Sat at the bar for a burger and a beer. The bartender Victor was very nice and was able to accommodate a special request on my burger which was a fried egg on top... while its not on the menu he made it happen. Had the hazy 5 borough ipa and truffle fries Muah! I had been there before about 10 or so years ago, It was stellar then and stellar now! Sometimes great things don't change...and that's when you know its worth it!

Delicious food, as it always is here, and genuinely lovely, friendly service. So nice to sit outside on a perfect summer evening. Great that they offer sandwiches on the dinner menu - so many places don't! Had a delicious cod sandwich and an ice cold IPA served with an ice cold glass. And they weren't annoyed that we brought our ancient dig in her stroller. Just great all around

I tried the Hell’s Kitchen location last time, so I thought I’d go to the Upper West Side this time. Happy Hour is the name of the game here, the prices are killer! $60 for a burger, rings, wings, and 2 martinis. I tried the signature burger this time, it’s kinda French with Gruyère cheese and grilled onions, excellent. I couldn’t resist repeating the tower of onion rings (half price at HH). Switched the wings to Buffalo style this time - I liked the Korean style better honestly but these were very good. And the martini was so nice that I ordered a second one 🤗. 5 Napkin Burger is becoming my go-to happy hour destination!

Staff all don white coats while serving delicious deli favorites. A New York staple that keeps it as real as it gets. Fresh fish and deli meats served at a cash only establishment. It gives that NYC nostalgic feel fans crave when trekking from borough to borough. The bagel with lox is outstanding and the staff will refill your coffee as frequently as the 1 Train passes through the city. Limited hours at this landmark so wake up early and enjoy some authentic breakfast in the city that never sleeps.

Beautiful restaurant in Manhattan, very mystical and typical of the block ! The food was DELICIOUS and feeds very well maybe too much because I wanted to try everything !!! Very quick service and welcome. The ambiance inside is so cozy and social ! Great experience Small issue: when we wanted to pay the waiter made a mistake on our check (+31$)and it didn’t feel accidental … but he apologized so no worries but still suspicious haha.

A must visit for New York style bagels! 🥯 Famous for their bagels and for their salmon. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here! Very busy place but feels like more of a local place than a tourist spot! My favorite was the salmon lox bagel 🥯 with tomato 🍅 and capers!! Can be a wait during peak times of day so be prepared to wait.

A very well known Jewish deli that offers all of the Ashkenazi Jewish food staples. We were a couple that came here for breakfast, not too early on a weekday, and we immediately were seated without even having to wait in line which was quite surprising. We had the cheese omelette with horseradish cheddar with a side of nova scotia salmon, their famous latkes (served with a side of sour cream & applesauce) and an everything bagel with a side of scallion cream cheese. Everything was very delicious, but the most surprising of them all was definitely the latkes, so if you plan on eating here, make sure to not miss out on this one! The place itself is quite small, and although they have seating option both inside the shop and outside of it, the tables are quite small and cramped, so I wouldn't recommend it for larger groups, probably 4 people max.

The restaurant came recommended by a native New Yorker. There was a long line when we arrived and we got a seat after about 40 minutes. The restaurant was jam packed and very lively. We ordered the matzo ball soup, latkes, blintzes, and a plate of eggs, salmon and sturgeon. The matzo ball soup was peppery and could have had more flavour. The matzo ball was good. The latkes were plump but lacked potato taste. We were used to the crispy, thinner latkes. The scrambled eggs, lox and sturgeon that came with a bagel were quite delicious. We found out at the end of the meal that the restaurant only accepts cash. Luckily, we had sufficient cash on us. It is not a cheap meal.

Great food and friendly service. We recently had an expensive, but overcooked, order sent back and redone, not a problem at all! Steaks are delicious.... I recommend the Brazilian and if you like a saucy steak, the Johnnie Walker. Yum!! Everyone is always so nice. Has a bit of a rustic, casual vibe and is a good choice for a special night out. It's BYOB here so if you want to bring a bottle or some beer, do check with the staff first for what's acceptable.

