5 Star Rating A very pleasant experience. The snails were excellent, the onion soup was not bad, I had meat, the cooking and flavour were top notch, the fried potatoes were tasty and fresh, and the service was excellent. This is a place I would love to visit again and again. Nicase was wonderful, very helpful and made us feel very welcome. We are very grateful to her.

4 Star Rating We had a nice early dinner here on our trip to the city. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere is everything you’d expect. The food was great but did not quite live up to the expectations. We ordered the steak frites, gougeres, onion soup, ravioli, and short rib. Of the meal we would recommend the steak frites—the fries were amazing! The onion soup is also a must-order. The short rib was a bit dry. One thing to be mindful of when dining here is the proximity to neighbors, they really pack everyone they can get in here. Overall, would recommend going to cross it off the list.

5 Star Rating This restaurant has been on my wish list for quite a while now and since we were going to be in the city on Saturday, I met a reservation a month ahead of time. We had a reservation for 7:30 PM, but we were finished with everything we were doing and slowly worked our way down to Spring Street and arrived at 6:55 PM. We asked the maître d’ if we can possibly have a table and we were actually seated right away. Our server reminded us of the actress in Amelie, Audrey Tautou. She was very attentive & friendly. I started out with an old-fashioned and my partner had a glass of red wine, both were very good. We both shared the goat cheese and caramelized onion tart for an appetizer, and it was absolutely delicious. We are actually going to try to make this at home ourselves at some point. The crust was very light. My partner had a short ribs with polenta and I had beef bourguignon with mashed potatoes. He said the short ribs were the best he ever had. My meal was also very good. For dessert, we both shared the Paris Brest. It consisted of choux pastry with a hazelnut cream filling. My partner likes hazelnuts more than I do but I do have to admit it was very good. I also have to compliment the gentleman who kept filling my water glass, it never went empty. He was very attentive and friendly. Looking forward to coming back at some point, I heard the breakfast is very good there. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the people watching.

5 Star Rating Breakfast at Balthazar is one of those New York experiences that somehow still lives up to the well-deserved reputation. We visited on a chilly mid-December morning, and stepping into that buzzing, brass-and-mirror brasserie felt like instant warmth—equal parts Parisian café and classic NYC energy. Even at 10AM, the room hums in the best way: servers moving with purpose, espresso machines hissing, and tables filled with locals and visitors alike. The food was exactly what you hope for and then some. My wife loved the Asparagus, Leek, and Sweet Pea Quiche, which arrived perfectly set, rich without being heavy, and balanced beautifully by a fresh pile of mixed greens. My pancakes with fresh strawberries, banana, lime zest, and banana coulis were outstanding—light, fluffy, and indulgent without tipping into overly sweet. The lime zest was a subtle but smart touch that kept everything bright. We added a side of applewood smoked bacon, crisp and deeply flavorful, plus two generous caffè latte bowls that felt very on-brand for Balthazar: strong, comforting, and ideal for lingering. The Balthazar Green Juice—packed with kale, collards, apple, citrus, herbs, and cucumber—was vibrant and surprisingly refreshing, a nice counterpoint to the richer dishes. Service was polished and efficient without ever feeling rushed, which made the whole experience feel relaxed despite the restaurant’s constant buzz. What makes Balthazar feel truly special — beyond the excellent food and attentive service — is the vision behind it. Keith McNally, the restaurateur who opened this iconic SoHo brasserie and helped define New York’s downtown dining scene, brings a distinct personality to every room he touches. He’s been called “the restaurateur who invented downtown,” and his knack for creating spaces that feel both effortless and electric shines through at Balthazar. If you loved "I Regret Almost Everything", McNally’s popular and candid 2025 autobiography (which I absolutely did), this connection adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal. Breakfast at Balthazar isn’t just about the food (though it’s excellent); it’s about soaking up the atmosphere of a place that feels timeless. Whether you’re a longtime New Yorker or visiting for the first time, it’s a breakfast worth lingering over.

Service impeccable, a bit noisy but that’s because it’s always packed so reservation recommended. Just love the croissants and my wife had the bouillabaisse which was delicious and the Norwegian Benedict. I had was absolutely delicious with the smoked salmon. We will be back!

