Dining at Daniel was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. I did the 5-course tasting menu, and every dish was beautifully crafted and absolutely delicious—elevated without being overly fussy.
The service was beyond awesome—so warm, attentive, and polished. As a special touch, I even got to tour the kitchen and see where the chefs work their magic, including a peek at Chef Daniel Boulud’s office! That behind-the-scenes moment made the night feel even more special.
If you’re looking for fine dining that delivers on both flavor and experience, Daniel is a must.

The experience at Daniel begins even before you sit at the table. Days before my visit, I received a thoughtful email from Penn, who personally welcomed me with great warmth on the day of the reservation — a gesture of hospitality that already reflects the restaurant’s standard of excellence.
While waiting for my companion, I went to the bar and accepted a recommendation from one of the staff to try a signature cocktail. A perfect choice: balanced, sophisticated, and full of personality — the drink set the tone for the culinary journey that would follow.
In the main dining room, we were welcomed by Allan, whose impeccable service elevated the entire evening. With technical mastery and evident passion, he introduced each dish with rich detail, providing context about the ingredients, techniques, and origins. Each course was a true sensory exploration — complex flavors, refined presentation, and surprising textures.
At the end of the dinner, we had the opportunity to visit the kitchen. The space conveyed discipline and organization, reflecting the same care present in every dish served.
Without a doubt, Daniel delivers a high-level gastronomic experience, defined by attention to detail and the dedication of the entire team. A truly special evening in one of New York’s Michelin-starred classics.
We chose the 5-course tasting menu.

Restaurant Daniel is an exquisite slice of heaven on earth. True artistry! We have dined here many times now over the years and it is without a doubt one of the finest restaurants we have ever had the pleasure to experience. Start to finish, it is sheer joy to behold. The service is impeccable, and the ambiance is stunning, yet relaxing all at once. We were there to celebrate a birthday and the staff couldn't have made it more special. We were even invited to tour the kitchen at the end of our meal, something I will never forget. There aren't enough accolades to describe how truly special dining at Daniel is.

Great food, stunning atmosphere, and top-tier service—truly an unforgettable experience! 🥂

We had dinner at the Regency Bar and Grill as we were staying at the hotel. We opted for straightforward dishes - a hamburger and a pasta dish. They both were excellent. The portions were generous and the dishes were very well executed. We also shared a very nice mixed spring vegetable salad that was full of crisp perfectly prepared vegetables. The service was friendly and attentive. We definitely recommend this restaurant.

From the moment I sat down, I felt uncomfortable, but I thought perhaps it was me being bourgeoisie (I frequent a lot of upscale places in the city). Then, not only did I watch the bartenders have conversations with everyone around me and make me feel invisible, food took forever to come, and I was POISONED! By the time my dessert came, I was too sick to enjoy it 😮💨 I ordered the very mediocre Crab cakes and had to be walked to get in my car due to being ill. Spend my weekend sick and ended up in the hospital. Dizziness, nausea, irregular breathing... you name it. I don't recommend it for people of color especially.👎🏽 Out of over a thousand reviews I left on Google, I never had to leave one like this and hate having to do it, but never experienced this in NYC ever and I'm a native Manhattan resident!

Food was great, crab cakes, rigatoni, orechiette, ice cream the next day. The service was just super confusing. There was nobody there at dinner and they insisted on sitting us at a middle table instead of the booths. Even though there were at least five servers we felt ignored the whole time and somehow couldn't get anyone's attention at any point. The next day we took our girls to get ice cream in the dining room (it was MOTHER'S DAY, mind you). We ordered them each a chocolate ice cream. They brought out one and when we eventually found the waiter to ask for the other he said, no, I only put in one, they don't need all that sugar.

Fabulous dinner at Regency Bar and Grill! The service was excellent, the food was delicious and it was a very warm, welcoming environment. I live nearby but rarely think to eat at a hotel. However, we were so impressed with the meal and service, we will definitely return soon.

Café Boulud is a beloved and elegant French restaurant helmed by the renowned chef Daniel Boulud. The ambiance is refined yet welcoming, capturing the essence of classic French dining. The menu changes seasonally, and every dish I’ve tried has been exceptional. The steak prepared two ways stands out as one of the most memorable dishes I’ve ever had, and the lobster ravioli is a true highlight—expertly crafted and full of depth and flavor. For dessert, the chocolate cake with raspberry sorbet is a perfect finale, offering a beautifully balanced finish to the meal. This Michelin-starred establishment is absolutely worth a visit.

