The food came out super fast! Just a heads up, it’s a good idea to make a reservation. The only thing we wished for was a side dish choice with the chicken, potatoes, and veggies would have been a step up rather than French fries. But the spinach ravioli was amazing! It had such great flavors and a light, zesty lemon taste.
They also have an oyster bar.

Popped in for my birthday lunch. Marvelous swanky bustling atmosphere- exquisite old world ambience - very succulent tender escargots in garlic butter- a smart lamb sandwich- my friend had a very tender tasty chicken breast. Cheers to the Maitre’d on March 18 who came over to enquire how everything was going - and on learning I was celebrating my birthday offered us champagne….that was so darling- thank you!!!!
Then for dessert we had a pear flan with pear sorbet - and creme brûlée- my dessert appeared with the perfunctory single birthday candle!
We had a marvelous experience- the service was quick and our server was especially attentive. Beautiful atmosphere for any occasion - from a quick bite solo - or the entire family!

I’ve always wanted to try Balthazar, and the perfect excuse finally came when I was looking for a French spot open for lunch on a Monday to celebrate a friend’s birthday.
I was honestly surprised; the outside doesn’t do it justice. The interior is stunning, warm, elegant, and full of that classic Parisian charm. It feels way fancier than you’d expect from the street.
The menu leans a little pricey, especially compared to other well-known French spots in the city, but some items stood out. The foie gras appetizer was divine and took me right back to Paris in the best way. And the bread selection? Incredible. Next time I’m in SoHo, I might swing by for some sourdough. It was that good.
Overall, it’s a lovely spot for a special lunch, and I’m glad we finally made it there.

Balthazar was absolutely amazing. The space is stunning—beautifully designed and surprisingly spacious. From the moment I walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming and warm. One thoughtful touch that really stood out: they offer a glass of champagne to solo diners, which I thought was the most adorable and classy gesture.
As for the food—everything was phenomenal. I started with the seafood ceviche, which was fresh and perfectly balanced. The steak frites were cooked to perfection, with a rich, flavorful sauce and crispy fries. I also had a side of spinach that was buttery and delicious, and ended the meal with their toffee pudding—sweet, decadent, and totally worth it. I paired everything with a cocktail, and every single bite and sip was amazing.
Highly recommend this place whether you’re dining with others or treating yourself. It’s a full experience, not just a meal.

An exceptional experience that rivals the best Parisian brasseries — Balthazar masterfully captures both the atmosphere and the flavors. The wine list is impressively extensive, and the French specialties, though slightly on the pricier side, justify it with near-gastronomic twists. The desserts, sourced from the bakery-pastry, are outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant in the heart of Soho.

Super fast service, iconic food.
We arrived around 5:30pm on a Saturday and we were seated before 6pm. Expect a wait, it's a popular place. We got the pepperoni pizza and an order of meatballs and both were delicious. The meatballs came in an ample amount of sauce which we scooped up with the crust of the pizza to make sure none of it went to waste.
It's cash only, so make sure you bring cash or are prepared to use the ATM.
I also really enjoyed the classic feel of the decor and the celebration of heroes on the walls.

Lombardi’s is a historic spot and definitely worth a visit if you're in NYC! The atmosphere is classic and cozy, and the service is friendly and attentive. The pizza is solid—authentic, with a great thin crust and quality toppings. However, I found the garlic to be a bit overwhelming for my taste. It was very garlicky, which took away from the overall balance of flavors. If you love garlic, you'll definitely enjoy it, but for me, it was a bit too much.
Still, I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a taste of NYC pizza history!

Ok, born and raised in Brooklyn and I've never been here in 40 years. My family come to visit from Wisconsin and talks non-stop about this place. What and amazing Italian pizza experience. Definitely worth the meal. FYI... Cash only!

My daughter and I visited Lombardi on 1/1/2025 and were their first guests of 2025. The service was great, the food was amazing- fresh herb and sauce, pasta and pizza portion are great (we are from TX), and the bread sticks were still steaming when they came to the table with nice crunch outside but soft inside. They packed our leftover pizza so well so we could easily take it to the Liberty Island for the rest of day. In the end they surprised us with a piece of cherry cheesecake and told us our lunch was on them because we were their first customers of 2025! 😄 We were in disbelief and surprised and so beyond thankful to their kindness.
We ate the pizza leftover the same evening after watching a show and they were still yummy even without heating it up.
Thanks to John and the other staff. You guys made our 2025 begin with wonderful memory and blessing.

