The Grand Central Oyster Bar Restaurant is a New York landmark, located on the lower level of the amazing Grand Central Terminal. They're open Monday through Friday from 11:30 AM to 9:30 PM. I dined here with a childhood friend. We were celebrating our 55+ years of friendship & it was a truly memorable celebration! I've always wanted to visit Grand Central Terminal aka Grand Central Station. It's even more spectacular than I'd envisioned! We decided to splurge for dinner & our choices were absolutely delicious. We shared everything & there wasn't a crumb left on our plates! Our servers were welcoming & attentive. They made our dinner even more special. Hopefully, we'll get to enjoy this wonderful restaurant again in the near future.

Four stars for an institution that earns the visit on history alone. The 1913 Guastavino-tiled vaults are a genuine New York landmark — and there's a herring-bone pattern overhead, which felt apt given the occasion. We came for the Dutch Herring festival. The herring was fresh and properly done, served the traditional way with finely chopped onion and chives. The fried oysters were perfectly fried, and I've no reason to doubt the raw ones are just as good — this is a serious seafood kitchen. But the prices. $12.50 for the herring plate, with a "double portion" available for — you guessed it — exactly double the price. $30 for the oysters. The quality is real; the markup is steep. Come for the room and the occasion, eat selectively, and make peace with the bill before it arrives.

This was great tbh. Daily menu refresh. HUGE variety. More oysters than I knew what to do with. We asked the kitchen to just prepare us a platter. Free bread & butter. The bread was a biscuit and a cracker. Biscuit was a bit dry. Butter was a bit too cold. Cracker was pretty good. A fresh sourdough would have been really good. LOVED the atmosphere. They did a great job for a windowless restaurant. Red checker table cloths and lighting was lovely. Easy to walk in for a table on a Friday at prime dinner time

My boyfriend and I came here while waiting for our train since there is nowhere to sit at Grand Central Terminal. I do remember the days there was a place to sit down at GCT, however, and this place might have still been around. Suffice it to say, a somewhat hidden gem, the Oyster Bar reigns supreme in both atmosphere and hospitality. When you first walk in, it is easy to miss. We let the hostess know we were just there for drinks, and she pointed us toward a small sign under an exit sign that led to the saloon. Tucked behind those doors is the bar area, and it felt like discovering a little secret inside Grand Central. The drinks were beautifully done. I had a French 76, crisp and refreshing, and my boyfriend ordered one of the specials, the New York High Tea, which did not disappoint. Yes, it is a bit pricey, but given the setting, it feels expected. The bartender was attentive without being overbearing, and I loved the decor. Already looking forward to going back.

A mixed experience. The highlight was definitely the freshness of the seafood some dishes were well-prepared and delivered on quality, particularly the oysters and the shrimp cocktail. However, not everything met the same standard. A few dishes felt underwhelming and didn’t justify the premium pricing, which was a bit disappointing given the restaurant’s reputation. Service was another area that could use improvement. While not poor, it lacked consistency and attentiveness at times, which detracted from the overall experience. That said, the location is undeniably special. Dining in such an iconic, historic setting adds a unique charm that’s hard to replicate and is worth experiencing at least once. In summary, great atmosphere and fresh seafood, but execution and service don’t always match the price point.

Great lunch spot! I was here with a few colleagues while in town, and everything was excellent. The chilled carrot and ginger soup sounded like an unusual recommendation, but it turned out to be a fantastic choice - fresh, flavorful, and memorable. I also had the chicken Cobb salad, which was delicious. Even during a busy lunch rush, the service was friendly and attentive. If you're looking for a great lunch in the area, I'd definitely recommend Pershing Square.

Outstanding breakfast here. Whether you are having a business meeting or your in shorts on vacation, this place is perfect. Instant service. Great food and your drink will never go under half full. We’ve gone here each day of vacation…it’s that good! The Salmon Benedict is hands down the best I’ve had. It wasn’t just a super thin piece of salmon. It was hearty, yet light. Have it with the salad and not the potatoes. What a great combo! The granola is super good too. There is a honey drizzle in it so if you don’t like sweet them have them not do the honey. Oh, and the location is directly across Grand Central Station.

I've walked by this place hundreds of times, finally decided to meet a friend for dinner. What a pleasant surprise. The burger was good but the special was great. I got a mushroom soup that was perfect. My friend got the lobster ravioli, amazing. Desserts were good. But probably the best service I've had in a restaurant. Explained the specials, had a real opinion, paid attention, and listened to our requests. Seems typical but it is so rare to have someone pay attention. Sure we got there early and it wasn't crowded. But I go to restaurants for the experience not just the food. Also it wasn't loud but not quiet, you can have a real conversation without yelling. Can't wait to go back and see if it was just a lucky day or it is my new favorite American bistro.

