5 Star Rating Smooth check-in / out. Friendly staff. Well appointed and spacious for a London room. Wide selection of drinks and snacks available at the bar and plentiful choice of good quality and appetising looking items for breakfast. Just a couple of minutes level walk from the Tower of London / Tower Bridge. Easy walk to St Katherine's Dock for plenty of restaurants.

3 Star Rating Unfortunate Novotel. Have stayed at others around the world and this hotel is tired and seems struggling. Probably the only hotel I’ve stayed at that didn’t have skin cream in the room. Not a single drawer for clothing storage either. Lobby is very small and is usually found in 3 star hotels. Why have a large closet and only include 5 hangers? No drawers and no hangers. Will not stay again.

5 Star Rating A wonderful stay with family. This was our third stay here. We were so warmly welcomed by the reception staff at check-in. Beril in front office was really helpful. There was a misunderstanding while booking room. Fortunately he solved it. The rooms were absolutely spotless. Definitely come back to stay again.☺️

5 Star Rating Another great stay. The room was comfortable and super clan, although bafflingly the sofa was made up as a bed. Why?!? Never mind, we just used it as a sofa anyway. The breakfasts were excellent, the staff friendly and efficient. The shower was great with inexhaustible supplies of hot water. One quibble - they ran out of spoons at breakfast, and a polite enquiry with someone yielded... nothing! But that's it, the only quibble.

2 Star Rating We were there as a party of 4, with 2 of us getting the “pit boss” platter for £32 per person including fries. The pit boss platter appears to be the same as the Bodean’s platter for £19 per person apart from beef brisket and the Texas BBQ sausage. The BBQ sausage was overall ok, but very greasy. The beef brisket was quite frankly an absolute joke - a tiny burnt piece of meat that was definitely not worth it. The fries that we paid extra for were flavourless and soggy. The coleslaw portion was tiny. At least the pulled pork was lovely. While the platter on the photo looks stacked, a large portion of this is two burnt pieces of cheap chicken. The other members of my party were eating the sweet potato vegan chili (which consisted largely of rice, a bit of beans and sweet potato fries on top - not at all what we expected). The service was overall was fine. We had been to the Soho Bodean’s BBQ in 2017 last time and had a really good impression about it. Alas, this will likely be our last visit.

4 Star Rating Reservations recommended but not necessary if you’re willing the wait. The restaurant was quite busy the evening we visited and my friend and I ended up sitting at a counter near the window - good for people watching. The server was very pleasant and patiently answered questions about the menu. I opted for the Baby back Ribs and Pulled Pork Combo served with fries and coleslaw. Both were tender and delicious though I preferred the pulled pork.

5 Star Rating Still just as good as how I remembered it years ago. Went here for a family meal on Friday afternoon and it was fantastic. We had the buffalo wings which were smoked to perfection. Kids had the kids menu which was a great serving size. For mains we went for the Pit Boss platter (2 ppl) and the serving size was perfect! The brisket, sausage and burnt ends were our fave bits. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and we felt well looked after. Lovely friendly vibe, we all had a great time. Very happy with the whole experience. Kids loved it too, thank you team!

3 Star Rating Maybe we picked the wrong night? Having to get up & ask for service every time you need something is okay if you're at a pub that serves counter meals. Food came relatively quickly and was delicious. Side portions are tiny though. I'm sure the bowls have got smaller. We weren't offered dessert. We weren't offered more drinks (we had to get up & go over to the bar to get our first & only round!) No one came to check on us and see if we had our entire order and if everything was okay. Distinct lack of management and/ or trained staff. Such a pity as we probably won't return when London has so many other choices.

2 Star Rating Great pub, only issue is the quality of the pints being pulled - when you’re paying a premium £6.20 for Peroni - let’s have some bubbles in it ! It’s flat ! Inconsistency is the issue - gets busy chuck the beer out quick regardless of quality. Another disappointing visit, that’s my last.

2 Star Rating This was our first time and we needed some explanation on how the menu works. The waitress was helpful and explained everything but after we ordered I don’t know what happened- our salad, rolls, edamame, ribs came after dim sum. It came out to be very pricey for 3 people - the portions are extremely small. So if you can go back on Sunday - they have a better deal. For us it was one time deal because we were just visiting.

5 Star Rating Nice to be able to walk in and get a table straight away. Lovely area looking over the dock too! It was our first visit and the service was very absent. We had no explanation of how to order and had to work it out ourselves. You order via a form that you tick what you want. We ordered the special soup dumpling, duck spring rolls and honey rice bowl, all were lovely and fresh too. The best dishes we had were the Katsu curry boa buns and the char siu pork buns they were so flavourful. The park crackers are a must too. The let down was the prawn dim sum, they had an odd taste and the cocktails were a bit too ‘out there’, one even had a weird texture. Would definitely come back but would like more attentive service and an explanation of how to order would be great.

5 Star Rating Best Dim Sum in London!!! The flavors are rich and satisfying. You get to try so many different ones, as they are 3pieces each, and not expensive at all. We had maybe 9 different types, and enjoyed them all. Also, the jasmine lilly tea is really good: Watching your jasmine bloom in your teapot is a thing of beauty. I hear it's half off if you go before 5 pm, but I don't know how true it is. The service was good: we walked in on a Friday evening without a reservation and were promptly seated. The host offered to store my small suitcase, which was really sweet. Within 10 minutes of sitting down, we began receiving our food and drinks. I think the idea of marking your order on the menu was really cute. I enjoyed the experience. The location is great, offering nice views and allowing you to people watch. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and vibrant. I definitely will bring my friends back here.

