The food came out super fast! Just a heads up, it’s a good idea to make a reservation. The only thing we wished for was a side dish choice with the chicken, potatoes, and veggies would have been a step up rather than French fries. But the spinach ravioli was amazing! It had such great flavors and a light, zesty lemon taste. They also have an oyster bar.

Popped in for my birthday lunch. Marvelous swanky bustling atmosphere- exquisite old world ambience - very succulent tender escargots in garlic butter- a smart lamb sandwich- my friend had a very tender tasty chicken breast. Cheers to the Maitre’d on March 18 who came over to enquire how everything was going - and on learning I was celebrating my birthday offered us champagne….that was so darling- thank you!!!! Then for dessert we had a pear flan with pear sorbet - and creme brûlée- my dessert appeared with the perfunctory single birthday candle! We had a marvelous experience- the service was quick and our server was especially attentive. Beautiful atmosphere for any occasion - from a quick bite solo - or the entire family!

I’ve always wanted to try Balthazar, and the perfect excuse finally came when I was looking for a French spot open for lunch on a Monday to celebrate a friend’s birthday. I was honestly surprised; the outside doesn’t do it justice. The interior is stunning, warm, elegant, and full of that classic Parisian charm. It feels way fancier than you’d expect from the street. The menu leans a little pricey, especially compared to other well-known French spots in the city, but some items stood out. The foie gras appetizer was divine and took me right back to Paris in the best way. And the bread selection? Incredible. Next time I’m in SoHo, I might swing by for some sourdough. It was that good. Overall, it’s a lovely spot for a special lunch, and I’m glad we finally made it there.

Balthazar was absolutely amazing. The space is stunning—beautifully designed and surprisingly spacious. From the moment I walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming and warm. One thoughtful touch that really stood out: they offer a glass of champagne to solo diners, which I thought was the most adorable and classy gesture. As for the food—everything was phenomenal. I started with the seafood ceviche, which was fresh and perfectly balanced. The steak frites were cooked to perfection, with a rich, flavorful sauce and crispy fries. I also had a side of spinach that was buttery and delicious, and ended the meal with their toffee pudding—sweet, decadent, and totally worth it. I paired everything with a cocktail, and every single bite and sip was amazing. Highly recommend this place whether you’re dining with others or treating yourself. It’s a full experience, not just a meal.

Sunday brunch idea- skip the typical cafes and come here! I love when I can get a lobster roll and sushi. My friends and I got brunch here and what I loved is that Lure offers breakfast foods like omelettes but also sushi, lobster rolls and main dishes. Our waiter was so cute and sweet bringing us crab rolls as compliments from the chef. So far this is one of my top seafood and sushi spots for taste, options, and service. I’ll be back & thanks Lure!

Great place, we were walking down the street and got caught with the view of the low windows into the restaurant, and we decided to book a table. We had good time, excellent food, they have also vegetarian option, we took the ravioli. Recommend on sea food if you're there, and we also tried one of the sushi rolls which was good as well. Would recommend if you are in the SoHo area and love seafood to try it out.

This photo was taken at our last visit, in July. My husband and daughter had dined here for lunch on a couple of occasions and this was our first time for dinner, all four of us. It’s nestled in one of my favorite parts of town, and there’s something about the busy-ness of the place when it’s packed. Everyone there seemed to enjoy themselves, great food, good drinks, great service! We celebrated our daughter’s birthday this day. She didn’t want us to tell anyone so we kept it mum, but after several visits we can say it’s a great place to eat. Love the atmosphere, too.

Update: Julio, thanks for taking the time to write me back. I now appreciate the complexity that goes into running a restaurant with fantastic food, great value, huge demand, and limited seating. I have revised my review to 5 stars. Thank you Good spot in the heart of downtown. Wish they weren't so crazy about the reservation system. It seems the only way to get a table is to show up and get on the list, then wait 30 mins. The irony of it all is that there are always a ton of tables empty inside. Such is the allure, seems they are just trying to make people wait to increase anticipation. They also wouldn't switch our table as we were right under the AC - they claimed they had "another reservation" but I thought they don't take reservations? Strange. That all said, the food is excellent. Pizza is perfect. Very well priced.

