This place was nice and low key. We ordered boneless 10 piece with honey bbq and medium buffalo. We did not wait long our food was hot and tasty! Bomb wing spot especially if you had some drink!

We has the lamb shawarma which was quite tough and dry. The hummus was good. Service was very good too. There's live music playing in the basement so it could get noisy and loud.

Silvana's atmosphere is quite cozy and makes you feel at home. The seating in the cafe was communal so you may sit with other patrons depending on how busy it is. The service was generally good but it felt that they forgot about my date and I at times. I was curious to try their shakshuka and it was spot on with the spices and heat level. The dish came in a small cast iron pan which I really liked but it would've been good to see the eggs on top, sunnyside up. Unfortunately, some of the egg sank below the tomato sauce and got burnt.

I placed an order for pick up around 10:00pm in need of food from my commute from the Bronx.
I was upset because most places seemed closed— most healthy places at least.
They answered my call and were very sweet when I placed my order.
When I arrived I was greeted by the lovely woman at the counter and what seemed like neighborhood friends.
This spot was lovely to explore as it felt cozy and warm with so much more than just food to offer.
I got the Salmon Salad and let me tell you !!! It did not disappoint. I thought I was just getting a regular salad but it was absolutely divine. I am very grateful.

Went for lunch. Cute place with nice vibe, had to wait a little to get seats at a very wobbly table. Staff was nice and friendly. Part of the reason we came was because we knew they had a gluten free menu, as one of our family members has celiac. He wanted to order the schnitzel, which was listed as GF on the menu, but we double checked it, and it actually wasn't! So he got the salmon salad. He said the salmon was very dry. I ordered falafels - which were very good, and the shakshuka, which I didn't really care for. It was covered in green olives and feta, and I had to dig to find the eggs. The tomato sauce was overly spicy and I left most of it over. The chicken shawarma was too bland, and the fluffy potato chips were ok. Overall, not sure if we will be back, or maybe only to buy something from the cute shop that is in the front area that sells jewelry bags and scarves. Disappointed

Their food was good. I had an HT burger n truffle fries, which was delicious, Latisha had the jerk quesadilla, and Robinson had calamari and fish 🌮. The service was good. She was caring, making sure we were good and had everything we wanted. When the check came, we told her how much to charge, but she winded up charging $2 extra. Our total was $82.20 she charged $84.20, plus we gave her the 20% tip. She deserved it, but let us give it to you. She seemed to be the only waitress on the floor that I had seen, and it could have been a mistake also...all is forgiven. The atmosphere was a laid-back cool vibe. Music R & B was playing, not loud, just right. We had a great time and will go back again.

My travel companion and I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a quick bite and cocktail while we waited for our reservations at Melba’s. Thankfully this was just a stop. Had this been the destination I would’ve been incredibly disappointed the establishment being nearly empty the service was terrible.
Bloody Mary 6.5/10
Heavy in the tomato sauce and light on the alcohol. Additionally, there were no additional love or accoutrements to help this beverage taste anything more than like leftovers.
Jerk Chicken 7.5/10
Peach Fuzz 1/10
Do not recommend. My date sent it back. Rather my date tried to send it back but the service was so terrible. We ended up holding onto it for about 25 minutes before anyone came to our table to provide assistance.
Salmon burger 7.75/10

First off, the food portions are HUGE. Each entree comes with two sides. I got the country catfish (I'd rate it 7.5/10) and my sides were mac and cheese and collard greens. The country catfish was pretty good but a bit salty. The sides were also delicious but the collard greens were pretty salty. The smothered chicken (dark meat, I'd rate it 6.5/10) was also good. The meat wasn't dry and there was a lot of gravy. The garlic mashed potatoes were very flavorful but quite salty. I lived in Atlanta for a few years and most of the comfort food down there was pretty salty too. We got the a$ap sugared yams which was probably my favorite. They were so sweet and very moist.
This is such a fun and lively place to eat at. It does get a little loud at times but not so loud that I couldn't converse. The service was also great even though it was pretty packed inside.

