What really stands out is the consistency. I have been ordering from here for years and the quality has never dropped, even after I moved farther away. It is the kind of place you keep coming back to because you know exactly how good it will be every single time.

The Ale House is a great place to go to have a few beers by yourself at the bar or with friends. It has a great selection—I'm partial to IPAs, and what's on offer changes frequently. The staff I know—the bartender Frank, the server Renae, and Eugene, who does both—are fine people and very friendly. The food is several steps above your average bar fare—a shoutout goes to Noë, the chef, whose specials are excellent. But if you're just looking for a burger, those are really tasty too. Also among the standard dishes is an impressive mac and cheese. Above all, the bar has character. The tin ceilings and dark wood bar and tables lend it a welcoming vibe. I've become a regular over time, and I won't go to other bars in the area anymore. The Ale House is by far the best bar in the Brooklyn Heights.

The girlfriend and I weren’t terribly impressed with this place. All the food we got was not in line with what we had expected. We were especially disappointed by the chicken tenders, which were nothing like the stereotypical chicken tender you’re going to get anywhere else. They’re battered with tiny (I mean tiny) slivers of chicken. Don’t think we will go back if we are craving bar food of any kind. Fried pickles were decent though.

Henry Street Ale House is such a great place to just chill and have a few beers. It's got the exact right vibe as far as what I'm looking at for a bar. All the staff I talked to were super interesting and engaging. Plus, as you can see, a perfect Guinness pour! Highly recommended.

What a great restaurant we really enjoyed dinner here. The service and food were amazing. They don’t take reservations and are cash only which is kind of a pain especially at this price point. There’s an ATM 1/2 a block away which you can get charged $3 to do a withdrawal.

Things you need to know before you feast here: 1. Cash only, 2. No reservations and 3. You’ll wait and it could be 20 minutes like us tonight or 45. But I must said is worth it, Brooklyn Heights is charming enough to take a nice walk while you bide one’s time. Andy was quite the star tonight, he faces some great recommendations, from the Rigatoni allá norma to the Grilled octopus which is one of the best I’ve had in some time. Just simple but delicious, was one of those dishes that on its simplicity didn’t lack any depth of flavour or character. Another favourite for me was something my husband had years ago and all this time after was still mouthwatering, the Garlic bread with Calabrian chilli get it and have it with the Meatballs. Also amazing and worth mentioning the Tre colore salad and the Hanger steak. For dessert we took home the Chocolate espresso cake order it and have a night cap or a coffee with it. So come in, share some food, listen to your server, bring the cash and enjoy a tasty cozy meal. Will be back soon!

Went to Henry’s for dinner last night and it was great. We had reservations but were 30 min early, no problem they were able to seat us immediately. We started with some oysters and a few small plates to share. I had the moroccan salmon as my main it was fantastic, they offered to cook it medium rare and it was perfect. Our waiter was super helpful and patient as we looked over everything and asked a few questions about different dishes. All in all definitely a great place to come for a lovely experience.

