5 Star Rating Last minute location find. Ended up going right before the kitchen closed. Loved that they had a great vegan selection. From apps, to entree to dessert. We got options! Had the impossible burger. Was very delicious and tall. And for dessert had the vegan sundae. It was very delicious. 10/10 would come again.

5 Star Rating The service was very good, the ambience was also nice, a little noisy. My burger was delicious, I could choose how the patty should be. As a vegetarian, my wife also found a delicious salad. Overall, one of the better burger restaurants in the mid-price segment.

4 Star Rating Gorgeous restaurant in Upper East side neighborhood. During Sunday lunch hours, we were able to get a table without waiting. There are both indoor and outdoor seating, and a very beautiful large bar area. We got pancakes, wings and Patty melt. Pancakes were little dry, wouldn’t have nice if they were moist and softer. The wings were on the decent, would have liked that to me moist as well, but the salad and garlic parmesan sauce were good. The Patty melt was the best item. Really nice toast, with lots of paddy and cheese. We ordered the blueberry mint lemonade and strawberry milkshake as well. Both were excellent. Throughout the dining, we had a tough time finding our server, but thankfully other servers were around to help us.

5 Star Rating Best meal out we’ve had in awhile!! Incredible food and excellent service!! Definitely will be back. Started with the avocado tomato and feta salad. Delish and fresh. Each got Bacon Cheeseburger with side of fries. Regular and truffle fries. Burger was very juicy and tasty. You can tell the meat was good and fresh. Good size, not too big. Everything was perfect. The service was also great. First time in months we’ve had good service from the moment we walked into the door. Looking forward to returning and trying more items on the menu.

5 Star Rating Only got a photo after we'd begun demolishing our food but it goes to show how good it is people, that you can hardly wait to tear into everything. Some of the best smoked fish I've ever had, and the amount of onion in the latkes was perfect. The staff are kind, it can get busy, but the service is top notch. I don't think you can really order a wrong thing, so go and get yourself something great because this place is famous for a reason

4 Star Rating July 2023: (Cash or check only!) Stopped by for lunch. First time here in over 15+ years. I remember the sable was really good. Note that I was surprised that they only accept cash or a check. I didn't see any signs warning us. Luckily, I was planning on going to Peter Luger's this week, so I had some 💵. We got seated inside near the bathroom and it was a bit cramped. But no problem since they were really busy. We ordered the latkas and the combination sturgeon and salmon plate. The potato pancakes came out very fast. They were served with 🍎 sauce and sour cream. Overall, was okay. The pancakes didn't have much flavor on their own. You really needed the sour cream and apple sauce to make it interesting. The sturgeon and salmon plate was tasty. We ordered sesame bagel 🥯 with the plate. Cream cheese, tomato 🍅, onion 🧅, a pickle 🥒, olives 🫒 and some lettuce came with the plate. Together, the sturgeon and salmon were pretty good. I'd come back again if I was in the neighborhood and craving a salmon lox sandwich.

5 Star Rating Famous people like Anthony Bourdaine, among others, have frequented this UWS staple for years. However, Barney Greengrass is not bombarded with tourists like Russ & Daughters or Katz's Delicatessen in the LES. You'll find local regulars sitting outside munching down on potato latkes, scrambled eggs & toasted bagels. Their specialty is smoked fish. Nova lox & cream cheese on an everything bagel is delicious but BG is the sturgeon king for a reason. The sturgeon is delicious! Service is friendly, fast & attentive, but on this visit, the server forgot the tomato slices & potato salad with my Sturgeon & Nova Lox Platter order 😾. Prices aren't cheap but reasonable for the generous portions. I like how BG is famous but still has a down to Earth, local New Yorker vibe. These kinds of old school New York establishments are a dying breed. So glad they survived the Covid lockdowns. Highly recommended. Support your local restaurants & small businesses 👍

2 Star Rating There were 3 of us, my wife, my daughter and me. We ordered an appetizer - chicken soup, meat soup, hummus and falafel: the chicken soup was reasonable and good, meat soup - full of spices, mainly cumin, so much so that you could not distinguish the taste of the soup, the hummus was reasonable, but the pitas were heated in the microwave instead of on the grill, so they were sticky and almost inedible Main dish: My wife ordered a schiff salad - it was good. My daughter and I ordered filet mignon with mushrooms. We both didn't eat the filet because it was full of fat, when we complained to the waiter, the answer was sorry that's all there is. The chips were wet and not crispy, probably fried twice and absorbed a lot of oil. At the end of the meal [if you can call it that] the shift manager came to find out why we didn't eat. After a detailed explanation he looked at us in amazement saying, sorry we don't have filet mignon we mistakenly gave you an old menu!!!! it's joke. In light of this, he gave us a discount of 40 dollars and charged us 202 dollars - 200 dollars more than the value of the meal.

5 Star Rating My dining experience at this restaurant was absolutely exceptional. The food was exquisite, the service impeccable, and the ambiance delightful. Highly recommended! They have a picture of the rebbe. Which I found to be pretty dope. They have a huge steak called the moshiach steak. Think it’s off menu. Waiters are very polite and helpful. It’s a gem of a place. Not many like these around.

