We dined here as a table for 4 for a friends birthday and were treated to a spectacular evening of great French cuisine in the heart of Soho at the oldest French restaurant in London. It proved to be a great choice classy and relaxed not stuffy whilst the food and wine list were spectacular. What separates excellent from good is often the attention to detail and attention to our enjoyment and this was much appreciated. Home made bread great olives, oysters, snails and french onion soup before we got to the steak, sole, lobster mains and classic deserts, creme brule, souffle, cheese options coupled with a great mix of wine options. Everything was on point and nothing disappointed. Thankyou to the team at l'escargot for making our evening so special. We will be back!

Really enjoyed our dinner at L’Escargot. The restaurant has a lovely old-school French feel — quite cosy and a bit hidden away from the busy streets outside, which made it feel quite special.
We tried a few of the classics. The escargots were full of garlic butter and perfect with bread. The steak was excellent, cooked well with a rich buttery sauce. The duck confit was tender with crispy skin, although slightly on the salty side. The lobster was very fresh and sweet, and worked really well with the creamy sauce.
We also tried the caviar for the first time — definitely a treat, very delicate and fresh. It felt like a nice way to celebrate something.
Service was attentive and the atmosphere was great. Also worth mentioning the bread at the start — warm, fresh and honestly hard to stop eating.
Overall a very enjoyable and classic French dining experience. Would happily come back again.

Great value Sunday lunch at this classic French institution. £39 for two courses, £45 for three – and they don’t cut corners. Snails is a must, mushroom feuilleté was lovely, and the Sunday roast (aged Scotch beef) was excellent – tender, great portions. Chocolate soufflé (extra £5) is worth the wait. Fresh bread, extraordinary service, and the menu changes every two weeks. A solid, unpretentious Soho gem. Highly recommend trying.

One of my favourite French restaurants in London 🇫🇷
Finally visited L’Escargot and absolutely loved the old-school Parisian atmosphere. Elegant interior, great service, and surprisingly good value lunch set menu.
The escargots were amazing — rich garlic butter sauce with perfectly tender snails, so good we ordered another portion just to dip more bread into the sauce.
The cassoulet was hearty and comforting, full of flavour with duck, sausage and white beans. Also highly recommend the chocolate soufflé — worth the 20-minute wait.
Perfect spot for a date night or special lunch in Soho.

What surprised me most was the oyster — incredibly clean and fresh. The foie gras paired with a Muscat white wine jelly was beautifully balanced, with gentle sweetness and acidity refining the richness of the foie gras. We had the classic Rossini: beef fillet with foie gras and truffle. Though ordered medium, it arrived slightly more cooked, yet still deeply flavourful and traditionally executed. The duck confit was equally satisfying.

I had a really positive experience at Canaba Brazilian Restaurant in Tottenham, and Jess was a big part of that. She was very friendly, attentive, and made sure we felt comfortable throughout our meal. Her service was spot on, and it definitely added to the overall enjoyable experience.
Highly recommend visiting if you're in the area
and Jess's excellent customer service will make your visit even better!

I went with my pregnant wife on a Thursday afternoon, to have lunch. The place looks like being in the heart of South America, very colorful, and nice music too. I would definitely go for drinks too. We were advice by lovely Joana, for me to get their beef burger and for my wife on her state a express lunch chicken salad, for my wife and baby was so nutritious, that we are definitely coming back. My burger, indeed, fulfilled my expectations and it was so tasty that I would definitely come back myself with my colleagues! Thank you Cabana, you make our day in London, much better!

Only the chicken and the beef burger is halal, however the web says different, I got a mocktail and the glass came sticky, the chicken tacos are awful the tables are way too small if you’re planning on actually eating food, we had to move half our stuff on the floor, I will say their burger was delicious, the staff was friendly and apologetic that some things weren’t halal, this should be more clearly stated. They didn’t have a takeaway bag so they gave me foil and made me wrap my own burger😭😭😭took ages to give the bill too (way too overpriced for what it was) loved the songs that were playing tho. I would recommend getting takeaway (if they have bags lol)

Delicious. I enjoyed everything. Grilled flavours were excellent. Nice decor. Good service. Good atmosphere. Live DJ. Not too loud. Tasty food. Everything was tasty and the portion sizes were also good. We had wings, fries, steak and churasco chicken, corn, rice and beans. All excellent. They even had the yummy malagueta sauce for sale.
I've been back two more times after and service food and atmosphere continues to be excellent.