Winter Restaurant Week Review 3/6- Recommendations for restaurant week: Apps- Goat cheese salad or pappardelle. Mains- Pomegranate duck, schnitzel, or branzini. Desserts- Persian lime pie. Lime pie is Steve's quality, and you can quote me on that. Drink: Hot Toddy with bourbon, St. Germaine, honey, lemon, and clove for $12, which was standard and helped warm me up after walking across the bridge to get there. Bread- Focaccia and olive oil to begin with. For appetizers, my favorite that didn't have an extra charge was the Pistachio Crusted Goat Cheese Salad. The highlight, of course, was the goat cheese, which was nutty and slightly funky. I wish there were more roasted beets, and otherwise, I found the dressing a bit light. For $3 extra, there was the Pappardelle with buffalo oxtail ragu, which was small but tastier. The pasta wasn't the biggest portion, but it was perfectly cooked, and the ragu had a good consistency. If you don't mind paying a bit more, I would recommend it. The remaining appetizer, the Ozark Bar-B-Q Ribs, was a bit disappointing. While I liked the sauce, which had a sweet and spicy flavor, the ribs were very tough and a bit too fatty. For the main course, my easy favorite was the Duck, which was a $6 supplement. The portion was very large, consisting of several pieces of sliced duck along with a duck breast. The sliced duck was tasty, but the larger piece was even more tender and flavorful. The sauce itself had a mild sourness and sweetness, and at the end, a few folks were mopping it up with the remaining bread. Also tasty, but $3 extra, was the Pan Roasted Branzini. The fish was cooked well, being tender with crispy skin. The beans were mildly cooked and still had some texture, and I particularly liked the fish with the escarole, as the mild bitterness worked well. This was pleasant but perhaps a bit mild, and I think a light sauce would have helped, possibly with garlic and other ingredients. We also got Grilled Scottish Salmon with three mustards, cream, and horseradish. The fish was cooked nicely again, but I found it a bit too pungent. The remaining dish with supplements, the Venison Bourguignon, was good, though a bit small compared to the other dishes. This was $6 extra, and the meat itself was tender, while the sauce was rich. I found it just a little bit salty, and I presume that was from the bacon, but it was good and honestly better than many of the generic bistros in the city. Speaking of bacon, we also got an $8 side of Brussels Sprouts, which were decent. The best main dish sans supplement was the Chicken Schnitzel. The chicken had a nice light breading and was very tender. The mushrooms added earthiness, and the mashed potatoes were soft and buttery. Also lightly fried, but worse was the Veal Lemonese. Outside of sauce preferences, as both were prepared well, the veal was unfortunately much less tender. For dessert, most of us got their highly recommended Persian Lime Pie. Instead of being a wide piece, this was more of a pie jar, similar to how Mia's in Cobble Hill, among other locations, serves it. However, the comparisons end there, with the flavors being much better. The filling had a perfect mix of sourness and sweetness. In terms of NYC, this was honestly the closest thing to Steve's Key Lime Pie that I've had. Another person had the Flourless Chocolate Hazelnut Cake, which was a bit above average but not comparable to the pie. We overall had a pretty good meal here at this neighborhood spot. It's not the best for any particular dish, but it was mostly worth it for the price, especially if you don't mind paying extra for some things. Mid 3 bumped up.

Customer service was wonderful. Went with my partner to try the 40th annual game festival phase 1. Biggest con is the portion sizes compared to the price point. The pro is being able to try special wild game that many other places dont have, but also, everything but 1-2 dishes were very average and forgettable. Overall a fun experience, but not sure if it’s worth the money. Wild boar potstickers - it was good but it just tasted like a pork dumpling, nothing exciting. I would order again if it wasn’t $21 for 4 pieces. New orleans turtle soup - super tasty but again, it kind of just tasted like a tomato soup with some ground beef. some crackers wouldve gone great with it to add some texture as well. Stuffed quail - texture was perfect, outside was slightly crispy but easy to cut through. the sauce that came with it on the plate was the star. not worth $45 to me personally but defintely something to try at least once. Vension - absolutely delicious! one of my favorites of the whole meal. our waiter gave us a little fork to get the marrow out of bone and that was the cherry on top. could have ate 3 of these plates. very savory. kind of tasted like beef stew? Antelope - my first time trying and I wasnt the biggest fan of the texture but the taste of the antelope with the potato and sauce was delicious. hard to explain what the taste is but at $49, defintely a fun special treat yourself dish. Elk chops - have never tasted something like this beforr and the herb murturd crust was perfect. 2 chops for $61 but it was definitely worth it. I would order it again and kind of crazy but definitely worth the price in my opinion. Also got the Henry Burger as my partner loves burgers and we always try to get a burger to go when we go out but it was very bland and not noteworthy. We also asked for medium but it came out more well done. Fries were crunchy and crispy!

