4 Star Rating I've been wanting to try Shuka for a while, and I finally got the chance! We decided to go all in with the Shuka Feast, and it was absolutely worth it--delicious and plentiful. Here are some highlights: The fried halloumi, a semi-sweet fried cheese, was incredible--an instant favorite. Among the dips, the labne with tangerine and honey and the squash moutabel stood out as top-notch. The turmeric rice was a standout too, packed with flavor from cranberries and fried onions--I couldn't get enough of it! The Niman Ranch sirloin steak, while slightly tough and chewy, delivered fantastic flavor, and the grilled lamb was another solid choice. The za'atar fries were tasty, and we also tried the spit-roasted chicken shawarma. While the chicken was juicy, it didn't quite win me over and could've been skipped. Service was excellent--attentive and welcoming. Overall, the food was really good, and I'd definitely return. Highly recommend! :)

5 Star Rating Been here many times and food is always so delicious! Highly recommend. Spacious restaurant and airy, outdoor seating for spring. Food: Consistently delicious. This time we got two dips and the Fattoush Salad- good portions sizes and filling. Service: Usually a bit slow, but not an issue since usually we come here to hang out. I wouldn’t go here if you’re trying to get in and out though- their staff seem to be slim for all the tables they need to wait on. Atmosphere: Excellent. Good seating options for small groups or big groups. Indoor and outdoor options available too. This place always gets packed though so go during off times or put in a reservation.

5 Star Rating Nailed every aspect of the dinner. We sat outside on a Friday night. The drinks came out as soon as the waiter went back inside. Food came out just as fast. The feta pistachio and fava dips are flavorful and light. Presentation was very colorful and fresh. Lamb kebabs and Ras El Hanout kebabs were both perfectly cooked, not dry not under done. Served with fresh greens. The spicy sauce is like a fresh Sambal, very nice. The frozen Liminata was not too sweet, very nice. Best meal I've had in a long time. Friday night chefs and service was on their A game.

5 Star Rating The cocktail with the sesame was unbelievably balanced, delicious and refreshing. Our server was so patient and helpful. We followed his recommendations and shared a dish for each course. Honestly, I wish we lived closer so we could return regularly. Our table was outdoors - it reminded me of the European cafes we've enjoyed; the communal and multi cultural awesomeness.

5 Star Rating Really excellent place to come! Notable mentions: - the coffee was surprisingly good, a 7.8 flat white served up! - the Key Line Donut 🍩 was the best dish we had, great softness and flavour to sweetness ratio! The other dishes were good but not great. - Fried Chicken crust was too crunchy and fell off the meat easily - the deviled eggs were perfectly average - the frittata was good but had too much cheese and not enough crusting

5 Star Rating Five star food and service. We were very pleasantly surprised by the duck meatloaf; not something you find often on the menu. The rest of the food tasted great too - hummus, steak tartare (of which we ordered two, the second one for dessert), and the strip steak. There is a $55 corkage fee per bottle (we were told $50 on the phone in case you hear the same).

4 Star Rating I was recently here for dinner and my experience was pretty good. Our server was very friendly and most of the food was delicious. The crab deviled eggs were a delicious appetizer. For my entree I ordered the burger, which was not great. I did try some of the fried chicken and biscuits, and they were delicious. Overall my experience was positive and I would return, but I would not get the burger again.

5 Star Rating We accidently found this place to have a late lunch/dinner while visiting the area. What a great find. Great atmosphere. Really great waiter and delish food. We started with drinks and devil eggs stuffed with crabmeat. Delish flavor profile. Then we tried the glazed butter biscuit delish. Smoked ricotta pasta and the lobster pasta. All delsih. The strawberry rhubarb pie and chocolate cookies were perfect with the Cappuccino. Our waiter Justin was adorable and perfectly attentive to our every need. The menu was small but perfect because we each found something to enjoy.

Very nice atmosphere - but it is very loud. The service was very good as well. If you need an Italian restaurant in the Village - Aria is a great choice. (We went again recently - and again everything was great. It was much less busy and super pleasant.)

