It has been many, and I do mean many years since I dined here, so since I was in the neighborhood, I stopped in for a quick bite to eat.
I don't remember much about this place from my last visit, other than that it served good food, but after my recent visit I could clearly see that it didn't change.
I really liked the atmosphere and service of this restaurant. My server was friendly and attentive, and my food came out pretty quickly in spite of the place being super busy during the breakfast rush.
They have a very inexpensive menu with great items, which includes alcoholic drinks. The restaurant itself looks small, but it is very spacious inside and kept very clean.
I was pleased with my latest overdue visit, and I will definitely stop by again in the future the next time I am in the area.

Affordable and delicious diner with a large menu and great portions. Maybe a 4.5/5 in quality but 5/5 in quantity and value for money.
Ordered the honey fried chicken but did not taste the honey at all. Guacamole was great. Home fries had a satisfying crust and a soft texture. Honestly my meal for $32.50 could have fed two people. Would go again.
Service was a bit unorganized, but I went for Sunday brunch so it’s understandable.

Best diner in Sunset Park! The coffee is very good and the breakfast is delicious. The staff and ambiance are nice and the service is great. I keep coming back.

You definitely have a good time alone or with family. The staff are friendly, the owner is very nice. I ordered Home fries, and they didn't come a lot for me. I can eat, I asked and they gave me more. So I think they listen to you.

We popped in here for breakfast before the ferry. We were warmly welcomed by the waitress. The food and coffee were very tasty and the portions were large. The gentleman from the staff also asked if everything was OK and poured some coffee. We recommend.

This meal was enough for two people and it was served quickly. The place is small with limited seating, so you either need to eat quickly or take it to go if you prefer to eat slowly.

The place is small, but the food is absolutely amazing here. You can smell the food from blocks. They are mostly known for their rotisserie chicken, but if you haven't tried their other food, you must try it. They are definitely the most underrated spot in sunset . They food speaks volumes and definitely give them a try.
Hypebeasteatsnyc - a year ago
I was so in the mood for good rotisserie chicken. Came here for the first time and I will be back! The chicken was moist, full of flavor without being salty. Which I appreciated because I watch the salt. The only reason I didn’t do 5 stars all around is because I was dying for sweet plantains which they didn’t have on Tuesday. There are different menus throughout the week. It smelled wonderful in there. I will be back to try other dishes. 👍👍👍

I stopped by for breakfast on a Saturday around 10am. I was honestly very disappointed that I got a bagel with watered down cream cheese
I ordered an everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and the cream cheese was SUPER watered down, it was melting out of the bagel with every bite. I’ve honestly never experienced such watered down cream cheese before… clearly they’re cutting corners on the cream cheese… the bagel was thin and tasted stale…
The service was quick and friendly but not friendly enough to make up for such a sad excuse of a cream cheese bagel…

I almost came to this place every day for breakfast! The bagels were amazing. We used to get eggs and cheese bagels and they were awesome also the pancakes. The cappuccino had a nice blend of coffee. The guys working there were very friendly and welcoming. I do highly recommend this place if you are up for a decent bite with a reasonable prices.

Just by fluke, we found this place walking 5 Avenue yesterday in Brooklyn.
I have to say, what a stroll along 5 Avenue it was.
From the various clothing stores and walk up restaurants to the locals on the sidewalk selling various homemade goodies to eat.
And then out of nowhere, we found this sit down resturant right on 5 Avenue.
It was around 6:30pm and maybe 6-7 tables had customers. Then by 7:30pm this place was jammed packed.
The food, the service - all of it was over the top.
A work colleague and myself shared a dish, there was enough for 4 people (seriously).
Everything was delicious.
Great job all, personally I came from Vancouver, BC Canada.
And have to say, that was hands down the best Mexican Dish I had ever, ever had.
Well done !

Consistently delicious authentic Mexican food with a very friendly and accommodating wait staff. The inside is fairly large for a Brooklyn restaurant which I really like because there's always plenty of space between you and other diners. I go here a couple of times a month and I never get tired of the food, highly recommended.

Highly recommend their combo number 13. Perfect fried pork chop. Fast, juicy, crispy, not too dry or greasy. Rice and beans are also tasty. I ate this many years ago it still the same, perfect.
That’s how their Philly cheesesteak likes. Not like Philly cheesesteaks in Philly but still not bad.
Tonight one of the plantains is not well done, kind of hard. Beans are not soft enough. But it’s alright.
A lot of options. Clean, tasty, affordable, exquisitely. Order normally take 15-20 minutes to prepare. Suggest you order take out through the phone or dine in. You can order by English or Spanish.

