5 Star Rating Went here to celebrate my birthday last week and not going to lie it was a nice little vibe. We got there at 8:30 and it was busy in there. The waiting wasn’t too bad due to us making reservations ahead of time so that worked in our favor. The music was good and the waiter greeted us in less than five minutes after we sat. The drinks was very good and not watered down. We ordered appetizers and to my surprise it came really fast and it was VERY good. The environment is kid friendly and you could definitely take your kids there to eat and have a good time with the family. They have a wide selection of food and drinks to choose from and for the seafood lovers you will not regret going there. Overall a nice dining experience and the prices aren’t cheap but still affordable. Our bill came up to over $300 including gratuity.

4 Star Rating Could have been 5 * however i Didn't like the host out front canceling our reservation after arriving 2 minutes late after their 15 minute grace period. 6:17pm to be exact. Which honestly is a cop out, bc the place is small and all the tables were full anyway. I believe all they had to say was we're waiting for a finishing party to leave and we'll seat you shortly. We got seated before 7pm which wasn't bad after hounding security. Once seated music, atmosphere, vibe was on point. That garlic bread 🍞 Delicious especially since i was super hungry 😋. Our food 😋 👌🏾 deeeeelicious. I had the lamb chops OMG medium we'll, COOKED TO PERFECTION. My friends had the OH snap and enjoyed every bite. The T-Bone was tasteful and filling. A great night with Great Food. Oh and the complimentary HBD dessert was amazing too. 5ppl est 120.00 pp minus the bday girl

5 Star Rating I went to Ricardo’s Steakhouse for brunch to celebrate my birthday. I had 2pm reservations and arrived on time. There were three of us total. Cousin #1 ordered the chicken and waffles and wasn’t a fan. The chicken came as strips instead of a thigh or traditional piece and the taste just wasn’t there for her. Cousin #2 had the pork chops with rice and beans, and absolutely loved her meal. She said everything was seasoned perfectly. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was amazing well-seasoned, full of flavor, and I enjoyed every bite! Now let’s talk mimosas. You will definitely get your money’s worth! They are not served in a small flute, it’s more like a big plastic/pitcher style pour and very satisfying. One mimosa will take you where you need to be! Overall, I had a great time and I definitely recommend this spot. I’ll be back soon, best believe!

4 Star Rating We absolutely love Ricardo’s—it’s one of our go-to spots. The wait can be pretty long, so I definitely recommend making a reservation. It can be pricey and slightly upscale steakhouse with a great vibe, playing R&B and old school music. The food is consistently amazing everything is full of flavor and cooked perfectly. They offer a wide variety of options, and I’ve tried nearly every entrée on the menu. Not once have I been disappointed.

5 Star Rating Amazing pizza! Punto y fin. I was so happy to be back in New York for the holidays and I wanted to hit my favorite local spot that has been there for years. I was born and raised in East Harlem. My wife and daughter were familiar with as well when she lived with me in NY for three years. It did not disappoint and well worth it to go a bit out of our way and swing back to my old hood! The pizza was fresh and delicious and was as good as I remember!!! It has changed management a few times but the quality of the pizza is still superb and they way NY pizza is supposed to taste!! We were so happy it was just as good as we remember!! These folks never disappoint. You want real pizza this is it. Look it up and go off the grid a bit to grab a slice! You will not regret it!

5 Star Rating I order the mini pizzas (1 pepperoni and 1 vodka) I called to see what size a mini pizza is because there were no pictures online to show me and the gentleman was kind enough to let me know over the phone theat they are about 12inches. Their vodka pizza was AMAZING like I want to order it everyday amazing. The pepperoni which is usually my favorite idk it just was lacking something to me. It wasn't bad at all but it also wasn't great. I would order the the vodka pizza again. (I can't add photos to my review for some reason☹️)

5 Star Rating Great service, great food and atmosphere. The best Puerto Rican cuisine in El Barrio. The pernil and rice are so good, the bacalaitos amazing and the best so far are the Mallorcas shipped weekly from Puerto Rico. Can’t get more authentic than that! Drinks are great as well. The staff is great and the owner is prime example of amazing customer service! Highly recommended 10/10

5 Star Rating La Fonda is an amazing place, full stop! First of all, the food is excellent! I'm very picky about Puerto Rican food because my grandmother was an excellent cook (and in many ways, noone can reproduce what she used to do), and she taught me how to cook. So my bar for excellence in Puerto Rican gastronomy is very high. La Fonda clears that high bar easily, and then adds complete authenticity! Then their drinks are crafted with care and creativity! Finally, their owner James treats you like family, while the staff does the same! La Fonda is also a great place to have an event, or get to do the catering for your event. And when they aren't feeding people, they are providing the community with a place to gather for all sorts of community based activities! The only drawback is that I don't live closer to go more often and be more supportive!

