This place was nice and low key. We ordered boneless 10 piece with honey bbq and medium buffalo. We did not wait long our food was hot and tasty! Bomb wing spot especially if you had some drink!

The wings were really good and had a nice kick to it. The owner was really nice and calm. The mozzarella sticks were really nice, cheesy, and crispy. The food was a bit overpriced, and the honey mustard cost extra. I would recommend and I will try it again.

Nice, clean place and great service. Didn’t waiting at all and the wings were delicious and cooked very well. I’d recommend if you’re in the Harlem area and would want some wings without hurting your pockets.

We has the lamb shawarma which was quite tough and dry. The hummus was good. Service was very good too. There's live music playing in the basement so it could get noisy and loud.

Went for lunch. Cute place with nice vibe, had to wait a little to get seats at a very wobbly table. Staff was nice and friendly. Part of the reason we came was because we knew they had a gluten free menu, as one of our family members has celiac. He wanted to order the schnitzel, which was listed as GF on the menu, but we double checked it, and it actually wasn't! So he got the salmon salad. He said the salmon was very dry. I ordered falafels - which were very good, and the shakshuka, which I didn't really care for. It was covered in green olives and feta, and I had to dig to find the eggs. The tomato sauce was overly spicy and I left most of it over. The chicken shawarma was too bland, and the fluffy potato chips were ok. Overall, not sure if we will be back, or maybe only to buy something from the cute shop that is in the front area that sells jewelry bags and scarves. Disappointed

We have come here a few times and love the food and vibe of the place. Food is great! Its so cozy. Great vegan options!!

Love the food but pricey. They do a great job to explain the food and also take some customization. The staff can take a bit of effort to be more friendly or smile:). Ambience is great especially in the evenings. We order and eat in quite often.

everything at Silvana is great, but their hummus with tahini is particular is legitimately the best hummus i’ve ever had in my life!! i order all the time, im eating it right now, and it was so good it prompted me to write this review.
and, if you’re also just one person, it’s a big portion, lasts me a week or so. and it’s so good!!!

Their food was good. I had an HT burger n truffle fries, which was delicious, Latisha had the jerk quesadilla, and Robinson had calamari and fish 🌮. The service was good. She was caring, making sure we were good and had everything we wanted. When the check came, we told her how much to charge, but she winded up charging $2 extra. Our total was $82.20 she charged $84.20, plus we gave her the 20% tip. She deserved it, but let us give it to you. She seemed to be the only waitress on the floor that I had seen, and it could have been a mistake also...all is forgiven. The atmosphere was a laid-back cool vibe. Music R & B was playing, not loud, just right. We had a great time and will go back again.

My travel companion and I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a quick bite and cocktail while we waited for our reservations at Melba’s. Thankfully this was just a stop. Had this been the destination I would’ve been incredibly disappointed the establishment being nearly empty the service was terrible.
Bloody Mary 6.5/10
Heavy in the tomato sauce and light on the alcohol. Additionally, there were no additional love or accoutrements to help this beverage taste anything more than like leftovers.
Jerk Chicken 7.5/10
Peach Fuzz 1/10
Do not recommend. My date sent it back. Rather my date tried to send it back but the service was so terrible. We ended up holding onto it for about 25 minutes before anyone came to our table to provide assistance.
Salmon burger 7.75/10

My friend brought me here for my birthday. My first time here. The food was delicious we tried a new item on the menu that was a healthier version of pizza I believe it was called flatbread pizza. It was delicious (& I am picky). I had a chicken sandwich with fries and chicken tenders. Super good. The drinks were great. We had Casamigos margaritas. Will be returning. Our server, Kam was wonderful.

The food and service were awesome. They could handle a party of thirty or more without needing a deposit. I loved the food, drinks, and servers. Everyone was super nice and helpful. The atmosphere was upbeat but not too crazy, which was great for families and kids. There was even live music, and the performers played Sesame Street for my daughter.

