I surprised my husband with a stay at Number Sixteen for his birthday and it was nothing short of fabulous! From the moment we arrived the staff were attentive and couldn’t do more to make our stay both comfortable and one to remember which was reinforced by the surprise birthday fizz and chocolates which were bought up to our room moments after arrival. The room was beautiful, a home away from home but with that luxury twist even our puppy was welcome to stay and well looked after with his own dog bed and treats!!
The breakfast was delicious and delivered to us in bed at a time of our choosing which made our stay that bit more special and relaxing. Next time we need to unwind or celebrate we will certainly be back!!

I had the most delightful afternoon tea at The Orangery, it is the best I have tried in London. The service was exceptional, the space beautiful and relaxed, and the food delicious. So pleasantly surprised and feels like a hidden gem.
Sophie Atkinson - 3 months ago
Indeed the afternoon tea was lovely. The clotted cream was so good that we asked for a second helping! There were four pieces of sandwiches per person and each sandwich came with a different type of bread. They were all very good. Then there were the sweets. My favourite was the meringue tart. I could have another!
The hotel itself is very discreet. Located amongst the residential area of onslow gardens, we could have easily missed it if it were not for its name - number sixteen, as it was house number sixteen. Loved the decor as it exuded an understated and calming vibe. Staff was helpful and patient. We asked to be moved from the garden to the inside and they cheerfully obliged. Highly recommend.

A wonderful afternoon tea with delicious food, an array of teas and perfect service from the minute we walked into the foyer - all at a reasonable price. A little gem 🙏❤️

My husband and I only had one night here, but it was a fantastic stay. I highly recommend this hotel. The room was beautiful, and the complimentary breakfast was 5-stars. The staff also was phenomenal.

We had dinner on a Fri evening. The area is nice, central, vibes and atmosphere are good and vibrant. The service is quick and people are friendly. Music is fine as well.
We ordered padron pepper, patatas bravas and prawn. The service was quick and food was delicious. We paired the food with rose wine.
I recommend to stop by, reservations are recommended but we were able to get a table. In means of pricing, it is reasonable compared to location and service. Recommended for dates, single dinners or or for groups!

Visited during weekday lunchtime. Had the weekday offer for 3 tapas, quality is average but all of them seemed to be served cold which we didn’t expect. Octopus dish was really nice and flavourful really enjoyed it. The cod was quite bland, after the meal we asked the waiter we did not taste any truffle in the dish, and realised the other staff must have forgotten to put truffle on top after serving, but we were still charged full price for the dish. We asked after receiving the bill again and the manager offered a discount in the end

A great place to enjoy tapas, we tried the 5 for £22 tapas menu, portions are on the small side but perfect to share with a drink! We were able to sit outside on a damp February day, with lovely heaters on! Felt like a real treat. Staff friendly and efficient. Sangria (red) was amazing! Highly recommend a visit!

Very nice place to stay in South Kensington. Conveniently located next to the South Kensington station on the tube, next to lots of restaurants and cafes to grab a bite to eat or a cozy beverage. My room was well-stocked, clean, and neatly decorated. The tub was FABULOUS – big plus. Staff was friendly and courteous. Only downside is the in-room coffeemaker didn't quite work (kettle was fine, though!). I have no doubt the staff would've sorted this for me immediately if I'd reached out, but I was so close to numerous cafes that I just chose to pop right out for a cup instead. Nice place to stay-- I'll probably be back, and will let any friends traveling to London know about this place as well.

The Pelham was a perfect location for a quick trip to London. Situated right outside the SoKen tube station, with dozens of restaurants -- including the best Vietnamese we have ever had -- just steps away. Short walk to the V&A, moderate walk to Kensington High Street, Kensington Gardens/Palace, Harrods, etc., and on one of the most useful Underground lines. The hotel itself is lovely, our upgraded room was beautiful and despite being on the front side overlooking Cromwell Place, delightfully quiet. Exceptionally helpful concierge staff.

The Pelham London is a gem of a boutique hotel. Anna, Aswathy, Nazarene, Reaz, Ephraim and the entire team is world class and ensure that you not only enjoy but are truly delighted by your stay here. I’ve stayed in many hotels in London and what puts this one over the top is the care with which they treat each guest. And the rooms are gorgeous and very comfortable. The drawing room and library are beautiful and a great space to have afternoon tea or journal. Everything from the honesty bar to the unique touches in each room make this such a special place to stay. And South Kensington is a delightful neighborhood with a lot of Italian, Spanish and French restaurants, shops and bakeries. I highly recommend staying at the Pelham for your next London trip!

Friendly staff serving delicious good quality food. I had the Zen Garden £16.95 Balance of Yin and Yang: broccoli and ginger with prawns in soya sauce and garlic. Delicate dish with lovely fresh ginger. My husband had the Jungle chicken curry. The spiciest curry in the house without coconut milk with wild galangal, bamboo shoots, long beans, and bell pepper.
We were both very satisfied with our meal.

