Sat at the bar for a burger and a beer. The bartender Victor was very nice and was able to accommodate a special request on my burger which was a fried egg on top... while its not on the menu he made it happen. Had the hazy 5 borough ipa and truffle fries Muah! I had been there before about 10 or so years ago, It was stellar then and stellar now! Sometimes great things don't change...and that's when you know its worth it!

Michelle was absolutely wonderful. She took care of us right away, provided exceptional service throughout, and confidently answered every question we had about the menu. She made the entire experience smooth, welcoming, and enjoyable from start to finish.

Awesome time! Came in for a late night snack and a night cap. Highly recommend the pineapple margarita! To top it all off our server, Eric, was great! Fast, personable, and super attentive. I felt very taken care of. Cant wait to come back!

Friendly and easy going breakfast place with great taste. The service is very friendly, super fast, and very attentive. They ask for coffee refills every 5 mins. Latkes are super tasty. Also a great choice for kids. No wonder why they are popular. We got the famous sturgeon and salmon platter. They were very good. There is plenty of space to sit but a line builds up pretty early in the morning. It is cash only but there is an ATM in CVS across the road or there is a BofA branch 1 block away.

A must visit for New York style bagels! 🥯 Famous for their bagels and for their salmon.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere here! Very busy place but feels like more of a local place than a tourist spot!
My favorite was the salmon lox bagel 🥯 with tomato 🍅 and capers!!
Can be a wait during peak times of day so be prepared to wait.

The restaurant came recommended by a native New Yorker. There was a long line when we arrived and we got a seat after about 40 minutes. The restaurant was jam packed and very lively. We ordered the matzo ball soup, latkes, blintzes, and a plate of eggs, salmon and sturgeon. The matzo ball soup was peppery and could have had more flavour. The matzo ball was good. The latkes were plump but lacked potato taste. We were used to the crispy, thinner latkes. The scrambled eggs, lox and sturgeon that came with a bagel were quite delicious. We found out at the end of the meal that the restaurant only accepts cash. Luckily, we had sufficient cash on us. It is not a cheap meal.

I love this place! Worth the wait (never as long as you think). Such a classic UWS vibe.
Be sure to get something with sturgeon - my fave is the open faced sturgeon sandwich on a Bialy with scallion cream cheese and sliced onion and tomato.

Cash only historical fish spot with a pretty extensive menu. Really good bites and no frills setting.
Got the nova with an everything bagel appetizer as my main and it was honestly the best nova I’ve ever had. Bright, flavorful, but not too fishy. Plenty of cream cheese and extras to dress my bites with. TBH it was so good that it may have ruined all other nova for me.
My husband got the scrambled eggs and sturgeon and he loved it too. Perfect amount of saltiness. The everything bagels were also solid.
Definitely get the potato pancakes, they’re puffy and crispy with plenty of sour cream and applesauce.
It’s pricier than some other spots but for me, the quality of the fish was markedly better which made it worth it to me.

We had an outstanding evening at Deli Kasbah!!
Kasbah has the coolest vibes; with a traditional feel and modern flair.
From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us with genuine hospitality. The kosher menu offers a most delightful menue, each dish tasty, fresh and made with high-quality ingredients.
The steak we had and the onion rings were unbelievable. The mashed potatoes are beyond delicious 😋
They have this awesome program that if you say a Dvar Torah you get a free dessert - its very worth it!!
we liked the hot choclate chip cookie with ice cream. 🍪🍪☕️
The people there are so warm and geshmak making it easy to linger and enjoy excellent conversation.
We left thoroughly satisfied and already planning our next visit.

Very nice place on the upper West side. Tasty soups (tried both chicken soup and Moroccan or Yemenite meat soup), delicious steaks (we liked the Brazilian Ribeye more than the Argentinian filet mignon).
Nice atmosphere, great for a date or a small group with a close warm conversation.

The food was phenomenal! Especially the appetizer! We got babaghanoush with 2 cigars and 2 pitas, and it was mind blowing. The seasoning of the babaghanoush was just perfect. The beef cigars and pitas were also extremely delicious. The outside of the cigars were almost like pastry, a little flaky and mildly crispy. The pita bread was simply excellent. It was freshly baked and steaming hot. The burger was also very delicious, but a bit salty to my taste. The classic rib-eye steak was also well cooked. The meat was very tender and juicy. The grilled vegetables were okay. Good thing the fries were great, too! The service was also very nice. Very laid back and relaxing. Overall, it was a great experience. Can’t wait to come back again!!

Delicious food, and my steak was cooked perfectly! However, our friends order was wrong, and by the time we all finished our food, she then got her correct order and had to eat alone. It was disappointing. Other than that it was a nice dining experience

Had a birthday dinner for my neice. The wait staff was very cordial and attentive. The table setting and atmosphere was nice, music not to my taste but tolerable. The dishes of food was quite a lot and of course sharable. If you compared the price to the average plate every one would have ordered separately somewhere else would of cost about $25 - $35 each however, the bill was not modest at all and the drinks a little pricey as well. Plenty of food but not so delicious. Something different in the sauce. Either my palate has changed or the recipe 🤔. I've been coming here over 10 years either for work gatherings or birthdays. Tonite was underwhelming.

