5 Star Rating I went to Balthazar on a Monday night and had such a great experience! I was seated right away and my server, Madeline, was super kind and attentive. She offered me a complimentary mocktail as soon as I sat down — it was originally a champagne, but since I don’t drink, she happily swapped it for a ginger mocktail, which was really good. This was my first time at Balthazar, and everything I ordered was amazing — the French onion soup, steak frites, profiteroles, and coffee. The soup was rich and flavorful, my steak was cooked perfectly (medium well, just right), and dessert was the perfect finish. Service was excellent — Madeline checked on me at just the right times, and I never had to look around for her. Everything was delicious, and I left super happy with my experience. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

4 Star Rating We had a nice early dinner here on our trip to the city. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere is everything you’d expect. The food was great but did not quite live up to the expectations. We ordered the steak frites, gougeres, onion soup, ravioli, and short rib. Of the meal we would recommend the steak frites—the fries were amazing! The onion soup is also a must-order. The short rib was a bit dry. One thing to be mindful of when dining here is the proximity to neighbors, they really pack everyone they can get in here. Overall, would recommend going to cross it off the list.

5 Star Rating We had a lovely early dinner here during our city trip. The staff were super friendly, and the vibe was warm and lively. The food was delicious—especially the truffle fries and onion soup! The short rib could’ve been a bit more tender, but overall everything was great. Tables are a little close, but that’s part of the charm. Definitely worth a visit!

5 Star Rating Our plane back to NY was delayed so we cancelled our reservation and ended up at Balthazar at 11p on a Wednesday. The dining was lively and mostly full when we arrived. We were seated I a 2 top, corner booth that was perfect, and very comfortable. I ordered a gin martini that was served ice cold. My wife and I split the endive salad (I love the pickled pears), a cheeseburger with fries delicious), haricot vert (perfectly cooked and so fresh) and a caramelized and bruleed banana tart (gorgeous and excellent). When we left, well after midnight, the bar was still crowded with patrons enjoying themselves and bartenders who weren’t trying to rush them. What a nice and fun night! Thanks Keith. Also, I really enjoyed your book.

5 Star Rating Breakfast at Baltazar had been on my bucket list for a while. I had the opportunity to return to New York City this past week and took advantage. With the publication of Keith McNally‘s memoir earlier this year, the experience was even more poignant. The service, as expected, was outstanding. The ambience was perfect, transporting you to a Parisian brasserie. And let’s not forget the food. Simply amazing.

5 Star Rating This place is absolutely wonderful beautifully decorated and incredibly cozy. I felt like I was inside an old luxury ship, and the atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. We ordered the impeccable shrimp tempura, which completely won my heart ,so flavorful and fresh. We also had a few sushi pieces, and each one was perfectly prepared and incredibly fresh. I loved everything!

3 Star Rating The service was top notch. The atmosphere is just absolutely adorable. Designed to feel like you are on a boat, the portholes especially were awesome. It felt warm and cozy with the wood tones and plaid chairs. The menu is good. Maybe they are more known for their sushi. We had two of the fish dishes...the Branzina and the halibut. Both really had almost no flavor which was disappointing given their description. The lobster bisque had a Smokey flavor and dare i say it, almost too many big chicks of lobster not mention $24 a bowl. I'd go back because of the inviting atmosphere but i think I'd try the sushi

4 Star Rating When in New York you have to get pizza right… well I think they need to clarify when they say that and tell you to get Rubirosa’s pizza. Came here on a recommendation, risked the long wait, and man was it worth it. We sat at the bar and were helped by Sergio! Ordered two pizzas. One was a traditional fresco. And the other a half and half gluten free with honey pie and tie dye. The gluten free was phenomenal. They don’t make their crust in house but it is from a local establishment. The vodka sauce on their tie dye is impeccable. I loved that the crust was crispy! I devoured it all. The half and half is the way to go!!! All of that said, when in New York get pizza. But make sure it is Rubirosa’s!! Knocking it down and star because of cost- gluten free is smaller than non but still same cost if not more…

5 Star Rating Definitely a restaurant geared for a younger crowd. But, we had a delicious dinner. We started with a Caesar salad and asked for A side of anchovies. The salad was generous and lightly dressed. We also started with an order of the eggplant Parmesan. The eggplant was tender and the red sauce was Fresh and tangy. For our entrée, we shared an order of the cavatelli with broccoli rabe and Italian sausage. With that, we ordered a side of the broccoli rabe with garlic. Everything ordered was very good and I am impressed.