We had lunch. Love the decor very classy and elegant. The service was attentive and flawless. Both deserve the 5 stars. The food in comparison is little lacking. We were told this is a French with Turkish twist type of cuisine. Waitress recommended hiramasa abricot. It is a little bit too sweet and fish was cut into tiny pieces to almost none existent. The other appetizer we ordered was beef tartare. It tasted wonderful but very chunky. For the main dishes we ordered hanger steak, very dry and tough, not recommend it, and romesco fish, which literally has no taste and the fish is only the size of a woman’s thumb. The two main dishes combined are over $100 and I truly think they all over priced. Maybe the high prices reflect the plating; sure the plating is fancy but not aesthetically pleasing. I am little disappointed. I think if anyone wants to try maybe go for dinner as the dinner menu online looks more interesting and portions are more reasonable. Last we ordered a cake desert, wonderful.

Cafe Boulud is Michelin for good reason.
Came here for my girlfriend’s birthday and we were treated graciously. The service is unbeatable, everything handled with care.
The complimentary amuse-bouche of dry aged ham was a nice touch on top of a delicious meal. Duck, Pork Loin, Lobster Rav, and Scallops w/ caviar were all excellent. A French gem in NYC, would recommend to anyone.

I’ve been here few times even when they were still in Madison Avenue. It’s a great French restaurant with good food and good people. The atmosphere is I think better than they used to be in Madison Ave. Service is 5 star from the host, servers and managers. They always check on their guests and made sure everything is good.

My NY Strip was overcooked for medium-rare and had a thick tendon in the meat. Otherwise the cuisine design and taste was great. Service was excellent and attentive. They can consider putting some noise damping material to absorb loud speaking drunkards. The atmosphere was like a bar.

The food was amazing! Portions were great! I ordered the Rigatoni ala vodka with mushrooms and for the table we had the Asian pear salad and shrimp scampi which were all just amazing! We saw a lot of people order the calamari so next time I will definitely order that! We finished off our dinner with a lovely sundae which was big enough for 3 of us!
Had one little down side. Our waiter would disappear or we would have to keep waving them down. While it was empty, they were nowhere in sight and it just took longer to get our orders in. Some tables were catered to faster than ours while we were there first.

I had an amazing experience at Tony's Di Napoli in the Upper East Side! From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home. The service was impeccable—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was absolutely delicious! Every detail, from the presentation to the flavors, was top-notch. This is truly an authentic Italian gem, and I can’t wait to return. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you’re looking for good, comforting Italian American food, then Tony’s is a must. I’ve visited both locations countless times since 2009 and the food is consistent and you can count on have a good meal if you’re selecting anything off the core menu. This was my first ordering one of the specials (Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka) and I wish we would have stuck with the original version on the menu. The rigatoni wasn’t al dente, it was practically raw and hard to chew. We sent it back and the dish was remade. The pasta was still a bit undercooked but edible compared to the first plate we received. Regardless of this recent experience, their Chicken Francese is always delicious and so is their Veal and Eggplant and you should save some room for dessert.
Service here is good but sometimes it can be a miss (but when it’s good, it’s great). The older manager with glasses is a true gentleman who cares about service so he’ll make sure you have a great time. If you’re looking to have a night out with the family or with friends, I would recommend Tony’s. Prices are fair and it’s family style, both half and full size portions which ensures everyone gets a bit of everything.

This last weekend I went to a large graduation dinner at Tony’s. Having never been before I was impressed with its massive layout and seating capacity. The food was phenomenal, the chicken parm and the shrimp parm stole the show.
The seafood paella and calamari also both had strong flavors and are worth getting as an appetizer. We drank sangria pitchers which I believe is the most bang for your buck so to speak for drinking with a large group (if you don’t get a bottle of wine).
For those who are curious, the venue has multiple stairs throughout and the bathroom is located downstairs two flights . I would definitely come back for the food again but maybe not in such a large crowd.
For our large table of 15 it took us 3 hours. Sometimes our waiter would go and it would be hard to find him because of the layout. I understand the nature of the business and they were packed nevertheless just something to keep in mind.

Excellent quality price ratio! Generous portions - pls make sure you check before ordering as the full portion of meat was still huge for 2 - the veal is excellent, any sauce you choose will be the right choice. We had the parmigiana which was very nice- the tomato pasta was average as I thought it was very salty
Overall great service, wide choice of dishes and excellent prices for what you get

I don’t say this lightly: this is hands down the best Italian restaurant in New York City. After dining here, every other meal—no matter how well-reviewed or hyped—feels like a shadow in comparison. I tell everyone about the food, the service and the experience. The fish (doesn’t matter what kind) is always going to be incredible, but even something as simple as eggplant parmigiana. Oh my gosh. Are you kidding me?! When they say “we’ll make anything you want” they literally will make anything you want that’s not on the menu and ruin that dish from every other dining experience ever again. A must go-to restaurant!

