truly one of the best places i’ve been to in this city! staff is extremely kind and caring. my order got messed up because they were overwhelmed but they corrected themselves really quick and were super apologetic, even though these things happen! :)) the food was delicious and the place has a lovely atmosphere, and it’s really clean. 10/10 would recommend!! (forgot to take a pic of my burger which was also delicious)

Amazing place, one of the old ones in London.
Spectacular food, excellent cuisine, one dish is enough. The meatloaf and roast turkey were outstanding. Great variety of beers, I recommend Estrella Galicia o Cruzcampo Served in it own cup. The service staff was incredible, so friendly. And the place... It's on another level.

Arrived from USA in morning, I am a native Londoner living in US so always looking for new spots in my town to show my American wife. Great ambience, it was UEFA night so busy as games on TV.s. Lovely victorian era traditional feel. The way the great british pub is meant to be. Food excellent on a lovely early December night. Just a short walk from our hotel

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Worth stopping by – but not flawless
This place gets a lot of things right.
The atmosphere is warm and classic, the bar area is lively, and it’s a great spot to sit back with a glass of wine and share a few plates. The menu has solid pub-style options, portions are fair, and service is friendly without being intrusive.
What I really liked:
✔️ Comfortable, welcoming vibe
✔️ Good selection for sharing with drinks
✔️ Well-organized and clean space
That said, a few details hold it back from a full 5 stars. Some dishes feel a bit safe rather than memorable, and consistency could be slightly better considering the price point.
Overall: a reliable, enjoyable place you’d happily return to — just one step away from being excellent.
👍 Recommended, especially for a relaxed evening with wine and conversation.

The food was genuinely delicious, and the flavours were exactly what I hoped for. The service was quite slow, but it was understandable — the place was very busy, and there were a lot of people that evening. I was also disappointed to find out that my favourite dessert, the Eton Mess, wasn’t available.
However, our waitress handled everything wonderfully. She immediately offered a replacement and recommended the frangipane. I was actually very happy to try it — and it turned out to be a lovely surprise. I really enjoyed it. Dharti was exceptionally polite, attentive, and warm, which made the overall experience much better.
The only real downside was the restroom. It’s extremely small, and the cubicle door opens inward, which makes it awkward to get inside. I practically had to squeeze myself in.
Overall, tasty food and lovely staff - Koma and Dharti. ❤️

This is quite the historic pub to drop in, watch a game and grab a bite and pint. It’s a quaint spot with limited seating. You will order everything at the bar and they will deliver your food when it’s ready.
The food was good. It was warm but not Hot. The breading on the Fish and Chips was great but fish was over cooked and a touch dry. A shame because fish had great potential. Mac and cheese was great. We got the garlic bread with it and my wife said it was the star of the show. Wings came out very fresh.
There was a real buzz about the place. They were busy throughout the time we were there. Staff was friendly. We would absolutely go back. It was also on the path as we were out seeing the sights. We had a great time!

Steak & Ale Pie with charred cabbage, thick chips and gravy. Great classic meal. Simple & tasty. Great traditional pub with good service and range of drinks. Certainly worth the visit. Would come again.

We visited Two Chairmen near Buckingham Palace for breakfast in October 2025, right after watching the morning parade, and we were actually the first customers of the day. We had fish and chips, which were freshly cooked. A few other dishes were also good. Even though it’s a pub, the owner kindly offered us hot tea on the house, which we really appreciated. The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming, especially as visitors from Thailand. A simple but memorable stop. We’re glad we came across this place.

A fairytale atmosphere in an old English public house. The service was absolutely delightful, and the food, like the typical Ale Pie with cabbage, mashed potatoes, and gravy, was DELICIOUS. The food alone can be had for under £20 per person, with drinks for £20-30. A delicious selection of beer and free water. We were very pleased, especially if you're looking for a dose of London in a nutshell while sightseeing!