For our trip to see Gypsy, I started thinking about what else we could do while in the city. Attractions, food spots, something memorable. Only there for 24 hours, our options were limited. Then I remembered Melba’s. When I mentioned it to my mom, she was immediately on board - especially once she recalled that Sherri Shepherd has raved about Melba’s more than once on her talk show. Just like that, one stop was locked in for this whirlwind trip.
Thank goodness I made a reservation for Saturday lunch. Traffic wasn’t too bad, and parking wasn’t difficult either. Even better, we didn’t have to walk far, which made both me and my mom extra happy.
From the outside, Melba’s looks like a regular smegular spot. But the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with community and culture - it’s a vibe. The staff were warm and welcoming, and even the other diners felt like family.
For our meal, I ordered the Chilean sea bass with mac and A$AP yams. So good. Honestly, I was eating with my eyes before it even touched my lips because the plating was beautiful. My mom went with the fried catfish, collards, and A$AP yams. She loves catfish, and this plate didn’t disappoint - she was more than satisfied with both the portion size and the flavor.
The food was generous, and we couldn’t finish it all, so takeaway trays were a must. No complaints though - it definitely didn’t go to waste.

Went here with my parents, we’re all born and raised in the South (Georgia). That being said, this meal felt like a southern inspired dining experience perhaps rather than a dip into soul food. Nothing was bad! Don’t get me wrong; but many of the dishes left more to be desired. First off, love the mac n cheese, they ate with that. Second, the sweet potato pie was pretty spot on. The crab cakes were confusing. They were a little bland. The fried chicken wings were also okay. The fries were unfortunately below average but I’m guessing most people don’t come for those. My catfish was solid overall and the collard greens were cooked and seasoned nicely. If you’re a new Yorker looking to dip your toes in southern cuisine, Id definitely recommend this spot, however, theres a lil southern spark missing. But ultimately it does give american comfort. Im American and I did feel comforted by this meal ☺️

Nestled in the heart of Harlem, Melba’s Restaurant is a top destination for authentic Southern comfort food in New York City. On a bustling Saturday evening, the restaurant was filled with energy, creating a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
The meal started with the fried catfish appetizer, which was expertly prepared. The fish was exceptionally tender, encased in a crisp, well-seasoned batter that delivered on both texture and flavor. For the main course, Melba’s signature chicken and waffles showcased a perfect harmony of sweet and savory, with crispy, flavorful fried chicken complementing the soft, syrup-kissed waffle.
Beyond the food, the service was attentive and warm, adding to the overall dining experience. Melba’s is a must-visit for those seeking soulful, expertly crafted Southern cuisine in the city.

I was genuinely looking forward to trying this spot, but unfortunately, my experience fell short. Service was quite slow—we waited nearly 25 minutes before a server even approached our table.
We ordered the short ribs with mashed potatoes and mac & cheese, the fried chicken, burger sliders, and collard greens. The food came out surprisingly fast, which made me question the freshness of some items. The sliders were dry and lacked seasoning, and the fried chicken had an unpleasant aftertaste, possibly from being cooked in old oil. That said, the short ribs and sides were decent.
While I might’ve overlooked the service and food quality, I felt compelled to leave a review because I became very sick later that evening. 🤢😵💫 Something clearly did not sit well with my stomach, which was alarming.
Sadly, this was my first and last visit. I hope the restaurant takes this as constructive feedback to reassess some of their food handling and service standards.

If you’re searching for the best brunch in Harlem this is it. The Nephew Supper Club is serving up elevated Southern cuisine fresh oysters and a must try mimosa flight that’ll upgrade your entire weekend.
Start light with chargrilled oysters they were smoky & cheesy, truly unforgettable but follow it up with fresh oysters on the half shell.
But a MUST TRY the cornbread and caviar with a touch of blueberry jam. A mix of sweet & salty goodness.
For mains we had the fried red snapper crispy and flavorful — and buttery salmon seared to perfection.
The baked mac and cheese was creamy, golden and made with soul while the egusi hummus brings a rich West African twist.
Definitely give Nephew Supper Club a try especially for brunch ✨ Tell them Butter on a Roll sent you 💛🧈

You cannot go wrong with anything you choose to order! Great playlist; they were playing a mix of Afro-beats and 80s/90s r&b. Will definitely go back!

