Terrific local coffee shop with excellent coffee, good hot and cold options, and a decent breakfast and lunch menu. Local staff with friendly vibe and great music. Caters to all. Lots of co-working during the day in the back. Fast WiFi.

Awesome food, good portion, little natural light and bass-heavy playlist (so not ideal for hardcore studying). I'll come back again.
They have free condoms in the bathroom, in case you are interested.
Take care!

I am not from the neighborhood, so I found this place through google. I don't get how this place gets 300 sth reviews and 4.5 star. This is how my cappuccino looks like. No latte art (and this still ok). The drink was way too hot n it burnt my tongue. Wont come back again.

Good music, good atmosphere to do work and let’s not forget that it’s black-owned 🙌🏾

Great coffee spot. Good vibes on the inside with lots of space and good music. Seating can be pretty limited as it's usually busy. The grits-kale-egg cup is fantastic, but keep in mind that food stops at 2PM.

I normally order delivery from this spot but I went there for the first time to eat at the restaurant. Everything was yummy per usual. The interior is cozy, intimate, and the music was very relaxing.

I came with 2 other people on a Friday night and had an excellent experience. The food was fantastic and prices were really reasonable, especially with generous portions so we were happy to have some leftovers to take home. All around great service too! It’s BYOB, so stop into Mr. Kale a couple doors down to grab beer first if you’re dining in.

Seems like a lot of people get delivery from Pearl, but we decided to eat in and were not disappointed. Delicious food and generous portion sizes. There's a nice vibe - we felt very welcome and taken care of. BYOB and expect to have leftovers to take home!

We were the only dine in customers. They brought us water immediately. The appetizers were excellent, though I feel the staff is not good at explaining the dishes. The Lamb saagwala is good. I wanted to try new things, so the only known thing I ordered was garlic naan. I can't handle hot spicy food, so I deliberately asked before choosing my food choices.

Went with my partner-- shared a paneer tikka masala, garlic naan, and mango lassi. All were excellent, service was very attentive. Left stuffed and impressed! Less than $30 for the whole meal

Pretty tasty burgers and decently priced considering the area. The retro atmosphere is cute but could be a lot more appealing if the restaurant itself was better taken care of (cleaned). This is an order at the counter restaurant and not a sit down service restaurant however the counter service could be somewhat more customer oriented. Other than that the food itself is this restaurant’s saving grace. A delicious and well seasoned burger paired with crisp salty fries can never disappoint. The bacon and fried egg was a stellar addition. 😋

I went here with friends. There is a large selection of beers and cider on tap. They can also make cocktails here. It’s relatively quiet and has a nice open/spacious vibe. It’s close to the subway so I’d definitely return.

Came here for the first time on Sunday evening with my friend and her dog. We sat outside, it wasn't too loud so we were able to chit chat without issue. The staff were lovely and the food was delicious. There was no wait for a table and the food came out quickly as well. Will definitely be back.

Stroll into either door (Franklin or St. John’s) to enjoy a potent cocktail and satisfying bar food. Nice tap selection. Try the house burger or grab an Impossible. Wings and dipping sauces work fine. Casual vibes with some upscaled decor. Plenty of room for groups.

Love this place!! Food is fantastic, and the outdoor seating is beautiful! Service was a little slow, and a few mistakes were made to our order, but there were a lot of people and tables to serve, so we didn’t mind too much. Definitely on the louder side, especially on weekends — can be difficult to hear people sitting right by you. DJs are fun and play decent music. Continually come back to this place, and will not stop.

Best part of the restaurant is the atmosphere, the negroni was a 10 but the labios rojos is a regular mezcalita, a basic drink just a beautiful presentation. The food was real basic mexican food, because of the fame I was expecting a little more. I give the food a 5. We had chilaquiles, tostadas, huarache, esquites and Plato don. Dont have any of them maybe other plates are better. We also had bread pudding it was a 4. Music was good and our server great!

