Amazing experience. We went for one cocktail and ended up staying fur a while. Staff don’t rush you and make good effort to make you feel comfortable. We even had an extra stool brought out so we could sit at the bar. The entry fee is €15 and cocktails are €14-17.

Really magical place with an almost hidden entrance, a beautiful illuminated centrepiece and lovely staff that make you feel like you’re old friends. The pnstar martini was recommended me as their signature but I went with the vodka soda, which even in its simplicity was delicious. Guests were an interesting yet respectful arrangement between a fashion crowd, some Berlin cool kids and a sprinkling of older well-off couples.

Great place with amazing cocktails and very friendly, and caring service, especially the sweet lady at the bar that made sure we were comfortable with everything, cocktails were delicious, they actually asked us if we liked our drinks all the time, which I find to be a rarity for Germany, as usually customer service here is very lacking. They take random requests for cocktails and you can also ask them about their signature drinks, which they are happy to make for you. Hidden gem and the place that I will gladly come back to again and again, thank you so much guys ❤️

Came here for my birthday and was gagged by the service (by George), the dj set (by Liam), the band performance, the great cocktails and the great atmosphere with mixed of people who make it so interesting and enjoyable to watch and experience. Came back here 3 times in a row in two weeks… surely will be our regular bar nightout!

Difficult to find it if you don’t know. It’s a door in a wall with no sign of the bar. If you knock the door a “huge” door guy opens. The bar is really good! All the staff was really helpful and experienced! The only thing that I didn’t like is that is not actually a cocktail bar as we expected! There is a list of 10-12 options (mostly drinks and cocktails) and that’s it.
The other strange thing is that while we waited to enter we were informed that the entrance was 10€ / person and after 2 minutes the guy asked us to pay 15€ per person.

First time eating in this restaurant and it was an amazing experience.
Had steak and it was so tender and full of flavour, cooked perfectly (it looked and tasted so good that I forgot to take the photo). All the ingredients were fresh and cooked to be enjoyed. The deserts were very good, my favourite was the cheesecake in a cup. Definitely worthy of the money.
100% recommend this place and will return on a next visit to Berlin!!

Spent a really lovely evening, everything felt comfortable and relaxing, perfect spot for a quiet dinner and good vibes. One of those places where you enjoy not just the food, but the whole experience.
Magarrsuzannthapaa - 3 months ago
The location is great. We were 2 and ordered steaks which was mediocre. The waiter insisted on cutting it and by the time he did, it was already kinda cold. There was no seasoning. Even the pepper sauce was not seasoned well. The fries were kinda salty. For the price paid, the food is not that great.
The service was slow because they are understaffed.
The waiter at the end put a 10% tip for himself, and upon asking mentioned this is the norm. But this isn't and I think tourists should aware that no one can force you to tip and usually tips are only a few euros. Only in exceptional cases one pays a double digit tip. The service staff was friendly no doubt but they dint warrant a double digit tip. Not going to recommend this place to anyone and definitely not returning.

The service is super professional. The way they treated the customers was very cozy and warmhearted. This is the best service I had over two weeks in Berlin.
The food is excellent. Authentic yet mix nicely (the meat and Vegetables). I loved it!
I am so much willing to offer tips!

We set outside but was a little cold. Thankfully there was a blanket and heater. It was very busy night and the service was rather slow & can be a bit more friendly. The atmosphere was lively. It would be good if you visit on a nice summer night.

I really enjoyed my experience here. The fish and seafood were incredibly fresh, you can taste the quality right away. Everything was simple but done really well, letting the ingredients shine. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, with a big, lively dining space, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. What really stands out is the pricing, they were very reasonable and quite affordable for Berlin, especially considering the quality. Definitely a place I’d come back to and happily recommend
Dana Nassar - 5 months ago
GrI at food and selection. The quality is truly amazing and the staff works so great. I was siting at the “bar stand” where you can see the kitchen and it was truly amazing. The price and the quality matched great. Despite the place being busy service was high quality.

Oh, wow! Harasu (grilled salmon belly with unagi sauce) and Unagi Cey-Ro (grilled eel with unagi sauce) are ridiculously good! Miso soup and edamame are also delicious. Very high throughput guarantees freshness. Amazing place!