Brazilian restaurant, just next to Centre Point, near Tottenham Court Road. Nice decor and very quiet for a lunchtime meal.
Crispy Pork belly with guacamole and grilled halloumi for starters. Fancied the mini lamb skewers for main course, but was told they’d run out. Opted for the mini beef and mushroom skewers. The beef was definitely overcooked, and rubbery in texture.
The basque cheesecake was good, but drowning in caramel sauce.

5★ – Absolute atmosphere, great music, legendary venue!
Jazz After Dark is a real treasure in the heart of London. The intimate setting full of colours, artwork and Amy Winehouse memorabilia creates an authentic atmosphere that will instantly captivate you. The live music was top notch – great musicians, a great singer and an energetic band.
The staff were very friendly and the personal touch and soul of this place was felt throughout the evening. Perfect for a glass of wine and a complete break from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Visiting this bar is not just about the music – it’s an experience!
I recommend it to anyone who loves jazz, atmosphere and London nightlife with a soul.

A uniquely quirky and historical homage to the greatness which was Amy Winehouse and her part mentor Sam Shaker who is a lovely guy and can often still be found at the bar selling his paintings and willing to chat about old times. Bridge at the bar is also lovely and the live music 🎶 unbeatable. Go there and soak up the atmosphere.

If I have to describe this place in one word then it will be *enchanted*. This is one of the rare place in London where you can go blindfolded to have pure vegetarian food with divinity. This restaurant is blessing for Krishna devotees who comes for bhakti upstairs and have pure blessed food downstairs with love and emotions.
It may look a bit compact due to overwhelming demand for Thali (full plate meal). Seating arrangement are cozy with little space to move around. It could be demanding for movements restricted people to use washrooms in below ground level.
It runs in busy soho street, usually during weekends and Hindu festivals it will be fully packed.

The food is amazing here. I am from the Detroit area and have heard of this restaurant for a while. When I came to London I made sure I had to visit it. The food was so good I ate there two nights in a row. The workers are so nice and even though there is not a bunch of seating for the amount of people there, they will make room for you. I definitely recommend eating here.

I came across here accidentally and found a lovely vegetarian dishes! (reasonable price helped me✨)
I might come back.
A lady guided me to the seat was friendly, and a guy at the till generously allowed me to have both poppadom and bread roll😋
I’m so satisfied, thank you so much.

I actually stumbled upon this place through an Instagram reel and decided to head there right before my visit to the British Museum. Honestly, Govinda’s has to be one of the top vegetarian spots in London—it’s simple, straightforward, and just plain delicious.
The location is perfect, right in the heart of the Oxford district and just a stone's throw from the Tottenham underground station. It’s definitely a popular spot and operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so it stays pretty busy. Even with the rush, the staff are genuinely filled with love and greet you so warmly the moment you walk in.
They have different menu options that scale up in size, and I went for "THE LARGE ONE" (£10.95). Man, the lentil soup and the curries were absolutely MAGNIFICENT. To wash it all down, they have a great variety of drinks and lassis, including mango, rose, mint, and buttermilk.

This place was literally amazing—I cannot stress how good the shrimp was and our waitress was superb, she explained everything on the special menu specifically and answered all of our questions. I highly recommend the Gambas Rojas (shrimp) and the crab croquets (these were on the special menu so I’m not sure if they’re always available, though). We also ordered a salad (i forgot the name but it’s the one with beans) which was pretty good, and a tortilla, which I don’t think I would get again since I didn’t really like it. Overall highly recommend, we came here for lunch in a weekday so it wasn’t really crowded.

