If you are looking for authentic Indian or Bangladeshi food, this is it. Their mango lassi is so soothing and a spicy dish like lamb vindaloo. Garlic naan is other must try. Atmosphere is awesome.

Went there yesterday for dinner and don’t regret it. The service was good and welcoming. The server and the others were friendly. The food was delicious and warm. After a few bites I was too stuffed probably from breakfast and could not finish my meal. Each dishes were good size too. They packed my food to go in a well sealed bag. I enjoyed my time and would recommend the place 10/10.

Got the chicken tikka masala lunch special; great portion for a great price ($13)! Was super tasty and fresh.
Tirta R - 3 months ago
We ordered a bunch of dishes: Samosa, Gobi Manchurian, chicken tika masala, lamb saagwala, garlic naan, mixed pickle, and mango juice. My partner ate everything and I only had the lamb saagwala..she enjoyed everything and particularly complemented the flavors of this dishes above other Indian restaurants we have tried. I specifically enjoyed the lamb saagwala..it was done to perfection and balanced the flavor of the meat with the spices and the creamy spinach. We will definitely try other dishes in the future!
Mina Ibrahim - 4 months ago
We were the only dine in customers. They brought us water immediately. The appetizers were excellent, though I feel the staff is not good at explaining the dishes. The Lamb saagwala is good. I wanted to try new things, so the only known thing I ordered was garlic naan. I can't handle hot spicy food, so I deliberately asked before choosing my food choices.

Oh my goodness I Love this place
Their cranberry lemonade is delicious! The young white guy who brings us our food is awesome and always in a great mood. The waitresses are so nice. Their truffle fries are to die for!!!!!!

Came here for the first time on Sunday evening with my friend and her dog. We sat outside, it wasn't too loud so we were able to chit chat without issue. The staff were lovely and the food was delicious. There was no wait for a table and the food came out quickly as well. Will definitely be back.

Pretty tasty burgers and decently priced considering the area. The retro atmosphere is cute but could be a lot more appealing if the restaurant itself was better taken care of (cleaned). This is an order at the counter restaurant and not a sit down service restaurant however the counter service could be somewhat more customer oriented. Other than that the food itself is this restaurant’s saving grace. A delicious and well seasoned burger paired with crisp salty fries can never disappoint. The bacon and fried egg was a stellar addition. 😋

Stroll into either door (Franklin or St. John’s) to enjoy a potent cocktail and satisfying bar food. Nice tap selection. Try the house burger or grab an Impossible. Wings and dipping sauces work fine. Casual vibes with some upscaled decor. Plenty of room for groups.

Good friends of mine have been recommending Chavela’s for a while, so I was glad I finally had the opportunity to try it — and it definitely lived up to the hype. I was honestly surprised by how busy it was for a Sunday night, but that only added to the energy. The vibe inside is great: dim, cozy atmosphere with really comfortable booths that make you want to stay awhile.
The food and service were both wonderful from start to finish. We started with the nachos and guacamole. I’ve never had nachos served in a disc shape before — they were excellent and really unique, though I’d be lying if I said I didn’t still slightly prefer traditional nachos. The margaritas were awesome and paired perfectly with the meal.
For my entrée, I had the carnitas dish, which was absolutely out of this world. It came with tacos, refried beans, and salsa, and every part of the plate was packed with flavor. We also tried the carnitas taco, shrimp quesadilla and the steak and shrimp fajitas — everything we had was incredible.
I’ll definitely be back. And if you go, I’d also recommend stopping at Ample Hills Creamery across the street afterward for dessert.

Oh talk about staples in the neighborhood, Chavelas is definitely one of them. A great place for brunch, lunch or dinner they have been serving great Mexican Food from their corner on Franklin for years now. I had the pleasure to dine in for lunch recently.
Our server (Oscar I believe) was incredible. Knew the menu in and out and provided impeccable service. The staff overall were kind and made you feel welcomed.
The food was good as usual. Chilaquiles, smoked ribeye quesadillas and a few other items were order. The smoked Ribeye Quesadilla was a major hit! Keep that as a staple guys.
If you happen to be around the Brooklyn museum and looking for a place with great value, go support Chavelas
Apologies! Food was so good couldn't take pics!

I saw this place on the Michelin guide- def worth checking out!!! There is a long queue down the street it’s so popular!!! Their chicken mole is the bomb. I got two mole tacos and a tinga taco, a sopa azteca and two birria tacos. They have an amazing habanero sauce, a lively atmosphere and delicious cocktails.