Really cool place - if you didn’t know about it, you’d probably walk straight past it. The front looks like a very small ‘hole in the wall’ eatery but once you’re in, they direct you downstairs, through the kitchen, into the restaurant. Nice bar area, nice ambiance. A bit dark inside and loud music, tables quite close together, but good food and great service. Definitely worth a visit.

stumbled upon La Esquina Brasserie entirely by accident, walking along Lafayette Street in New York, but what a find it turned out to be! A tour guide had mentioned it, but discovering it on my own made it feel like a hidden gem.
The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. You head down the steps, and it’s like stepping into a secret speakeasy. The lighting was just right, creating a warm and inviting vibe. The barmen were fantastic—friendly, professional, and really added to the experience.
The food was another highlight. Their tacos and other dishes were delicious, and the drinks paired perfectly. What surprised me most was how reasonably priced everything was; it felt like a luxury experience without breaking the bank.
The crowd there was equally wonderful—friendly, relaxed, and lovely to chat with. It added to the charm of the place.
I’d recommend La Esquina Brasserie to anyone looking for a unique and memorable spot in New York. It’s more than a meal—it’s an experience you won’t forget.

You have to try this place! you walk up to a very unassuming deli-like restaurant and note that you have a reservation for La Esquina - the place was empty - no tables, nothing. The host radios to somebody else that hes sending a party of 2 down. Then a hidden door in the wall opens and we are led to the basement of this building which is likely 100 years old - Very cool! - food was great and service was great too! Neat place!

I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the underground speakeasy restaurant La Esquina. Reservation is required to access this one via a guarded door leading to the underground scene with cramped but very lively bar, restaurant and dj scene! Food is generally very good but nothing that particularly stands out as deserving five stars.

It’s a cute little restaurant. The margaritas were good, but the food was not great. If you’re looking for a spot to grab a quick drink, I would recommend it, but I would grab dinner somewhere else. Service was also not up to par.

Update: Julio, thanks for taking the time to write me back. I now appreciate the complexity that goes into running a restaurant with fantastic food, great value, huge demand, and limited seating. I have revised my review to 5 stars. Thank you
Good spot in the heart of downtown. Wish they weren't so crazy about the reservation system. It seems the only way to get a table is to show up and get on the list, then wait 30 mins. The irony of it all is that there are always a ton of tables empty inside. Such is the allure, seems they are just trying to make people wait to increase anticipation. They also wouldn't switch our table as we were right under the AC - they claimed they had "another reservation" but I thought they don't take reservations? Strange.
That all said, the food is excellent. Pizza is perfect. Very well priced.
Hal Doueck - 2 months ago
We give Rubirosa a solid 4 stars. We wanted to like it more, but thought the pizza was just alright compared to others. But that might be on us because we couldn’t have the popular tie dye pie. The Wild Mushroom special was great, the Hot Honey (without pork) was ok. Garlic knots were perfect. Service is okay. It’s a nice vibe, it’s loud though if you’re looking for a conversation.

Located on Nolita, Rubirosa has developed into a much loved Italian restaurant known for their pizza. Wafer thin crusts make it tasty to eat. Beverly and I had lunch here recently for yet another birthday celebration. We had one pizza. One half was the Arugula with tomato sauce, red onion, parmigiana and balsamic and the other half was the “Tie Dye” with a topping of vodka, tomatoes, mozzarella and pesto. We shared a arugula salad anointed with a refredhing lemon vinaigrette that was quite large. The arrival of the pizza was heralded with joy! We ate well and the one slice left I took home. Star, our server, gave me a cookie lit with a candle as we skipped dessert being too full. One can get a reservation on Resy for Rubirosa but as it has become so popular it is at times difficult to snag a reservation. I have been having pizza here for decades and in those days walking in to eat was easy. Aurpita and Michelle, the two charming hostesses, made us feel welcome and gave me hope that I would be able to enjoy lunch here once again.

OMG, the food here was amazing! We came across this place by accident — we couldn’t find anything interesting in the main part of Little Italy, and this spot caught our eye on the map. I'm so glad we decided to check it out.
The drinks were great and strong, the pizza was superb, and the Cacio e Pepe pasta was absolutely delicious! The cheesecake was nice too! The restaurant itself has a lot of character, though it is a bit tight in there...
J K - a month ago
Worth the wait and the slightly cramped space. Everything we ordered here was surprisingly great. The pictures alone look great - but they taste even better than they appear. But the highlight for me was the Tie-Dye Pie. It doesn't make sense how good it is. It is super light and crisp, yet the vodka sauce gives it a richness. It is so well balanced - probably my favorite thin crust pie anywhere.