All of food is way too good that I had to over rate more than what we experienced.
BUT, I must say that verbal menu must be written with each price.
All most $200 for fish over $100 for pasta are TOO MUCH.
Also the system of waiters must be improved. He was asking what drinks to order 4 times to me while my friend is in a restroom. No rulls at all!

I felt like a Times Square tourist… And not in a good way-The quality of the food was very good, but that is the only real positive I have for Scalitenella. where to start?
should I start at the end when I received a phone call from the restaurant at 11:45 PM(!) accusing me of leaving without paying my bill. Here’s how it unfolded:
1. THE RESERVATION - reservation was for 7:30 PM but not seated until 8:30 PM. The restaurant is small and very full. Kudos to them but wasn’t great for us.
2. THE BAR WAIT - we were asked to wait at the bar, which is quite small, we were a party of three, and there was one chair available. So we squeezed in and took the one chair and two of us stood for an hour. The entire time we were there an older gentleman was giving us the stink eye. because he felt he was there before us when the hostess asked us to sit there.
…at this point, things are still salvageable
BUT THEN,
3. we are finally seated and instantly affronted with a very busy waiter, who proceeds to give us 3 very paltry menus, and then rattles off probably 30 “specials“ but as he’s rattling off all those specials, he’s NOT rattling off the prices - no clue on pricing
4. tried to order appetizers (since we were seated an hour later than we had anticipated, the couple I was with was hungry) but i was told, as the waiter huffed off “not placing any orders until you order your entrée”.
6. later a busboy whisked away my friends appetizer plate and fork out of her hand. She was not done eating.
7. we asked for our leftovers to go, but the beef carpaccio that was left (1/2 of the order) didn’t manage to make it into the box with the leftover pasta.
8. in the end, we had three appetizers, two entrées, a glass of champagne, a martini, a glass of wine, a port, and two desserts.
9. The bill with tip came to $420+/- which I paid with my AMEX at 10:22 PM, and which I also retained a customer copy receipt of thankfully. so imagine my surprise…
10. ACCUSED OF NOT PAYING - when at 11:45PM I get a phone call accusing me of leaving without paying my bill. I did have two martinis so in the back of my head I’m thinking anything is possible… So I checked my Amex card and sure enough it showed the charge pending and I had a copy of my receipt that was printed out from the processing machine.
I called the restaurant back and explained the situation and they said they would check into it and then they called ME back and told me I paid the WRONG bill….In a way that made it sound like it was my fault that I paid the wrong Bill, not that they gave me the wrong bill and i paid it accordingly. (My bill was actually $60 less than the bill I paid). I was asked to come back in so that they could credit the wrong Bill an recharge me the correct amount. I told them I would be in the next day, they wanted to know what time and I said I didn’t know. The next day a woman called me and asked me what time I would be in or if they could take my credit card information over the phone…at This point I am not comfortable giving my credit card information to the restaurant over the phone so I told her I would be in later; the woman aggressively asked me if I could be in “now” and I told her no I was working and she said can you be in within an hour and I said no I’m working and she said “when can you be in” and I said between 4 o’clock and 5 o’clock. none of this exchange is friendly or apologetic on the Restaurants part. I did get to the restaurant later that afternoon, and they did process the credit for the $60…i received a hug for my troubles but even that felt disingenuous.
I was hoping for a neighborhood, Italian restaurant experience at a high end, but I ended up walking away, feeling like a Timesquare tourist to be taken advantage of. I would not go back, nor would I recommend dining at this restaurant.
I understand that they were left with one ticket unpaid, but who calls a customer at 11:45 at night to accuse them of not paying their bill without making sure it isn’t their mistake first - 🤷🏻♀️

A Hidden Gem on the Upper East Side – A Truly Delightful Experience in New York.
Dining at JoJo on the Upper East Side was a warm and unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped in, we were captivated by the charming ambiance and romantic, homey design, especially on the second floor, which feels like a cozy, elegant escape.
The service was both professional and genuinely friendly, making us feel right at home. What stood out most was the exceptional flavor of the food—every dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented.
We started with the tuna tartare, which was incredibly fresh and perfectly complemented by crispy lettuce. For mains, the chicken dish was a revelation—I rarely order chicken, but I’m so glad I did here! The filet was also perfectly cooked and flavorful. We finished the evening with the carrot cake, and it was nothing short of fabulous—moist, rich, and just the right amount of sweet.
The wine and cocktail selection was excellent, and it was nice to see that the crowd consisted mostly of locals, which speaks volumes about the restaurant's consistent quality. JoJo strikes a beautiful balance between upscale dining and the comfort of a home-cooked meal.
We will definitely be coming back—this is a place worth revisiting. Just a tip: make a reservation, as it’s understandably a popular spot!