We love this family style old school super popular Italian restaurant! Their eggplant parmigiana is the absolute best, and comes in a huge serving size enough to feed four or more people! Or two with leftovers, which taste even better the next day. We've dined in which is usually crowded-- esp on weekends, but not as crowded as the Times Square location, and also have taken out on many occasions, which has a separate pick up entrance and is super convenient.
Their salads, fried calamari, pasta, pretty much all dishes-- are all fantastic and served in family sized portions-- add pasta for a very small upcharge. Focaccia also delicious.
Their sauce is extremely flavorful with few ingredients and no sugar.

Happy hour review. The food is good and plentiful. Drinks are reasonable. I finally had the opportunity to go to Carmine during their limited happy hour (Monday to Thursdays only 3-5pm and after 9pm). The calamari is as good as I remembered from the early 1990’s when they first opened, although now, the marinara sauce is less garlicky and more cooked. Serving size is perfect for 2 to share. The best deal was the sliders (2 for $5): the foccacia bread was great, the portion large and the extra sauce was a bonus touch. The mussels were good too but the sauce was not (chili) spicy - it also came with 2 whole stewed tomatoes. The house red was a young montepulciano d’abruzzo (2024) served in a drinking style glass (like in Italy). Lunch menu (sandwiches and smaller pasta portions is available all day at the bar. For those with soy allergy: canola oil is used exclusively in the kitchen. But they don’t make the focaccia and the bread they use in the meatballs in house, so ask your server. Looking forward to returning. Feb 2026

Carmine’s UWS location was so beautifully decorated in this wonderful Christmas season. From the moment you walk-in, hostess greets you with a warm smile and managers walk around the dining room to ensure everyone’s needs are met. Our server Juan was extremely friendly, courteous, attentive and made my birthday lunch special. Portions are huge and everything was delicious. The cheesecake was very different than regular New York style cheesecake, which was delightful surprise. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and we were stuffed by the end of the meal. Can’t recommend enough how friendly everyone was and we certainly would love to return to try different items next time. Thank you again for your warm hospitality, Carmine’s UWS team!

Stopped in for my birthday dinner . The restaurant was very crowded I'm happy we made reservations even though we weren't seated on time . The table my family had was very cramped for my family of 8 and if we sneezed too hard we could hit the other party next to us 😩.
For the food it was tasty but not the best. I expected more from carmines . It was extremely busy so I might give it another try to see if it was just a bad night . Everything was family style portioned appropriately and priced well . The drinks weren't that strong but tasted good . They charge a $4 sur charge per person if you bring a birthday cake to cut fyi !! . Happy eating 😋🍽️

French Roast is a delight for food, drink, and atmosphere. We Ate brunch at around 1030 AM. Everything was delicious! The Brioche French Toast was light and sweet and the fruit compote added the perfect amount of tart to the meal. The Shakshuka is delightful and full of spices! The Mezcla sausage tastes great, but be-warned it is spicy! The cappuccino was Great! The tight cozy feel with the vibration from the subway passing beneath gives this restaurant that NYC ambiance that’s second to none. Whether you’re a local or visiting Manhattan for the first time this is a great place to stop and eat!

Came her for Saturday brunch with some friends. The restaurant is styled as a classic French brasserie and had lots of outdoor seating.
The French onion soup and croque madames were perfection. We ate every last bite. Only negative was that one friend had an omelet that wasn’t cooked long enough for the cheese to melt. Overall, the food was delicious. Our server was attentive and friendly. Will definitely be going back to try more!

Such a feel good place. We also
had the nicest waitress, Maria Alejandra. She had the best energy and was so careful to make sure we got exactly what we ordered. Feels like a little European bistro tucked into the upper west side of New York. Perfect place to meet a friend, spend a rainy afternoon or a Sunday morning. Had such a nice time! Food came out fast and was lovely.
Went back again and had the most sincere careful waiter David. He is the nicest person and we had a lovely brunch! Thank you David you are incredible and so warm and wonderful.

I am a fan of the Ollie's restaurant on 42nd street and have been there many times over the years. I was in the UWS for appointments and decided to try Ollies to go for lunch. The lunch combo price is fair, and includes a choice of soup or soda. However, I ordered the duck over rice and was somewhat disappointed.
The food came with the plastic lid tightly on and very hot. I'm assuming it had been microwaved and then taken immediately to the table. It took a few minutes for me to be able to take the lid off comfortably because of the heat. And then a much longer time for the food to cool down so that I could eat it. Almost half an hour. Then when I did, I found the duck to be very salty. There wasn't much duck either, in proportion to the rice.
I would call the service brusque but efficient. The seating area is comfortable for a take out place, so that is nice. And I enjoyed one of the window seats. Not sure I would visit again though.

I was excited to try this place after reading all the reviews but overall it didn't live up to it. We ordered S&S Chicken, Szechuan Beef and a Chicken Fried Rice. All in all it was ok - there was nothing wrong with the food - it just wasn't that tasty. It's worth noting we ordered on delivery, so maybe it doesn't travel well; who knows. We're willing to give it another try as we're new to the area.

