Back alley classic London pub hidden in a narrow lane of the City. Superb London street drinking. Dark wood Victorian city pub interior. Excellent larger than it looks, split level drinking hall with plenty of open space, quiet corners and mix of vintage, leather studded, wood framed corner benches and high stools. Wood panelled walls and brilliant wood beamed ceiling. Glass paned and balustrades divide the space creating and open feeling, yet secluded and private corners. Excellent, retained features and layout allow you to imagine pub history from over a hundred years ago. Well balanced sounds, an place for open chat with groups, this pub has character on tap.

Louis totally took care of us. We showed up just before they put down food service and he made sure the kitchen got our order in. Cleared off and reserved a table for me and my son so we didn't have to eat at a side bar. The experience was top notch, beer was delightful, food was pub food. Will definitely be back.

I had a moment so went here for some food. This is located down a little alleyway. Unfortunately, the grill wasn't working at the time so I couldn't get the burger I was craving. But I must admit that I really enjoyed the salad. The staff were lovely. I arrived at 11.40, by 12.15, it had become very busy. The toilets were clean but quite small.

🚇 Bank
🍺 £6.40 Moretti
❤️ An historic city pub that will transport you back in time.
.
The uniquely named Old Doctor Butler's Head is located in Moorgate in the City of London. This pub is not easy to find as it is tucked away down a narrow side street called Masons Avenue. The nearest tube stations are Bank & Moorgate, both are a five minute walk away.
.
There has been a pub on this site since 1610 with the current building established in 1666 just after the great fire of London. The bulk of this building is 19th century, the setting and building make for a Dickensian feel.
.
The decor here is dark and atmospheric, this pub has a similar vibe to the brown café’s of Amsterdam. The ground floor bar has a raised seating area at the back and the main bar area for drinkers at the front. There is also another bar and dining area on the upper floors for those in need of sustenance.
.
This is a Shepherd Neame pub which has a good beer selection with four cask ales available at the time of visiting. I was served by a lovely lady who poured my pint of Moretti with a smile, my pint was decent and price point was to be expected. The food menu is full of hearty British pub classics, there is also a good assortment of sandwiches for city worker clientele that need a quick bite at lunchtime.
.
I visited just after 4pm on a Friday and the pub was starting to fill up with suits from the swathes of surrounding offices. This is such an atmospheric boozer, whether inside or out you get that feeling of old world charm.
.
The @olddoctorbutlers was an excellent visit and I loved the old London Dickensian charm that oozes from its pores. This pub isn’t open at weekends if you’re planning a visit here, but be sure to visit this superb London pub.

Another great experience at a Gaucho
This time it was private dining at the Broadgate venue.
The staff are superb and attentive, the food was lovely!
I will definitely be back with my team personally and professionally

Had an amazing dining experience at Gaucho! The food was outstanding, and Mari, our waitress, provided exceptional service. She guided us through the menu, showcasing all the delicious meats and offering personalized recommendations. A must-visit for a fantastic culinary adventure!

I've gone to this Gaucho 20+ times over the last 15 years. This time, pre-Christmas, is probably 1 of their busiest days, it was full at 5:30pm! The sides were pretty good, but the steak was simply ok. Having been so many times before, this was least memorable. We had a £50 bottle of wine and ended up with a bill for £340 (party of 3). 1 cocktail each, 1 bottle of wine, starters, sides and dessert. Of course, prices have gone up... but these prices are too much for the experience. I'm not sure I'll be rushing back.

2nd time having brunch here, this time for the Latin Experience. It’s £70 PP for free flowing starters, choice from delicious mains and unlimited selected cocktails. All worth the £70p as the cocktails would cost £15-£20 alone usually. The service was 5* with the waitresses constantly topping up your cocktails and very attentive.

Rosie our waitress delivered impeccable service throughout and made my birthday booking feel extra special. Went to the brunch feast. Decent value for 3 courses and up to 8 drinks. Drink options were great, and starters (bread, empanadas, sausages) were incredible! However the steaks served for the mains and the desserts left a lot to be desired

One of those places where you can sit down in a fancy places, order a high quality steak and some wine, and enjoy the evening.
The steaks are absolutely delicious: cooked to perfection, exactly how we asked. Very high quality cuts!
The sauces were super on par with the quality: the bearnaise is one of the best, and I personally love the peppercorn.
The fries were a bit disappointing: had a lot of super small pieces, nothing extraordinary with the taste.
And to send it all with a blast.. the desserts were out of this world. We got both the sticky toffee pudding and the peanut butter and it was so hard to decide which was better.. super flavourful, many compliments for them :)

Third Hawksmoor and just as good as the other visits. Service superb, food and drinks always impress. Especially the MEAT and the beef dripping chips, yummy. Visited for a Sunday Lunch service.
Only niggle is the space between tables as very busy and noisy. I did ask about a loyalty card, but alas not! Will be trying another when we're next in London.

Came here for a birthday treat. The wine we had was delicious as was the food. However I think it was quite expensive for what is was which is why I gave it four stars as I'm not sure I would go back again.
The pork rib special was great though.