Jo Jo was our spontaneous choice after I unsuccessfully tried to book a table at 10 other locations. I decided on an early dinner at 5:00 once I found a table. We adjusted our plans and arrived at the restaurant, which is located in a charming neighborhood and occupies a small, cozy building.
We were seated downstairs but later checked out the upper floor, which has windows and a bright, airy vibe. For a casual lunch with friends, I’d recommend the cozy corner tables upstairs — perfect for relaxed chats or fun gossip. For our date night, however, the downstairs seating was ideal. The eclectic and stylish atmosphere, enhanced by beautiful lighting, made it feel intimate and special. I truly admired the use of monochromatic tones and the thoughtful design of the space.
Our dining experience was wonderful! The ambiance was warm and inviting, blending coziness with elegance and making us feel instantly at ease. The menu offered a fantastic variety of dishes, and everything we tried was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I loved the warm shrimp salad, and the crunchy, spicy tuna roll was a hit. The pasta with mushrooms had a unique twist thanks to its seasoning, and the carrots, served as a garnish, were a delightful option for those who prefer more vegetables. Although I lately skip dessert, I couldn’t resist the chocolate flan with a molten center and ice cream on the side. And since legend has it that Jean-Georges himself invented it, we couldn’t argue — it would’ve been impolite in his house!
The service was outstanding. The staff worked together as a team — one waiter kept our glasses full, another ensured the table was spotless, and a third presented and served the dishes beautifully. Their teamwork was impressive! Bravo!
Whether you’re looking for a casual meal with friends or a special night out, Jo Jo is a fantastic choice. I can’t wait to visit again!

It's not funny but funny in a sad way . One of the best meals I had in the 80s was at the Drake Hotel, when Jean Georges was the chef, with a group of my fellow staff from the River Cafe. We were blown away. It was so good.
The last time I ate at JoJo was probably in the 90s since I'm rarely in the upper east side. But I've certainly been to other Jean George restaurants downtown and many of the places the Tin building.
Hence my shock at some of the dishes we had the other night at JoJo.
Pinky toe crab dumplings sounded amazing, but were thoroughly disappointing when it hit the table. It looked like a bowl of beige liquid. The lemongrass flavor was very one note and overwhelming. The dumplings were uninteresting. There was no garnish. Just a sad looking dish.
The Greek salad with beets was almost worse. Any NY diner makes a more appetizing and certainly more generous Greek salad albeit without beets. It was flat and skimpy with an acrid dressing.
Ridiculous at a restaurant of this "caliber" and cost to ask how a guest wants the fish done and then not cook it the way they asked for. For the record medium rare was requested and well done was how it arrived.
My charred duck was indeed blackened but the skin was not crisp. It was flabby and inedible.
The only decent dish was the chicken. Although the potatoes tasted briny which was odd, but may have been the intent.
The waitress accidentally showered us with champagne which she was very apologetic for. It may have been a blessing since they comped the terrible appetizers as a nice gesture.
It's crazy to me that a chef with such a great reputation let's his staff drop the ball on keeping up his standards.
Oh, and the acoustics were crazy loud. So noisy.

If you’re in NYC and you don’t come here, you’re an idiot. The food is amazing!!! I’m writing this for my mom because she’s still eating and not sharing…which means Chef Burke is destroying maternal instincts. That’s how good his food is. The wild mushroom ravioli has turned mushrooms into a food group and the cheesecake was light with coolies that only enhanced. Chef Burke and his team created a food experience about which I don’t think I’ve ever seen my Mom rave like this before. Come. Here. Even their house wine was well selected!

Had an extraordinary meal at David Burke Tavern. Service was top notch… friendly, yet professional and knowledgeable!!!!! The clothesline bacon (and having it blowtorched table side) was awesome! Bacon was sweet and peppery! So yummy. The prime ribeye was perhaps the best I’ve had in a very long time!!! Perfectly seasoned with whatever dry rub/seasoning they use! The showstopper though had to have been the cake lollipop tree with cotton candy!!!! Sooo good! David Burke Tavern is not cheap, but I feel very worth the money and I would definitely come back again and again!!!!

