I went fully expecting to order their special Thanksgiving dinner menu but when offered the full menu I decided to forego tradition this year. The mozzarella di bufala and tomato salad made a perfect start, and the bacon-wrapped filet did not disappoint. The 20oz burger and prime rib were equally enjoyed by others at the table.

If you are looking for a classic historic steakhouse, this is it. Funfact: this place started the doggybag aka take home bags.
Every steakhouse i go to i always order a French onion soup. I love how there was on a pureed level and it was perfect! The steakhouse on the other hand, if I had room I my belly for one more i would of ate another one. Juicy, a nice wood smoke taste and perfect seasoned! Oh forgot to mention, hashbrowns with the fried egg on top, a must if your craving a steak and eggs kinda vibe.

Ordered a jumbo crab cake, $95 special porterhouse with 2 sides and their 16oz sirloin steak
Crab cake was decent size but would not call it jumbo. With that being said, the taste was fantastic. It was fresh and seasoned well. Great taste.
However the steaks were a different story. The porterhouse was slightly overcooked (asked for medium and we got medium plus) but worst of all it had no seasoning. We initially asked for table salt and then again for kosher salt and had to salt each bite. I genuinely believe the chef did not put any seasoning.
The meat quality was acceptable but compared to great steakhouses like Keens and Wolfgang, it was mediocre, but to be fair few dollars cheaper.
Overall, I would not go back.

Appetizers was good - rock shrimp was amazing
Kobe burger - didn't really taste any different from a regular burger off the grill at home. A bit disappointed on it.
Gotham rib steak- was amazing, perfectly cooked (med )

The food isn't expensive since and it's also not cheap. It's reasonably priced and you'll get your money worth. Gave service a four star because the waitress could have been more attentive. Overall good experience.

I had an amazing Middle Eastern dinner at Zizi in Chelsea.
They have a martini happy hour from 3:30 - 6:30 so we started off with a lemon drop martini and a luxardo cherry martini.
For appetizers we had the fennel confit with labneh, tempura artichokes, and grilled cabbage with a salad of snow peas, asparagus & arugula with a tahini dressing. For our main course, the grilled branzino.
Everything was delicious and the service was excellent! A special shout out to Orin and Maria.
The one downside is that by 7pm, the restaurant gets very crowded and loud. I will definitely go back, but a lot earlier!

We visited this restaurant as a group of five after hearing some great things about it. We ended up ordering a variety of dishes to share and were excited to try everything. Overall, it was a nice experience ,a few of the dishes really stood out, especially because they had a comforting, home-style flavor. I personally appreciated that the seasoning wasn’t too salty, which made everything feel a bit more wholesome.
That said, there were two or three dishes that tasted a bit more average and didn’t leave much of an impression. (ceviche and falafel) They weren’t bad, just a little underwhelming compared to the rest.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was decent, nothing too fancy, but warm and casual, which worked well for a relaxed night out with friends.

Firstly, the waitress from Venezuela was superb: she aimed to please, she was friendly and witty. The young man who greeted us was from Colombia. Both were amiable. Architecturally, they try to give you a Mediterranean vibe. On food, if it had matched the quality of service this place would be five stars. My guest enjoyed his meal. I was told I must come here for brunch which I have not done and since I live in Chelsea I will give it a try. For the price the food was good.

Absolutely loved our dinner at Zizi Mediterranean Restaurant!
We went with coworkers for a casual dinner and it turned out to be such a great choice. The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful — everything tasted homemade and authentic.

The food and drinks were excellent. We had the halloumi pesto, eggplant carpaccio, overnight lamb, glazed chicken skewer, and the Jerusalem bagel (Turkish simit). Everything was good, but my favorites were the halloumi pesto, eggplant carpaccio, and the Jerusalem bagel. My Turkish friends were especially excited and happy to see simit on the menu.
I also tried the Amor cocktail, which was amazing.
We were surprised to see eggplant listed as a dessert item, but it’s definitely worth trying!
My only complaint is the noise level, it was quite loud and made it hard to hear each other. Other than that, everything was great.

We had a nice experience at Dos Caminos. Really nice patio, good food and atmosphere.
The guacamole was delicious. The tacos were good overall but they burnt one order.
Our server was kind and attentive.
There was a happy hour but you had to sit inside. Not appealing on a beautiful summer evening.

A must visit! We had the guacamole and melted cheese (queso fundido) accompanied by some margaritas, and everything was delicious. Also fantastic service. Our waitress Epy was so lovely and attentive, she was great.
We look forward to going back!