4 Star Rating Lure Fishbar had been on my list for a while. However, I think it is alright, leaving a bit to be desired. I’ll lead with the pros and minor misses - Pros - Uni bucatini was delectable, creamy, flavorful, the pasta was al dente and the red chilies cut through the richness occasionally so it was so easy to keep enjoying the dish The spicy tuna crispy rice was delicious. I love their little twist on the classic crispy rice that adds to the texture. Cant ever knock a crispy rice but this was definitely a memorable one! Crispy rock shrimp was addicting and crunchy. The batter was light and the shrimp were fresh and great! Minor misses - The seafood tower was a considerable let down. Aside from the shrimp, the oysters and clams were unpleasantly fishy and sandy. The seafood salad was also bland and chewy in a very unpleasant way. Though this is one minor miss, I would anticipate a seafood oriented restaurant to perfect their seafood towers Overall it’s a nice establishment. The interior design is unique and well thought out, mimicking the interior of a boat.

4 Star Rating Fun, quintessential little Italy vibes of an established New York City restaurant. Great service, and menu is much brighter than just pizza. Braised beef braciole and short rib anglotti were favorites for our table. Reservations took extensive planning and setting a timer at midnight to jump on it, but totally worth it. We went on a cold day where wait times were short, but I don’t think this is typical. Waiter was particularly attentive to our food, allergies, and double checked with the kitchen on ingredients. The menu is not overwhelming and there’s a focused list of desserts and beverages. The kind of place where options have been carefully honed over years of service. We also tried the tie-dye and honey pie pizzas. Crust was exceptionally thin. This is what New York style pizza is traditionally known for. If this is your thing, you’ll love it. They have it down to a science. A definite repeat. Would rate 7.5/10 for the pizza experience, but all else was a solid 9+.

4 Star Rating When in New York you have to get pizza right… well I think they need to clarify when they say that and tell you to get Rubirosa’s pizza. Came here on a recommendation, risked the long wait, and man was it worth it. We sat at the bar and were helped by Sergio! Ordered two pizzas. One was a traditional fresco. And the other a half and half gluten free with honey pie and tie dye. The gluten free was phenomenal. They don’t make their crust in house but it is from a local establishment. The vodka sauce on their tie dye is impeccable. I loved that the crust was crispy! I devoured it all. The half and half is the way to go!!! All of that said, when in New York get pizza. But make sure it is Rubirosa’s!! Knocking it down and star because of cost- gluten free is smaller than non but still same cost if not more…

4 Star Rating It is a rustic yet homey restaurant serving traditional Italian fares. Their thin crust pizza is crispy and chewy, and pasta is fresh with rich garlic savory pasta sauce. Their zappoli is perfectly fried crispy outside and doughy soft inside 🙂, and cocktails are delicious! It is a popular go to place and is crowded. So, you should make a reservation to avoid the long wait

5 Star Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rubirosa is pure comfort, warmth, and excellence from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance wrapped us up like being in a beloved grandma’s house — cozy, inviting, nostalgic, and full of heart. It’s the kind of place that instantly makes you relax and feel taken care of. The service was truly exceptional. Our server, Alyssa, was warm, attentive, and wonderful, but honestly the entire team went above and beyond. You can feel how much pride they take in what they do, and that energy carries through the whole experience. And then… the food. Absolutely outstanding. We started with the fried calamari — perfectly crispy and flavorful. The Supreme pizza and Bianca pizza were both phenomenal, each bite better than the last. Even the bread was delicious (which says a lot). We finished with the tiramisu, which was rich, balanced, and the perfect ending. The espresso martinis deserve their own mention — smooth, rich, perfectly balanced, and honestly some of the best I’ve had. The ideal complement to an already incredible meal. But the moment that really sealed it? They brought out a mini pizza box filled with mini chocolate slices. Thoughtful, playful, and unforgettable. Everything was truly delectable. Rubirosa is one of those rare places that gets everything right — atmosphere, service, drinks, and food. I will absolutely be coming back, even if it’s out of my way. Highly, highly recommend.

5 Star Rating Amazing Mac n cheese!!! I’m from Wisconsin so I’m very picky when it comes to Mac n cheese. Macbeth did not disappoint. I got the mushroom one and it was very cheesy!!! It had a little bit of spice which I wish I knew beforehand so I would have either asked to make it without the spice or would have gone with the classic. Despite that, it was still very delicious. Next time I’m in NYC I’d love to come back and try some of the other ones on the menu. The space itself is small and we were the only people there. It’s all yellow and has a cool design but it is small with only few tables for seating. They didn’t have cups of water, you had to purchase drinks so that’s my only complaint about the place.

