Daniel is unequivocally one of my favorite fine dining restaurants in New York City, and every visit to Daniel is an indulgent journey into high-level gastronomy.
I always choose the eight course tasting menu, and my two standout favorites over the years are their New York foie gras and Maine sea scallops, each bite exquisitely crafted. Every course arrives as a work of art, beautifully plated, deeply flavorful, and thoughtfully paced. It is the literal definition of culinary artistry and fine dining.
The experience is elegant from start to finish. The service is polished yet warm, and the dining room is refined with coffered ceilings, sparkling chandeliers, and understated sophistication. Though the pricing is high, with the eight course menu running around $295 to $300 per person, for NYC standards this is absolutely worth it, especially if you are celebrating a special occasion or just want to splurge on truly memorable food.
What saddens me is that Michelin currently rates Daniel at only one star, a puzzling demotion for a restaurant that consistently delivers excellence in execution and creativity. Daniel previously held two Michelin stars, and before that even three, which makes this latest rating feel like an injustice.
Despite Michelin’s concerns about inconsistency, to me Daniel remains a gem, a place where passion for seasonal French cuisine meets meticulous presentation, and where each course showcases top tier ingredients like foie gras and scallops at their peak. Every visit reaffirms why it remains one of the finest and most reliable dining experiences in New York.
In short, it is expensive, but absolutely worth it. If you are looking to celebrate or treat yourself, Daniel never disappoints.

I really enjoyed my time at Daniel last night. The restaurant has a lot of history and it's a really beautiful restaurant. The bar is amazing too. My server gave perfect service and I wish him the best. The presentation of the dishes were extremely creative like a work of art. Many 3 star restaurants don't have such creativity and presentation to their dishes. I really enjoyed the rabbit dish and the lamb saddle. The sauces paired with both of these dishes were amazing. I also enjoyed their array of breads to choose from as well as the cheese tray add on. That was excellent. Overall, I recommend coming to Daniel for an excellent meal, service, and a memorable experience. I've been to around 50 Michelin star restaurants so I can compare this restaurant to others. I think this restaurant is definitely worth a visit as it sets its self apart from other Michelin star restaurants.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I had the French bouillabaisse at Daniel and it was out of this world — rich, complex, and absolutely unforgettable. But what made the evening truly once-in-a-lifetime was having dinner at The Skybox, right inside the kitchen. Watching the brigade at work, every plate crafted like a symphony of art, was mesmerizing. You see the precision, the passion, the dedication to excellence in every movement.
And then — meeting Chef Daniel himself. What a moment. He is not only a master of cuisine but also a gentleman of rare warmth and generosity. He made us feel unique, welcomed, and valued, taking time to speak with us with genuine sincerity. It wasn’t just a meal, it was an experience that touched the heart as much as the palate. Truly one of the most memorable evenings of my life.

The experience at Daniel begins even before you sit at the table. Days before my visit, I received a thoughtful email from Penn, who personally welcomed me with great warmth on the day of the reservation — a gesture of hospitality that already reflects the restaurant’s standard of excellence.
While waiting for my companion, I went to the bar and accepted a recommendation from one of the staff to try a signature cocktail. A perfect choice: balanced, sophisticated, and full of personality — the drink set the tone for the culinary journey that would follow.
In the main dining room, we were welcomed by Allan, whose impeccable service elevated the entire evening. With technical mastery and evident passion, he introduced each dish with rich detail, providing context about the ingredients, techniques, and origins. Each course was a true sensory exploration — complex flavors, refined presentation, and surprising textures.
At the end of the dinner, we had the opportunity to visit the kitchen. The space conveyed discipline and organization, reflecting the same care present in every dish served.
Without a doubt, Daniel delivers a high-level gastronomic experience, defined by attention to detail and the dedication of the entire team. A truly special evening in one of New York’s Michelin-starred classics.
We chose the 5-course tasting menu.

