Was a nice cozy and warm, welcoming was fantastic. Seating was quick. Food was excellent.
However, table are very tiny seating are very tight. Music was nice was expecting more. No one singing just playing on instrument player was professional not up to my test.

Smoke Jazz Club in Manhattan is a whole mood. 🎷✨ The energy is laid-back and classy—more “hidden lounge” than loud nightclub—and the vibe feels like you stumbled into something special.
The band was smooth as silk. The saxophone had this rich, warm tone, and the piano and drums kept everything flowing effortlessly—chilled sounds all night without ever feeling boring. Just good music you can really sink into.
The drinks matched the experience too: well-crafted, balanced, and straight-up on point. Plus the staff were genuinely attentive, checking in at the right times and making sure everything ran smoothly.
Overall, it’s that low-key, members-only style spot where you can relax, enjoy the music, and feel like you’re part of the moment. Definitely worth going.

It’s a small club, so you really get to feel the intensity up close.
Before and after the show, you can interact with the musicians in the lounge.
The food is excellent.

Just left the 6:30 show. Our dinner sitting was scheduled for 6pm. That was perfect timing if you do not order apps. If you think you will, 5:30 seating may be better. It was perfect for us because we just ordered entrees & drinks. Both were very good. If you like a smooth slightly tart but not cloyingly sweet cocktail, ask for a Casa Migos Reposado South Street. Our uber driver recommended anything seafood. I had the seafood special with couscous & broccolini. All cooked perfectly. Hubby had the mushroom ragu & the polenta sticks & mushrooms were savory & flavorful without being spicy. Most of all, excellent jazz music! Loved the vibe, band, stories. A tween-ager sitting next to me was rockin’ to the jazz and it was a joy to see. Sorry review is so long. It was just a fabulous, memorable experience that I highly recommend.

There's no other Jazz Club like Smoke. I've been going there for years before the renovation. It maintains it's status of elegance, great management, good food and service.
I go to many jazz clubs that honestly aren't excellent in all these categories. The musicians are some of the greats. Thank you for maintaing your excellan e.

I enjoyed my visit here! They have a very large menu with both Peruvian and Chinese cuisine. The drinks are strong and delicious. I really enjoyed the egg foo young
I came here a second time and had a great experience. I really enjoyed the Chicken Lomo. So good!

Delicious food all around! The ají de gallina was fantastic, creamy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The maduros were absolute perfection, caramelized just right. Service was friendly and attentive, and they were so accommodating, even adding an extra person to our table last minute without any issue. A great spot for comforting Peruvian dishes and a relaxed, welcoming vibe.

Pleasantly surprised by the food! I got the Lomo Saltados and my GF got the Tallarin Saltados. Portion sizes were relatively large; my gf and I could've probably shared a main and gotten an appetizer.
Atmosphere was charming and service was fast and good. Would def eat here again.

I found this restaurant because I was looking for Peruvian Chicken and boy did this place exceed my expectations. This is a Chinese/Peruvian fusion so their menu is quite extensive. My family of 5 loved everything they ordered, service was friendly and timely. Would definitely come again!

Great but BEWARE! Google says open at two P.M. but really they are not open until closer to 2:45-3pm! And then, if you arrive right, when they have opened, you will be smelling cleaning chemicals for 45 minutes. It gave me a headache. No such problems in the evening.
The gluten-free injera is really good. I only eat a vegetarian meal, I usually get the vegan sampler, but the 7 different options are quality.
The service is good, the staff is very nice, and this is one of my favorite places to go for Ethiopian food in the city. 🇪🇹

We’ve been going to both locations for decades and last night, for the first time, we went for Valentine’s Day and it was perfect! They did a little decorating (cute, they made an effort) and the special kitfo with vegan sampler was the best. The service was especially sweet and she was really working so hard and it was packed — the grace under pressure was worthy of recognition. Thank you, Awash!

Started with the tella (a honey wine, coffee and jalapeño cocktail) and Timatim Fitfit for an appetizer. We had the awash chicken and the Yatakilt Alicha. Everything was incredible and fresh and flavorful. Prices were reasonable and service was good. My first time having Ethiopian food, it couldn’t have been better.

5/5 Ethiopian food!!! I’ve now been here three times in the last two years, and have traveled from all over Manhattan to come eat at this Awash! I love their Kitfo and vegetarian sampler platter. I’ll have to keep coming back so I can try everything on the menu! This isn’t fast food and it’s meant to be enjoyed slowly, so don’t eat here if you’re in a hurry.