Stopped by Harlem Tavern on a Sunday at the start of March Madness—it was packed, but the vibe was great and full of energy. Our server was clearly busy but remained kind and attentive, which I appreciated. The buffalo wings were just okay—could’ve used more flavor. Unfortunately, the bathrooms were a major downside: they were dirty and had a strong, unpleasant smell. Overall, a fun atmosphere for watching a game, but the cleanliness could definitely be improved.

I was genuinely looking forward to trying this spot, but unfortunately, my experience fell short. Service was quite slow—we waited nearly 25 minutes before a server even approached our table.
We ordered the short ribs with mashed potatoes and mac & cheese, the fried chicken, burger sliders, and collard greens. The food came out surprisingly fast, which made me question the freshness of some items. The sliders were dry and lacked seasoning, and the fried chicken had an unpleasant aftertaste, possibly from being cooked in old oil. That said, the short ribs and sides were decent.
While I might’ve overlooked the service and food quality, I felt compelled to leave a review because I became very sick later that evening. 🤢😵💫 Something clearly did not sit well with my stomach, which was alarming.
Sadly, this was my first and last visit. I hope the restaurant takes this as constructive feedback to reassess some of their food handling and service standards.

Nestled in the heart of Harlem, Melba’s Restaurant is a top destination for authentic Southern comfort food in New York City. On a bustling Saturday evening, the restaurant was filled with energy, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
The meal started with the fried catfish appetizer, which was expertly prepared. The fish was exceptionally tender, encased in a crisp, well-seasoned batter that delivered on both texture and flavor. For the main course, Melba’s signature chicken and waffles showcased a perfect harmony of sweet and savory, with crispy, flavorful fried chicken complementing the soft, syrup-kissed waffle.
Beyond the food, the service was attentive and warm, adding to the overall dining experience. Melba’s is a must-visit for those seeking soulful, expertly crafted Southern cuisine in the city.

Tucked into the heart of Harlem, Melba’s is a true neighborhood treasure that delivers Southern comfort on a plate with warmth, heart, and serious flavor. From the moment you step inside, the welcoming energy and lively atmosphere set the tone for a memorable meal.
The star of the show? The catfish—golden, crispy, and perfectly seasoned, it’s everything you want from a Southern classic. Paired with a side of tender, smoky collard greens and rich, buttery candied yams, the plate strikes a perfect balance between soul food tradition and polished execution.
Service is friendly and attentive, and the crowd is a joyful mix of locals and visitors soaking in the Harlem vibes. Whether you’re here for brunch, dinner, or just a craving for true comfort food, Melba’s delivers every time.
Don’t Miss: the fried catfish platter, yams, and collard greens—Southern staples done right.
Vibe: Cozy, upbeat, and full of Harlem soul.
Verdict: A must-visit for anyone craving authentic Southern cuisine in NYC.

This place was a gem! Great atmosphere, outstanding service, and delicious food. I came craving fried chicken and they delivered. But as good as it was, the sides of Mac and cheese and collard greens really sent it over the top. And a slice of sweet potato pie was the perfect finish. I’ll be back!

I went to Melba’s this past Saturday, and had a great experience. I love the subtle upscale nature of this place, backed up with some great dishes. The menu is small, but what they do, they do well.
I ordered just two dishes; the chicken and eggnog waffles and an order of peas and rice. Both dishes were so good, especially with the addition of the strawberry butter and maple syrup to the chicken and waffles.
I also had a strawberry lemonade drink which was refreshing. Overall, I think this is an excellent place to come for great dishes and a nice atmosphere.

Staff was friendly and very helpful. Drinks were great. Food was absolutely delicious! I had the cornbread & caviar appetizer and the catfish & grits main. So yummy and well-portioned! You cannot go wrong with anything you choose to order! Great playlist; they were playing a mix of Afro-beats and 80s/90s r&b. Will definitely go back!