5 Star Rating Aria Wine Bar is one of our all-time favorite spots in NYC — we’ve been loyal customers for over 12 years and it never disappoints! The food is always delicious, truly like being back in Italy 🇮🇹 The atmosphere is warm and vibrant, and the service is consistently amazing — friendly, fast, and full of charm. The only (tiny!) downside this time: no mayonnaise for the calamari fritti. I’m not a fan of dipping them in warm tomato sauce. But honestly, everything else was perfect as always. Aria remains a must-visit in the West Village. Thank you for all these wonderful memories over the years! 🥂🍝💛

5 Star Rating Fresh, well executed dishes in a stylish West Village setting We stumbled upon Market Table for dinner, drawn in by its modern, minimalistic decor. The ambiance is inviting and understated, perfect for a relaxed evening out. The food was fresh and beautifully presented, with solid flavors, though nothing particularly unique or standout overall. The beet tart like starter was the highlight of the meal and is definitely worth trying if you’re a fan of beets. Service was quick and efficient, and while prices are on the higher side, it’s to be expected in the West Village. A good spot for a clean, seasonal meal in a stylish setting.

4 Star Rating This was our second visit to this restaurant, returning after a year with high expectations. We had been told that the menu had undergone changes, but in reality, it remained virtually identical to our previous visit. Not necessarily a bad thing—unless you were hoping for something new. We started with the Brooklyn Burrata and the carpaccio. Both appetizers were outstanding: incredibly fresh, beautifully plated, and packed with flavor. The seasoning was spot-on, and the accompanying sauces added a creative and well-executed twist. It was a strong start that set the bar high. For our main courses, we ordered the crispy chicken and the roasted halibut. The chicken dish was overall a hit—crispy skin, tender and juicy meat—but it fell short on seasoning. A touch more salt would have elevated it from good to exceptional. The halibut came with an artful presentation, nestled among vibrant peas, but unfortunately, the flavor didn’t match the visuals. It was a bit bland and underwhelming despite its polished appearance. We also ordered a bottle of Ca’ Furlan Prosecco, which was fine—light and refreshing—but after a quick lookup, we discovered it retails for about $10. Being charged $56 for it left a bit of a sour taste. A 2–3x markup is standard in restaurants, but a 5x increase feels excessive and borderline exploitative. Service, on the other hand, was excellent. Attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the night. All in all, a mixed experience: high marks for presentation and appetizers, but the mains and drink pricing could use some fine-tuning. Would we return? Possibly—but we’d go in with managed expectations and maybe skip the wine list.

2 Star Rating A former shell of its pre Covid glory. Only IPA’s on draft and Budweiser as the only bottle/can option. Date ordered white wine and the one bottle they had was warm. The bartender said it was on the house which was nice but he knew that it was a ramshackle operation. A shame because it used to be my favorite neighborhood bar. Not sure what the deal is but hope it passes on to new owners soon.

4 Star Rating The food and drinks at The Brooklyneer were pretty good! The prices of drinks themselves were a little high I felt, but food prices were decent so overall it wasn't a crazy bill for a group of us. There are waves of crowd size at any given time, it's either empty or packed, I have yet to experience an in-between. The big negative here is the table service. Drinks took a half-hour to come out, going straight to the bar was within a minute or two every time.

4 Star Rating My friend and I came across this place on a Sunday evening. The hostess seated us right away. We ordered the Birria empanadas for starters - so good! For our entrees, I ordered the market plate: salmon with asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes, and my friend ordered the market plate: salmon teriyaki with Brussels sprouts and garlic mashed potatoes. We weren’t too pleased with the salmon (tasted a little too fishy for our liking and was very bland); however, our veggies were pretty good. I don’t think I’d order the salmon again - I’d try another type of protein. Overall, this place was good. The staff were very attentive and quick, which we appreciated. I’d give this place another shot and order a different dish.

5 Star Rating Visited for dinner on a weekday evening. Was pretty busy when we got there but they managed to seat us as a large party without a reservation (we got lucky I think). Service was spot on and attentive. Consensus across the table was that the food was excellent with decently sized portions. Buffalo chicken, and the cheeseburger, were standouts though. Only thing I would say is that it was pretty noisy on our visit. So much so we had to shout to have any conversations. I'm sure for lots of people that's not an issue :)