Albert was a wonderful and attentive server. The steak au Poivre was fantastic and rivals the best steak I've had. They have indoor and limited outdoor seating along with various beer and cocktails. They do accept reservations, which I would recommend for dinner.

Fantastic brunch on a Monday! Surprisingly, it got pretty busy for lunch on a Monday, so I can only imagine how busy it gets on a weekend. This is a cozy spot to sit and catch up over lunch or also work remotely. They have a lot of specialty cafe drinks that sound really fun to try. I got the sea salt maple matcha and I enjoyed those flavor combinations a lot. I ordered the lunch special with the sandwich and the soup. For sandwich, I ordered the turkey club which had seasonal ingredients like the squash and was reminiscent of a thanksgiving meal in a sandwich. The soup was the butternut squash which is seasonal. It was the perfect amount of food leaving me feeling full but not too full. Servers were really friendly and accommodating. We did have to ask a couple times for water refills, and we were a table of 4 so the carafe would empty faster of course.

Was looking for a fun brunch/lunch spot and came across this place. They had a lot of indoor seating but we wanted to sit outside. The hostess walked us out towards the back and it was kind of hidden backyard vibe that was very lowkey. Our male server was so friendly, funny and had a great personality. We had some small requests and he was able to make it happen for us which goes a long way. The coffees were great and they had some nice healthy options. I got the club and soup combo which I enjoyed because it was the perfect amount of food. Their fresh juices were also refreshing and we had a great time altogether.

Excellent spot for brunch! Would love to come back and try for another time of day as well. Strong service, cute spot, fantastic food, and one of the best bloody mary's I've had (well, actually, it was the bloody maria)! - Bloody Maria (came with prosciutto, so good!) - Eggs Benedict - Roasted pepper hollandaise, poached eggs, prosciutto di parma on a fluffy buttermilk biscuit. Served with mixed greens. - Affogato (wasn't technically on their brunch menu, but it was on their cafe menu) Would definitely hit this place up again.

Lovely servers, adorable inside I personally believe paying $60 for 2 breakfast sandwiches and 2 coffees + tip should be a punishable offense. However it was delicious. Just not the hashbrowns. Don't worry about paying $7 for a side of them. Would go again.

This is a must go in Brooklyn NY. The Neapolitan with pepperoni🍕is my go to. Is thin, soft, charred crust and crispy bottom. The Sicilian pizza is thick, airy, square or rectangular (like focaccia) fluffy and crisp bottom. Both options are delicious 😋 They accept now credit card 💳 no more only cash 💵

Really good classic nyc style pizza. I got the cheapest slice which was the non Sicilian one, and it’s the one that’s flat and crisp. It was good and not too oily. I got two and it was very filling. I’d go there early because they ran out of the Sicilian, so they must run out of the popular slices when it gets late

If you like a crispy slice then look no further! Great low-key little place serving some really solid pizza. I’d give it 8/10. The base is just special. It’s almost like fried toast in its texture but still keeps that fresh doughy flavour. The topping and sauce is a little forgettable but sprinkle it up with plenty of added seasoning and enjoy that crisp!

It’s a great slice shop. They need to instruct staff to wash hands or wear gloves. The guy rang me up and took my money and made change then used his bare hands that were just making change to put pepperoni on my slice. No hand washing. No gloves.

$4 slices (at the time of writing) with a walk up window. Sure, if you’re looking for a fancy brick oven pizza with trendy toppings — this ain’t it, but for a quick and dirty greasy NYC pizza this is a good option. Oh and they also now accept credit card. Lot of old reviews mention them not doing that.