4 Star Rating Highly recommend making reservations, especially over the weekends. If not, be prepared to wait OR quick to order for pick-up and see whatever gets to you faster: your pizza to go or your seat. We arrived with no reservations ima Saturday evening and the wait for either bar or table seating was expected to be just over 1 hour, which we expected. We ordered pizza via DoorDash for pick-up of the small half classic and half hot honey pizza. The hostess was friendly and placed us on the waitlist via text system. Our pizza for pick-up arrived first and it was easy to remove yourself from the waitlist. Now the pizza was good to share between two people. Nice thin crust, nice char, loved the cheese/sauce ratio (more cheese), now the hot honey pizza I wasn’t a fan of the soppresatta and should have subbed it for pepperoni. Overall great pie and would come back, but only with reservations or for pick-up. Not able to comment on service as we picked-up but the hostess was friendly.

4 Star Rating The food at Rubirosa is absolutely delicious and lives up to its hype! I loved everything, and the sauce on the pizza is tangy and unique. Service was good, however I made a reservation and chose a time that specifically stated we would receive a regular table rather than bar or elevated table seating. When we arrived, we were seated at an elevated table with no alternate choice. I wish that our reservation selection was honored as we booked in advance and came on time. For me, it wasn't a big issue but it may be good to keep in mind when booking!

4 Star Rating Parm 248 Mulberry St. New York, NY 10012 Appearance 8/10 Taste 7.4/10 The name of this mini restaurant chain enticed me to explore their CP entrée. The ambiance is casual with oldies music playing in the background. This plate was on the spicy side; this the first time I was offered red pepper seasoning for the dish. The fusilli was smothered in creamy vodka sauce and was very tasty. The only drawback about the pasta was there was an overwhelming amount; I would have preferred a slightly larger cutlet and less pasta. The cutlet itself was overall decent. There was a perfect ratio of mozzarella cheese and sauce and the basil leaf added a nice flavor. The sauce on the cutlet was not the same was the sauce on the fusilli, but I still enjoyed it. The cutlet definitely needed more breading. #chickenparm #chickenparmesan #parm #parmnyc #chickenparmreview #fusilli

5 Star Rating stumbled upon La Esquina Brasserie entirely by accident, walking along Lafayette Street in New York, but what a find it turned out to be! A tour guide had mentioned it, but discovering it on my own made it feel like a hidden gem. The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. You head down the steps, and it’s like stepping into a secret speakeasy. The lighting was just right, creating a warm and inviting vibe. The barmen were fantastic—friendly, professional, and really added to the experience. The food was another highlight. Their tacos and other dishes were delicious, and the drinks paired perfectly. What surprised me most was how reasonably priced everything was; it felt like a luxury experience without breaking the bank. The crowd there was equally wonderful—friendly, relaxed, and lovely to chat with. It added to the charm of the place. I’d recommend La Esquina Brasserie to anyone looking for a unique and memorable spot in New York. It’s more than a meal—it’s an experience you won’t forget.

This is my honest review of the underground speakeasy restaurant La Esquina. Food is generally very good but nothing that particularly stands out as deserving five stars.

5 Star Rating I LOVE Eileen’s cheesecake and I do not like cheesecake! This is something special and next level from 98% of cheesecake made. It’s fresh and the flavors are on point. It’s not too sweet, staff is always pleasant. Been eating here for well over a decade, not disappointed once. My favorite fruit is raspberry, pineapple, strawberry. My favorite non fruit is salted caramel and low sugar. The crust is so delicate. Keep up the great job!

4 Star Rating Each mini cheesecake was delicious and perfectly portioned for one person — rich, creamy, and full of flavor without being too heavy. The service was just as impressive — warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. The only downside is that the space is quite small, which makes standing and eating at the countertop a bit tricky. Still, the cozy vibe and incredible desserts make it well worth the visit. Highly recommend stopping by for a sweet pick-me-up!