The food was phenomenal! Especially the appetizer! We got babaghanoush with 2 cigars and 2 pitas, and it was mind blowing. The seasoning of the babaghanoush was just perfect. The beef cigars and pitas were also extremely delicious. The outside of the cigars were almost like pastry, a little flaky and mildly crispy. The pita bread was simply excellent. It was freshly baked and steaming hot. The burger was also very delicious, but a bit salty to my taste. The classic rib-eye steak was also well cooked. The meat was very tender and juicy. The grilled vegetables were okay. Good thing the fries were great, too! The service was also very nice. Very laid back and relaxing. Overall, it was a great experience. Can’t wait to come back again!!

We had an outstanding evening at Deli Kasbah!! Kasbah has the coolest vibes; with a traditional feel and modern flair. From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us with genuine hospitality. The kosher menu offers a most delightful menue, each dish tasty, fresh and made with high-quality ingredients. The steak we had and the onion rings were unbelievable. The mashed potatoes are beyond delicious 😋 They have this awesome program that if you say a Dvar Torah you get a free dessert - its very worth it!! we liked the hot choclate chip cookie with ice cream. 🍪🍪☕️ The people there are so warm and geshmak making it easy to linger and enjoy excellent conversation. We left thoroughly satisfied and already planning our next visit.

I ordered the junior burger with fries and the Moroccan beef soup. Let me tell you something : I was not prepared. I have studied the Tree of Life. I understand that Ein Sof is the infinite, boundless light beyond all comprehension. I thought I understood transcendence. Then I bit into this burger. Whatever vessel I was using to contain my excitement immediately shattered. Full Shevirat HaKelim. My kli could not handle the divine overflow of flavor coming from this patty. The tzimtzum that occurred in my stomach to make room for this burger was cosmic in scale. The Moroccan beef soup? That is Chokhmah in a bowl. Pure primordial wisdom. No explanation, no warning... it just hits you and suddenly you understand things you didn't before. I am convinced the chef has direct access to the Ohr Ein Sof and is channeling it exclusively through beef. This is not cooking. This is a tikkun. Every bite is repairing something broken in the universe. May Hashem shower these people with endless blessings, may their parnassah flow like light through all Ten Sefirot, and may their burger recipe be sealed in the Book of Life permanently. Ten out of ten. I ascended and I am not coming back. Come hungry. Leave elevated.

Had a birthday dinner for my neice. The wait staff was very cordial and attentive. The table setting and atmosphere was nice, music not to my taste but tolerable. The dishes of food was quite a lot and of course sharable. If you compared the price to the average plate every one would have ordered separately somewhere else would of cost about $25 - $35 each however, the bill was not modest at all and the drinks a little pricey as well. Plenty of food but not so delicious. Something different in the sauce. Either my palate has changed or the recipe 🤔. I've been coming here over 10 years either for work gatherings or birthdays. Tonite was underwhelming.

Carmine’s UWS location was so beautifully decorated in this wonderful Christmas season. From the moment you walk-in, hostess greets you with a warm smile and managers walk around the dining room to ensure everyone’s needs are met. Our server Juan was extremely friendly, courteous, attentive and made my birthday lunch special. Portions are huge and everything was delicious. The cheesecake was very different than regular New York style cheesecake, which was delightful surprise. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and we were stuffed by the end of the meal. Can’t recommend enough how friendly everyone was and we certainly would love to return to try different items next time. Thank you again for your warm hospitality, Carmine’s UWS team!

Great food everytime. Been coming here for years. Went back to celebrate my birthday. Chicken wings are so good the house made blue cheese is amazing. Calamari is a table must! And we always get the shrimp parmigian! The shrimp so big! And don’t forget the bread and oil!

Even though the restaurant was very busy and full of families celebrating the holiday, the atmosphere felt warm, lively, and welcoming. Having a reservation made everything smooth — we were seated quickly and didn’t feel rushed at all, despite the crowd. The food was delicious and came in the classic Carmine’s family-style portions, perfect for sharing. Everything we ordered was well prepared, flavorful, and served fresh. It ended up being a really enjoyable Thanksgiving lunch, even outside the traditional setting. The location is also excellent, just a short walk from Central Park, which makes the whole visit even nicer. Overall, Carmine’s delivered exactly what we hoped for: great food, friendly service, and a festive atmosphere on a special day. I’d definitely come back!