It was a slow Sunday evening- but sometimes it makes the best cozy visits.
Not a first timer and on this round it was a bar seating kinda vibe. The gentleman at the bar was pleasant, conversational as needed but not overbearing (always the perfect formula).
Food-wise: must try the mac and chorizo- I loved that the don't use elbow pasta but rotelle instead. Now, if you're a cheese lover, you might just be im heaven with this dish. The chorizo was just so well placed, each a micro bite and not overwhelming the palate.
This was a side dish and while it's not a lot portion-wise this can definitely be a table/shared dish as it's heavy. I had only half and I think between the cheese and rotelle.. I had just enough.
Only complain is that the menu specifies fevertree beverages - but upon delivery it was another brand without any callout. This should have been mentioned initially bc unfortunately not all ginger beer's made the same. 🫠. Otherwise, it was a good visit.

Dined solo on a late Saturday afternoon. I’ve been here several times and I always have a great experience. I ordered the queso fundido with chips and salsa, and the cobb salad.
My waitress, Epifania, was welcoming and very helpful when ordering.
Overall 8.5/10, I’ll definitely return.

It was a very good experience. The food was delicious and felt like a true taste of Mexican cuisine. I also really appreciated the service — the host was prompt, friendly, and made us feel welcome right away. He even gave us some great recommendations that we ended up loving. I think his name was Rodrigo; he was very professional and added a warm touch to the whole experience. The dishes came out quickly, and the waiter was also very kind. Definitely a place I’d love to return to! :D

Excellent service and great food. Never had a bad experience here. I particularly like their shaved prime rib dip and their mint milkshake with oreo.
Their Burgers, fries and fish and chips are all worth trying too. Bonus points for opening later in the evening too!

We met for dinner at Cafeteria in Chelsea. Pretty relaxed place, friendly staff, nothing too fancy—which I actually liked. We came especially to try their mac & cheese. It’s not really my kind of food, but honestly, it was really good! Creamy and rich—I totally get why people love it. The menu is very American, with some seafood and other options too.
I asked if they had a whole wheat option for bread, but they didn’t. Only gluten-free or served in a lettuce leaf. Not a big deal, but it would be great to have that for people following an ADA-friendly diet.
The food was tasty, not trying to be upscale or anything. A good spot for a casual night out goth friends

Had a nice last minute dinner here with friends. The Strawberry Rhubarb Spritz is delicious but could be a lighter. Maybe a bit more soda water to get it slightly more refreshing. The frozen cosmo is perfect. We had a smattering of apps that were all excellent. Beet salad with grapefruit? Genius. I never would have put those things together. One of the best burratas I’ve ever had, it’s so creamy and again, the addition of strawberry is unexpected but excellent. Mac attack is a staple. Add the spicy pepper from the deviled eggs on top before you bite so you can get some good heat on it. My turkey burger was the tiniest bit dry but delicious. My friends raved about their meals, a burger with a fried egg and the Cobb salad. The lighting outside was a bit dim, anytime we tried to move the tiny lamp to make room, we couldn’t really see our food but easily fixable.

I had such an amazing experience at Cafeteria! From start to finish, everything was top notch. Our server, Atrice, was absolutely wonderful super friendly, welcoming, and full of great recommendations. We tried the Mushroom Toast to start (highly recommend!) and the Chicken Parm for our entrée both were perfection.
The wild berry mojitos were the perfect touch refreshing, sweet, and beautifully presented. The manager on duty, Louie, checked in a multiple times to make sure everything was going smoothly, which really showed how attentive and hands-on the staff are here.
The vibe, the service, and the food all deserve 10+ stars. I’ll definitely be back soon!

Was recommended the breakfast burrito but I was left disappointed.
The avocado could have used more salt + acid, and it was all lumped in the center, good quantity though.
I think there was only like 2 slices of bacon and 3 tater tots in it.
The burrito could have been toasted / griddled IMO for the price ($15.5).
It is nice that the default price doesn't include meat though.

really cute local spot. nice vibe inside. with all new coffee spots i get the drip and unfortunately the coffee was an over roasted dark roast and lacked flavor - very flat bold profile. i’ve heard good things about the burrito so would give that a try but as for coffee i would not recommend.

1920s inspired anything is my kind of place so this speakeasy hit the spot for me! I went with a group of coworkers. The food is small bites and all very good. The specialty cocktails were tasty and the staff friendly. The ambience is great and you should definitely stay to watch the burlesque show!