Dining at Daniel was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. I have several dietary restrictions, and Matthew, the maitre d’hôtel, went above and beyond to make sure I felt completely safe and cared for. He worked seamlessly with the culinary team to design a custom five-course tasting menu that eliminated every concern without hesitation.
The communication beforehand was outstanding — not only did they clearly confirm everything via email, but Matthew even called to assure me that preparations were made in the back to avoid any cross-contamination. That kind of detail and thoughtfulness is rare, and it set the tone for a worry-free evening.
The food itself was unbelievable — beautifully prepared, balanced, and truly memorable. Between the flawless service, Matthew’s exceptional care, and the incredible dishes, this was an out-of-this-world dining experience. Daniel is a restaurant that takes hospitality and cuisine to the highest level.

#LoewsRegencyBar & Grill is my neighborhood “#GoToPlace” - As fall weather approaches, I had the pleasure of meeting a colleague at Regency Bar & Grill, my neighborhood staple for 25 years. This iconic spot is renowned for its exceptional service and culinary delights, including Wall Street's Community known for the 'art of the deal'. We were warmly greeted by the F&B Manager/Exec Chef, Manjit, whose suit stylishly embodied his fall spirit. He treated us to an array of delectable fish and seafood options, including succulent lobster and signature crab cakes. The pièce de résistance: fresh-baked cookies & generous cups of cappuccino. Thanks to Chef John, we had a truly unforgettable experience! We eagerly anticipate our next visit. Bonnie - Manhattan
PS: A seasoned waitstaff continue to exceed my expectations with welcomes & little touches of service kindnesses throughout our evening!

I only hit up the bar. Arguably the greatest Bloody Mary ever—and that’s not hyperbole. Possibly the most expensive, too. Great people-watching comes with the price of admission. Highly recommend, but don’t forget your wallet

From the moment I sat down, I felt uncomfortable, but I thought perhaps it was me being bourgeoisie (I frequent a lot of upscale places in the city). Then, not only did I watch the bartenders have conversations with everyone around me and make me feel invisible, food took forever to come, and I was POISONED! By the time my dessert came, I was too sick to enjoy it 😮💨 I ordered the very mediocre Crab cakes and had to be walked to get in my car due to being ill. Spend my weekend sick and ended up in the hospital. Dizziness, nausea, irregular breathing... you name it. I don't recommend it for people of color especially.👎🏽 Out of over a thousand reviews I left on Google, I never had to leave one like this and hate having to do it, but never experienced this in NYC ever and I'm a native Manhattan resident!

We had dinner at the Regency Bar and Grill as we were staying at the hotel. We opted for straightforward dishes - a hamburger and a pasta dish. They both were excellent. The portions were generous and the dishes were very well executed. We also shared a very nice mixed spring vegetable salad that was full of crisp perfectly prepared vegetables. The service was friendly and attentive. We definitely recommend this restaurant.

I was really excited to go here because I am a big Housewives of New York fan and they always go here in the show. We sat at the bar and had a couple drinks that were ridiculously expensive. Like, comical. Decided not to get food because the vibe was just off. The patrons around us were insufferable. I finally worked the nerve up to ask the bartender if the housewives still come around and I could tell he was NOT happy to be asked that question. Like geez my bad dude, at least feign some interest. Glad I went just to say I did it but I would not go back. Ended up getting dinner at Carnegie Diner and it was fab.

Café Boulud is a beloved and elegant French restaurant helmed by the renowned chef Daniel Boulud. The ambiance is refined yet welcoming, capturing the essence of classic French dining. The menu changes seasonally, and every dish I’ve tried has been exceptional. The steak prepared two ways stands out as one of the most memorable dishes I’ve ever had, and the lobster ravioli is a true highlight—expertly crafted and full of depth and flavor. For dessert, the chocolate cake with raspberry sorbet is a perfect finale, offering a beautifully balanced finish to the meal. This Michelin-starred establishment is absolutely worth a visit.

