friendly service the Spanish waiter and her daughter made my day ❤️.
Le Pain Quotidien at the intersection of West Broadway and Warren Street stands out as a refined retreat in the civic core of Lower Manhattan. Just one block from City Hall Park, the NYC Municipal Building, and the New York City Council chambers, it sits at the nexus of government, commerce, and community life. The café is steps away from major subway lines, including the 1, 2, 3, A, C, E, R, and W trains, making it one of the most conveniently located spots for downtown meetings, coffee breaks, or focused work sessions.
The space offers more than proximity—it delivers atmosphere. The scent of freshly baked croissants, tarts, and espresso greets you before you reach the door. Inside, warm wood tones and natural lighting soften the city’s intensity, creating a setting that balances utility and comfort. It’s a known haunt of local officials and city staff, many of whom stop in for a quick espresso or a quiet moment between sessions.
During a recent visit with my service dog Brooklyn Meeko, I was welcomed by Juana and the team with their usual grace and precision. Juana’s espresso remains unmatched—deeply aromatic, technically clean, and served with care. The pastries are textbook-perfect: croissants with a crisp shell and tender interior, tarts layered with balanced acidity and sweetness.
This café functions as both a public refuge and a civic lounge—where elected officials, neighborhood regulars, and visitors coexist over expertly crafted food and drink.
10:54 PM hanging out with my friend Meeko the Bernadoodle he is a 2 year old male, who loves to say hello to pretty girls. I’m getting an espresso maybe avo toast for brunch. Then we will pick up woody the Catahoula Male 7 year old. From there we will probably be going to the dog pool at Sirius
Back with Woody Juana is not here 🥺

The staff were incredibly friendly and efficient, making me feel welcome right away. I ordered a matcha latte with almond milk and an avocado toast. The avocado was wonderfully fresh, though the bread was a bit on the stiff side. On the other hand, the croissants were fresh, flaky, and absolutely delicious. Overall, it was a great experience.

Easy go to place for brunch. Food is always good. I’m not into the big bowls for coffee though. Love the Dutch pancakes!

My husband and I love turkey burgers (which are not that easy to come by in restaurants). The turkey burgers here are out of this world! So packed full of fresh herbs and garlic. Occasionally my husband gets the chicken sandwich and he says it is really good, too.
We always receive fantastic service and food at Mudville. We really enjoy having Camilla as our server & the manager (I believe, Brian) spent several minutes at our table making sure everything was great (plus other "food talk").
Mudville is our kind of neighborhood bar!

Came in during trip visiting friends. Ratings may have given us high expectations. It’s average at best. Drinks were overpriced and food just standard pub quality. Constant upselling was a turn off but service was good.

Returned for lunch after a long absence. Had the steak sandwich and Jerk Chicken Wings along with a Greenport beer. The guys I went with had a spicy chicken sandwich and a burger. The burgers and sandwiches come bare so we ordered a side of cheese fries to share. We all agreed that the wings and fries were fantastic and the sandwiches & burgers were great. Caught up with a little Euro cup while we ate. Very positive experience.

Very disappointing experience, both food and service.
I came in with high expectations based on reviews, but the reality didn’t match at all.
I ordered the steak and fries: the skirt steak was over-seasoned to the point of masking the meat’s flavor, and the cooking was way off. I asked for medium rare, got something close to well done, with no sear/no Maillard reaction, the steak felt almost boiled.
The Caesar salad was just sad: plain lettuce with some parmesan, nothing more, for $19. That’s the same price as a pepperoni pizza or chicken sandwich, and $2 more than short rib sliders but felt like a bland side, not a real dish.
I’m not even upset about the prices, cuz I understand NYC is expensive, and I work in the industry but when the food lacks care, that’s where the real problem is.
What made things worse was the service. Our server checked on us literally 10 seconds after the food arrived, while I was still cutting the steak. The overall vibe felt like forced friendliness aimed at the tip, not genuine hospitality.
We politely shared our feedback with the manager, who barely reacted with a flat “I’ll let them know.”
Then, when paying, both the server and manager were hovering around us to see how much we’d tip and we even overheard the manager whispering to the server about it as we walked out.
I did leave a tip out of respect for the kitchen staff, but overall, the experience was far from what it should have been.
A restaurant’s reputation is built not only on food, but on how customers feel when they walk out the door.