Staff is friendly. The food (the special of the day, tacos de carnitas) were delicious and served with a lovely semi-spicy salsa and lime wedges. Despite the restaurant being very busy, our food arrived quickly. We were seated outside but heat lamps meant that it was still comfortable in fall, and it wasn't too loud like the interior of the restaurant. Recommend 👍

Great neighborhood gem! I’ve visited here a few times for happy hour and the margaritas are strong. The food is really good and the overall ambiance is beautifully rustic. The decor feeds into the vibe which I really enjoyed. Some favorites were the steak and pork tacos, esquite and choco-flan! Amazing!

Great tacos and really lovely service at an affordable price. The space itself is really gorgeous and the staff was attentive and kind. Loved the food, especially their guacamole- it was citrusy, chunky, and packing a good punch. Loved the vegetarian options, though choices were a bit limited. The nopales con frijoles taco was great. Definitely would go back!

Went there for dinner on a Saturday evening and had a great time. The restaurant was full but not too crowded. The music was 90s hip-hop/r&b that I found myself really enjoying. The best part was the food. The food is amazing!!! I got salmon with candied yams and collard greens. Absolutely amazing! Everything was cooked to perfection. I will definitely be back and I 100% recommend it to anyone that loves soul food.

Went here with some friends for brunch and was a bit disappointed. For starters upon arrival the restaurant looks closed for the outside , luckily one of the staff members were outside and invited me in. Upon entering, the restaurant is very spacious and clean.( I can easily see this as the perfect venue to throw an event) . I ended up getting there way ahead of my two friends and the bartender took pity on me and offered me a mimosa on the house, which tasted amazing. Once my friends arrived, we ordered a plethora of food ranging from chicken and waffles, steak and eggs, fish and grits along with a picture of mimosas. my friend seem to enjoy their food. However, I thought the food was a bit underwhelming (I had the chicken and waffles). please know this is personal preference and also know that I’ve brunched quite a bit, and this was very underwhelming to me simply on taste. My friends seem to have enjoyed their food and didn’t make any complaints. The service was great and not too long after my friends arrived, so did the DJ. Pros: Very nice vibey atmosphere, especially once the music is going. The staff are very nice and accommodating as they needed to be a few changes made to one of my friends order because she is vegetarian. Although I did not like my food, the portion sizes were really good, especially for the price and they have vegetarian options. CONS: when they have brunch, that is the only thing available to order which sucks because the brunch menu is very limited in comparison to their dinner menu. I do think I’ll return as I do think they’re done the menu is much more appealing to me. It seems like the night scene is where it’s at up in there lololol. So for now until next time as I’ll definitely be back..

I love Starbucks, but whoever is making the sandwiches for GrubHub clearly hates their job. It’s always very sloppy, the bread is never on evenly, consistently lopsided and I just wish they would hire someone that likes their job enough to take the time and care to put a piece of bread on evenly lol. The food, snacks, drinks, and everything in between is always really good except for last week when they sent me a completely different sandwich than what I ordered lol)

You have one of the cleanest and nicest Starbucks locations I’ve been to. I asked for a small favor at the order desk — an iced Americano with ice to the top, the shot over the ice, then water to fill — and while waiting, I watched Mel prepare it. She read the order sheet perfectly and made the drink with such care and precision. I honestly thought, “She must be the manager, or at least someone who would make an excellent one.” Great job, Mel.

Welcome to the gem of the neighborhood, a bar that’s not just a place to drink, but a destination to unwind! With a menu that’s small but oh-so-dependable, every bite is a delightful surprise. The tap selection is a treasure trove of flavors, and trust me, you’ll want to sample them all over time. The atmosphere is as laid-back as a Sunday afternoon, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the company of friends.
This bar is destined to become your new favorite hangout! I’ve only tried the smash burgers and wings so far, and let me tell you, they were absolutely scrumptious. The beer selection on tap is equally impressive, offering a variety to suit every taste. Don’t miss out on their daily specials, like the fantastic $18 beer and burger deal that runs until 7 PM. It’s a steal and a reason to visit every day!