I finally got that fish and chips I needed when coming to London. I was recommended this place by some locals and was glad to stop in for lunch. You choose a seat and then order food and beverages at the bar but they bring your food to your table.
It feels like being in an old gentleman's club or something when you're inside. We each ordered a pint while we checked out the menu. Of course I had to get my fish and chips while my sister decided on a steak and ale pie. We both enjoyed our food and drinks while enjoying the rain outside. Great stop on our trip.

We popped to pizza express for a quick dinner before the theatre. We were greeted warmly and shown to out table quickly. The staff were really attentive and friendly and the food was lovely. We didn't have to wait long for the food to arrive either, plus an added bonus we didn't have to wait ages for the bill or to pay. I'll definitely be back

As soon as we walked in, our waiter Bruno was an absolute game changer, the food was unreal, (Cajun prawns, pollo ad Astra and BBQ burnt ends pizzas) and the restaurant was a bubbly hive. Bruno was super attentive, and the food came in ideal time, always in style. Big shoutout to Bruno, taking time to talk to us and make us feel super welcome! Would absolutely recommend!

Our meal at Quilon earlier this month was a serious reminder of why this place has held its reputation for so long. If you’re a fan of South Indian coastal food, this is the benchmark. We started with the Vermicelli Crab Cake, and it was easily the highlight of the appetizers. The crab meat was incredibly fresh, but the real winner was that chili vermicelli crust—it gave a perfect crunch without drowning out the delicate flavor of the crab and curry leaves.
For the mains, the Quilon Fish Curry is a must. The halibut was flaky and light, but the sauce is what makes it—the raw mango gives it this sharp, tangy kick that works so well with the coconut and chili. We also tried the Manglorean Chicken (Kori Gassi), which was rich and comforting with that deep, fresh-ground coconut flavor. Even the Okra and Pearl Onion Masala held its own, with just enough mustard seed and curry leaf to keep things interesting.
We mopped everything up with some of the best Tawa Paratha I’ve had—perfectly buttery and layered—and some fragrant Lemon Rice. We finished with the Coconut Ice Cream, which was exactly the kind of clean, simple palate cleanser you need after a spice-heavy meal.
What really stood out, though, was the staff. Everyone was super friendly and approachable, which isn't always a given at this level of dining. I ended up speaking with one gentleman on my way out (his name escapes me now), but he was incredibly kind and it was the perfect way to end the meal. The service was polished but not stuffy, making the whole experience feel special without being pretentious. Definitely a top-tier London spot if you want Indian food that actually feels elevated.
Quick Summary:
Must order: Halibut Fish Curry and the Crab Cakes.
The Vibe: Refined, professional, and perfect for a slow dinner.
Pro-tip: The paratha is essential for the curry sauces!

Located within the Taj Hotel, just a short walk from St James’s tube station, Quilon has its own separate entrance with a maître d’ reception area and cloakroom. From here, steps to the left lead to the bar area and main dining room, while steps to the right take you to an additional dining space.
We arrived at 1pm when the restaurant was still fairly empty, but it filled up quickly between 1:30pm and 2:30pm. The music could be more appropriate- was too vibrant, needs to be more demure.
Amuse-boucheAppalam served with two dips and three additional condiments.
Cold starters
Yogurt with rice cube – a rather bland dish.
Avocado on a crispy disc – unfortunately the disc had become soggy.
Fruit water – interesting and refreshing.
Hot starters
Prawn – lightly battered and well cooked.
Dosa with potatoes – very good; buttery with an excellent balance when paired with the sambar.
Fish cake – average.Accompanied by a serving of sambar.
Rasam is spicy rasam which was very good.
Mains
Ghee rice with raisins and cashews – nice.
Halved baby potatoes – very good.
Fish curry – quite a heavy sauce but the fish itself was nicely cooked.
Pieces of mutton served on a leaf – very good.
Paratha – a shame it wasn’t grilled a little longer as it became slightly soft and limp.
Vegetables of corn strips and broccoli with coconut shavings – nice and interesting; not the usual Indian vegetable dish.
Flavoured yogurt with pomegranate – somewhat bland.
The service team came around offering additional servings or replacements of dishes, but by this point we were already very full.
DessertCardamom mousse with a chocolate layer, crunchy nut layer, and coconut ice cream. This was good and a satisfying finish.
Overall, the meal was excellent, though we left extremely full—so much so that we ended up skipping dinner later that evening. Service was attentive overall, although we did have to call for attention when we first arrived in order to be seated.