4 Star Rating Nice Resturant, nice ambience and music. It was taco Tuesday when we went and it had regular tacos for $3 each, achicken, carnitas and so on, minimum two of the same tacos per order, but it usually comes in an order of 3 of the same tacos. So if you order chicken it has to be at least an order of 2 chicken tacos, you weren’t allowed to mix and match. I don’t understand the point of this, what if I order a taco and don’t like it, I’ll have another two or one of the same taco that I didn’t like and have to eat, other wise throw it away along with my money. Thankfully I ordered the Birria tacos in an order of 3, at $6 a taco, at that price I should be able to mix and match my order, the other meats amongst that price point were asado and shrimp, which I would have loved to have tried, but wasn’t able to because of the silly rule. If I’m being charged individually for a single taco, why should I be forced to put in an order of 3, minimum 2 of the same tacos. I usually cry when I have to pay $5 for a taco, but I paid $6 and couldn’t mix and match my order on taco Tuesday. Thankfully at first bite the Birria tacos were juicy, flavorful, small, but filled with meat. It also had cheese in it which made it better. I traded my taco for an asada taco with my friend and didn’t really enjoy the asada taco, it was ok at best, it had a cooked on a gas grill flavor. The red sauce was ok, was told it was spicy and it wasn’t, but thankfully the green sauce that wasn’t suppose to be spicy had some kick to it. It also came with a small little shot of the beef brew it’s cooked in where I was able to dip the tacos. It had a nice chile de árbol in there which gave it some kick. The food was great but the policy of minimum 3-2 tacos an order of the same taco is silly if I’m paying for each taco individually. Like for specialty tacos like birria and shrimp, I understand that an order of 3 should come at a fixed price. But this wasn’t the case lol. I feel like I should have paid $15 instead of $18, but they were pretty good and flavorful, not every Resturant gets the Birria taco recipe right, but they make them pretty good here in my opinion.

2 Star Rating Food and alcohol were good. However I and my friend asked for double espresso, and were served (guess what?) Regular coffee (in big cups) which tasted like (surprise surprise) Regular coffee. I asked our server if it was indeed double espresso and he nodded and said "No no, it's double espresso, this is double espresso" And they charged us $8 dollars each, although there was another friend of ours who ordered regular coffee (which looked exactly like our "double espresso") who was charged $4. I know this problem sounds too trivial, but the issue is that nothing similar happened to me in New York, ever. Everyone knows what double espresso looks and tastes like, and it was quite upsetting that we were overcharged and served something we didn't order 😕

Excited to come back & try the other dishes ! Server did her best to make sure she got the orders correct & would let you know if the kitchen could accommodate a certain diet. My friends also coined the jukebox here a "ghost jukebox" since it frequently went off on it's own & would stop playing randomly too. Something to keep in mind if you're trying to hold a conversation during your meal.

5 Star Rating Pee Dee’s Steakhouse: A True East Harlem "Hood Classic" & Hidden Gem If you are looking for the soul of Spanish Harlem (El Barrio), you’ll find it right here at Pee Dee’s Steakhouse. This isn’t just a restaurant; it’s my home and a neighborhood institution that honestly deserves to be a national landmark. In a city where everything changes every five minutes, Pee Dee’s is a rare breed—it’s been holding it down for decades, and the best part is that the food and the recipes have NOT changed. It still hits exactly the same way it did years ago. This is the definition of a hidden gem. When you walk in, you already know what time it is. It’s that old-school vibe where the quality speaks for itself. You have to come hungry because this is the kind of place where you definitely "eat with your eyes." If you’re doing it right and eating for two, expect it to set you back a cool $100 bucks, but every single cent is well-spent for the portions and the flavor you’re getting. Pro-Tip: Do not—I repeat, do NOT—forget to ask for that extra bread 🍞. You are going to need every slice to soak up all that legendary flavor on the plate. It’s the only way to finish the meal properly. Whether you grew up here or you’re just looking for the most authentic steakhouse experience in NYC, Pee Dee’s is the undisputed champ of the heights. Support a local legend that has stayed true to the hood for generations. 5 stars every single time!
