5 Star Rating Lunch today at The Seashell of Lisson Grove was excellent!! The food was delicious, loved the bottomless chips! Truly a classic and quality fish & chips experience! Mushy peas and tartare sauce were good too. You can see from the photos here what some of the food looked like. Even the background music was great and the waiter was lovely too - thank you! Will definitely be back!

4 Star Rating This place in London is famous for their fried fish. You want fish and chips, Price is no object. This place enjoys a high level of notariety. When you visit a place of notariety you have to pay for that. Two large cod fish and chips, a soda and a pint was $50.00 in December of 2023. The cod fish was fabulous. The fish portion size was intimidating. The chips were forgettable. I saw many patrons come in and order fish and chips and drown their chips in vinegar. Yeah if you come to London you must visit here. The experience is worth it. This location has the fish shop on the corner and adjacent to it a more upscale restaurant. That's where the restrooms are located. To be honest, my spouse and I doubted that we could finish the fish portion. We left full and satisfied with a wonderful memory.

2 Star Rating I'm here to share my recent experience at Dinings, and, truth be told, it was a bit of a letdown. Even though the food was fantastic, the overall treatment and service were far from satisfactory. So, we had a reservation for 9:15. Things took a nosedive when the last order was called just 30 minutes in, before we even got all our food. Then, to top it off, the bill was handed to us without asking, and we felt like we were on a time crunch, hustled out the door by 10:45. For a substantial payment of £300 for two people, the rushed service was undeniably unacceptable. We had anticipated a significantly higher level of service at this price point. The food might have been a highlight, jet the overall experience fell short of our expectations. I'm sharing this review in the hopes that Dinings takes it as constructive feedback and works on improving the overall dining experience for future guests.

4 Star Rating Delicious and inventive Japanese food. The truffle miso aubergine was so good, we ordered seconds! Everything we had was fantastic. We were there celebrating with friends and brought a bottle of champagne. Unfortunately the server didn’t seem very experienced in serving champagne and quite a bit was wasted due to bubbling over and spilling. The service was otherwise good and friendly. The desserts were a bit of a let-down. I love truffles as much as the next person but don’t think they need to be in everything!

5 Star Rating Delicious, elegant and set in an intimate setting. Fantastic service too. This tops any other Japanese restaurant in London that I have been to. The ingredients are fresh, and the mix of flavours particularly in the sauces pairs very well with the actual ingredients. The highlight for me was the unagi sushi with truffle & sweet soy, although it was also delicious without the truffle & sweet soy (we had to order more). For the quality of food, the price isn’t too unreasonable. It’s definitely perfect for a special occasion!! Highly recommend trying it out!

4 Star Rating Great meal here the other night. I loved the sea bass carpaccio, tuna tartare, lamb cutlets, and the popcorn shrimp tempura rolls. Small, intimate and a friendly team. -1 star as someone in our party had an egg allergy… and although the team was accommodating and helpful - the options were extremely limited in contrast to other London Japanese restaurants. Overall, excellent!

5 Star Rating Extremely high quality sushi and Japanese fusion dishes, some less authentic than others. My favorites are the sea bass carpaccio, yellowtail carpaccio, popcorn shrimp roll and toro sashimi. They always have different specials that are worth trying out. Prices are high, but worth the splurge when you’re craving sushi.

5 Star Rating A last minute lunch with friends. Phoenix was recommended by one of the group. A modest street entrance opens into a large dining room that is decorated in a traditional style. The staff were all welcoming, warm, friendly and accommodating. Could not be faulted. We ordered a mix of dim sum and main dishes that we shared. Everything was great although the Peking Duck was a bit dry. From reviews and friend recommendations I believe this was just a one-off and I will definitely return and try the Peking Duck again. Pricing was ok as we ordered far too much, had a beer each and it was around £55 each including service. Definitely worth a visit.

5 Star Rating One of the Soho Houses near Baker Street serving excellent Chinese cuisine. Weekends are packed with people so do pre-book. Toilets were clean and service pretty good despite the busy lunch hour. The dishes can be quite spicy with generous addition of dry red cillies. So if you cannot tolerate that, ask them to recommend mild dishes. On our last visit coffee machine was broken but, they had the full list of coffee on this occasion.

4 Star Rating I’ve only ever been here for dinner over the past 20+ years and quality of food has always been great. So came here for dim sum. Food was just as good. There’s a good selection of dim sum available and some new style ones like the steam rice rolls with crispy dough and prawns. Spare ribs were quite large compared to other restaurants. The beef crispy noodles and ho fun dish was nasty, with a good amount of beef. I wasn’t disappointed.

2 Star Rating I really felt the quality of the food is below the others I’ve have been to. The food wasn’t cooked particularly well, such as the spring rolls were not well coloured and soaked with oil, turnip cake lacked texture, most for he dished came out lukewarm, the dumplings texture was quite rubbery. I really got the feeling of Chinese take away quality rather than restaurant.