We opted for restaurant week at the bar. Drinks were smooth and top notch. The bread was excellent. The buratta salad was solid and definitely delicious, as was the hanger steak. I have nothing bad to say, however, I gave it 4 stars because while the food was good it didn't feel exceptional or at the level I've come to expect at renowned restaurants. That said, the lime and coconut mousse dessert and chocolate tart packed a punch with those big, bold flavors I was expecting. Dessert stole the show!

As someone who enjoys food content (cooking shows, The Bear, etc.) But never actually expirenced Fine Dining I was nervous to visit a starred restaurant afraid it wouldn't live up to expectations but Café Boulud definitely lived up to expectations. The food and the service was absolutely incredible. It was a really special and memorable experience from the moment we walked in the door. The Hostess was so friendly and engaging. It was so nice to speak with and engage with the Sommelier who was so nice and able to make the wine list accessible for us who are new to wine. And the food was fantastic too. From the Perfect bite Amouse bouche to the Scallop Dish and the Hanger Steak. Everything was delicious and exciting.

I made a reservation for one thinking this would be a nice last meal in the city. When I checked in with the hostess she commented, “Oh, just one,” which felt a little judgmental. It took 20 minutes for my order to be taken. The fried zucchini was good dipped in the sauce but pretty flavorless on its own. I also found what looked like a piece of calamari mixed in with it. The eggplant parmesan felt a little undercooked and tasted sweet. Overall, a disappointing meal with mediocre service. It looks nice though and the portions were well worth the price.

The food was excellent, big portions. When they say one order is good for 2-3 people, they mean it!! We got the mixed seafood platter and it was so delicious. You get a whole lobster (not just tails) & it’s worth the price. The service was on point, very professional & quick. The only downside is it was packed and very crowded so pretty loud. Otherwise, highly recommend!

We went a week ago for the first time and we absolutely loved it! I think i found my favorite italian restaurant in the UES. Waldeck took care of us and he was great! We had the linguini white clam sauce and the rigatoni bolognese and we loved it, specially the rigatoni.

This last weekend I went to a large graduation dinner at Tony’s. Having never been before I was impressed with its massive layout and seating capacity. The food was phenomenal, the chicken parm and the shrimp parm stole the show.
The seafood paella and calamari also both had strong flavors and are worth getting as an appetizer. We drank sangria pitchers which I believe is the most bang for your buck so to speak for drinking with a large group (if you don’t get a bottle of wine).
For those who are curious, the venue has multiple stairs throughout and the bathroom is located downstairs two flights . I would definitely come back for the food again but maybe not in such a large crowd.
For our large table of 15 it took us 3 hours. Sometimes our waiter would go and it would be hard to find him because of the layout. I understand the nature of the business and they were packed nevertheless just something to keep in mind.

First of all, the food is delicious. I will not deny that. However, when the waiter offered us Parmesan cheese, olives and meats, he should have also said it was $66! For four people, one piece of meat, two olives and cheese. $66!! Then, after ordering, he asked if we wanted an appetizer of zucchini florets- almost demanding we get them- we said sure! They were $57! One small florets for each person! They really need to be more transparent about these “special offerings!” We NEVER would have ordered the meat and cheese or the florets for those prices. Very unfair. Especially when we don’t over $500 for four people.

Scalinatella is one of those rare spots in NYC that still feels like old-school Italian luxury — dimly lit, intimate, and effortlessly charming. The moment you walk down those stairs, you're transported to a different era: white-jacketed servers, a menu recited from memory, and that warm, lived-in elegance that only decades of history can bring.
The food is consistently phenomenal — rich pastas, perfectly cooked seafood, and traditional dishes that feel like a warm hug from Nonna. No gimmicks, just classic Italian done right.
What makes it extra special? The people-watching. On more than one occasion, I’ve seen celebrities dining quietly in the corner, which adds to the whole experience. It’s discreet, exclusive, and yet somehow still feels like a neighborhood secret

All of food is way too good that I had to over rate more than what we experienced.
BUT, I must say that verbal menu must be written with each price.
All most $200 for fish over $100 for pasta are TOO MUCH.
Also the system of waiters must be improved. He was asking what drinks to order 4 times to me while my friend is in a restroom. No rulls at all!

