Lovely pub, good selection of decent drinks, and a cosy atmosphere. What more could you ask of a proper London pub?! Joyfully close to Paddington Station without being too close to the chaos of the station, it's a wonderful little place to stay a couple hours.

Unfortunately the worst roast I've ever had. This was the most dry and grey lamb, so disappointing and with children screaming and running around, trying to climb up our table chairs. I wish the staff had just been able to say something to the parents, but the staff themselves were so lovely. The vegan wellington looked nice, but tasted so bland...and the gravy...that was lumpy beatroot sauce so I don't know how that could be called an alternative to gravy.
Overall so disappointing and unfortunately would never return for this food.

I live in East London but my cousin was visiting and staying in Paddington. We had a walk through Little Venice and Google suggested the Warwick Arms so we stopped in for dinner. I’m so glad we did.
The food was delicious and the set menu was very reasonably priced. The staff made sure we were well looked after and were lovely. I’ll definitely return!

Came across this pub while heading for a boat trip. What a lovely traditional pub with a nice setting in a quiet area. The service and welcome were warm, and the local beer - Made of Ale - was well kept and tasty. The pub had a nice feel to it, and seems to have a community feel. Outdoor seating is available.

The staff are great, or should I say that the female staff are great but the guy that was on tonight was more interested in his girl friend, or female he wanted to be his girl friend. Spent almost all the time just chatting to her, and other staff were obviously not happy.
However great pub, food looks lovely even if we didn't try it.

Came here for brunch during the long weekend and overall had a really good time. We got assigned a table by the canal which was definitely a perk. The brunch menu was quite small but you could still find most of the traditional breakfast dishes like Full English, Egg Benedict, Scrambled Egg on Toast and etc. We went for the French Toast with Banana and Maple Syrup and the Scrambled Egg on Toast with Bacon & Mushrooms, and both turned out to be fairly delicious. The dishes were also reasonably priced for the portion and quality, and we ended up paying less than £15 per person for the everything.

Breakfast was lovely and really tasty. I had scrambled eggs on toast which was delicious, my partner had the French toast which he really enjoyed. Staff were lovely, gave us a great table and decor was stunning.
I had told them it was my partner’s birthday, and they surprised him with a scoop of ice cream - which was the perfect start to the birthday celebrations ✨❤️

A nice little venue to put in your "places to eat and drink" file. The staff are pleasant and extremely helpful. The food is very nice and served reasonably quickly. It was quiet when we were there, so maybe there would be a little longer waiting at busy times. All in all, everything was extremely enjoyable, definitely one to remember and only a 6 minute walk from Paddington railway station.

We ate here to try an English Sunday Roast in London.
Everything was perfect!
A special mention to the chicken, it was absolutely delicious 😋
Your Apple crumble is the best thing I’ve had during this trip to London 😍
We definitely had a great time with you guys ❤️👏👏👏
See you next time!!!

tasty roast had one of maybe the nicest nut roasts i’ve had?? it’s like a vegetable rosti with nuts n cranberries. big fan!!! the yorkie was also rly tasty. however the potato’s weren’t the crispiest and the vegetables felt a tiny bit undercooked. we also had to ask for more gravy. still!!! had a great time and the staff were rly nice :))

Stumbled upon this restaurant while wandering with my friend. Even though it was busy, it didn’t feel noisy or overwhelming. Really enjoyed the pork Sunday roast. Service was swift and professional and the app made it very easy to order. Will definitely visit again.

It was ok. food is ok atmosphere is ok for locals, for tourist so-so.
Waiters don’t empty tables, we had starter and when main course came waiter looked at as with hands full of plates. We moved plates from first course and he just left not collecting old plates.

The Waterway in Little Venice is basically where good vibes and great food collide in the best possible way. The staff? They’re on point—helpful without being in your face, making you feel like you’ve just stumbled onto a secret local hangout. The vibe is relaxed but lively, with just the right amount of people so it’s never too quiet or too packed. And the food? Pure bliss. Whether you’re here for a chill brunch or a cheeky drink, everything hits the spot. Plus, you’re right next to the water, which makes it feel like you’re in a little oasis in the middle of the city. If you’re in the neighborhood, don’t even think about skipping this one!

Lovely serene spot to have a breakfast without feeling you are in the middle of a big city. Smashed Avocado on toast with poached egg served with chili jam was delicious. Flat White also good.

My number 1 cafe to go to!!!!
The atmosphere is super nice, you feel like you’re sitting in paradise!!
The coffee is nice. The prices are a little bit higher than other cafes, but it’s worth it.

Excellent café situated within the Clifton Nurseries premises. We walked in on a Sunday for brunch and it was busy, the staff were professional, friendly and very accommodating. A well organised venue. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

Clifton Nurseries Cafe is an absolute hidden gem in the heart of the city! Tucked away within the beautiful surroundings of the Clifton Nurseries, this cafe feels like a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. It has a charming and cozy atmosphere, perfect for relaxing with friends or even spending some quiet time on your own. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by incredibly friendly staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The service is always warm and attentive, which really enhances the overall experience.
The menu offers a great selection of delicious food, whether you're after a light snack or a more substantial meal. Everything I’ve tried has been fresh and tasty, with lovely flavors that really hit the spot. Their coffee is also fantastic—rich, smooth, and expertly brewed. It’s the perfect pick-me-up, whether you’re starting your day or just taking a break in the afternoon.
Another plus is that they offer free Wi-Fi, which makes it a great spot for getting some work done, catching up on emails, or simply enjoying a leisurely morning with a coffee and your laptop. The setting is serene and inspiring, which makes it easy to get lost in the peaceful ambiance.
If you’re in London and looking for a tranquil hideaway with great food, excellent coffee, and wonderful service, Clifton Nurseries Cafe is an absolute must-visit. Highly recommend spending some time here—you won’t be disappointed!