Found Bevacco totally by accident while looking for dinner, thought the vibe looked cool, and I am so glad I walked in. One of those rare random finds that actually lives up to the hype. The food and drinks were so good. The gnocchi deserves its own shoutout. Hands down the best gnocchi I have had in NYC. Perfectly pillowy, rich, and comforting without being heavy. I would go back for that dish alone. We tried a few different cocktails and every single one hit. Well balanced, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Nothing felt phoned in. Great energy, great food, great drinks. Bevacco is officially on my Brooklyn favorites list. Highly recommend. 🍝🍸

We had an amazing dinner. The restaurant has great ambiance and not loud. The service was great and the food was delicious and menu had awesome variety of food for everyone to find something they loved. We enjoyed our night and never felt rushed or hurried out. I love it here - it’s cute/decorated classy. it’s brunch- it’s good dinner & the wait staff have always been friendly They make housemade Focaccia when I knew of the spot & when I returned they even have some of the same staff like after decade + of being open and surviving covid. I love the staff because I was one forever ago They used fresh basil - Italian spot no fresh basil would be a sin. Fennel radicchio salad is great!

A typical Brooklyn restaurant experience. It took us more than 20 minutes to find a parking spot, but we eventually made it. The menu is extensive, offering plenty of options at fairly reasonable prices. The food portions were generous, though nothing particularly remarkable. Overall, a pleasant visit with a clean setting and friendly staff.

Would have loved to eat here, but they refused to make my order. I requested the chicken parmesan, except I wanted alfredo sauce instead of marinara. After I ordered the manager came to my table and said the kitchen would not do that. I explained that I wanted the breaded chicken cutlet from the chicken parmesan, except I wanted alfredo on the pasta instead of marinara. They flatly refused. They offered fettuccine Alfredo with a side of chicken tenders. When I asked why I couldn't get the culet, I was told they just wouldn't do it. I was willing to pay for the change, but that didn't matter. I've never heard of such a refusal! Very disappointed. Ended up finishing my hot chocolate and moving to another restaurant for my meal.

Service was great and atmosphere was awesome. Wasn't a huge fan of the salmon miso soup though, it was too hot and there were too many veges inside. The sushi was very good, but I felt the special spicy tuna roll had a little too much rice compared to fish. The dinner combo was great though, terriaki steak was very well cooked. I would come back

Omg and Iron chef of sushi … never see one of this in person before.. this sushi was so delicious and the price very affordable. The size of this place make it so cozy. Perfect for a first date in Brooklyn I would say. This time around I was we 2 friends . We share our plates. We laugh. We are so good. The menu is beautiful. Very recommend this place

Wholesome little lunch spot we stumbled upon during the afternoon of Christmas Eve. Big portions. Generous with the hummus. Got a chicken shawarma plate that came with a generous serving of hummus and a refreshing salad. The chicken was crispy and well seasoned, the rice was delicious. Ordered take out for dinner as well, and the lentil soup was also really tasty. The owner gave us a free baklava on the house too, which is the best I’ve tasted so far. Glad to have found this spot. Locals really love them.

My expectations were higher given the high ratings of the restaurant. We bought two platters, no sauce. Rice was tasteless. I wish they had regular white sauce, not tahini. Without sauce, the chicken was underwhelming. I was not impressed with humus either. We could not finds our platters. Overall, the food was disappointing. The person who made the food was friendly.

A small joint and we took some time to find it. Ramen was good, not the best, but still good. We tried the Plum wine (10% alc) and it was gooood. Takoyaki was nice. We also tried the Crab bun. It had a soft shell which was crunchy but the shell does not have much taste. It was my first time having the soft shell crab bao. Service was fast and smooth.

The tonkatsu ramen was okay. Very standard. But the place smells sooo musty and like mildew. Felt sick being in there. They need to work on the air circulation.

Really good ramen! It’s slightly too fatty and oily but a solid 8/10. The fried chicken was a bit disappointing, size of the meat wasn’t at a good ratio. The eggplant was really good, nice miso dressing. The Spider Crab Buns was a nice surprise, good crunch to go with the soft bun. Overall, solid!