Title: Café Habana: A Cozy Nolita Spot with Standout Grilled Corn
Review:
After a demanding workday, I recently dined at Café Habana, a quaint Cuban-Mexican eatery nestled in Nolita. From the exterior, the establishment appeared closed, but a quick peek through the windows revealed its doors were open.
The interior is compact, exuding more of a bar or tavern ambiance than a traditional restaurant. This cozy setting contributes to its unique New York City charm. The service, while not particularly swift, was satisfactory; however, I noticed that staff didn't check in during the meal, a touch often appreciated in dining experiences.
For my meal, I chose the grilled chicken cutlet plate accompanied by rice and black beans. The dish was enjoyable, aligning with standard offerings at similar Cuban establishments. The highlight, undoubtedly, was the grilled corn—a delightful combination of mayonnaise, cotija cheese, chili powder, and fresh lime—that lived up to its acclaim. It's no surprise that many patrons rave about this signature item.
One aspect that stood out was the absence of dessert options, which was unexpected. Additionally, the music selection leaned towards hip-hop and other genres, differing from the Latin rhythms I had anticipated. While it didn't detract from the experience, it was a notable deviation from the traditional ambiance one might expect.
In summary, Café Habana offers a cozy atmosphere with standout dishes like their renowned grilled corn. While some elements, such as music choice and dessert availability, differ from traditional expectations, it's a spot worth revisiting to explore more of their menu offerings.

The food was very delicious, the margarita was one of the best. The corn was almost too good. The service was fine. The restaurant was very busy, which is great…and kind of loud. No deal breaker, but, because it was so busy, the server never came to check up on us once we received our food. Plus, we were sitting by the door, so people would bump into us. Also: Pet Peeve: the app only had 20%, 23% and 25% for tipping. Nothing over…nothing under.
All the same, my kid and I look forward to returning…on a slower day. lol.

This place was OK. I will do my research first before coming to this restaurant. The name is a little deceiving as is not a fully Cuban restaurant. They don’t have many of the typical Cuban food cuisine, however, we were surprised to find the food was good not the most delicious but it wasn’t bad. It had a good flavor I will say that this restaurant is more of a Mexican cuisine than Cuban. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the corn on the cob was on point. We will definitely come back when we need a quick bite, but not when we need a full meal. The service was OK, but they seem to be overwhelmed by the amount of customers that the restaurant can handle we had to ask for napkins like three times also getting the attention of the servers was a difficult as they’re moving around a lot. The bathrooms are very tiny, the lighting is very dim, There is lots of posters and graffiti, but it goes with the neighborhood , I did not feel an AC running inside the restaurant so I am not sure if they run the AC during very hot days .Overall, not a bad place but again make sure you do you your research and check the menu before going in.

Wanted to come here for years but never did and finally my dad mentioned it while in town and we decided to go. The food was so so amazing, we both got the cubano with elote on the side. The price was part of my initial hesitation but as soon as I started eating I realized it was pretty worth it at $20 a person which isn’t so outrageous. The staff was super nice and friendly and the whole vibe was very fun. Definitely want to come back to try the breakfast at some point and will absolutely be back for the elote.

Sunday brunch idea- skip the typical cafes and come here! I love when I can get a lobster roll and sushi. My friends and I got brunch here and what I loved is that Lure offers breakfast foods like omelettes but also sushi, lobster rolls and main dishes. Our waiter was so cute and sweet bringing us crab rolls as compliments from the chef. So far this is one of my top seafood and sushi spots for taste, options, and service. I’ll be back & thanks Lure!

Great place, we were walking down the street and got caught with the view of the low windows into the restaurant, and we decided to book a table. We had good time, excellent food, they have also vegetarian option, we took the ravioli. Recommend on sea food if you're there, and we also tried one of the sushi rolls which was good as well. Would recommend if you are in the SoHo area and love seafood to try it out.

This photo was taken at our last visit, in July. My husband and daughter had dined here for lunch on a couple of occasions and this was our first time for dinner, all four of us.
It’s nestled in one of my favorite parts of town, and there’s something about the busy-ness of the place when it’s packed. Everyone there seemed to enjoy themselves, great food, good drinks, great service! We celebrated our daughter’s birthday this day. She didn’t want us to tell anyone so we kept it mum, but after several visits we can say it’s a great place to eat. Love the atmosphere, too.

Heard a lot of positive reviews about this place had to give it a try, especially for my daughter who has an elephant sized sweet tooth😉.
This place does live up to the hype. It’s a very small shop, friendly service, no place to sit, however there is a standing bar table where you can stand and savor your cheese cakes.
I tried the coconut and pineapple both were awesome. Will I go out of the way to try them - No !
I will give them a try if I am in the area and would like to have a bite size dessert.

Eileen’s cheesecake is really special as the name of the store stays.
You will enter in a tiny cute cheesecake store that will offer the best cheesecakes in New York. You will have the chance to taste more than one as they are mono portions.
You will have the chance to take them with you, to eat them outside as there is a small table or directly inside the cute shop if there is some space.
It is definitely worth a visit also for the kindness of its staff.