Minton's Playhouse in Harlem is a vibrant spot where jazz history comes alive. The live performance was phenomenal, with talented musicians and an electric atmosphere that swept us up in the groove. The food was equally impressive, with a variety of delicious, well-prepared options at affordable prices. A special thanks to our waiter, Chandler, for his attentive and friendly service. Minton’s offers a perfect blend of great food, live jazz, and a welcoming vibe definitely a must-visit!

I recently visited this incredible jazz club that exceeded all expectations. The atmosphere was electric, and the food was exceptional. We enjoyed the Drizzy G cocktail, shared salmon/crab cakes, turkey sliders with truffle fries, and the standout dish, the yucca fries with an irresistible sauce—an absolute must have. The night was made unforgettable by the soulful performance of Kirk Bailey and his band, who created a magical experience. I'll definitely return, and if you're looking for a thrilling jazz club, this is the place to be!

We had such a great time yesterday taking my dad and the family out! Big thanks to my bestie Ian for the amazing recommendation—he never misses. My dad, Bishop Darren Ferguson, was truly happy, and that made the day even more special. The food was delicious, and the service was top-tier. We arrived an hour early, but the hostess was phenomenal and accommodated us with no problem. Our waitress was attentive, and all the staff made sure we were taken care of from start to finish. A beautiful experience all around!

Food was delicious! The waitress was nice. Only place I’d ding a point is the cost of the food. I was with one other person and we just had the chicken and waffles and each had a sparkling water and the bill was $85 😬 18% gratuity was automatically added but the menu noted it was applied to 3 people plus.

Great as always the biscuits changed a little bit and as far as flavor, it seem like it’s more of a honey than a butter taste and my ribs needed a little bit more salt in it, but the shrimps were perfect so was the shrimp and grits and the fried chicken that my wife had. I had a few drinks and they were pretty good too. I haven’t been there for a while due to my schedule, but they’re always our professional and the staff always welcomes you and you feel as if it’s not forced. Even though I had a little issue with two of the items, everything isn’t gonna be the same way every encounter but instead of a 10 out of 10, it was a nine out of 10, and it’s just me nitpicking. I had more pictures to show, but for whatever reason I’m unable to upload. My apologies

Chocolate was an OK place to have a bite to eat. I made reservations so I did have a seat when I got there. The place is very popular with people of all ages. The music was just right, not loud where you can't talk to each other. The food was good and tasty but it was just average. The service needs to be more organized and attentive though they were very pleasant. If I'm in Harlem again I would visit. Nice place with a nice vibe, and good food.

A Memorable Harlem Gem That Keeps Me Coming Back
Years ago, I came across this spot on a recommendation—and it left such a lasting impression that I knew I had to return. This recent visit confirmed exactly why it earned a place on my personal list of must-try restaurants.
Nestled in Harlem, this restaurant is part of a neighborhood that has seen tremendous change over the past 30 years. While gentrification brings complex emotions, one positive is the emergence of exceptional dining experiences like this. It’s a beautiful reflection of Harlem’s evolving food scene—where history, creativity, and hospitality meet.
We visited for brunch and went with the bottomless Sangria and Mimosas. The Sangria surprised me—it was much lighter than expected, with a crisp, refreshing taste. At first, I thought it might be the white version, and the staff didn’t hesitate to bring over both so I could compare. That thoughtful touch set the tone for the entire meal. The service was friendly, prompt, and attentive without ever feeling rushed.
The white polenta was everything I hoped for—smooth, creamy, and full of flavor. It brought back all the good memories from my first visit. The braised short rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender and incredibly flavorful. These are the kinds of dishes that show real care and technique in the kitchen.
The atmosphere is just as inviting as the food. There’s a vibrant energy in the space—stylish yet relaxed, making it perfect for everything from a leisurely brunch with friends to a date night or special celebration.
Whether you’re a local or visiting New York City and want to explore Harlem beyond the typical tourist stops, I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s a true gem—where the food is memorable, the drinks are generous, and the service makes you feel like a valued guest. I’ll absolutely be returning again.

