5 Star Rating Visited from out of town and wanted to visit a jazz supper club. Smoke did not disappoint! We ended up with late show tickets so we arrived early to have dinner. I am pescatarian and they had several options. I ended up with salmon which was delicious! They have a great selection of cocktails and wine as well. They offer outdoor seating and were showing the World Cup which was great. The space is sexy and the staff is very attentive and kind. The music venue is intimate and every seat is a great seat! We were seated next to the drummer which was quite the experience. The Emmet Cohen Trio was great! Overall it was a fabulous experience and I highly recommend visiting. I know I’ll be back when I’m in town again!

4 Star Rating Smoke Jazz Club in Manhattan is a whole mood. 🎷✨ The energy is laid-back and classy—more “hidden lounge” than loud nightclub—and the vibe feels like you stumbled into something special. The band was smooth as silk. The saxophone had this rich, warm tone, and the piano and drums kept everything flowing effortlessly—chilled sounds all night without ever feeling boring. Just good music you can really sink into. The drinks matched the experience too: well-crafted, balanced, and straight-up on point. Plus the staff were genuinely attentive, checking in at the right times and making sure everything ran smoothly. Overall, it’s that low-key, members-only style spot where you can relax, enjoy the music, and feel like you’re part of the moment. Definitely worth going.

2 Star Rating A friend generously invited us for the show and the music was genuinely great. The food and service disappointed us however. First we ordered in Esquites that came on its own with forks (?). We wanted to mix and share between the appetizers and the entrees, seafood-themed, but our waitress let us know - quite bluntly - that we had to have one entree per person unless we ordered in caviar. We eventually decided to order the caviar but then that wasn’t possible any more for some reason. (We would have ended up spending as much money or more if we got to order the dishes we wished for). The salmon came in undercooked - we should have sent it back but we were too engaged in the music at that point. Water glasses were empty, good thing I brought my water bottle to keep us hydrated! Overall, embarrassing treatment in a place with upscale aspirations. We had a great night anyways thanks to the music! Almost forgot, on our way to the restroom our waitress reminded us that we indeed need to pay - maybe the peak condescension from her throughout the evening - which we surprisingly did! Again, for a place that takes on a large costume it may be good to find a way to fit in it too… anyway you should really go have a drink here and enjoy the masterful musicians they manage to book! Enjoy!

4 Star Rating With so many great restaurants lining Amsterdam Avenue, it’s not easy to stand out—but Flor De Mayo absolutely does. If you’re craving authentic Peruvian cuisine with a strong Chinese (Chifa) influence, this is a spot you won’t want to miss. The dining room has a lively yet relaxed atmosphere, with soft music in the background that makes it perfect for everything from a casual dinner to a night out with friends. One thing to know before you go: this place is popular, especially during peak lunch and dinner hours. You may have to wait for a table, but don’t let that discourage you. The food, generous portions, friendly service, and overall experience make it well worth it. After one visit, you’ll understand why locals keep coming back. We kicked things off with a couple of appetizers that set the tone for the entire meal. Yuccas Arequipeña (not pictured) featured perfectly fried cassava topped with red onions and a rich, creamy huancaína sauce made with queso fresco, garlic, red onion, and aji amarillo. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with flavor. The Choros a la Chalaca were just as impressive. Fresh mussels topped with diced tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and lime juice. Bright, refreshing, and bursting with fresh flavor—I could have easily ordered another plate. For our entrées, every dish arrived piping hot, beautifully presented, and generously portioned. The Lomo Saltado was everything you hope for in this classic Peruvian favorite. Tender slices of steak stir-fried with onions and tomatoes, served with crispy fries and fluffy white rice. A true comfort food classic. The Seco de Res was outstanding. The beef was fork-tender, slowly braised in a rich cilantro sauce with carrots and potatoes, then served with rice that was perfect for soaking up every bit of that incredible sauce. The Broiled Pork Chops were juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, paired with delicious fried rice and a fresh salad. We also ordered the Mixed Ceviche, loaded with fresh fish, squid, and octopus cured in lime juice with onions. It was bright, citrusy, incredibly fresh, and the perfect contrast to the heartier entrées. Every dish came out hot, fresh, and surprisingly quickly, even with the restaurant being busy. A huge shout-out to Carlos, who made an already great meal even better. He was attentive without hovering, knew the menu inside and out, answered every question, and made excellent recommendations. Service like his is one of the reasons this restaurant continues to earn such a loyal following. If you visit, definitely ask for Carlos. From the warm hospitality and inviting atmosphere to the outstanding food, generous portions, and excellent value, Flor De Mayo delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. It’s easy to see why this Upper West Side gem has been a neighborhood favorite for years. If you’re anywhere near Amsterdam Avenue and looking for incredible Peruvian-Chinese cuisine, Flor De Mayo should be at the top of your list. Whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, it’s absolutely worth the wait—and I’ll definitely be back to work my way through the rest of the menu.