The staff and service in general is great! The food was average-good Mexican but very expensive. (We had two Plato Dons and mixed fajitas. The guacamole and flan was everyone’s favorite!

I have visited this place twice .the first time I walked in with a group of about 5 it was fairly early and no one approached us so we sat down at the booth. We waited about 10min when someone told us that the booth was reserved but we could stay for a while and eat. The food was good and we left. The second time was for a friend's birthday party. This was sort of a after party . I was the only man in a group of women and we ordered drinks and food . Not really my speed but if you want to dance on Franklin this is the place to be. But outside it's sometimes rowdy and the double parking is a issue. Recently there was a skirmish I never bothered to look back to see who were the participants but I know the crowd wasn't coming from the canary across the street. 95 south has been here a lot longer than the canary and I wish 95 only the best.

Nice atmosphere and a reliable spot to grab a coffee. The drinks are consistent, and the menu has plenty of options whether you want something classic or seasonal.

This place survived the closing of many Starbucks around nyc, but it needs to step it up. They at least need an order screen. No matter how long in advance I order via the app, they lose track of the ticket or it takes forever or both and I think it would help everyone - customers and staff - to have the big flat screen orders on the wall.

I love Starbucks, but whoever is making the sandwiches for GrubHub clearly hates their job. It’s always very sloppy, the bread is never on evenly, consistently lopsided and I just wish they would hire someone that likes their job enough to take the time and care to put a piece of bread on evenly lol. The food, snacks, drinks, and everything in between is always really good except for last week when they sent me a completely different sandwich than what I ordered lol)

My favorite kind of restaurant is one where you feel like you’ve walked into someone’s home, and Chef Michael delivers in every way! Delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and wonderful conversation.

I thought I came over to my family's house to have dinner the way the service was so homely. Even the customers who came in after us I thought were friends with the owner due to the comfortable conversation they were having. Amazing place to have something healthy to eat late in the evening. Intimate, warm, cozy, and full with love and gorgeous plants. Mix max colorful caribbean-style decorated spot. We were going to take it to go, but decided to stay and enjoy the lovely atmosphere. It's not a place for large groups, but a romantic date or hanging out with a couple of friends would be fitting. We can't wait to return and try other dishes on the menu.

Michael (the owner) is the NICEST. Lovely eclectic decor, lots of seating for a small place. Food was uniformly great: tender, moist, well-seasoned. The veggie jerk chicken was particularly awesome! Also, don’t miss the “Yes I” smoothie.

Thanks to Joseph and the Joe & Sal team for catering this weekend's Women's Empowerment event at Grace Gathering Place. I tried the pizza recently and when my sister asked for a place to provide lunch, I immediately reached out to Joseph. I asked for some recommendations for about 20 people and he provided some ideas. I am SOOOO happy that I went with Joe and Sal's Pizza. They truly make their food with love and that is evident with each bite. Everyone could not stop talking about how good the food was. I ordered Margherita Pizza, Mixed Green Salad, Rigatoni w/ Pesto and Chicken Caprese Salad. For the vegetarian and dairy restriction, Joseph included some sautéed broccoli and a vegan marinara pizza. I'm a big boy (6'5, 320) and I have had my share of pizza. Joe and Sal's Pizza has rocketed to the top as one of my favorite pizza joints in NYC! While the food is great, I can't say enough about the incredible warmth and kindness of the owners. Customer service is top-notch.
I HIGHLY recommend trying one of their 2 locations here in Brooklyn. Thank me later! ;-)

Got the bolognese with linguine & it was $14 but look at the picture! It’s like 2-3 meals worth of food. Not only that but it tasted great. Comes with a little loaf of sesame French bread. Did a pick up order & the spot was busy but they were fast. Lots of pizza slice options & they looked yummy too. Will be back to try some of their other pastas & pizza!

This place has quickly become my go-to neighborhood slice, and I genuinely look forward to stopping in every time. The pizza is consistently amazing — Thin, crispy, hot, & so satisfying. It honestly reminds me of the pizza I grew up eating back home in Jersey, which makes it extra special for me
What I love most is the variety; They always have such a great selection of slices, and sometimes I secretly hope they’re a little low on plain cheese so I can try something new — Bc every time I do, I end up loving it. The Caprese slice is especially delicious (and somehow feels lighter + fresher if you’re trying to get some greens in)
Beyond the food, the staff here is incredible. Everyone is so kind, welcoming, & clearly works really well as a team. On one visit, one of the guys working there noticed me and casually asked what I wanted to drink & brought me a water :’) Such a small gesture, but it really meant a lot & made me feel so taken care of
The space itself is cozy and inviting, and they recently renovated, which makes it feel even more open & comfortable. I love sitting in the back and looking at all the photos, decor, & little mementos while waiting — It gives the place so much character & warmth
Overall, this spot never misses; Amazing pizza, great energy, & genuinely kind people — If you’re craving a solid slice, this place delivers every single time

A true hidden gem. Best pizza in NY. We love dropping in for a slice and we ended up ordering Joe and Sal’s for our casual rehearsal welcome party before our wedding. Everything was amazing and they even threw in extras. Their communication, kindness and of course the food, was above and beyond. Thank you Joe, Sal and your team for being the best!

