The service is fine, some people just don't know how to handle bluntness. The food is good but not great, but mainly due to the oil. I know it's a critical part of this cuisine but like with Indian food, I expected a move away from heavy oil to allow the spices to enhance the flavor. That being said yes the jollof rice is good (I don't know about the best). The meats are tender there is no doubt. Just be aware you'll need a carbonated drink to unstick the oil while you eat.

This is as fresh as food as it comes and portuons are gigantic! One plate for two people unless you’re a giant who works construction:) I had the Jollof rice with chicken and side of beans. The stew and the chicken were impeccable and the rice is perfectly done and flavored. Nice to finally try some delicious Ghanian food.

I knew the food was going to be delicious the moment I walked through the doors of Accra Express Restaurant. My sons and I were warmly greeted by the staff, and Ayesha kindly let us sample some of the soups and jollof rice. From the very first bite, I knew I was about to enjoy one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The flavors were incredible, and my taste buds were craving more with every bite. I couldn’t wait to get home and enjoy the feast we ordered. Thank you to Ayesha, Ahmed, and the entire staff at Accra Express Restaurant for your outstanding hospitality and amazing food. We will definitely be back!

Great food and ambiance. I’ve been eying this place for a while, and I’m so glad to finally try it. We got the fufu & peanut stew, and Jollof rice and fish. We also tried a side of the turkey tails. Everything was flavorful and a good level of spicy as well. 10/10 will be back!

I have been ordering the stir fry chicken for the past two weeks. The first time it was amazing that my mom asked me to order it the next day and it was good but a tad bit spicy. I ordered today and it’s like the chef dozed off with the pepper in his hand while cooking. Omg it was SPICY! My mom can take heat but today it was too much for her. I’m so disappointed she is unable to eat her food. Sigh Overall, their food is delicious. I just wish there was more consistency with food taste.

Been coming here for years when I need a vegan soul food fix and the food is always consistent. Today the barbecue drumsticks and jerk chicken were on point! The Mac, Greens, and Mashed potatoes needed a little salt but I prefer it that way, as it lets me season it the way I like. Also had the sweet potato pie. Nice Sunday lunch!!

Wow - I have never had vegan soul food and this was so incredible. I got a bowl loaded up with everything the person behind the counter recommended (who was very kind!) and it was amazing. It does get crowded in there but so worth it. They weight food by the pound, so for my bowl + a bottle of water it was $19.

Probably the best value for money we found in our entire NYC trip. A huge selection of dishes to choose from, and brilliant soul food from a fully plant-based establishment. We went for two plates, getting: -Rice and Peas -Collard Greens -Mac and Cheese on both with jerk “chicken” on one and “chicken” curry on the other. You pay by weight for the plates, so you have full freedom to choose whatever you want from an extensive soul food menu. Occasionally, I've found that mac and cheese can be a bit dry in similar establishments, but I absolutely could not fault it here. Everything was delicious. For the price, we didn't see a better ratio of cost to volume and flavour for the rest of our trip. Staff were warm and friendly to boot! A must-visit for vegans in NYC.

This place is a classic diner. So help me understand… Why was the turkey (lunch meat) in my Club sandwich GRILLED ON THE FLAT TOP? A Turkey club/triple decker sandwich is a diner classic, I’ve NEVER had it come out with the sliced turkey grilled before. It took the perfect cold sandwich and ruined it. It was dry and super salty. So disappointed!

What a fabulous fine. Chicken jerky is spicy enough that they kindly add chicken stew to mellow a bit “just in case”. The rice and beans are scrumptious for she adds just a smidgen of coconut milk. And the service is charming. I heard about this place on San Francisco and made a pilgrimage here and glad I did

Maaaaan let me tell ya. I used to visit this place weekly when I worked in high bridge. Then one day it had closed up idk for how long but I started working in stamford and haven't had chance to come up in years. We'll September 2nd I just happened to be in area and looking for a roti when I found out they were open again. Bought 2 curry chicken roti and pineapple corn bread and a hibiscus ice tea....what you waiting for? Go in and get yourself some! The chef must of been barefoot cause she put her foot in this. I can't wait to go back up.

The food, ambiance, customer service, and owner were all amazing! I had one of the best chicken rotis I've ever eaten, and they served cornbread with pineapple, something I'd never had before. It was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back!

Held a surprise dinner gathering for my boyfriend's graduation here and 5 stars across the board!! Very easy process from reserving tables and working with the owner to create a menu that worked for my group! (We reserved 2 weeks prior and created the catering order at least a week ahead of time). The food was Delicious! Compliments to the chef, very flavorful, a good amount of food! House-made Sorrel and Hibiscus Lemonade, our group could not get enough! The gentleman who waited on us was so very attentive, accommodating, and kind (forgot his name but an extremly tall fellow with locs) really took care of us that day! All in all, I will be coming back here, and if you want a great experience and delicious food, you should too!!

Excellent chicken wings, fried rice, and hot and sour soup! Everything was packed with flavor and perfectly seasoned. The chicken wings were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and had just the right amount of seasoning. The fried rice was fresh, savory, and not greasy at all—every bite had great texture. The hot and sour soup was rich, balanced, and comforting with a nice kick. Overall, a delicious meal with consistently great taste. Definitely a spot I’d come back to!

Ok let me just say, winter storm Jan 25th 2026 just hit Monday everyone is closed, my pizza shop, my pasta spot even my Chinese spot all on the other side of 3rd Ave bridge. I was starving so I googled and found these guys called them and was able to pickup my food in 5 minutes. Chicken wings in garlic sauce and pork fried rice. Just amazingly delicious. This is my new spot. Very friendly staff also.

I was a bit nervous to try this place due to some of the reviews but I’m glad I came! This has been the best takeout Chinese spot since moving to NYC. They give plenty of portions and the price is amazing (which is how it should be). I spent $25 and split it into 3 meals! I ordered General Tso w/ white rice, Crab Rangoons, Beef Lo Mein, an Eggroll, and it came with a complimentary drink. I will definitely be back.

By far the best Jamaican food around 125th. The oxtail and the rice and peas was phenomenal. I would honestly describe it as very rich in flavor and Reminds me of my grandmother’s cooking. What makes it even better is the servings are a lot so I could definitely feed more than one person with the large. I highly recommend this spot for authentic Jamaican cuisine!!!!!

One of the best beef patties Ive ever had. The dough was fresh and flavorful and the filling had the perfect amount of seasonings. The coco bread was delicious as well. I’ll be back to try more dishes

The food is pretty good, great patties and coco bread, however I ordered a jerk chicken dinner and only got half the items it came with. When I got home there were no steamed veggies or plantain. You should still go here, just check your food before you go.

Really good quality pizza, three different red sauces used depending on the pizza - this place is legit! We tried the NY plain, margherita and the grandma and all very tasty in their own way. My new go- to when I don’t want to go all the way to patsys.

Surprisingly a very clean location with friendly staff that make accurate, tasty orders. We had to come here as soon as the Mexican Pizza made a return. It was as good as I remember it being! Cheesy, crunchy, and savory. Mobile ordering is fast and easy as well.
