Fantastic pub but awful food. Had an immaculate pint of Guinness and the atmosphere was great for a Tuesday evening but a disappointing Shepherd's Pie. Small, unseasoned, £17 and a stingy amount of cheap ingredients like carrots and peas.
James Dixon - 4 months ago
Had a lovely Friday afternoon spent in the pub. Service was brilliant, they let us know that food would stop being served at 2pm.
Having ordered some sourdough bread and olives. The bread was really tasty, the olives had cooked/grilled green ones and they had a very chemically taste.
The atmosphere was that of a proper local community pub with a wide variety of customers. Everyone and their dog (literally) was welcome.

What a cosy pub. Had a really delicious Sunday roast here ! Great option

Excellent! Such a lovely pub, will certainly return here again. We visited the place for a Sunday brunch, ate the weekend specials vegetarian Wellington and a chicken roast. Decent food and friendly staff. The only disappointing thing was that even though we booked our table in advance, we were seated in a tiny corner table next to the toilet :( Otherwise, the place is a stunning old pub with wooden interior and vintage paintings, a truly enjoyable place to be!

Wonderful and attentive staff, despite it being packed when I got there on Friday night. The bar lady, also recognised us from our previous visit, which was a nice touch. Also great 80s music, not too intrusive, and a relaxing atmosphere. I proper pub with a bit of upper class charm, but not too much...

Beautiful restaurants
Amazing location the food is not bad, but it’s not the top is very expensive. There is a big problem.
Internally there is no ventilation and after a few minutes it is invaded. From the fried smell they should fix the ventilation better
For the rest everything is very pleasant, the service is exceptional. And the employees are very nice.

Had some visiting family from abroad and lucked out with the weather. We were totally in the mood for fish by the riverside. Managed to squeeze a table last minute, and it didn't disappoint. Fabulously tasty fish. My aunt doubled down on the oysters, and I went nuts over the catch of the day, which sat on top of truffle mash. Not the easiest to get a table in the summer but completely worthwhile.

**Review for Summerhouse**
I recently dined at Summerhouse, a lovely seafood restaurant with a fantastic view of Little Venice. I started with the salmon, which was delicious. The highlight was the Dover lemon sole special; it was exceptional, with a delicate texture and outstanding flavor. The picturesque location and top-notch seafood make Summerhouse a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Dined here whilst away on business.
3x Oysters to start with, which were very fresh, well prepared, and incredibly tasty.
For the main course, the Stone Bass was exquisite. The fish was a chunky sized fillet, cooked perfectly, accompanied with a lovely menagerie of cockles, pancetta, carrots, and chive mash. A delightful dish all round.
Service was fantastic. Staff were very attentive and welcoming. The scenery next to the canal was also brilliant and very picturesque.
Highly recommend.

Lovely lunch on Good Friday. I really enjoyed my Halibut. I was looking forward to enjoying the "catch of the day", however, it was salmon. I was disappointed by this as I would not class salmon as a catch of the day fish, especially not on Good Friday. The crab starter made a nice change, and the desert appeared freshly prepared. Great location, and I will look forward to a further visit when the weather is warmer and we can enjoy the alfresco feeling. The service was spot on, too.

I cannot say we had a great experience here. We were looking for a typical pub with great food in an interesting area of London to meet someone who was flying in from the US. Based on the reviews and the location we chose the Bridge House. Big mistake. The entire building was wrapped up in a construction foil, not an impressive appearance. The inside decor is not bad, but I’ve seen much better elsewhere. The music playing was extremely loud to the point where we did not hear each other talk. Our requests to lower the volume met with negative answers for an hour. As there were other groups of people trying to communicate by loudly talking, we ended up threatening to leave and indicated a loss of 9 Sunday roast dinners to the management. Magic words, volume lowered to a pleasant background music. The food and drinks were very nice, but not exceptional, and we did not care much for the lounge type seating, would have preferred classic dining room.