A good place to get your sushi fix. No frills, competent sushi bowls. Service is generwlly quick and the place can be pretty busy.
Max Vilimpoc - 4 months ago
I absolutely love this placeX it’s my favorite Japanese restaurant and I’ve tried quite a few across different cities.
The fish is incredibly fresh and what really stands out to me is the rice: it’s always warm, not like the cold sushi that tastes like it’s been sitting in the fridge all day.
Another big plus is the price. I’ve honestly never seen sushi of this quality at such a good value.
It can get quite crowded at times, but it’s definitely worth the wait. And once you’re seated, the food usually arrives very quickly.

Great food -Value Prices-River Seating. As experienced travellers sometimes you find a super place so you back there a number of times. Nobody rushes you. Selection of 20 beers on tap. Loved the schnitzel and the meatballs special. Best cream of asparagus soup I’ve ever had.
Gordon Gordey - 3 months ago
Looking for somewhere to sample some local beers on a busy Saturday late afternoon, we thought we’d try our luck at Berliner Republik.
It was very busy (not a bad thing), and without a reservation we weren’t hopeful of getting a seat. However, they managed to find us a spot up at the bar.
We enjoyed a flight of beers, then got another as the ‘stock market’ crashed and all drink prices fell (this place has a fun supply and demand pricing model for drinks, with current prices displayed on screens around the bar).
Having a good time (and a table!), we decided to try the food, which was a typical German offering. We tried one of the sausage options with red cabbage and mash. It was very simple, yet tasty and filling.
We were served by the bar staff, who were all friendly and engaging.
It was loud in here - but what would you expect in a busy bar on a Saturday night? We were still able to hold a normal conversation without having to shout.
Great little find, and would recommend for both drinks and food.

Came here with a friend to watch the Champions League final and had an absolute blast. The atmosphere was fantastic, with plenty of screens so you could follow the match from anywhere in the venue. Great selection of beers, fair prices, and excellent food. The schnitzel was particularly good.
What impressed me most was the service. I accidentally left my bag outside, and the staff kept it safe until I came back for it. That level of honesty and care says a lot about the place.
Friendly staff, great vibe, good food, and a perfect spot to watch football. Highly recommended!

Fab little place to eat on the edge of the river, so good that we went back two nights in a row! Good food, good drinks, great service, fab location-we ate on the pavement side one night and by the river the second night, both were great. Really recommend for some proper German food!
Nicola Lambourne - a month ago
Very good schnitzel, sausages very spiced (not for everyone you need to like this type of food). In general great experience, for the location it’s an honest pricing and they have good beer. I would come back. I’m used the Italian service which is much better, so I was a bit disappointed, but overall not that bad.

The food was delicious, and the service was very fast. The only downside was that there were a lot of bees around the outdoor seating area. I understand that's not the restaurant's fault, but it did make the experience a bit uncomfortable. Overall, I still enjoyed my visit and would recommend this place.

Wonderful place. I had lunch there and ordered onion soup (on the foto) and Cesar salad. Both were not only delicious by also beautifully served. The place is quite pricy, but it is totally worth it. Staff is very friendly; everything looks very nice and clean. Quite surprising is the set of cosmetic stuff available in the toilet, like hairspray if you need to fix your hair. Overall, I totally recommend this place.

Delicious Berlin-style cuisine served in a charming 1920s-inspired setting. Its location directly under the railway tracks makes for a unique experience—it’s actually quite fun to hear the trains rumble by while you enjoy your meal.
Oriol R - 2 months ago
Set beneath the old railway arches, the place has a nostalgic atmosphere that feels like stepping back several decades ,classic, a little cinematic, and full of character. Even though it wasn’t particularly busy, the atmosphere was still very pleasant and made for a nice dinner setting. The schnitzel was delicious, and overall it was a really enjoyable experience. A great spot if you’re looking for somewhere with a bit more personality than the usual restaurant.
Tommy Ny - 5 months ago
Glad i had the chance to try Restaurant Nolle. Had the Berlin style potato soup with veggies/sausage & the Homemade meatball with fried potatoes & coleslaw. Soup was hearty & delicious. Meatball tasted more like a meatloaf. It was decent. The fried potatoes were a good choice.
Waitress Sedenia was welcoming & friendly. Relaxed atmosphere. Met with busy dinner crowd. The decor gives a 1920's vibe.
You definitely feel the vibration of the train passing through every 5 minutes or so. It's different & gives the restaurant some character. Overall, i enjoyed a pleasant dinner here.
Christine Doan - 9 months ago
The Nolle is one of our go-to places whenever we are in Berlin. Excellent food. (Huge portions) Good service. Smiling staff! The rattle of the trains overhead certainly add to the atmosphere! Love it!
Tom Edwards - 8 months ago
Fine place, fine menu. Fast friendly service. Food is delicious, BUT you for sure can feel it was all cooked some time ago and warmed up for you. It’s delicious, but you don’t feel like they cooked for you. Also loud place. There is a train station and building shakes every 5 minutes but we liked it.

