Took my partner for her birthday and it was superb!
The food was excellent, we shared the polpette and bread for starters, followed by steak frites for main and chicken parm for main course, this was served and eaten mostly before the jazz started.
Then once the music started the cocktails are excellent! Overall perfect spot for a special evening, we will be back!

We loved every second of our time here. Great music, great performances. The food was really good though I wished my burger was cooked better. Would recommend a visit if you like jazz and want a night out.

I’ve always wanted to visit a jazz bar in NYC. During my trip to the city, I looked up options on Google, and my choice was Smoke—both because of the performer scheduled for that night and the great reviews of the place. It was truly a wonderful experience: great music, excellent food, and fantastic service. The show starts right on time, so I suggest arriving a bit early and warming up with a drink at the attached bar. The location is perfect—we took the subway there and back. It was amazing

Great jazz club! Much more intimate than the downtown clubs. I like the reserved seating . I had the special cod dish which was very nice. Can’t wait to go again.

Smoke Jazz Club exceeded my expectations and I will be back again. Great vibes with even better music, this place is something everyone would enjoy and should experience!
FOOD -was great which made the overall experience even better. we started with the grilled octopus and roasted pork which did not disappoint. The octopus was soft and tasty with a nice char finish from the grill and the pork was a tender and savory slab pared with an apple- apricot chutney which was soooo good! For dinner I had the New York Strip medium rare. This was steak house quality ! The outside had a nice crust and the inside was cooked to perfection.
DRINKS- we’re good, I asked for the Chai Espresso Martini and I’m pretty sure I was given a regular Espresso Martini which was fine, I didn’t mind. My bf had the old fashioned which was also really good! Would have been better with the cubed ice 🧊 to avoid getting watered down but it was still really nice.
Vibe/Music- The total atmosphere was stunning and intimate. At first when you step in your hit with the beautiful bar and chandeliers, it kinda gives off 1920’s. The space feels super romantic so I definitely recommend for dates. Because the space so intimate every part of the restaurant has a good view of the stage. The artist were great and the music did not disappoint. This place overall was very welcoming and inviting. Can’t wait to come back!

I absolutely love the food at Flor de Mayo restaurant. The service was great and we received it fast. The food tasted fresh and was hot. They have a wide selection of food, and all the dishes I have tasted are delicious. It’s hard to locate parking, but I highly recommend it when in the area. It’s a must try 😀

This place is an absolute gem! The food is consistently incredible — a perfect fusion of Chinese and Latin flavors that leaves you craving more every time. The drinks are just as amazing, perfectly crafted to complement the vibrant dishes.
Yes, the wait lines can be long, but trust me, it’s completely worth it. The energy, the atmosphere, and most importantly, the quality of the food make it clear why people are willing to wait.
I’ve celebrated multiple birthday parties here, and every single time has been unforgettable. The staff always makes sure everything runs smoothly, and the experience keeps me coming back. I can’t wait for my next visit!

i usually go to the location on 86th street but this location is just as great! the food, the drinks, and the people were all so good and lovely. menu highlights were: broiled pork chops, the shrimp soup (my all time favorite), squid fried rice, and can never go wrong with some piña coladas.

The first place I always eat at when I visit home!
My faves are the lomo saltado w/ green rice & maduros, and the garlic shrimp mofongo.
They have wonderful efficient staff and strong, tasty drinks also (I always go for the nutcracker).
Always delicious food and a good time here!

Started with the tella (a honey wine, coffee and jalapeño cocktail) and Timatim Fitfit for an appetizer. We had the awash chicken and the Yatakilt Alicha. Everything was incredible and fresh and flavorful. Prices were reasonable and service was good. My first time having Ethiopian food, it couldn’t have been better.

Awesome food! I love that you get to eat with your hands! There may be a cultural disconnect with the way that they wait on you but they are very respectful and nice with smiles! Get the platter with meats and veggies! So good!

The Best Ethiopian food compared to CT and FL.

The food is very good and tasty. Service is excellent. We orders Awash Special for 2 and a meat combo for 2. All put on one big plate for us to share. The servers kept checking on us and filling up the injera 3 times. The food is great. Will visit again.
Koala - 2 months ago
Awash was recommended by my Ethiopian friend as the best place to try their food. The welcome was warm and the service was friendly. We were five and initially wanted to order samplers with other items from the menu but the food sharing fee is a very unusual and alogical rule and we had to change our mind. Finally, we ordered individually different food from the menu. I tried beef and lentil Sambusa and beef Siga Tibs. The food was delicious, I really enjoyed Sambusa.
Overall, we enjoyed the evening but considering numerous factors we decided that it was worth trying but doubt to return shortly.

What an amazing discovery. Great atmosphere, wide menu selection, welcoming and professional service.