I've stopped in here several times for a slice. It's pretty close to quintessential nyc pizza. I appreciate that they go beyond just plain and pepperoni. Garlic knots are pretty good too.
Nice enough guys behind the counter and any slice is good as long as you ensure it hasn't sat there for too long. I've had a miss or two. The oven reheat can only do so much.

Good tasty pizza. I do recommend if you're hungry and need a quick bite. Slices are large. Nice selection of toppings. The dough was a bit too thick, which made it taste a little raw. Thank you to all the workers. It is so hot in there, my brain almost melted.

I've been coming to this location over a spand of 4 years and a half. It happens to be located nearby my work area so I stop in every now and then for grub here. Early last year it was closed for a little while for renovations and it looks very much improved. Its pretty small with a limited seating area in the back, surrounding counter tops with stools, and a display of a variety of their Pizza Pies upon entry. The staff seems friendly and straight to the point, I personally never encountered an issue with any of them. Restroom is clean, but you may find the noise in this place very much distracting as there usually tends to be general music playing around the place, employees playing their kind of music behind the counter and kitchen loud enough that you can hear it from the rear seating area, plus a TV within the rear seating area. All these things clash making it all sound annoying to the person looking to read or cover some work on a laptop or something. The food is OK, they not only sell Pizzas but a variety of other items too. The Pizzas sit in display and they pick it and toss it right in their oven once you've decided, this is common in small shops like these so don't expect your slice to be fresh baked while you wait. The prices are fair, they accept Credit cards, and do deliveries. Thanks

Ray's Pizza, I cannot say enough good things about this place. Sam makes your experience memorable. They are all so friendly, eager to help and are having a good time making that special pizza just for you.
This has got to be some of the best pizza on the planet. The crust is super thin, the motz was fresh, the sauce was perfect. I went twice in two days. I just could not get enough.
If you don't go to Famous Ray's, then everything else is just plain ole' pizza.

Double chocolate cookie was really good. Thick and crunchy and chocolate make it a bit chewy. The dough around chocolate is soft and melting.

The food was good. I tried the Sunny bowl and was surprised at first by the presentation and second by the flavor. Everything worked so well together and each bite just got better and better. They have nice things in the menu for kids and adults. I would love to bring my kids to try the mini pancakes. They definitely looked amazing.

This place was very quiet and not busy, but the workers still somehow forgot about our drink orders, so we had to wait a long time and remind them that we were still waiting on our drinks. Also, it's confusing to order because they have the checkout counter up front, but if you order up front, you can't sit down in one of the many open tables they have. The prepared sandwich bread is hard and the tomatoes have no flavor. Also staff were not friendly.

Pretty expensive for regular quality coffee and take-away sandwiches. Waited 15+ mins for our drink because they forgot we ordered (almost no other customers inside), tried to seat ourselves blindly as we were quickly dismissed at the counter and were told we cannot sit in the back even though all tables but 2 (of maybe 20) were open. When I asked if their bathroom had a code, they just said “downstairs” and walked away. Asked for a printed receipt, never got one. They were not busy. Felt very strange. Coffee was not worth ordering again and very chemical-y.

The beautiful wood interior and warm inviting vibe is awesome. The Club allows walk-ins, but there is a $40 minimum per person, and $20 of it has to be cigars. My wife and I had a drink and dessert. The warm chocolate truffles were delicious, and the coffee was also tasty. The service was friendly and helpful, they kep the ashtrays clean.

Went here on a date with a special gentleman during my visit to NY and I must admit that I had an amazing time. Both the atmosphere and the company were phenomenal! I’m not one to drink but during my visit to NY I did make exceptions 🙈. I order The Godmother, I forgot which drink he had but it was very tasty.
We also ordered appetizers and an entree that we shared, I’m not a big eater. He was such a gentleman. He even fed me 😜.
We each enjoyed a cigar. He had chosen something light for me, one a bit bolder for himself. It was a very relaxed crowd. I had such a great time. We closed out the place. The staff was attentive as well. I would definitely recommend this place hands down.

A very handsome place to visit for drinks, cigars, dinner, and music! It's the perfect compromise to take a date and comfortably smoke a cigar and have drinks. I'm not a smoker but my hubby is, so whenever I go with him he knows it needs to be a place that has a good ventilation system. And this one does. I was able to enjoy dinner while he looked forward to trying sum of their signature cigars. I would definitely visit here again! We were in NYC for two weeks and we enjoyed our time here so much we went twice! Thank u for the diverse playlist! It kept us singing and vibing all night!

Been to several cigar lounges from Boston to Atlanta and hands down this is still my favorite. Cigar selection is phenomenal and the atmosphere matches it.