We give Rubirosa a solid 4 stars. We wanted to like it more, but thought the pizza was just alright compared to others. But that might be on us because we couldn’t have the popular tie dye pie. The Wild Mushroom special was great, the Hot Honey (without pork) was ok. Garlic knots were perfect. Service is okay. It’s a nice vibe, it’s loud though if you’re looking for a conversation.

Located on Nolita, Rubirosa has developed into a much loved Italian restaurant known for their pizza. Wafer thin crusts make it tasty to eat. Beverly and I had lunch here recently for yet another birthday celebration. We had one pizza. One half was the Arugula with tomato sauce, red onion, parmigiana and balsamic and the other half was the “Tie Dye” with a topping of vodka, tomatoes, mozzarella and pesto. We shared a arugula salad anointed with a refredhing lemon vinaigrette that was quite large. The arrival of the pizza was heralded with joy! We ate well and the one slice left I took home. Star, our server, gave me a cookie lit with a candle as we skipped dessert being too full. One can get a reservation on Resy for Rubirosa but as it has become so popular it is at times difficult to snag a reservation. I have been having pizza here for decades and in those days walking in to eat was easy. Aurpita and Michelle, the two charming hostesses, made us feel welcome and gave me hope that I would be able to enjoy lunch here once again.

OMG, the food here was amazing! We came across this place by accident — we couldn’t find anything interesting in the main part of Little Italy, and this spot caught our eye on the map. I'm so glad we decided to check it out. The drinks were great and strong, the pizza was superb, and the Cacio e Pepe pasta was absolutely delicious! The cheesecake was nice too! Worth the wait and the slightly cramped space. Everything we ordered here was surprisingly great. The pictures alone look great - but they taste even better than they appear. But the highlight for me was the Tie-Dye Pie. It doesn't make sense how good it is. It is super light and crisp, yet the vodka sauce gives it a richness. It is so well balanced - probably my favorite thin crust pie anywhere.

Came here on a random Sunday and was lucky to grab a seat. The space is pretty small, with 5-6 tables and the bar area seating. I could see why people wait to get in. The chicken caprese sandwich was fresh, and the rigatoni carbone was delicious. Fair portion and a Sunday lunch for 2 under $50 is always a win. Definitely recommend.

This location is filled with the greatest staff especially shout out to Rich. Great atmosphere and food never disappoints. The rigatoni Carbone with chicken cutlets and ricotta cheese was 10/10 and the penne scampi was also very delicious

Small spot with a few tables in the back and a bar to sit at up front. We ordered the rigatoni Carbone and chicken parm, both were great portion sizes (we both had leftovers) we also ordered the “famous” garlic bread. Flavor was great, chicken wasn’t too thin or over breaded. Rigatoni was tasty without being too spicy. The garlic bread was our least favorite, $8 for 1 sesame hoagie cut in half and we honestly couldn’t taste any garlic.

it was nice. super cute. got french toast and yes a few parts were undercooked but other than that it was good. nice thick bread and crispy on the outside. the maple butter tasted a little freezer burnt and was a tiny amount. the berry sauce was mostly just a thin sugar syrup with barely any berry. the mint was just a garnish. so yeah it was good but probably won't be back just because it was just good, not great.

Been to other The Grey Dog locations, first time at this one and did not disappoint! It was so good, we ordered our food and within 12 min everything was at the table. Loved it! The sweet potato fries were so delish. Orange juice is always fresh and tasty.