I have been coming to this iconic, lovely, lively, warm restaurant for more than a decade — I bring everyone I love here. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff was also very attentive, with reasonable prices. However, we had 4 different steaks and unfortunately while they were all cooked perfectly the actual quality of the meat was quite low and none of us enjoyed it. This could have been a one time thing however I have to mention it. That being said our appetizers were delicious.

What an amazing discovery. Great atmosphere, wide menu selection, welcoming and professional service.
Every dish we tried left us curving to return for more. My personal surprise was a blood sausage. I tried plenty of them cooked Slavic style, but one we had in Cafe du Soleil - best of the best!!!

Cute, quaint spot. The customer service was great.
What we initially came in to try wasn’t available but I was not disappointed with my visit. The food was absolutely delicious. My sister who dislikes ham thoroughly enjoyed her quiche Lorraine. I enjoyed the croque madame. I do wish the side salads had dressing. The caramel macchiatos were some of the best coffee I’ve had in a long time. The crepe was perfect balance of tart and sweet.

Saturday brunch walk-in with the place filled to 40% capacity. Very chill vibes and French/Paris eatery setup with nice bright interiors.
I wish their draught selection was wider, but the Kronenbourg pint they had on tap was chilled and went down pretty easy!
For food, we got linguine with butter for out little butter cakes, Moroccan Sandwich ($19) with Spicy Lamb Sausage. The French Baguette was pretty hard to eat but the sausage was good.
The winner of the table though was an excellent Vegetarian Avocado Toast ($19). The Yellow and Red Cherry tomatoes and onions just elevated the taste to the next level for me!
Service was slightly slow in terms of our drinks. Food however arrived within 20 mins of ordering.
I can see Cafe Du Soleil become our regular brunch spot, especially whenever I am craving their amazing Avocado Toast!

Very good pizza! They have a lot of flavors and the people there are very nice! The space, even though is a little small, is nice and clean!

I selected one square cut and one traditional slice. The pizza was just ok. Crust was good and baked well, it’s the sauce! It’s weak. Not very flavorful! Add some marinara to help and more parimson cheese

I'm originally from NY, but have moved to NC. I came back for my grandson, who had heart surgery across the street and was hoping for some really good pizza. This place didn't disappoint - it was really good!
What I do have a problem with is bait and switch. Online prices are given, and when you walk in, the prices above, on the board match. I ordered, and what should have been $12+tax, turned out to be $18+tax. When I asked the girl at the register who, "only works here", she added that the actual prices are in their take away menu stacked on the counter. She also added that it was brought up weeks ago by another customer, and it's up to the owners to change the pricing and address the issue, not her.
I have no problem with paying for anything that is clearly stated by the establishment whatever it is that they charge. As a consumer, we make choices based on how much, and do we want it? There are hundreds of pizza places - WHY NOT be diligent and up front with your customers? It's deception and poor business.
Pizza, good.
Pizzeria and customer service, not so good.
If ever back in the city, I'll spend my hard earned money on another place that has more integrity and honesty.
☆And, girl at the register, MAYBE suggest patrons look at the actual menu on the counter that's next to the register, with current pricing, and not at the above the counter and online pricing.
You work there, do your job!

Sal and Carmine’s on the Upper West Side is a true gem for pizza lovers! I ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza, and it was absolutely delicious. The pizza was generously topped with a rich, flavorful sauce that perfectly complemented the savory toppings. The crust had just the right amount of crispiness—light and airy but still with that satisfying crunch. What makes this place even better are the fair prices, especially for the PIZZA SIZE you’re getting. If you’re in the neighborhood and craving an authentic New York slice, Sal and Carmine’s is definitely worth a visit!
Also! The place boasts a huge interior space and a lot of seating too!

It's a nice place with a great ambiance. Pizza is always fresh. I've never had a bad slice from there. Whenever I'm in the neighborhood with my friends, I go here. I have had many friends fall in love with the place. If you're looking for the classic New York slice, this is where to go.

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed when I came here. I had looked at this place online to find a nice spot to eat with a friend to celebrate something. I had seen a lot of high rated reviews, many saying how this was “a rather iconic place in the upper west side,” and had high expectations for this place, but didn’t have the best experience. The place felt rather small and crammed, with only a few places to sit. Besides that, the food didn’t look the most appetizing. It was alright, but I had expected better. I’d probably look somewhere else for good pizza.

