What really stands out is the consistency. I have been ordering from here for years and the quality has never dropped, even after I moved farther away. It is the kind of place you keep coming back to because you know exactly how good it will be every single time.

The Ale House is a great place to go to have a few beers by yourself at the bar or with friends. It has a great selection—I'm partial to IPAs, and what's on offer changes frequently. The staff I know—the bartender Frank, the server Renae, and Eugene, who does both—are fine people and very friendly. The food is several steps above your average bar fare—a shoutout goes to Noë, the chef, whose specials are excellent. But if you're just looking for a burger, those are really tasty too. Also among the standard dishes is an impressive mac and cheese. Above all, the bar has character. The tin ceilings and dark wood bar and tables lend it a welcoming vibe. I've become a regular over time, and I won't go to other bars in the area anymore. The Ale House is by far the best bar in the Brooklyn Heights.

The girlfriend and I weren’t terribly impressed with this place. All the food we got was not in line with what we had expected. We were especially disappointed by the chicken tenders, which were nothing like the stereotypical chicken tender you’re going to get anywhere else. They’re battered with tiny (I mean tiny) slivers of chicken. Don’t think we will go back if we are craving bar food of any kind. Fried pickles were decent though.

Henry Street Ale House is such a great place to just chill and have a few beers. It's got the exact right vibe as far as what I'm looking at for a bar. All the staff I talked to were super interesting and engaging. Plus, as you can see, a perfect Guinness pour! Highly recommended.

What a great restaurant we really enjoyed dinner here. The service and food were amazing. They don’t take reservations and are cash only which is kind of a pain especially at this price point. There’s an ATM 1/2 a block away which you can get charged $3 to do a withdrawal.

Things you need to know before you feast here: 1. Cash only, 2. No reservations and 3. You’ll wait and it could be 20 minutes like us tonight or 45. But I must said is worth it, Brooklyn Heights is charming enough to take a nice walk while you bide one’s time. Andy was quite the star tonight, he faces some great recommendations, from the Rigatoni allá norma to the Grilled octopus which is one of the best I’ve had in some time. Just simple but delicious, was one of those dishes that on its simplicity didn’t lack any depth of flavour or character. Another favourite for me was something my husband had years ago and all this time after was still mouthwatering, the Garlic bread with Calabrian chilli get it and have it with the Meatballs. Also amazing and worth mentioning the Tre colore salad and the Hanger steak. For dessert we took home the Chocolate espresso cake order it and have a night cap or a coffee with it. So come in, share some food, listen to your server, bring the cash and enjoy a tasty cozy meal. Will be back soon!

Super cozy spot with authentic Italian food! Nothing fancy, just fantastic quality that you don’t get at a lot of other places. As a heads up: They don’t take reservations and only accept cash. I took a walk by the promenade and wanted a quick bite afterwards and I was surprised at how delicious everything was. Their biscuit was so buttery and crumbly. I was most happy with the fried chicken sandwich. Few places use a breast correctly and this was perfectly cooked and seasoned. And thank goodness because nothing is worse than unseasoned fried chicken. It came with fries, and I was looking at it disapprovingly because of how thick it was, but again, perfectly seasoned. I did not even need ketchup! The banana foster french toast was good. Definitely sweet, and may be too sweet for some. We had the juliet & romeo cocktail and the antibody, which were delicious. Kind of small for the price, but certainly nothing unusual for nyc. Looking forward for a future walk in the area so I can stop by again!

Went to Henry’s for dinner last night and it was great. We had reservations but were 30 min early, no problem they were able to seat us immediately. We started with some oysters and a few small plates to share. I had the moroccan salmon as my main it was fantastic, they offered to cook it medium rare and it was perfect. Our waiter was super helpful and patient as we looked over everything and asked a few questions about different dishes. All in all definitely a great place to come for a lovely experience.