Ollie’s to go is my go to. Food is consistently excellent. I find the moo shoo, Hunan Chicken, Soups are really delicious. The lunch special is a terrific deal with soup or soda and a main for 11.95 and you can effectively include anything on the menu. And if you sign up for texts they send you coupons almost every week. Yummy food at very reasonable prices.

It was a Saturday afternoon perfect day for lunch with my family. The vibe was relaxing and the food was astounding. We started with the house salad, simple and perfect. Next was the fried calamari and shrimp. It was lightning floured and seasoned then perfectly fried. So crispy. So much to choose from on the menu. Our entre selections were lasagna, spaghetti and clams, ravioli and gnocchi. Finished with chocolate cake, vanilla Gelato with espresso. I'm so glad we decided to visit. Staff was attentive and friendly. Bring cash!

Cozy, old, warm, and classic atmosphere. They only take cash so come prepared!
The fried calamari were perfect texture, and the calamari and endive salad with warm cherry tomatoes and capers is exactly as fresh and flavorful as they sound. The calamari in the salad was a completely different texture as the fried, and both were wonderful. We also had house-made gnocchi with marinara, which were the perfect texture and warmth, and the fresh basil on top added an easy, calm finish.

Yummy with a capital Y. If I lived in NY this would be my go-to restaurant. We started out with the Mediterranean Tasting Plate which features a little bit of many things, hummus, lebneh, babaganoush, Turkish eggplant with tomatoes and sigara börek which is phyllo filled with cheese and dill. Each bite was better than the last. The blend of the ingredients were spectacular and scrumptious. The Yesil salad was delicious and the Adana kebab, manti (meat filled dumplings) and red lentil soup were equally good. I think my favorite was the eggplant appetizer, Imam Bayildi. Could have eaten another serving. Outstanding. The owner was at the restaurant and stopped by our table to say hello and it was obvious to me by our conversation that he is so passionate about the food that Bodrum serves. If you have been to Bodrum then you know how good the food is. If you haven't been yet, please add to your list of restaurants to visit. Whether an afternoon lunch, romantic dinner or family gathering, you will be sure to enjoy the food and ambience. Looking forward to going back.

A large square-footage diner with a bar counter, an old timey feel, and some good pancakes. A friend and I got two Egg dishes (an Omelette and Eggs), and an order of Chocolate Chip Pancakes, and the cakes were by far the standout. Also didn’t love the house coffee.

Nice little diner at a walking distance from our place and we could get a seat within 5 mins on a Saturday afternoon for 3 of us. Service is typical diner style, quick and effective and our order included a Bloody Mary and a Mimosa, both pretty decent.
I got the Veggie Deluxe Burger ($15) and the first few bites felt really decent, but then the burger patties felt really dry. Food overall felt pretty substandard, including the pancakes we ordered for our little one.
Service was quick though and noise levels were on the average end. Comfortable booth seating, and fairly huge portions. Might visit again!

Overall, a 10/10 experience! Truly a gem to find after a long day at the museum and brisk walk through Central Park.
The food here was amazing! The vegetable samosas, chicken saag, and the chicken tikka masala with the garlic naan was the perfect combination. I really enjoyed the samosa sauces and the spices in each of the chicken dish… the garlic naan was also some of the best I’ve had.
The owner was so welcoming and kind, which made the experience even better. Definitely coming back!

I live 1 block away & get to enjoy Indian Tanpura's food whenever I want! Pictured are the vegetable samosas (2 per order), Saag Paneer, garlic naan & aloo paratha, and Chicken Kashmir.
Every time we order we get the samosa: absolutely excellent with the sauces & garlic. Saag Paneer is a standout too, that's part of most of our orders. We've tried almost all of the curried dishes, and others like Rogan Josh, lamb moglai and have enjoyed them all. Proceed with caution on the vindaloo, one of the spiciest I've had!
The staff is warm & welcoming, vibe inside is calm & classic. Highly recommend!

Such a wonderful neighborhood gem. The food is delicious, but the highlight for me is certainly the hospitality. The atmosphere is welcoming, with design that feels cozy but not overbearing. It is clear that the main waiter takes pride in welcoming you to his space. From suggestions on what to eat, to replacing silverware and filling water, he evokes the care that is hard to find in today’s fast paced restaurant scene. Can’t wait to go back.

This fantastic restaurant was recommended to us by a local in a nearby coffee shop. We were the only ones in the restaurant but we had a great time. The papadam that was served before the meal came with three chutneys, the onion was my favorite. For entrees we got the chicken tikka masala and the lamb korai which is a specialty of theirs. Both dishes were extremely flavorful and left us wanting more. The garlic naan that we ordered was the best we have ever had, baked perfectly and seasoned well. Overall we had one of our best meals in New York here and would recommend it to anyone looking for great Indian in the area.

Amazing food, staff & service! I’ve been coming here for years & they are my favorite Indian food in the area. Recently someone mistakenly took my takeout order & the kind owner re-made it on the spot. They provided me tea while I waited and gave some extra rice pudding. Wonderfully generous. Highly recommend stopping in, their space is incredibly warm & inviting!