We had a pleasant time here enjoying some beers with good bar nosh. The bartender was friendly, helpful, and patient. The food was served hot and fast, and up to snuff; I had quality fish tacos. The fries and fried pickles were on point and we got seconds. The bathroom was clean and the crowd was easy going. Not sure why we waited so long to try a place so close to Franklin and Eastern. Laid back, chill, and easygoing.

I thought I came over to my family's house to have dinner the way the service was so homely. Even the customers who came in after us I thought were friends with the owner due to the comfortable conversation they were having. Amazing place to have something healthy to eat late in the evening. Intimate, warm, cozy, and full with love and gorgeous plants. Mix max colorful caribbean-style decorated spot. We were going to take it to go, but decided to stay and enjoy the lovely atmosphere. It's not a place for large groups, but a romantic date or hanging out with a couple of friends would be fitting. We can't wait to return and try other dishes on the menu.

A true hidden gem. Best pizza in NY. We love dropping in for a slice and we ended up ordering Joe and Sal’s for our casual rehearsal welcome party before our wedding. Really friendly people & the flavorful pepperoni had an excellent crispetycrunchety bottom (a perfectly cromulent word and I’m talking NO sagging) with still a nice bready end crust. I’ll be happy to pay 4.50 a slice again! Oh and a good amount of indoor seating.

Okay. If you call to order, you might get put on hold - but it’s worth the wait. Joe & Sal’s is a small shop with big flavor. Some of the best, no-frills pizza I’ve ever had. The dough, cheese, flavors, quality and customer service are top tier. Will definitely return.

Neighborhood gem ✨️
I have been coming to this place almost every week. Sometimes multiple times a week. It's my go-to pizza spot. I have introduced 3 people to this place and they are all hooked so it is a tried, tested, and proven best pizza spot in Crown Heights. My #1 go-to is the La-Burrata pie. Thin crust, fresh burrata cheese, fresh basil, and tomato... it all just melts in your mouth. Next, is the Nonna pizza if you're into Sicilian style. Yum! My tip is to get a full pie instead of slices because A) it will be freshly baked. B) much cheaper that way. Their pasta is also really good. The penne alla pesto and fettuccine alfredo are what I have tried so far. I will update when I try more. This place has history and a reputation as a solid pizza joint. Dave Portnoy, the pizza guru, gave this place an 8.1. But I round that up and give it a solid 9. There's enough seating area and Tiffany lamps for added aesthetics and a vintage feel. They also have a memory wall with pictures and notes of people who have made memories in this place. And of course, the Godfather references and an Al Pacino portrait 😉

This bagel shop is fantastic. The bagels are fresh and flavorful, the bagel sandwiches are excellent, and the cream cheese is amazing. The smoothies are also very good. I only gave you guys a 2 because I found a long piece of hair in my drink. That's not hygienic. I don't know how to feel about this or what are the laws and regulations on this but i just wanted you guys to know. Other than that the bagel with bacon and egg was delicious and the tea was good until towards the end when this extra long piece of hair was in my cup stuck to the inside of the lid, It's not mine because I have kinky curly hair that's dyed ginger. Anyways be more careful next time guys. Mistakes do happen but this was my first time eating here and maybe my last I dont know. The customer service was outstanding and everyone was orderly and friendly. Everything looked fresh and the place eas extremely clean. Thanks 😊

There are a lot of choices for food up and down Franklin ave both sides of the street but the bagel pub stands out for its soft delicious bagels from raising to pumpernickel, everything and more .it gets crowded but you can order for pick up. When you walk in there is a cashier and some window seats. But you will have to walk further inside to order the food it's where the bagels are. After ordering you give your name and take a order receipt and pay at the cashier. Sometimes it's hard to hear your name so it's best to stand closer to the cashier . There are limited seating near where you order. The bagel pub opens early and close early compared to the establishments around it but it does really good business and it's no surprise why. There are also a few seats outside but be prepared to have your order to go. And enjoy!
