Selfridges London
Selfridges on Oxford Street is the second largest shop in the UK and is considered to be one of the best department stores in the world
Selfridges flagship store opened in 1909 in the heart of London's Oxford Street shopping district. It is only a three minute walk from Bond Street Tube Station.
Founded by Gordon Selfridge, success came from making shopping fun by displaying merchandise in a way that customers could easily see and examine it. He also put the high profit perfume displays front and centre at store entrance. These methods have since been adopted by department stores throughout the world. Another big first for this store was the first introduction of television to the public in 1925.
Selfridges has always been famous for its bold window displays which are a tourist attraction in and of themselves.
Selfridges departments include, womenswear, menswear, accessories, beauty, home & leisure, kids, food & wine and giftware.
As with the other top London department stores there are plenty of in store food and drink options ranging from quick snacks and deserts to French Bistros.

Selfridges’ window displays have always been a visual treat, and their Christmas displays are especially impressive. This year, they’ve partnered with Disney—more precisely, Disney is sponsoring all the holiday window displays, as well as some interior décor, including the iconic Christmas Shop.
As my daughter and I walked past Selfridges, we couldn’t help but stop and take photos of every window. She asked, “What’s the connection between Disney and Selfridges that makes this partnership make sense?” A good question.
For starters, Selfridges would be investing in elaborate Christmas displays regardless. And Disney, with its beloved characters and family-friendly films, is already a major part of the holiday entertainment landscape. But there’s more: earned media.
Without this partnership, most people wouldn’t visit a Disney store or theme park just to take photos and share them online. But now, thanks to Selfridges’ prime location and footfall, Disney is receiving a flood of organic social media exposure—mine included.
From a marketing perspective, this is a brilliant collaboration. Selfridges benefits from eye-catching displays and likely savings on decoration costs. Disney gains massive brand visibility and indirect promotion for its content and platforms like Disney+.
A smart, win-win partnership that makes the season a little more magical for everyone.

Had an amazing time shopping in Selfridges, the Disney Christmas 🎄 decorations are fabulous. My wife bought an iPhone cover from Cadetify lover ground floor, staff was super friendly and helpful… she designed her own cover that was printed and ready to pick up 30 minutes later. All floors are nicely Christmas 🎅🏼 decorated. We will be back soon again.

The technology, books and food areas were nice, and dare I say more financially attainable 😂
The Christmas shop was fun, but some of the baubles were quite ridiculously priced.
A nice place for the eyes.
Definitely a very expensive shop, so visit at your own risk 😂

What an extraordinary department store. Visiting during the Christmas season is second to none. It was my 4th visit to London but my first visit to Selfridges. The Christmas windows are a delight. Nothing like it. Selfridges is definitely worth a visit ❤️

Amazing place with most brands under 1 roof. The VIP Lounge is a treat. You really are pampered n very well taken care of. The staff is very humble n polite. Their pleasant smile n small talks makes you relax n comfortable. A small reading place where you can find your me time n away from the world. No one to distract or disturb you, a perfect secluded spot.