Such a cozy place to dine in or out! I ate my arugula salad before any pics it was a 10. The restaurant is casual; a cozy Parisian spot on the upper west side of town. Family friendly too. From previous dinners there, i can say w confidence, the hamburger is heavenly. When you add cheese and caramelized onion you won’t believe the juiciness and the flavor, like no other, absolutely gourmet.

I had an amazing experience at French Toast in New York! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The restaurant is clean, cozy, and perfect for brunch with friends or family. The food was absolutely delicious. The French toast was perfectly cooked—soft on the inside, slightly crisp on the outside, and full of flavor. Every bite tasted fresh and homemade. The presentation was beautiful, and the portions were generous. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. First I have to mention that the service was impeccable from the moment we walked in! Our server Lena took care of us and gave us recommendations! We came in for happy hour and started with a couple of drinks and small plates (mussels, potato skins, and cheese plate). All were excellent! We had Coq au Vin and Cassoulet as our entrees. They both hit the spot and provided a level of warmth on a cold autumn night! We cannot wait to return to try the rest of the menu with service so welcoming and outstanding!

I am a fan of the Ollie's restaurant on 42nd street and have been there many times over the years. I was in the UWS for appointments and decided to try Ollies to go for lunch. The lunch combo price is fair, and includes a choice of soup or soda. However, I ordered the duck over rice and was somewhat disappointed. The food came with the plastic lid tightly on and very hot. I'm assuming it had been microwaved and then taken immediately to the table. It took a few minutes for me to be able to take the lid off comfortably because of the heat. And then a much longer time for the food to cool down so that I could eat it. Almost half an hour. Then when I did, I found the duck to be very salty. There wasn't much duck either, in proportion to the rice. I would call the service brusque but efficient. The seating area is comfortable for a take out place, so that is nice. And I enjoyed one of the window seats. Not sure I would visit again though.

Ollie’s UWS is a mostly take out Chinese food eatery. My take-out experience was superb. I ordered online and the food was ready for me when they said it would be. I merely picked up my order and left. The food was delicious, as always.

I was excited to try this place after reading all the reviews but overall it didn't live up to it. We ordered S&S Chicken, Szechuan Beef and a Chicken Fried Rice. All in all it was ok - there was nothing wrong with the food - it just wasn't that tasty. It's worth noting we ordered on delivery, so maybe it doesn't travel well; who knows. We're willing to give it another try as we're new to the area.

Used to love Ollie’s on uws. Last year plus, maybe chef changed. Had some hard pieces of chicken with broccoli dish, egg drop so full of starch and almost no egg, four times orders dishes with pork & had to be spit out and was awful. Dumplings still good but very disappointed. Trying other places after ordering for many years.

Everything we had was excellent. Fresh ingredients that seemed like they came from a family recipe. Halibut was prepared perfectly and the lasagne bolognese was the best I've tasted. Sauces were done just right.

This restaurant is OMG😋😋 The food is amazing.. and Roberto the waiter his amazing too. He went above and beyond👠👠 Celeste on the Upper West Side is such a cozy and authentic spot with amazing Italian food and a warm atmosphere. Everything we ordered was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. What really made the experience special was the outstanding service from Roberto — he was attentive, friendly, and made us feel so welcome from start to finish. You can tell he truly cares about the guests having a great experience. Highly recommend this neighborhood gem!

Sunday lunch walk-in and we were seated right away. Place wasn't busy at 1 pm and plenty of tables were open. We got a perfect outdoor seat and placed our order for some delicious salads. They had a brunch menu and the regular menu, which is where we ordered from. Order included Meddo Salad ($13.75), Yesil Salad ($13.75) with Salmon ($10), and Shepherd Salad ($14.75) - which was absolutely delicious. Food took a while to arrive - over 25 mins, but the outdoor seating a nice breeze going on! Service can be a little quicker, but food was fantastic. Will visit again!

No notes, one of the MOST delicious meal I've had in NYC yet + for two with appetizer, meal, and dessert less than $100. Definitely more Turkish leaning dishes but so delicious. Recommend the rice pudding dessert as well. Perfect for a date night or group dinner

I thought the food was good. The crispy calamari and labne starters were both delicious and generously portioned. My Moroccan fish tagine main course was also delicious, including the Turkish rice that accompanied it. Service overall was great (5 ⭐️). Overall a 4 ⭐️ seems most appropriate.

