Had the bream that tasted very good with well seasoned vege... Only complaint is the olive oil could be a tad less. The panna cotta and tiramisu was ace! Recommend it!
(They accommodated my friends dog outdoor- not if you bring let's let them know in advance)

My partner took me for dinner and it was nice and welcoming and in a nice situation. The food was tasty and we enjoyed each course (bread was delicious). Sadly the servers were a little to attentive and it was a little to much.
Nice meal and nice place. I know service charge is discretionary but you feel bad taking it off and at 15% added to the bill is a lot on an expensive meal.
12.5% is still high but 15% means you pay around £20 extra on a meal for 2 people. That sadly puts me off, I won’t ask them to take it off as the service was ok overall.

We were in London for some business. Looked around and saw this restaurant. It was definitely a good choice. The service from when we arrived to when we left was all really fantastic. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. The food was really good. Full of flavour and really well presented. We tried a few things from the menu and shared. They were all absolutely perfect. Coffee is excellent too. Service was fast, despite being very busy. All really great, thanks so much for having us!

This is one of my fav restaurant. My “go to” when I want something that won’t disappoint! And it never does.
Great classic Italian food good flavour and high quality ingredients. The pasta dishes are very good. And their meat dishes fabulous.
Service is always on point friendly and efficient.
The place is smart & elegant with beautiful terrace when the weather gets better.
Will always go back.

Here’s a clearer, crisper version of your review while keeping your tone and points intact:
---
Italian food in a slightly upscale part of London. I was meeting friends I hadn’t seen in a while, which was the highlight of the evening.
I started with a drink at the bar. The bartender served a dry gin martini—properly chilled but surprisingly sweet—and offered almost no interaction, seeming rushed. We didn’t wait long for our table, which was fine, but the restaurant was busy and it took a while before anyone came to take our order.
Service improved once a more experienced waiter, who recognised my friends, took over. For starters, I had an endive and gorgonzola salad; the cheese-to-leaf ratio felt off and the dressing was too sour. My main, a grilled halibut, was slightly overcooked.
We ordered some serious wines, and the bill came to over £100 per person, with a substantial service charge already included. By the time we left—one of the last tables—the staff had clearly switched off. We managed to get our coats, and the hostess, busy discussing the roster with a colleague, walked off without a goodbye or even opening the door. My friends, who are used to London service, noticed it too.
Small details, but at these prices they matter. I loved catching up with my friends, but the restaurant has room to improve the overall experience.

Very slow bar service. One staff member took just under 9 minutes to make 2 coffees, while 2 queues of people waited to order. 3 other staff members just standing around, but only 1 of those came over to check if any of us wanted to order... make sure you give yourself a lot of time before the show if you are planning to eat here. There were no empty tables so i only bought fries and ended up sitting on a cushion in the book corner (I arrived 50+ minutes before the 630pm show).
Limited seating space, lots of very large tables for 4-6 people with 1 or 2 people at them (instead of multiple 2-4 people tables). Poorly designed. Saw quite a few people awkwardly holding their food as there was nowhere to sit, and the tables they did have were not equipped for multiple groups to share due to the round design.
But it's an improvement on the 1 star I gave them 8 months ago, when they were advertising food and then told me at the bar that the menus they'd put out were for future use (refurbishments had not completed yet). Ridiculous.

Nice bar and kitchen below the Royal Court theatre. It was very busy before a show so definitely book ahead. There's a really decent drinks range for every taste at usual London prices. The food, considering the limited time the kitchen is open is good, mostly plant based. I went for a few small plates (3 for £13 or so) which were a perfect pre-theatre snack between two.
The service is quick, efficient and friendly. Even if you're not visiting the theatre here it's well worth a visit as it has a great atmosphere...just check the limited opening times.
Adam - 2 years ago
Be warned - the wine they serve by the glass is from a keg. My friend complained about the odd taste. The bartender shrugged her shoulders and didn't offer a replacement. I felt obliged to buy our group a bottle... which turned out to be overpriced. This didn't feel good enough for an established theatre bar.
Clare Bloomer - 2 years ago
I ordered a margarita and it was very sour and tasted quite synthetic. I returned to the bar and there was not an apology nor an offer to remake it. Poor customer service and low quality of drinks.
(The manager commented on my review straight away, encouraging me to be in touch and I did indeed, and haven't heard anything from them for a week. This attitude can be considered as another evidence of poor customer service!).

A charming pub in the heart of Belgravia, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The selection of draughts is excellent, with plenty of options to suit different tastes. Outdoor seating adds to the appeal, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a drink on a sunny day.

I met a sober friend here for a drink. A pint of diet Coke cost him £6.75 which I think is just disgraceful. Soft drinks should not be the same price as beer. Other than that its a nice pub but I won't go back there with my mate or meet anyone who doesn't drink alcohol there.

The bar staff were on point. A really nice welcome and a lovely disposition.
Didn’t try the food but it looked lovely.
A really nice, friendly, local pub perfect for those just off Sloane Sq.