We had a birthday brunch here. The food and the service was great. Loved the decor as well. Around the middle of the lunch the place was almost full house. The air conditions were working nonstop but it was clearly not enough. It wasn't even a hot hot day. We were ok cause we were enjoying the meal and the conversation, but if you want a cool restaurant, be aware. I think it's worth it.

Overall 10/10 and will definitely be back to try the dinner menu!

Lido in Harlem is a true gem! The atmosphere is wonderfully inviting, and the food is simply outstanding. I have to give a special shoutout to the blueberry pancakes – they were absolutely divine! Perfectly fluffy and bursting with flavor, they were the highlight of my meal.
Beyond the incredible food, the service was impeccable, thanks to my server, Alex. They were incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. Alex made excellent recommendations, ensuring I had a perfect meal, and their timing was impeccable. It's clear they are passionate about providing top-notch service. Alex's professionalism and warm personality made my brunch at Lido truly memorable. I highly recommend Lido to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience in Harlem, and if you go, be sure to ask for Alex! And definitely order the blueberry pancakes!

I usually stop by here every now and then. The service is usually nice, however, this morning was not.
After I got my order, July 31 at 9:31 am, I went back and asked for a small cup of water, the guy making drinks seemed bothered/annoyed and asked me what name it was under. I said it wasn't an order I just want a cup of water. He gave me a hard time for a simple cup of water. DON'T WORK THERE IF YOU DONT WANT TO! SIMPLY QUIT! NO ONE IS FORCING YOU, SWEETHEART!

I’ve been coming here since 2013 because they have great food. Unfortunately, the pastries and the food have not been as good. The decline started when they separated the pastry shop from the restaurant area. They increased the price of everything. The pastries taste old. This eclair is soggy but expensive. The chicken is dry. There are less tables, and the tables are sticky. It’s very sad. I remember this place used to always be full of people indoors and outdoors. Their breakfast egg sandwich was unmatched. No longer the case.

Consistency is paramount for me, and my initial visit to this Senegalese restaurant "Les Ambassades" in 2021 during a business meeting left an indelible mark with its unforgettable fried rice, setting an unparalleled standard. Revisiting in 2023, 1 found that the restaurant's commitment to excellence remained unshaken, and their lamb dish proved that great things truly come in small spaces. My friends from Florida, sharing this delightful experience, were equally impressed. I eagerly anticipate my next visit at this remarkable restaurant.

The food is delicious, generous portions, very affordable. They need to upgrade their furniture and upkeep their bathroom. Also the service is just ok. Sometimes is a hit or miss. The seats are literally torn up and broken. They have corner seats where the stuffing is coming out and all torn. The tables are very old and scratched and damaged. This is very shocking. So we started going there on a regular but now, we’d rather just take out. And then we’ve been wondering how clean the kitchen is if the restaurant is so poorly maintained and the bathroom in such a state. I couldn’t leave less than 5 starts because the food is so good but if the manager or any staff read this, please do something about the upkeep of your restaurant. The food is so so good but the restaurant is not in any form acceptable. The server is doing the work of too many and it doesn’t look hygienic at all. Flip flops and dirty clothes, and dirty hands touching everything from the phone, the plates, the garbage, the cash register and picking her nose…we left this one good review but won’t be coming back until there’s a major change. We’ll keep walking by and going to the neighboring restaurants until we see a change. The bakery attached to it is also delicious.