I don’t say this lightly: this is hands down the best Italian restaurant in New York City. After dining here, every other meal—no matter how well-reviewed or hyped—feels like a shadow in comparison. I tell everyone about the food, the service and the experience. The fish (doesn’t matter what kind) is always going to be incredible, but even something as simple as eggplant parmigiana. Oh my gosh. Are you kidding me?! When they say “we’ll make anything you want” they literally will make anything you want that’s not on the menu and ruin that dish from every other dining experience ever again. A must go-to restaurant!

A Hidden Gem on the Upper East Side – A Truly Delightful Experience in New York.
Dining at JoJo on the Upper East Side was a warm and unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped in, we were captivated by the charming ambiance and romantic, homey design, especially on the second floor, which feels like a cozy, elegant escape.
The service was both professional and genuinely friendly, making us feel right at home. What stood out most was the exceptional flavor of the food—every dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented.
We started with the tuna tartare, which was incredibly fresh and perfectly complemented by crispy lettuce. For mains, the chicken dish was a revelation—I rarely order chicken, but I’m so glad I did here! The filet was also perfectly cooked and flavorful. We finished the evening with the carrot cake, and it was nothing short of fabulous—moist, rich, and just the right amount of sweet.
The wine and cocktail selection was excellent, and it was nice to see that the crowd consisted mostly of locals, which speaks volumes about the restaurant's consistent quality. JoJo strikes a beautiful balance between upscale dining and the comfort of a home-cooked meal.
We will definitely be coming back—this is a place worth revisiting. Just a tip: make a reservation, as it’s understandably a popular spot!

I’m really impressed with this place! The small plates are beautiful, each one different, and the decor is elegant, just right for someone like me👸🏻 The appetizers were flavorful, though the chicken wasn’t the best. But for a restaurant week menu, there’s not much to complain about. The service was great, I’ll definitely be coming back to here

It's not funny but funny in a sad way . One of the best meals I had in the 80s was at the Drake Hotel, when Jean Georges was the chef, with a group of my fellow staff from the River Cafe. We were blown away. It was so good.
The last time I ate at JoJo was probably in the 90s since I'm rarely in the upper east side. But I've certainly been to other Jean George restaurants downtown and many of the places the Tin building.
Hence my shock at some of the dishes we had the other night at JoJo.
Pinky toe crab dumplings sounded amazing, but were thoroughly disappointing when it hit the table. It looked like a bowl of beige liquid. The lemongrass flavor was very one note and overwhelming. The dumplings were uninteresting. There was no garnish. Just a sad looking dish.
The Greek salad with beets was almost worse. Any NY diner makes a more appetizing and certainly more generous Greek salad albeit without beets. It was flat and skimpy with an acrid dressing.
Ridiculous at a restaurant of this "caliber" and cost to ask how a guest wants the fish done and then not cook it the way they asked for. For the record medium rare was requested and well done was how it arrived.
My charred duck was indeed blackened but the skin was not crisp. It was flabby and inedible.
The only decent dish was the chicken. Although the potatoes tasted briny which was odd, but may have been the intent.
The waitress accidentally showered us with champagne which she was very apologetic for. It may have been a blessing since they comped the terrible appetizers as a nice gesture.
It's crazy to me that a chef with such a great reputation let's his staff drop the ball on keeping up his standards.
Oh, and the acoustics were crazy loud. So noisy.

