I was looking for a genuine German food around my hotel & was pointed to this place by the tourist office at the main train station.
It was right be the River Spree & consist of not just a restaurant but also a large biergarten, I was not expecting much but the din from the place before I reached it told me that I would not be disappointed. It was rather crowded but the friendly staff was able to offered me a seat high table.
I ordered a beer, a vegetable soup & the pork knuckle. The beer came quickly, the soup a little while later & not outstanding.
The pork knuckle came after quite a while (they already pre-warned me) & it was served with some kind of mashed potato & sauerkraut & they worked wonderfully together.
Benjamin, the owner, roamed around entertaining the guest & spoke to me as well telling me that they also have a basement area which they would used as restaurant space in the winter.

Very local and delicious restaurant.
It was pretty close to central station and intercity hotel.
We were lucky to just attend it without booking in advance.
Food and beers were really good, so the atmosphere and service.

Zollpackhof is a fantastic spot with a great Bavarian-style atmosphere! 🍻🇩🇪 While they serve traditional Bavarian dishes, they also offer Currywurst, adding a nice touch to the menu. We highly recommend the Schnitzel and the assortment sharing dish—perfect for a fun and delicious meal with friends. The service was friendly, and a big plus is that they welcome dogs! A great place to enjoy good food and a lively ambiance. 🍽️🐶✨

Absolutely fantastic lunch away from the madding crowd. The Spargel was excellent as was the pork schnitzel. Very nice Bavarian beer.

Great service with good local German dishes. I would recommend the original schnitzel with fried potatoes. Inside is warm and with seating close to a fireplace. In summer the outdoors seating must be nice.

Weltwirtschaft am HKW in Berlin was the perfect spot to unwind. We stopped for a couple of beers and relaxed, taking in the beautiful surroundings right by the Spree River and next to the Haus der Kulturen der Welt. The atmosphere was peaceful, the beer was great, and it was a perfect break to just enjoy the view and the laid-back vibe. A hidden gem for sure if you’re looking for a relaxing stop in Berlin!

Weltwirtschaft am HKW is a vibrant cultural hotspot located within the Heizkraftwerk (HKW) in Berlin. This unique venue combines industrial charm with a dynamic program of events, including art exhibitions, concerts, and discussions focused on global economic and social issues. The space itself is impressive, retaining the raw, industrial architecture of the former power plant, which creates an inspiring atmosphere for creativity and dialogue. Visitors appreciate the thought-provoking exhibitions and the opportunity to engage with contemporary topics in an accessible way. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience. While the location is somewhat off the typical tourist path, it’s well worth the visit for anyone interested in art, culture, and global affairs. Whether you’re attending a lecture or simply exploring the space, Weltwirtschaft am HKW offers a unique blend of history, culture, and education that leaves a lasting impression.

They didn't have many options on their menu in the shop, but the food was surprisingly good for this type of place. The portion was quite large, and we ended up ordering way too much.
We sat down by the river, and the atmosphere was really nice. The only issue was that there were quite a few people smoking in the outdoor area, so we had to keep changing our tables to stay away from them.

Food Quality: surprised at the amazing pizza. The dough was fluffy, the ingredients were fresh, real cut up salami. Calamari rings were very greasy though. French fries also very good.
Portions: quite decent.
Drinks: biergarten style plus coffee
Price: $$ not expensive, get good amount of food.
Service: nothing outstanding, decent, and quick. A bit of an order mix up, but fixed quickly.
Atmosphere: beautiful location by the river. And if you are lucky (or not) there could be some event happening and have some cultural music playing in the background.
Highlights: location and pizza
Things to improve: could use a little bit more shade during the summer.
Payment Method: CC, cash

Nice restaurant / beergarden in a remarkable place in Berlin!
Next: the "schwangere Auster" and the house of cultures, next to the Spree channel.
The place is more or less a huge beergarden with half of it as a self service area.
Food and drinks are good. Teas and lemonade are fresh, wine and beer are chilled and tasty.
The waiters are relaxed. Some of them are quite new to the job but I guess that's because everything just opened up again.
Please mind: the serviced area offers almost no shadow during the late afternoon. But as the Terrasse is facing to the west you'll have quite a nice sunset and long sun hours.
That place is nice to have a short break ore meet with a couple of friends for a few hours. Guests are more tourists and/or conservative.
You may book your table vie "open table".

New and unbeatably delicious. Varied and creative cuisine! But not overly expensive. We'll be back🤗
