4 Star Rating September 2024:Several years ago we had an incredible dinner here, but for some reason it did not quite live up to the memories. The New England clam chowder was good but not great. Last time I loved the Washington State oysters. They had three varieties of them here on this visit, they definitely had a distinct flavor from New England oysters but not quite the blow away flavor I remembered from last time. The service was fast and efficient, but the bench seats were so worn out that they were uncomfortable. The chairs were much better.

5 Star Rating I used to work in Grand Central years ago and never dined here. Well, I finally tried the famous Grand Central Oyster Bar today and was impressed with the overall experience. I will say that lunch felt more like what you'd see at a higher-end diner, so don't visit here thinking you're going to a super fancy place. With that being said, the food and service were great, the place is historical, and I'd definitely return.

4 Star Rating I love this place, I have to admit. It’s really a part of New York history. When I used to live three blocks away and went through Grand Central Station a few times a day, I’d often stop in for a quick bite. Now I’m on the UWS, but still come here regularly. The draw? The oysters of course! So many types, all with distinctive flavor profiles. On this occasion we had an oyster platter that was excellent. Heaven on earth! This truly is a great place to let your oyster fetish run wild! We also ordered clam chowder (both New England and Manhattan), which were very good and quite filling. We also ordered shrimp cocktail, a clam dish, and an order of fries. All were perfectly prepared. If you’re looking for a quaint and quiet little hideaway restaurant, then this ain’t the place. It’s loud, the tables are much too close, the servers constantly mix up orders and seem to be in a perpetual state of confusion, and it’s way too pricey. But, somehow it works. I’ve been coming here for as long as I can remember, and no doubt I’ll continue. If you go I am very sure you’ll enjoy the experience; the food, the atmosphere and everything else. Give it a go and enjoy! I Hope this was a little helpful.

4 Star Rating A huge, beautiful space. Good simple food. I would stick to beer and wine and forgo the cocktails next time. Portion sizes were very large. My clams had sand in them. The mignonette for the oysters was a bit overpowering. Overall, glad we tried this classic spot.

5 Star Rating It is one of the fastest serving restaurants in New York City. I enjoyed the NY Chicken Pie and some fries. I was seated without any comments about my short sleeved t-shirt, and the waitress didn’t take too much time to attend to me nor too fast. It was the same situation with serving the food and the check.

4 Star Rating Stopped in for a drink around rush hour . Had the Vanderbilt drink with gin ( you can get it with vodka too.) It had strawberry and rosemary and ginger I believe. Pretty good. I decided to get it since we're right near Vanderbilt Avenue here. I think a lot of solo flyers come in and sit at the bar to get a drink before going across the street to Grand Central Station , as I did . I didn't get food but there were definitely people at tables eating. Staff are really friendly and professional. Dark and calming atmosphere.

5 Star Rating This is a lovely place for a meal. Prices are reasonable and the bacon and potatoes are incredible. The butter is very tasty too. This is right outside grand central and a lot cheaper than the breakfast our hotel offered. The location is also great with grand central right opposite and times square, the new york library, 5th avenue and summit all being in walkable distance. The staff were also very accommodating with my mobility issues and there is wheelchair access. We ate around 9am and didn't need to wait for a table.

5 Star Rating We came here for breakfast on our recent trip to NYC. It was great! I had the lox and cream cheese bagel. It was massive and so filling. My kids (7, 6 and 4) shared a pancakes between them as the portion size would have been too big otherwise. They tell me it was the best pancake ever. Our waiter dropped a tip and my son picked it up and went to give it to him. He told him to keep it. Very sweet. If we are lucky enough to come to NYC again we will go here!

5 Star Rating 1- Food = 4.5 /5. Very good. Prime Ocean Platter and Bacon were both well prepared and of good quality. Dry Aged Porterhouse which was on the special menu was definitely prime steak but lacked the dry aged flavor that I’m accustomed too. Steak was still very good and I’d order it again. All 3 sides were tasty and sharable. Martinis 🍸 were good. Almost forgot about the very good fresh bread and soft butter they serve while you wait for your food.😋😋. 2- Service = 5/5. Excellent cerebrating our anniversary we were greeted with happy anniversary as soon as we checked in. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, but not pushy and always smiling. 😊. Thanks Sara. They actually took an amazing Photo of myself and my wife in which they handed to us in a happy anniversary card which we both loved and appreciated. 3- Ambiance = 5/5. Excellent. Classy modern design. 4- Reservations = 5/5 Excellent. Booked with OpenTable the day of. 5- Value = 5/5. Food was excellent as expected given this is a high end Steakhouse, but the service and the staff were extra special. We would definitely recommend and will 100% return.