Jo Jo was our spontaneous choice after I unsuccessfully tried to book a table at 10 other locations. I decided on an early dinner at 5:00 once I found a table. We adjusted our plans and arrived at the restaurant, which is located in a charming neighborhood and occupies a small, cozy building.
We were seated downstairs but later checked out the upper floor, which has windows and a bright, airy vibe. For a casual lunch with friends, I’d recommend the cozy corner tables upstairs — perfect for relaxed chats or fun gossip. For our date night, however, the downstairs seating was ideal. The eclectic and stylish atmosphere, enhanced by beautiful lighting, made it feel intimate and special. I truly admired the use of monochromatic tones and the thoughtful design of the space.
Our dining experience was wonderful! The ambiance was warm and inviting, blending coziness with elegance and making us feel instantly at ease. The menu offered a fantastic variety of dishes, and everything we tried was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I loved the warm shrimp salad, and the crunchy, spicy tuna roll was a hit. The pasta with mushrooms had a unique twist thanks to its seasoning, and the carrots, served as a garnish, were a delightful option for those who prefer more vegetables. Although I lately skip dessert, I couldn’t resist the chocolate flan with a molten center and ice cream on the side. And since legend has it that Jean-Georges himself invented it, we couldn’t argue — it would’ve been impolite in his house!
The service was outstanding. The staff worked together as a team — one waiter kept our glasses full, another ensured the table was spotless, and a third presented and served the dishes beautifully. Their teamwork was impressive! Bravo!
Whether you’re looking for a casual meal with friends or a special night out, Jo Jo is a fantastic choice. I can’t wait to visit again!

Popped into David Burke Tavern for happy hour and loved the dark wood, cozy vibe. Drink was solid and well-made, and I tried the lobster dumplings. Sauces were amazing, but the dumplings weren’t super warm and the top where it cinched was kind of hard. Maybe just a fluke. Still, I’d come back to try more dishes!

We had a peaceful and enjoyable early Friday evening upstairs in the dining room. The service was attentive and excellent, and the food was delicious—rustic with a unique twist. We sat in the corner with our penguin friend and even did some research to uncover why it was there! Before leaving, we had the chance to meet the chef, who was friendly and personable as he headed out for the night.

If you’re in NYC and you don’t come here, you’re an idiot. The food is amazing!!! I’m writing this for my mom because she’s still eating and not sharing…which means Chef Burke is destroying maternal instincts. That’s how good his food is. The wild mushroom ravioli has turned mushrooms into a food group and the cheesecake was light with coolies that only enhanced. Chef Burke and his team created a food experience about which I don’t think I’ve ever seen my Mom rave like this before. Come. Here. Even their house wine was well selected!

I've stopped in here several times for a slice. It's pretty close to quintessential nyc pizza. I appreciate that they go beyond just plain and pepperoni. Garlic knots are pretty good too.
Nice enough guys behind the counter and any slice is good as long as you ensure it hasn't sat there for too long. I've had a miss or two. The oven reheat can only do so much.

Good tasty pizza. I do recommend if you're hungry and need a quick bite. Slices are large. Nice selection of toppings. The dough was a bit too thick, which made it taste a little raw. Thank you to all the workers. It is so hot in there, my brain almost melted.

The place is beautiful. I just think they should not use “false advertisement” for the summer drinks. I ordered the strawberry matcha based on the picture and what I got was completely different (looks like artificial strawberry cream in the bottom that do not mix with the matcha, weird!). The cheese danish was good and the classic music is VERY nice and calming! Place with potential and room for some improvements.

Double chocolate cookie was really good. Thick and crunchy and chocolate make it a bit chewy. The dough around chocolate is soft and melting.

Le Pain never misses! We stopped by one of the NYC locations after my son’s work for a quick lunch before heading to the Central Park Zoo, and it was perfect. I had a delicious matcha (so smooth), and the food was fresh, flavorful, and just what we needed to recharge.
This spot is one of my go-tos anytime I’m in the city and need something quick but still healthy and satisfying. Whether it’s a cozy breakfast, a midday break, or a casual coffee catch-up, Le Pain always delivers. The vibe is calm, the menu has something for everyone, and the quality is consistently great.

Le Pain Quotidien on Lexington is a cozy spot for a chill breakfast or lunch. Great pastries, solid coffee, and the breads are always a good pick. It’s got that relaxed, rustic vibe—perfect for catching up or getting a little work done.