Delightful experience last evening at Daquise. The restaurant feels authentic and rightfully so since it’s been there for decades and hopefully will stay to delight future generations who will appreciate delicious and authentic Polish cuisine.
The waitress was truly fantastic at recommending the perfect dishes to taste the best offerings of the restaurant. Each dish was packed with flavour and perfectly cooked without any unnecessary adornments. We started with their dumplings, three varieties, all tasty. Then we moved onto the starters and the highlight was the potato pancakes with smoked salmon, a pairing that was absolutely perfect. The crispness of the pancakes and the softness of the salmon and the right balance of flavours.
The mains didn’t disappoint, beef goulash was tender with a sauce that was thick but not heavy. Veal escalope had a melt in the mouth texture with a stunning velvety sauce that made you want to mop it up with bread. To finish off the meal we ordered the Apple fritters and the cheesecake. The fritters were one of the best and simple desserts we’ve had. The cheesecake was ok but the fritters truly tasted like something from a grandma’s kitchen made with love.
You won’t be disappointed dining here and the atmosphere adds to the down to earth yet charming vibe to the place.

The food is good but nothing special. If you grew up on food like this, you will get the flavours that will send you back home, but to be honest, for such price and place I expected more.
Zurek soup was something new for me and the flavour was good. Unfortunately, I got an egg shell and it immediately affected my impression.
Pork tenderloin was good with intense mustard sauce. Liver doesn't come with a side so the waiter helpfully suggested ordering something for the side, but I didn't make the right decision going for fried sauerkraut. Better to pair it with mash potatoes. The liver portion was too big, and again, nothing special when it comes to flavour.
The place looks nice and the service is on high level. The seats along the wall are uncomfortable and too high (or the table is too low) so your knees are jammed.

High quality authentic Polish food, excellent service and post war urban yet chic surroundings. Love tiled decor!
Highlights:
Dmeat dumplings, salmon and patato cakes, veal schnitzel, and omg the apple pie!
Sorry, the starters was so delish I did not have time to photo it 😅

Polish cuisine, what more could you want? A restaurant with soul, history (established in 1947), and a unique atmosphere. A place with class and style. Places like this are becoming increasingly rare in London. Delicious food, no-nonsense service, and affordable prices. I highly recommend it.

What an absolute gem of a place. The food is fantastic, with simple, high-quality ingredients cooked beautifully. The restaurant is beautiful - I loved the aesthetic. It feels calm and welcoming without being pretentious. I had the chicken soup and dumplings. Both dishes were full of flavour and made with care.

Food was pretty great. Though butter chicken tasted abit weird, it had a sweet pumpkin taste. Lamb curry was nice, naan and meat platter had good char and was well seasoned. Service was average nothing special. Ambience was nice with warm lighting and a clean interior. In conclusion good food at a pretty hefty price.

I was told to eat the curry in London, so tonight I set out to find an Indian restaurant in South Kensington. I was lucky enough to find Khan's of Kensington and it was WONDERFUL. From the service to the food, I couldn't have asked for better. They had all my favorite dishes and so much more. Definitely recommed!

This was out first time trying indian food and it was amazing. The service was a bit slow but the place is really nice and the food was delicious. As tourists and being new at indian food culture you should note this restaurant does not serve any alcoholic drinks and that everything has at least a medium spice level

Overall, OK experience. Ambiance is lovely, nice warm lighting is comforting. The food was tasty but severely lacking in flavor and barely warm. We ordered butter chicken and Chana masala, the butter chicken was very disappointing. All in all, a good restaurant, but considering how many great choices there on this street alone and the price, it is disappointing.

One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever been to.
The food was absolutely delicious — full of rich flavors and perfectly balanced spices. Every dish we ordered was outstanding.
A special thank you to Noor who was incredibly kind and attentive throughout our visit. His warm hospitality made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
Highly recommended if you’re in London.

We stopped here for lunch after stumbling across the place with my aunt. From the moment we walked in, the welcome was lukewarm at best. No smiles or greeting, just a waiter who pointed us to a table like we were an inconvenience.
The service didn't improve. Our waitress was indifferent and spoke in a tone that felt out of place for a mid-range restaurant. I've genuinely received warmer, more enthusiastic service at a McDonald's. When my aunt asked if the wine on display was the house wine, the waitress replied, "Exactly that," in a noticeably condescending way.
The wine was then served in a glass that looked cloudy, as if it hadn't been properly cleaned. The water glasses were also dusty and had visible fingerprints. We were only given clean ones after another waiter took them from a different table.
The garlic bread was hot and enjoyable. My fettuccine bolognese was disappointing with very little sauce and the pasta was stuck together, as if it had been microwaved. My aunt, however, really liked her lasagna and said she would return for it.

Went before Cirque du Soleil around 5:45pm Tuesday evening. No wait. Lovely ambiance and loved the wood table.
The menu had mostly traditional Italian pasta so I went for the special of the day - black pasta (didn’t say it was made from squid ink), olives, capers, tuna, chili etc. Rating: 6.5/10
If you like capers and olives, you would enjoy this dish. I never order drinks at restaurants but the homemade lemonade under specials caught my eye. I was very disappointed to find that it tastes like cordial and not sour at all. Didn’t even have lemon pulp and defo didn’t taste homemade. Too sweet for my liking
Friend got a risotto which I preferred over mine but it was a bit bland for her as it didn’t have much other than rice.
Overall 6/10, not worth a trip but for this but solid restaurant. Might come back for ragu

Buzzing, beautiful, brilliant restaurant, gives a wonderful authentic and enjoyable vibe, food is served in good time, so many options with the quality being higher than expected.