5 Star Rating Nestled in the vibrant streets of London, the Allsop Arms stands as a beacon of British pub culture. My recent visit to this charming place left me thoroughly impressed, and I'm delighted to share my experience. Firstly, let's talk about the food. I indulged in their classic Fish and Chips, a quintessential British dish done to perfection. The crispy golden batter encapsulating the tender fish fillet was a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. But it was the Pulled Mushroom Chili that truly stole the show. As a semi vegetarian, I'm always on the lookout for inventive meat-free options, and the Allsop Arms did not disappoint. The hearty combination of tender pulled mushrooms in a rich, spicy sauce was a revelation. It's a dish that challenges traditional notions of pub fare and emerges victorious. Now, onto the service. Preethi, one of the staff members, deserves a special mention for her outstanding suggestion. Her warmth and knowledge of the menu made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Her recommendation of the Pulled Mushroom Chili was spot on and added an extra layer of satisfaction to my meal. The ambiance of the Allsop Arms is quintessentially British, with its cozy interiors and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're catching up with friends over a pint of ale or savoring a hearty meal solo, this pub offers the perfect setting for any occasion.

However my starter took too long to arrive and was not amazing. The main course however was delicious I had the roasted cod. Baked Alaska for dessert was ok but no wow factor. Also waiter forgot to bring sugar with my tea I had to remind him.

2 Star Rating I'd like to offer constructive criticism regarding my recent dining experience. The quality of the food did not meet expectations considering the prices. Specifically, the burger I ordered was disappointing – the meat was soggy, and the 'bun' was as hard as a stone. I believe there's potential for improvement. On a positive note, the beer was pleasantly chilled and presented well. Food: 2/10 Beer: 8/10"

2 Star Rating This was... an interesting bar experience to say the least. We ordered two beers - a lager that was flat (even after the second pour) and a Guinness that naturally wasn't poured correctly or to the top of the glass. We got the sharing platter or "The Crowd Pleaser" and, sadly, the crowd was not pleased. The saddest part about the plate was the "cheesy BBQ beef-burnt ends nachos" that were clearly missing cheese. We brought it back up to the bar and asked for more cheese. What we got back from the kitchen was the same cheese-less nachos with additional spring onions and peppers (to disguise the fact that no cheese was added??) The sports were great, but the food and (most disappointingly/surprisingly) the beer was terrible enough to not recommend this spot for sport lovers. Unless you want to pay too much money for poor quality everything.... Best find somewhere else.

4 Star Rating We had our wedding reception here for 45 people, including 5 children. From the time of booking the event, 6 months earlier up to the day, there were 3 changes of management. This meant that communication was difficult and led to some uncertainty. Our wedding coordinator actually left the company, but we were not informed, which panicked us as we could not get hold of anyone as the event date approached. Eventually, Yana came through and took control of the situation. Apart from some minor adjustments to the table layout, everything was in place, in time, and the event went off without a hitch. The staff were attentive and welcoming, but they could have maybe done with one extra pair of hands as the service was just slightly slow at times. Everyone commented on how lovely the food was, especially the stake, and the chef went out of his way to accommodate any special dietary requirements. The venue looked lovely with the flowers and candles. It's just the right size for that number of people and the staff cleared the tables after dinner so that we could all have a boogie. In all, the event was a great success, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the evening. I would definitely recommend it as a venue for any celebration and it was very good value for the money

5 Star Rating I almost didnt get anything from here because the Google rating was so low and the photos of the food looked so poor on their menu. But it was 8pm, I was on my way to catch a train, starving and just decided to get something anyway because the staff was so friendly. So happy I did! I was really impressed by the miso aubergine, beautifully cooked and not too sweet. I’ve had so many miso aubergines (I’m vegan) and this one was really delicious! I was not expecting a lot, but the flavour and texture was perfect and the rice and edamame beans with roasted peppers was a lovely compliment. Kept me full on my journey and no bad aftertastes, seemed very fresh and took 10 min to prepare but I didn’t mind waiting for it. Highly recommend this place. Nice staff, decent vegan food options, I just wouldn’t eat inside because the table / decor / lighting is a bit grimy.

3 Star Rating Little hidden Thai spot around Baker Street. Was fortunate to be accepted as a walk in on a Friday night, but probably only because we turned up as doors opened. It slowly got pretty full as the evening went along and could see why. The menu is exhaustive with plenty of choices. The food was ok in my opinion. Plenty of variety but can't put my finger on what it was but it was missing something. It was just ok . The staff weren't the best and felt a bit rude, pushy and not very interested. I'm a sucker for massamam curry and mango sticky rice. Pleased to see both on the menu but left disappointed. The massamam which is usually a thick nutty texture was watered down and lacking any flavour, well apart from large onions . Plenty of that and only a morsel or two of meat. One could have been confused as I ordered a meat (lamb) massamam curry and not an onion based main. The mango sticky rice was presented beautifully however once again lacked the flavour I'm accustomed to having dined daily Fae east. Not enough stickiness or sauce and just missed the mark unfortunately . The rest of the food lacked that punch, don't bother with the chilly ratings, it's all mild and lacked that zing..! Overall, a tad bit disappointed in what I hoped would be my new local Thai spot. The search goes on ...

5 Star Rating Best Thai in the area for regular visits: Rosa's and Monkey&Me are MUCH more expensive. Decent quality and a family operation so feels nice and cozy!

5 Star Rating Friendly, Quick and easy service for coffee and a treat on your way to catch a train. If you’re in a hurry in the morning this is a great quick stop and friendly alternative to some other name coffee shops in the station. Plus they are offering a fantastic discount (50% off)!