It’s usually good but this time they delivered me scraps! My half of chicken looks like dog food, they gave me a big salad with a teaspoon of salad dressing ! I asked before delivery for a lot of salad dressing and garlic sauce I only received the teaspoon of French dressing only . I called and asked can they deliver more she said no mommy I’m sorry ! after I gave the delivery guy a good tip the 1st time ! I’m giving these guys a break I’m devastated.

Dropped into the Irish haven on Monday 18th march,,, I felt right at home straight away, bar staff are really friendly and they can pull you a decent pint of cream... Got talking to the owner's, lovely lads, chatted to them for awhile, and had a good few pints, it made my day to meet some great people... Here for a full week and I intend to go back for a few pints...so if you're ever in Brooklyn, give this place a look in. James, Ballyfermot, Dublin 👍

A true Brooklyn Staple. I have been going here for years ! Everyone knows this bar since it was in the movie "The Departed"
The ambience, food music, and crowd all great. Mike the bartender a little arrogant but nice

Cozy bar with lovely bar tenders, great vibes, pool, darts, and live music. The night we went they had open bar for $20 for 2 hours which is goated for NYC. They even pour their Guinness correctly AND in the proper glass.

The food was great im surprised this place doesn't have better reviews. Maybe they stepped their game up recently. All of the food had a lot of flavor. I mean real flavor not just msg. The dumplings were the best Ive had in the area for sure. The outside of them was caramelized but not burnt or dry, and there was green onion inside the dumpling, just a lot of flavor.
5 wantons in the soup (usually places give 3) and the broth was a dark color full of flavor. was not reminiscent of salty pee like most places. The chicken was as good as anywhere else Ive gotten it. definitely was not worse.
I was surprised everything was so much better because it was actually a little cheaper than the other 2 places I frequent.
This is my new go-to place if they can keep doing what they are doing.

This used to be my favorite comfort-food restaurant, and for the last couple of weeks they have been messy. It started as bad and now we are at worst. I feel like the food is overcooked, and I really don’t like to eat too crispy fries and/or chicken. Additionally, I think they are literally counting the fries because they used to fill the containers, but now, not so much. And today it was last straw for me and my family because I found a hair in my fries. I realized that they don’t use hair nets or anything like that. To top it off, I saw a lady that helps there brush her nose then going back to tending the food. Why? I don’t know if they changed management, but I don’t think I can go back there. I understand that accidents happen, but there has to be a standard for cleanliness when it comes to restaurants. Also, when I called I ordered the first three items and they couldn’t even let me finish ordering? Why?
Anyways, I think I would like the old people back please. I tried to be as constructive and objective as possible in this review.

This is a great spot that offers free delivery with a $12?+ purchase. It hit all the cravings I had. With a cucumber avocado roll, miso soup, veggie teriyaki combo with soup and rice... I had enough leftovers for a full meal the next day :)

Johnny's has all the makings of greatness: old-school digs, counter serve, locals of all stripes. And the pizza is excellent. Soft fresh dough, quality moz, bright sauce. Not sure Italians run it anymore, but who cares. Top 10 Brooklyn slice joints?

If you find yourself in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, pop into Johnny's Pizza for the real deal. The owner, Johnny, took my son's multiple allergies (pn, tn, egg, fish, sesame, poppy, pumpkin, sunflower seeds) very seriously; in fact, Johnny's daughter has allergies, so he understood! Johnny's is very much an old-school, authentic pizza joint-nothing fancy- just really delicious Brooklyn pizza! Perfection!! Pictured is their square pie.

This is a classic pizzeria that has withstood the test of time. Est. 1968 the pizza is delicious the variety is enough to keep traditionalists like myself happy with extra cheese and pepperoni and sausage or the grandma slice and for the more adventurous types they will be pleased by the Hawaiian style. They also have appetizers like beef patties, garlic knots and they make delicious heros and pasta dishes. Take a trip to this great place and Manga!! Enjoy!!!

It's a hole in the wall style restaurant that I've walked by for years, but I wanted Pupusas so I decided to give them a try. I got 1 frijol and one chicharron and it was surprisingly filling and good. Not THE BEEEEEESSSST.... BUUUUT definitely have had worse, so for cheap and quick eats it was good. They speak Spanish mainly so have google translate on Go. Otherwise they have two bathrooms and let my puppy @puppachulo sit at the table so A+ for that.
