We were in London for some business. Looked around and saw this restaurant. It was definitely a good choice. The service from when we arrived to when we left was all really fantastic. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. The food was really good. Full of flavour and really well presented. We tried a few things from the menu and shared. They were all absolutely perfect. Coffee is excellent too. Service was fast, despite being very busy. All really great, thanks so much for having us!

Dear Andrei and team
Sincere thanks for making us a wonderful wedding in October. You made everything so stress free for us. All of our guests are still raving about the food but also the service was excellent even though you had a busy restaurant. You made us feel like VIP’s, even greeting us at the door yourself. We are so sorry it has taken us so long to put this into words, but we have been telling anyone who will listen how much we are glad we chose Manicomio for our special day. I wish I could remember our waitresses names, they were lovely. They enjoyed our ottolengi wedding cake :)
Lots of love

For the 2nd time I’ve had the most fantastic experience!
Service; I was greeted by Nuria such a warm, welcoming, friendly and professional spirit. I have mobility issues and there was nothing she didn’t do to accommodate me. Poonam & Seymon also were so attentive, accommodating, professional & made me feel like family. They all did. The GM Andrey is extremely deserving of his position! There are no words for his expertise in customer service!
Food; I went back as I had a great starter of steak tartare with duck egg yolk, they didn’t have this as they are a seasonal restaurant which I really appreciated. I had salmon tartare to start, swordfish for main which was extremely succulent & finished the night with a great cheese board, I highly recommend.
Cocktails; the margaritas were flowing, very fresh & not too strong, but enough to enhance my whole experience.
I can not recommend this place enough, fantastic place, food, drinks & ambiance.
If you’re anywhere in London it’s worth the travel. Absolutely LOVE THIS PLACE 🩷✨

Dear Andrei & Adam,
Myself and Liam want to thank you both for such a perfect wedding reception. Everything looked stunning, the food was amazing and all the wait staff did a fantastic job and were so lovely. You both did an incredible job of organising and putting it all together.
Sincerely, thank you so much. We look forward to eating at Manicomio again as will now always have a special place in our hearts.
Thank you,

Elegant. Chic. Tasty food.
Lovely place in Duke of York Square where I hosted a small group of two after a business meeting.
Staff were very attentive and friendly. They catered for my allergy requirements and vegetarian food request. The wine was extraordinary and we had a very nice meal.
Do try the courgette fries on the side. Rare to find these days but they are one of my favourites.
Perfect setting for a romantic meal, with friends or business contacts. Would definitely come again soon.

Very slow bar service. One staff member took just under 9 minutes to make 2 coffees, while 2 queues of people waited to order. 3 other staff members just standing around, but only 1 of those came over to check if any of us wanted to order... make sure you give yourself a lot of time before the show if you are planning to eat here. There were no empty tables so i only bought fries and ended up sitting on a cushion in the book corner (I arrived 50+ minutes before the 630pm show).
Limited seating space, lots of very large tables for 4-6 people with 1 or 2 people at them (instead of multiple 2-4 people tables). Poorly designed. Saw quite a few people awkwardly holding their food as there was nowhere to sit, and the tables they did have were not equipped for multiple groups to share due to the round design.
But it's an improvement on the 1 star I gave them 8 months ago, when they were advertising food and then told me at the bar that the menus they'd put out were for future use (refurbishments had not completed yet). Ridiculous.

Nice bar and kitchen below the Royal Court theatre. It was very busy before a show so definitely book ahead. There's a really decent drinks range for every taste at usual London prices. The food, considering the limited time the kitchen is open is good, mostly plant based. I went for a few small plates (3 for £13 or so) which were a perfect pre-theatre snack between two.
The service is quick, efficient and friendly. Even if you're not visiting the theatre here it's well worth a visit as it has a great atmosphere...just check the limited opening times.
Adam - 2 years ago
Be warned - the wine they serve by the glass is from a keg. My friend complained about the odd taste. The bartender shrugged her shoulders and didn't offer a replacement. I felt obliged to buy our group a bottle... which turned out to be overpriced. This didn't feel good enough for an established theatre bar.