5 Star Rating We had a good experience at this nice rusty place. We tried the Kasbah tower from the sushi menu and the rib eye steak, both were good. Desert wasn’t a hit, but wasn’t bad either. I think they don’t serve alcoholic beverages, at least I didn’t notice any on the menu and I forgot to ask about that. The waiter and overall service was good and decently priced (the restroom could be cleaner, though). Chabad music plays quietly and two screen are showing old farbrangen clips with the Lubavitche rebbe and other Chabad stuff. A paper with d’var torah was also prepared on every table.

5 Star Rating One of the highlights of our trip! We throughly enjoyed every bite of salad, calamari and the seafood special with rigatoni. Their portion sizes are no joke and a great value in my opinion. Boisterous, loud place but in a good way! 5 Star Rating Carmine's Italian restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with a mix of classic flavors and hearty portions. The calamari appetizer is a standout, boasting a crispy exterior and tender inside that makes it a perfect start to your meal. The penne la vodka with shrimp is a must-try, combining perfectly cooked pasta with a rich and creamy vodka sauce that complements the succulent shrimp. As for the three-wheel lasagna, it's a cheesy delight with layers of pasta, meat, and sauce that melt in your mouth. The overall atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making Carmine's a great spot for those craving authentic Italian comfort food.

4 Star Rating Perfect little French restaurant to spend a rainy NYC evening with close friends and family. Our server, Marco, was at the original location at W.11th & 6th from 2006-2017 when we frequented that location for homey Sunday brunches with wonderful cappuccinos. We enjoyed escargot, duck pate and the French onion soup starters. All were well prepared, all reminiscent, in a good way, of the west village fare. For our entrees, we shared steak frites, perfectly medium-rare with crispy fries; lamb shank, with fork tender meat, creamy mashed potatoes and a rich demi-glace. Dessert was a satisfying bread pudding and a mango sorbet. Only bummer of the evening was the rum raisin gelato which was very grainy...but Marco changed it right out for another bread pudding with vanilla gelato which was just right, warm bread pudding, cold, creamy gelato! Dinner was paired with 2 bottles of Cotes du Rhone and dessert accompanied with 2 cappuccinos. Everything was priced fairly and all was right with the world.

5 Star Rating This is truly the epitome of a French bistro experience right in the heart of NYC. Stylish, intimate and seasonal menus tap the best of France's classic dishes, and the chefs spin new trends into favorite dishes. Accessible, delicious, and memorable. The bar is a local's favorite, with delightful cocktail offerings each season, spun by its own mixologists. Service is en pointe, and you'll occasionally spot a celebrity among the restaurant's chic bistro tables. Recommend the gourmet burgers, European style coffee and that showstopper brunch is unforgettable! Not to be missed, highly recommend on all counts, a true Upper West Side favorite.

5 Star Rating I recently dined here and was blown away by their phenomenal onion soup. The onion soup had a rich, savory broth with perfectly caramelized onions, offering a depth of flavors that left my taste buds tingling. My entree was the FR burger, it too was a masterpiece - juicy, well-seasoned beef topped with melted cheese and crisp, fresh vegetables, all nestled within a soft brioche bun. Every bite was a symphony of flavors. I devoured the soup too quickly to take a picture but here’s a picture of the burger.

5 Star Rating This place is really lovely !! To start the bread was airy and I loved the hint of rosemary. Fried artichokes with parsley was amazing, I was a bit thrown off with fried parsley but it tastes really good , especially with a squeeze of lemon. 5 Star Rating Celeste is the restaurant where my partner and I had our first date. It’s also the restaurant where, nearly three years later, we held our wedding reception. On both occasions, Celeste proved ideal — we were treated like we were returning to a dear friend’s home and we feasted to our hearts’ content. Carmine Mitroni, the owner, is an exceptional host. He is warm and genuine. When it came to our wedding reception, we trusted Carmine with all the details — from the wine selection to everything that made it onto the final menu. By the end of the night, our 60+ guests were delighted with the food, service, and ambiance at Celeste. Without exception, we were all amazed by the amount of delicious platters that Carmine and Celeste’s servers placed in front of us. Our guests with special dietary restrictions were taken care of in precisely the ways we requested. Those who asked for a non-alcoholic beverage, such as a Diet Coke, coffee, cappuccino, or double espresso got exactly what they wanted — plus a friendly smile from one of the servers. Then, when it came time to paying the bill, the price was right and there were no surprises. All told, my partner and I could not have found a better place for both our first date and our wedding reception. We have every reason to feel grateful. To Carmine and his team at Celeste we say, thank you.

3 Star Rating I visited this place for the first time, and it was an overall good experience for us. Just I want to recommend them to add Turkish platters in their main course because the single serving isn’t enough for family we have to order everything separately and even they don’t have enough room on table to eat we ordered 4 courses and billed around $128. And waiters are in the end greedy for the tips they will ask you questions if you even forgot to add any tip in the bill. That was bit irritating in the end.