5 Star Rating Pleasantly surprised by the food! I got the Lomo Saltados and my GF got the Tallarin Saltados. Portion sizes were relatively large; my gf and I could've probably shared a main and gotten an appetizer. Atmosphere was charming and service was fast and good. Would def eat here again.

4 Star Rating First time at Awash as we'd been meaning to try some Ethiopian food for a while. We walked in for Sunday lunch and the place was not that busy. Place felt a bit warm with the air conditioning not that effective, and rather loud music. Good music, but loud. Interiors looked pretty dated, but that didn't bother us. Yoseuf was single handedly managing the place, so service took a slight hit, but he was friendly and welcoming enough. We got the Chicken Sampler for two, which was priced at $50, which gives you the option to chose two types of Chicken (from 2 options!) and is accompanied with some lentils, and a nice cabbage, and beets vegetable. Injera was pretty good, and went well with the food. We polished our family style plate after it arrived within 20 mins of ordering. Overall, food met our expectations and it wasn't too spicy at all. A 3% convenience fee is added when using a credit card. Will certainly visit again when we are in a mood for some Ethiopian food!

5 Star Rating Loved loved this place. It was my first time getting Ethiopian food and I thought it was amazing. Got the veggie platter and the spices/seasoning was soo good. The combo together was delicious- really loved the beets complementing the chickpea mix. Everything was wrapped in a type of bread/wrap which has a kind of grainy texture but is very complementary. Got this for take out and 100% would get again. Large portion as we had it for 2 meals.

5 Star Rating Great but BEWARE! Google says open at two P.M. but really they are not open until closer to 2:45-3pm! And then, if you arrive right, when they have opened, you will be smelling cleaning chemicals for 45 minutes. It gave me a headache. No such problems in the evening. The gluten-free injera is really good. I only eat a vegetarian meal, I usually get the vegan sampler, but the 7 different options are quality. The service is good, the staff is very nice, and this is one of my favorite places to go for Ethiopian food in the city. 🇪🇹

5 Star Rating Cute, quaint spot. The customer service was great. What we initially came in to try wasn’t available but I was not disappointed with my visit. The food was absolutely delicious. My sister who dislikes ham thoroughly enjoyed her quiche Lorraine. I enjoyed the croque madame. I do wish the side salads had dressing. The caramel macchiatos were some of the best coffee I’ve had in a long time. The crepe was perfect balance of tart and sweet.

However, we had 4 different steaks and unfortunately while they were all cooked perfectly the actual quality of the meat was quite low and none of us enjoyed it. The pizza was generously topped with a rich, flavorful sauce that perfectly complemented the savory toppings. The crust had just the right amount of crispiness—light and airy but still with that satisfying crunch. 5 Star Rating I have been coming here for years with my friends, Eric S, Victoria W and Susan S. I feel that this is the best Indian Restaurant in the UWS. The food is always perfectly cooked, authentic and delicious. I had Chicken Korma for the first time and it was incredible. The staff is personable, friendly and helpful. The Owner and his son are always very helpful and informative. Most of the Indian Restaurants on the UWS are too bright, too noisy, and too small. Manhattan Valley is comfortable and quiet. I highly recommend this Restaurant. This Video was shot and narrated by Eric S and Victoria W.

