our table, one staff member was sitting on the edge of the very table we were about to dine at, without any interaction or explanation. I personally felt ignored and uncomfortable, and later my partner told me he felt exactly the same.
The food itself was very good. I absolutely loved the pancake with chilli oil. The egg omelette, however, was overcooked. The sweet pancake was also misordered — it was supposed to come with pistachio sauce, ice cream, and Biscoff crumbs, but instead arrived with pistachio crumbs with the first two. Still, the flavour was nice.
I don’t mind food mistakes that much. What bothered me more was the service. When our order was taken, the staff member barely looked at us, kept looking elsewhere, and did not really communicate. At one point I even considered asking for the service charge to be removed, but I ended up paying it anyway.
We are planning to visit the Netherlands soon, and I sincerely hope the service experience there will be different.

The salad choice is great and reasonably priced. The warm buffet is a bit hit an miss - be careful with anything that contains minced meat. I had meatballs recently (not for the first time) and they were lamb. They weren't declared as lamb meatballs. I also had a 'beef pastry bake' and could taste lamb. I suspect they were a mix of beef and lamb. I can't stand lamb, so both times my money was wasted. It's just not on to not declare the type of meat correctly.

On my way to work I pop in for a light breakfast; my colleagues and I without a doubt always go for lunch.. Their hot food options are of such quality and variety that you'll never get bored.
Staff are helpful and friendly, always served promptly!

I would give it 6 stars if I could.
The food is so good that there is a danger you might bite your fingers, I suggest you try the lasagne and other hot food for lunch. The prices are more than reasonable, in fact far cheaper than other local options. Box of hot food under a mere £6. Fresh orange juice for under £2.
Staff are very friendly and informative making it a welcoming place. I come for coffee and lunch Monday to Friday without fail and even during lunch the queue moves on efficiently like a Japanese train.

I was in the area for a few days for training and went here every day! A wide range of amazing tasting food. Coffee's are relatively cheap compared to other places and taste exactly the same (coming from an old barista). Hot food at lunch varies every day aswell as the salad bar.
Would definitely recommend purely due to fresh and great tasting food aswell as the good pricing.