I’ve been quietly (okay, not that quietly) chasing down the elusive crookie—that gloriously unhinged hybrid of croissant and cookie—like it’s the final Horcrux of dessert. So when I heard Le Pain Quotidien on the Upper East Side was serving them, I made my way there with the determination of someone who knows full well what butter therapy can do for the soul.
Let me be clear: this is not a gimmick. The crookie at LPQ is the real deal—sweet, flaky, rich, and deeply satisfying. Imagine if a croissant and a chocolate chip cookie met at a Parisian café, flirted shamelessly, and had a perfectly portioned, golden child. That’s this pastry.
What I appreciated most—beyond the sheer joy of eating it—was the size. Unlike some versions that are full croissant-sized sugar juggernauts, LPQ’s crookie is just slightly smaller, which feels both manageable and merciful. It’s still decadent, still buttery, still indulgent—but without the post-dessert existential crisis. Just enough to make you close your eyes and go mmm, not enough to make you text your doctor.
The café itself is charming in that classic LPQ way: rustic tables, soft lighting, and the faint sense that you should be journaling about your day over a tartine. But let’s be honest—you’re here for the crookie. And you should be.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Especially if you’re on the Upper East Side, craving something that says pastry, but make it unreasonably delightful. Go. Get the crookie. Thank yourself later.

The beautiful wood interior and warm inviting vibe is awesome. The Club allows walk-ins, but there is a $40 minimum per person, and $20 of it has to be cigars. My wife and I had a drink and dessert. The warm chocolate truffles were delicious, and the coffee was also tasty. The service was friendly and helpful, they kep the ashtrays clean.

Went here on a date with a special gentleman during my visit to NY and I must admit that I had an amazing time. Both the atmosphere and the company were phenomenal! I’m not one to drink but during my visit to NY I did make exceptions 🙈. I order The Godmother, I forgot which drink he had but it was very tasty.
We also ordered appetizers and an entree that we shared, I’m not a big eater. He was such a gentleman. He even fed me 😜.
We each enjoyed a cigar. He had chosen something light for me, one a bit bolder for himself. It was a very relaxed crowd. I had such a great time. We closed out the place. The staff was attentive as well. I would definitely recommend this place hands down.

Wednesday was the 10th time I went to Club Macanudo in the last 10 years, so I'm not a regular. I prefer Carnegie club. But my experience on Wednesday was actually upsetting. The hostess was rude to say the least. Maybe it was the color of my skin, but she kept reminding me that there was $40 minimum, I told her that I was aware of it and that we would easily surpass that number. And even then, she reminded me the fourth time as she walked me to my table that only had four chairs for a reservation of 5. When I pointed it out, she seemed baffled and told me to wait there while she went to look at another table. Let me mention that it was 5:00 p.m., and the club was virtually empty. And as she finally found a 5-person table for me, she told me that I would have to be out of there before 7:00 p.m., since my reservation would only guarantee 2 hours. I told her that this was not my first time in a restaurant and I knew how reservations worked. The club was still half empty when I finally left after spending several hundred dollars at 9pm. I loved their lamb chops and McAllen 18 was as good as it gets. The servers were quite courteous.

A very handsome place to visit for drinks, cigars, dinner, and music! It's the perfect compromise to take a date and comfortably smoke a cigar and have drinks. I'm not a smoker but my hubby is, so whenever I go with him he knows it needs to be a place that has a good ventilation system. And this one does. I was able to enjoy dinner while he looked forward to trying sum of their signature cigars. I would definitely visit here again! We were in NYC for two weeks and we enjoyed our time here so much we went twice! Thank u for the diverse playlist! It kept us singing and vibing all night!

Three of us came here to celebrate a birthday and its a nice cigar lounge. Decor is good. However the servers are very cold. They serve drinks by measuring them. We had to order more than 5 rounds of single malt to really enjoy our cigars. . I have never been to a high end bar which doesn't have free pour. Food is nice. Overall its a decent place. Not sure if I will be back.
