3 Star Rating Onion rings were a zero. Not a good sign when they are all identical to each other. Chicken wings good. Waffle fries didn’t deliver so well but are high quality.

5 Star Rating So I've been to this place 3 times and each and every time I have gotten nothing with the best from the wings. They are very friendly and are willing to double fry the wings depending on how you like them. There's quite a selection of sauces that you can have your wings in. Although it is a little bit pricey, it's definitely well worth it.

5 Star Rating One of my favourite spots in Harlem. The food and vibe is on point, with the music downstairs as an added, brilliant, bonus. An easy routine is dinner upstairs followed by a few drinks with live music downstairs. Can’t go wrong.

4 Star Rating The food is excellent, however, the service is quite slow and efficient, hence the reason for four stars. I think the best item here is their falafel plate, which comes with four big falafel Pattie’s on a bed of tahini and several small salads and hummus, along with a choice of 2 sides. For $14, this is a great value for an absolutely delicious snack. We always get the fluffy potato chips which are really flavorful along with their fattoush salad. Another great item is the babaganoush. This roasted, eggplant dip is incredibly smoky, and the smoked paprika on top gives it great flavor. The pita they serve with it is extremely soft and fresh as well. We have tried other dishes in the past, like their cauliflower appetizer, but it just misses the mark. Honestly, just come here if you want the two aforementioned dishes.

2 Star Rating Maybe their night life is better than their day time lunch hours. I called ahead to see if they serve turkey burgers and was happy to hear that they do! I walked in around 2PM and the energy and hospitality was lack luster, as I was told to seat myself wherever. Initially I went to the bar where I was told happy hour does not begin until 4PM and only drinks will be served. So, I find a quiet spot in the corner between the threshold of the bar and dining room. The water glasses are already facing right side up on the table, and visibly dirty. I just asked for a clean glass, no problem. I’ll take partial responsibility for the fact that I was served a turkey burger with pork bacon on it. I ordered blindly without reading the menu, but I feel as though I should’ve been informed by my knowledgeable waitress. Regardless, I sent it back knowing they were just going to remove the bacon from my burger and reassemble it accordingly. To my dismay, my burger comes back with a hair on the plate. Mind you, it’s only 2PM. I’m sure it wasn’t intentional but at this point the cleanliness of this establishment is a cause for concern. In the end my meal was compensated, and I was no longer planning to leave this review due to their effort to rectify the situation. However, the opportunity presented itself when I was notified to leave a review😅

5 Star Rating The waitress was very nice. The Greens was my absolute favorite. I can talk about this all day, not bitter, not soggy they were totally phenomenal. The oxtails were tender. The Yams were not too sweet, just right. The salmon was great, and the mac and cheese were cheese. The fries were good also. The fried chicken was .... the outside on point, the meat was not seasoned.

4 Star Rating This restaurant is a rare exception on the NYC Michelin guide being Southern food restaurant. I will start off by saying the service the entire evening was comically off. The waitstaff didn’t seem to have any understanding of the steps of service, but not in a rude way. Water was rarely refilled and our server rarely came to the table. I waited over ten minutes for extra lemons. Again, I don’t think the waitstaff are rude or unprofessional just maybe untrained or not held to a certain standard. With those comments aside, the food is truly exceptional and near perfect. The spring rolls are crisp and bursting with flavor. The cheddar cheese in the roll melts perfectly onto the vegetables. My salmon with a side of Mac and Cheese and rice was just out of this world! The salmon had a delicious honey glaze and the Mac and cheese was very cheesy. The rice was crunchy and the lemon provided complimented the peas. This was seriously some of the best food I’ve ever had in New York. A Manhattan restaurant is usually a tale of exceptional service and just OK food, but I’d say Melba’s is quite the opposite. Maybe it’s a part of the experience. I most definitely will be back, but maybe just for a to-go order this time.

Our table attendant Brian was hands down the best provider of service. He needs a raise because his level of service was impeccable. I wish we could have stayed longer. I will never come to New York and not eat here. A Harlem jewel Ms. Melba was also available in the restaurant which was impressive to see. Such was warm spirit

3 Star Rating Was in town for the weekend and went on a friend date. We made dinner reservations and showed up early but clearly that didn’t matter because we still waited AN HOUR to be seated! However, the server, appetizer and meal came in 10 minute intervals. Food was overall good and good portion size. The salmon was plain, didn’t taste honey or ginger. The catfish strips were okay. Everything else I really enjoyed.

2 Star Rating First off the food is PHENOMENAL. Absolutely top tier, everything was very pleasing to that palate and did not miss. I had the pumpkin French toast, shrimp and grits and red sangria. Major kudos to the chef. On the flip side, the service is ridiculously awful. I’m not one of those customers that want a server at my every beck and call, especially on a Sunday but the standard is an expectation. Do things in a timely manner and if it can’t be done, communicate that. I have no problem waiting with updates. We were there for 2.5 hours and 1.5 hours of that time was waiting without any update nor checking in. We had to remind him about our drinks and food and when we did, it immediately came out which means the kitchen/bar had it ready, he just wasn’t being attentive. Then to have the audacity to have automatic 20% gratuity when he was barely deserving of 5%. I can say I observed other servers holding the standard so I think it was this particular server that could use some coaching and improvement. All in all, the food was so amazing I would definitely return and definitely get a different server.

2 Star Rating I am not reviewing the food because we left the restaurant before ordering our meal. I live in the neighborhood. I have visited just about every restaurant in a 1 mile radius. Deviating from my regular spots was the choice of my guest, not mine. Sunday was almost brunch in Harlem. However, the lukewarm service made me and my guests rethink our choice in restaurant venue. It was oddly peculiar that our coffee was served in to-go cups. It almost felt like an invitation for us to go. So we did just that. The location has such a great opportunity for locals to love. But, the warmth was not present, nor did the decor make me feel like I was in someone else's home. The space feels aesthetically unfinished. I did appreciate the contemporary gospel soundtrack.

4 Star Rating A nice way to enjoy jazz that doesn’t break the bank. The musicians were wonderful and the servers/bartenders were attentive. We ordered drinks - off menu - and they were good. The food was decent - typical to what you’d expect from a jazz bar. Tickets were affordable and once they turned the lights down, the ambience was nice. There are some things that seem to be a work in progress (the sound guy and the singers didn’t seem to be on the same page and the lighting at the bar could use some work). But once the show got going, it was a really enjoyable time. We’ll definitely be returning as it’s a neighborhood establishment worth the patronage. Good for dates and groups.

Restaurants normally serve two waffles to an order, not here!!! The leg quarter was cut into four pieces how is that possible especially when you’re charging $34.00. 5 Star Rating I had a great experience as a first-timer at the pantry today; the lines weren't very long due to the weather but I also got there at the top of the food distribution timeframe for today which began at 12:30pm. I had an appointment that I'd set through Plentiful but I waited in line anyway and was "in and out" in less than 15 minutes. The staff members were very kind and helpful to me as a first-timer and I am grateful for this service. :) I have a two-person household, and they assisted me with much-needed fresh(!) fruit (strawberries, blueberries, and lemons - strawberry lemonade, anyone?!), veggies (asparagus and tomatoes), milk, juice, and non-perishables, as well as a pack of chicken that will last a few days. This will supplement my regular shop as it is about $35-40 worth of food - at least in my neighborhood.