Stop. Put this spot on your list as a must-visit. This is one of my favorite bars in Manhattan. The drinks are on point, the staff is exceptional at everything and the vibe is super chill. The bouncer got us in quickly, we got our drinks in short order and when a table opened up, one of the servers actually came over to us to get us seated (even though we weren't technically waiting for a table!!!). There was a DJ there when we visited, who was excellent. It was busy but never got overcrowded. The cocktails were delicious. Can't wait to go back.
Reed Fabek - 5 months ago
I visited Bathtub Gin because a friend wanted to go. Without actively searching for a speakeasy, I wouldn't have expected a bar hidden behind the cafe. They actually serve coffee (though it was closed during my visit), and there was a guard at the entrance, who let us in.
Stepping inside, it was a completely different experience from the cafe side. A clear 1920s vibe dominated the theme, and I even spotted an actual bathtub, which I assume is a nod to the prohibition era when alcohol was famously made in bathtubs. They did an excellent job of staying true to this time period, from the newspaper inspired menu and the coasters to even the bathroom, which I'll get to later.
We ordered several drinks. While I don't recall what my friends had, I got the Gin Mill Gimlet, which was arguably the best one out of all the drinks (everyone agreed) and one I highly recommend. A lot of my friends, however, weren't fans of their choices; one was too spicy, another tasted too much like medicine, and another was overly syrupy. A significant concern arose when a friend who specifically ordered a mocktail version of the Don’t Take Wooden Nickels was mistakenly served the cocktail version. He started feeling the alcohol kick in, and fortunately he was okay, but it could have been genuinely dangerous for people with serious alcohol allergy.
The bathroom was very clean, which was great. However, there was a restroom attendant working outside the stalls, keeping the bathroom tidy. While this was very much on brand for the 1920s speakeasy theme, I personally felt a bit uncomfortable and didn't like that aspect, though I did appreciate the cleanliness.
Despite my friends' drink choices not being the best, and facing some issues with the service (specifically the mocktail mix up), I thoroughly enjoyed my Gin Mill Gimlet. I'd be interested in coming back to try other drinks aside from the ones my friends ordered. The food menu items also look appealing, so I may return to try those as well.

A truly special hidden gem! We stopped by Bathtub Gin before heading to a comedy show, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. From the moment you step through the secret entrance through the coffee shop, you’re transported into a warm, dimly lit space with vintage charm and great energy.
We shared a few cocktails, their Charcuterie Board, and the standout Kimchi Croquettes. Perfectly crisp on the outside, with a fried kimchi emulsion and house miso sauce that was chef’s kiss. Every bite was packed with flavor.
The co-ed bathrooms and shared sinks add to the unique vibe, and the space itself is both spacious and intimate, making it ideal for a relaxed pre-show meal or late-night drinks.
If you love speakeasies, great cocktails, and inventive bites, this is a must-visit spot next time you’re in the city. Highly recommend!

Good speakeasy in NYC, security at the front and the hostess were very nice and welcoming.
Live DJ playing on Saturday night was great, he definitely understood the mixed crowd and played the right tunes.
Had the old fashioned and espresso martini, will highly recommend both.
Food however was a different story, chicken sliders were dry/not fresh and shishito peppers were under cooked.
Will return for the cocktails and tunes, not the food.

Great experience here, close to two major subway lines nestled in a great location. Cozy and welcoming interior with attention to detail created a nice ambiance.
Friendly hostess, was able to sit us near the end of happy hr. Waitress was very friendly and attentive to our needs- she even let us order a second round of drinks before our first round arrived (since happy hr was ending). This type of hospitality is much appreciated.
My friend ordered the olives, pan de tomate with jamon, tortilla de patata and mixed croquettes. I ordered the croquettes and empanadas which were filled with spinach and cheese.
I was absolutely blown away by the presentation and flavors infused into each dish! Incredible value for the quality we received.
I had the Rosalita drink which was tasty and the red sangria which came as a very nice portion.
Highly recommended! Very authentic and friendly.
Indoor and outdoor seating was available (mid October was my visit).

The paella was the best I’ve had (granted I haven’t had paella in a while). The tomato toast bread thing was so refreshing, the bread just the right crunch and softness. The shrimp was sizzling and garlicky, just the way I like it. We also got some extra toast to dip in the shrimp oil. The paella we got had so much seafood, super generous amounts and we left very full.

Love this place. My sister visiting from LA specifically wanted to come back here on her most recent trip. She got her octopus over black ink rice. I got the scallops over rice. The surprise and delight was the anchovies appetizer. So delicious.
You can sit outside on a beautiful day. We sat inside that’s dark, its own kind of ambiance.
Serve was attentive and friendly.
I’m going back to try more of their appetizers.

I really loved the food here.
The jamon Iberico was perfectly fatty, the anchovies were plated really nice and tasty, the patatas bravas were an instant classic.
I also loved the empanadas with how juicy, crispy, and large they were.
The paella also was the right amount for 3 people with a small - the rice wasn’t overly crispy which I find to be the case with most other paella.