Great outdoor seating area, great staff, and amazing food. First time trying escargot and I was really impressed. I wanted to drink the broth that the mussells came in. Delicious meal. 10/10 would recommend. The manager was even nice enough to buy us a second round of drinks!

Absolutely wonderful!!! Tried snails for the first time and I have to be honest I was skeptical..but they were absolutely delicious!! Especially when paired up with the delicious bread they give you! Had steak and eggs with fries, omg!! The best steak and eggs I’ve ever had in my life! The bartenders were amazing and very communicative and comforting. Definitely coming here again!! 10/5!!!
Sorry I didn’t take pictures of the steak and eggs, I very much inhaled that food lol oh and the fries were spectacular too! Perfect amount of crunchy, crispy and flavorful!

Saturday brunch walk-in with the place filled to 40% capacity. Very chill vibes and French/Paris eatery setup with nice bright interiors.
I wish their draught selection was wider, but the Kronenbourg pint they had on tap was chilled and went down pretty easy!
For food, we got linguine with butter for out little butter cakes, Moroccan Sandwich ($19) with Spicy Lamb Sausage. The French Baguette was pretty hard to eat but the sausage was good.
The winner of the table though was an excellent Vegetarian Avocado Toast ($19). The Yellow and Red Cherry tomatoes and onions just elevated the taste to the next level for me!
Service was slightly slow in terms of our drinks. Food however arrived within 20 mins of ordering.
I can see Cafe Du Soleil become our regular brunch spot, especially whenever I am craving their amazing Avocado Toast!

We had the best time here! Everything was so tasty and well-prepared.
We started with peach bourbon and raspberry ginger cocktails—both super fresh, flavorful, and a great size. For food, we had the French onion soup, butternut squash soup, Hachis Parmentier Au Four (a French take on shepherd’s pie), and a croque madame. Every dish was perfectly seasoned—not too salty or sweet, just really good, comforting food.
For dessert, we split an apple tart, and it was the perfect way to end the meal—flaky, warm, and so delicious.
The staff was really friendly, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. We’ll definitely be back!

I selected one square cut and one traditional slice. The pizza was just ok. Crust was good and baked well, it’s the sauce! It’s weak. Not very flavorful! Add some marinara to help and more parimson cheese

I'm originally from NY, but have moved to NC. I came back for my grandson, who had heart surgery across the street and was hoping for some really good pizza. This place didn't disappoint - it was really good!
What I do have a problem with is bait and switch. Online prices are given, and when you walk in, the prices above, on the board match. I ordered, and what should have been $12+tax, turned out to be $18+tax. When I asked the girl at the register who, "only works here", she added that the actual prices are in their take away menu stacked on the counter. She also added that it was brought up weeks ago by another customer, and it's up to the owners to change the pricing and address the issue, not her.
I have no problem with paying for anything that is clearly stated by the establishment whatever it is that they charge. As a consumer, we make choices based on how much, and do we want it? There are hundreds of pizza places - WHY NOT be diligent and up front with your customers? It's deception and poor business.
Pizza, good.
Pizzeria and customer service, not so good.
If ever back in the city, I'll spend my hard earned money on another place that has more integrity and honesty.
☆And, girl at the register, MAYBE suggest patrons look at the actual menu on the counter that's next to the register, with current pricing, and not at the above the counter and online pricing.
You work there, do your job!

Sal and Carmine Pizza has the best pizza I have ever had. The aunts were fighting over the crust and they don’t even like crust! Even my grandma who has a very strict diet made an exception for this sublime pizza. Sal and Carmine is celebrating its 68th anniversary! If you like pizza, even if you have dietary restrictions, TRUST ME, you will love 🤩this pizza! Would HIGHLY recommend!

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed when I came here. I had looked at this place online to find a nice spot to eat with a friend to celebrate something. I had seen a lot of high rated reviews, many saying how this was “a rather iconic place in the upper west side,” and had high expectations for this place, but didn’t have the best experience. The place felt rather small and crammed, with only a few places to sit. Besides that, the food didn’t look the most appetizing. It was alright, but I had expected better. I’d probably look somewhere else for good pizza.

Tried the Margherita - the dough was really good, but the sauce tasted like plain tomato paste, too strong and unbalanced. A bit disappointing overall.
Shachar Ashkenazi - a week ago
Sal and Carmine’s on the Upper West Side is a true gem for pizza lovers! I ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza, and it was absolutely delicious. The pizza was generously topped with a rich, flavorful sauce that perfectly complemented the savory toppings. The crust had just the right amount of crispiness—light and airy but still with that satisfying crunch. What makes this place even better are the fair prices, especially for the PIZZA SIZE you’re getting. If you’re in the neighborhood and craving an authentic New York slice, Sal and Carmine’s is definitely worth a visit!
Also! The place boasts a huge interior space and a lot of seating too!