HUGE shoutout to the manager for helping us out and getting us in last minute right before a Knicks playoff for a table of 12!!! Service was great, very attentive. The food was pub food , yummy and everyone was full by the end. Great beer selection. Can’t recommend enough for the service alone.

No complaints here. Been going here on a weekly basis for many months. The staff is always super friendly and knows me. The food is always great, no good or bad days, always consistently great. I recommend. Plus their lunch boxes are great for the price.

They are great for what they are. Service is quick and attentive. Perfectly cooked rice, veggies and chicken. They have lunch specials but Spacing gets a bit cramped during lunch hours.

This is surprisingly affordable and fresh sushi. I should say we ordered vegan dishes for all eight of us, so I cannot comment on the sashimi or other sushi that there are other mixed reviews on. We enjoy the miso, avocado cucumber and sweet potato tempura rolls. The food was delivered quickly too! If you have a big family to feed and want to have sushi, this is a great option for vegans/vegetarians.

The quality is amazing for the price you are paying. Portion is good. Love the employees working there. The place is like a hidden gem small and cozy. Highly recommend coming here if you’re in the area. They are good ppl.

The sushi is very good and the service is fast and friendly. It is packed inside. The other dishes like chicken and white rice are also good. The sushi rolls and miso soup are very good and better than nearby places especially for the price. The rolls are better than Whole Foods and about the same price.

Hishi, my server, was so kind and accommodating! The food was a 10 out of 10— full of flavor! I had vegetable samosas, goat curry, and paratha. My favorite Indian Restaurant by far🙌🏾.

We came in for an evening tea and were pleased with the quality of Chai. Saffron Cardamom Chai was absolutely amazing. Together with some Bhel Puri and Veg Samosa, couldn’t ask for a better evening snack in downtown Manhattan near the Brooklyn Bridge.
There’s no guest restroom in here though.

The restaurant looks small. But goes for the saying Don’t judge a book by its cover. Me and my parents went there for a late lunch almost 4pm. They had both veg and non veg buffet. We ordered separately. Roti, dal tadka, veg Hakka noodles and an chai. Everything taste so delicious. The attendant was very courteous, and polite. I recommend this place.

Best Nutella pizza I ever tried before! I had the opportunity to try several appetizers and they were also outstanding: coconut shrimp, whipped ricotta, antipasto swekers😍, mini calzone is 10/10, don’t miss out the cannolis and the cheese cake 😋 they offered me my favs cocktails; lychee martini, expresso martini and aperol without expecting it. Exceptional manager and waitress, made my family feel like home (my moms favorite was the chicken taco, that was delicious innovation)😁
Definitely will to come back soon! I noticed they are doing catering and private events now, I great idea to keep in mind for my future gatherings😋

Food was okay and we got our orders fairly quickly. I would say the server gave a non-friendly vibe with our group but then we saw how he interacted with another patron and we were like oh I guess he doesn't like us lol. The chicken on my penne was a little dry. Pizza was freshly made. Overall service was just mediocre, nothing special to make us come back.

We visited this wonderful place and were absolutely delighted! We ordered homemade lemonade, pizza, and dessert — everything was just perfect! The pizza, baked in a wood-fired oven, was especially good: thin crust, an amazing garlic sauce as the base, and fresh ingredients. The lemonade was refreshing, and the dessert was the sweet finishing touch to the evening. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back again!

This is a solid little restaurant for good fire grilled pizza in Manhattan!! The smaller pizza is 6 slices and the larger one is 8 slices. Crust is thin and crunchy. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and a Hawaiian. Both were delicious! Air conditioned inside. Bathrooms available. No changing station for little ones - just FYI. Great find!