It was a quieter night the Thursday we visited but it's a really cool atmosphere! We greatly appreciated the fantastic service Jack provided and enjoyed chatting with him as this was our first time in London and had a few questions. 5 Star Rating We were hungry and just dipped into the first place we came across, and we are so glad we did. I had eaten at this chain previously in another city/country, so I knew it was probably going to be fine, but it was delicious. I got the Cherry Blossom Lemonade and the Gyoza Chicken Ramen, both were great. The staff was friendly and attentive and very nice about the fact that someone in our group wanted to pay with cash instead of in the typical QR code/online manner. I would totally go back!

I had never tried this food before and ordered it at random. it was delicious! and most importantly, the price is not expensive. It's better to eat at this restaurant than buy a sandwich. I don’t remember the name of the dish, but it was rice with vegetables and duck meat. We also drank coffee. unusual serving of coffee. To my surprise, the coffee was strong and tasty. We also tried some kind of steamed pie. unusual, but delicious! for a snack. and satisfying.

5 Star Rating We attended during coronation weekend and benefited from the half price offer at the time. The show is the main attraction so foodies can expect standard fairer. Service was quick and we felt lucky to get great seats 🙏🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 we loved the cheekiness of the night. Heads up that there's a lot of self-admin to do when you book tickets here. A food form is sent to you via email so you can advise on your choices from the menu so it's difficult to change your order if you make a mistake or need to add an allergy after. This form is important though because it makes the food service smooth so as not to disrupt the show.

5 Star Rating I recently capped off a trip to London with a show at Proud City: Drag Bingo hosted by Craig Webb. I cannot recommend this place enough! It was an absolute highlight of my time in the UK. The staff were so lovely and welcoming and the drinks were delicious! The show was BEYOND! Craig is an absolutely incredible host, his voice is stunning, song selection perfection and his hosting skills are warm, charming and cheeky and everything you would want for an incredibly fun night out. He made the crowd feel at ease while also having us laugh out loud through out the night. The Drag show was also so amazing and all of the Queens were gorgeous (special shout out to Baby Face for performing/singing live ORIGINAL music) and speaking of the music, the DJ spun all the best dance hits from the past 5 decades and we were on our feet dancing all night! Bingo is also always such a fun time and the songs they picked for the bingo board were perfect. Will definitely be back to see another show here when Craig is hosting and I recommend anyone looking for great entertainment in the UK go check this place out!

2 Star Rating Review of the venue itself, not the show (the show & performers were amazing). The venue feels a little grimey and like they’ve squeezed in as many tables as possible. We bought VIP tickets as were celebrating and went to watch the Badly Behaved Burlesque Show in July. The host was brilliant, the dancers and performers amazing and engaging (also my first time to a cabaret), it was a very immersive experience. The table we were on felt as stable as a chair with 3 legs. It was wobbling around and the venue draped black tablecloths to hide what felt as big as a bedside table. Although we had great seats, right by the stage. Food was a bit mixed. With our VIP tickets we got a ‘5 course menu’ but one of us is vegetarian and one of the veggie courses was a bowl of fries…not what you’d expect for £120 a ticket. Other dishes were tasty but nothing to shout home about, presentation certainly lacking - so much so I didn’t take photos. The desserts were interesting and we ended up leaving the second one. But you’re not really there for the food! Drinks…re-mortgage your house & buy a sleeping bag! I appreciate the London location, but be prepared to pay through the nose. On top of this, there’s a £2 ‘cover charge’ and a MANDATORY 12.5% service charge. This I struggled with because the service was not good. The waiters were lacking in serious hygiene standards, un-attentive and we constantly had to ask for our water to be re-filled. There was one waitress who was lovely, we did a shot with her for fun and she was great. As was the lady selling merchandise! Everyone else needs a refresh on their training. The show itself was great fun, lively and interactive! Front row seats were a real treat. Don’t think we will be returning to this venue, but would definitely recommend the show if it went elsewhere.

3 Star Rating This is a fantastic burlesque show, great energy and performances from everyone. As far as the show goes, you really can't fault it. What let's this establishment down is the unbelievably overpriced drinks and service. My group of 4 spent £200 on 3 bottles of prosecco (which actually included a £50 service charge!) This is the most "cost effective" drink on the menu. It really lets the experience down, and we overheard lots of people saying the same thing. I should add, at didn't actually book this venue originally. I was moved here from the embankment venue with no alternative and no explanation. It didn't look at good on the photos but was assured the venue had been given a "glam up". I think they need to revisit their idea of glam because the venue isn't particularly nice. It's not a venue we'll be visiting again.

5 Star Rating A really nice pub that is tucked away in a back street to the east of the city. Quite a large space inside and I got a table easily. We ordered food and it took a while to come. We were just thinking of asking where the food was when it appeared. Worth the wait though, I had the steak and venison pie and it was a pure delight, light pastry with a good filling of very tender meat. My friend had the sausage and mash, which he also thought was delicious. They served a good range of beers and wines too. Well worth a visit.

5 Star Rating So here's another pub to check out, particularly if you are interested in savouring a selection of guest ales, the like of which you'll struggle to find outside London. From my initial welcome by the friendly down-to-earth Sam to the outstanding service from Martin, I thoroughly enjoyed my evening here, albeit unusually quietly owing to a train strike. There is an abundance of lovely and comfortable places to sit that render you immersed in local history, of which I hope that you will experience a flavour from my photos. Having walked past this venue many times on my way to Towe Hill Station, I was glad that I seized the opportunity to visit. Unashamedly, I finished my meal with a sweet scone sundae, layered with vanilla ice cream, a sweet savoury cherry 🍒 compote, clotted cream, strawberries 🍓 and whipped cream. Strange, isn't it, that we Londoners, rush to and from our daily commute, without visiting the rich heritage right under our noses...