5 Star Rating I recently visited Eileen’s Special Cheesecake in New York and tried their classic cheesecake — and wow, it was absolutely amazing. The texture struck the perfect balance between creamy and light, with just the right amount of richness that didn’t feel heavy. The crust had a subtle crunch that complemented the smooth filling beautifully. What stood out most was the flavor — not overly sweet, but perfectly balanced, letting the tang of the cream cheese really shine through. It’s the kind of cheesecake that feels timeless and comforting, yet still indulgent. If you’re in NYC and love cheesecake (or even if you think you don’t), this spot is a must-visit. The classic alone is worth the trip.

From the perfect crust, to the rich density, to the way it literally melts in your mouth, this cheesecake is on another level. I only wish they shipped to other cities because I’d order monthly. Great service, great people, and great prices. The place is always full, which should tell you just how amazing their cakes are. I’ll definitely be back again. 🔥🔥

5 Star Rating The cheesecake at Eileen's is, without a doubt, the best cheesecake in New York City, in my humble opinion. Unlike the heavy, overly dense cakes you find elsewhere, Eileen's has a remarkably light, fluffy, and creamy texture that melts in your mouth. It's incredibly flavorful, and has a lite taste. Love that you can truly appreciate the quality of the ingredients. The individual-sized cheesecakes are perfect. I ordered strawberry, and salted caramel each individual cost $6.50 each. Customers can purchase bigger size cheesecakes, and Eileen’s ship nationwide. The smaller individual cheesecakes options allow you to try multiple delicious flavors in one visit. From the classic plain, rich salted caramel, fruity strawberry, cherry, and blueberry. The shop on Cleveland Place has a cozy, old-school charm that adds to the experience, and while the space is small, if there is a line, just know, the line moves quickly thanks to the friendly and efficient staff. A visit to Eileen's is a must-do for any cheesecake lover in the city. Eileen’s is a Soho must visit!

3 Star Rating The place is small and can get quite busy. The food was decent overall. The hotcakes were a bit heavy, but that's expected for pancakes. My breakfast sandwich was flavorful and just enough to satisfy, though the bottom of the bread was soggy. My companions enjoyed their big breakfast and the classic cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. We also ordered regular fries with truffle, which were tasty. The service was great, and the prices were affordable. If you're looking for a quick brunch in the area, this place has a variety of other options too.

5 Star Rating I was in Soho last Tuesday and decided to meet up with some friends of mine who were also in the neighborhood. They suggested we visit Little Ruby's since I've never been there and it was close to where we already were. The place was packed and the atmosphere was such a vibe. Loved the decor and the overall feel of this place. We were greeted by one of the servers with menus and automatically knew what we wanted to order when we saw the selection of food. I ordered The Ruby's Ragu: braised beef short rib with pappardelle noodles, pecorino and burrata. Friend number two ordered The Pesto Pasta: spaghetti, zucchini, baby peas, snap peas, kale, parmesan, creamy pumpkin seed pesto. Friend number three ordered The Classic Cheeseburger: two 3oz beef patties, L.T.O., pickles, American cheese, special sauce on a potato bun. We also had a large Margarita Pitcher to share. My Ragu was good, not over seasoned and the braised beef was cooked to perfection. The noodles were also good and all the ingredients together served its purpose. My friends enjoyed their meals as well because their plates were all licked clean. The one thing I wish I was able to order was some Tequila, however, they only had wine and beer on the menu. Great conversations were had over some good food and Margaritas in this cozy place full of great vibes. Definitely worth checking out.

5 Star Rating One of my go-to pasta spots. I usually get the spicy vodka pasta or the shrimp pasta, and I really love their sweet potato fries. I’ve come here with friends for both brunch and dinner, and I’d recommend it for either. The only thing to note is that the tables and space can feel a bit tight.

3 Star Rating Food is pretty average and price is standard given the area. I enjoyed the shrimp pasta and appreciated that they were de-veined and had their tails removed. Definitely get the fries with truffle aioli. Heard a lot about this spot for years and never got to try it until today. Host and wait staff tend to come off hostile and unwelcoming (don't take it personal)-- bound to happen when an establishment is predominantly catered to and run by transplants. A cute place to have brunch with friends, but don't expect comfort enjoying your meal without feeling rushed/pressured to leave.

5 Star Rating Stopped by for dinner and was pleasantly surprised! The shrimp pasta was definitely the highlight — flavorful, perfectly cooked, and satisfying without being too heavy. The atmosphere was lively and service was quick. Great spot for a casual meal with solid portions and good vibes. Would come back to try more dishes.