Yelp named this spot the #1 cheesecake in America, so I had to check it out! The staff was incredibly friendly, and they offer a great selection of flavors. However, there’s no seating or restrooms available, and while the prices are reasonable, the tart sizes are really small. If you prefer thick, dense cheesecake, you might prefer Junior's. But if you're into light, fluffy cheesecakes, this place will be perfect for you.
Kelly Lee - 4 months ago
Eileen’s is definitely legendary and has some of the best cheesecakes in the City. Many would argue that Eileen’s is flat-out the best. I don’t know, but I’ve been coming here for years trying to decide. Yup, that’s my excuse! Eileen’s is a tiny place, and is pretty much packed from opening until closing. The lines move very quickly, and no matter how packed the tiny space is, you’ll be in and out surprisingly fast. On this trip I got four; plain, pineapple, blueberry, and strawberry dipped in white chocolate. All were heavenly and I honestly can’t even tell you which one was the ‘best’, as they were all equally delicious. Lighter than say Junior’s, but the richness was undeniable. Eileen’s remains one of my go-to places for outstanding cheesecake. As long as they keep making them, I’m going to keep eating them. I promise you that if you go, you won’t be disappointed.

it was nice. super cute. got french toast and yes a few parts were undercooked but other than that it was good. nice thick bread and crispy on the outside. the maple butter tasted a little freezer burnt and was a tiny amount. the berry sauce was mostly just a thin sugar syrup with barely any berry. the mint was just a garnish. so yeah it was good but probably won't be back just because it was just good, not great.

Sunday lunch and the place was packed. We had reservations and sat in the back. The space was cozy and fun. Our group of seven really enjoyed the upbeat playlist. Our server was attentive, patient and friendly.
The group seemed to enjoy their food. I can only comment on my burger and sweet potato fries. It was fine but nothing memorable. The patty was on the smaller than most size.
I’ll try something else next time.

From the moment we walked in, the staff at Parm made us feel genuinely welcome. Their warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism elevated the entire dining experience. Every course was spot-on — fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. The chicken parm lived up to its reputation, and the sides and desserts were equally memorable. It’s rare to find a spot that nails both hospitality and food quality this well. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a consistently excellent meal in a vibrant, comfortable setting.

Came here on a random Sunday and was lucky to grab a seat. The space is pretty small, with 5-6 tables and the bar area seating. I could see why people wait to get in. The chicken caprese sandwich was fresh, and the rigatoni carbone was delicious. Fair portion and a Sunday lunch for 2 under $50 is always a win. Definitely recommend.

Small spot with a few tables in the back and a bar to sit at up front. We ordered the rigatoni Carbone and chicken parm, both were great portion sizes (we both had leftovers) we also ordered the “famous” garlic bread.
Flavor was great, chicken wasn’t too thin or over breaded. Rigatoni was tasty without being too spicy. The garlic bread was our least favorite, $8 for 1 sesame hoagie cut in half and we honestly couldn’t taste any garlic.

I came here with some friends on a Wednesday and it was a great experience. The menu selection is limited and we ordered a bottle of sancere which was quite nice. I definitely recommend the zucchini chips.

My friends and I had a lovely time this Wednesday evening. We ordered a bottled of Sancerre and a delicious cheese platter. The vibes were fun, music was great, loud enough to still enjoy a conversation.

Came here after 11pm and probably had the best seat in the house; tucked in the back left a perfect table for two.
Our server was friendly and helpful in suggestions. The bone marrow was a delicious and fatty starter, although it’s always a toss up with how much you’ll get. And the burger was great to split. Unfortunately they were already out of the apple strudel, but it sounded great.

You kinda pay for the vibes. The staff is amazing and unbelievably kind (maybe that’s just a Latino thing). Food was mid tho? And overpriced, but it’s soho, so MY BAD for wanting affordable food lol! My family is Latino and maybe we just don’t like this type of food but like, there was tinyyyy portions. Latte was fire 🥹🥲 and I forgot to take a pic of the food!

Visited to try fondue with my French friend. First time trying fondue for me. Even though I’m not really a cheese person, I really enjoyed the cheese of their classic fondue cause it had that slightly bitter and sour taste in it, which allowed me to not feel too greasy with having the cheese over and over again. In other words, the taste balance of the cheese itself was pretty amazing.
However, the bread that came along was so dry and lacked any texture into it, so dipping it into the cheese didn’t necessarily made any synergy, so too bad. They also provided fruits like apple/pear/grape and those sweet flavors went very ugly and weird when dipped into the cheese. My friend said he never saw fruits coming in as part of fondue during his entire life, so I guess it’s not a usual thing?
