Come schlep to Coney Island so you can eat your hot dogs at the location where competitors guzzle endless dogs every July 4th. Stand in their shadows as you sample the seafood, hot dogs, and burgers offered at this Nathan’s.
There’s seating beside the building should you prefer to consume your processed meats with some shade.

The hot dogs were good but they didn't taste all that different from their store bought Nathan's hot dogs and the cookie was okay but not that good. The hot dog wasn't worth the price in my opinion but it was a nice Novelty. And they do have pretty good mustard and normal ketchup at the place with outdoor seating next to the amusement park.

One needs to experience this Nathan's location at least once in their lifetime. We lucked out and visited during a $0.05 hotdog day. They only charged us for the chili and cheese.
While delicious, I wouldn't order the cheese-filled tots as they take quite a while to prepare apparently. We arrived at 11am and found plenty of seating and a short line.
Overall great experience.

I'm pretty thrilled to be adding Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs in Coney Island to my review list. The Hot Dogs were great and had some good snap to them. The chili dog was especially good and the Saurkraut dog did not disappoint. The "regular" size drink cost $4.99 which was a bit expensive and the hot dogs were $6 to $7 each. I would say it was a fair price to pay for a novelty experience.

After walking past this place many times on many trips I finally gave it a try back in February!!! Was pleasantly surprised! I got 2 hotdogs with onions and kraut, the hotdogs were better than the store bought ones….the casings weren’t as chewy and the toppings were flavorful. I also got lobster bisque…. Which I was very hesitant to order from a hotdog joint but I did and it was great! The atmosphere is what’s expected for a hotdog joint surrounded by amusements but was still ok, the staff was friendly as well…. I would come here again only if I’m out on Coney Island…. It’s a long trip out there by subway from Flushing!

We had just arrived in town and needed a nice meal. Wow, did we hit the jackpot! Greeted at the door by the owner, atmosphere was gorgeous yet comfortable, food was amazing, Emilio, our server, was not only professional, but friendly, and made our dining experience that much more special. Very reasonably priced for this quality of food and level of service. On the way out we spoke to George, the bartender, I can’t wait to come back and try one of his espresso martinis! Thank you!

Woooow such an amazing experience! Stepping into this restaurant was like going back in time 60 years to a bygone era of the godfather and goodfellas. Tuxedo clad waiters and a dress code with classy 1960s era of fine dining was such a cool experience. Our waiter Jerry was soooo classy, funny, and friendly! He was able to explain everything in the menu with detail and gave us awesome recommendations.
The food was spectacular 60s era Italian dining with baked clams, veal Parmesan, and an absolutely massive seafood pasta platter that they served on still in the pan.
Absolutely spectacular gargiulo’s is a must visit when you come to Coney Island, grazie mille!

Totonno’s is a classic. It used to be better back in the early 90s, but maybe my taste buds have changed. The last time I ate there was just before Covid. I think the sauce used to have a bit more zing or something, I recall it lost its luster.
I read in a NY Times article that this place is now for sale. That’s probably for the best. Keep the coal oven running if it’s grandfathered in. It would be a shame to extinguish it.
I’ve always eaten here when it had indoor dining, so that’s why I gave it 4 ⭐️. That being said, I wouldn’t take the train out now just to be told I had to sit on a curb to eat my pizza. (That’s for rubes or pizza nerds, of which I am neither.)
Bob - 2 weeks ago
You have to go inside and order your whole pie, pay and provide your phone number. They will call you when the pie is ready for pickup. No eating inside so you can take your pie out and eat on the curb, like we did …
I have to say that one pie is great for 2 people and the dough is exceptional.

Worth the hour and half subway ride from midtown! 10/10 pie and 10/10 service. Unfortunately doesn’t seem like they’re doing dine-in at the moment but we got a takeaway pie and loved every single bite! Family owned business, and all the workers are so lovely

Incredible! Real New York pizza in fact the best! Totonno's has been in Coney Island for 100 years! This establishment is a landmark and beautiful historical part of Brooklyn. You have to order in advance and no inside dinning but trust me you will never forget why NYC has the best pizza in America after you have had Totonno's!

"If you watched a show, like I did—‘Somebody Feed Phil’ on Netflix—and you wanted to experience it firsthand, prompting you to visit this place, you made a ‘glamorous mistake.’ At first, I felt angry and then very disappointed, but as the place grew on me, I started to feel the ambiance, almost as if I were looking at a painting.
It was no longer about the food; it was about experiencing what we always run away from. No matter how great you were, time can change everything. The glamorous people you see on TV could be sitting in a broken booth, taking orders, and getting frustrated with every ring of the phone.
The place is a wreck; it’s not for food, it’s just another roadside eating joint. You can’t sit inside and eat; if you’re not local, I wouldn’t recommend going there at all. I took an Uber to this place at four times the cost of the food and had to stand outside to eat this pizza.
If you love to see a part of history, go there. If you have an arrogant boss or colleague, take them there; show them that power and greatness don’t last forever."