Sunday lunch and the place was packed. We had reservations and sat in the back. The space was cozy and fun. Our group of seven really enjoyed the upbeat playlist. Our server was attentive, patient and friendly. The group seemed to enjoy their food. I can only comment on my burger and sweet potato fries. It was fine but nothing memorable. The patty was on the smaller than most size. I’ll try something else next time.

Best brunch in NYC! prices are reachable and location is very convenient. I ordered avacado toast and my friend ordered French toast. So delicious, portions are big. I love decoration and music is so good, too. Employees are very friendly. Great start for saturday morning.

Really cool place - if you didn’t know about it, you’d probably walk straight past it. The front looks like a very small ‘hole in the wall’ eatery but once you’re in, they direct you downstairs, through the kitchen, into the restaurant. Nice bar area, nice ambiance. A bit dark inside and loud music, tables quite close together, but good food and great service. Definitely worth a visit.

stumbled upon La Esquina Brasserie entirely by accident, walking along Lafayette Street in New York, but what a find it turned out to be! A tour guide had mentioned it, but discovering it on my own made it feel like a hidden gem. The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. You head down the steps, and it’s like stepping into a secret speakeasy. The lighting was just right, creating a warm and inviting vibe. The barmen were fantastic—friendly, professional, and really added to the experience. The food was another highlight. Their tacos and other dishes were delicious, and the drinks paired perfectly. What surprised me most was how reasonably priced everything was; it felt like a luxury experience without breaking the bank. You have to try this place! you walk up to a very unassuming deli-like restaurant and note that you have a reservation for La Esquina - the place was empty - no tables, nothing. The host radios to somebody else that hes sending a party of 2 down. Then a hidden door in the wall opens and we are led to the basement of this building which is likely 100 years old - Very cool! - food was great and service was great too! Neat place!

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the underground speakeasy restaurant La Esquina. Reservation is required to access this one via a guarded door leading to the underground scene with cramped but very lively bar, restaurant and dj scene! Food is generally very good but nothing that particularly stands out as deserving five stars.

It’s a cute little restaurant. The margaritas were good, but the food was not great. If you’re looking for a spot to grab a quick drink, I would recommend it, but I would grab dinner somewhere else. Service was also not up to par.

A very nice, simple, yet delicious Mexican restaurant. The location and decor were really to my liking and fit the whole theme perfectly. The food was plentiful but tasty and the service was lightning fast. All the dishes were super fresh tasting and light except the burritas which stood out as the only heavy and somewhat dry dish in the bunch and could benefit from some sort of sauce. The tacos and quesadillas on the other hand were really very good and I would happily come back to try the rest of them.

Very unique Mexican restaurant on Elizabeth Street. The corn esquites was fantastic especially when chasing it down with a spicy margarita. Cool story how Tacombi started in Mexico in a VW bus. This bus ultimately made it to New York in 2010 and is in the restaurant today.

4.5 🌟 Came here after 11pm and probably had the best seat in the house; tucked in the back left a perfect table for two. Our server was friendly and helpful in suggestions. The bone marrow was a delicious and fatty starter, although it’s always a toss up with how much you’ll get. And the burger was great to split. Unfortunately they were already out of the apple strudel, but it sounded great.

Giving this pace 4 starts because 1. when we went in the summer there was no AC, so it was a bit hot and 2. I thought my salad was extremely mediocre and was very watery on the bottom. We were there pretty early on a weeknight (around 6:30pm) and didn’t have to wait in line to get seated, but the spot looked pretty busy around 8pm. Overall, if you’re in the area and looking to grab something and people watch, this is a good spot, but I wouldn’t travel to eat here.

