My partner took me for dinner and it was nice and welcoming and in a nice situation. The food was tasty and we enjoyed each course (bread was delicious). Sadly the servers were a little to attentive and it was a little to much.
Nice meal and nice place. I know service charge is discretionary but you feel bad taking it off and at 15% added to the bill is a lot on an expensive meal.
12.5% is still high but 15% means you pay around £20 extra on a meal for 2 people. That sadly puts me off, I won’t ask them to take it off as the service was ok overall.

What an amazing place to host a private dinner / event! I hosted a hen do here and the venue was beyond perfect, very accommodating and helpful and ultimately a brilliant space and meal! The staff were exceptional, very friendly and made the event run very smoothly- special shoutout to Andrei ahead of the event and Judy and her team on the night. If you are considering booking I would say don’t hold back - perfect restaurant!

I hosted our wedding reception dinner in the Conservatory private room and everything was just perfect. The food, the service, the event managers leading up to the event… everything was 10/10 and I couldn’t recommend hosting an event here more!
Also a big thank you to our server for the event (didn’t get her name but a lady with blonde hair above the shoulders). She was amazing and somehow managed to keep tabs on everyone throughout the evening. She really made everything run seamlessly.

We were in London for some business. Looked around and saw this restaurant. It was definitely a good choice. The service from when we arrived to when we left was all really fantastic. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. The food was really good. Full of flavour and really well presented. We tried a few things from the menu and shared. They were all absolutely perfect. Coffee is excellent too. Service was fast, despite being very busy. All really great, thanks so much for having us!

Very slow bar service. One staff member took just under 9 minutes to make 2 coffees, while 2 queues of people waited to order. 3 other staff members just standing around, but only 1 of those came over to check if any of us wanted to order... make sure you give yourself a lot of time before the show if you are planning to eat here. There were no empty tables so i only bought fries and ended up sitting on a cushion in the book corner (I arrived 50+ minutes before the 630pm show).
Limited seating space, lots of very large tables for 4-6 people with 1 or 2 people at them (instead of multiple 2-4 people tables). Poorly designed. Saw quite a few people awkwardly holding their food as there was nowhere to sit, and the tables they did have were not equipped for multiple groups to share due to the round design.
But it's an improvement on the 1 star I gave them 8 months ago, when they were advertising food and then told me at the bar that the menus they'd put out were for future use (refurbishments had not completed yet). Ridiculous.

Nice bar and kitchen below the Royal Court theatre. It was very busy before a show so definitely book ahead. There's a really decent drinks range for every taste at usual London prices. The food, considering the limited time the kitchen is open is good, mostly plant based. I went for a few small plates (3 for £13 or so) which were a perfect pre-theatre snack between two.
The service is quick, efficient and friendly. Even if you're not visiting the theatre here it's well worth a visit as it has a great atmosphere...just check the limited opening times.
Adam - 2 years ago
Be warned - the wine they serve by the glass is from a keg. My friend complained about the odd taste. The bartender shrugged her shoulders and didn't offer a replacement. I felt obliged to buy our group a bottle... which turned out to be overpriced. This didn't feel good enough for an established theatre bar.
Clare Bloomer - a year ago
I ordered a margarita and it was very sour and tasted quite synthetic. I returned to the bar and there was not an apology nor an offer to remake it. Poor customer service and low quality of drinks.
(The manager commented on my review straight away, encouraging me to be in touch and I did indeed, and haven't heard anything from them for a week. This attitude can be considered as another evidence of poor customer service!).

We had a truly wonderful dining experience here. The restaurant has a warm and cozy atmosphere, with a charming rustic décor and thoughtful little touches that make you feel at home. The seating area is decorated with patterned fabrics, cushions, and soft lighting, which creates a welcoming and intimate setting.
The food was excellent from start to finish. We began with classic French starters – the escargots baked in herb butter were perfectly prepared, and the asparagus with hollandaise was fresh and delicious. For mains, we had a grilled salmon with lemon and sauce on the side, and a rich chicken and mushroom dish in creamy sauce – both full of flavour and cooked with great care. Everything was beautifully presented on traditional plates that added to the authentic feel.
Desserts were a highlight – the crème brûlée was perfectly caramelised, and the vanilla ice cream was smooth and refreshing.
Service was attentive, friendly, and at just the right pace. The wine complemented the dishes beautifully, and the overall experience was one of relaxed enjoyment.
This is a restaurant that combines charm, atmosphere, and excellent food. Highly recommended – we will definitely be returning.