The pizza dough is far from what you'd expect from an Italian pizza. I didn't like the lasagna either. It's not a good option for a delicious dinner. The soup just had vegetables floating in it; I couldn't taste any flavor.

🍣 I love trying different sushi platters here — the quality is always consistent.
😍 My absolute favorite is the Volcano Roll 🌋
The sauce has a slight sweet-and-spicy kick, the fish is so fresh it literally melts in your mouth, and it looks amazing in photos too 📸
🫶 Foie gras & eel lovers, this is your moment 😄
Their foie gras sushi is a must-order for me every time — perfectly seared, rich and buttery with so much aroma. The eel is also prepared beautifully, super delicate with no fishiness at all. The sweetness of the sauce is just right, and paired with the rice… it’s honestly next level.

I’ve been to DOZO in Soho twice before, so when I found out there’s another branch in South Kensington, I had to try it.
The foie gras hand roll is a must order – crispy on the outside, rich and buttery inside, perfectly balanced with warm rice. The salmon sashimi was impressively thick and very fresh. The Dragon Maki looked amazing and is a great option if you don’t eat raw fish. The unagi rice bowl was slightly on the sweeter side, but really satisfying if you like sweet-savory flavours. The atmosphere feels like a cozy Japanese izakaya and it gets quite busy at dinner time. Around £30 per person and definitely worth it. Would come back again!

Went here because it looked nice and was reasonably priced.
We went in without a booking and found a table for 2 within 10 mins. The seating is in a more traditional Japanese way with some room for your legs. There is also a table for anyone who might not be able to use the other seating although I am not sure if there is enough room for a wheelchair to get through.
We both ordered the spicy beef ramen which came reasonably quickly. The portion size was really good and very filling. The best part, however, was definitely the broth. This is exactly the type of broth that fills your soul and makes your feel warm inside. The beef was also really good, and the noodles were perfectly cooked.
By only small issue would be that the waitress felt a bit too eager to fill my water but other than that the service was excellent.

The grilled unagi had a lightly crisp exterior with a tender, bouncy texture inside,
paired with a perfectly balanced sauce!!
You can immediately tell it is freshly grilled🔥
The foie gras hand roll is a must-try, and both the curry katsu chicken and sashimi were impressive as well.
Overall, the quality was consistently excellent.
If you have been craving authentic, high-quality Japan food, this place is definitely worth visiting🍱✨

Great spot near the V&A!
I visited Dozo after spending the afternoon at the V&A, and it turned out to be the perfect post-museum meal. Their sukiyaki is my absolute favorite – rich, comforting, and full of ingredients. The volcano roll is exactly as dramatic as it sounds – bold, flavorful, and beautifully plated. They also had a half-price promo on it this week, which made it even better. A great little find in South Kensington – especially if you want something warm and satisfying after a long museum day.

This place amazed me. Food is amazing, we ordered fish and chips, not disappointed. Ambiance is so nice! There were lots of locals too, just chitchatting — so surely this place is in a radar for good food and good vibes. Called in during a visit to London. This pub was incredible!
It was very busy but got a table after a very short wait. Team were all very lovely and attentive.
We had the pork belly from the specials. Even though the pub was packed. It came out very quick and tasted amazing!
We were served by Asha who is a credit to the Zetland. Thanks so much for your hospitality. Will definitely return next time we visit.

Lovely quaint pub in great location with traditional/modern decor. Pub is clean and has a lovely ambience we enjoyed sitting at the window watching the world go by with a pint. Food was nice. Service a bit on the slow side especially since it wasn’t really busy but overall a good experience.

This is a pub I visit often and really like, so I brought a friend who was visiting London.
It was very busy as it was the end of the year, but a staff member wearing glasses kindly helped us find a table that was available for about an hour. We ordered food, which was delicious, and enjoyed a great conversation. When the hour was almost up, we were told we would need to leave the table. We were about to get up, but then a female staff member came over and told us that the reservation for the table had been cancelled, so we were welcome to stay longer. We were happy to hear this and continued our conversation.
However, shortly after, a man wearing a white shirt and short hair (who seemed to be a manager) came over and shouted that this was a reserved table and that we had to leave. I calmly explained that we had been told the reservation was cancelled and that we could stay, but he didn’t even look at us and spoke very harshly, telling us to get up immediately. I was very surprised and embarrassed by his tone.
I then asked another male staff member and a female staff member to confirm the situation. After checking, they told us that it was indeed okay for us to stay. Unfortunately, because of how we were spoken to, my friend felt uncomfortable and suggested that we just leave.
This has been my favorite pub, so I was quite disappointed by this experience. The food was still great, and I believe if we had made a reservation ourselves, we could have enjoyed the evening much more. It’s a shame, as everything else was lovely.