I've lost count of how many times I've returned to this authentic Spanish tapas bar!
Barrafina on Dean Street is a Michelin-starred institution for a reason. Top tip: I always aim to arrive around 4:30-4:45 pm. If you queue for just 15-20 minutes then, you can pretty much guarantee a seat at the counter.
The setting is stylish and vibrant—a classic counter-dining experience. The atmosphere is always buzzing, and the staff are incredibly attentive and hospitable.
We opted for the classics: the Classic Tortilla, Pan con Tomate, Croquetas, and Pimientos de Padrón.
The Pan con Tomate was a brilliant starter—fresh, garlicky, and the perfect palate cleanser.
The Classic Tortilla is the real highlight here. When you cut into it, the egg is perfectly runny and oozing—absolute perfection. The Croquetas were delightfully crisp on the outside and creamy inside, and the Pimientos de Padrón are a staple dish I order every single time.
Everything was so tasty I honestly couldn't stop eating until every plate was wiped clean!
All in all, the vibe is great and the food is consistently fantastic. Highly recommended!

Barrafina remains one of London’s great dining institutions.
The open kitchen, the energy of the counter, the smell of food being cooked just a few feet away. It creates an atmosphere that is impossible not to enjoy. Sitting at the bar and watching the team work is part of the experience.
The food is consistently excellent. Simple dishes executed with precision, fantastic produce, and a menu that manages to feel exciting without becoming complicated. The tortillas, seafood, and daily specials are usually the highlights for me, but I’ve rarely had anything less than excellent here.
What makes Barrafina special is that it still feels fun. Even after multiple visits, there is a sense of excitement and spontaneity that many acclaimed restaurants lose over time.
A place that captures the spirit of great Spanish dining while feeling completely at home in Soho.

I can’t believe that I have waited so long to eat here. Great vibe in the restaurant with a small but everything that you could want menu. I would have to say that the ham croquettes were the best that I have had. (No picture as they were devoured)

Great tapas. Not too heavy or oily. Everything was cooked to perfection. Very very good lunch would definitely come back. The lighting was gray and though it is all bar seating it is quite comfortable. The staff seems happy!
Highly recommend the al fresco spritz (not as sweet as aperol not as bitter as campari)
The arroz w shrimp and the croquettes

Wow. Absolutely incredible meal at Chettinad in London.
This South Indian restaurant had some of the best flavors we’ve ever had. The dosas were amazing, and their duck dish was completely off the chain — packed with deep spice and flavor. They even brought out extra spices and accompaniments that made the experience feel unique and authentic.
The service was excellent from start to finish. The staff constantly refreshed silverware, explained menu items, and made everyone feel welcome. We also saw them celebrate another guest’s birthday by singing Happy Birthday and bringing out a dessert with a candle, which was a really nice touch. At the end of our meal, they surprised us with dessert on the house as well.
We came all the way from Miami, Florida, after our kids recommended it because they had such a great experience there. We figured we’d give it a try — and honestly, it turned out to be one of the best Indian meals we’ve ever had.
The flavors were bold, authentic, and unforgettable, and the spice level could really be customized if you like heat. Definitely worth the trip if you’re visiting London and want outstanding South Indian food.

An excellent South Indian restaurant — one of the best you could find in London. The food was incredibly flavourful and perfectly spiced. The Bru coffee was top-notch, tasting just like it does in India. The thali meal was absolutely delicious and full of flavour.
Not forgetting the staff — they were very attentive and efficient.
We will definitely be visiting again.

I highly recommend this place for authentic Kerala cuisine. From the moment we walked in, the aroma in the air transported me straight back to Kerala.
The restaurant offers a dedicated Kerala menu alongside Chettinad dishes. The duck mappas was spot-on—rich, flavorful, and a must-try, especially when paired with the kallappam. The kallappam was incredibly soft and delicious. We also enjoyed the lamb chukka, fish pollichathu, and kappayum meenum—everything was prepared beautifully. The fresh lime juice was refreshing and brought back fond memories of Kerala, and we finished the meal with a Bru coffee, which was a lovely way to end the experience.
The food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. The staff were friendly, attentive, professional, and always smiling. They were very accommodating when we requested extra space around our table for a baby stroller at the time of booking, and they kindly held our table after we informed them that we would be running late.
I’ve given four stars for the atmosphere only because it was a bit noisy due to a large group of diners. Despite it being a weekday, the restaurant was busy and nearly full. The restrooms were clean, but there were no baby-changing facilities. More restroom facilities and a larger overall space would further enhance the dining experience.
I would definitely return to this place and look forward to dining here again.