Went for a very special celebration with 11 of us on valentine day. Had both veg and non-veg tasing menu - it was delicious but would not say adventurous or wow or memorable. Could make more of an effort to explain and talk about the dish. Some staff didn't even know what they were serving up!
We all had a very good time on the whole.

Quilon came highly recommended and hence had to stop here. Sundays they have brunch menu which is a set menu and no à la carte. The booking system wasn’t clear about this until I made the booking hence putting it here in case you plan to visit on a Sunday . The place was warm and had beautiful classical music 🎶 in the background . Here is the pics of what we ate . I don’t eat red meat so they sent me a chicken dish instead which was awful . The chef decided to put 2 pieces of boiled chicken in a fish masala kind of gravy and it was awful to the foodie in me that too a malayalee . Note to you- if you are there please ask them to replace with a specific veg dish from the menu so they don’t experiment and ruin a dish. Finally dessert was disappointing as there was no Indian element in a pasty though they added cardamom. There are so many desserts in South India

The food is amazing here. Totally recommend it to anyone wanting to try gourmet Indian food. The flavours of every dish are rich and unique. There is an option to order little portions of quite a few things, in case you just want to try stuff. I’ve been here 3 times and every time is as good. Its pricey, but nothing crazy knowing it’s a posh restaurant

Didn't get a chance to try the food. Stopped for quick drink to refresh while showing my friend around London. The lady at the bar made my day, with her customer service skills and jokes. Lovely! Nice atmosphere and right across from St. James Park station.

Decided to visit St James Park as it was a nice day. This pub is not far from the station and on the way to the park, so is very convenient for a quick stop. It is a Green King inn so tried their app to order 3 small plates and a drink but app said not available so ordered at the bar and was told food was available? So worth going to the bar first. We managed to sit back down again at table 10 which is half way down the stairs and gets some natural light which the basement tables lacked. This was lunchtime on a Saturday so pretty busy. The food came quickly and the 3 plates were ideal for a light lunch, together with a couple of spirits and mixers came to about 35 quid which for this area is not bad value. If they can sort the app issues I could be inclined to give it 5 stars.

Excellent food! The steak and lobster are better than any steakhouse or fish restaurant I have tasted in London!
Was pleasantly surprised that the truffle mac and cheese had real pieces of truffle in it as most restaurants nowadays just use truffle oil. Genuinely enjoyed, great value and great quality, we would definitely recommend and would visit again.
The staff were very friendly and attentive as well, a big shoutout to Mark the manager and Sago our waiter. It was really nice welcome from them, conversation and they made sure everything was to our liking.

I don’t normally want to dine at a hotel bar especially in a food forward city like London. But I was staying here and had a couple of very busy days and so ended up at the Caxton Bar for dinner two nights. First of all the staff in the bar are all friendly, accommodating and professional. And the food is excellent! Had the fish and chips one night and it was top notch. The salmon Caesar salad the next night. Both with martinis. Really enjoyed the experiences.