5 Star Rating I felt the need to share the excellence of Morton’s Steakhouse. Matt, our server was invaluable— his professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail were beyond expectation. The food was a journey of on its own as my eyes almost popped out as I embraced the notes and layers of flavors that danced in synchronous notes like a performance at an orchestra! I will definitely love to visit again! I had the scallops wrapped in bacon and the dry-aged steak for main course.

5 Star Rating My partner and I have been coming to Morton’s our whole relationship - in fact our first real date was at this particular one - and it’s always excellent, as one would expect of the brand. But tonight especially they proved why they’re exceptionally good. We were lucky enough to have Destiny as our server, and she made the whole night unbelievably special. She was fun and friendly and helpful, she made great recommendations and helped us have a beautiful night to celebrate our anniversary. The food is always great (especially the new green beans, and the seasonal cheesecake with the lemon sauce), but the reason Morton’s is so special is the atmosphere they create, and the people are a particular part of that. Special thanks to Destiny and the whole staff for always making us feel so celebrated when we come for dinner!

5 Star Rating I have nothing but overwhelmingly positive and remarkable things to say about this Morton’s location. My server Hayday was very attentive to crumb and clear my table after each course. The meatballs came out warm and generously garnished. With the shrimp appetizer, the shrimp were ginormous and came with a very crunchy and almost spicy bread. Outside of the photo was the bread which came out perfectly hot and crispy. The restaurant itself is smaller than I expected, making the setting intimate. I did not feel rushed by staff despite being the last diner while the restaurant was closed. All around the board I left highly satisfied. It is evident the staff run a good show here!

5 Star Rating The Yale Club is amazing. Attended a wedding there recently. Stayed overnight: room very updated. Terrace reception area has great views and great for mingling. Ballroom for dinner was excellent. Nice size dance floor, really good bartenders, excellent and attentive waitstaff (thanks Eddie). Food was very good. Overall, an amazing experience. Front desk staff could not have been more accommodating: my wife had a dress zipper issue I could not fix. Three of them jumped in to fix the issue and make the evening memorable. 4 Star Rating Fantastic steakhouse! The appetizers were mouth-watering, and the steaks were juicy! However, while the steaks were juicier, I felt that they were more bloody/raw than Benjamin Steakhouse Prime. This is somewhat understandable as Benjamin Prime primarily focuses on the grill, while Benjamin Steakhouse focuses on everything equally. If you want thick, juicy steaks, then come on in. If you want the steaks to be more focused on tenderness, then check out Benjamin Prime. What I really enjoy is the atmosphere. The lighting is not too bright nor too dim. Also, while there are several patrons in business-casual clothing, it is not too many that makes you feel out of place. If you have any questions about the menu, definitely ask your waiter/waitress as ours was extremely helpful!

4 Star Rating I visited here during restaurant week. Restaurant was so crowded and staff were so busy. I picked one wine from the list and asked if this was red wine, and the waiter said yes. But what he brought was white wine. Of course, he exchanged it quickly, but I saw his face was crumpled. I ordered 3 steaks, 2 medium, 1 medium well, but 2 medium well done were served my table. But the food was good, so I get 4 stars.

