My husband and I came to 5 Napkin Burger on the Upper West Side for a casual date night, and it was such an easy, low-stress spot with really good food. We ordered the signature 5 Napkin Burger, Korean BBQ wings, garlic Parmesan wings, onion rings, mac and cheese, cheesecake, and margaritas. The burger was filling and flavorful, the wings gave us two completely different options to try, and the sides were perfect for sharing. Definitely save room for the cheesecake because it was a great way to end the meal. I’d recommend this location for a relaxed date night when you want plenty of choices, generous portions, and a place where you can sit, share a few dishes, and actually enjoy your time together.

I tried the Hell’s Kitchen location last time, so I thought I’d go to the Upper West Side this time. Happy Hour is the name of the game here, the prices are killer! $60 for a burger, rings, wings, and 2 martinis. I tried the signature burger this time, it’s kinda French with Gruyère cheese and grilled onions, excellent. I couldn’t resist repeating the tower of onion rings (half price at HH). Switched the wings to Buffalo style this time - I liked the Korean style better honestly but these were very good. And the martini was so nice that I ordered a second one 🤗. 5 Napkin Burger is becoming my go-to happy hour destination!

Absolutely wonderful experience at 5 Napkin. Jose took amazing care of us — attentive, friendly, and genuinely great at what he does. He made the meal feel easy and enjoyable from start to finish. Service like his really elevates the whole dining experience. Highly recommend!

Came here to try the sushi and was so pleasantly surprised. Didn’t think a burger place would have such good sushi and thought it was great! Really nice and attentive staff. Will definitely come back!!

We recently visited 5 Napkin Burger and had a good overall experience. Our server, Eric, was attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The burgers looked handmade and were decent, but flavor-wise they weren’t among the best burgers I’ve had in New York. They felt pretty average compared to some of the other great burger spots in the city. One thing to note is that the burgers don’t come with sides — everything is à la carte — and the burgers were around $19 each. The sides were actually a highlight. We tried the sweet potato fries, mac & cheese, and the Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts were a bit spicy, but they are listed that way on the menu, so it wasn’t a surprise. Overall, it was a solid meal with good service from Eric. While I might come back, I’d probably try some other restaurants first given the huge number of great dining options in New York.

Barney Greengrass was packed when we visited, so be prepared for a bit of a wait for your food during peak times. Trust me, it is absolutely worth it. We got two of the Sturgeon King bagels alongside their famous latkes, and the meal was spectacular. The fish was top-tier and the latkes were perfectly fried. We left wishing we had also ordered a Nova bagel to try, but we'll definitely fix that mistake on our next visit. Highly recommend!

Staff all don white coats while serving delicious deli favorites. A New York staple that keeps it as real as it gets. Fresh fish and deli meats served at a cash only establishment. It gives that NYC nostalgic feel fans crave when trekking from borough to borough. The bagel with lox is outstanding and the staff will refill your coffee as frequently as the 1 Train passes through the city. Limited hours at this landmark so wake up early and enjoy some authentic breakfast in the city that never sleeps.

A very well known Jewish deli that offers all of the Ashkenazi Jewish food staples. We were a couple that came here for breakfast, not too early on a weekday, and we immediately were seated without even having to wait in line which was quite surprising. We had the cheese omelette with horseradish cheddar with a side of nova scotia salmon, their famous latkes (served with a side of sour cream & applesauce) and an everything bagel with a side of scallion cream cheese. Everything was very delicious, but the most surprising of them all was definitely the latkes, so if you plan on eating here, make sure to not miss out on this one! The place itself is quite small, and although they have seating option both inside the shop and outside of it, the tables are quite small and cramped, so I wouldn't recommend it for larger groups, probably 4 people max.

Beautiful restaurant in Manhattan, very mystical and typical of the block ! The food was DELICIOUS and feeds very well maybe too much because I wanted to try everything !!! Very quick service and welcome. The ambiance inside is so cozy and social ! Great experience Small issue: when we wanted to pay the waiter made a mistake on our check (+31$)and it didn’t feel accidental … but he apologized so no worries but still suspicious haha.