A delightful, simple and friendly pub offering a fine selection of beers both keg and cask. Service is bright and cheerful. The eponymous Duke is celebrated here with pictures adorning the walls and a fireplace, perhaps similar to the one whence his violin was consigned. The rest, as they say is history. A lovely pub to Pop into for a drink or two.

Like walking in to a Parisian restaurant. Perfect food for a group of 6 of us (2 gluten free).
Staff were helpful and kind but crucially not overly attentive. House wine is delicious.
Highly recommend French onion soup & the crème brûlée
Merci!

We had a truly wonderful dining experience here. The restaurant has a warm and cozy atmosphere, with a charming rustic décor and thoughtful little touches that make you feel at home. The seating area is decorated with patterned fabrics, cushions, and soft lighting, which creates a welcoming and intimate setting.
The food was excellent from start to finish. We began with classic French starters – the escargots baked in herb butter were perfectly prepared, and the asparagus with hollandaise was fresh and delicious. For mains, we had a grilled salmon with lemon and sauce on the side, and a rich chicken and mushroom dish in creamy sauce – both full of flavour and cooked with great care. Everything was beautifully presented on traditional plates that added to the authentic feel.
Desserts were a highlight – the crème brûlée was perfectly caramelised, and the vanilla ice cream was smooth and refreshing.
Service was attentive, friendly, and at just the right pace. The wine complemented the dishes beautifully, and the overall experience was one of relaxed enjoyment.
This is a restaurant that combines charm, atmosphere, and excellent food. Highly recommended – we will definitely be returning.

We went on a Saturday afternoon and were greeted very warmly. Amazing bread served straight away with very cute menus and plates/ cutlery. The food was served with perfect spaces between portions and had so much flavour. Stunning atmosphere and very friendly staff. Pricing also very fair! Very highly recommend!!

Come for the atmosphere, not the food. A dark-ish, iconic, quietly bustling restaurant with an old Parisian feel worth the price of my overly salted escargot and glasses of so-so French white. Lovely wait staff but food needs work as tastes from
my table mates proved. Reservations are a must even singly.

I had the chicken fan favorite and it was amazing. The salad was also nice. The meni is pricy but worth ot for organic food seekers.

This organic food store is really great🤍They have very tasty salads made with fresh and healthy ingredients. I like that the calories are clearly shown, so it’s easy to choose something that fits your diet. Everything feels natural and good for you, and there are lots of healthy options to try. It’s the perfect place for anyone who enjoys fresh and organic food.

I really enjoy what Daylesford offers and visit occasionally, as although it is expensive, the food quality is usually worth it. However, on my last visit we ordered two soups for a quick lunch and were asked if we’d like bread, mentioning it was extra. We agreed without thinking, only to find we were charged £6 for three plain slices of toasted sourdough—no butter or accompaniment on top of £11 per soup. I understand premium pricing, but this felt excessive and disappointing.

Beautiful decor, white marble and wood. Love the organic / sustainable ethos and that a lot of the produce comes from their farm in the Cotswolds. Everything is beautifully displayed and it makes you feel good just wandering around. The food is always good, some nice wine by the glass, good efficient and friendly service, nice selection of home wares if that’s your thing. Been coming here for years and I still enjoy a visit.

Great food, amazing crab salad followed by king prawn linguine! Only problem was the kitchen was very slow and the steak was overcooked to medium well instead of rare. The service was excellent though.

Possibly amongst one of the best London restaurants I have ever been to. Glorious food, friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. You MUST try the gnocchi with saffron. To die for.
Portions are very generous, reasonably priced and an ideal place for a cozy winter dinner. 10/10 💯 🎯

First visit to this lovely Restaurant. The occasion was to celebrate my wife's birthday. From the moment we arrived until our farewell this was a great dining experience .
The staff were excellent , the service prompt and courteous. My wife's calves liver was the best she has ever had as well my Guineau Fowl.
A lovely touch was the staff singing Happy Birthday without it seeming silly, a nice touch.
Will definately be back. The best Italian Restaurant I have been to in London.
Scott Thomson - 2 months ago
Bit of a mixed bag. Very good liver. But the monkfish was inedible (probably from frozen). Mash watery and tasted like smash, the courgette fritters must have been hanging around the kitchen for a long time. The claimed chocolate "souffle" isn't a proper souffle at all. The pasta seemed perfectly fine. Service is excellent as it the atmosphere. Suggest if you go avoid the fish and stick with pasta and don't have dessert.