5 Star Rating Amazing random find while walking around looking for dinner. Had to stop in because who doesn't love mac n cheese?? Small but cozy shop with comfortable seating. Took about 15 minutes to prepare, but completely worth the wait. I got the margarita mac, it was delicious and light. The medium size was a good dinner portion for me. The dishes were mac n cheese themed, which kept the food hot but allowed you to handle without worry. The plasticwear had an interesting design were they clicked together for storage. Overall the food and atmosphere were amazing and I'll definitely be going back to try other mac n cheese combinations!!

3 Star Rating The service was underwhelming at best. Very transactional feeling to the business. About 10 people can sit inside at most to eat. Probably better for take out. They told me to expect 15’min for prep. Took about 15-20. Pretty standard. The food: I got the mushroom Mac and cheese - again, not overly impressed, but not bad. very “alright.” Decent spot for a quick-ish bite, especially a salty/savory/cheesy bite.

4 Star Rating Parm has been around a while, and I finally made it to the original location. It’s classic, old-school Italian-American comfort food. The space is pretty small and they don’t take reservations, so keep that in mind. I grabbed a seat at the bar during happy hour, weekdays from 3 to 7. The drink menu is limited, but a white wine did the job. It does get busy, though the bar is full service, which helps. We started with the garlic bread, cut into six pieces and sprinkled with parm. You HAVE TO add the fresh mozzarella. *chef’s kiss* I went with the chicken parm platter, which came with rigatoni carbone. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The spicy vodka sauce was good but could have used a bit more heat. The chicken parm itself was solid and comforting. Overall, I’d recommend it and would definitely come back.

5 Star Rating Overall – look, it is a goal of mine if I’m the best part in New York City I don’t know if the best or considered the best. I’m really like this place. I usually order it for work but tonight I went with friends to show them a meal that I like they also loved everything however they didn’t love the parm as much as I do. I think they’re just parm haters, but I think it’s great. It’s a no-frills place simple bustling little shop not a lot of space but that’s what makes it so charming my friends like all the food here we had a great time Food – as I said earlier, I came over for the parm. I’ve had the parm many times so I love the parm here. It’s not too crazy expensive it’s just a normal good poem however, this time I ordered other things like a Caesar salad, which is delicious. How can you mess up a Caesar salad salad? We also had the calamari which is delicious and fried and we had the meatballs which actually I’ve been craving meatballs eating oh, that was great We also got another pasta. I don’t know what it was but it’s located in my pictures. Overall everything went well together. Everything is delicious. Everything is on power with taste. Yes, please. Atmosphere – as mentioned earlier, it’s a small place. I am so lucky we got a spot we went in. We put our name down and within moments we got a cute little spot in the back corner. We were very lucky I’ve seen lines of this place and it makes experience so much better being able to get in quickly however, I wonder if we were just very lucky the staff was good. The food was fast and the atmosphere is just cute. It’s just simple. It’s not overdoing it with white tablecloths. There are a lot of these these Italian places that go too far. It’s cute. It’s simple that’s it.

4 Star Rating Heard this place has the same owner as Carbone so wanted to try it. I enjoyed the bar setup and the staff were really friendly. There is an open kitchen so you can see the cooking process. However, the food is definitely not true Italian. I would consider it as Americanized Italian. No reservations I heard this place shares the same owner as Carbone, so I decided to give it a try. The bar setup was great, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The open kitchen allowed me to witness the cooking process, which was interesting. However, the food here is definitely not authentic Italian. It’s more of an Americanized Italian cuisine. There are no reservations.

2 Star Rating The only reason this spot gets two stars is because of the waitress, who provided incredible service. Otherwise, this place was lame. The entrance is a gimmick and doesn’t make up for the atmosphere. Most restaurants in NYC are claustrophobic, but this was especially bad. Smelled slightly of sewage. The food was good, but I received what must have been a sample of the menu. The tostadas were the size of a small tortilla chip, and the prices were comparable to those at significantly better restaurants. Left hungry, quickly, and disappointed. It should probably advertise as a bar rather than a restaurant. Keep the food in the cantina upstairs, leave the basement for drinks.

5 Star Rating I had the pastor tacos , steak and chicken. All good. I had a great time and the tacos were all delicious. I would absolutely come here again. The service was quick and just overall worth it on Tuesday.