Winter Restaurant Week Review 3/6- Recommendations for restaurant week: Apps- Goat cheese salad or pappardelle. Mains- Pomegranate duck, schnitzel, or branzini. Desserts- Persian lime pie. Lime pie is Steve's quality, and you can quote me on that. Drink: Hot Toddy with bourbon, St. Germaine, honey, lemon, and clove for $12, which was standard and helped warm me up after walking across the bridge to get there. Bread- Focaccia and olive oil to begin with. For appetizers, my favorite that didn't have an extra charge was the Pistachio Crusted Goat Cheese Salad. The highlight, of course, was the goat cheese, which was nutty and slightly funky. I wish there were more roasted beets, and otherwise, I found the dressing a bit light. For $3 extra, there was the Pappardelle with buffalo oxtail ragu, which was small but tastier. The pasta wasn't the biggest portion, but it was perfectly cooked, and the ragu had a good consistency. If you don't mind paying a bit more, I would recommend it. The remaining appetizer, the Ozark Bar-B-Q Ribs, was a bit disappointing. While I liked the sauce, which had a sweet and spicy flavor, the ribs were very tough and a bit too fatty. For the main course, my easy favorite was the Duck, which was a $6 supplement. The portion was very large, consisting of several pieces of sliced duck along with a duck breast. The sliced duck was tasty, but the larger piece was even more tender and flavorful. The sauce itself had a mild sourness and sweetness, and at the end, a few folks were mopping it up with the remaining bread. Also tasty, but $3 extra, was the Pan Roasted Branzini. The fish was cooked well, being tender with crispy skin. The beans were mildly cooked and still had some texture, and I particularly liked the fish with the escarole, as the mild bitterness worked well. This was pleasant but perhaps a bit mild, and I think a light sauce would have helped, possibly with garlic and other ingredients. We also got Grilled Scottish Salmon with three mustards, cream, and horseradish. The fish was cooked nicely again, but I found it a bit too pungent. The remaining dish with supplements, the Venison Bourguignon, was good, though a bit small compared to the other dishes. This was $6 extra, and the meat itself was tender, while the sauce was rich. I found it just a little bit salty, and I presume that was from the bacon, but it was good and honestly better than many of the generic bistros in the city. Speaking of bacon, we also got an $8 side of Brussels Sprouts, which were decent. The best main dish sans supplement was the Chicken Schnitzel. The chicken had a nice light breading and was very tender. The mushrooms added earthiness, and the mashed potatoes were soft and buttery. Also lightly fried, but worse was the Veal Lemonese. Outside of sauce preferences, as both were prepared well, the veal was unfortunately much less tender. For dessert, most of us got their highly recommended Persian Lime Pie. Instead of being a wide piece, this was more of a pie jar, similar to how Mia's in Cobble Hill, among other locations, serves it. However, the comparisons end there, with the flavors being much better. The filling had a perfect mix of sourness and sweetness. In terms of NYC, this was honestly the closest thing to Steve's Key Lime Pie that I've had. Another person had the Flourless Chocolate Hazelnut Cake, which was a bit above average but not comparable to the pie. We overall had a pretty good meal here at this neighborhood spot. It's not the best for any particular dish, but it was mostly worth it for the price, especially if you don't mind paying extra for some things. Mid 3 bumped up.

I’m not big on a sit in dinners, so when someone mentioned a place that serves wild game, like not a situation where a friend shot a deer and now there’s to many steaks, but surly qualified, the other dish my friend had gotten was turtle soup, she seemed disappointed because there wasn’t chunks of turtle…? It’s a soup, not a stew… and then the qual (not mine) I was told was good, but she was confused were the ribs were… I had to tell them that it’s commonly removed in order to stuff what is potentially a song bird, and last but not least was the elk! I never had elk but I have had that ~friends deer~ and I love mustard so I kinda new what was walking into, but I wasn’t expecting it to be straight to pure heaven, if I could have just a rack, made this way, I would die a happy woman! 4 dinners and a drink came to about 215… they don’t leave prices on the menu so you know you eating top notch. I come from Thomaston CT, my partner lives in Catskills, and our other friend came from road island, so we came a distance, and tho it was tiring, I would go back for 3 helpings of that elk I’m still dreaming about.

We’ve spent a week in NYC. Tried different places for breakfast and dinner. At Vineapple, we had our best breakfast and best dinner. The place is cozy, people are nice. The music was nice at Friday evening. You should definitely try this place.

Authentic local cafe in Brooklyn Heights with unique vibes throughout—from the coffee and sweets to staff hospitality, merch, and decor. Love it! I popped in for a quick stop-and-go to tackle some emails and sip a black coffee, and I was tempted by their banana and chocolate loaf... delicious! I gotta come back to enjoy a proper brunch! Great place for a brunch and it's close to Brooklyn heights so you can walk a little bit after your brunch 😉 I enjoy my time here, the food was good, they have a wonderful back garden, which you have to come down through stairs, so just watch out for that. This is a must go in Brooklyn NY. The Neapolitan with pepperoni🍕is my go to. Is thin, soft, charred crust and crispy bottom. The Sicilian pizza is thick, airy, square or rectangular (like focaccia) fluffy and crisp bottom. Both options are delicious 😋 They accept now credit card 💳 no more only cash 💵

Really good classic nyc style pizza. I got the cheapest slice which was the non Sicilian one, and it’s the one that’s flat and crisp. It was good and not too oily. I got two and it was very filling. I’d go there early because they ran out of the Sicilian, so they must run out of the popular slices when it gets late

Found Bevacco totally by accident while looking for dinner, thought the vibe looked cool, and I am so glad I walked in. One of those rare random finds that actually lives up to the hype. The food and drinks were so good. The gnocchi deserves its own shoutout. Hands down the best gnocchi I have had in NYC. Perfectly pillowy, rich, and comforting without being heavy. I would go back for that dish alone. We tried a few different cocktails and every single one hit. Well balanced, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Nothing felt phoned in. Great energy, great food, great drinks. Bevacco is officially on my Brooklyn favorites list. Highly recommend. 🍝🍸

We ate at this restaurant on Saturday; there were four of us. It was a nice restaurant, but the staff were in a hurry to free up the table, so they made us eat quickly. We ordered meat as our main course and were served a tiny piece of meat with mashed potatoes, but there was more mashed potato than meat, and we paid $40. It seemed far too expensive for a dish with so little meat, which wasn’t even that great.

