Last minute location find. Ended up going right before the kitchen closed. Loved that they had a great vegan selection. From apps, to entree to dessert. We got options! Had the impossible burger. Was very delicious and tall. And for dessert had the vegan sundae. It was very delicious. 10/10 would come again.

The service was very good, the ambience was also nice, a little noisy. My burger was delicious, I could choose how the patty should be. As a vegetarian, my wife also found a delicious salad. Overall, one of the better burger restaurants in the mid-price segment.

Gorgeous restaurant in Upper East side neighborhood. During Sunday lunch hours, we were able to get a table without waiting. There are both indoor and outdoor seating, and a very beautiful large bar area.
We got pancakes, wings and Patty melt. Pancakes were little dry, wouldn’t have nice if they were moist and softer. The wings were on the decent, would have liked that to me moist as well, but the salad and garlic parmesan sauce were good. The Patty melt was the best item. Really nice toast, with lots of paddy and cheese.
We ordered the blueberry mint lemonade and strawberry milkshake as well. Both were excellent.
Throughout the dining, we had a tough time finding our server, but thankfully other servers were around to help us.

Of course the Cheeseburger is Excellent 🍔 🤤
The server could have been more attentive, there were not many people in the restaurant. But in all fairness she was working with an injured hand.
I was startled when I asked a young man if he was taking my order and he replied "No" This is not the way to greet a customer. Particularly, a New Customer.

On a cold blustery Saturday an old friend and I randomly walked in without reservations or expectations. We were given the chance to wait at the bar for a table and the bar person offered water right away eventhough it was uncertain we could be seated. We were given a booth within 20 minutes and felt we were in the perfect place to catch up. The food was delicious too. I shall recommend to Upper West Side friends! Thank you for making us feel so welcome and taken care of!

A culinary Institution for over 100 years, located in the Upper West Side, offers one of the better Nova and other amazing Smoked Fishes in town. Other Deli specialties include Potato Latkes, Pastrami, Corned Beef, Blintzes and other delicacies. Beware that only Cash payments are accepted. Service is extremely helpful. Highly recommended experience!

One of those institutional places in nyc you have to try and won’t be disappointed! The food was so delicious and the staff were amazing. The restaurant is cozy with lots of table but it fills up super quickly depending on the time and day you go. On a weekend, you can definitely expect to wait during brunch hours. We went around 1:30pm and it was easier to get a table then. Make sure to have enough cash because it is cash only!

Given the legendary status, this place probably doesn't need a new review. The atmosphere, the vibe and especially the food won't disappoint you. We got latkes, herring sandwich and pastrami sandwich. There was a line before we got seated, the line goes faster if you are ok with seating outside.
vespinoita - a week ago
Only got a photo after we'd begun demolishing our food but it goes to show how good it is people, that you can hardly wait to tear into everything. Some of the best smoked fish I've ever had, and the amount of onion in the latkes was perfect. The staff are kind, it can get busy, but the service is top notch. I don't think you can really order a wrong thing, so go and get yourself something great because this place is famous for a reason
Siena WD - 2 months ago
Definitely an overrated place. Maybe other dishes were better. However, that day I ate one of the worst scrambled eggs in my life. I could smell old oil in it. The poached eggs were poorly cooked and the service was barely average. We also had to recall our order because it was incomplete. This wasn't what we expected after such good reviews.

This is the standard while other restaurants have come and gone. Deli Kasbah remains. Expanded menu from steaks, burgers, wraps, Israeli dishes. Good service as well. Spots can be hard to come by as any NYC restaurant may have. It's was our 28th wedding anniversary. We got a spot right in front.

I ordered catering for 30 from Kasbah and not only were they wonderful to work with, but all of my colleagues said it was some of the best food our office had ever had! What a treat. We’ll definitely be ordering again :)

This was one of the best Italian food places I've ever dined at. The portions are amazingly big! The Vodka Sauce Pasta dish was delicious! The salad was tasty and fresh! The variety of included bread was mouth watering. The service was pretty good. I enjoyed my dining experience here and the location was perfect before seeing our Broadway show.

Famous for its generous family-style portions. All the food is cooked to order and delicious. The salads, antipasto, and pastas are all made fresh. The restaurant caters to large parties with plenty of space in the main dining room. The bar is also a good place for dining.

One of the highlights of our trip! We throughly enjoyed every bite of salad, calamari and the seafood special with rigatoni. Their portion sizes are no joke and a great value in my opinion. Boisterous, loud place but in a good way! The only weird thing is they asked us to pay the bill right after we ordered our food due to a shift change, which I’ve never experienced before. Otherwise service was solid.

Fantastic restaurant! Be sure to make reservations!
The Cesar salad was so good! ( anchovies on the side, please ) the stuffed mushrooms, baked clams, calamari, and cheese melted on top of delicious garlic bread, they gave us such big portions on the appetizers, we had no room left for entrées!
But we did order shrimp scampi and chicken marsala for all of us to share! Next time we're going for the entrées first! ( ok, we will definitely be having appetizers, too! )
Thanks to Carmine's and their wonderful staff who worked together to get the five of us so many yummy treats! We'll be back!
Located on 91st & B'way in New York city, if you're in town, go eat!! The prices are affordable, and the food is just amazing!