La Nacional has amazing spanish tapas, offering generous portions throughout each appetizer and entree! The service was also great! The staff was very accommodating and checked on us continually throughout the night. We went for a friend’s bday and they sang along with us and made it very special. The drinks were definitely not that strong, although we got the pitcher so maybe that’s why. So I recommend getting individual drinks. Out of all the dishes we tried the chicken was DIVINE. It was so succulent. The paella was fine but not amazing. I did enjoy the squid though, which wasn’t rubbery or chewy but extremely fresh.

I came here for brunch because it was highly recommended. Service is good and the drinks were phenomenal. It's first come first served and even though my large party was late they were able to see us all together by the grace of gods. The food itself was just okay. The steak from the steak and eggs was basic. The chicken was really tasty from the chicken and waffles. The other dishes lacked some flavor which was a bit disappointing although they were good. I may return but mainly to try other dishes as this place was rated pretty highly by others.

I recently visited the restaurant, and the experience was lovely overall. My meal consisted of the pollo a la plancha, and I have to say it was perfectly cooked. The flavors were so well balanced, and the chicken was incredibly tender and juicy. The service was also great, and I will definitely be back soon to try other dishes.

Had such a delicious meal. We got Rabo encendido (oxtail & fufu) & mofongo con costilla (mashed plantain w short rib). It was my first time having mofongo and I’m not sure how to describe it but it’s potato-e and a little sweet from the plantain. It’s not like mashed potatoes mashed, it’s got Structure. The short rib it came with was so tender fall right off the bone. My favorite was the oxtail. The fufu was actually sweet and pretty soft more like mashed potatoes. The oxtail was tender and soaked up all the delicious sauce. Came out to around $40pp for one entree each. Overall 8.5/10

Tea & Sympathy in New York City is a absolute gem for anyone who loves authentic British charm. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with warmth and a cozy atmosphere that feels like a little piece of England tucked away in the city. The service is impressively fast! Despite being a small and intimate spot, it adds to the charm and makes the experience feel personal and special.
The food is okay, offers a classic British comfort dishes if you are wanting a taste of Britian. Whether you go for their fish and chips, shepherd’s pie, or afternoon tea, everything is British inspired. The variety of teas is another highlight, with countless options to choose from, each offering a distinct aroma and taste that pairs wonderfully with the menu.
Located in a convenient and lively part of the city, Tea & Sympathy is easy to get to and well worth the visit. Because of its small seating size (inside) and popularity, I highly recommend making a reservation to guarantee a spot. Overall, it’s the perfect place for a relaxing meal, a cup of tea, and a taste of true British hospitality.

I moved to NYC in 1995, from the United Kingdom, good ol’ blighty. Terribly homesick at first for my friends and family, my friend suggested going to Tea & Sympathy and we then became regulars for Sunday lunch (a roast dinner of course or a cream tea!). We often spotted celebrities there. Rupert Everett was there many weekends (when he was much younger like we all were) and his dog fell asleep on my foot. It was such a fun place to hang out, always bustling and hard to get a table though. Nicky built a homage to vintage Britain, with fun old fashioned china, teapots, shelves of shabby chic nostalgic ephemera like old Royal Wedding cups, thimbles and keepsakes. It’s a delight for both your eyeballs and stomach.
A few years ago I took one of my kids, we went to the village to attend a service in honor of Queen Elizabeth II’s death. I knew we’d need to finish that day with Tea & Sympathy. Much to my surprise it hadn’t changed much, and Nicky is still working her tail off! Goes to show the work ethic on that lady! She could have retired years ago… clearly she loves it so much.
It’s a charming place to visit in the heart of Greenwich village.

Had tea for "one" and steak and Guinness pie. All very good. Good service. Tea for One was alot. It consisted of three types of sandwiches (so you got to choose 3 sandwiches and was given 3 pieces of each type, totaling 9 mini sandwiches) sticky toffee, sponge cake, 2 biscuits, jam and butter. I recommend. Would go back. Bill was just under $100 before tip.

What a nostalgic place for afternoon tea! So cute! Met with friends for the afternoon and enjoyed the high tea service option. Everything was delicious and our waiter’s tea recommendation was spot on (pun intended lol)! We were seated outdoors since it was a nice day and I noticed quite a few other patrons dining alone which was nice to see. I’d definitely recommend if you’d like to meet with a friend or just have a simple date alone to catch up on some reading. So cute!

This is my older daughter's go to when it's her birthday. She adores Tea & Sympathy. We love the food and of course the QUEEN. Friendly and polite service. Food is always the bees knees good and we will always come back. Thank-you so much!!!