5 Star Rating Loved cafe select for the $39/pp fondue meal! We ate and ate and ate! Service was mildly slow getting water but otherwise we loved the ambience and got into the private room in the back which has 2 tables of 3 people.

4 Star Rating Nice European-style café with a Swiss-inspired menu. We had the cheese fondue, which was good, but as a Swiss person I wouldn’t say it’s comparable to fondue in Switzerland. Everything is quite expensive. For dessert, I ordered the Engadine nut cake and was honestly disappointed: it was more like a pecan nut cake and wasn’t authentic at all. Overall a nice spot, but a bit overpriced and not fully true to the Swiss classics.

5 Star Rating Great Swiss restaurant centrally located in SoHo. The bratwurst with rösti was delicious and very satisfying. And lovely Zürcher Geschnetzeltes and rösti with raclette cheese. Nice wine selection too including some Swiss wines such as Chasselas. Great outdoor seating perfect for people watching. Nice Swiss-inspired decor throughout the restaurant. Short of traveling to Zurich or Basel, this is the next best thing.

4 Star Rating Giving this pace 4 starts because 1. when we went in the summer there was no AC, so it was a bit hot and 2. I thought my salad was extremely mediocre and was very watery on the bottom. We were there pretty early on a weeknight (around 6:30pm) and didn’t have to wait in line to get seated, but the spot looked pretty busy around 8pm. Overall, if you’re in the area and looking to grab something and people watch, this is a good spot, but I wouldn’t travel to eat here.

5 Star Rating I LOVE Eileen’s cheesecake and I do not like cheesecake! This is something special and next level from 98% of cheesecake made. It’s fresh and the flavors are on point. It’s not too sweet, staff is always pleasant. Been eating here for well over a decade, not disappointed once. My favorite fruit is raspberry, pineapple, strawberry. My favorite non fruit is salted caramel and low sugar. The crust is so delicate. Keep up the great job!

4 Star Rating Each mini cheesecake was delicious and perfectly portioned for one person — rich, creamy, and full of flavor without being too heavy. The service was just as impressive — warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. The only downside is that the space is quite small, which makes standing and eating at the countertop a bit tricky. Still, the cozy vibe and incredible desserts make it well worth the visit. Highly recommend stopping by for a sweet pick-me-up!

5 Star Rating I recently visited Eileen’s Special Cheesecake in New York and tried their classic cheesecake — and wow, it was absolutely amazing. The texture struck the perfect balance between creamy and light, with just the right amount of richness that didn’t feel heavy. The crust had a subtle crunch that complemented the smooth filling beautifully. What stood out most was the flavor — not overly sweet, but perfectly balanced, letting the tang of the cream cheese really shine through. It’s the kind of cheesecake that feels timeless and comforting, yet still indulgent. If you’re in NYC and love cheesecake (or even if you think you don’t), this spot is a must-visit. The classic alone is worth the trip.

5 Star Rating I’m not even a fan of sugar or desserts, but my friends brought me here and wow. The only dessert I never turn down is cheesecake, and Eileen’s took my taste buds to a whole new level. From the perfect crust, to the rich density, to the way it literally melts in your mouth, this cheesecake is on another level. I only wish they shipped to other cities because I’d order monthly. Great service, great people, and great prices. The place is always full, which should tell you just how amazing their cakes are. I’ll definitely be back again. 🔥🔥

5 Star Rating The cheesecake at Eileen's is, without a doubt, the best cheesecake in New York City, in my humble opinion. Unlike the heavy, overly dense cakes you find elsewhere, Eileen's has a remarkably light, fluffy, and creamy texture that melts in your mouth. It's incredibly flavorful, and has a lite taste. Love that you can truly appreciate the quality of the ingredients. The individual-sized cheesecakes are perfect. I ordered strawberry, and salted caramel each individual cost $6.50 each. Customers can purchase bigger size cheesecakes, and Eileen’s ship nationwide. The smaller individual cheesecakes options allow you to try multiple delicious flavors in one visit. From the classic plain, rich salted caramel, fruity strawberry, cherry, and blueberry. The shop on Cleveland Place has a cozy, old-school charm that adds to the experience, and while the space is small, if there is a line, just know, the line moves quickly thanks to the friendly and efficient staff. A visit to Eileen's is a must-do for any cheesecake lover in the city. Eileen’s is a Soho must visit!