After experiencing the incredible views at SUMMIT One Vanderbilt, we stopped into Pershing Square for dinner and it was the perfect choice. Super convenient location right across from Grand Central Terminal, which made it easy to continue exploring afterward. For a family adventure in NYC, this was such a great spot for a dinner that felt both formal and relaxed at the same time. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was classic New York, and the service was absolutely superb. A memorable stop during our NYC trip that we’d gladly visit again.

Pershing Square is the kind of New York spot that feels like it could only exist here: tucked dramatically under Park Avenue, glowing with that classic bistro charm, and buzzing with the energy of Grand Central just steps away. From the outside, the bright green PERSHING SQUARE sign and deep red façade make it feel instantly iconic, and inside it only gets better. The dining room is warm, polished, and full of character, with rich wood booths, red accents, chandeliers, and that beautiful architectural detail overhead that makes breakfast feel like an occasion. The breakfast was fantastic. One plate had soft, golden scrambled eggs, crispy breakfast potatoes with peppers and scallions, a toasted English muffin, and absolutely standout bacon. The bacon was thick, beautifully crisp, smoky, and easily some of the best I’ve ever had. The eggs Benedict was just as memorable: two perfectly poached eggs set over an English muffin with ham, generously covered in silky hollandaise and finished with chives. The potatoes alongside it were crisp-edged, buttery, and full of flavor, with little bits of red pepper and onion adding the perfect bite. Even the cappuccino felt special, served in a classic white cup with a little heart of foam on top. Between the food, the setting, the service, and the unmistakable NYC atmosphere, Pershing Square is a wonderful breakfast stop and a place I’d happily return to. It’s classic, comfortable, and a little bit magical under Park Avenue.

Our first visit to Morton’s was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, Peter, the Regional Manager, made us feel like VIPs. He took the time to personally check on us throughout the evening and made us feel genuinely valued. Our waiter was fantastic as well, and while I unfortunately can’t remember his name, his service was top-notch. One member of our group has a black pepper allergy, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate her. The chef created a special sauce for her steak on the fly, and it was absolutely phenomenal. That level of attention and care did not go unnoticed. The Moscato was the best I’ve ever had, and the offer of a discount on a second bottle to take home was such a thoughtful touch. What stood out most was how everyone treated us. We weren’t just another table—we felt like honored guests. The hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine care from Peter and the entire team made this one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Thank you for making three ladies from Chicago, Detroit, and Wisconsin feel so special. We may have come from different cities, but we’ll all be talking about this experience for a long time.

I eat here frequently. The service is top tier. The food is exquisite. I try to frequent atleast once a month since I work in the Financial District and it's on my way home. The ambiance is elegant and classy. There is literally nothing negative, I could possibly say about this establishment. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. I highly recommend for any occasion of importance or if you want to treat yourself. Oh and don't forget The Onion Loaf, *chef's kiss*. 10/10 *Update* I have recently gone to Morton's on 5th and when I say I am in love with this place. The manager is top tier. I love how he goes table to table to engage with each and every customer from the waiting area to the bar and table. He brought out our entrée and even assisted with navigating tge menu to find our favorite side Au Gratin potatoes. We did not do restaurant week but did do their Steak w/ Truffle Butter & Lobster, Chicken Christopher & Lobster w/ Truffle Butter, Wagyu Beef Dumplings, Casino Oysters, Lobster Bisque, Caesar Salad, Creme Brulee and Chocolate Lava Cake. The menu has expanded and I love the new additions. Still the same level of excellence and professionalism. I recommend everytime.

What a wonderful elegant experience at Morton's steakhouse. My wife was given a Xmas gift to this establishment and from the time we entered and until we left it was all about us and the customer experience. My wife entered first and I was on my way , the staff was great and ensured her it would be a good time. When I arrived the staff again showed great appreciation for our time. The steak was great and we enjoyed the dessert and wine. 2/14 my wife and I returned to this wonderful restaurant and enjoyed everything including our lovely waitress raeanna can't wait to return. Customer service is incredible. 2/15/26 update : its unfortunate but I discovered a extra 55 dollar charge on my card . I was vigilant and reported it to my credit card company . My credit card company cleared my 55 dollars and returned it to me I also contacted the parent company of mortons steakhouse and no one has responded to me ? I'm disappointed and don't feel comfortable returning. 2/26/26 update: today Peter a general manager at this location responded and assured me that it was a honest mistake and I'm pleased with the answer. And look forward to returning.