Yummy with a capital Y. If I lived in NY this would be my go-to restaurant. We started out with the Mediterranean Tasting Plate which features a little bit of many things, hummus, lebneh, babaganoush, Turkish eggplant with tomatoes and sigara börek which is phyllo filled with cheese and dill. Each bite was better than the last. The blend of the ingredients were spectacular and scrumptious. The Yesil salad was delicious and the Adana kebab, manti (meat filled dumplings) and red lentil soup were equally good. I think my favorite was the eggplant appetizer, Imam Bayildi. Could have eaten another serving. Outstanding. The owner was at the restaurant and stopped by our table to say hello and it was obvious to me by our conversation that he is so passionate about the food that Bodrum serves. If you have been to Bodrum then you know how good the food is. If you haven't been yet, please add to your list of restaurants to visit. Whether an afternoon lunch, romantic dinner or family gathering, you will be sure to enjoy the food and ambience. Looking forward to going back.

A large square-footage diner with a bar counter, an old timey feel, and some good pancakes. A friend and I got two Egg dishes (an Omelette and Eggs), and an order of Chocolate Chip Pancakes, and the cakes were by far the standout. Also didn’t love the house coffee.

Food is either enough for two or barely enough for one, but always tasty. If it's not too busy (e.g. weekends), staff is always attentive and your glass or cup of coffee never empty. Also, really friendly. Nice interior and great menu, though a bit pricey for some stuff. From breakfast to fully-fledged dinner, food for everyone. Vegan stuff as well. Though, you can't sit there and work with a laptop, which is understandable when there are many customers. Will come back!

Nice little diner at a walking distance from our place and we could get a seat within 5 mins on a Saturday afternoon for 3 of us. Service is typical diner style, quick and effective and our order included a Bloody Mary and a Mimosa, both pretty decent. I got the Veggie Deluxe Burger ($15) and the first few bites felt really decent, but then the burger patties felt really dry. Food overall felt pretty substandard, including the pancakes we ordered for our little one. Service was quick though and noise levels were on the average end. Comfortable booth seating, and fairly huge portions. Might visit again!

Overall, a 10/10 experience! Truly a gem to find after a long day at the museum and brisk walk through Central Park. The food here was amazing! The vegetable samosas, chicken saag, and the chicken tikka masala with the garlic naan was the perfect combination. I really enjoyed the samosa sauces and the spices in each of the chicken dish… the garlic naan was also some of the best I’ve had. The owner was so welcoming and kind, which made the experience even better. Definitely coming back!

I live 1 block away & get to enjoy Indian Tanpura's food whenever I want! Pictured are the vegetable samosas (2 per order), Saag Paneer, garlic naan & aloo paratha, and Chicken Kashmir. Every time we order we get the samosa: absolutely excellent with the sauces & garlic. Saag Paneer is a standout too, that's part of most of our orders. We've tried almost all of the curried dishes, and others like Rogan Josh, lamb moglai and have enjoyed them all. Proceed with caution on the vindaloo, one of the spiciest I've had! The staff is warm & welcoming, vibe inside is calm & classic. Highly recommend!

On our first trip to New York City, we stumbled across Tanpura Indian Restaurant and it ended up being our favourite spot of the whole trip!! The food was incredibly authentic and full of flavour, with a great variety to choose from, and the service was absolutely amazing. Such a warm and welcoming experience :) we’ll definitely be back next time! Definitely recommend the shrimp vadaloo and the chicken makhani

The food is amazing and the place itself is very cozy. Honestly can’t think of anything negative about this place, even the prices are amazing!

This fantastic restaurant was recommended to us by a local in a nearby coffee shop. We were the only ones in the restaurant but we had a great time. The papadam that was served before the meal came with three chutneys, the onion was my favorite. For entrees we got the chicken tikka masala and the lamb korai which is a specialty of theirs. Both dishes were extremely flavorful and left us wanting more. The garlic naan that we ordered was the best we have ever had, baked perfectly and seasoned well. Overall we had one of our best meals in New York here and would recommend it to anyone looking for great Indian in the area.