The Nephew Supper Club’s decor, celebrating 1920’s Harlem Renaissance, jazz music softly playing in the background, and seating arrangements is the perfect back drop for the awesome food and drinks.
The details In everything is evident. The host and hostess were accommodating and our waiter, Sean, was professionally attentive. Dropped fork immediately retrieved and replaced. Orders taken and received as requested.
Recommendations: the half chicken and mash potatoes were extremely tasty. The chicken melted in my mouth . The catfish and grits were aah-maazing. The turnovers were not only wonderfully devoured at the restaurant, they were part of an additional order “to-go” along with the half chicken so that my family could get a taste of the cuisine. The hummus with the chips were another delightful choice.
My table mates could not stop raving about the Oxtails. Perfect place for a date or a meal with friends and family.
I look forward to visiting The NephewSupper Club again and again.

Recently went and patronized this new restaurant. At first glance I was in awe of the decor and transformation of the place to the exact theme the restaurant exudes. I found the innovative way of not only incorporating the theme into the names but also into the presentation of the meals was a good touch. The food was great the service was great and would definitely recommend coming here whether it’s just for a drink or a meal with friends as it has a nice atmosphere and menu to accommodate all occasions.

It was ok being that Thursday they were closing their doors. They had limited juices for drinks. The host was doing everything, seating, making drinks, bringing you your change from the bill. When I didn't see him, I thought he was back there cooking too. My shrimp and grits were very loose. Candy didn't enjoy her Pumkin French Toast, Diane enjoyed her grits with a side of catfish bites. Wendy's enjoyed her chicken and pancakes. The total of the bill was high to me.

The grand opening in April 2025 presented us with Executive Chef Donavan's creole experience. The food on the new menu is flavorful, colorful, and delicious. I recently visited this incredible jazz club that exceeded all expectations. The atmosphere was electric, and the food was exceptional. We enjoyed the Drizzy G cocktail, shared salmon/crab cakes, turkey sliders with truffle fries, and the standout dish, the yucca fries with an irresistible sauce—an absolute must have. The night was made unforgettable by the soulful performance of Kirk Bailey and his band, who created a magical experience. I'll definitely return, and if you're looking for a thrilling jazz club, this is the place to be!

This was an amazing brunch spot. The staff was attentive and friendly towards my group. The drinks were tasty and strong, and the in-house DJ was amazing, bringing in the vibes. As for the food....impeccable. I got the Slow Braised Beef short ribs, and it was cooked to perfection. The portion was enough, and the flavor was well worth the price. Chocolate was an OK place to have a bite to eat. I made reservations so I did have a seat when I got there. The place is very popular with people of all ages. The music was just right, not loud where you can't talk to each other. The food was good and tasty but it was just average. The service needs to be more organized and attentive though they were very pleasant. If I'm in Harlem again I would visit. Nice place with a nice vibe, and good food.

We went on a Sunday morning around noon. Wasn't too crowded at all. We opted for the mimosas which were bottomless around $25. They have 4 flavors. We got the honey biscuits and shrimp for starters which were definitely really good. That was the best part of the meal honestly. Pancakes were ok. Service was decent. Benedict looked good and I know the grits were good as well. Portions are definitely a good size. Took a while for us to get the check. However a big party did come in. 18% is added automatically for parties with 2 or more.
I would definitely comeback.

A beautiful upscale soul food place in Harlem. I got the fried chicken with collard greens and the lobster mac & cheese. It was all so delicious! The chicken came with a dipping hot sauce that was out of this world. I also got the chocolate martini my girlfriend got the pear martini, and they were both excellent. All the staff were friendly and fast. The atmosphere was wonderful. Definitely recommend going here even if you’re not close to the area.