We went on a Saturday afternoon and were greeted very warmly. Amazing bread served straight away with very cute menus and plates/ cutlery. The food was served with perfect spaces between portions and had so much flavour. Stunning atmosphere and very friendly staff. Pricing also very fair! Very highly recommend!!

High-end service without it feeling presumptuous.
Excellent food. The duck confit was fantastic, and the salmon terrine was a perfect start. My colleague said that the creme brulee was one of the best desserts he has ever had.
Prices were very reasonable.
Highly recommend if you are in the area.

What an extraordinary French restaurant!! The seating is intimate with outdoor indoor and downstairs. The decor is quintessential French with flower baskets, candles, mismatched flatware. The food is amazing. The two or three course option is very reasonable for such quality and generous helpings. A great wine list, wonderful service all make an exceptional dinning experience. Truly special.

To start, had one of the best french onion soups ever!! Then the main course: steak and fries which was amazing! I ordered it medium (as you should ;)) and the meat was very tasty and tender
The staff welcomed us and took their time explaining the menu
Superb experience, definitely recommend!

This organic food store is really great🤍They have very tasty salads made with fresh and healthy ingredients. I like that the calories are clearly shown, so it’s easy to choose something that fits your diet. Everything feels natural and good for you, and there are lots of healthy options to try. It’s the perfect place for anyone who enjoys fresh and organic food.

Beautiful decor, white marble and wood. Love the organic / sustainable ethos and that a lot of the produce comes from their farm in the Cotswolds. Everything is beautifully displayed and it makes you feel good just wandering around. The food is always good, some nice wine by the glass, good efficient and friendly service, nice selection of home wares if that’s your thing. Been coming here for years and I still enjoy a visit.

Fabulous quality foods at terrifying prices.
The staff are always welcoming, pleasant and helpful.
But...£3 a scone and they've reduced in size. £6 for a loaf - and they've made them smaller, too. Greed from the top management, a step too far.
The area in front of the deli/till needs rethinking. On a Saturday morning it is chaotic with most people not knowing where to queue, food displays taking up too much space and random people buying tea/coffee.
I now go much less frequently and, with the obscene pricing, buy fewer products.

Great food, amazing crab salad followed by king prawn linguine! Only problem was the kitchen was very slow and the steak was overcooked to medium well instead of rare. The service was excellent though.

Possibly amongst one of the best London restaurants I have ever been to. Glorious food, friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. You MUST try the gnocchi with saffron. To die for.
Portions are very generous, reasonably priced and an ideal place for a cozy winter dinner. 10/10 💯 🎯

My wife and I happened upon Caraffini our first night in London and we could tell immediately it was going to be an authentic Italian dining experience. Despite not having a reservation that first night (and they were very busy) we were still warmly greeted, promptly seated outside, and provided with impeccable service. I ordered the gnocchi dish (gnocchi with spicy salami, pistachio, cream and saffron) and it was the best gnocchi I've ever had (and we've been to Italy many times). The service was friendly and attentive, the food made with the highest quality ingredients and attention to detail, and the atmosphere very welcoming.
We loved our experience so much that we booked a table for our last night in London so I could savor that gnocchi again. They recognized us from our first night (something that rarely happens at busy London restaurants) and warmly welcomed us, treating us like family - a true sign of good management infused with authentic Italian culture.
I would fly back from the Seattle to London just to have that gnocchi again - and I probably will. :)
Thank you to the team at Caraffini - you made our first and last night meals in London so wonderful. We hope to see you again!

We are celebrating the birthday here, the food and service (thank you Andril) are amazing. The owner also offers us special plum juice to try. We feel so welcomed and happy through the experience. Definitely will visit again!

Absolutely the most fun dinner! Everyone who works there is super attentive and lovely.
The sampling menu showcased some very local English ingredients reimagined under a Chinese lens, resulting in very flavourful bites.
We thought that maybe some of them (in sequence) utilised the same seasoning/spices, making them less distinguishable. Mains were super delicious, massive portions! Would definitely recommend the stir-fried handmade noodles.
Oh and desserts were heavenly!! As a life long lover of fried banana, definitely a highlight.
It is quite an expensive meal, but worth it so save for special occasions.

Sheliza Manji - 2 months ago
I thought a ten course blind tasting menu would be something very special but frankly it wasn't. Felt like they made it on mass and put it on tables as and when.
The staff didn't really explain what the dishes were or how to eat them, it was just sort of dumped on the table at speed.
The food was all delicious and you could tell the quality but I wouldn't recommend it from an experience perspective as other places do it better.
Rumina Ali - 5 months ago
One of a kind, must do dining experience! The most interesting thing is that there is no menu and the chefs solely rely on your preferences. The staff will continue to serve courses until you tell them that you are finished. As a vegetarian, we enjoyed over 19 courses that fit our dietary preferences, and nearly all of them were exceptionally good. There was a wide array of flavors from sweet to spicy or just unique that we thoroughly enjoyed. I highly recommend this restaurant and would dine here again!