I had such a wonderful time at Hunan. I’m a huge fan of the no menu concept as I eat everything and love the flexibility it gives the kitchen. Every item I ate was delicious and balanced and was served at the perfect temperature. Highlights for me were the broth served at the start, the pork in a bag and the xiao long bao. The noodles were also so simple but packed such a punch in flavour, I could’ve eaten more and more. Considering the amount of courses, the portion sizes and flavours all balanced out well. Nothing was too overpowering and we were given a chilli oil that added a wonderful kick if needed. We all had a few cocktails which were all excellent. Service was fantastic and the team even sang happy birthday to my friend. Overall it was a brilliant and unique experience I would recommend, and would try again.
Trevor - 3 weeks ago
The food was delicious, so many courses but the perfect amount of food. We especially liked the broth at the start, the pork cooked in a bag and the bao. The fried beans were also knockout. And the handmade noodles with the main!! The staff were so friendly and welcoming. I would definitely come back.

Had a great experience at Hunan! The set menu offers a real taste of authentic Chinese food, and you can tell a lot of care goes into the dishes. The staff were super friendly and attentive, which made the meal even better.
A few dishes could use a bit of improvement flavor-wise, but overall everything was tasty and nicely presented. The only downside was the bathroom — it wasn’t very well equipped and could definitely use a little upgrade.
Still, it’s a cozy spot with great service and a menu that feels genuinely Chinese. I’d definitely come back again once they make a few small tweaks!
FAISAL S - 3 months ago
Absolutely the most fun dinner! Everyone who works there is super attentive and lovely.
The sampling menu showcased some very local English ingredients reimagined under a Chinese lens, resulting in very flavourful bites.
We thought that maybe some of them (in sequence) utilised the same seasoning/spices, making them less distinguishable. Mains were super delicious, massive portions! Would definitely recommend the stir-fried handmade noodles.
Oh and desserts were heavenly!! As a life long lover of fried banana, definitely a highlight.
It is quite an expensive meal, but worth it so save for special occasions.

As a local, I’ve been to Colbert a few times, always hoping it will finally live up to its reputation. Unfortunately, yesterday was no different.
The whole experience feels transactional rather than welcoming. The host is consistently unapproachable. Unfriendly, unsmiling, and setting the tone for the rest of the visit. Most of the waiting staff (with the exception of a lovely Black lady) looked bored and disengaged.
Our table wasn’t cleaned properly between dishes, and no napkins were offered with dessert. Are guests meant to wipe their mouths on the tablecloth?
Service was inexplicably slow, especially given the restaurant was half empty.
We were seated by the window, where a strong draught made the temperature genuinely unpleasant. The waiter shrugged and said there was nothing he could do.
The crowd is mixed: from people quietly enjoying their dinner, to entitled families who shout their way through the meal as if they're in their living room. We were unlucky enough to be next to the latter.
The food is hit or miss. The beetroot salad was forgettable: small and lacking flavour. The steak entrecôte was fine but unremarkable, and the fries were burnt and overcooked. The banana split was the only thing that genuinely impressed.
Every time I return, I hope the experience will have improved. It never does.

Lovely French restaurant with very polite and attentive staff. The atmosphere is pleasant and welcoming, and the dishes were absolutely delicious. A touch of light background music would be a lovely finishing detail and make the experience even more perfect.
Thank you.

Simply the Best. Set in "Billionaires' Row" of Belgravia meets Sloane Square. For the last four years my fav is lunch here and I had many of them, always in the restaurant inside, all as 3 course a la carte, both summer and winter edition. Colbert is Parisian style brasserie that serves well established French specialities. Chicken liver parfait was extraordinary, artichoke cream soups, steak, duck confite, chocolate eclair, Tarte tatain, cheese cake with forest fruit warm compote on the side.
And selection of guests is a feast for the eyes - only locals of Belgravia and Chelsea - known as Sloanes, with impeccable manners inside out.
Ohhh yes they always find a place even if I am in without the reservation, or change table to my preference.
I wish every day would be Colbert Day. So Santa get on work now 🎁

Visited for dinner and ordered the beef wellington and lemon sole for mains. The beef wellington was average as it was slightly overcooked on top, but the mashed potatoes were excellent. The lemon sole was tasty, but it felt overpriced. Carrot and Peas were lacking taste, very bland. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were accommodating enough to give us our preferred seating.

A very delicious restaurant and café. The service is a bit slow, but the food is tasty. It’s famous for its cheesecake and croissants. I recommend it for breakfast or as an afternoon café. The outdoor seating is lovely, although the service is average and the wait can be long because the place is always busy. Still, I recommend visiting for the quality of the food.

While me and my friends walking around the area, enter Côte to grab some coffee and have desert, although we haven’t reserved earlier but they accommodate us and give us a 45 minutes time which was more than enough for us. We ordered tea, coffee and the famous cream caramel and all were nice. Their service was great and the staff were nice and attentive.

The croque OG (£12.50) felt poor value when you compare it to the Brasserie Breakfast proposition on the same menu. For that price, it should be cooked and finished properly, not something that comes out in 2 minutes and eats like a pre-made item reheated quickly. The edges were over-toasted/bitter (visible in the photo), while the top was barely gratinéed, and the filling was minimal. If you’re charging near “full breakfast” money, the execution needs to match.