We popped in on a cold, busy day without a reservation and were offered a seat at a shared table. We are usually somewhat "to our selves " type of people, but the arraignment, and the warm feeling of this place gave us no hesitation even though we don't really speak the language. The employees were proficient in English. We started with a gorgeous latte and milk chocolate hot cocoa. You can choose between white, milk, and dark cocoa so that tells you what kind of place this is. My husband raved about the cocoa and he is not easily impressed. I splurged and ordered the poached egg with ricotta and thyme on bread. I was very happy they agreed to substitute croissant for the bread . The combination of egg with ricotta never entered my mind previously, but it will never leave my mind after having the privilege to taste it. If I am near any Zimt und Zucker in the future I will gladly come again.

Staff speaks English which was very nice. Cafe is small with barely any tables and u need a reservation. Thankfully one of the tables was free but we were told to leave before the next reservation. Food was overpriced but really good. Staff was nice but sometimes it felt like they gave us a little attitude but maybe that’s a German thing

Delicious lunch stop! Great coffee and chocolate milk, delicious eggs. Lovely location. Attentive service.
Lisa V - 3 months ago
We did not have a reservation and were lucky to instantly get a table!
The waitress was professional and attentive.
The coffee and hot chocolate were very good, apart from the fact that the hot chocolate was mildly warm instead of hot. Preference maybe?
We shared a blue berry cheesecake which was gluten free, light, not too sweet and very delicious.
The cakes and items on the menu are all labeled with "vegan" or "gluten free", which was helpful.
The prices, however, are a little expensive.

I was in the area enjoying the nice weather and decided to stop by the café for a quick coffee. I had heard earlier that the place might be expensive, but in my opinion every café should be evaluated by its taste, aroma, and overall atmosphere.
I ordered a coffee and a croissant, both of which I enjoyed. At the time of my visit, the place was quiet and had a pleasant vibe, which made the experience relaxing.
Aarkgupta - a month ago
Hands down the best veal schnitzel I ever had! The meat was so soft inside and the outter batter was thin and flaky. The side of postatoes were extremely buttery and soft. Would definitely come back to this venue. Their coffee was well prepared too. You can see when a venue takes care of coffee, and they definitely did. Service fast and efficient, no frills. I also strongly recommend the apple strudel, which was devine. We had it with vanilla sauce that was so good, runny, vanillaey and gentle. Definite would reommend this restaurant. PS. It is a bit on the expensive side, but I believe it is worth it when visiting Berlin.
Joao Pimentel - 4 months ago
Atmosphere is very nice, the interior looks historical and their apfelstrudel is authentic. Prices are a bit high but considering the location it makes sense.
If your around Unter den Linden and need a break, a visit here is recommended. Coffee and a desert here was a very nice plan during our visit in Berlin. Their coffee was tasty and they offer oat milk option too.

Ignore those Einstein Kaffe chain establishments. This has a feel of an old Berlin cafe right in the heart of historical surroundings.
Very respectful service and excellent food. This was a brunch worth the search.

A very nice and convenient place to eat. There is a variety of dishes. The staff are polite and the service is very good. We visited twice and both times we enjoyed nice meals. Recommended.
Maria Ts - 4 months ago
I visited Block House at Friedrichstraße yesterday as a solo guest without a reservation and was seated without any problem. I started with the creamy potato soup, which was nice, but the bread that came with it had a bit too much garlic and salt for my taste.
For the main course I chose the monthly offer: sirloin steak with fresh green beans, French fries and an orange sauce. I was happy I asked for the sauce on the side, as it wasn’t really that good and this way I could fully enjoy the pure taste of the meat. The fries were also a bit over-salted. However, the steak itself was perfectly cooked and very tasty – definitely the highlight of the meal.
The service was welcoming and professional throughout. With two beers, the total came to about 40 €, which feels fair for the quality and location. Overall a good experience, with small details that could be improved.

Fantastic Italian restaurant with a beautiful location by the water. The carbonara was the best I’ve had in Berlin. even better than at some Italian restaurants that are well known for this dish. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was rich and authentic. The white wine was excellent, the cocktail was just as good, and the service was really good. I will definitely come back on my next visit to Berlin.