A Memorable Harlem Gem That Keeps Me Coming Back
Years ago, I came across this spot on a recommendation—and it left such a lasting impression that I knew I had to return. This recent visit confirmed exactly why it earned a place on my personal list of must-try restaurants.
Nestled in Harlem, this restaurant is part of a neighborhood that has seen tremendous change over the past 30 years. While gentrification brings complex emotions, one positive is the emergence of exceptional dining experiences like this. It’s a beautiful reflection of Harlem’s evolving food scene—where history, creativity, and hospitality meet.
We visited for brunch and went with the bottomless Sangria and Mimosas. The Sangria surprised me—it was much lighter than expected, with a crisp, refreshing taste. At first, I thought it might be the white version, and the staff didn’t hesitate to bring over both so I could compare. That thoughtful touch set the tone for the entire meal. The service was friendly, prompt, and attentive without ever feeling rushed.
The white polenta was everything I hoped for—smooth, creamy, and full of flavor. It brought back all the good memories from my first visit. The braised short rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender and incredibly flavorful. These are the kinds of dishes that show real care and technique in the kitchen.
The atmosphere is just as inviting as the food. There’s a vibrant energy in the space—stylish yet relaxed, making it perfect for everything from a leisurely brunch with friends to a date night or special celebration.
Whether you’re a local or visiting New York City and want to explore Harlem beyond the typical tourist stops, I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s a true gem—where the food is memorable, the drinks are generous, and the service makes you feel like a valued guest. I’ll absolutely be returning again.

Lido in Harlem is a true gem! The atmosphere is wonderfully inviting, and the food is simply outstanding. I have to give a special shoutout to the blueberry pancakes – they were absolutely divine! Perfectly fluffy and bursting with flavor, they were the highlight of my meal.
Beyond the incredible food, the service was impeccable, thanks to my server, Alex. They were incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. Alex made excellent recommendations, ensuring I had a perfect meal, and their timing was impeccable. It's clear they are passionate about providing top-notch service. Alex's professionalism and warm personality made my brunch at Lido truly memorable. I highly recommend Lido to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience in Harlem, and if you go, be sure to ask for Alex! And definitely order the blueberry pancakes!

Update: This location struggles to make cold foam. Every single time I get a cold foam drink, it is just a few bubbles on top. The consistency and amount is so sad and doesn’t even look appetizing.
The Starbucks by my work (not this one) makes amazing cold foam - thick, creamy, long lasting - it is such a bummer when my drinks dont come out right at home.
On a positive note, they remade my drink for me when it fell from my hand as I was leaving one time. Thank you!

Consistency is paramount for me, and my initial visit to this Senegalese restaurant "Les Ambassades" in 2021 during a business meeting left an indelible mark with its unforgettable fried rice, setting an unparalleled standard. Revisiting in 2023, 1 found that the restaurant's commitment to excellence remained unshaken, and their lamb dish proved that great things truly come in small spaces. My friends from Florida, sharing this delightful experience, were equally impressed. I eagerly anticipate my next visit at this remarkable restaurant.

The food is delicious, generous portions, very affordable. They need to upgrade their furniture and upkeep their bathroom. Also the service is just ok. Sometimes is a hit or miss. The seats are literally torn up and broken. They have corner seats where the stuffing is coming out and all torn. The tables are very old and scratched and damaged. This is very shocking. So we started going there on a regular but now, we’d rather just take out. And then we’ve been wondering how clean the kitchen is if the restaurant is so poorly maintained and the bathroom in such a state. I couldn’t leave less than 5 starts because the food is so good but if the manager or any staff read this, please do something about the upkeep of your restaurant. The food is so so good but the restaurant is not in any form acceptable. The server is doing the work of too many and it doesn’t look hygienic at all. Flip flops and dirty clothes, and dirty hands touching everything from the phone, the plates, the garbage, the cash register and picking her nose…we left this one good review but won’t be coming back until there’s a major change. We’ll keep walking by and going to the neighboring restaurants until we see a change. The bakery attached to it is also delicious.

Update: I like that they renovated the place. It is brighter and more spacious, but during the winter months, it gets very cold inside as people open the door to come in. I had to keep my coat on. Foodwise, the grilled dibi lamb has remained the best dish on the menu. I do not like that the servers are not consistent with serving the bread and mayonnaise. Service is minimal and quite slow.
Review from 3 years ago (4 star rating): this is one of my favorite West African (Senegalese) restaurants in NYC. I love anything "grilled" on the menu. On my last visit, the nems were tasty and the shell perfectly crisp. The pastries are sinfully delicious. However, the shawarma was not good. The pita was too soft. Also, the burger beef patty was dry and tasteless. Just stick with the grilled dishes on the menu. I like the restaurant's ambiance. The owner and servers are very welcoming.