The food was was delicious and flavorful. I had a spicy burger with sweet potato fries dipped in 🍯 honey, big onion rings that were so tasty 😋. The portions were to much to eat that I had to bring the rest home... Hope to go back when the day is not so crazy, our waiter was all over the place, but he kept apologizing for the long wait on food... the wait was worth it!

Went there for late lunch with family after hanging out at the beach. Got inside right away because it was not that busy. Food was great, staff were attentive and friendly. Drinks were good. Very satisfied with everything except one small thing, they need to turn on the AC a bit cooler during the hot days 🤣.

This is a prime location. Upon entering the restaurant, it has a nice vibe. The music is cool. As far as service, that was good. The drinks were so yummy. I had the Tiramisu Martini. That was delicious! The food wasn't quality. The Caesar Salad was okay. The chicken was dry and bland. The Jalapeño Poppers were average. The only nice touch was the aged cheese. Will I come here again? Only for a drink.

We there for a reunion, the place is a decent size for a event, it also has out door seating. It's in a very busy area in Coney Island, but plenty to do and eat in walking distance.

This has to be the worst Popeyes experience I have ever had. There was vomit on the seats in the restaurant, a customer was openly vaping at a booth while they waited for their food, the wait was insane and the food itself was a disaster. The red beans and rice was not fully cooked, the sauce content on the chicken was laughable and the "wings" were not even wings as there was no bone in the chicken which I asked for. Also, I am quite sure that there was only one guy working both stations (register and food). If that is the case then I don't blame him, there is only so much one guy can do. But honestly that is the manager's fault for not hiring enough staff. The overall experience was not worth the $25 that I paid for the order.
I normally have a decent experience at this place so I am quite surprised that the quality has gone down so much. I hope this changes really soon. Otherwise, I am never coming back to this location.

This IHOP in Coney Island is a great restaurant that features good quality food and great service. The prices are not unreasonable for New York City and the vibes feel very classic American Breakfast. The menu has a large variety of food from burgers to savoury breakfast such as bacon and eggs to their famous pancakes. The restaurant was not too crowded when visiting.

The food was simply okay, nothing too spectacular. The service was great, however advertising a student discount without any terms and conditions and then refusing to take an international student card was a slightly disappointing.
The dessert was very nice, especially the milkshakes!
meida gauryte - 6 months ago
This was my best experience with IHOP so far. I always have the same few things that I've tried and love: the hot chocolate, the chocolate milkshake, and the 2x2x2 combo (2 buttermilk pancakes, 2 eggs any style, and 2 bacon strips or sausages). We also ordered a side of fresh strawberries. Although that is not my usual experience, this time, the service was very fast (they are always nice, though! Just it usually takes some time to get a server to notice you). The bathrooms were spacious and clean. I love the food. The pictures show the 2 combos and a strawberry & banana French Toast, but the friend who ordered it wasn't too happy with it.

Came here for the 9:45pm Friday summer fireworks in Coney Island Beach. Great to have a spacious walk in restaurant with waiter service around the area which is very close by to the fireworks main display and the amusement park, since many are without waiter service. We were greeted immediately and seated at the spacious booth by the tall/wide windows, looking out towards the amusement park which was nice with the lights. The booth seat was very comfortable and clean for a party of three. Service was great, the waiter was patient and courteous. He brought us the napkins, extra plate and to go box promptly. The fries are excellent, I can tell that they are freshly fried, but too salty but bearable. The big breakfast burrito, the steak omelette, the hash brown are way too salty for us. I was looking forward to try the buttermilk pancakes, but they’re a little bit too dry and too burnt on one side to my liking. I like that they have four different flavors of syrup on the table to use for the pancakes. It was fun to try all the different flavors, they are traditional, blueberry, butter pecan, and strawberry flavored syrups. Per the receipt, we did see that the waiter ordered our egg to be over-medium, but the egg came out to be over-easy with a lot of runny yolk. $4 for unlimited coffee refills which is a bit pricey. For the bathroom, you need to be buzzed in for security measures. Hard to find parking, we were lucky to grab a street parking a block away.

Great experience stumbling upon Margarita Island on a rainy Saturday night. While the rest of Coney was closed, Scott and the crew at Margarita Island welcomed us in with open arms (and pitchers of beer.) While we all hung in the front bar area, they have a large backyard that looked like another fun spot to hang. Big recommend if you’re on Coney!

I went to Surf City Pizzeria with a couple of friends, and we had such a lovely time! It’s a cozy and pleasant spot with a really welcoming atmosphere. The place was pretty clean, and the staff were super friendly and attentive. We ordered three wraps, and they were absolutely delicious — plus the portions were huge for only $14, which is such a great deal!
The pizza at the table next to us looked amazing, so I’m definitely planning to try it next time. It’s the perfect spot to visit in the summer, but honestly, it’s a great place to hang out any time of year. I’d definitely come back!

Following a recent dinner with my wife, I would like to share our positive experience. I opted for the chicken parmesan sandwich with fries, while my wife chose the shrimp salad. Having dined at numerous establishments, I must commend this particular restaurant; it is, in our estimation, exceptional. The fries were perfectly crisp, and my sandwich was exceptionally flavorful. My wife also enjoyed her salad, noting the pleasant taste of the shrimp with no "fishy" taste.