Time goes by... We still have "French Roast" on the UWS (85th & Bway). I remember when it used to be open all night long! Even though that's no longer possible, it is still such a "go to" for tasty food, great cappuccinos, and fabulous ambience.
The service is also wonderful. Just a wonderful staff.
The one thing that would make it even better for me would be.... Create a soothing and distinctive musical experience to go with the classic and classy venue. Here on the UWS, I think you could do great with upbeat classical music! No one else does that (except Zabar's, and it's obviously working for them! 😉)
Truly, putting some thought into music that is sweet, uplifting, and tasty would be great.
No rock and roll heavy duty stuff. Make it soft and sweet! It will help my digestion! And it will soothe my heart, as much as your delicious comfort food already does. Upbeat soft classical or tasty jazz (Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Sarah Vaughn, Bill Evans, Bill Charlap, etc.) would go a long way to create even more of a distinctive and unique character for your wonderful bistro. Thanks!

The service was wonderful. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The onion soup and lyonnaise salad were 5 stars. The onion soup had heaps of cheese and a balanced flavor. It was a relaxed atmosphere on a Tuesday 11am.

I loved French Roach! It feels like a quintessential NYC restaurant with a history that you can feel as soon as you step in the door. Everything about it feels authentic.
My friend and I split the French Toast and FR Burger. Both were so delicious. We saw people all around us eating their French Onion soup, so I’ll be sure to try that next time.
I can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu! 😍

Perfect little French restaurant to spend a rainy NYC evening with close friends and family. Our server, Marco, was at the original location at W.11th & 6th from 2006-2017 when we frequented that location for homey Sunday brunches with wonderful cappuccinos.
We enjoyed escargot, duck pate and the French onion soup starters. All were well prepared, all reminiscent, in a good way, of the west village fare. For our entrees, we shared steak frites, perfectly medium-rare with crispy fries; lamb shank, with fork tender meat, creamy mashed potatoes and a rich demi-glace. Dessert was a satisfying bread pudding and a mango sorbet. Only bummer of the evening was the rum raisin gelato which was very grainy...but Marco changed it right out for another bread pudding with vanilla gelato which was just right, warm bread pudding, cold, creamy gelato! Dinner was paired with 2 bottles of Cotes du Rhone and dessert accompanied with 2 cappuccinos. Everything was priced fairly and all was right with the world.

I love everything about French Roast. I’ve never had a bad meal, or any experiences that would make me stop coming here. Sam is an excellent and attentive manager. He is always checking in with his staff and the guests. You can tell that this place functions properly. I come here at least once a month with my family and friends, wouldn’t have it any other way.

This place is really lovely !! To start the bread was airy and I loved the hint of rosemary. Fried artichokes with parsley was amazing, I was a bit thrown off with fried parsley but it tastes really good , especially with a squeeze of lemon. Eggplant lasagna has so much flavor and is not soggy !! I had the margarita pizza with prosciutto which was great as well. Crispy crust! Service was great & attentive as well :) Will be coming back here and surely recommending to others.
Cash only but they do have an atm

So wanted to love this place as it was recommended to us by some locals. Went on a Saturday afternoon, unfortunately they had a limited brunch menu. The lasagna we had was amazing, put the pizza was horrible. It wasn’t done at all. Ate a slice and took the rest to go.

Very authentic local Italian restaurant on the UWS. The food was okay, but the vegetarian-only options we ordered weren’t great.
Since it’s cash-only it turns out to be quite reasonably priced for a Manhattan restaurant.

I had Turkish sis kebob and the lamb dumplings. I really liked the dumplings. It was refreshing and tasty. Turkish sis kebob was lamb and it was pretty good but maybe slightly over cooked.
The servers and host were really friendly and nice and the atmosphere was comfortable and nice as well. I would come back to try the lamb chop.

I visited this place for the first time, and it was an overall good experience for us. Just I want to recommend them to add Turkish platters in their main course because the single serving isn’t enough for family we have to order everything separately and even they don’t have enough room on table to eat we ordered 4 courses and billed around $128. And waiters are in the end greedy for the tips they will ask you questions if you even forgot to add any tip in the bill. That was bit irritating in the end.

Hummus was delicious, but menu overall lacked vegetarian main courses. I got the zucchini fritter app and it lacked flavor. Partner loved the chicken kebab, would recommend this place if you eat meat!

classic diner with such good food, wait is a little long but you don’t really notice it because the ambiance of the place is kinda iconic of diners. def on the expensive and longer wait side, so if you are looking for a quick breakfast lunch or dinner this is not the place. i haven’t ordered in though so maybe that’s faster.

City Diner is fabulous. I live just a few blocks away and I've been eating their food for 20+ years now. It's consistently great food, no matter what you order, and the people who work there are friendly and kind. My husband and I actually had our first date there! We worked together at another restaurant in the neighborhood, and when we got off work, City Diner was the only place open. So that's where we went.
I just wish they were still 24/7, or at least open late. Ever since Covid, they started closing at 8 - 9 PM, and they've never gone back to their regular hours. I miss being able to order fried calamari at 2:00 in the morning!

August 2022. We came for lunch on a Saturday around 1:30 pm and were the only patrons. The restaurant is not huge but I liked the music and ambience.
I had the lamb korai which was great and seasoned with the perfect amount of spiciness. The naan and chaputi were also very nice.
The prices were surprisingly reasonable for a restaurant in NYC!!

It was good.. the only the waiter is flirtatious.. and purposely put the menu in my breast while my husband was there and I saw the waiter getting closed touching his body against a woman. Food was pretty authentic. Whenever I go to the Indian restaurant, I taste a lot of sugar but this restaurant is very good with spice.
I would like to come back to try other dishes. I wish they had a gobi appetizer in the future.

Probably the best Starbucks I’ve been to. Extremely spacious, with about 19 seats. Staff working efficiently, while being kind & courteous. There’s a bathroom available & of course WiFi. I don’t drink coffee, but I did have some tea, wasn’t anything special. This’ll be my new spot to work & chill in.
