Selfridges London
Selfridges on Oxford Street is the second largest shop in the UK and is considered to be one of the best department stores in the world

Selfridges flagship store opened in 1909 in the heart of London's Oxford Street shopping district. It is only a three minute walk from Bond Street Tube Station.
Founded by Gordon Selfridge, success came from making shopping fun by displaying merchandise in a way that customers could easily see and examine it. He also put the high profit perfume displays front and centre at store entrance. These methods have since been adopted by department stores throughout the world. Another big first for this store was the first introduction of television to the public in 1925.
Selfridges has always been famous for its bold window displays which are a tourist attraction in and of themselves.
Selfridges departments include, womenswear, menswear, accessories, beauty, home & leisure, kids, food & wine and giftware.
As with the other top London department stores there are plenty of in store food and drink options ranging from quick snacks and deserts to French Bistros.

Really cool store. Lots of places to get treats or a lunch. Browsing will definitely get your appetite perked up with so many options to try. The location could use more seating for people that want to eat in. Great location right on Oxford Street too.

Selfridges is a huge and impressive department store featuring brands from all over the world. It offers a wide and elegant space where you can explore fashion, cosmetics, and luxury items. Even just walking through the floors is a delight. The food court is also excellent, with restaurants and cafés serving delicious dishes from various cuisines. A must-visit for both shopping and enjoying a stylish break.

They don't make stores like this anymore which in itself is a reason to go. Like Harrod's, this is a classic department store that will flood your mind with memories no matter where you are from. Everything about this place is cool, and there is truly something for everyone here. Oh yeah, they also got a large Jellycat department here too, the largest we saw in London.

As an American visiting London, Selfridges on Oxford Street was a real highlight. The store is massive, beautifully designed, and has everything; from luxury fashion to cool British brands and everyday items. It felt more like an experience than just shopping.
We stopped for frappe and some pastries in the food hall, and it totally exceeded expectations. It’s a perfect spot to take a break and people-watch.
The staff were helpful without being pushy, and they offer VAT refunds for tourists, which made my splurge a bit sweeter.
Whether you're shopping or just browsing, Selfridges is a must-see for any visitor to London.

Selfridges – A Must-Visit for Shopaholics!
Selfridges is hands down one of the most fun and stylish places to shop in London. From luxury brands to cool high-street finds, there’s so much to explore under one roof. The store itself is huge, beautifully designed, and always buzzing with energy.
The fashion floors are a dream — whether you're into designer labels or just looking for trendy pieces, there's something for every style and budget. The beauty section is equally amazing, with all the top skincare and makeup brands, plus staff who are super helpful without being pushy.
What really stands out is the overall experience. The displays are creative, the music sets the vibe, and there are often pop-ups or cool art installations going on. The Food Hall is also worth a stop — perfect for grabbing a quick treat or picking up something gourmet.
It’s not just a store, it’s a day out! Whether you’re shopping seriously or just window-shopping, Selfridges makes it feel special. Definitely worth a visit if you're in London.