**Chettinad Restaurant Review**
Visited Chettinad recently and came away feeling a little underwhelmed. We ordered the masala dosa, which arrived lacking the crisp texture I was expecting. The staff were very friendly though and happily replaced it, even serving the masala separately, which I appreciated.
The vada was the standout item of the meal. Fresh, flavourful, and cooked well. The chai, on the other hand, was disappointing. It tasted weak and lacked the rich, comforting flavour a good chai should have. Easily a 2/10.
Overall, the service was better than the food. Nothing was terrible, but nothing made me want to come back either. With several stronger South Indian spots nearby, this isn't one I'd particularly recommend.
**Rating: 3/5 ⭐**

A Yummy THALI
We came for dinner without a reservation and had two Vegetable Thali (£24.95).
As a starter we got a Rasam soup and Pappadam crackers.
The main course consisted of six different dips/sauces, accompanied by poori bread and steamed rice. We particularly liked the curries and the raita.
There is also a small pineapple based dessert to finished with a sweet taste.
Service is kind and atmosphere is nice and cozy.
We had a great experience and we really enjoyed the restaurant. Highly recommended!

Absolutely stunning experience: so pleased I elected to purchase Chef Jeremy’s book, when reserving the table. The personal inscriptions are wonderful and so thoughtful. Having the great man himself there (so synonymous with being a high profile judge on “Great British menu” interacting so naturally and humbly with patrons is testament to his character: he’s also got a fantastic sense of humour!
History of building fascinating (home of Karl Marx) and several of the original features remain.
This is a place for the discerning diner! Unmitigated perfection in terms of quality of food and service. Team all great and lovely “vibe” A real highlight of our stay in London. Additional thanks to Leah and GG 😊

I’ve been twice to Quo Vadis over the past few months and it never disappoints. Not too many tables, it feels intimate but the spac doesn’t feel crowded. You can talk (which is hard nowadays in most restaurants in London!!). They have a wonderful cocktail menu and the food is just great. Really a place you want to come back to.

Interesting opinions about the adorable place. Some highs and a few lows. Here in mid October/25 for a 60th bday. We were recommended to go be a Michelin star chef friend.
Started out great, lovely and adorable server, really good selection of mocktails (only for me) the apps were really good.
Mains had a couple of standout items, the ‘pie’ was excellent and the beef tongue was wonderful. The partridge was ‘ok’, but, it’s a tricky bird to cook. The short ribs were lovely, rich and tender and the dish also quite good. So, here’s the not so good.
Service was unattentive, slow and honestly…odd.
At one point, our server (the adorable one) put his coat on and went through the front of the establishment (we had front window seating) and left for 20 min!!! We were shocked! And no one came to check on us for 15 min! We finally flagged down a different server to be able to place our dessert orders. We have never had anything like that happen! Our server came back in just as we were retrieving out coats. Very odd, and no explanation was offered.
Would I go back, maybe, but with so many great offerings in London…..probably not

Visited before an event, we booked in advance as it was a Saturday. The staff were really nice, checked on us multiple times.
I had the set menu which is amazing, starter main and dessert. The pizza is very thin, even though it looks massive, you won’t feel like you’re about to explode once you finish it. The gelato is a must try!!! They are delicious, creamy, flavourful.
The design is quite nice, modern mixed with cozy.
Would recommend for any size of groups. ☺️

One of the best Zizzi locations in London. They focus on pizza and pasta and they won’t disappoint. Portions are huge and prices are fair also. Even starters might be enough to be full. We tried one pizza and two starters and both were great. They do have set menus as well. Highly recommended if you’re in the area.