Friendly and easy going breakfast place with great taste. The service is very friendly, super fast, and very attentive. They ask for coffee refills every 5 mins. Latkes are super tasty. Also a great choice for kids. No wonder why they are popular. We got the famous sturgeon and salmon platter. They were very good. There is plenty of space to sit but a line builds up pretty early in the morning. It is cash only but there is an ATM in CVS across the road or there is a BofA branch 1 block away.

Great food and friendly service. We recently had an expensive, but overcooked, order sent back and redone, not a problem at all! Steaks are delicious.... I recommend the Brazilian and if you like a saucy steak, the Johnnie Walker. Yum!! Everyone is always so nice. Has a bit of a rustic, casual vibe and is a good choice for a special night out. It's BYOB here so if you want to bring a bottle or some beer, do check with the staff first for what's acceptable.

The food was phenomenal! Especially the appetizer! We got babaghanoush with 2 cigars and 2 pitas, and it was mind blowing. The seasoning of the babaghanoush was just perfect. The beef cigars and pitas were also extremely delicious. The outside of the cigars were almost like pastry, a little flaky and mildly crispy. The pita bread was simply excellent. It was freshly baked and steaming hot. The burger was also very delicious, but a bit salty to my taste. The classic rib-eye steak was also well cooked. The meat was very tender and juicy. The grilled vegetables were okay. Good thing the fries were great, too! The service was also very nice. Very laid back and relaxing. Overall, it was a great experience. Can’t wait to come back again!!

We had an outstanding evening at Deli Kasbah!! Kasbah has the coolest vibes; with a traditional feel and modern flair. From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us with genuine hospitality. The kosher menu offers a most delightful menue, each dish tasty, fresh and made with high-quality ingredients. The steak we had and the onion rings were unbelievable. The mashed potatoes are beyond delicious 😋 They have this awesome program that if you say a Dvar Torah you get a free dessert - its very worth it!! we liked the hot choclate chip cookie with ice cream. 🍪🍪☕️ The people there are so warm and geshmak making it easy to linger and enjoy excellent conversation. We left thoroughly satisfied and already planning our next visit.

We celebrated my Wife's 60th birthday this past weekend. The Service could not have been better. Scott was our Server (a long time fixture at Carmine's), he went above & beyond to make the day fantastic for our crowd. To add to this, Shane the manager on duty was completely on top of the table and continuosly checked on us to ensure that we had everything we needed. We've been coming to the Broadway & 91st street location for more than 30 years. We've also been to the Times Square location on numerous occasions. To say that these folks helped us to create a Memory to Last a Lifetime would be a Gross understatement. THANK YOU to Scott, Shane and the Carmine's Crew for making my Wife's 60th a rousing success!

Great food everytime. Been coming here for years. Went back to celebrate my birthday. Chicken wings are so good the house made blue cheese is amazing. Calamari is a table must! And we always get the shrimp parmigian! The shrimp so big! And don’t forget the bread and oil!

Happy hour review. The food is good and plentiful. Drinks are reasonable. I finally had the opportunity to go to Carmine during their limited happy hour (Monday to Thursdays only 3-5pm and after 9pm). The calamari is as good as I remembered from the early 1990’s when they first opened, although now, the marinara sauce is less garlicky and more cooked. Serving size is perfect for 2 to share. The best deal was the sliders (2 for $5): the foccacia bread was great, the portion large and the extra sauce was a bonus touch. The mussels were good too but the sauce was not (chili) spicy - it also came with 2 whole stewed tomatoes. The house red was a young montepulciano d’abruzzo (2024) served in a drinking style glass (like in Italy). Lunch menu (sandwiches and smaller pasta portions is available all day at the bar. For those with soy allergy: canola oil is used exclusively in the kitchen. But they don’t make the focaccia and the bread they use in the meatballs in house, so ask your server. True to its name, family style Italian food. You'll walk into complete chaos and extremely loud noise as you walk in to their dining hall. Portion sizes are out of control, however pricing is pretty accurate given the huge portions. As 4 adults and kids, we managed to finish off 1 entree Rigatoni Country Style ($29), and 1 appetizer Stuffed Mushrooms ($19.99). We of course made a mistake of ordering two more appetizers not realizing how big their portion sizes actually are! These included Garlic Bread, and huge portion of Fried Calamari! Noise levels on the higher end, pretty difficult to have a conversation with the person seated across the table. Quick service though and really good food quality. The country style pasta was very flavorful. Highly recommend this place for a family style experience!