My favourite pub to visit when in the area. The service is great as well as the food which is reasonably priced for this neck of the woods. It also has a nice atmosphere and outside tables if the weather is good.

Great back street pub in Chelsea but could do with music on instead of TV's superb cosy spot with leather armchairs and a nice fire... if you fancy a nice buzzy pub with all that then give it a visit.

Nice corner pub in the heart of Belgravia sporting an array of Duke of Wellington themed decor. Good selection of ales and dog friendly too. Plenty of space to sit outside and watch the world go by.

A delightful, simple and friendly pub offering a fine selection of beers both keg and cask. Service is bright and cheerful. The eponymous Duke is celebrated here with pictures adorning the walls and a fireplace, perhaps similar to the one whence his violin was consigned. The rest, as they say is history. A lovely pub to Pop into for a drink or two.

To start, had one of the best french onion soups ever!! Then the main course: steak and fries which was amazing! I ordered it medium (as you should ;)) and the meat was very tasty and tender
The staff welcomed us and took their time explaining the menu
Superb experience, definitely recommend!

We absolutely adored the atmosphere and soul of this French restaurant.
Firstly, our server brought a lovely basket of fresh bread and butter. For starter, I went for the Ratatouille chaud which was a beautifully flavourful, yet simple dish. I then had the rump of lamb and my friend had the steak, both had a lovely flavour but were a bit chewy unfortunately. Our other friend who had the beef bourguignon, however, and said it was perfection!
A lovely overall experience though, which makes you feel like you’ve taken a little trip to the French countryside!

We have always had a wonderful dining experience at La Poule Au Pot. Friendly service and fantastic French cuisine. Some dishes we've enjoyed include the escargots, pan-fried foie gras and French onion soup. The bread served with the meal is always fresh and warm.

Amazing french restaurant. The service was great, the waiters friendly and personable. The food was superb. The asparugus starter was a little expensive for what it was buyt the rest of the food was worth every penny. A good variety of food on the menu and wines to pair. An amazing restuarant for a treat.

The only unforgettable thing that was the highlight of my evening was the incredible foie gras with jelly, a true delight for the taste buds. The atmosphere, enhanced by gentle candlelight and indulgent touches like lush hand towels in the washroom, elevates the experience. Although the menu may seem a bit confusing initially and priced on the higher end, the exquisite flavors and ambiance make it worthwhile for any culinary enthusiast.

Beautiful decor, white marble and wood. Love the organic / sustainable ethos and that a lot of the produce comes from their farm in the Cotswolds. Everything is beautifully displayed and it makes you feel good just wandering around. The food is always good, some nice wine by the glass, good efficient and friendly service, nice selection of home wares if that’s your thing. Been coming here for years and I still enjoy a visit.

Possibly amongst one of the best London restaurants I have ever been to. Glorious food, friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. You MUST try the gnocchi with saffron. To die for.

We went for dinner with the family. The waiters were very kind and willing to help you choose the best dish. The crab salad was amazing, as was the simple Napolitana spaghetti. We will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu

Absolutely delicious. We arrived at 9.30pm on a Thursday evening and the place was full - that says something! Each of our dishes was really amazing, and I’d 100% recommend coming here. The livers and veal medallions were stand out dishes for me, but really can’t fault any. Waiters are great, not too attentive, just right. Thank you!

Buratta with pea starter to die for, scallops were decent... but unfortunately the pasta was far too salty and the sea bass was very over cooked and dry. Good wine list. Service was so slow and lacking, so we gave up on desserts. Happy to pay for quality food and service but this missed the mark by quite a way.

Enoteca Turi is one of the restaurants ‘we go’ (as Italians) when we miss our country. This place has made and will continue to make history in the London food and wine scene. The wine list is one of the most extensive outside of Italy, it’s super fun and price are very honest! Big thanks to all the staff that made our experience unique!!