The space is very inviting and the service was exceptional. The food was decent but not remarkable. The steak was a well cooked medium rare but the outside was scorched. Scallops were under seasoned. It was a good meal overall but for the price there are better options available in London.
Mitch - 3 months ago
The food was amazing and everything was full of flavor. Everyone's steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides were all delicious too. The service was good and the staff were very attentive and kept topping up our water and ensuring that everything was ok. Although it was a bit pricey, it is in central London and we were all very full at the end.

We had two and one pint of Jubel, with their green curry and steak pie.
The beer and the meals were both awesome. Not to large, not too salty, plenty of flavor. The beer was refreshing and perfect after w day exploring London.
Brilliant service from a very friendly staff. If you see and friendly Romanian with a fantastic mustache - you're in good hands.
Music is a great play list of slick 90s memories. Atmosphere is what I would want out of any pub in the area.
Well priced, very similar to what we'd pay back home in Canada. For the same food and service.
Recommend.

I had a fun time at The Telegraph, Moorgate. There was an event for Black Entrepreneurs going on for The Kickback called 'City Nights Networking Events', it was a night with an opportunity to meet people in various industries and I had a blast. I certainly enjoyed the cocktail from the bar and the entire atmosphere was excellent.

This was brilliant I went with my friend and saw dirty dancing film and the food was related to the film. Great atmosphere and great service. Food was so yummy and filling. Cocktails were to die for yum
Kerry Woodcock - 2 weeks ago
I came for taste film - home alone. Overall great experience and concept which was well executed. A few dishes were great (first “milk” cocktail, Mac&cheese) but the pizza was disappointing (soggy and lacking flavour) and the candy-cane cocktail was overly sweet to the point that nobody in my group could finish drinking it. I would come again though, the experience and friendliness of the team still made it worth it to me. They also did a great job accommodating my friend with celiac.
Merel Turksema - 3 months ago
I came here for the TasteFilm Dirty Dancing screening by myself. Firstly, the staff were so welcoming and guided me to my table. They went over dietary requirements and made sure everything was set.
The timing of the food and drink were spot on with the scenes, and it was cute having a menu too which showed what I was eating/drinking and when to expect it.
The atmosphere was relaxed and I had enough room on the table and on my sofa.
Highly recommended and I can't wait to visit again in September!

Great place for after work drinks. The food is lovely and accommodates different dietary requirements. Same for the drinks: the waiter understood my dietary requirements and made me a nice cocktail. We went fairly late on a Wednesday after a concert at the Barbican, 2 minutes away, and it was pleasantly quiet at that time. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu, despite being fairly new.
The food was superb- my monkfish, my wife's hake, and one of the best sticky toffee puddings I've had anywhere.

The chicken in truffle sauce with broccolini is a stand out main dish. The macaron is delightful. Do not skip the bread with whipped sesame butter with the starters. Service is brilliant and personable.

Our Corporate annual party venue, I had a great time bcuz of company of collugues and service by the staff. They were kind, professional and took very good care of guests. Coming to food, as I am vegetarian, the choice was limited in starters and main course. It was OK. The desserts were delicious, loved it.
I recommend this place for get together or dine in. It is spacious, good service, clean bathrooms.

The pasta and coffee combination sounds bit awkward but that’s what I bought from Coco Di Mama and I never regretted my decision. I am all time pasta lover but coffee is something I am very particular about and here I did t get disappointed. The taste of coffee is something specially different. #vikrmn

I guess red pesto is missing in this one, kind of bland. Usually this place is ok
Chandra Sekhar - 4 years ago
I love the coffee here - it's smooth, well-rounded and flavoursome without being bitter. And it's consistently good too. The queue to pick up the coffee can be a bit haphazard and annoying, but they always get the order correct and it's worth it. The breakfast pots are tasty too - the avocado and egg pot is healthy without being dull to eat. The sourdough breakfast baguette is actually as well filled and tasty as the menu photo suggests!

Store and staff very friendly. I've had better hot chocolate. Pasta great and quickly served. Specials a bit hit and miss. Getting increasingly expensive - now £6.50 for standard pasta.
Music way too loud to hear servers.

A great little pub on the corner of Wilson Street offering a fine array of both cask and keg ales. The Red Lion is a lovely offering from Greene King. Friendly, traditional and welcoming. The service is great and with a smile. A lovely twist on the menu offering the 'invisible Mac' to give support to cancer patients. A menu option, so positive and discretionary, well done.

Magnificent establishment, and a welcome contrast against the towering bustling city it is nestled within.
A great deal of effort must have been put into keeping this historic establishment looking as pristine as it is since as its a 17th century building, gleaming gold trim and rich mahogany throughout.
Great beer selection too and dead friendly staff.
10/10 historical gem

Nice, fresh and tasty rice and noodle bowls.
First time here so my wife, two children and myself made sure to choose a different meal each so we could try several of their dishes, and all our bowls were lovely.
Only downgraded to 4 stars as we'd of liked to see a slightly wider selection of sushi.

It is situated 2min from Moorgate train station.
I had Vegeterian Thai Stir Fry Crystal Udon Noodles. It was amazing. The picture is nothing as compared to its real taste.
Quantity was enough if one wants to have a 'light meal'.
Very yummy! Could enjoy every bit of it and didn't realise how it got finished so quickly.
Also, everywhere in this food joint, various sauces/dressings etc are kept.
The menu was terrific. Would go there many times to try all its dishes.
It was not very expensive but normally priced.