We love this family style old school super popular Italian restaurant! Their eggplant parmigiana is the absolute best, and comes in a huge serving size enough to feed four or more people! Or two with leftovers, which taste even better the next day. We've dined in which is usually crowded-- esp on weekends, but not as crowded as the Times Square location, and also have taken out on many occasions, which has a separate pick up entrance and is super convenient. Their salads, fried calamari, pasta, pretty much all dishes-- are all fantastic and served in family sized portions-- add pasta for a very small upcharge. Focaccia also delicious. Their sauce is extremely flavorful with few ingredients and no sugar.

I’ve been coming to French Roast since I was a teenager (shhh… a long time ago 😆), and it has never disappointed. The service was amazing from start to finish. I had the steak salad, and my daughter had the steak sandwich and both were absolutely delicious. Now, let’s talk about dessert. My daughter ordered the crème brûlée, and it was outstanding. I had the chocolate cake with coconut gelato… pure decadence! I’m usually not a dessert person, but I can’t recommend it enough. Do yourself a favor and save room for dessert, you won’t regret it. It’s always a pleasure coming back, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

My family loves French food since we have French/ Spanish backgreund and I personally have learn to cook French food, so this restaurant doesn't disappoints. The food is consistently good, full of flavor, and feels authentic. You can tell a lot of locals dine here, which is always a great sign. The restaurant is spacious, comfortable, and can easily accommodate large parties, making it a great choice for family dinners or celebrations. They have a great variety of wines to choose from, the prices are fair for the quality and the experience, and the service is always attentive. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be coming back!

I had a fantastic experience here. Everything we ordered was prepared with such care and attention to detail. The pasta was cooked perfectly and topped with a fresh sprig of herbs, while the sandwich was packed with crisp bacon and creamy avocado. I especially loved the golden, toasted bread on the sandwich. It is rare to find a place that balances comfort food with such high-quality presentation. We will definitely be coming back soon. It is the perfect spot for a satisfying meal.

Such a cozy place to dine in or out! I ate my arugula salad before any pics it was a 10. The restaurant is casual; a cozy Parisian spot on the upper west side of town. Family friendly too. From previous dinners there, i can say w confidence, the hamburger is heavenly. When you add cheese and caramelized onion you won’t believe the juiciness and the flavor, like no other, absolutely gourmet.

Wow I'm SO mad... that I didn't try this place sooner! Everything I ordered tastes homemade, I seriously don't know how they do it. I ordered fried chicken dumplings, the general tso chicken with white rice, and the black Phoenix buns. All so good, I wish the Phoenix buns had a little more custard inside though. They also give you a really nice portion and it's a reasonable price. I just wish they had more locations across the US!! 🩵

I am a fan of the Ollie's restaurant on 42nd street and have been there many times over the years. I was in the UWS for appointments and decided to try Ollies to go for lunch. The lunch combo price is fair, and includes a choice of soup or soda. However, I ordered the duck over rice and was somewhat disappointed. The food came with the plastic lid tightly on and very hot. I'm assuming it had been microwaved and then taken immediately to the table. It took a few minutes for me to be able to take the lid off comfortably because of the heat. And then a much longer time for the food to cool down so that I could eat it. Almost half an hour. Then when I did, I found the duck to be very salty. There wasn't much duck either, in proportion to the rice. I would call the service brusque but efficient. The seating area is comfortable for a take out place, so that is nice. And I enjoyed one of the window seats. Not sure I would visit again though.