5 Star Rating 240417 Wonderful steak experience. Top notch dishes. Friendly and professional service. Lovely bread basket with delightful soft salted butter. It’s hard to save space for the meat! The Benjamin Salad is healthy and refreshing, with lots of crab meat and apple. I like how it doesn’t have too much greasy or heavy dressing but maybe a little more vinegar will work better here. Baked clams are lovely too. Plump clam meat covered in creamy sauce, without being overpowered. Hot plates before steak. Legit. NY Sirloin bone in. The crust is insane. 🔥 Every crispy without being burnt. Beautifully buttery, fragrant, yet not greasy at all. Crunchy to the last bite!! The center is gorgeously pink, tender, and juicy. Perfectly medium. Surf and Turf is of great value, filet mignon (allegedly of the same quality as above) and plump pieces of lobster, shrimp, and crab leg. The sauce is tasty and not too heavy. I even enjoyed dipping my bread in it. Asparagus side is also wonderful. Robust, fresh, tender, perfectly steamed. Pity that we didn’t have any more space for dessert (esp cheesecake). 🫄Maybe next time! NYC is competitive with many traps as well, but this place still exceeds my expectation, guaranteed delicious. The space is bustling and can be quite loud/crowded/not intimate enough. For us it’s alright, elevated old school decoration without being pretentious. Thank you Edmond and the chefs in the kitchen for making our day

4 Star Rating My experience here was very satisfying from the service to the food. Our server was very attentive and we did not need to call her over once. The quality of the food I had was excellent; I had the prosciutto wrapped cheese as my appetizer, and the sliced filet as my main course with a side of truffle fries. The appetizer was very good, and their balsamic was great; some of the best I tasted. I almost wanted to hold on to the plate even after finishing it because I could have cleaned it off using some bread lol. My main course exceeded expectations. Just look at the picture and see how juicy and delicious looking that steak is. They nailed the cook, and there was no fat at all which is perfect. I know that filets typically don’t have fat, but some restaurants do not serve the best quality cuts. This place did not have that problem, that is up there for one of my top steaks of 2024. The caramelized onions went with it beautifully, and even the fig essence worked which was a new idea to me. The truffle fries on the side were nice and crispy; definitely above average when comparing it with other fries. The entire experience was quite satisfying and if I were to go back, I would probably order the exact same thing again which says a lot. This is fine dining, so everything was quite expensive however I only have a few recommendations. If the steak came with those delicious fries on the side, it would be a near perfect plate rather than ordering them separately. I also wish they had free soda refills. I noticed they gave us small bottles, which is a restaurant's way of saying no free refills. Everything else was quite steep, so free refills would have been nice. It affects the experience when I feel I need to ration my soda throughout the meal. These are just a few things, but not dealbreakers. The overall quality of the food and service is beyond what I could have asked for. Highly recommend checking this place out if you are in the area.

4 Star Rating Nice secret bar in Grand Central area. I just have few hours meeting up friend who works near by so it is not a lot of bar around because the area is mostly office. It took me walking 2-3 rounds to find this place but when I got in it was very crowded. No space to sit at that time so my friend and I just stand at the bar. Looks like lot of people don't want to go back home right after work so they just come to hang out here. Drink is good, confirm by my friend who is martini lover :) So I recommended.

5 Star Rating Medium sized bagel specialty shop with an extensive menu. I must've spent five minutes just trying to decide what to order. Later I learned that their online menu has pictures, which would have helped a lot. There was a ten minute queue to order but we were able to find seats quickly. The place was full of people tucking into their bagels or deep in conversation so it was a bit hard to hear when my name was called to pick up the food. The bagels, of course, were delicious. I had plain cream cheese on pumpernickel. My companion felt that the toppings on the everything bagel overwhelmed the spread. Recommended for any bagel fan near Grand Central Station which was just around the corner.

3 Star Rating I'll say this to start - if you're looking for a place to get a bagel and sit-down to plan your day, take a meeting, or just not have to eat while walking - Zucker's has a larger-than-normal seating area for NYC inside. It's clean, decent for people watching, and you can sort of hit reset while refuelling. Great bagel selection, and the schmear is tasty and consistent (I highly recommend the jalapeño honey cream cheese on a toasted everything bagel). I've heard people complain about the price of the 'schmear on the side', but if you're wanting to apply it yourself - the price isn't ridiculous as you're getting a great portion. Nothing too negative to say, but it does feel more corporate than Mom and Pop - but I have to give credit for the size of the dining-in area.