Lovely pub with outside sitting area in great location.
Good selection of drinks, the food was average. Portions on the smaller side. The sticky toffee pudding was good actually.
Staff was lovely and orders came quickly.

It’s been our favorite local spot for years. Our ritual is grab some food and drinks before heading upstairs to the canal cafe theater for an evening of comedy (usual newsreview).

It was a Sunday afternoon, the sun was shining so I was inspired to take a walk alongside the beautiful Little Venice. Upon my journey I stumbled across the establishment that is The Bridge House to quench my thirst in the summer sun. The staff were so lovely and kind which added to my already glorious day. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area, they do a cracking pint!

Proper “local” and lovely staff.
Much improved over the last few years - probably due to good management, permanent team and upgrading of what was a very shabby interior. Best pub in Little Venice and such a beautiful location.

Great location; away from the busy city. Really good food, all choices were delicious. Service was good (a bit slow but nice and professional).
Inside and outside seating. The outside seating is great for good weather and even when it’s raining (most outdoor seating with roofing installed)
Overall great experience!

The Waterway in Paddington is an absolute gem! There's a wide selection of food and drinks to choose from. It's a very popular spot, so the outdoor seating fills up quickly, especially in the summer. However, the indoor seating is also cozy and inviting. The price is fair, and the food and desserts are all freshly prepared on-site. I highly recommend the prawns and the steak. The beautiful and stylish ambiance, combined with excellent cuisine and friendly service, ensures a delightful evening. Five stars!

Blown away by the people and gorgeous atmosphere. Would happily come back. The pan fired salmon was really well cooked and it tasted nice. Wasn’t a big fan of the creme brûlée but the manager very kindly took it off our bill, which he didn’t have to! This is a hidden gem

The restaurant offers decent food and a pleasant atmosphere. However, the waiting time to place our order was noticeably long, which detracted from the overall experience. If the service speed could be improved, it would be a much more enjoyable dining spot.

Top 3 places in the world i have ever been. The glass house is inside a greenhouse which welcomes you with plants and lights in this time of the year.
You can buy trees and souvenirs as well as plants and other ornaments. Extremely kind staff in a hidden place that is worth visiting. We went as a couple and it was a greay time. Some tables are too close but you can still enjoy your brunch. Frienda and big groups will have a wonderful time.
Food is pricey but is worth it. Tasty and fresh. Coffee is strong and full of flavour. Cakes are amazing and the mixes are broad.

This is a hidden gem in the Maida Vale area. Hidden inside the Clifton nursery, this cafe offers unique dishes and fresh juices. Unique is also the atmosphere. The greenhouse and the nursery around it make this place magical. Friendly staff and good service. The presentation of the food is remarkable. Once you’re done with food, take a moment to wander around all different plants, flowers and outdoor furniture displayed in the yard. It’s a 5 minutes walk from the Warwick Avenue tube station and another five minutes walk to little Venice.

It was very romantic and beautiful place, there are many kind of flowers and the entrance pathway is very kind. The staff was very kind and friendly, I reached at the lunchtime. So, we ordered the Halloumi fries and superfood salad. The food was very delicious and healthy. Really, I recommend this place to recharge the battery.

A little hidden gem hidden in Maida Vale! We arrived at 1:30pm on a Sunday and waited only a few minutes to be seated at the restaurant. We had the vegan Portobello burger and the dirty burger which we both shared. Both were excellent. Or waitresses Claudia and Alexandra (I asked their names to write this review) we're constantly busy and yet, always available and smiling! We had several requests and they managed them quickly. We then wandered around, into the green house and between all the plants and flowers... We really had a great time there and will definitely come back for the amazingly looking salads!

Lovely setting. Hidden gem. Great for a meeting, coffee and cake! It gets busy during lunch but not to a point where all tables are taken. It was sunny but it wasn't too hot inside. Just perfect. Service was good too.

Delicious mains! The Afghan chicken was perfectly cooked. The cod stew was almost perfect - the cod itself was tender but the prawn was far too overcooked. Portion size of starters/bread was a tad small. Service was friendly and attentive.