Caxton Grill cooked me into emotional confusion — and honestly, I loved it.
As the person behind YourFoodFantasy, I’ve eaten a lot of stunning meals… but Caxton Grill really said, “Hold my cocktail.” I came in expecting a nice dinner; I left wondering if I should rewrite my entire understanding of flavour.
The butternut steak? Outrageous. I took one bite and immediately started reevaluating my life choices. The lamb chops were so tender I nearly apologised to them for not meeting them sooner. And the soup? Let’s just say if British weather tasted this comforting, I’d never complain again.
Then the desserts arrived. The guava mousse is the kind of dessert that grabs you by the feelings and refuses to let go. The cheesecake? A masterpiece. If I could legally marry a dessert, we’d be planning our honeymoon.
And the cocktails… look, I don’t know what wizardry the bartender practices, but after one sip I was ready to make questionable life decisions in the best possible way.
The service? Spot on. Warm, attentive, and refreshingly unpretentious. The staff glide around like they’ve been trained by the hospitality equivalent of the Royal Ballet.
St. Ermin’s Hotel sets the scene perfectly — elegant, romantic, with just a hint of “007 might walk in any minute.”
If you’ve ever trusted a review on YourFoodFantasy, trust this one:
Go. Book it. Eat everything. Thank me later.

I’d been meaning to try this place for a long time. I’d seen the menu, liked the look of the restaurant, and as a regular visitor to this part of London I expected it to be a solid choice. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a real disappointment.
I took the waiter’s recommendations, but the quality of both the food and the service fell far below what I’d expect — especially compared with the many great restaurants nearby. The service was extremely slow, and at no point did anyone check whether I needed anything to go with my meal. Even something as simple as vinegar would have helped add some flavour.
he cod cheeks were almost inedible: overcooked, chewy, and lacking any real taste. The burger didn’t fare much better. I was told it would be well done, and it certainly was — but it was dry, bland, and the tomato was bigger than the patty. Overall, the food just lacked flavour across the board.
The service was the final frustration. I ended up putting my coat on and walking to the till myself because I’d been left sitting far too long without anyone asking if I wanted another drink, dessert, or even the bill.
All in all, a disappointing experience. So much so that I can’t see myself returning — and I certainly wouldn’t bring colleagues here.

The bento boxes were really good, we tried the Mediterranean and the Korean ones. The Korean bento had a very nice matcha cheesecake and the salmon in the Mediterranean box was really delicious. But the service is simply awful, the waiter was annoying and unfriendly so I won’t come back for sure.

The hotel in which the restaurant was within looked very nice, the same could be said for the Bistro too. There is a decent selection of food, from Indian, Italian and English just to name a few, I ordered the set menu, its works out much better. I'd recommend the prawn tempura which reminds me of the dynamite shrimp is PF Changs in the States. The food is is good however, the our server wasn't so good, we were left waiting for things and had to remind her on many occasions. Apart from this a nice experience.

We were welcomed on arrival and well cared for. The food was excellent, we chose from the Chef's Special of the day with three courses for three of us, the fourth was strong willed!, coffee and wine between us it cost £50 per head. The tables have a very uncomfortable pedestal which is much wider at the bottom but it goes up in lots of 'steps', women do not usually sit with their legs apart, but that was the only way to cope, so I would much prefer a more sensible base to the table.

Wow, what an incredible restaurant! This is Italian food of the absolute highest quality with superb preparation and beautifully thought-out dishes.
To start, we ordered the calamari and zucchini appetizer, which we paired with an Aperol Spritz, a beer, and a peach prosecco. For our mains, we had a delicious, incredible seafood risotto and a pasta dish with eggplant and artichoke that was, without a doubt, the best I have ever tasted.
While the food is phenomenal, the absolute best part and the reason I would return a thousand times over, was the service. We were lucky enough to be looked after by Thais. She was constantly attentive, gave us excellent recommendations, brought the best energy, and was always smiling. I can confidently say she is the best waitress in London; we have never been looked after so well. A truly magnificent place!

Excellent menu - the food was good. Carbonara was great and the bread plate was very filling. The Caesar salad was excellent in my opinion.

Came here after the changing of the guard for lunch and the place gets slammed by the rush, but I can confirm the food came out lighting fast once ordered and the kitchen speed was amazing. Everything tasted great and portions were generous. Would recommend if looking for spot for lunch after seeing guards or the palace, but make sure to make a reservation.

I decided to try... when in London I guess?
I had porridge and an oat milk hot chocolate. Incredible hot chocolate, smooth, rich, velvety! I understood the hype. The porridge was lovely too.
I don't understand the price tag though