One of the best places around for a casual, inexpensive (for NYC) breakfast or lunch. They have a large selection to cater to everyone’s taste. Don’t be scared to wait for a table. I have been there a couple of times and enjoyed it both times. I recommend it.

My brother told us about this place and so we surprised him on his graduation. Our server was a young man named Carlos, and when I tell you his service was amazing I'm not even exaggerating. First off, when we entered we were greeted with smiles and everyone told my brother congratulations on his graduation! We were then seated at our table and had our orders taken. I'm not usually a salad person but when I tell you the salad I ordered was BEAUTIFUL- it was fresh, shining bright like diamonds and tasted as good as it looked! I was shedding tears of happiness lol- side note I'm also not a huge fan of bulimic vinegar based dressings but this tasted so good with the salad. Fast forward to the meal which I had steak tips with rice, onions and green peppers. The steak was SOFT, and JUICY! Then I asked Carlos his recommendations on the chocolate cakes. I brought mine home and my gosh the chocolate mousse cake delicious! Carlos and the other servers were so nice and amazing! We will definitely be back!

A typical Brooklyn restaurant experience. It took us more than 20 minutes to find a parking spot, but we eventually made it. The menu is extensive, offering plenty of options at fairly reasonable prices. The food portions were generous, though nothing particularly remarkable. Overall, a pleasant visit with a clean setting and friendly staff.

Found this Japanese gem during lunch break from jury duty. Staff are friendly & attentive. Price is reasonable for the neighborhood. I'm a sucker for tempura ice cream, so that's the other reason I was willing to walk 10 minutes from the courthouse 😜

Omg and Iron chef of sushi … never see one of this in person before.. this sushi was so delicious and the price very affordable. The size of this place make it so cozy. Perfect for a first date in Brooklyn I would say. This time around I was we 2 friends . We share our plates. We laugh. We are so good. The menu is beautiful. Very recommend this place

This cute spot in Brooklyn was recommended to me from a friend who said it is a must stop during my trip to NY. I can tell you I was beyond impressed with how delicious my meal was. I ordered the falafel sandwich with everything and I devoured it! In addition to an amazing meal, the service was excellent! I was greeted with a smile and all the people serving were happy and kind. Wholesome little lunch spot we stumbled upon during the afternoon of Christmas Eve. Big portions. Generous with the hummus. Got a chicken shawarma plate that came with a generous serving of hummus and a refreshing salad. The chicken was crispy and well seasoned, the rice was delicious. Ordered take out for dinner as well, and the lentil soup was also really tasty. The owner gave us a free baklava on the house too, which is the best I’ve tasted so far. Glad to have found this spot. Locals really love them.

I'll get my one gripe out of the way first. The menu is hard to read so I thought the price for the falafel plate was either $8.50 or $18.50 (which seemed unlikely). In the end they charged me $10.90. If I look really closely I guess I can see $10.50, but don't really know where the other 40 cents came from. Regardless, it was still a very good value especially because I got two meals out of it. It's a friendly spot with a few tables to eat at and the sandwiches are all under $10.

A small joint and we took some time to find it. Ramen was good, not the best, but still good. We tried the Plum wine (10% alc) and it was gooood. Takoyaki was nice. We also tried the Crab bun. It had a soft shell which was crunchy but the shell does not have much taste. It was my first time having the soft shell crab bao. Service was fast and smooth.

$20 for this is such a ripoff. Two tiny pieces of Chasu that is equal to one. Taste is subpar, noodles texture not great. Broth is alright. Not saying it’s terrible but probably nor worth a visit.

Really good ramen! It’s slightly too fatty and oily but a solid 8/10. The fried chicken was a bit disappointing, size of the meat wasn’t at a good ratio. The eggplant was really good, nice miso dressing. The Spider Crab Buns was a nice surprise, good crunch to go with the soft bun. Overall, solid!

The best!!! Loved everything about this place, from the hole in the wall vibe to the excellent service to every bite exceeding my expectations. The octopus balls are a must (just trust me!). The kimchi ramen is a dupe for a favorite I’ve had before and I loved every spoonful of that amazing broth. This will become a regular spot for sure. Also love that they have a small selection of wines and sake but also the regular sodas. Absolutely delicious, could not recommend more!