I love the manager here at lunch service. Coby is amazing. The bartender Elvin makes a great drink. I have to knock this down a star. Nueske Bacon has been changed and this is no longer worth my visit. The half of half of slice was today's visit and the photo is what it use to be early in the year. No longer worth the price. I can get a full piece of thick cut bacon from Benjamin Steakhouse for $10. It use to be the highlight of the menu. To be changed so drastically from two steaks to one steak which now includes rice was not a good corporate choice. Especially for those who can't have rice. Having a staple changed is disappointing.

Spend so much time here that I think I’ve tried everything on the menu - especially love their calamari, tuna tartare and duck! Gym is always crowded around rush hour but is mostly empty during the day and on weekends. Rooftop has great seating with views in the summer and tap room is great for getting work done in the winter. Largest club of all the university clubs in NYC and has by far the best interior designs.

Been here several times over the years and its been great, but it seems clear to me that they are in something of a downswing these days. The wait staff is very inattentive. The restaurant is always buzzing with servers, but none seem to be visiting tables or checking in with guests. In my hour and a half dinner, my waiter came over twice and I had to call a different waiter over, who was just standing and looking out into space, just to get boxes and the check. That too wasn't easy, as the waiter literally looked me in the eyes and then looked away as if to try and pass it on to someone else, but when there was no one, he reluctantly resigned himself to actually helping a customer. The food was decent, but plenty expensive, and not good enough to account for the shoddy service at a place like the Yale Club. Dont see myself coming here again with all the options NYC has to offer.

This is the first time I had the opportunity to experience The Yale Club and enjoy a nice lunch there. It had a renaissance style interior design and a beautiful view of the city. The food was delicious specially the cheese cake. I would highly recommend anyone that have the opportunity to go and experience it.

Benjamin Steakhouse gives you a classic New York steakhouse experience. The restaurant has a traditional American style with a charming atmosphere and beautiful decor. The staff were very professional, friendly, and provided excellent service from start to finish. The food was made with high-quality ingredients, and the steak was cooked well and tasted very good. While I don't think it's the best steak in New York city, it is still one of the better steakhouses and definitely worth trying. The dessert menu was pretty standard, with the usual choices, and everything we ordered was good. Overall, we had a very enjoyable dinner and a great experience. I would recommend Benjamin Steakhouse to anyone looking for a quality steakhouse in NYC

Benjamin Steakhouse in NYC was absolutely outstanding. The food was out of this world from start to finish. We began with the Canadian bacon, which was thick, tender, and full of flavor — the perfect way to start the meal. For our main course, we ordered the Steak for 3, and it was fantastic. The steak was perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and exactly what you hope for at a top-tier steakhouse. We paired it with whipped potatoes and asparagus, both of which complemented the steak beautifully. Of course, we had to finish with the crème brûlée, and it did not disappoint. It tasted homemade, with a rich, creamy texture and a nice thick sugar crust on top. Overall, an exceptional dining experience with amazing food from beginning to end. Benjamin Steakhouse is a must-visit in NYC, and I would absolutely come back.

Ribeye tasted great, but was overcooked from what I ordered. Thick bacon was also chewy and just ok. Lighting is so dark that I couldn't even see how overcooked the steak was. Service was good, but portioning the apps and sides before the plates even reach the table wasn't necessary. I'd like to see what the dishes look like whole before they get chopped up. The bathroom attendant is also not necessary in 2026.

As you will notice we are avid visitors to the Capital Grille, the decor in this location was a bit more vibrant and specific to the location. We were visiting this particular location as it was new to my family and we were there to celebrate a birthday. Maja, pronounced Maya, was exceptional. If you noticed the service is incredible in any of these locations. We had a great time and enjoyed a very nice meal. They ensured that the food came out in a timely fashion and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Special shout out to Shelby who relocated to the new Nashville location. My mother and law and her Daughter went to the new opening and had a great experience matched to those we have experienced in every location of this establishment.

Another branch of a restaurant that is consistently excellent in both cuisine and service (very customer centric). Only issues here is the ambiance feels busy/crowded due to the smaller space - and the onion soup doesn't quite hit the highs as in other branches (hasn't been steeped long enough). Service and food was superb and our waitress, Taylor, was one of the best parts of our evening. She was attentive, sweet, and made the dinner that much more memorable. The lobster and crab cake appetizer is 10/10. Thank you to the hostess, who held my items that required refrigeration until dinner was over. If I need to schedule another business meeting, the Capital Grille will be top of mind.