5 Star Rating Forgot to bring lunch to the office today so what’s a girl to do? Check out the local eateries of which there are so many competing interests for your green backs 💰 I’ve had their bagels for breakfast but never lunch. Well they didn’t disappoint. First time trying Zucker’s tuna melt on a freshly made garlic bagel, topped off with Swiss cheese and I added a slice of beefsteak tomato. They put the “D” in Deelish on this one! Hand rolled, premium bagels, always fresh, always satisfying. The wait is never too long and the service is with a smile. They’ve made some renovations post COVID and have a wheelchair accessible entrance and dining now which is just awesome! Just shy of $13 bucks was over my lunch budget for some tuna but hey… a Girl’s gotta treat herself every now and then without feeling guilty about it. Like I could have bought 4 cans of tuna on sale for $13 bucks kinda guilt! How blessed are we? Cheers to the good life 🥂

2 Star Rating This is one of those food hall kinds of places with lots of variety inside, built to deliver fast food for the people working in the area. They have pre-made, prepackaged, and also assembly food. The prepackaged food has some options that are more perishable than others. For example, the mochi I got was already moldy when I opened it. Pre-made hot food has a good selection, same as cold food. You can find steak, chicken, noodles, and lots of mixes. However, if you come at an off time, the food will have been sitting there and getting overcooked on the hot plate. Assembly food includes stations at the back of the store has options like udon noodle soup, fried rice, and the like. You pick proteins and vegetables to go with a generic base. It's inoffensive, ultimately just fills you up, but is nothing super amazing. Overall, this is a lunch staple spot for some people, but I would prefer to spend my lunch hour somewhere else.

4 Star Rating Lovely place for breakfast in Madison Avenue! Their coffee is super delicious and always freshly brewed! I love the hazelnut coffee ☕️ as it always has amazing after taste. The place is great for families with children as there’re many options for different breakfast preferences! There is a station for freshly made sandwiches where you can get egg sandwiches A station for prepared hot food, fruits, vegetables, oatmeal and a juicing bar. If you are there don’t miss trying their peanut butter wraps!

5 Star Rating We came here when visiting NYC 5 years ago so made a special trip back there. Huge range of items to choose from and you pay by weight, great healthy options, very busy and seems to be popular with local workers. My photo is my mix of guacamole, fish, sesame chicken, cauliflower, broccoli

4 Star Rating The meats were very well grilled, pink and juicy. The salads lacked flavour and the lavash seemed dried out. I would go back only for the mixed grill plate of meat.

4 Star Rating A party of six of us stopped in here for lunch during a business trip. The hostess did not seem very pleased when we arrived without a reservation but was still able to accommodate us. There were no guests in the restaurant when we arrived however it quickly filled up so I would definitely suggest a reservation. For appetizers we had the Pera Dip Trio, Grilled Spanish Octopus, and Portuguese Fried Calamari. All were excellent! For my main plate I had the Sirloin Shashlik Steak Frites which was marinated, seasoned, and very tender. I also enjoyed the Mediterranean Rose Sangria! The atmosphere is also very nice!

5 Star Rating Excellent food and ambience however has a weird practice of mandating order for apps and main course to be put in at the same time.

4 Star Rating We had made reservations for a table of 6 and this review is specifically for NYC Restaurant Week (2021). We got outside seating on a Friday evening for 6:30 pm on a relatively warm day. We arrived on time and were seated right away. The place was empty inside at that time and outdoor seating was slightly busy with 2 other tables occupied. We ordered a few cocktails and some beer on tap and it took longer for us to get our drinks to us, including repeat orders for beers, which our waitress forgot to put it. We ordered from the $39 per person NYC Restaurant Week menu, which included Assorted Dips Platter, Portuguese Calamari, Hand Rolled Grape Leaves, and a Maroul Salad. The Grape Leaves and Maroul Salad were absolutely delicious and were the best appetizers on the table. For mains, we got Lamb Adana, Organic Beef Burger, and Black Pepper Ricotta Gnocchi. We all cleaned out our plates, and I can confirm that the Gnocchi was absolutely filing and delicious! Our waitress was not attentive at all, but service other than that was absolutely top notch... so giving a 20% gratuity at end did suck a little bit! We might visit again for lunch or dinner!

5 Star Rating Absolutely delicious-probably the best lamp I’ve ever had. Prices are not bad and service and ambience was excellent. I went on a work lunch and everyone loved their order.