In London, this is about as close as you’ll get to a real French Brasserie, and one like many in Paris, set within a beautifully designed Art Nouveau interior.
The highs: the food is consistently good. The atmosphere (dependent, in part, on where, and at what time, you‘re seated) is lively, relaxed, busy, cosy or rushed. The Art Nouveau decor transports you to another time, the old newspapers, reviews and black&white photography (featuring celebrities and theatre luvvies) that cover the walls adds to the glamour. The varied seating: bar tables, tables for two, large round and booth tables, means you’ve a great choice to suit your needs. Some tables are kept for walk-ins and there’s usually always space at the bar. Great location for shopping or for the theatre (next door), and right beside the Tube.
The not so highs: service, front of house and waiters, a bit hit and miss. Attentiveness wanting, especially when it’s busy (so most of the time). You’ll get more attention if you demand it or ask politely or repeatedly. With a 15% service charge this should be much better. You’ll also be treated a little better if you build up a rapport with the staff, taking time to share some humour and suchlike. Multiple aircon units positioned rather low and pointed directly at tables is a little uncomfortable and off-putting, avoid these areas.
Other mentions: go visit the toilets! You’re good at a table for about an hour and a half, then you’ll usually have to shift. Dogs are welcomed. Come early for breakfast, late for lunch and early for dinner and you won’t be overwhelmed or rushed. Preferably book in advance, and if you’ve to cancel, inform them otherwise you’ll be charged (heavily). Coffee is good not great. Croissants are great (not good!). Food quality is high. Try it out more than once, different food, different spaces, different times. Recommended.

A very delicious restaurant and café. The service is a bit slow, but the food is tasty. It’s famous for its cheesecake and croissants. I recommend it for breakfast or as an afternoon café. The outdoor seating is lovely, although the service is average and the wait can be long because the place is always busy. Still, I recommend visiting for the quality of the food.

I think Colbert is my favourite restaurant in London. I went for a snack and a hot chocolate yesterday but I have been here for date and just to hang out too. I love the croque madame, the kedgeree is delicious and the banana split is the best. Great venue in summer or winter and it serves food until quite late too. What a place!

It is one of our favorite places in London. Food is excellent. You have to try their in-house cured salmon. Service is impeccable. Their Pavlova was the best dessert I’ve ever had. It’s a fantastic Art Nouveau building. It’s such a pleasure to be there.

A true Slaone classic — a timeless French restaurant loved by everyone from young to old. The menu is impressively wide, offering something for every taste, along with a great selection of wines and beers. Both indoor and outdoor seating areas are available, and the outdoor space is especially lovely, which is why we keep coming back. The heaters can sometimes be a bit weak on colder days, but overall, it’s still a wonderful place to enjoy a meal.

Front of the restaurant is nice - but if you end up at the back then it feels like a windowless work canteen ... with the a/c running uncomfortably cold. Walked in without a reservation and had to wait 5 minutes to then be taken to the back where it was mostly empty... hmm.
Had a vegetarian burger and although it tasted ok (just) - it was not a looker - and the chips that came with it were a little mean; that said - I did take up the menu statement of "Free-Flow Fries until defeat" and ordered more - so not so bad.
Cotes needs to try harder!!

Everything was incredible, my friend and I had such a lovely time! Domenico was so attentive and even noticed when we were running low on fries and gave us a free refill! He even let my friend charge her phone behind the bar as it had lost battery. Everyone is so friendly here and really makes the experience 100/10! I can’t wait to come back

Lovely atmosphere and friendly service. The French onion soup was rich, the potato gratin creamy, and the dessert was excellent. The only small downside was that the pork was a bit dry. Overall, a very nice dining experience!

Went to see this year's "Chelsea in Bloom". Was attracted by the flower decoration outside this restaurant. Got in and ordered the set menu. Enjoyed all the dishes we ordered apart from the Steak Tartare (not a fan of raw meat). Pork belly was very tender and the veg and fruit came with it was definitely a plus! The vanilla and chocolate ice-cream was also lovely👍.
Pretty good value for money, considering its location. The staff are all very nice and friendly. It is a very busy place, so a bit wait for the food and the dining table is on the small side.