New Yorker here born & raised. Queens to be exact. This spot is hands down my favorite pizza right now. I honestly haven’t had a slice this good since I was a little girl. I only wish my Papa was still here to be able to enjoy a slice from here w/ me. Nonetheless, my loved ones are all getting a slice from here.
The dough the sauce the fast service classic & delicious NYC pizza.
I suggest this spot for a delicious slice of pizza (OR PIES🙃🤤😍) to anyone who loves good food…or snack. I do not judge! Get here early as possible cause it does get real busy. Like line out the door busy. If you got the time it’s def worth the wait.
Enjoy! & thank you. Little Italy pizza!! Please don’t ever change.
Sincerely,
A hardworking New Yorker 🩵

Saw this on Here Be Bar on YouTube. We were in the area, so we went to check it out. Food was blah. Crust was flavorless. Wasn't very clean. Owner was kinda rude. There are much nicer places for pizza in the city.
BlueBox Media - 9 months ago
This pizza was quite delicious. It was thin and very soft at the crust. The bottom had kind of a rough feeling, which is different for pizza, but I actually enjoyed it. The sauce was not overpowering and it was just right for a pizza party. Of course this is Manhattan so it is a bit overpriced, but it is good for the pizza place. The service was quick and we were able to get the boxes of pizzas as soon as we came in.

Great dining experience, friendly staff, good food. It is at a good location, to have lunch after spending day at one world observatory and 9/11 memorial museum. Their portion sizes were good too.

We had an amazing experience working with Benares for catering on our film shoot. They helped us organize food for a 30-person crew, and everyone was thrilled with the delicious spread.
We served butter chicken, white rice, and vegetable samosas—everything was flavorful, comforting, and super satisfying.
The staff was incredibly kind, responsive, and accommodating throughout the process.
Highly recommend Benares for any event catering or to dine in! Great food, great people, great experience!

Absolutely delicious Indian and Southeast Asian Cuisine! The butter chicken is moist and flavorful. The samosas have a flaky yet tender crust with a fresh and well seasoned potatoes & peas filling. The garlic naan is so fragrant and soft, the perfect vehicle to dip in the butter chicken. Oh and their sauces are freshly made and among the best we have tasted. Don’t forget their mango lassi, it’s a winner every time.

Absolutely wonderful experience! The service here is warm, attentive, and personal — they truly make you feel cared for. Every dish bursts with outstanding flavors, and you can taste the high quality in every bite. It’s easily some of the best Indian food I’ve had.
If I could add one tiny wish, it would be to see a favorite candle on the table to make the already cozy atmosphere even more inviting. But honestly, everything else was perfect. Super clean. Great date or family spot. The personal service and incredible food set this place apart. Highly recommended!
(Thank you for the rice pudding!!:)

Went for my 25th birthday dinner and though it was a Friday night, they weren't too busy. The service was attentive, thoughtful, and honestly just a very pleasant time—not to mention the incredible food. Spicy, well-balanced, and probably some of the best Indian food I've had in the city. Definitely the best Chicken 65 I've ever had in my life. Also ordered a cocktail and the tropical flavors paired perfectly with the cuisine. Will be back, and I recommend you go, too.

Went here to try the mama's meatball sandwich. It was good, but the bread isn't baked on premises and just can't compare to many other competing sandwich shops. There is a good selection of soups, I tried the chili and it was delicious, better than the sandwich.
Sadly, the employees here not only look like they don't want to be there, but they looked like they didn't want me to be there either. So I'll never be back.

I fell in love with the Mediterranean sandwich. it's so flavourful. Sometimes, I add chicken, but it's good as it is. The price is about the same as everything else in the area $12-$16 a sandwich. There is a seating area. They have pick-up options, which i usually prefer. My only issue is had was that one time they served me a Mediterranean sandwich with icy cold vegetables. My teeth were not happy to bite into ice. I told the casher, and they gave me another Mediterranean sandwich. But the vegetables were still cold. I eventually removed the vegetables from the sandwich.