Sal & Carmine Pizza always hits the spot! To me, their pizza is underrated (which I don't mind because that means fewer people haha). Compared to all of the pizzerias in the neighborhood that sell *street pizza* they have the best. The sauce is a perfect balance of sweetness with savory. You can tell that they use fresh mozzarella. The crust is not too thick and not too thin either. If you want that crunch, ask them to heat your slice for a bit longer than usual. My bf and I always stop by to chat with the pizza maker and cashier. Both are great guys. We've never had a bad experience or a bad slice/pie. If you're in the neighborhood, definitely stop by to get a slice. You won't regret it. P.S. They're selling icees for a dollar (2 big scoops) you can't beat that deal, especially with this heat.

I gave a 4 because of the customer service but food overall was really good, the interior is nice, cool and chilled. The Steamed Thai dumpling were amazing and tasty, the pad kee mao was very good and I asked for mild, the kow soy was good, not too spicy at all, chicken was very tender and the sauce was flavorful and creamy.

You NEED to go here if you’re at Columbia or in the Upper West Side. Probably one of the best Thai spots I’ve been to. We got the pad ki Mao & pra ram tofu. SO GOOD. The rice is perfect, and on top of that the service is amazing. They’re super quick, always come and ask if you want anything, their hot sauces have all 4 of the sauces (the spicy pepper, small fresh pickled peppers, chili sauce… and one that I forget, because I don’t usually eat it). They have 2 bathrooms in the back, and the location is super cute.

Overcast Sunday random walk-in got us here. The place was not busy and we got an amazing window seat and got straight to ordering which included Kow Soy ($17.95), Vegetable Curry ($17.95) and, Curry Rice ($2.50) - a side portion which was enough to feed our little one!
Food overall was inline with expectations; nothing spectacular, but not disappoint either. Not much spice kick, but the Kow Soy was packed with flavor and the Vegetable Curry, not so much! Decent portion sizes too.
Service was slightly slow, but food arrived within 25-mins of ordering. Noise levels on the lower end. Will visit again for sure!

One of the few times I give 5 stars. Aside from price, the place was like perfect. The servers, serve in a way that is there but also non invasive. The atmosphere is clean, on theme, and we'll lit for a nice mood. And the food... well is like premium/quality Thai.
I had an aversion from a previous experience with Thai in another restaurant and this place helped me get over it.
I ordered the panang curry which they easily and without hassle substituted the meat with salmon. And it was beautifully plated, the salmon was perfectly cooked tender and flaky, flavor on point, and just ask around perfection. I also ordered a pomegranate ginger ale and it was alright. Not that good. Too much sugar but the curry was bomb.
Tried my friend's curry as well and it also slapped. So good!

Random walk-in to try their lunch buffet on a Sat afternoon got us here. Old skool Indian restaurant; dated interiors, old bar that still serves Indian classic cocktails, and a buffet that surprisingly manages to justify its $21 price tag (half-priced for kids under 6).
Poonam, our hostess got us seated and we went straight to grabbing our food, Their buffet selection was limited, but felt perfect. Snacks included Samosa's and Chicken Pakoras with a tasty green chutney, and mains focused on dependable classics like Aloo Gobi, Saag Paneer, and a rather bland Dal Makhni. They had one Indo-Chinese mains - Fish Chilly, and non-veg mains included Chicken Tikka Masala, Goat Curry, Chicken Kali-Mirch. They also had Biryani Rice and Choley Bhature, but the Bhatura's were very thick and disappointing.
They served naan and rotis on the table and the staff was friendly. Restaurant had a good amount of foot traffic throughout our stay! Will definitely be our local go-to-Indian restaurant in the neighborhood!

A superior Indian restaurant with white linen table cloth service— and napkins. Truly a feast for the senses. Delectable dishes that spoils anyone at any age and keeps them them coming back for more. Situated on Broadway on the upper Westside it’s a lively spot with a veranda front glass enclosure upon entry into the main dining area. Like walking into a ballroom it has a spectacular moment inside it’s spaciousness. The menu’s expansive selection is replete with everything that’s popular with great Indian cuisine both vegan and non-vegan entrees. A definite place for romantic dinner dates and family gathering spots. Hard to pass up a really extraordinarily wonderful experience even when dining solo …simply perfect.

The meal was fine but what really ruined my experience was to see the staff eat behind the counter while handling and serving food, we even made eye contact and the busser just shrugged his shoulders, continued eating and not caring about the empty plates in front of me.
The lack of respect to costumers is what really ruined my meal, I understand the staff is young but they need common knowledge and decency with food handling.