I took a stroll down the neighborhood looking for a meal. Fortunately, I found this restaurant, and it did not disappoint. They serve all the traditional dishes you seek, the goat curry was exceptionally delicious, and the garlic naan had the perfect balance of flavors. The decor is elegant and atmosphere is perfect for any date night or an evening dinner for one. Service was quick and attentive. I will definitely return on my next venture to Manhattan.

The food at this restaurant is delicious.
I ordered the Chicken Korma, and my wife chose the buffet — everything was very good.
The service was good overall, even if it could be a little warmer, but nothing major. The decor is quite average.
That said, we come here mainly to eat well, and that’s exactly what we did.
There are also vegetarian options available, which is a real plus.
I recommend this place and will most likely come back.

The smell of authentic Indian incense and spices hit our noses upon entry. The calming and inviting atmosphere was immediately welcoming.
Our table was in a corner with each dinner linen folded to perfection at each place setting.
We shared many dishes for the table including chutney Raita, Pakoras, garlic shrimp, Barry Kebab, Lamb biryani, Malabar (salmon) Fish Masala, basmati rice, garlic naan (baked to perfection).
All of the sauces for each dish were creamy, rich, flavorful, with just enough spice to savor every bite.
The drinks were incredible. Mango margarita was smooth and delicious. The spicy mango margarita was made to order and spicy how I like it. And the Sauvignon blanc was crisp and dry for dinner. Delicious.
Always a guarantee at Manhattan Valley. Always.

Random walk-in to try their lunch buffet on a Sat afternoon got us here. Old skool Indian restaurant; dated interiors, old bar that still serves Indian classic cocktails, and a buffet that surprisingly manages to justify its $21 price tag (half-priced for kids under 6).
Poonam, our hostess got us seated and we went straight to grabbing our food, Their buffet selection was limited, but felt perfect. Snacks included Samosa's and Chicken Pakoras with a tasty green chutney, and mains focused on dependable classics like Aloo Gobi, Saag Paneer, and a rather bland Dal Makhni. They had one Indo-Chinese mains - Fish Chilly, and non-veg mains included Chicken Tikka Masala, Goat Curry, Chicken Kali-Mirch. They also had Biryani Rice and Choley Bhature, but the Bhatura's were very thick and disappointing.
They served naan and rotis on the table and the staff was friendly. Restaurant had a good amount of foot traffic throughout our stay! Will definitely be our local go-to-Indian restaurant in the neighborhood!

Pros:
beef patty (and by that, I mean they serve it)
the biggest dining area in the hood w/AC
cheap slice
they got ice cream
open late
wings are an option…
feels kind of dirty

In a city where everything is big price small plate, it’s refreshing to see how much you get for. The pictures do not do it justice. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Salad which was massive with a huge amount of tuna, greens, and sauce on the side. I thought the sauce on the side was a nice touch. They do make the tuna medium rare, so if you don’t like that then tell them to cook it well done. Then I ordered the Salmon Rigatoni (in cream sauce), the salmon pieces they give you are absolutely huge and it’s all top quality salmon cooked to perfection. There wasn’t a little either, there was a lot. Both dishes I had were created perfectly in flavors, textures, and doneness, and were uncommon for typcial diners to have but more than welcomed in my book. The service I received during my visit was nothing short of excellent, the server I had was attentive and never let my cup of soda go empty and brought my food out very quickly. Also it is worth mentioning, the decor of this place is very beautiful. It’s both modern and retro, while being modest. In short, this is one of the nicest experiences I’ve ever had at a diner in the city.

I ordered a lemonade. They served it in a plastic cup. I was appauled. I wont be returning. Highly priced garbage in my opinion. To top it all off i was given a reciept i could not unerstand because it was a hand written mess. No formal reciept was generated or available. It felt so illegal. Scored 0 out of 100.

Made reservations for brunch, but wasn't needed. The place was rather quiet on Sat, but it was also freezing outside.
Got a cozy window seating and loved the ambiance thanks to their floral interiors along with holiday ligthing right next to our table. Noise levels on the quiet side and easy to have conversations.
They have a decent kids menu, and the Chicken Fingers ($10) were perfect for our little one. Huevos Rancheros ($19), and Vegetarian Omelette ($19) which was served with home fries and tossed salad was a good portion. Kimbo Coffee ($4.25) was actually pretty good although would've loved it to be warmer. Refills were slow to come. Food was inline with our expectations.
Food arrived within 8-10 mins of placing our order, so yeah, really quick! Our initial server/waiter wasn't that attentive but their crew members were definitely more alert.
Overall, pretty decent experience.