While the food easily earned a five-star rating, the service we received from Corey exceeded all expectations — truly deserving of ten stars. Corey was outstanding. He remained fully engaged throughout our meal, sharing thoughtful conversation and personal stories, and demonstrating genuine enthusiasm for what he does. He was, without a doubt, the highlight of our visit. As for the food — if I have one complaint, it’s that the flavors were simply too good to resist. Each course was expertly crafted and left us eager to see how the next would possibly surpass the last. Some reviews mention the pricing, but in our experience, the quality of both the cuisine and the service more than justifies the cost. If you're fortunate enough to be served by Corey, your visit will be nothing short of unforgettable. Nice secret bar in Grand Central area. I just have few hours meeting up friend who works near by so it is not a lot of bar around because the area is mostly office. It took me walking 2-3 rounds to find this place but when I got in it was very crowded. No space to sit at that time so my friend and I just stand at the bar. Looks like lot of people don't want to go back home right after work so they just come to hang out here. Drink is good, confirm by my friend who is martini lover :) So I recommended.

So the menu is more interesting than the food and surprisingly the sushi (crispy salmon roll) was the standout. Nice touch serving salted edamame w drinks. The wine list is ok, tho I'd steer clear of the craft cocktails..too sweet. Nice service, very loud until the after work crowd dissipated a bit.

Solid bar. Basically a bar that is connected to Bobby Van's. Very convenient location right next to Grand Central. Decent draught list and solid cocktails with the prices you would expect for the location (not cheap) . Service was exceptional. We were a large group there during happy hour and all of our drink orders were fulfills in under 3 minutes.

Some of the very best bagels I have had. Onion bagel has perfect texture and the onions were quality and plenty of them. Wonderful schmear of cream cheese. Cinnamon raisin bagel had wonderful taste and had it with butter and you know it's received plenty of butter as it comes through the wrapper. Rainbow cookies were good but have had better. Overall the this is the spot for a true New York bagel

Was great for a quick stop on a Saturday morning (8:30) and it seemed to get a bit busier after we had our order in, but the food came quickly. I had the traditional open-face lox and bagel. I wasn’t a fan of the coffee, but I’m super picky! I probably should have picked something else ;) Overall, a great quick pick if you’re in the area!

Despite the terrible photo, my sandwich was delicious and fresh. I took 2 bagel set sto go and one suggestion is to separate the everything bagel from other bagels so the seasoning doesn’t ruin the other bagels flavor. Also labels help when you have different orders of the same thing!

To eat cheap close than Grand Central Station , quickly and healthy ? It’s the spot to be ! You can take to go, or to eat upstair for less than $20, if you like to have a full menu. It’s also possible to have salad and some food under 10$ !

Lovely place for breakfast in Madison Avenue! Their coffee is super delicious and always freshly brewed! I love the hazelnut coffee ☕️ as it always has amazing after taste. The place is great for families with children as there’re many options for different breakfast preferences! There is a station for freshly made sandwiches where you can get egg sandwiches A station for prepared hot food, fruits, vegetables, oatmeal and a juicing bar. If you are there don’t miss trying their peanut butter wraps!

Pera was the right place to have the first meaningful conversation with a good acquaintance: smart interior design and lighting that traverse from front to back, as if we are approaching a landing strip. The lighting is designed for warmth: pendant lights hang from the ceiling, diffusing light while creating shadows above; combined with textured glass votive lamps, it hides all blemishes, making everyone look young and beautiful. An open view of the kitchen reveals where the magic of mezze is made and served with warmth. We hosted a family reunion lunch for 14 people in one of Pera Mediterranean Brasserie's private dining rooms, and it was absolutely wonderful. From start to finish, the team took great care of us and made the entire experience seamless. The food was outstanding. The Adana kebab was one of my favorites, and the sujuk substitution they accommodated worked perfectly. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed the meal. We also appreciated that the food and beverage minimum for the private room was very reasonable, especially compared with several other restaurants in the area that we considered. A special thank you to Emi and the entire team for their hospitality and attention to detail. They made our family gathering feel truly special. We would happily host another event here and highly recommend Pera for both private events and a fantastic Mediterranean meal.

We were looking for a restaurant close to Grand Central that wasn’t a tourist trap. This was perfect. They had a beautiful patio where we ate with our two little girls that was nice and quiet despite its proximity to such a busy area. We ordered the calamari, octopus, med fries, salmon and burger. Everything was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. Very happy with our stop here and will remember it for future trips to the city.