Your typical neighborhood bagel shop — offering a huge variety of freshly baked bagels, spreads, and toppings. Fast and friendly service. The space is a bit cramped with minimal indoor seating, but there are sidewalk dining options. Overall, an affordable and satisfying stop for a quick bite

Two bagels with flavored cream cheese from the same order. I guess I could give 5 stars for a generous portion of cream cheese (maybe even too generous) or 1 star for barely a swipe - so we'll call it 2.5. For around $9 a bagel, you would at least expect some consistency, especially if the same person made them.

I only gave you guys a 2 because I found a long piece of hair in my drink. That's not hygienic. I don't know how to feel about this or what are the laws and regulations on this but i just wanted you guys to know. Other than that the bagel with bacon and egg was delicious and the tea was good until towards the end when this extra long piece of hair was in my cup stuck to the inside of the lid, It's not mine because I have kinky curly hair that's dyed ginger. Anyways be more careful next time guys. Mistakes do happen but this was my first time eating here and maybe my last I dont know. The customer service was outstanding and everyone was orderly and friendly. Everything looked fresh and the place eas extremely clean. Thanks 😊

This bagel shop is fantastic. The bagels are fresh and flavorful, the bagel sandwiches are excellent, and the cream cheese is amazing. The smoothies are also very good. The line can be long at times, but it moves fairly fast. The quality makes it worth the wait and I would definitely recommend checking it out if you are in the area.

Three of us spent a few hours at the Botanical Gardens loving all the cherry blossoms. We were a little past prime but there were still lots of blossoms.
Before we left home, we researched the restaurants in the area and made a reservation at MISC, a Thai restaurant. We arrived on time and got a table in the middle. The restaurant was full so glad we made a reservation. Plus they have a rather small dining area.
We each ordered different dishes and shared. Overall, we thought each dish was well made and tasty.
Service was pretty good even though the restaurant was very busy,

Had an amazing dining experience at MISC Thai Restaurant! Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor. The Green Fish Curry was rich and perfectly balanced, the Crispy Pork Belly Basil Fried Rice was indulgent and full of depth, and the Shrimp Summer Rolls were fresh and light. The Sriracha Chicken Wings had the perfect kick — spicy, crispy, and addictive!
The staff was attentive and welcoming, and the ambiance made the meal even more enjoyable. If you’re in New York and craving authentic Thai flavors, this spot is a must-visit! 🌿🍤🔥

Priced on higher side but then again it’s a pricier part of Brooklyn. Good portion size. Very cute environment they have a nice seating area in the back. Food came out quickly. I really hate places the enforce a %tip and this place does that. I guess they’ve gotten burned before but feel service can lack given the guaranteed %. Just roll it into food price if you’re going to do that. Empty plates and water refills could have been quicker given there weren’t so many diners at the time.

Absolutely obsessed with this spot, the interior design alone is worth the visit, but the food really seals the deal. It does get pretty busy during dinner time, so plan ahead!
We ordered the duck roti wrap and the crispy duck with curry sauce, both were the highlights of the meal
The duck had zero gamey taste, super tender, and paired perfectly with the rich curry sauce. Honestly… the best duck curry I’ve had in NYC so far!
Strongly recommend if you’re looking for a cozy, vibey Thai dinner spot 💛

I absolutely love this Chinese restaurant! My go-to order is the General Tso's Chicken Lunch Special with either chicken or pork fried rice. The fried chicken is crispy, and the sauce has just the right balance of flavors. (They are not stingy with the sauce!) The chicken mixed into the rice is smoky and perfectly seasoned.
I've been a loyal customer here for four years, and Happy Wok consistently provides delicious food with generous portions. Their lunch special even includes a choice of soda or soup, and the price is around $21.25 after tax for two lunch specials.

The food is about what you’d expect from a decent Chinese takeout spot. The pork in the pork fried rice can be better. The Beef and Broccoli was good.