We had our wedding reception dinner at Enoteca Turi, and we are so happy with our choice! Everyone there is so friendly and the food was amazing. We went to visit a couple times before to see the space and ask questions, everyone we spoke to were more than happy to help us out and made the process a lot smoother.
On the day when we arrived after the ceremony, everything was set up already and looked amazing. it was really great to not have to worry about setting anything up and the team were really accommodating. They even recommended a florist for us so the flowers were arranged and delivered.
Gosia could not have been faulted, from responding to emails and answering questions to making sure that no glass was empty. She really made the evening relaxed and fun. All of our guests commented on how great she was.
All of the table was handled from the flowers, personalised menus and name cards. All of the food was delicious and everyone enjoyed it. It also visually looked incredible and was timed perfectly. We were able to bring our own wedding cake which was a lovely touch and had help from the team to cut it and serve.
We couldn’t be happier with our choice to have our wedding here, and would definitely recommend for anyone, looking for an intimate and romantic dinner with their loved ones to celebrate their big day!

An Unforgettable Dining Experience at Hunan.
Hunan is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked into the bright and welcoming atmosphere, we knew we were in for something special. What sets Hunan apart is their unique approach to dining, no à la carte menu. Instead, the servers took the time to discuss our preferences, dislikes, and any dietary restrictions before tailoring the dishes just for us. This bespoke experience made the evening feel truly personal and refined.
The food was simply outstanding. Every dish was a perfect blend of flavours, textures, and creativity. We were continually surprised and delighted with the variety of courses that just kept coming, each one excellent in its own right. The attention to detail and commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients were evident in every bite.
The staff were warm, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. They guided us through the experience with enthusiasm and genuine care, making us feel like honoured guests.
Hunan is more than just a meal; it’s an adventure in flavour, a celebration of creativity, and a lesson in impeccable service. If you’re in London and want a dining experience like no other, this is the place to be.
We’ll certainly be back for more!

I was very excited to for my visit to Hunan as they idea of not choosing the dishes you would eat was very appealing to me. It was an interesting concept and the restaurant is in a really nice part of London so the walk there was very pleasant.
It is an expensive restaurant so you expected a certain level of quality of service, and I can say that, for us, the service was exceptional. The food was also delicious and overall I had a wonderful time.
However, for the restaurant price point, the presentation was lacking. Tattered menus and poorly presented dishes that you could find at much cheaper restaurants, that was not what I was expecting. The restaurant was established in 1982 and it honestly feels like it hasn't been updated since then.
Presentation really would go a long way with this restaurant because the food is good. A little more care with the plating process and some new menus would make a world of difference here.
If you have the money and you just want a relaxing evening of minimal decision making, excellent service, and good food, then Hunan is lovely. If there was an update on the presentation, I would definitely try it again.
If you are looking to make a loved one feel special or you want to impress a client, there are better places in London, even if you want a more reserved and relaxed vibe.

We went for lunch there, recommended by a friend whom he had never cooked and liked the idea of no menu.
Not to worry, if there are ingredients or food that you don't like or allergy to it, the staff will look after you.
My friend has been there a few times for dinner but for lunch was his first time too. The foods are top quality. The only thing that could improve was the soup, which was served with a bamboo cup. It is quite tricky to enjoy it using a traditional chinese spoon.
L N - 3 months ago
I had high expectations after hearing such glowing reviews about Hunan, and I’m happy to say it absolutely delivered. The fried beans, lamb, and black cod were outstanding, showcasing a depth of flavor and perfectly executed preparation. The rest of the tasting menu was equally impressive, with each dish offering a delightful blend of textures and tastes. While the restaurant itself is small and the atmosphere somewhat understated, the food more than makes up for it—each bite leaves a lasting impression. Hunan is a true gem for those who prioritize taste over ambiance.