My cousin booked this place for us and I am so grateful for that. I love everything about Kateh! I wish we had one in New York. The bread was incredibly fresh and delicious, and the kebab was tender and flavorful. Everything here is just perfect!

I don’t usually post negative reviews, nor I like to affect restaurants with low ratings, however this restaurant was on my list to visit in London . As a start when we arrived, we placed the order. Our waiter was very active and friendly, however, we received the appetizers in 30 minutes!
We then waited for the main course, as it arrived, we observed the quantity was reduced as it used to be, so my friend decided to call the manager (which I think he is the owner or the man in charge) we told him that the quantity is not as it uses to be, he then unfortunately rudely answered ( you can order more if you want, you don’t need to tell us if its less or more). We had moments of silence as a shock of that behavior of a restaurant that should be built on the pillars of hospitality and greetings.
We then decided to ignore and order desserts, we went for fallouda, the surprise is that they served as softies not the original fallouda.
With all the above, it’s gonna be impossible to return to this restaurant.

This is the 2nd time we ate in this restaurant. Food never disappoints us. Love my main course, griĺled fish with spicy potato patty, which is one of the specials of the day. My boyfriend's lamb is so good that it melts in your mouth.

As usual, they didn't disappoint us. The food is always great, and the staff is accommodating.
I don't get why this restaurant has always gotten bad reviews when in fact they always serve the best, especially the pizza and pasta.

First time at the place and it was absolutely amazing! - I've personally found it quite hard to find an authentic Indian restaurant in London by my search is over. Their menu is relatively small which immediately tells me that they specialize in what the serve and this is definitely the case. we had the fish dish from and chicken curry from desi classics and both had so much depth to the flavour.
The service was lovely, we were served by Flo and he was great!
We will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu!

A great Indian restaurant, serving beautifully prepared and presented food, freshly cooked. Even the classics like Korma are given an unusual and delicious twist, while the rice and naan breads are perfectly prepared, avoiding any greasiness. Everything is delivered to the table with a friendly smile, plus the location means you get to watch the world go by in a really special spot.

Food tasted good! Everything else made the experience not so great. They played music that belonged in a beach club and the lights are a bright white. They didn’t have any cold Cobra beers so we ended up having Budweiser which was fine, but for a Friday night they could have been a bit more organised. 10 minutes before they closed they came over with our bill and started cleaning up, so we felt rushed and awkward. Charged us for more beers than ordered which was amended. We spent over £130 for the three of us but felt that the evening wasn’t very enjoyable or worth the money spent. If they were a little more hospitable we would potentially return but because of that we won’t be. Hopefully these things can be improved in the future! Best of luck.

Great little restaurant in Formosa Street. Even though we booked, it was empty on a Sunday evening. The service was friendly and always attentive. The starters were amazing, specially the panni puri which was 10/10. The mains were also good, specially the paneer tikka with rice and French wine we paired that with. Overall, one of the best Indian options to dine in around the area.
Great Service,Excellent Presentation, Great Value For Money. Excellent service given by the Manager.

Fantastic little French restaurant serving delicious dishes. The beef was superb. There is also a vast fantastic wine selection that is reasonably priced. A little in house deli selling a small selection of cheese and pate is a lovely addition to what's already a delightful hidden gem. Perfect for a date, dinner with friends or solo dining. The staff and service is excellent too!

Fabulous place, great food - why go to France when Paulette is at your doorstep?
Only drawback being you really MUST book a table. It’s very tiny and quickly fills up. Totally recommend this place.

I’ve been to Paulette multiple times being local to the area. It never disappoints! The perfect rich and comforting meal with amazing wine choices. The atmosphere is lovely and feels that of a quaint French restaurant. Most recently I enjoyed the butternut squash soup with thyme infused oil and the duck confit with fig. The perfect cold weather meal! I can’t wait to return and try more of the menu!