We merely stopped here for a refreshment on a very hot New York City day. Cafe Select had a nice menu but alas, we were still digesting our lunch. So a coke and a margarita were on the order. Sitting up at the bar, out of the heat, we caught up on our plans for the rest of the day. The decor is absolutely gorgeous, with eye catching posters and prints and bud lights sprinkled across the entire ceiling. Had to take a photo of the Rolex clock mounted from the roof with Jim’s Omega watch in the foreground. Rolex’s fame of keeping accurate time didn’t hold up well against the Omega. 😂😂😂 If you come to dine, there is seating outdoors on the pavement which is enticing. Heard a lot of positive reviews about this place had to give it a try, especially for my daughter who has an elephant sized sweet tooth😉. This place does live up to the hype. It’s a very small shop, friendly service, no place to sit, however there is a standing bar table where you can stand and savor your cheese cakes. I tried the coconut and pineapple both were awesome. Will I go out of the way to try them - No ! I will give them a try if I am in the area and would like to have a bite size dessert.

I recently tried Eileen's Special Cheesecake and was blown away! The strawberry cheesecake was delightful, but the salted caramel cheesecake was absolutely incredible. The perfect balance of rich, creamy texture and sweet-salty flavor made it my favorite. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Eileen’s cheesecake is really special as the name of the store stays. You will enter in a tiny cute cheesecake store that will offer the best cheesecakes in New York. You will have the chance to taste more than one as they are mono portions. You will have the chance to take them with you, to eat them outside as there is a small table or directly inside the cute shop if there is some space. It is definitely worth a visit also for the kindness of its staff.

Yelp named this spot the #1 cheesecake in America, so I had to check it out! The staff was incredibly friendly, and they offer a great selection of flavors. However, there’s no seating or restrooms available, and while the prices are reasonable, the tart sizes are really small. If you prefer thick, dense cheesecake, you might prefer Junior's. But if you're into light, fluffy cheesecakes, this place will be perfect for you.

Eileen’s is definitely legendary and has some of the best cheesecakes in the City. Many would argue that Eileen’s is flat-out the best. I don’t know, but I’ve been coming here for years trying to decide. Yup, that’s my excuse! Eileen’s is a tiny place, and is pretty much packed from opening until closing. The lines move very quickly, and no matter how packed the tiny space is, you’ll be in and out surprisingly fast. On this trip I got four; plain, pineapple, blueberry, and strawberry dipped in white chocolate. All were heavenly and I honestly can’t even tell you which one was the ‘best’, as they were all equally delicious. Lighter than say Junior’s, but the richness was undeniable. Eileen’s remains one of my go-to places for outstanding cheesecake. As long as they keep making them, I’m going to keep eating them. I promise you that if you go, you won’t be disappointed.

Little Ruby’s really impressed me. I went there craving a burger, but was blown away by their chicken sandwich. It was one of the better fried chicken sandwiches I’ve had in recent memory. I was also impressed by how nice their little “outdoor”/curbside dining area was. It was very cozy and nice. Service was good too! All around pretty happy with the experience. I’d definitely come back. If you do end up checking it out, you HAVE to get the fried chicken sandwich.

I liked this place but it didn't seem that it lived up to the viral hype. The pancakes were not as great as I thought. They were good! But I've had better. The menu options seemed a little generic. But it is a decent casual spot for American dining. I got the Big Breakfast. It was like a higher end English breakfast. I have had English breakfasts in London and this was actually better. We sat outside during winter and it was crowded inside. Not ideal but I don't blame the restaurant for that. Wait staff was very nice. I would come here again but I wouldn't HAVE to come here again. But definitely better than other options you could do. Oh and we came without a reservation on Black Friday and waited about 30 minutes. Not bad for a popular place though.

Food here was absolutely delicious, I am not a fan of salads and I loved the salad here. To the point that I came back the day after to order the same item, would definitely recommend as a brunch place. Although spacing is a tad tight and there aren’t many tables, there could be a lot wait at peak hours. Servers may also disappear for a while if you are at the patio, so that was a bit of a struggle.

I have nothing to say for food. Definitely get the shrimp pasta and the bronte burger. Food are consistently good every time I visit. Since it’s a busy restaurant, compared to the number of server they are not attentive at all. Overall I enjoy this place a lot so that kinda equals out the experience.