The Torsh group of food served at this restaurant is singular and so yummy, just unbeatable. I tried each of them and they were faultless. And keep enough room between ordering a desert specially the bastani makhloot which makes you live heaven on earth! If you feel rich, order the chateauneuf du pape as well! I highly recommend

One of my best experiences in London. For me was one of my favourite combinations, the fresh herbs are really fresh, and all the sophistication that Iranian food brings was spectacular. The restaurant is very well located and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The place has a cozy vibe, intimate and I just missed some colours on their decor. The food was divine, specially prepared and one of the best experiences I had, we didn’t feel heavy after had different meals, proving how good they are. Highly recommend for people that likes Iranian food, or people curious about their cuisine.

I don’t usually write reviews but this is so good.
Everything here is just beyond amazing! I have been coming to this restaurant for over 2 years now and the quality of the food is just amazing! I have tired almost every Iranian restaurant in London and they are all average but Kateh is on another level when compared to the others.
The staff are always so friendly and welcoming which is always so nice.
I really recommend this place :)

I’m so impressed with the new menu and the recent chef takeover at this restaurant. It is a total game-changer.
The food quality has improved massively with every dish we tried was full of flavour, beautifully presented, and clearly made with top-quality ingredients.
There’s now a great variety on the menu, with something for everyone, and everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared..

About as vintage London as it gets with a mix of awesome food. Came here after seeing this on Anthony Bourdain's Layover and didn't realize that these shelters have so much history.
Ordered an egg breakfast sandwich with bacon and had a cup of tea on the side.
Fresh, delicious, affordable and the near walk to the canals to enjoy my meal was priceless.

Coffee is £1.20 but it's instant. The sandwiches are epic. You know the olde-tyme phrase "thick as a docker's sandwich"? These are the OG. Only £3. Cash only.

For those of you wanting to tour London using HG Wells’ The War of the Worlds as your guide— and who wouldn’t? This is is most likely the cabstand that the book’s narrator sleeps in the night before climbing Primrose Hill. Read the chapter ‘Dead London’ online, and marvel at how this little bit of Victorian architecture survived the onslaught of the tripods, heat rays and black smoke. A living monument to how the Great British people endured in the face of Martian belligerence. Thank God for bacteria.

An amazing grade II listed building. It stands in the test of time and actually adds positively to the environment. They open in the morning only for the London car drivers.

We were very much looking forward to the advertised Persian afternoon tea that we saw on Groupon and the venue certainly did not disappoint.
The decor was beautiful - gorgeous comfortable chairs and lovely crockery. The ambience was very nice indeed. There was music playing and it was a pleasant atmosphere.
The tea was very hot which is great. Too often tea is served too cold with an afternoon tea.
The service was good - the staff friendly .
The only real let down was the food sadly.
The scones were cold and hard which is a shame although the jam and cream were good quality.
The sandwiches were dry - they had obviously been put out early but we were running late - and so the bread wasn’t pleasant. I wish they hadn’t been out in the plate until we got there . Also the fillings were unimaginative and sparse.
The small cakes were pleasant enough although they were also drying out.
There was nothing particularly Persian about the tea sadly. Apart from Persian tea offered as a tea choice.
So a bit of a mixed bag but a nice enough jaunt. I’d rather have eaten from the menu which did look nice

We visited on a Sunday afternoon at 5:30 p.m., and the restaurant was very quiet — we were the only customers there. Despite this, the service was surprisingly slow. The sole waitress on duty seemed indifferent; she wasn't friendly and didn’t make us feel welcome or helped explain the menu in any way.
My bottle of Sprite was given to me unopened so I had to ask for her to open it, which she did begrudgingly with a bottle opener.
We had to ask for napkins as there were none at the table, the waitress came again and gave us one piece of napkin each.
When our food arrived, we found a hair in it. The waitress took the dish away after briefly looking at it but offered no real apology. She later returned and simply asked if we wanted another salad, with no gesture of goodwill or offer of a discount.
Overall, it was a disappointing and underwhelming experience.

Formosa Dining Room Overall Rating 4 out of 5
Dining Options: Lunch | Dinner | Beer | Wine |
Address: Formosa St, London W9 1EE, UK
Reviews
The food was good... but the service, appalling. The wait staff seemed keener to talk with their friends. I waited 20 mins before my order was taken and had to end up waving frantically at the wait staff to get any attention. The attitude was one where it felt like I was secondary. No water was offered. My plate was not cleared for 30.mins after I had finished my meal. I had to ask for the dessert menu. This behaviour might have been understandable if it was busy, but it was very quiet. If I was the manager I would be very concerned at the overall behaviour. I almost walked out, and members of the table beside me felt the same as we spoke whilst waiting. Unbelievable.