5 Star Rating One hundred years ago, long before craft beer taps and truffle fries, the building at 222 West Houston Street served a grittier, more functional purpose—it was a garage and stable, a vital cog in New York City’s infrastructure at a time when horsepower still referred to actual horses. Built in the early 1900s, the space was designed for practicality: thick brick walls, cavernous ceilings supported by hulking wooden beams, and wide-open floors that could accommodate wagons, carts, and eventually, those newfangled automobiles. You can almost still hear the clatter of hooves and the hiss of steam if you listen hard enough beneath the ambient indie rock and the clink of pint glasses. Today, that same space has been reborn as Houston Hall—a sprawling, high-ceilinged beer hall that still wears its industrial history with pride. The exposed beams and raw brick aren’t decorative; they’re authentic remnants of a New York built on muscle and grit. It’s a transformation Sir Patrick Stewart might call “a most noble repurposing”—and I’d call “a damn smart use of square footage in this part of the Village.” This place really resonates with me. It has that vibe that is rustic but not rough, spacious but still intimate when the crowd hits its rhythm. The beer selection, brewed by Greenpoint Beer Works, leans into approachable craft styles rather than obscure brewing one-upmanship. Think hazy IPAs, crisp lagers, and a rotating seasonal brew that gives the regulars something to look forward to. Food? Solid bar fare with a few flourishes. The truffle grilled cheese gets mentions, as does the soft pretzel with beer cheese. No one's mistaking this for a fine dining establishment, but for a beer hall built in the bones of a turn-of-the-century garage, the kitchen holds its own. Service is brisk and friendly—occasional chaos, but that’s par for the course when you’re dealing with large tables with non-homogeneous diners and pitchers of pale ale. The acoustics, courtesy of that soaring ceiling, can turn raucous quickly, so if you're looking for a quiet conversation, go early or aim for a weekday. Or definitely a weekday later in the evening, it seems to quiet down pretty quickly. In sum: Houston Hall is a celebration of old bones and new brews. A place where the past hasn’t been erased—it’s been repurposed, revitalized, and handed a flight of beer. One could raise a glass and say, in both reverence and delight: make it malty.

3 Star Rating Although the service was good, I was quite disappointed by the food at Houston Hall. We weren't really hungry so we ordered the mushroom pizza to share. The pizza is sub-par and a big mistake knowing that Song 'E Napule is a few blocks east. The beer selection is very generic and the menu didn't specify where the beers come from so I assume they're local beer. Although they have Maß at the hall, I couldn't find any German beer on the menu. We were there on Wednesday after work and did not know that a flood of people from the running meetup usually go there after their run. I'd avoid this place for these reasons.

5 Star Rating I recently visited Houston Hall for happy hour, and it was a fantastic experience! The manager Ivan is fantastic - he is very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is amazing, with a massive beer hall and brew pub vibe located in New York City's historic West Village. I ordered my go-to classic, a Moscow Mule, which was perfectly crafted. The highlight of my visit, though, was the Big Plate Nachos. They came loaded with three-bean chili, grilled mixed veggies, a secret spice combo, and melted Jack & cheddar. The tortillas were fried in-house, making the nachos super delicious. Although the vegan chili was super yummy, I opted for meat on mine, and it did not disappoint. Houston Hall's happy hour runs from Tuesday to Friday, 4 pm to 8 pm, and all day Sunday. With an exclusive selection of craft beers, specialty cocktails, and homemade tavern fare, it's the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy some great food and drinks. Highly recommend!

3 Star Rating Great spot if you're looking for a sandwich shop with a whole lot of options (paninis and pastas) but it's more functional than fresh and healthy. Their juices are very reasonably priced, just the overall vibe isn't my cup of tea. They have a few super food options and it's a large space stocked with lots of quick bites to chose from, but personally I appreciate very fresh options (& more gluten free friendly).

5 Star Rating We had a great dining experience at Hudson Clearwater on our trip to NYC. The service and food were both amazing, and the restaurant was in a great location. I had a latte and a fried egg and cheese sandwich, and very much enjoyed every bit. We were very happy with our brunch experience, and would recommend a visit to anyone in the area!

4 Star Rating Much improved food. Little gem Caesar salad good. Duroc pork chop really well presented. Duck tasty. Sides of artichokes and sweet potatoes really good.

5 Star Rating Amazing experience! Nathan behind the bar was awesome! From recommending food to the recommendations on drinks, everything was phenomenal! Thanks to Nate, this will be my new brunch spot on thursdays, because there's many more things to try! I had the grapefruit brulee and the duck confit hash! Both were great, but now I can't wait to try the new options!

4 Star Rating Great setting and service, outdoor is A+ catch up spot in warmer weather. Food is executed to a high standard, not a fan of all the dishes but from the searing of the steak to the grilling of the eggplant it is done with care.