Wide selection of dishes, which are always served with naan; they have chicken biryani, goat curry, tikka masala, poori, aloo matter, saag paneer, samosa, gulab jamun, and kheer, to name some. A reasonably priced buffet is something rare to find in the Upper West Side, and that too near Columbia University. Though they allow walk-ins, it is better to reserve a table beforehand.

5 Star Rating In a city where everything is big price small plate, it’s refreshing to see how much you get for. The pictures do not do it justice. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Salad which was massive with a huge amount of tuna, greens, and sauce on the side. I thought the sauce on the side was a nice touch. They do make the tuna medium rare, so if you don’t like that then tell them to cook it well done. Then I ordered the Salmon Rigatoni (in cream sauce), the salmon pieces they give you are absolutely huge and it’s all top quality salmon cooked to perfection. There wasn’t a little either, there was a lot. Both dishes I had were created perfectly in flavors, textures, and doneness, and were uncommon for typcial diners to have but more than welcomed in my book. The service I received during my visit was nothing short of excellent, the server I had was attentive and never let my cup of soda go empty and brought my food out very quickly. Also it is worth mentioning, the decor of this place is very beautiful. It’s both modern and retro, while being modest. In short, this is one of the nicest experiences I’ve ever had at a diner in the city.

5 Star Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ While visiting New York on a one-day trip from Boston, we decided to have dinner at The Ellington, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our day! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The mussels in the garlic white wine sauce were incredibly fresh, and the sauce was so flavorful we didn’t want to leave a single drop behind. The classic burger was juicy and perfectly cooked, served with crispy, golden French fries. The Margherita pizza had a beautiful, unique presentation and tasted just as good as it looked. I also tried The Ellington’s house beer, and it was fantastic—fresh, aromatic, beautifully balanced, and one of the best beers I’ve had in a long time. For dessert, we shared the pistachio crème brûlée and the apple tart, both of which were outstanding. Paired with great coffee, they were the perfect ending to an amazing meal. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food and service. A special thank you to our server, Nahid, who provided exceptional service. He was incredibly friendly, knew the menu inside and out, and made excellent recommendations based on our preferences. His hospitality made our evening even more enjoyable. Thank you, The Ellington, for making our New York trip even more memorable. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in the city. Greetings from Boston! ❤️

Got a cozy window seating and loved the ambiance thanks to their floral interiors along with holiday ligthing right next to our table. Noise levels on the quiet side and easy to have conversations. They have a decent kids menu, and the Chicken Fingers ($10) were perfect for our little one. Huevos Rancheros ($19), and Vegetarian Omelette ($19) which was served with home fries and tossed salad was a good portion. Kimbo Coffee ($4.25) was actually pretty good although would've loved it to be warmer. Refills were slow to come. Food was inline with our expectations. Food arrived within 8-10 mins of placing our order, so yeah, really quick! Our initial server/waiter wasn't that attentive but their crew members were definitely more alert. 5 Star Rating The Ellington is my go to for Brunch whenever I’m in NYC. The food selection and preparation is excellent and the service is unmatched. Staff is always pleasant and attentive. The ambiance is elegant and there are several different options for seating depending on your vibe. The outdoor patio reminds me of a garden cafe in France. The drinks are spectacular and well crafted in the cutest glassware. I’ve been a regular here for over 3 years and they never disappoint. The manager Cherri is a darling and the server Nahid is irreplaceable! - Katt, Kevin and the Baby

5 Star Rating I like Ben & Jerrys and their ice creams are really special. But the thing is difficult to found good moral in business. And they stand with the correct side of history and we appreciate that.

5 Star Rating I had a large strawberry swirl ice cream in a waffle cone. It's great. My buddy had a small vanilla ice cream. The ice cream scooper was really helpful and nice.