We were really excited to try Celeste after seeing how busy it always is, but unfortunately left feeling quite disappointed. The wait staff were lovely, attentive, and doing their best in a very crowded environment, so no complaints there at all. However, the overall experience and food quality did not live up to expectations. Before we had even entered and sat down, the owner/manager made sure payment was in cash, which felt a little uncomfortable and set an odd tone from the beginning. The tables are extremely small and packed tightly together, making the space feel cramped and not particularly enjoyable or relaxing. Most disappointing, though, was the food. Our pasta arrived cold, and overall the quality was very average. The pizza size was also underwhelming for the price. We had really hoped to find a great local coal-fired pizza and pasta spot, but unfortunately this wasn’t it for us. Honestly, I felt like I could have made a better pasta dish at home. Sadly, it’s not somewhere we’d return to, but we’ll keep searching for that standout Italian spot in the UWS.

Sunday lunch walk-in and we were seated right away. Place wasn't busy at 1 pm and plenty of tables were open. We got a perfect outdoor seat and placed our order for some delicious salads. They had a brunch menu and the regular menu, which is where we ordered from. Order included Meddo Salad ($13.75), Yesil Salad ($13.75) with Salmon ($10), and Shepherd Salad ($14.75) - which was absolutely delicious. Food took a while to arrive - over 25 mins, but the outdoor seating a nice breeze going on! Service can be a little quicker, but food was fantastic. Will visit again!

Yummy with a capital Y. If I lived in NY this would be my go-to restaurant. We started out with the Mediterranean Tasting Plate which features a little bit of many things, hummus, lebneh, babaganoush, Turkish eggplant with tomatoes and sigara börek which is phyllo filled with cheese and dill. Each bite was better than the last. The blend of the ingredients were spectacular and scrumptious. The Yesil salad was delicious and the Adana kebab, manti (meat filled dumplings) and red lentil soup were equally good. I think my favorite was the eggplant appetizer, Imam Bayildi. Could have eaten another serving. Outstanding. The owner was at the restaurant and stopped by our table to say hello and it was obvious to me by our conversation that he is so passionate about the food that Bodrum serves. If you have been to Bodrum then you know how good the food is. If you haven't been yet, please add to your list of restaurants to visit. Whether an afternoon lunch, romantic dinner or family gathering, you will be sure to enjoy the food and ambience. Looking forward to going back.

A large square-footage diner with a bar counter, an old timey feel, and some good pancakes. A friend and I got two Egg dishes (an Omelette and Eggs), and an order of Chocolate Chip Pancakes, and the cakes were by far the standout. Also didn’t love the house coffee.

Nice little diner at a walking distance from our place and we could get a seat within 5 mins on a Saturday afternoon for 3 of us. Service is typical diner style, quick and effective and our order included a Bloody Mary and a Mimosa, both pretty decent. I got the Veggie Deluxe Burger ($15) and the first few bites felt really decent, but then the burger patties felt really dry. Food overall felt pretty substandard, including the pancakes we ordered for our little one. Service was quick though and noise levels were on the average end. Comfortable booth seating, and fairly huge portions. Might visit again!

Overall, a 10/10 experience! Truly a gem to find after a long day at the museum and brisk walk through Central Park. The food here was amazing! The vegetable samosas, chicken saag, and the chicken tikka masala with the garlic naan was the perfect combination. I really enjoyed the samosa sauces and the spices in each of the chicken dish… the garlic naan was also some of the best I’ve had. The owner was so welcoming and kind, which made the experience even better. Definitely coming back!

On our first trip to New York City, we stumbled across Tanpura Indian Restaurant and it ended up being our favourite spot of the whole trip!! The food was incredibly authentic and full of flavour, with a great variety to choose from, and the service was absolutely amazing.
